Ok, one more time:
Loki is not gay!
He is bisexual!
I get that you want to erase Sylvie (who is also bi) to inforce your ship preference, but that's not how that works.
(And yes, you'll probably say it's an umbrella term or whatever, but I wont buy that.)

I feel like these days we get so much criticism of the dynamics in 2012 that the characters get kind of flattened by the fandom, so I wanna say that 2012 Raph is not just a one-dimensional bully character, he's got a lot more caring and emotional intelligence than he gets credit for. Yeah, he has an obvious protective streak, but even beyond that, he's always his brother's number one supporter, even when he disagrees with them.
He's highly critical of Mikey's desire to make human friends, but when Mikey goes out to do it anyways and it blows up in his face with Bradford, Raph is the one to comfort him and tell him he deserves better.
He thinks Donnie's crush on April is delusional, but helps him out at every chance he gets, removing Donnie from embarrassing situations of talking him up in front of April. When Casey comes into the picture, Raph tells him point blank that it doesn't matter that they're best friends, and it doesn't matter how bad Donnie's chances are, Raph's on Donnie's side in this.
And when Leo starts sneaking out to see Karai, Raph is the one who notices, tells him off, and tries to get him to stop. He doesn't tell anyone else, though. He wants Leo to make good choices, but he respects him enough to let him make bad ones without getting the rest of the family involved. They'd all be on Raph's side, but he doesn't need them to all gang up on Leo like that, even if he's not listening.
Basically, Raph cares about his brothers, including their emotional well-being, even when it's not obvious. And yeah we should criticize the writing and how harsh it gets and how there's no resolution to the ways certain characters are treated, but I get tired of seeing complex characters be villainized and sometimes I just wanna read fanfiction that is nice?????? So that's my thesis I guess lol

i've been thinking about this for two (awake) days now and i think i'll just commit to it and actually write a meta post on why—despite what everyone seems to think—crowley is not actually running away from his problems.
it's NOT his response to everything and it's NOT his preferred option, the fandom has simply taken three impactful moments and then decided that it applies to him all the time.
on top of that, we also really need to talk about the fact that a large part of this fandom degrades and criticizes leaving and glorifies staying.

I don't mind projection onto fictional characters that much, heck I do it myself. (Aspec characters my beloved.) But sometimes peojection just turns into overly sanded projections of the canonical characters themselves.
Heck not even projection, sometimes they'll just do whatever to the character to the point they're barely recognizable. Making them sanded and flat to put in the most bare bones stuff for like, memes and other forms of projection. Thinking it's cool or funny to have them be that way when it very clearly goes against canon.
Idk I'm just tired of seeing characters dulled down for whatever headcanons and ships and whatnot just because people can't handle nuance and think of them deeper than a surface level interpretation. PLEASE go back and look at the characters in canon and study them for a bit. Build headcanons off of that. Sometimes they'll do things that you won't do and that's fine. Not everything is for personal projection. (Though there's nothing wrong in being a self indulgent a little)

Once, just once, I would love for a show or series to have an aspec character and:
A) have it be confirmed in text
B) the fandom fucking respects it

If you don't mind me asking, why don't you ship cassunzel/Unknighted dream? I don't ship it either but I'm curious about your reasoning
1/2
After the finale of the series I tried to get into unknighted before quickly seeing how blatantly anti-eugene it was back then. It just was so overt, and was very weird as it seemed to go under the radar. Just personally very telling. <_< I never got the vibe of neutralism but forced interaction. It just seemed like an excuse to make Eugene look incompetent, the target of every joke yadayada– just all along that line of not being taken serious. When I occasionally see it now I just kinda simmer because he seems out of character with what coming from a past of already having very little and never getting anything/one to himself, but I have nothing against it.
For cassunzel I just never saw the chemistry. Again with the forced interaction and season three only intensified that feeling for me. Heavily. As well as some not so nice things I heard and witnessed from the community, again, not welcoming. It’s not my thing.
You also shouldn't be putting down any particular pairing(s) or characters to justify why you ship something either, which at least imo makes unknighted more bearable to come across in this current state of the fandom.

I have, however, been into Tangled way longer than I’ve been invested in the series, starting back in 2012 despite the fact that I wasn’t active online much then. New Dream has always been my favorite pairing!! The movie had a universe much different aesthetically than the series did and is much more likable. It's just overall a great comfort movie for me personally and I’ve made so many great connections from other fans of it too! It’s nice to finally have a space I feel comfortable in to share my tangled obsessions n' stuff. :D
tl;dr: With Eugene’s characterization I feel he’s stripped of his likeness when put in unknighted a lot of times, and never took a liking to cassunzel. I got into Tangled (2010) years before the series was even a thought and have been obsessed ever since. Guys. Ship wtv you want.
