The good news is that June and July are finally officially up and in the members-only gallery and August's pin-up is well on its way to completion! Gallavich Things Events Calendar 2025

As some of you might have seen, I posted a tentative calendar a few days ago, and I'd like to thank everyone who sent me some feedback about it, it was much appreciated! This is the final version, and it's pretty similar to the one I posted then. I've not included events run by other blogs on this one because I'm pinning this post, but I'm holding space (lol) for them.

Additionally, starting on the first of January, I'm running a new thing on this blog called Gallavich Flashback: every day I'll be reblogging an old fanwork. These can be fics, fanart, videos, anything, as old as yesterday or ten years ago! (Please note that I have an actual life that might interfere with this, but this is the plan at least - and January is already all scheduled.) These posts will be tagged "Gallavich Flashback" and a direct link to the tag will also be posted here.

Now here's the official events calendar for 2025!

January - Guessing for the Masquerade taking place up to the 31st

Mid-February - Appreciation week / Lovefest (The idea is having an event to talk about everyone’s favorite Gallavich related things, including fandom stuff. From favorite episode to favorite fanart, for example. So kind of a mix between the appreciation week and the Lovefest, two events we’ve had in the past - official name TBD.)

Late February - Sign-ups for the gift exchange start

Early March - Sign-ups close and prompts are chosen

Late April - gift exchange postings

Mid-May - Gallavich Week themes revealed

Mid-June - Gallavich week

August - A.U.gust

October - Kinktober

November (mid to last week) - Masquerade opens

Bonjour! In the spirit of curiosity, I'm going around asking people things about their experiences in fandom. So, here's the first question: have you ever joined an exchange or fan-run event before (can be as a writer, beta reader, or artist)? If the answer is yes, what did you like about it? Yeah! I have been part of two Technoblade gift exchanges, the dreblrtine exchange, a new year secret santa, the flamekeeper zine, the dtqk+ big bang, the dsmp pin up calendar, the through the ages collab and fanart speedrun on twitter and some less committal (but no less fun) stuff like the sixteenth day event and art trades! I have always joined as an artist :) I also organized the dreblr secret santa this year, and I am running a big bang right now.

Generally, I enjoy drawing for others, it is just fun idk. And somehow drawing with some limitation (like a prompt) can be really inspiring to me and often creates drawings, I would have never done otherwise! Besides that, you just get exposed to more corners of the fandom. I think I found Airrec first because I was assigned to them in a gift exchange, and I have been enjoying their writing ever since. Anyway, here are my 4 favorite fandom event pieces I have done:

i think i've answered this before from a different ask but *waves hand* who cares. i think there have been several and they have changed over time based on when i received them. for instance, in 2018, when my friend gave me keith's jacket from vld, it was then the best gift i had ever received because it was something i loved and my friend knew that and put effort into getting it for me, rather than the usual things the person giving the gift likes but maybe not the giftee, or things i think you would like and i would have been right if i was giving this three years ago but to give it now indicates a complete lack of awareness about who you are today (aka, the things my family usually gets me). it's not the best NOW. i don't even own it still. but then, it mattered a lot. some of the best gifts i've been given include a handmade star trek themed journal ("personal log") from my sister when i was a kid; the shazam fanart @comfymoth drew for my birthday this year that was so thoughtful and sweet; a hand-bound journal my friend made me with all their favorite lines from my fic written into the covers; my friend throwing money at me so i could get the oh hellos soldier/poet/king pins; the one time my friend showed up with a giant bottle of painkillers and a new fuzzy blanket for my birthday; the weighted blanket i got for christmas in 2020 (getting so much mileage out of that bad boy); and the time my irl remembered an incredibly specific time i said i wanted to drink (eat?) a champagne glass of mini m&ms and showed up months and months later on new year's with a massive jar of mini m&ms and two champagne glasses for us to use. also loveee when people get me calendars. i never remember to get them myself.
