Name: Haruka Tenou / Sailor Uranus
Trainer Card Number: 638
Gender: Female
Series Of Origin: Sailor Moon
Type Specialty: Flying with Electric & Steel
Magnezone & Rotom Fan: Uranus represents innovation
Revavroom: She's a race car driver
Braviary & Salamence: Tenou translates to "Sky King"
Gallade: A contrast of Haruka's masculinity to Michiru's femininity
If I did Michiru without Haruka, I might as well go to gay nerd jail. They really were one of the first gay couples I remember seeing on TV. Even if they were censored in the dub.

Remember when Rotom was just a one-time event Pokémon that you found hiding in an old television? And now it's just out and about everywhere, like on top of random cliff sides.

And it's MODEST nature too? Truly I have been blessed this day.

I can never decide which Rotom Form to use though.

Pokemon Card of the Day #2754: Fan Rotom (Ultra Prism)
Tumblr media
The final Rotom that went with the gimmick was Fan Rotom. This one brought spread damage to the table. The attack cost when not being used as part of the Rotom deck was carefully built so that it wasn’t easily paid for with a Double Colorless Energy, likely leaving the card for just being used with other Rotom. The idea here was spread damage, which was harder to use in a format with a lot of Pokemon with big HP numbers but still had its uses.
90 HP wasn’t going to stand up to a lot by the time you got 9 Tools in the discard pile to attack. The Lightning Weakness didn’t mean too much as a result, especially since Zapdos, which would otherwise matter, couldn’t take advantage of that kind of thing. The Fighting Resistance also rarely mattered with this little HP. Being able to retreat for free was a nice thing to have if needed, mostly good for early in a game for making pivoting easy.
Roto Motor hadn’t changed here, either. The Ability worked if you had 9 or more Pokemon Tool cards in your discard pile, and let you ignore all Energy in the attack costs on Fan Rotom. That was simply the goal of the deck.
Spinning Fan, without Roto Motor in play, needed 3 Colorless Energy, so you weren’t using it without that. 20 damage to each of the opponent’s Pokemon could add up if given the opportunity. You rarely would have time to get multiple attacks off like this, but there was a bit of potential if you could get it going against something like a Pidgeotto deck. Those decks had their threats, of course, including Girafarig putting Tools into the Lost Zone where they didn’t help.
Fan Rotom wasn’t the best of the Rotom cards since the format wasn’t really built for later-game spread damage. You couldn’t even use this for its Colorless requirements in a different deck too easily since 3 Colorless Energy meant it wasn’t just an easy attachment to get where you needed to go. In any format but the UPR-On one, Fan Rotom was a worse Tapu Koko outside the Rotom deck. In any format, however, you’d probably include a single copy alongside the other Rotom options and go in knowing you were using a fun, but somewhat weak, deck.
