Tf2 details that a lot of people get wrong PT 2:
[Previous post]
The Administrator INCLUDING miss Pauling often severaly underestimate the mercs intelligence and capabilities, so much so that Demoman and Soldier got away with being friends for months (or they hid it THAT well, I wouldn't put it past Soldier).
In the last post, a lot of people were saying that Demoman was over 30. I'd like to argue that Demoman is at least in his late 20s during the WAR! issue, though he was in his 30s during the gravel wars and later comics too. But let's agree to disagree before people get annoyed at me for getting a characters age wrong, let's say he's between 29-36.
I keep saying this and I'LL KEEP SAYING THIS! Scout KNOWS who his dad is, there's so much evidence, and he's WAY smarter then most people give him credit for. I made an analysis about the Meet The Scout video and the fact he took down almost HALF of the blu team means he's CRAZY strategic AND I'LL KEEP GLAZING THAT MF. HE IS CLEVER.
In the last post I said Engineer has green eyes. I was wrong about that, the image I used was a fan model. He's always wearing goggles so what his eyes look like are unknown. Though I've been told he doesn't have any eyes sculpted into his model, other people say they're blue.
Spy's character is what the fandom thinks Scout is like. He loves destruction, laughs whenever something wrong happens, and you'll see him smiling whenever something chaotic is going on. He's the original chaos gremlin and I want more depictions of him being like that.
I didn't know the term last post so I called Soldier racist (since he doesn't care who you are as long as you're American). It's called xenophobic, which I didn't know was a thing. So thanks for the correction.
Medic isn't as strong as people depict. He gets his ass beaten A LOT, both in game play AND in the comics. He likes to observe the battle happening then he does fighting. But he DOES have muscle, so he's just a weak fighter.
Miss Pauling would NOT cover for their asses if she found out the mercs were dating the other team. Even if she finds it cute, she's more loyal to her boss then to her mercs. Before someone argues about whatever Heavy and Medic have going on and why she hasn't figured it out yet (which is definitely canon theres no way its not), this correlates to the other fact about her underestimating the mercs.
Miss Pauling also isn't a lesbian, that was just a joke the creator made and even then, Jay Pinkerton said himself that would be too simple (which I agree with). But people only listened to the lesbian part and not the tweet above it. Don't get me wrong, lesbian Pauling is funny but don't treat it as canonical.

"....and here we have the image of the Terran deity of truth, Eycha-Bomba-ur-Guy, not be confused with the deity Bomb-ur, the god of abundance from the ancient Tolki-eena religion, which predates the Utubar religion entirely. Archeological excavations of the primitive holo-relics of Terra dates the Utubar religion to the two kingdoms period of the Amaz-U-na, and App-le-ple empires, in the Memetiscan era.
As stated before Eycha-Bomba-ur-Guy is a deity of truth and religious texts proclaim that he emerges whenever the principles of truth are violated. The legends we have been able to uncover from the ruins of Terra talks of a well where he is supposed to reside in and that every terran year he appears unexpectedly in order to shame the liars seeking fortune in the Holos of the kingdom of Utuba in a ruthless public sermon.
(Unfortunately we have not been able to uncover physical evidence of the kingdom as of now. Much of the information we have on the Utuba come from the Utuba Com-men-tits, the famous historical document that confirmed the theory that the Utuba people, consisting of the mortal Viu-wah, the priestly Saab-scriba, and godly Cree-atar, recorded history collectively.)
In his endeavor to champion truth Eycha-Bomba-ur-Guy is confronted by many adversaries and we can see how these battles play out in the religious iconography of the period. One of his many opponents is Tomm-y-Tallaar-ico, a rather comical figure who relentlessly takes credit for the achievements of others' and boasts about it throughout Terra. Some scholars believe him to be a fictional figure created to warn children to stay away from lying and boasting, especially because the Utuba Com-men-tits records one of the claims made by the minor deity as his mother being proud of him, which by the very nature of the deity is implied to be a false claim.
(Parental figures and their approval seems to be very important to the Terrans. Scholars have found multiple worshipful holos with terms such as Daddy, Zaddy, Mother, Mommy, and Muscle Mommy as evidence to this theory. Deviant behaviour seems to be referred to as 'Fatherless' behaviour. 'Yo Mamma' statements seem to be considered a damning insult. In addition, the ritualistic chant "Excuse me? Sorry. Mommy? Sorry. Mommy? Sorry", which is believed to be the only surviving part of the the lost Litany for Forgiveness, the pair to the Litany against Fear from the Epic of the Dune, validates the theory that Terrans craved parental approval.)
Much more sinister than the Tomm-y-Tallaar-ico is the Jayme-som-Erton, a figure that only talks in the voice of others. A negative deity presiding over plagiarism, Jayme-som-Erton pretends be your ally while making profit off of your work. After Eycha-Bomba-ur-Guy defeated him in a lengthy duel the Utuba Com-men-tits faithfully records that Jayme-som-Erton's own voice can only speak lies and to be wary of the others among the Cree-ator class that use his tricks to prosper in Utuba.
Eycha-Bomba-ur-Guy's legendary victory over Jayme-som-Erton was followed by the complete erasure of the Cree-ator's presence in the Utuba kingdom's religion beyond being used as a cautionary tale. This presents another aspect of Terran religion, called Can-cellat-Ion, a ritualistic deicide of the gods that have wronged them. Undoubtedly this is an evidence of the might of the ancient Terrans. Several pieces of historical evidence from the records known as Twee-et-er (theorized to be named after a blue avian like figure who many believe might be related to the legendary heroes Twee-dle-dee, and Twee-dle-dum) refer to multiple conflicts called the War of the Fans which lead to the Can-cellat-Ion being performed. Ancient Terrans were indeed a fearsome species. (To be noted that some deities do recover while others do not. Criteria for survival unknown.)
In the coming chapters, we'll look into more deities from Terra's various pantheons, such as the eternal enmity between the Goddess Doll-y-Par-tonn and her nemesis Jol-e-Ne. The deity Trish-a-Payt-As, whose children are harbingers for the death of malignant royals is also important to look into. The deity seems to have had hostility towards the Brie-ti-ish royals specifically as legends say they were hit twice by the deity's wrath. Also of particular interest are Ea-Nasir, a deity of trickery and mischief, and ancient literature such as the Gonch-ar-Ov, a lost epic saga whose holo-copy researchers are still trying to uncover today. Both of these are a part of the Tumb-L-Er mystery religion, whose intricate rites and rituals still remain too complex to decode...."
-Excerpt from Chapter 9, "Deities from the Holo", from Scholar Jaarp-r-Saar's The Complexities of Terran Religions.

Lost Media Found! I knew my cousin vin and said he found this game that was said be buried in sadam andler's closet. an unknown gem, known as nedm. people, and omong gamesters, know this today as "not even doom music", as stated to be a hidden pilgrim of the Meme. But in truth there has been no real answer what nedm stood for. I say it is Nintendo Entertain Dumbo Mondo! Because it was told this was one of those games id software sold their engine to and made a s****y super nintendo shooter!!wtf!?! but in truth it was just a bootleg port for the it made from New Germany. Well anyways we dug a bit deeper on this conntecting the schemy publisher of the bootleg beeing SlyEye, a third-party coop. Ties with Segtendo, idk, idc. Point being they owned the dev team GIGABAD Studio, a colleges dorm squad formed in florida. Know a guy know a guy situation between John Carmack and and Tommy Tallirico (what a bambino!) Vin played the game on Lint.tv and some of the original devs showed up! They talked about how they sold the license to the game for fucking 50k euros. I'm American so I can't get those numbers working at the moment but that's a wallop of fondue! They legit moved onto working in the industry on the side, like the type of guys you'd see in the credits but in the smallest of all texts scrolling by after a 70$ AAA game. They did mention that the bootleg is a complete botched port and the original game made for DOS-MS was vastly different in everywway, so far as saying it's as good as DOOM was but more. This was sort of a small team trying to make it big but gets swindled by the last minute type of crud. Somehow no different than the Action 52/Cheetahmen situation. They even said they had a whole comic that came with the game it was supposed to be shipped with, saying it was like a 1-to-1 story mode as the game goes on. Not a lot info spread aferwards, the stream got cut due to a DMCA takedown from the band Jerry Flintstone from copyright infringement, which alas was just a false auto flag. very luckily i was recording cousin Vinstripe, The Mafia Gamer play this game and paused to listen to the music. This was said to be the final boss's theme song or one of many. the dev said they don't know who made this. they only went by the intitials. A.M.
[ excuse the quality my roommate was downloading deadlock on steam without the thottling so it sounds like an aol.voice chat =[ ]

Possessive reader x Albedo/Aether
Part 1
Note: I apologize in advance because 1, I definitely didn't proof read this, 2. I might accidentally forget to put in credits for the art and I already deleted it in the gallery so-
Important notice for the artwork!: Please read from left to right to know which art belongs to the artist. Also, some of the pictures has the same artist so I will number them and organize it. Tysm for reading. Hope you enjoy!
Characters!: albedo + Rubedo / Aether
Information of color: Albedo and Aether is orange/yellow and Rubedo is red. Tysm
2nd Information: You are a scientist or an Alchemist in Albedo/Rubedo. And for Aether, you're basically a rich person. [Which I want one in my life bc I'm broke-]
3rd information about my knowledge: I actually don't know about fake Albedo and when I came across a comic of him and Albedo and searched him up in Google, he was called rubedo. I don't think it's a Canon name and just a fan-canon name but I'll be using the name Rubedo
No pronouns are used, it's GN reader. No specific gender so it could be read as any gender. [I apologize that I also put tags of f reader and m reader with gn reader and not just gn reader]
Warning: The writing is very lengthy. Yandere Albedo/Rubedo?

You were organizing your lab when suddenly there was a knock on the door. You quickly fixed your hair and coat, "Come in!" You awnsered. A blonde man comes in, smiling and slightly waving at your presence. "Oh, Albedo! Is there anything you need?"
'Albedo' paused. But then tilting his head and smiling. Although strange, you didn't mind. You flinched when a cold hand held yours and then something....soft was nuzzling it? You turned around and looked down to your hand, seeing 'Albedo' with his strange behavior, nuzzling his cheek on to your hand.
Your face quickly flushed with red, chuckling. You patted his head as he also nuzzled it. You tried to retract your hand, but his grip tightened as he stared at you. You became nervous and concerned but laughed it off. "Albedo? Did you take something strange again?" He looks down, seemingly ignoring your question. You sighed, sitting down as 'Albedo' comes joining you.
He leaned onto your shoulder, still holding your hand with his own. He trapped your hand with both of his hands and looked up to you.
"Do you like me now......Master..?" He said while kissing your palm. You froze, wait....is he calling you...MASTER?!
Your thoughts were interrupted with a door creaking. You looked at the door, seeing....Albedo?? Wait, why is there 2 Albedo's?!
"[Name]?! Why is he sitting with you...!"
You were cunfused, still wondering which was the true Albedo until you looked at their necks. Albedo has a star.....this one doesn't. Then who's the one clinging onto your arm?!
After things got settled, you found out that he was Rubedo. Rubedo was now sitting on your lap in your arms. You didn't really have a choice whether you let him or not. But unknownly to you, he was smirking at Albedo. Mocking him as his mouth word out,
'I got to be in their arms,' Rubedo said as Albedo grumbled. Feeling an unknown feeling bubbling inside him, jealously
Suddenly, Albedo grabbed your hand and shoved Rubedo off your lap. "[Name], let's take a walk around mondstadt"
You nervously agreed, not knowing what to do. It's even worse when you guys walk in Mondstadt town. Everyone was looking at you and whispering things about Rubedo and Albedo clinging onto both of your arms as they glared at each other. You were stiff, not knowing what to do.
You all three stopped when a drunk man began to stumble along the way to you. He began flirting with Albedo and Rubedo, saying that they should get to know each other. Your patience and anger were about to snap as you can see Rubedo and Albedo was clearly uncomfortable. Both were about to summon their sword until,
"Go fuck off for archon's sake! Who in their right mind would even think of giving you a chance to even "GeT tO kNoW eAcH oThEr?" So go away and leave us alone." You said. Mocking his words. Then you grabbed his shoulder, "And they're taken by me, so they are mine. Back off. " The drunk man angrily went away as everyone looked at the usual stress but calm [name] screamed in anger. And even curse?
Both Rubedo face and Albedo face went red. Like literally, red as a tomato! Even steam was coming out of their heads!! They definitely heard what you whispered to the guy. And when you wrapped your arms around both of their waist, making them come closer to you. (They shivered, from excitement and delight when they found your new side of you)
They both felt....warm (especially down there—)
You check on both of them, panicking as their face was still flushed red. It became worse when you put your hands on both of their foreheads to check if they had a fever. (If they can even catch one)
Then, when you guys went back to Albedo's lab instead of yours because Albedo offered to let you experiment with him and....Rubedo.
If only you knew, they made a contract to share you behind your back. At least they will be mostly at peace with each other. [Beside the people who made you uncomfortable or cause a threat of their love to you. At least their in the basement.....bleeding out]
Aether
[1.] Artist: Usaryun app: Twitter
[2.] Artist: Shoraln app: danbooru
Location: Liyue
It was a normal day as Aether finished the commissions, bounty, and requests from the people. He's been saving up mora to go to fontaine. He was extremely tired and even worser, Paimon passed out to the heat of the sun and thank archons that he had enough mora to rent out a room for Paimon to sleep in.
He went out and sat on a bench. As if he didn't feel or cared about the heat of the sun, he was sweating. Not even bothering to get some cold water or ice to help him. Later, a figure approached him, and he looked over as the figure was familiar to him. It was you! Oh, how he was overjoyed!
You guys met in Sumeru when him got stuck in some vines while you were traveling. Although you had a good laugh before you could get him out as he pouted. You gave him mora for laughing as an apology. You let him stay at your house and gave them food to eat as Paimon stuffed her face with it.
You decided to travel with him as he was planning to go back to Liyue as you paid all the expenses even though he offered to pay instead. You guys had to separate though for a few weeks because of your business, but now you're back.
You gave him a glass of water with ice as he gulped it down. He thanked you for your kindness as he leaned on your shoulder. He actually caught feelings for you after a few months. You always do commissions for him when he feels tired or injured. You declined small requests from people since some people won't do it themselves.
His heart almost jumped out when you held his hand. He was about to say something until a lady showed up. She kept asking Aether to help her in her house because she needed some cleaning. She still won't budge even when you told her that Aether wasn't available at the moment. Aether was tired, and he was about to apologize and decline, but you snapped.
"Lady, it's literally just some cleaning. Your house is probably not even that big. Stop being so lousy and do it yourself. Or go hire some maid and not a person who's way out of your league."
His heart fluttered when you said that. He slightly grinned. He was startled when you stood up, walking up to the lady.
"And also, don't you try to even take him away from me. He. Belongs. To. Me."
His face was dusted in red blush. He was yours...? He didn't mind though. He was happy. Perhaps you would come with him to find his sister. He thought,
"Ah, Aether. Is the hot weather getting to you? You're face is red"
"N- no! I mean- yes!"
He stuttered as he got flustered. You chuckled and turned around to buy maybe some cold juice for Aether. He looked over to the woman, smirking at the woman. Crossing his arms as he mouthed out,
'He's mine'
The woman stormed off, as Aether smiled at you when he saw you coming towards him. He wrapped his arm with yours and headed to Wangshu Inn where Paimon is probably looking for him.

Holy shit he is 100% right for the latter 2 posts (former I'm pretty sure he complained extremely about Sega, though I forgot if it was after or before leaving)
Ian's been hyper integrated and catering to the fandom since 1999, interviewed by a large fandom site in 2002, and open about getting to be hired. If he was more low key about his status, the god complex might've never happened, and this whole drama would've been less severe
Like to understand this, Penders hate didn't really kick off until he was publicly sueing around Chronicles. To the greater Sonic fandom he was a none entity till that point, only comic fans were aware. Ian was similarly unknown to the greater fandom until around the 2013 reboot, which caused drama to make Archie suddenly more known. It's to the point where if that didn't happen, he might've never been hired for Frontiers, nor would he feign being a game fan.
I mentioned how Pontiac/Graff being the first time localizers were credited ended up making them a target for hate. Like, name a localizer without googling from 2005-2009 for Sonic? 2003/4? 1998-2002?
You can't, they rarely were public with what they did. Even with the mistakes, they weren't catering to fans as they treated their job indiscriminately (though the formulative 1991-1995 years were another thing with Sega America vs Japan politics impacting)
I guess it's true what they say. A broken clock is right twice a day

I know fuck all about tf2 except for character names. Most I got is you and a few other mutuals posts, and they're 10/10. How does the game..... work exactly? Like is there plot? Is it first person shooter sort of thing? Is there a tf1?
I could google it but that's not nearly as fun
OH BOY GET READY FOR THE B I G R AM B L E
WHAT THE FUCK IS TF2?
It's a team based first person shooter published by Valve (of portal and half life fame) in 2007 with nine classes to choose from, each with strengths countered by other classes (for example, the Spy is often a counter against the Sniper and Engineer. Respectively, by picking off the Sniper with a quick, stealthy backstab or by destroying the Engineer's machines). The game has been free to play since 2009 (i think. grain of salt please), and has a healthy playerbase to this day, aside from the bots. But not every tf2 fan actually plays the game. I play sometimes, but mostly just rotate the characters in my brain like a microwave burrito.
It is ALSO, however, a multimedia franchise. Aside from the game, which shows off worldbuilding and characterization through the environment and character dialogue (as well as the update announcement flyers on the official blog), there are also animated shorts and comics created by Valve that further flesh out the world and characters of TF2. Frankly, I think you should give the Meet The Team shorts a go if nothing else. They're iconic. It's hard to pick favorites, but I'm partial to Meet the Medic (obviously), Meet the Engineer (which I can quote verbatim), and Meet the Sniper.
Broadly, the world and aesthetics of TF2 are based on 60's/70's cold war thrillers and spy movies. Think James Bond and the Manchurian Candidate. These impeccable vibes are then wrapped neatly in a cartoony artstyle that wasn't common at the time (and arguably still isn't. I'm pretending that fortnight doesnt exist, as is custom). On a related note, the soundtrack FUCKS SEVERELY. Like. They just DO. They have influence from Jazz, Funk, and miltary marching songs, with more specific influences for individual characters (ex: country western for engineer, polka for medic, and bagpipes for demoman)
An important thing to note is that every class is a play on some stereotype from the movies that inspired the vibes:
Heavy Weapons Guy is a husky ruskie and a man of few words, but he has hidden depths. He's a family man, most importantly, and has been supporting and protecting his mother and younger sisters since his father was killed when he was a teenager. He has a close bond with the Medic and speaks highly of the Engineer ("Engineer is credit to team!"). In a debatably canon piece of dialogue from TellTale's Poker Night At The Inventory, he is revealed to have a PhD in Russian Literature.
Engineer is a texan with 11 PhDs in hard science. He exudes southern hospitality and seems like the most sane man on the team. He also takes great joy in the death and destruction his weapons cause, and ALSO helps the Medic in performing deeply unethical experiments that go against the laws of nature for curiosity sake. He's the third in a line of engineers, btw, and his grandfather basically conquered death. Which isn't super relevant, but I feel is a good lead in to some of the wackier elements of this world I would like to mention.
And every character is like this to some degree. Some more so than others- Soldier is basically just "how american can a man be before it starts impacting his mental health" and Pyro is unknown in terms of nationality, gender, and background
TF2 has a plot by the way! Yes, there is a reason for these many dudes in funny hats to be fighting. They are fighting over gravel. Yeah. So, these two brothers are fighting over land willed to them by their father (who died in the 1890's) which is largely useless aside from having a lot of gravel. Their names are Redmond and Blutarch Mann, and they're the ceos of their own corporations. Reliable Excavation & Demolitions (RED) and Builder's League United (BLU) respectively. They each hired mercenaries to fight a proxy war for them with the goal of owning it all. All the while, a third party, The Administrator, has been playing both sides of the Gravel War to keep it going as long as possible. Why? It's a mystery...
RAPID FIRE TF2 WORLDBUILDING BULLSHITTERY BE UPON YE:
(most of this is just stupid shit that was made up for Pure Random Funny HaHa and has very little bearing on the plot, but tells you a LOT about the tone of the franchise)
Rocket Jumping (that is, shooting a rocket propelled grenade at your feet and crouch-jumping at the same time to launch yourself into the air) was a technique pioneered by Shakespearicles, the STRONGEST POET TO EVER LIVE. He also invented the concept of a Second Floor in a building
Btw, stairs were not invented when the second floor was invented. I want you to take a wild guess how people got to the second floor before stairs were invented. (hint: it involves explosives)
Stairs were invented by Abraham Lincoln. He died due to rocket jumping up said stairs which caused him to accelerate rapidly into a wall. He was also the first Pyro in the 1890s.
New Zealand sank below the ocean sometime in the 40's. By which I mean it was intentionally sank because a Jor-el knockoff believed that the world was ending and that going underwater was the only way to save the nation.
CisMpreg exists. This fact is Medic's fault.
OK But What About Team Fortress 1?
So, its. Not complicated but it's not exactly simple. Quick answer, the original TF game has nothing to do with TF2. Team Fortress was originally a mod for the game Quake and has the same basic gameplay premise as it's successors (team based FPS with 9 classes) and quite a few maps have actually been remade for TF2. It was released in 1996, so, as TF2 was taking A Very Long Time to complete, Valve released a sort of... updated version that was meant to hold fans over. It uses the half life 2 engine, I believe, and was released in 1999. It is called Team Fortress Classic and it's only a LITTLE confusing to research I swear.
TFC takes place in the same universe as TF2, but in the 1930's instead of the 60's. Ignore the scifi/modern looking tech. Don't worry about it. This has no bearing on TFC, really, because it was only confirmed in one of the comics released in 2014. The TFC team matters to the comic plot, but is otherwise kinda just. there. Like, they only exist in the Mann Co No More story line and otherwise just exist.
Fun fact: TFC (the game) was updated to change the ingame class models to more accurately represent the appearance given to them in the comics.
For example, look at the glow up given to the TFC Medic! (original on the left, updated on the right)
In Conclusion:
I will be surprised anyone actually reads all of this, but that is my rambling summary of what in the fuck TF2 is. To be fair, the game is richly detailed but also kinda sparse at the same time. Its all vibes and interpretation my dude. Honestly I think what has made TF2 so popular and long lasting (lore wise) is related to what early FNAF games had going on
#gopher rambles#team fortress 2#long post#im sorry its so long it got away from me. I was hit with the nuerodiverging beam of “someone asked me to explain a thing I like”#if you would like me to ramble about some of the mentioned interpretations and headcanons I'm rotating I would be glad to btw. but its a lo#hope this answered your questions!

Here is some Law x Luffy fan art. Again, it is not mine. Below is the link to the Pinterest page I found it on. The artist is unknown. If you know who the artist is, message me the identity so I can give credit. If you are the artist of the image, tell me so I can give credit or take down the post if you do not approve.
This is a YouTube Playlist for One Piece fan comics. The playlist belongs to Ms.AngeliChemicals, but I don't think they created the comics themselves. Either way, THIS is what got me liking ZoLu and LawLuffy. There are also ZoSan comics, but I haven't read those...
Enjoy!

What are some of your inspirations for character designs and the overall world? Some are very clear such as: Madcom, Adventure Time, All Tomorrows, and The Thief and the Cobbler. I would love to know more about the development and evolution of your ocs :]
get ready your yapping ears XDD
they're all a merge of a bajillion inspirations and original ideas, i gotta credit tvtropes.org for pretty much being the source of every story's ideas haha. was a big fan of taking existing cliches and adding a few what ifs next to it as a basis
(this world is basically just earth but what if plastics are alive and treated life like pollution XD 😭😭😭👍 )
anyway it ruined my life, highly recommend. i can list the tropes i took inspiration from, but i don't want to stray away from the question too much
i'll give the main media inspirations that you haven't mentioned, mostly will be uneths cuz its the most developed
though ironically, I wasn't all too inspired by all tomorrows 🙃 i was already a fan of grotesque designs and human sub-species before discovering it haha
unethical spite
polaroid's design doesn't come from anywhere, generic good guy? lol
i really liked the idea of silhouettes being the main design (where brush strokes within the body disappears instead of defined). i don't always go by that rule though 👩🦽
his personality mainly comes from bunny in boo bunny plague, from how he talks to his actual voice (pol even plays music in regards to the same genre LMAO)
its a mediocre game with a strange story but it holds sentimentality XDD the music slaps though, listen to this
for some reason the ost isn't in youtube, soundcloud or spotify. too underrated i guess. you can ask me for the full soundtrack plus a secret lil comic they got made. im a boo bunny fan i dont care if the story is generic, bunny is polaroid's true parent 😭😭😭
a few others is karl from law of talos (a popular deviantart oc tournament story animated by unknown person. i had a little baby dream of participating one day but i'll probably let everyone kill my characters easily XDDD wish those events came back tho),
shrike by zeurel (now a series named monkey wrench, but originally inspired by the older version called civil war: down to earth. you can still watch the reupload),
and dagur from how to train your dragon series i mean seriously this motherfucker is insane look at him
youtube
and also baldur from god of war 4 man i love insane mfs
he was already loosely south american but my friend gatu convinced me to make him peruvian because of how much things were similar XD i didn't mean it but cool i guess!!! win win
his human design doesn't have much but his ears were very specifically inspired from jumba (lilo and stitch) LOLOL - originally for the pirate au but pol with normal ears uneased me too much so i made it part of canon (and also grub already has similar ears so 🗣️🗣️🗣️) shhhhh they mesmerised me, i could not stop drawing them 😭👊
extra btw, pirate au is inspired by treasure planet 😱
ui's design actually first came from limbo (game by playdead which also inspired,,, well. limbo 👹👹👹 not enough black and white ideas in general 😔)
his shapeshifting ability was originally inspired from generator rex (and eventually akira when i kept hearing it was the inspiration lol). then evangelion, the angels were my favourite to watch XD ramiel best girl real
slowly he's evolved to be inspired by ???% from mob psycho 100, to auditor along with his role being the (false) villain, then to giygas from earthbound (spoilers) which is why he got very big and swirly(?)
i started to lean more on him being those generic sleep paralysis demons or dark lords. because he is one
a few notable mentions for his personality is gunny from boo bunny, and samurai jack. he used to be fully non verbal while polaroid is the talkative one haha
i had a time i was inspired to use music symbols, and this symbol was what fit ui the most (bass clef)
now you can't unsee him too 🤣🤣🤣
his parent arc is inspired from you are umasou (japanese dino movie), nani (lilo and stitch) and god of war 4 (kratos' new voice is the true god 🤼♀️🤼♀️🤼♀️), there's a pretty obscure webcomic by bogleech called awful hospital where the main character (fern) is trying to find her son- another big inspiration
his "goldfish" design is inspired by bloody bunny (semi spoilers, when the sister turns into a monster form), the spaceship from a pilot film called starship goldfish (hence the name pff, i'll wait till the day i die for this series), and a scene in kaiba (2008) where the main character turned into a giant white hippo plushie lol
small warning for kaiba, it looks cartoony but has adult themes. actually many things i shared here has pretty adult themes lmaoekakejdioajdidj
shi xuan used to be my first sona XD obviously all the bad stuff was going to her (spared him by killing her honestly)
he's based on toon link (legend of zelda wind waker), then slowly inspired by lilo (lilo and stitch). looks a lot like frisk from undertale but ironically never inspired XD more on foreigners calling me asian eyes(??)
then umasou (you are umasou), the lost (binding of isaac), and eventually i settled with her being a "pontianak" which is the malay/indonesian name for that popular horror of a woman wearing a long white dress with long hair
i remember he's vaguely supposed to be a living corpse named "pocong" in my language but that idea was scrapped and the body is separated to belong to another dead kid. might get back to that idea one day
his personality is mostly based on a general nihilistic optimist mindset, i have her act a bit more similar to polaroid which got ui bond with her easier. and also why polaroid most likely doesn't like how much she reminds him of himself haha (but if they take the time to bond, he'll like her. in aus only 👹)
benoît is full on just the 1337 agent with a bit of the boy from inside (playdead). he's more based on general tropes of being the villain's goon but put more personality (and not actually being assigned the job XDDDDDDDDD) so he has a lot more original ideas to play with
unrelated but my name mama boy (or motherly boy) came from the fact that i called the boy from inside that purely because of that one moment he met some baby chickens XD a boy who is motherly. for like 1 minute before lauching them to push a box off the ceiling 🤷♀️
the hivemind idea from madcom version originated from inside too
initially i wanted him to be an unseen announcer/narrator like from stanley parable who's less demanding. this was before he got his own design, i could do more with that idea maybe
lauren used to be an entirely cartoon turtle and one of the oldest characters made. im a turtle person so obviously i drew turtle characters with those generic mary sue designs lol
eventually he turned more and more into an angel and i thought why not just make him biblically accurate and turned him into a turtle fetus 💐
meow too started out that way, originally named talo (she still has many names like porlivium but talo is scrapped) and was more leaning on the trope where turtles always had cities on their backs as they move
main inspiration design is that rock from kangaroo island, the other parts of the design is just my own ideas. i liked shadow of the colossus a lot so she was inspired from that world
her main idea is the calling countries a she or he. this was soon inspired to be what all respawns are, being objects with genders even though it doesn't really make sense lol. singapore is called she a lot in her birthday/national day 💃
nowadays meow's starting to become a beetle than turtle, and decided what's the funniest personality i could put on a living piece of the entire world's land? mean girl 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
she used to be bigger than woe and where you look at the sky, she stares back with a more visible massive eye (before she got turned into a cyborg). this idea was scrapped
she soon took the place of ben's role of narrator, though this is more involved on the backrooms saga
high up the chimneys
grub and bee is obviously the thief and the cobbler XD other than that, inspired from bees and mosquitoes, their own professions' outfits plus general contids and porlivean designs and that's kinda it
grub is a take on the trope of the grumpy neighbour next door. except he's shamelessly annoying for no reason, everywhere and you can't escape him. just like mosquitoes XD
bee too is a take on the trope of a goody two shoes that's too much of an optimist. since he's a bee, i made him short tempered and full of ptsd
dr tea was inspired by karl too, but later toned down to just becoming a normal bartender. with a twist of him venting to the drunk people instead of people venting to him BHAHA
syiara (sugar) is a big work in progress, but her uniform design is based on a cockroach lol
coyote is kinda obvious in being inspired by the ending of inside (ifyouknowyouknow)
time to die!
you got the gist of it XD it's pretty much just adventure time but if finn is a psychopath (kinda offset this where he's not that violent anymore, but he's still a psychopath)
pablo aside from finn is also inspired by shrike (hence he uses the orange suit), and found out that finn also uses orange for his pajamas so that's a nice coincidence XD
clyde is jake but design-wise is directly the ship from the season (spoilers) where finn finds the other humans
kiki is literally baby from civil war (with shrike) lmao. sad hes gone though, unless he's hidden in monkey wrench and will be introduced later
carl is.... karl XD 😭 though his idea was from a space dandy episode, if i remember there was an alien species that turns into another character and pretends to be them (the name meow is also taken here but her personality isnt based on the character)
also one reference i kept mentioning is the "my style!!!" quote belonging from adventure time xD forgot which episode. finn got shaved and exclaimed that lol
loop fracture
ken is based off both limbo and inside by playdead, is more a trope of the generic isekai (reversed) protagonist kid but i made him feral 👹
peep is based trico from the last guardian. notable mention (not an inspiration but VERY similar design i found XD) is anna from my daemon. honestly i was shook at this, even had a character that looked like ui and ISNT a villain without reason? ✋ goodbye my originality, i stole from it all along (jkjk
flight or fight
lil' venango is based off a mix of little red riding hood and death. she's mostly inspired by a song called me and mr wolf xD
(the wolf meant to be coyote, whom is to be eaten by venango)
youtube
the world overall is mainly inspired by kaiba (2008), here and there inspired by nevada (madcom), a bunch of studio ghibli movies lol, A PLETHORA of animation student films (notably gobelins, animation workshop, etc) with some usual (+ experimental) animation films independent from schools, and lots of real life places
im sure theres more inspirations i forget to mention, but i've yapped more than enough of the quota for today and my brain has exploded BYE BYE

One thing I have to credit Young Justice for is planting the idea of Zatanna and Tigress/Artemis Crock being friends in my mind.
Back in the Golden Age there was a character called Tigress who was a frequent enemy of Zatara:
She didn't have powers but was a clever grifter and thief whose schemes that Zatara had to unravel and foil. They were also forced to work together in a few instances.
I should note that this is not the same Tigress who is the mother of Artemis Crock we see in Young Justice.
The real name of the Tigress that Zatara fought is unknown.
The Paula Crock version of Tigress that debuted later is a separate character, introduced much later, and was originally the Huntress who later took on the name Tigress as well. (If you're confused why characters and mantles gets passed around randomly, a lot of times its so DC or Marvel don't want to lose the trademark).
The Artemis Crock in the comics is a much different character than the one in the Young Justice show. Some fans want the YJ version to override the comic book version. I don't agree. I think it would be better if they were separate characters. The comic book version of Artemis stays as is, but introduce a version similar to the YJ version but is the daughter of the Tigress that Zatara fought. Maybe give her a different first name (maybe a more Asian name). Zatara and Tigress as enemies but their kids become friends. Added bonus would be Paula Crock and OG Tigress being sisters. That should tie things up nicely.
What do you think?

I may not be a big fan but there is just something unique and fun about stuff from the 1980's-2000's. Two of my novels, TCOTRB (The Case of The Red Bubble) and "AMANDI," were inspired by a lot of the movies and shows I used to watch as a kid.
There are so many of them that it's gonna take us forever if we're gonna have to mention every single one of them. So, let's start off with three of my personal faves: "Cabin In The Woods", "Detective Conan" and "Martin Mystery."
Cabin In The Woods (2011)
I remember seeing this on TV during the weekends when I was about in middle school. It definitely creeped me out and almost kept me up at night because, seriously, imagine finding out there is a secret underground facility that controls these dangerous creatures beneath the cabin you and your friends are sleeping in.
There are various references to ol' horror films and video games such as The Twins from The Shining, zombies from Left 4 Dead, and the Deadites from The Evil Dead. What makes this movie stand out to me is its unique take on common tropes.
For example, you have a freakin' cult pulling the strings on a group of five unsuspecting teenagers, each must fill these archetypes (The Whore, Athlete, Scholar, Fool, and Virgin) and be killed as a sacrifice to The Ancient Ones (who are basically giant creatures that used to roam the earth thousands of years ago).
Detective Conan (1996 - ongoing)
Based on the manga by Gosho Aoyama, the series follows a seventeen-year-old student detective Shinichi Kudo who suddenly gets knocked out by a couple of members of The Black Organization and forcibly given a strange drug that turns him into a little kid.
Now, he goes by the name Conan Edogawa (which is a combination of Arthur Conan Doyle and Edogawa Rampo) and must keep his identity a secret as he helps crack the world's greatest crime mysteries. I used to like how Conan owns these nifty gadgets such as the voice-changing bowtie, stun-gun wristwatch and super-enhanced shoes that enables him to kick objects at a mile away all made by the elderly Professor Agasa.
I used to resent Kogoro Mori as a kid as he was always mean toward Conan. This guy is supposed to be the detective yet sucks at his job. I swear a kid had to put him to sleep and voice as him to explain his findings, then he ended up taking all the credit.
Martin Mystery (2003-2006)
For some odd reason, I was banned from watching this show when my mom saw how creepy and disturbing it was. Let me tell you how obsessed I was with this show. I remember back in elementary school, a couple of friends (who happened to be boys) and I would constantly talk about it.
Now, to those who don't know, the show is centered around sixteen-year-old Martin Mystery, his stepsister Diana Lombardi, and a caveman named Java as they are tasked to solve all kinds of weird mysteries around the world.
They work for a secret organization known as "The Center," which covertly protects the people of Earth from supernatural threats and investigates the unknown and the paranormal. Their boss is known as M.O.M.
Here's a fun fact: The anime was based on the 1980's Italian comic of the same name by Alfredo Castelli and artist Giancarlo Alessandrini. Unlike the series, the comics are much gritty and mature.
I also loved the iconic title cards such as the one above. You have others like "Curse of the Deep," "Beast From Within," "Attack of the Sandman" and "Terror from the Sky." People would say how lame my book titles are but even those basic corny-a** titles didn't stop Martin Mystery, CITW, and other movies from gaining a sizeable fandom.

I was listening to Kevin Nash’s podcast and when he was talking about comic convention autograph areas his cohost Sean Oliver said that a long time ago he once did a voice acting gig for the dub of Record of the Lodoss War and voiced the character Orson the Berserker and it was a non-SAG gig so he worked under a pseudonym and later on he found out that amongst ‘anime geeks’ this was one of the most popular series from that time period and also Orson was like a cult favorite with lots of RotLW fans online saying his English dub specifically added a lot and was better than the Japanese version and how it was crazy that it was done by some unknown VA with a single credit to his name and he was like “yeah and ever since then ive felt bitter about how I can’t ever cash in on some of that autograph money because the credits say a different name but also I kinda scabbed so I deserve it I guess”
I just thought that was a funny instance to find wrestling-anime overlap. The guy that did those Kayfabe Commentaries interviews voiced a beloved character in Record of Lodoss Wars but can’t do anything with that bc he scabbed and understands that was wrong

2024 SDCC – Bear McCreary Panel
Greetings all!
I continue my experience at 2024 SDCC with the Bear McCreary panel titled, “Musical World building!”
Before the panel came to the podium, heavy metal music filled the packed auditorium! 👂 Turns out, this music was from “The Singularity.” You can hear more of this composition by following this link: https://bearmccreary.com/thesingularity/
After the muscial intro, the panelists then came out individually and introduced themselves:
First to the stage was Bear McCreary! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
We Outlander fans honor Bear who has brought us, over the seasons, the most wonderful renditions of the Sky Boat Song! And, of course, we fans are keenly aware of his numerous musical accomplishments beyond Outlander!
Next was Kyle Higgins who was unknown to me but, given the applause, was recognized by many audience members. He is best known for his work on the Batman franchise at DC Comics, namely writing the miniseries Batman: Gates of Gotham and for the Nightwing and Batman Beyond titles, the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers franchise at Boom! Studios, and Radiant Black at Image Comics.
Matias Bergara was next. He lives in Uruguay and is a video game designer, comic book writer and artist. After winning numerous awards in South America, he works almost exclusively for the international market, and illustrated a children‘s book by Neil Gaiman, “Odd and the Frost Giants.”
Last, but certainly not least, was Raya Yarbrough! Raya is Bear’s spouse who was beautiful and poised as always. Raya, is an eclectic poet, singer and songwriter based in Los Angeles. Although she is most recognized as the singer of the theme for Outlander, her voice and original music have been featured in many TV series, including Battlestar Galactica, Marvel’s Agents Of Shield, Da Vinci’s Demons, and Agent Carter. Her album “Raya Yarbrough,” was released internationally on Telarc/Concord records.
We were not allowed to video record this session, but I did make an audio recording. I hope you enjoy hearing the session in its entirety. Here it is!Audio Player

Use Up/Down Arrow keys to increase or decrease volume.
The following are highlights from the discussion in case you missed them.
*Bear talked about working on The Singularity, a graphic musical novel that required collaboration between numerous heavy metal groups and artists of word and graphics including Kyle, Matias and Raya. His goal was to develop one cohesive vision and bring it to life by collaboration. This is the backbone of musical world-building.
In other news, Bear is working on a broadway show titled “Particle Fever!” It is based on the Higgs boson, aka the God Particle, discovered at the CERN large particle accelerator in Switzerland. He claims molecular physic’s time has come! 🤓
Bear said his musical score for Battlestar Galactic is tattooed on his heart because he got his start there at age, 24! However, his favorite score is from Godzilla: King of Monsters!
He revealed that he decided to score an original piece for the ending credits of Godzilla. When the film was first reviewed by the bigwigs, they started to leave as the credits rolled, but Bear asked them to wait. After the credits were done, they exclaimed they hadn’t authorized money for a final piece but he explained he knew that, he just wanted to do it! Presumably, for free! 🤩
*Kyle was asked what he would tell his young self. His answer: “just finish things!” 🤗 He also said clarity is very important. And, conflict with its tension and release plays an essential role in his creative efforts.
*Matias made a comic book out of music. He advised the audience to do things honestly and directly. 😇
*Raya is a poet, song writer and singer and is now a mother of two! She told us her mother wrote “Night Terrors” for Star Trek: the Next Generation. something I did not know! As a busy mom, she has to find time during the day to compose. She says while writing lyrics, she may not know what she is trying to say until she gets to the last line! 😮
Her latest project is a collaboration with Bear based on 82 ancient wheels and cogs found in the sea near Athens. These remnants comprise the oldest known analogue computer, an orrery (model of the solar system), known as the Antikythera mechanism (image below). Raya sings the voice of the machine as they explore its psychology! 🤔
There is much more to hear in the recording so I will close with gratitude for the gifts that Raya and Bear have given to the Outlander community. Looking forward to the second half of season 7! 🤗
The deeply grateful,
Outlander Anatomist

Deadpool & Wolverine Review
Is there a reason I should review this movie? Everyone already saw it and formed their opinion on it. Maybe I should just skip this one...
Don't even think about it thunder thighs! You think you can give this movie the same treatment as Babes? ...Who the fuck are you? Where's Buggnutz? I gave him the week off, I'm just making sure the BEST MOVIE OF THE YEAR gets the proper respect it deserves. Now hold on a sec- Just tell us your history with the franchise Betsy.
Uh... Well I saw Logan Good and only the first Deadpool Unacceptable, should've watched every movie the character has been in before watching this one. Even X-Men Origins: Wolverine? YES! But I don't want to! I know what happens in that movie and Deadpool 2, and I didn't have any trouble understanding the movie! Yeah but if you watched those the trailer would've made you moist, wouldn't've? I doubt it. I like Logan a lot and Deadpool was great when it came out, y'know, when I was sixteen. But I haven't seen either in like 7 years and have no desire to revisit any X-Men movie. I'm just more of an Avenger comic reader, y'know? Fucking liar, you've only got DC comics on your shelf. We fucking caught ya bitch I bet you don't even like the MCU. Hey thanks for that segway!
This is gonna be the first and only chance I get to talk about the MCU this year, unless Venom forgets to take it's medication again, but I like the MCU a lot. More than most reviewers seems to, anyway. I have some differing opinions that some of the other fans too (The first Avengers movie is the best one, eat my entire asshole.) but I liked most of the movies in Phase 4 or 5 or whatever well enough. Hell, I'm one of the like sixteen people who watched The Marvels, and that movie was a lot of fun. If you are tired of the MCU, that's fine. I feel like you can stop talking about it if you want to. Amen and praise Stan Lee, now get to the sticking your dick in the movie! In a good way or a bad way? Up to you *audible wink*.
What's The Movie About?
CAMEOS. CAMEOS CAMEOS CAMEOS. WHAT PLOT IT'S JUST FUCKING CAMEOS. It's more than just cameos dicksquirt. Yeah barely. It's something about Deadpool's timeline being erased and he needs Wolverine for some reason to fix it. And Wolverine's sad because he let his X-Men die. But it's also a Deadpool movie so you don't fucking care. They're lying watch the movie eight times to catch the subtle storytelling they clearly missed. DON'T DO THAT.
What I Like.
The music is good. Hoo boy are we off to a screaming start. Chill. I was just saying that I like that the Deadpool movies use unconventional songs for action scenes, and the Madonna song they use over the final battle was cool. I really liked the cameos that made up the resistance team against the villain. Spoilers artfully dodged, wonderful dismount! And they were pretty much the only cameos I liked. Never mind, tripped at the goal line. The action is also really good. As befits the character, it is brutal and hilarious, but I wasn't expecting the how well they showcase some characters' powers. Weeooo Weeoo backhanded compliment alert! Highlight for me was the fight scene over the opening credits. I really liked the fight and how creatively sacrilegious it was. Plus, some of the humor made me laugh. The send off the Fox Studios over the credits was sweet, and I can see fans of pre-MCU Marvel movies not only getting a kick out of the movie, but really appreciating the fact this movie exists. So that's very nice. Beautifully prosed. Now, everyone stop reading here mmmkay? Just rest easy that some unknown and sexually frustrated fumble-cunt agrees with your pretty little opinion. You don't need to see the rest. Stop driving away my readers! I ain't got much of them to begin with.
What I Didn't Like.
Almost everything good this movie does has some parts that were dumb or annoying. Like half the comedy is obnoxious. God, tell me something new! Kinda like your interruptions, fuckhead! The character of Deadpool is as faithful as ever, which means he can be super fucking annoying. At least the other characters think so too, but it doesn't help that Wolverine saying fuck every other word was getting on my nerves. Pot calling the kettle blaaaaaaack. Well it sounds weird! Also, not only am I trying to cut back on my swearing a bit, but also I change it up every once in a while. Shitheel. Hehehe sweet talker. Now tell me the villain's lame even though you've never read about this character and don't know how faithful she is to the source material. Um, yeah, that's true. But even if she is faithful it doesn't change that she's bland. You thought the finger-mindreading effect was cool, admit it! Uh, yeah also true. But it makes no sense! Who are you, the fucking mind police, fingerbanging edition? Who cares what if it makes sense? It extends to the whole plot though! The time travel stuff (Spoilers) IT'S IN THE TRAILER! Is not cohesive with the MCU explanation as a whole. It would help if the plot wasn't clearly an afterthought, but clearly I'm the only viewer who fucking cares. What? The movie can't make up it's own thing? Not if it's gonna pillage the MCU crumbs for cheap fanservice and jokes! AND SPEAKING OF CHEAP JOKES, why is it funny that Deadpool is gay? Because getting fucked in the ass is funny. Why?! Seriously, sit down and tell me why is Deadpool being gay or bisexual or whatever funny. I'm not saying LGBTQIA+ people are above being made fun of, Soundslikethat'swhatyou'redoing but I just don't get it. And not only is this a well that the movie comes to time and time again, but it's all over the marketing! At least it's better gay man representation than Mean Girls. ...Fuck you. Gladly. Can you at least admit that this movie is too long. What?! Are you on all the cocaine Feige confiscated from the cast/prop department? No, but during for the entire final act I was waiting for the movie to wrap up! And my god! Can a Marvel movie have stakes again? MCU movies have never been great for having plots with lasting consequences, but at least they were good at faking it. THERE WERE TWO MOVIES BETWEEN INFINITY WAR AND END GAME. Wait wait wait, you wanted the movie to kill Wolverine and Deadpool? YES. This is definitely gonna be the last movie where Hugh Jackman plays Wolverine and definitely should be the last Deadpool movie, so why not? Hell, isn't the whole point of the final fight scene to tell us that there is a million versions of Deadpool in the multiverse? So you could totally kill him off and still keep Ryan Reynolds on the hook for whatever cameos you want. Christ Buggy was right, you are a sociopath! WELL MAYBE IF MOVIES STOPPED FAKING CHARACTER DEATHS I WOULDN'T COMPLAIN ABOUT IT SO MUCH. Stakes are only effective if you sometimes follow through with the threats the story gives. Bathos be damned, my balls are the shade of blueberries.
Final Summation.
The movie's fine. After all that? You're not even gonna give us the good shit you whingeing coconut? Well the movie ain't worst movie I've seen in any aspect. It's not the worst superhero, Fox, or Marvel movie I've watched, hell, not even the worst of any of those movies I've seen this year! But it's also not the best thing since self-lubricating dildos. I'm giving it a begrudging recommendation, not that it matters because if you want to see this movie even slightly you already did.
We're just gonna end of self-lubricating dildos? YEP AND YOU CAN LICK MY CINNAMON RING BITCH.

Hello. Hope you are doing well. Are the things written here canon ? And are the Earth Kingdom Chronicles canon ? Thank you in advance for answering. Have a nice week!
Honestly, I'm not sure there's a solid concept of 'canon' for the Avatar franchise.
We could say that everything approved by Nickelodeon is canon, but then that brings in things like the Trading Card Game, and a lot of fans don't consider the unique elements from that to count. Likewise, this policy would include the material from the old website that's archived here, but stuff like Ursa's background has been contradicted by later works.
Maybe we can go by stuff that Mike and/or Bryan have worked on, then? But thanks to Mike's involvement, that would include this information, so are we left to conclude that the 'Bryke Canon' contains contradictions which cannot be reconciled? Or do they have a ranking system favoring primary works over reference material?
And in cases like the Earth Kingdom Chronicles books, it's hard to tell who worked on what. The books are officially credited to Michael Teitelbaum, but they're based to an unknown degree on the episodes of the cartoon. Did Teitelbaum have access to original scripts and/or the completed episodes? Were the books reviewed and approved by any of the cartoon's writing team? Did Teitelbaum have the opportunity to ask questions of Mike, Bryan, or the rest of the writing team?
We don't know and we can't know.
The only statement I've ever seen from Nickelodeon or any of the creatives was a recent quote from Mike regarding the comics, novels, and other spin-off material:
"We've been involved in all those main ancillary stories, so in our minds it's mostly canon. There’s probably some stuff if we may go back, like: 'that doesn’t totally line up with this', so there may be some little tweaks here and there, but as of right now we’re proceeding as if all this stuff is part of the proper universe and hopefully building on it."
So there you have it. The 'Bryke Canon,' at least, makes use of out-of-universe retcons, and seems to include at least everything they've had a hand in. There are no definite boundaries that we fans can know about, and of course Avatar Studios is bringing in lots of other creative influences. For now, Mike and Bryan are still in charge of Avatar Studios, but I have no doubt that Nickelodeon wants the franchise to remain active and profitable for many decades, so it's entirely possible that eventually we'll be receiving major 'canon' works that don't have any involvement from them at all. (I also have no doubt that, at that point, fans will be arguing about whether the new stuff fits with the 'Bryke Era.')
So all this is to say that if anyone wants to cite the Earth Chronicles books as canon in arguments about Azula, you're probably just going to want to say, "those kiddie book adaptations say this" and leave it up to your audience how much credence they want to give it.

Full accountability: Y'all can think I'm stupid for this if you want. I don't care. Just please don't post that in the comments. I know.
I've been really trying to be noticed in creative spaces my whole life. I know it's hard because of the BPD, because setbacks always feel like rejections. But now I'm almost 42 years old, and it's becoming harder and harder to make friends or even connections.
I remember back when I played on MU* games, there was a huge creative community that I desperately wanted to be part of. But my art was never good enough for them to want to embrace me into their circle, and one was actively hostile toward me and I never discovered why. I was undiagnosed and I probably tried way too hard to be liked.
That's just a little background.
But I've always wanted to work with other creative people. I always just miss the boat, either because I'm too cautious or I just don't understand certain trends until it's too late. And fuck, it's so lonely. I talked to my therapist about this the other day, because I really thought I found a kindred spirit in the comic artist I was working with for the NSP comic, but I must have said or done something wrong, because when the comic was finished, he stopped responding to me. And it sucks.
My therapist says she thinks I'm too careful and that puts people off. Like in the critical "are you friend or acquaintance" stage, I always come across as wanting to keep the other person at arm's length. That wasn't the case before. Before, I'd rush in too fast and put people off that way. I can't find the happy medium.
So now for the stupid part I promised y'all, because I'm 99.999% sure this ship has sailed. And I'm gonna censor this, because I don't want fans to find it and make fun of me for it.
A couple years ago, I realized that 4rin from G4me Grmps would be the perfect VA for my audiobook. I knew I'd have to come up with a lot of money to get him, because he's a professional voice actor and would have to be paid SAG/AFTRA rates, but I started hearing his voice as Meadow. I started writing Meadow with lines he'd actually say.
And you know... I actually thought it would work out. That I'd email him and make a professional offer and he'd get back to me and we'd work out a contract. I thought, you know. I'm not well-known in the creative community, but I think if I make a decent offer, he'll at least respond.
And I thought I actually had a good shot. Actually, I was sure it would happen.
I emailed his agent twice and got no response. I even sent the offer, which was a reasonable starting point for negotiations. I mean fuck. I researched this. I found the sweet spot for him in particular. I looked up the proper wording. I offered my phone number for any questions and I NEVER do that.
I really, really hate that I have no credits to my name because I never get a chance to make any. I hate that my lack of credits leads to more dead ends. And I'm completely sure that because I am an unknown name and there's no reason for anyone to trust me, I'm passed up on multiple opportunities.
I just need a break. I just need someone to give me a chance.
Even stupider, I sent a cameo request to someone which was essentially asking if I could send ANOTHER cameo request to interview him for research for my second book. I stated that an interview would be better. I hoped he'd let me email him. I cannot write this part of the book without help.
I know this was dumb. But I really hoped we could work something out without me having to come up with the money for another cameo. I think if my name was more recognizable, maybe he would have given me that convenience. But I'm no one, and I'm stuck there.
People tell me to keep trying, but how much can one person try before they're just exhausted. I AM still trying. I'm pushing myself to my limits. I'm tired. I want other creative people out there to want to know who I am, but even my friends are encouraging me to stay in my lane. And... what if that IS my lane?
I know deep down that it isn't. I know it's not in the cards for me. I'm getting too old. I'm not someone people look up to or want to talk to. I haven't been able to distinguish myself in the 41 years I've been on this planet.
The only thing to do is to keep trying. But I'm realizing more and more that my efforts are wearing me down to nothing, and eventually I'll need to stop and accept that I'm not worth it.
