Stuff I could talk about for days include: Nico and Mark's friendship.
PR or not, everything I've seen of these two are very sweet. Mark was Nico's first teammate in Williams, and even though I don't know much about their time there, they seemed to get along well.
They seemed to be closer when Nico joined Mercedes, and Mark was in Red Bull. I don't think Mark took on any role of mentor or role model because Nico had his father, Keke, but I do think Nico looked up to Mark as someone he respected and thought was a good driver.
They seem to get along well, even now, and I would love to see if I can find more photos and stories of them. If you have any, please don't be afraid to send them in, I love having f1 photos!! ><
The next part is from an rpf view, so you don't have to read it.
From an RPF viewpoint, I can understand why there aren't many fanfics, but it also came as a shock to me how many romantic there were compared to platonic. With the amount of photos and interviews they've shared, even being teammates at one point, I expected more fics.
They're a rare pair, even when romantic. (As of 16/02/25) there are 5 platonic fics and 27 romantic fics, they aren't breaking any barriers. (I've even written 2 of the 5 platonic fics)
The reason I assumed there would be more, is because they are both a part of two VERY popular ships. Brocedes and Martian/sebmark have huge numbers, and they were both in the sort for many years, even at the same time.
I prefer them as a platonic, and I guess this post is me advocating for them. :) they deserve a lot more fics 🗣

Hi! I hope you are doing great. Can you please do a detailed reading about Charles Leclerc future spouse? Who is she? Her character, job, look etc. How they going to meet and their first impressions about each other? What charles' friends (especially close ones) and his family (especially his brothers and mother) will think about her? How they will confess their feelings to each other? What are fans and society going to think about their relationship? Will the relationship be successful? Thank you :)
Hm so I’m getting….blond-ish, blue eyed. They’ll meet through work. Character….well they could be a bit abrupt and brutally honest at first but their honesty is one of their best traits, they wear their heart on their sleeve. Charles’ family already loves them and has known them for a while. Their job is…..multiple F1 world champion. The relationship is giving written in the stars, casually embedded in the very fabric of the universe kind of thing.
#serious talk: I deal in two things: 50% F1 analysis and 50% RPF delusions for funsies#I do not believe any drivers are actually dating#I’m not comfortable discussing the drivers’ actual personal lives that they keep private and I will certainly not do tarot pulls for it#Go somewhere else for that kind of stuff please#lestappen#f1 tarot#anon#asks

I raise you: it's actually the Ship of Theseus's rpf.
In many years I have been into fandoms, I have noticed rpf is generally ill-perceived, but can redeem itself under the right circumstances.
For example: shipping, to say, Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc is frowned upon as rpf is generally frowned upon because it involves real physical people. Now, I say physical, because the general opinion of fandom seems to vary when different bodies are involved.
Take the case of The Social Network, David Fincher's movie about the creation of Facebook. In that movie, which indeed tells the real story of how Facebook was created, real person (now it's not the time for the reptilian allegations) Mark Zuckerberg is portrayed by actor Jesse Eisenberg and his then friend, real person Eduardo Saverin, is portrayed by actor Andrew Garfield.
I have noticed it is perceived as more acceptable for people to ship Mark Zuckerberg and Eduardo Saverin when it's specified that one is shipping specifically their "movie versions", played by actors. There may be two reasons for that, both equally valid and not mutually exclusive.
The first is that any movie based on a true story is inherently rpf, and that's a fact, as rpf stands for Real People Fiction and that's what a movie always is- fiction, it doesn't matter how close it tries to be to reality; therefore, people can say "David Fincher, the director of The Social Network, already did rpf with that movie: I didn't start the fire, I am simply making the most of the heat and the light".
The second reason is because, I have noticed, by shipping Mark Zuckerberg and Eduardo Saverin played respectfully by Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield you are shipping "different bodies" than those of the Zuckerberg and Saverin. When you ship Mark's and Eduardo's movie versions, you're not actually thinking of billionaire Mark Zuckerberg and businessman Eduardo Saverin, you're picturing actors Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield in cosplays. The logic that "justifies" rpf seems to be: I just happen to think the actors who played these people would look hot together and the movie (or whatever fictional adaptation, really) gives them a chemistry that clearly did not exist in real life and that's what captivated me. I don't ship the real people, but the distorted versions, therefore fake, unreal characters that the movie presented to me.
Basically, you need to be able to prove that the people you are shipping (A and B) may have the same name and same life of people who actually exist (C and D), but they are NOT the same entity. A and B do not actually exist, they just bear resemblance to/they are merely inspired by people who do exist, in the same way that often art imitates life. And of course it's easier to separate A and B from the C and D when they are also "physically" different, when they are physically different entities: in the case of The Social Network, A and B are Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield, C and D are Mark Zuckerberg and Eduardo Saverin. They are, quite literally, different people.
That's when the Ship of Theseus comes in.
Quoting Wikipedia, The Ship of Theseus, also known as Theseus's Paradox, is a thought experiment and paradox about whether an object is the same object after having had all of its original components replaced over time, typically one after the other. In its original formulation, the "Ship of Theseus" paradox concerns a debate over whether or not a ship that had all of its components replaced one by one would remain the same ship.
Which, translated in rpf fandom, means: is Markwardo (the ship between Mark Zuckerberg and Eduardo Saverin in the movie The Social Network) still an rpf ship if it doesn't involve the thought of the physical entities of Mark Zuckerberg and Eduardo Saverin nor is based on real (just supposedly realistic) moments and conversations and chemistry the actors had in the movie?
According to a section of fandom, no, Markwardo is not an rpf ship, in the same way that, even if you swap the original components of the Ship of Theseus with newer, (nearly, in our case) identical ones day by day, the ship you come up with is NOT the Ship of Theseus anymore. It's simply a reconstruction, but not the same.
Now, that's when the fun comes in.
Brad Pitt's garbage on fire of a movie chronicle-of-a-blockbuster-disaster-foretold. The Idiot (official nickname for Pitt from now on) decided to put ACTUAL drivers in the movie. So you might say "oh well real people real rpf, case closed" BUT NO.
You see, although the drivers will be playing themselves, there will probably still be a huge amount of fiction in The Idiot's movie. Everything that they will do or say will still be scripted as far as we know. Imagine it like this.
The Idiot wants to make a movie about F1. He wants it to be a movie about real people involved in F1 + his self insert character. It's not different than any time travel movie you've ever seen in which the main character gets to meet Leonardo da Vinci, Marie Antoinette, Napoleon, Genghis Khan, and people of the sort and they tweak history a little bit. It's the plot of many Doctor Who episodes. It's the plot of Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.
"Oh, but those movies are set in the past, the drivers are alive right now-" so you're basically saying rpf is fine if enough time passes. Got it. Then why are you even reading this?
Imagine: The Idiot writes roles for Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, Charles Leclerc, but they're all roles meant to be played by actual actors. Give you a few names just for kicks: Max is played by Josha Stradowski, Lewis by Lakeith Stanfield, Charles by Generic White Actor With Wavy Brown Hair.
The actors will follow a script, everything they do or say will be fiction at its best trying to emulate reality and it's okay to ship Josha Stradowski and Generic White Actor With Wavy Brown Hair, because they just happen to bear resemblance to Max and Charles, but their actions, their words, their chemistry is completely fictional, right?
But, here comes something unexpected: Josha Stradowski takes up a role in a much bigger movie, Lakeith Stanfield retires from acting and Hollywood manages to run out of Generic White Actors With Wavy Brown Hair (I know, unbelievable). The Idiot turns, therefore, to his only alternative: he asks the drivers to play themselves. They accept.
Mind you: Max, Lewis and Charles would still be acting following a script. They wouldn't act naturally or say everything they really want to say or act as friendly or as unfriendly as they truly feel towards eachothers: they would still be playing a character, it's just so happens that character is a distorted, therefore fake, untrue version of themselves. In even easier words: they are lying, everything they are doing is fake.
So, does it still counts as rpf?
To answer that, back to the Ship of Theseus. We said that, in Markwardo's case, the Original Ship of Theseus is different from the Recostructed Ship of Theseus, because the two ships (in the literal and fandom sense) only shared a name: Markwardo, referring both to the rpf ship between Mark Zuckerberg and Eduardo Saverin (the Original Ship of Theseus) and the technically-not-rpf ship between Jesse Eisenberg playing Mark Zuckerberg and Andew Garfield playing Eduardo Saverin (the Recostructed Ship of Theseus). And by stating that, we implicitly agreed that the fact that those two ships, the Original (rpf) and Recostructed (technically-not-rpf), share some similarities does not make them the same ship.
Now, as we said, if the drivers were played by actors in The Idiot's movie, then it would be the same situation as Markwardo. But now that they are played by real drivers, do things change?
It's still the Ship of Theseus paradox, but inverted: if we replace enough components of the Recostructed Ship of Thesues (the technically-not-rpf ship) with components from the Original Ship of Thesues (the proper rpf ship), does the Recostructed Ship ever becomes the Original Ship back again?
The drivers are still acting, following a fictional script, but of course they will put a lot of themselves in their roles. Now the real drivers and their fictional counterparts share more than a few similarities: other than names and several aspects of their past life, they also share looks, voices, charisma, movements, etc.
Now, here it gets a little tricky, so follow me, because another paradox comes into play: the sorites paradox, or paradox of the heap.
Quoting Wikipedia again, the sorites paradox is one that results from vague preidcates. A typical formulation involves a heap of sand, from which grains are removed individually. With the assumption that removing a single grain does not cause a heap to become a non-heap, the paradox is to consider what happens when the process is repeated enough times that only one grain remains: is it still a heap? If not, when did it change from a heap to a non-heap?
In our case, the paradox is again inverted: imagine we put a grain of sand on a table and asked someone if that's a heap. They will say it isn't. Add one grain at the time until they agree it is a heap and then ask them what was the exact moment it became a heap. What's the lowest number of grains of sand to make up a heap?
How many original components are enough components to transform the technically-not-rpf ship into a fully rpf ship? Is it a matter of quantity (how many components) or quality (there are key components for this transformation to happen, say, the fact that the technically-not-rpf ship and rpf ship share the same physical entities, the actual drivers)?
I do not have an answer for this questions yet, but I know when I will have them: when The Idiot's movie drops. Because then one pf these two things will happen.
Option number 1: the majority of the fandom agrees it's fine to ship the drivers as long as you specify you interpret them as characters in a movie.
If a majority agree with this statement and sentiment, then it means that the Original Ship of Theseus is always and forever will be a separate and different entity from a Recostructed Ship of Theseus. Even if you take all of the pieces from the Original Ship and you use them to build the Recostructed Ship, in virtue of the fact that you have established they are different ideas, they are not and can never be the same entity.
In other words, it would be like displaying a nametag saying "Recostructed Ship of Theseus" in front of a ship that's been built in the same way and with the same components of The Original Ship of Theseus and, in virtue of that nametag, stubbornly refusing to accept they are virtually the same thing.
If it walks like rpf and talks like rpf, somehow it's not rpf.
Option number 2: the majority of the fandom does NOT agree it's fine to ship the drivers even if you specify you interpret them as characters in a movie.
That means we're back to the heap paradox and the one component that makes a heap a heap- which is to say that makes a technically-not-rpf ship a real, proper rpf ship- it's the fact that characters and real people are sharing bodies, it's the fact that they are the exact same physical entities.
So we are back to one of our first statements, that is the problem a lot of people have with rpf is the facts that involves real physical bodies.
A good portion of fandom, then (whatever fandom, not just F1), is not really against rpf per se, otherwise I'd see a lot of people campaigning against every movie biopic that has ever been done- yes, also Rush (2013). ("Oh, but that's different, because biopic try to be accurate-" and often fail, so what's your point?). A good portion of fandom is actually fine with rpf, it's only against it when it involves sex and/or romance.
And, let me be clear, I am not trying to say that if you are okay with movie biopics you also need to be okay with the rpf section of AO3, I have no interest in converting anybody to rpf whatsoever.
But I do think that it's interesting we sort of mutually agreed that it's fine to make fun and speculate and re-tell the life of any famous person that has ever existed as long as we leave untouched their sexual and/or romantic lives, as they are perceived as sacred (amatonormative much, dare I say).
And I also invite people to rethink the formula "I hate rpf/all rpf is bad" unless they really have a bone to pick with every historical novel or biopic out there. You can easily say "I hate when people ship real people/write about real people's love or sex life" instead, and that would be a truer statement and a completely understandble one.
So, congratulations for reading until this point, you must not have a lot to do, and I shall wait until the movie drops to see how this plays out.
Is it actually RPF if the fics are written about [insert driver name here] who is part of the fictional world of the F1 movie?

Inchie we need your words of reason again 🙏 Newer fans have bled over from other hockey rpf and keep crossing lines 🫥
babe idk how wise I am ?? at all but I'm a firm believer in using common sense about rpf. and I haven't personally seen the stuff you're alluding to but! I've seen posts referring to it and I heard smth about another ship suffering a containment breach… so can't hurt to throw my 2c in as well ?? idk?
tl;dr that landoscar is NOT the ship for you if you 're going to try and force it to be "real" in a l*rry way*. this ship adores the real life friendship without having it compete with the guys' other many friendships - and we do NOT hate women and women partners or pretend they're beards/fakes/conveniently open relationship. and we absolutely do NOT push rpf outside of fandom. you'll get blocked/reported if you do. this is NOT the space for you to find your next "omg what if they're actually fcking" ship. Lily and Oscar are basically forever, Lando is rightfully loving his life sharing his beautiful body with people, and the fan fiction for the ship is staggeringly amazing so we're very very happy w the status quo <3
and we do NOT share rpf content with Lando, Oscar, anyone in F1, the families - basically if they're not someone you know solely in fandom, you don't share rpf with them. again, you will not find support for that here.
I "officially" joined landoscar fandom around Silverstone 2023 and these have been the hard lines taken for as long as I can remember and from all of the OG people in this fandom. esp from people who've been here since Oscar's Alpine tweet bc landoscar is unique in not having led with a PR image and we've all gotten to see every nervous, stumbling and authentic progression of their partnership and friendship along the way - at no point feeling the need to cross the boundary between fic and reality. it truly is charming and intriguing and rewarding as it exists in reality!
as far as the 'why' essay I'll drop all that where it can be ignored easily aslfgjalgf
like I said - landoscar has always been the exception of no one ever slipping over into trying to "make it real" in large part bc Lando and Oscar don't do the PR bromance/fake gay/fan service stuff which !reminder! is content in other ships I absolutely eat up and is 100% targeted to me but !! I'm also aware is connected to a lot of inappropriate fan behavior from ppl who blur the lines between amusing PR content and reality. trust me, I had to basically abandon carland0 which was my very first f1 ship bc to this day - fully out in the open - I see casual misogyny thrown around about Rebecca and ppl truly loudly thinking Lando and Carlos - who have always referred to each other as brothers and who laugh at the "gay" stuff they do precisely bc it's not real - genuinely fcked and/or dated. I will never care enough about an rpf ship to willingly encounter that shit on a regular basis. I know there's a lot of good ppl in the ship who don't engage in that stuff but I have such a hard line about wag hate that it's not worth it for me.
ironically or maybe because of, Lando and Oscar are the only drivers to NOT engage in playing gay for laughs BUT also who hit multiple progressive bullet points in things like discussing romance and dating in gender neutral terms and not making a big deal out of consuming or discussing queer media etc. they actually walk the walk in not pushing gender identity or sexual orientation on hypotheticals or on each other. they also don't do any macho/tradmasc behavior with each other or even bro-ey stuff like rough-housing or loud, aggressive humor (nothing wrong with loud bro stuff tho as long as it doesn't veer into toxic territory! I come from hockeyblr originally so it can be really sweet!)
and landoscar is also the exception in that we all ADORE Lily and have zero interest in trying to erase her let alone anyone be hostile toward her. in straight people culture they're basically already married and that's how they were when landoscar started as a ship! a lot of us have regularly made posts similar to this for newer fans to remind them that Lily (and whoever Lando ends up with as a steady partner) are NOT pawns in an rpf game. Lily is a real human woman with a real life relationship with Oscar and while no one is obliged to engage w wag content, respecting her existence is the bare minimum expected.
the last point I should make is that there's a very clear difference for instance on my blog where I see fanservice ship content about say charl0s or frand0 or n0rtrell and lose my mind over it and love it etc. but then there's Alex or Rebecca or Pietra on my blog! bc I can have fun without erasing women or losing common sense!!
whereas whenever I post stuff about a friendship that rly does make me Feel Things and write my insane essays, it's bc of what the relationships verifiably are and not what they aren't. Max F truly has a complexity and level of depth in his relationship with Lando that is unique and special to each other's lives. in the same way, Lando and Oscar truly do have a particular charm and fondness for each other that's made them approach each other unusually tentatively and slowly - while also having such intense blushing fondness as well as a uniquely intriguing maturity to their professional partnership. this stuff is fascinating and those two examples in particular swim around into all kinds of social/emotional territory.
in ways that do not require conspiracies and fan theories of them fcking or dating to make them compelling.
(and tbh the fact that Lando has some form of "crush" on a lot of handsome men and subconsciously/consciously "flirts" is absolutely fine to enjoy... as long as none of it gets outside of fandom.)
and the fan fiction for landoscar is truly TRULY staggeringly prolific and immensely talented so that's where we go for imagining them in any other type of reality <3
*do not get mad or whatever abt this - if you did or still do just want to ship l*rry privately then whatever but that's the like terrible gold standard for horrific real life repercussions of taking rpf seriously and why fandoms should never ever allow that to happen. there's no debate about that.
#inchreplies#landoscar#mctwinks#twinklaren#using all the tags bc if this is genuinely a problem then we gotta root it out#as someone who makes content about this one ship I am not saying I'm like a major blog or anything#just that with a certain amount of followers it's definitely smth I should weigh in on if that makes sense#wank adjacent#pinned post

Looking for a place to make some new friends in the world of F1 without having to worry about being flamed for loving and supporting your favorite driver? Bored over the long breaks? Wanting to connect with people who enjoy the sport as much as you do?
Consider joining my F1 Server - it is a place where you can indulge in F1 content of any kind (we have numerous different channels for all sides of the fandom, ie; rpf, fanfic, art, news, rumors, schedules, general f1 discussion, ect) as well as spots for other sports, other motorsports, and places where some members stream video games (like F124, F1 Manager 2024, ect) and movie nights, art streams, ect as well!
We stream all races, qualifying, and majority of FP's live for those who do not have access to watch them! (We also stream old races from previous years during breaks as well! Currently making our way through the 2016 season!)
Hate for drivers is not allowed. Opinions are not blocked, you are more than welcome to calmly and respectfully dislike drivers, as long as you are not hating drivers, calling them names, wishing crashes or harm on them, ect. And as long as you understand that every driver has a fan, and some people may speak up about what you have to say.
In general, I would say we are one of the safest F1 spaces you can have right now, and we have a well-trained mod team in place to keep it that way! We just want to develop a little community for people who want to enjoy the sport and their drivers without the pressure that comes from the rest of the internet tearing them down for who they support <3
Everyone is welcome! All ages, as well! We have a complex system in place that keeps minors from being able to access 18+ adult channels, but the majority of the server is family-friendly.
Feel free to join us! We would love to have you!!

some light thoughts re: sports rpf 4th wall discussion
i made that post in like 5 minutes so didn't really delve into any of the specifics or considerations for any of these fandoms, but this is something i've pondered frequently and written about before:
tbh to me the notion of user-locking fic on ao3 is less of a moral stance and kind of more like, keepingthepeace SEO reasons "do you really want your rpf to be a google hit" and knowing that there are people who lack public twitter linking etiquette who will inevitably blast rpf and invite critique from normie-leaning fandom users... but i think everyone is entitled to their own take and opinion of how fandom limits should be maintained/delineated
that being said f1 rpf is kind of a unique space because its massive boom is entirely and objectively dts dependent — even though it's had its core ships beforehand its growth in the past few years has been nigh exponential in comparison to hrpf remaining mostly linear throughout the years. hockey functions strangely as a fandom space because it's both more insular and accessible but also in a way more resistant to narrative manipulation... of course the reporting is highly market-dependent and some places are batshit but there are just SO many players and teams that the focus is spread out across the continent, and there is no well-oiled dts-feeding machine regurgitating the same rivalry narrative 24/7 in 50 languages to the extreme degree that f1 is capable of.
perhaps some of it is that hockey has learned its lesson the hard way multiple times, both in the lj/ao3 space and in the booktok space, but it's (not justifiable but) understandable that a fandom like f1 focused around such a tiny network of inaccessible and (in most cases) born-massively-wealthy from a pr circus of Ship Names Peddled By The Official TikTok Accounts has a feeling of "otherness" that makes it read similarly to an rpf fandom like k-pop, where the language/cultural barrier to western fans incentivizes them less to ship things in a private/restricted bubble.
at the end of the day i like locking fic because it's just been ingrained in me from 10+ years in hockey rpf... but people will be people. the post was not meant really as a direct critique but just a presentation of facts that everyone can do with what they wish to!

I’ve been having some Thoughts™️ on the F1 related situations on social media and whatever lately, and I wanted to put them to paper and post for people to read if they wish. Warning, it kinda jumps around, but I have ADHD so I apologize in advance.
More assorted words below the cut.
[Disclaimer, this is not about the people who write RPF, this is about people hating on and discussing the real people, not fictional versions of them.]
Everyone is on their first year of life, which means mistakes are going to get made. [I’m not going to go into how I feel about the decisions McLaren’s been making, since that’s not the point here, nor is it relevant.]
Some of y’all are acting like you can go in there and do something different without seeing or knowing the whole picture. You haven’t sat in on a team meeting or anything like that, sit down.
Questioning people’s morals is also a really low blow, because we don’t see that much. You’re not their family or their friends, and what we see during a weekend on the track can be easily misinterpreted. It’s not always going to be true to life, especially with the high adrenaline.
While you can speculate all you want [you have free speech, after all], remember that these are real people you’re talking about, and not goddamn barbie dolls. Having free speech doesn’t give you a free pass to be a dick to people and situations you don’t truly know anything about.
As for Lando and Oscar, they’re full grown adults, and they’re completely within their rights to either be friends or not be friends. Either way, that is their choice. If they want to make being friends work while also being competitive? They’ll find a way, just like everyone else has done since the beginning of time.
They’re also completely capable of defending their own careers and decisions. In the end, they’re answering to their team and their team alone, not you. If you don’t like that, too damn bad, I’m sorry they have free will and that that offends you. [/sarcasm]
Yes, everything McLaren posts is going to inherently be positive PR. So is everything every other sports team or business posts, even outside the scope of F1. Get used to it, it’s not going to change. This also means that media in general will take opinions, snapshots, and just about everything else, out of context. Media literacy is a thing a lot of people have lost, and it shows.
To conclude, none of us as fans will ever get the full picture about things, and we’re just gonna have to deal with it. But knowing that you don’t have the full picture is the deal here. You can’t say you know it all when you don’t. Don’t claim you do, because believe me, we truly have no goddamn idea. Hating will get you nowhere, and it won’t change anything that’s actually happening in the real world.
Go touch some grass, disconnect, and chill out. The world isn’t ending.
[P.S. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk <3]

Whenever someone tags one of my posts or asks with ‘fic ref’ or something it always makes me smile because in my brain there’s like F1 RPF and then a random break where they are discussing track characteristics and race strategies.
I know that’s likely not the case but that’s what I end up imagining
#I personally don’t read rpf not really for morality reasons - you do you but it just personally doesn’t appeal to me#but yeah please keep tagging random posts of mine with fic ref because it makes me giggle to imagine that

The F1 Tumblr Fandom Book Club!
Via. Discord!
For a while I’ve been wanting to pursue an idea of mine within the F1 rpf community and I’m excited to finally have (almost) finished this project! 🫶
The F1 Book Club is a discord server I have been making that intends to allow members of certain f1 RPF ships to share fan fiction that they have read with one another and discuss it! ❤️
So far there are 8 ship categories:
Max Verstappen/Charles Leclerc
Lando Norris/Carlos Sainz Jr
Nico Rosberg/Lewis Hamilton
Daniel Ricciardo/Max Verstappen
Lando Norris/Oscar Piastri
Oscar Piastri/Carlos Sainz Jr
Charles Leclerc/Carlos Sainz Jr
Non-specific F1 driver/Non-specific F1 driver
There is also a general F1 chat, general ship chatting and an area for music recommendations as well as an area for writers to promote their own fan fictions for others to see! 💕
This server won’t be strict, I promise. The rules aren’t fully finished yet, neither is 100% of the coding, however if I get a good number of people who want to join the server, it will be up and running soon for you to join!
I’m not planning on this server being too huge or too complicated, it’s simply intended to be a space where readers can share and discuss stories with one another in a specific area and overall just have fun!
Please note if you are under the age of 18 and wish to join, you must disclose so and will have limited access to some of these stories. You will be removed from a group if ever a story containing NSFW content is chosen to read. NSFW content will be disclosed beforehand.
Also please note that this server is a safe space to discuss stories without judgement. Fandom spaces are for fun! <3

sometimes i think you all just see lewis as an addition to your favorite white boys...
Y’know anon that’s genuinely something I do try to address and reflect on within myself often
I step back from things a lot now, especially when I think I haven’t done so enough recently. I was a Lewis fan long before I was a George Fan, and my relationship to why I’m a fan of Lewis goes far deeper than anything to do with George, and revolves around how his activism made me feel like F1 was a sport I might find acceptance in. He has always created a safer space where I felt like I could belong a little bit. He’s still the only space I get that feeling other than with other Lewis fans I met via him.
I do focus on his relationship with George here cause, to be fair, this is an RPF blog. It brings me joy, We are playing in fiction, not trying to make calls for him, and I try to distinguish ship posts from true meta discussion.
But I also talk about it because I think their partnership over the last 3 years dispels a lot of horrible rumours Lewis gets stuck with- that he’s not a good teammate, that he doesn’t play well with others or is selfish and isolated. Lewis went out of his way to help George feel at home and valued, worked hard at their relationship, and respected him on the track. I think that shows so much about Lewis as a person people could do to learn. I think Lewis deserves more credit as a caring person.
My complex feeling about the Lewis move have little to do with a sense of loyalty to Merc (ew god no) or George, and are mostly about a genuine worry Ferrari will fuck him over, and treat him like dirt. I think Lewis deserves so, so much more than what I think they want to give him, and I do not feel safe in Ferrari spaces right now. But there would be no greater joy than to be wrong about that and see him claim another team his own and make them better. Grief and hope are emotions that exist together.
#anonymous#asks#when I post about Lewis staring at George it’s not cause oh perfect pedestal George#ew#it’s about the fact that Lewis is deeply caring I think#and this idea he fobbed George off for years and laughed at him#is detrimental to Lewis’ image? I don’t think he’s a cruel person like that#even to drivers I wish he WOULD#he’s got a kinder heart than I

Come Join the F1 Family Server 💕
We are a small group of about 40-something people who are very loving, open, and easy to make friends with. If you're looking for a crew to run with, consider ours!
We have:
All qualifying and races are guaranteed to be streamed. Practices are usually streamed as well, depending on the times. There's a live chat for us all to type/text with each other and often times I'm throwing interesting transcribed radio messages in there (since I monitor them on the F1 Multiviewer).
There's a dynamic schedule in there for all events that translates to your timezone.
F1 Fantasy is played in there, and there are channels for streaming games as well.
There are spots for news, rumors, pets, memes, fanfic/rpf, general F1 discussion and off topics.
There's threads for other sports and other motorsports as well where all also tend to watch things with each other, like hockey and NASCAR and indycar, ect. There's football as well.
No mics or voice chatting is enabled for now. This can be unpredictable and make some people uncomfortable, so all chatting is done via typing/texting. This is also to keep audio lines clear when watching races.
We have movie nights often as well, where we just get together as a little community and hang out and watch stuff.
Everyone is welcome. As long as you promise not to viciously bash drivers and treat everyone with respect, we got you. My fiancé Stuart and I are the only two mods and we are super chill.
If you've been looking for someone to share races with, to make friends with, to discuss live events in a live chat with, come hang out with us 💕 you can even mute us until race days if that's your preference!

wahh thank u @scrappyracers for the tag i enjoyed ur answers a lot :') f1 tag game...
Who is your favorite driver?: i am an oscarybro first & foremost <3 he's the only driver i truly rep because honestly i don't think i have the bandwidth for more even if i wanted to/tried!!
Do you have other favorite drivers?: i would basically put alex below oscar in his own little tier and then it's just like [WALL]... but i'm also fond of yuki + lando + lewis and respekt maxv :') the rest of the grid i honestly don't think about 99% of the time LOL not in a bad way but because i barely have enough energy for My Guys as is u know
Who is your least favorite driver?: 😔 i feel bad sharing hateurisms on my family friendly blog.
Do you pull for drivers or do you like teams as well?: def drivers first but i genuinely like mclaren as a racing outfit so that helps!!! when oscar was still in alp i suffered so much because of it being a deeply unserious team and even back then when the cracks were still forming this was fairly evident because i had a rossi agenda, so i was like wegghhhh i guess i can enjoy a williams stint/swallow down alpine content for him. 😔 and then he replaced [answer to question above which at the time hindered my mcl support significantly] and i got the ultimate driver pairing at a team i'm actually quite fond of ❤️🤍🖤
If you like teams, what team do you pull for?: any1 else papayapilled??? 🧡
How long have you been into F1?: a little over 2 years!!! how i managed to get into this sport via an inactive reserve driver i don't know.....
What got you into F1?: several friends were getting into it & were reading mxl fic & things of that nature and even though i wasn't really invested in any of the ships presented i ended up biting as well... but fsr i was not compelled by most f1 content / barely watched dts and instead got reeaaally into feeder series, i think perhaps because at the time i was fascinated by prospect projections + mapping / modeling career trajectories + the idea of "ceilings" in hockey and was watching a ton of jr hockey so it kind of translated over and i got to enjoy masterclasses like litr the most broken broadcast streams ever of kimi driving off into the distance in adac f4. But anyway... i also watched chasing the dream and became obsessed with oscar from that and the rest was history 😌🐨🧡
Do you enjoy Fanfic/RPF?: i definitely read it!!! RPF Is Fine etc. i've written 2 effwon fics very poorly and that's it but i peruse the 814 archives regularly..... i forever need to be better at commenting and feel very bad about my own shyness but i think this fandom has such a wealth of incred authors whom i am always in awe of x__x 🧡 tho i will say i'm also a stickler for the 4th wall and it mildly horrifies me that 814 are 75% public..... also fun fact 814 is my favorite oscar ship but it's only my #3 lando ship LOL. j(e|o)ndo you are so special 2 meee
How do you view new fans?: well i'm a relatively new fan so 💗 honestly i barely witness or process most fandom discourse wrt: gatekeeping the sport or dts fans or what have you since i do not frequent those circles of the internet (no public twitter / have never downloaded tiktok in my life) so i don't even know the primary arguments!!
If you could take over as team principal for any team, who would it be and why?: i should never be put in charge of anything. now i'm just trying to think strategically like okay where would i want to live but even then i have no idea...
Are your friends and family into F1 as well?: my family could not care less but def the former !!! 💗 going to my 2nd gp soon with my beloved chirlie friend who has been with me thru k-pop fandom for like 8 years now hehe
Are you open to talking to other fans/making friends?: yes i'm just very shy & have multiple anxiety disorders Amongst other things so pls forgive my neuroticism 😭😭😭 but i love 2 have discussions.... oscar piastri lore is my passion in fact <3
0 pressure tagging @bright-and-burning @piastrisms @miamimaiden @goingxmissing If u would like !!! these r fun qs i like hearing about people's fandom journeys/experiences hehe :')

Do you have like vettonson canon events that you would love writers to adapt more in fic? Tbf vettonso on its own is considered rareship if we use ao3 fics amount as the source.
Well, first of all I think vettonso is a rarepair by any dstretch of the word, AND it's a difficult ship to write. It's not exactly that their moments are few and far between, but rather that I feel like it takes a lot of inference and deep knowledge to really interpret it, imo. I mean, I've literally been obsessing over this ship for over a year, and I still feel hesitant making big conclusions. It's really difficult to ever get a straight(ha.) answer about their motivations or what they're actually thinking about each other in a moment or even overall. However, that's why I included that Abu Dhabi '22 picture in my prev ask, because I feel like it's a really earnest, honest, clear moment and easy to interpret. I hope this doesn't sound too pretentious LMAO, like why am I saying all this academic shit about an rpf ship(because I care too deeply.)
To answer your question, I guess personally I prefer fics about broader concepts rather than specific moments. My favorite fic is this one, about them meeting the other's younger selves, and finally being able to come to the realization they aren't so different after all(a thesis I really love and deeply believe in.) This is an example of what I talking about in the beginning of this ask, as this fic is literally built upon soooo much discussion I had with the author about vettonso and this specific concept, which makes the fic so fufilling to me, because I can really feel(and know!) the amount of thought and knowledge put into it! For me personally though, I mainly like to explore broad concepts in different contexts(aka AUs), because I think their dynamic over all is fascinating.
But! For concepts I'd like to see! Here's a few, but not all of course! A fic I'd love to write or see would be about the development of their hugs over the years. I'm dying over the concept of having like a 5+1 or something, of Fernando constantly going from "is this amnt of contact too little?" to "TOO MUCH TOO MUCH!!!" every time he hugs Seb. There's so many cases of him initiating contact and then making it awkward and limp as fuck. I would love to see someone explore his mindset, like seriously, Fernando, what even is this!?!? "Five times Fernando hugged Seb and it was awkward, and one time it wasn't." Also kinda dying at the idea of Seb remincising that Fernando was always the one to initiate hugs, but then looking back at all the pics like, "why did he make me look so clingy???"
I'd also love any fics about them confronting each other about things said in interviews, since I'm always wondering what exactly their intentions are and how the other would perceive it. Particularly, the way Seb was a brat in the media after 2010 and complained Fernando hadn't congratulated him, and Fernando later on was like, I've congratulated him repeatedly, okay??? I would love the behind the scenes of things like that. Fernando showing up at Seb's house like, "oh my god, how much praise do you need to be satisified??" Also imagine Seb calling up Fernando after Fernando said Seb couldn't achieve the same things if he was driving the amr23, just dryly being like, "Oh so you think I couldn't?"(Fernando is actually just trying to bait him into coming back to F1) I just feel like so much of out perception comes from what's said in interviews, but it doesn't always feel very honest haha and I read into everything way too much. Fernando in anic calling up Seb after he sees the interview where Seb said they never got close, being like "it's never too late to start..."
#tbf whenever i see a pic or clip i start drafting a fic in my head just for me#for vettonso you dont often get a really clear answer on what they actually think imo#its also of course blurred by having such intense championships#so i love fics that explore what they actually think yknow#confronting each other about various things#hope this was a clear answer :)#catie.asks.#vettonso
