thank you to all of you on here for making this absolutely topsy turvy up and down f1 2024 season so enjoyable ❤️ I’ve had so much FUN just yapping and discussing and rpf-ing on here. For now we rest and recuperate, and then come back in 2025 for the Charles Leclerc WDC FORZA-

he may not realistically be in the battle for the drivers championship anymore, however that doesn’t at all minimise just how proud i am of all lando has achieved this season. 3 wins (including his maiden), 7 poles, 12 podiums, leading his team to first place in the constructors championship, securing the most points of any mclaren driver in history. and that’s just on track, off it i am immensely proud of his growth too, from being someone who always saw everything as glass half full and was always so hard on himself, to the way he now talks in interviews you can see his confidence and belief in his own abilities has come on so far (as it should). it’s so nice to see how far he’s come from the little boy who started out in f1 so many years ago. maybe this year wasn’t his for the championship but mark my words, his time will come.

in 2010 a trainer named Nick Nuzlocke entered the championship bracket. soon after his victory he was disqualified and arrested on roughly a dozen counts of pokémon abuse and criminal negligence

Fun fact: McLaren have scored 1102 points from 2021 to the first half of 2024.
Fun fact: 152 of those are Danny Ric. 264 of those are Oscar Piastri. 686 of those are Lando Norris, that’s well over half.
Fun fact: Lando had a 130 point advantage across ‘21-‘22 and has a 140 point advantage across ‘23-‘24 thus far.
Thank you and goodnight.

also just because he's having a kid doesn't mean he will retire. he did say less than a week ago that he believes they'll be competitive in 2025 and he still enjoys the sport and wants to keep going for a while longer. seb, kimi, checo, kevin, nico, all raced even after they had children. let's not increase the urge to go into panic mode, verstappies.

If Red Bull's upgrades at COTA are not significant and Max has his hands tied because of the capabilities of the RB20 then Charles could end up playing a crucial role in whether Max becomes champion this year or not. The Ferrari has looked competitive recently in Charles' hands, if he can take a win or two then it will definitely help Max but if he starts splitting LN and Max it's going to really make things difficult for Max.
Btw this is not downplaying the fact that if Max is champion then it is purely on his merit given how amazingly he has driven this year. Hopefully you all know by now I would never downplay Max's talents! I am just thinking of the outright pace of the respective cars over the next few races and what could play out.
If Charles is going to be fast I am going to need him to be super fast so he is ahead of the Mclaren and not splitting the Mclaren and Red Bull. The end of the season is going to be interesting and will probably end up a significant time in Lestappen history - please let it be for positive reasons 🙏🏻

so if quali isn’t run the starting classification is set via a previous session. you would thinks it makes most sense to use the sprint quali, considering it’s a qualification session in the race weekend itself. instead it appears the FIA is going to use FP1…lando norris was p1 and max verstappen was p20 in FP1, but im sure that has nothing to do with anything!

Okay, look. This sums up the problem with the stewarding inconsistencies in a nutshell.
On the basis of what happened with Max, this is a cut and dry, slam dunk community service penalty. So why is there now a question mark over whether it should be? Because he apologised? Because it's Charles? The guideline they penalised Max under doesn't make any exceptions for circumstance, so there's absolutely no way Charles shouldn't be receiving the same punishment.
And I think Max's punishment is ridiculous. I think swearing penalties are an overreach, but if you've set a precedent only a few races previously, you can't alter your application of the rules because the public reaction to the last time was overwhelmingly negative.
They've made a rod for their own back and now they have to apply it consistently. What exactly are they 'assessing' here? Whether Ben Sulayem wants it? If they don't penalise Charles then how are drivers supposed to know what the expectation is? Either EVERY instance of swearing needs to be penalised, or they have to rewrite the regulation. (Or remove it entirely)

i honestly believe lando needs to be more concerned about charles and oscar catching him than how close ehe is to max. if he’s too focused on purely beating max, he could finish abu dhabi in p4 in the wdc
