Love me again
Ezra Bridger x fem!Jedi!reader
Word count:2.1k
Warnings: !SPOILERS! for Ahsoka Ep. 6, minor injuries, canon typical violence, you can maybe notice that I was a bit pissed at Sabine-
Summary:After being knocked out by Baylan Skoll, you regain your senses on his ship as a prisoner on your way to find EzraâŚand Thrawn
Part I (you are here), Part II
Masterlist
âEzraâŚplease, don´t goâ
âWe will see each other again, I promise.â
âEzraâŚâ
âI love you, Y/Nâ
Your head was pounding, as you slowly came back to your senses. Memories of conversations long ago haunting your dreams and making you want to wake up again.
âEzraâŚâ, you mumbled, as your eyes slowly opened, the world before you still blurry.
âEasy there, you hit your head pretty hardâ
As you finally managed to gain your full consciousness again, you realized that the person in front of you, very much wasn´t Ezra. It was Sabine. You looked at her with confusion written all over your face, as you slowly sat up.
âSabine? Where are we?â, you mumbled, taking in your surroundings. It looked like you were in a small prison cell. Only a bench adorned the dimly lit room. Taking another look at Sabine, only confirmed your suspicion.
âWe were captured.â, Sabine finally said, after a few moments of silence, âBy Baylan. We are currently on the way to the place where Ezra is.â
âAnd Thrawn.â, you mumbled to yourself, as bits and pieces of what had happened on Arcana came back to youâŚ
Fear filled your eyes, as you arrived at the battleground. Ahsoka was fiercely fighting Baylan Skoll, trying to obtain the map.
âAhsoka!â, you yelled, as you grabbed your own lightsaber, joining in to the battle.
Just in time, you jumped forward, preventing Ahsoka from being cut in half and pushing Baylan back a few inches.
âGet the map!â, Ahsoka instructed and you nodded at her, ready to sprint towards the small orb, but before you could reach it, a blazing red blade appeared right in front of you, blocking your path.
âNot so fastâ, Baylan mumbled, preparing to strike, but you managed to block him beforehand. Your lightsabers colliding in an explosion of colors, as your green blade pushed against his red one. And those few moments were already enough for Ahsoka to lunge forward and grab the map. A scream of pain left her lips, as the glowing orb burned her skin and she dropped it to the floor.
Momentarily distracted by your companions' actions, Baylan managed to push you back. You only had seconds to react, but you were too slow. You felt the burning pain in your hand, as Bayllan hit you with his lightsaber, causing you to drop your own. You looked up at him, thinking that he would kill you right then and there. But instead of impaling you, he used the force to send you flying against one of the gigantic stone pillars, knocking you unconscious almost immediately.
You heard Ahsoka yell your name, but what happened afterwards was not known to you.Â
âWhere is Ahsoka?â, you finally asked, after a few minutes of thinking. Sabine looked at you with sorrow in her eyes:âSheâŚShe was fighting Baylan, when I arrived, but he knocked her over the edge of the cliff. I don´t know if she's alive or not.â
âAnd then what?!â, you pressed, trying not to think about the possibility of Ahsoka being dead,âDid you just give them the map and left her behind?â
âI had no choice!â; she tried to defend herself, walking up and down the small room, even if that were only a few steps.
âI thought she was dead! You were laying there, also possibly dead. I was alone and this was the only way to ever see Ezra again!â, she explained, finally looking at you, still sitting on the floor, leaning against the wall.
âSabineâŚâ, you began, taking a slow breath in,âBelieve me, out of all people that you know, I am probably the only one who understands how much you want to see Ezra again, but preventing Thrawn from returning to our galaxy is more important. We can´t let him start another war. That's not what Ezra wanted. He made this sacrifice, so that Thrawn would forever be exiled and now, we have to make sure, it stays that way.â
Before Sabine could say anything, the door to your prison cell opened and two Storm Troopers entered.
âTime to get up!â, one of them said sternly, as he grabbed your arm, harshly pulling you to your feet, while the other grabbed Sabine.
It took you a few seconds to gain your footing, the blunt force that had caused your knockout on Arcana still affecting you. As the Trooper realized you were struggling to stand, he pushed you forward, causing you to stumble to the ground again.
âGet going already!â, he yelled, as you slowly stood up again.
âHey, she's injured!âSabine yelled, but the Troopers ignored her. As you were finally standing on your feet again, the Trooper grabbed your arm again and they both started escorting you and Sabine out of the prison cell.Â
After a few minutes of walking in silence, you finally reached your destination. You couldn`t believe your eyes, as you took in what was in front of you.Â
Grand Admiral Thrawn himself was standing there, waiting for you and Sabine. He looked exactly like you remembered him. His red eyes bored into your skull, as he looked you both up and down.Â
âSabine Wrenâ, he said, as you came to a halt in front of him,âAnd Y/N L/Nâ
âThrawnâŚâ, Sabine said quietly, looking at him with the same disgust in her eyes, as he held for her.
âWhat a delight it is after so long to see familiar faces.â, Thrawn continued, not one ounce of emotion in his voice,âI understand it is you I have to thank for my escape from exile.â
âWhere is Ezra?â, you finally spoke, ignoring his question entirely.
âAh yes.â, he smiled, looking down at you,âThe desire to be reunited with your long lost LoverâŚâ, he briefly turned around to Sabine,â...and Friend.â
He paused, looking to the ground for a second:âHow that singular focus will reshape our galaxy.â
âJust answer the question.â,Sabine interrupted him, anger lacing her voice.Â
âNo need for hostility.â, Thrawn smiled, as calm as someone who was about to start a new war, had ever talked.
âI´m aware of your agreement with Baylan Skoll, and I intend to honor it.â, Thrawn continued to explain as he turned away from you. You eyed Sabine from the side, as she had never told you about any agreement.
You watched how a Storm Trooper with a patchwork armor of white and gold walked over to you, taking off your cuffs.
âYou shall have provisions, a mount, and our latest intel on Bridger´s whereabouts.â,Thrawn revealed.
You furrowed your brows in confusion:âSo, that's it? You´re just gonna let us walk out of here?â
âYou two helped my cause. Now I shall help you.â, Thrawn explained with a little bow of his head,âYou should know, though, that once my starship departs, you´ll be stranded here forever. It's also quite possible that your friendâŚis dead.â
You shook your head, a sarcastic grin lacing your features. You knew that he had to be up to something. He would never just let you walk out of there.
âIf you survived, I'm sure he's doing just fine.â, Sabine suddenly said, her voice sounding like venom.
Thrawn seemed to be agitated by her statement and stepped towards her concerningly slowly:âYou have gambled the fate of your galaxy on that belief.â
âYou wouldn't understand.â, Sabine countered, staring up at Thrawn with nothing but hate in her eyes.
Even though you knew what she meant, you couldn't help but agree with Thrawn. You had to find Ezra now or else, everything would be lost. You needed to turn this battle to your favor or the galaxy would fall into darkness.
After a few seconds of silence, Thrawn looked over to you, inspecting your face for any signs of disagreement, but you didn't let him see your concerns, so he finally looked back at Sabine:âPerhaps not.â
âWe'd rather not waste anymore time.â, you interrupted their little conversation,âWhat kind of ride you got around here?â
After being given back your belongings, you were escorted to your ride. Much to your and Sabine´s dismay, it wasn't a speeder, but a domesticated creature called Howler. It apparently went by the name Tota.Â
You looked at the creature for a few seconds before stepping forward and petting it´s snout. Tota happily licked your hand in response.
âYou're injured. You ride.â, Sabine said, patting your shoulder, leaving no room for protest. You only nodded and mounted the Howler, as Sabine grabbed the leash.
âBe warnedâ, One of the Troopers instructed,âNomads wander this wasteland and prey upon each other for survival. Here are your weapons.â
He first handed Sabine her two blasters and then her lightsaber, before walking over to you. The man pulled out your lightsaber and you were relieved to see that it was still intact.
He stepped back, ready for your departure:âDie well.â
You eyed him for a second before turning around, as the door in front of you opened. Sabine led the Howler outside and the doors closed behind you. Now, you were on your own.
To say that your ride through this wasteland was eventful, would be an understatement. You were out for maybe an hour or two, as you were attacked by those nomads the Trooper had warned you about. Much to your dismay, Tota jumped in panic and threw you off before running away.
Luckily, You and Sabine had managed to defeat the attackers, before anything worse could happen. It also didn't take you long to find the Howler again. Sabine was heavily against taking him with you again, but after a bit of convincing, she accepted him and you continued your journey.Â
Which led you to where you were right now. Following a small creature you had encountered, hoping they would lead you to Ezra, even though you didn't understand a word they said.
You had grabbed Tota´s leash firmly, to keep them away from the small creatures.
âIt's alright, Tota.â, you mumbled, staying back a bit to calm the Howler down. You smiled as one of the people gave you an unknown fruit. You took it, thanking them before trying to feed Tota with it. They smelled it first, before finally taking a bite, judging that it was tasty.
Your eyes widened as you were led to a village. You saw lots of small tents, at least a hundred people running around doing Maker knows what, but most of them were looking at you curiously, as you entered their home.
âI knew I could count on you.â
Your Head shot up as you heard his voice. A few meters in front of You, Sabine turned towards a small hut, presumingly staring at a Person you couldn't see from where you were standing. You watched how a smile unfolded on Sabine´s face before she stepped forward.
And so did Ezra.
You only took in his form as they started conversing. He was much taller now, his long hair hanging around his face, that was adorned by a beard. You watched how the two of them hugged each other, you finally decided to step away from Tota and closer to them.
âEzra?â, You said quietly, your voice trembling, as his eyes finally landed on your form. The smile on his face dropped, as seriousness that you never seen on him before, took over.
âY/N.â, he mumbled and only seconds later, he ran towards you, engulfing you in his arms.
âIt's really you!â, You exclaimed, tears in your eyes as you wrapped your arms around him. Ezra happily lifted off your feet, spinning you around.
âIt's really me!â, he smiled, as he let you to the ground again. You looked up at the boy you loved. He had grown into a man. You smiled as your hand cupped his cheek. He immediately leaned into your touch, closing his eyes.
âMaker, I missed you so much.â, he mumbled, putting his hand on top of yours.
âI missed you too.â, You smiled and looked into his eyes. His appearance might have changed, but his eyes were still the ones you fell in love with.
âI'm gonna kiss you nowâ, Ezra muttered and you only nodded, before his lips collided with yours. And that's when you finally felt the relief of having him back again. His beard tickled against your skin, as he poured all his emotion into the kiss and you felt connected to him even through the force.Â
You were gasping for air, as you finally parted again. A soft smile now adorned Ezra´s face and he leaned forward to give you another kiss on the forehead.
âI love you, Y/Nâ, he said firmly. And this time, you got to reply to him. Finally, after all this time.
âI love you too, Ezra.â

lost and found - ezra bridger
Request: nope Pairing:Â Â ezra bridger x jedi!reader Summary:Â Â along with the remainder of the ghost crew and ahsoka, you're trying to find ezra Warnings:Â Â HEAVY SPOILERS FOR AHSOKA S1!!! im warning u dont read this if u havent seen all of it yet Word count:Â Â 1.1K A/N:Â I survived the war (im posting fics again) but at what cost (brainrot has taken over)
your music is blaring through the speakers of your ship as you're working. though your ship isn't in need of any repairs, you're always finding new modifications and additions to upgrade it. at this rate, it's unrecognisable as the ship you once got from a sketchy dealer on an outer rim planet.
working on your ship is also a way to distract yourself. when you're focused on working with your hands, your mind doesn't wander off.
it doesn't wander off to hera and jacen aboard the ghost. it doesn't wander off to sabine and ahsoka on her T-6 shuttle. but mostly, it doesn't wander off to ezra. you try not to think about the fact hera is on an unauthorised mission, that you haven't heard from sabine and ahsoka in a while which is unlike them, and that you feel like you're not even a little bit closer to finding ezra.
even though you haven't seen him for years, you refuse to believe he's gone. you tell yourself you would simply know if he didn't make it. before you lost him, the two of you shared a strong bond in the force. you figured if something had happened to him, you would have felt it.
but after all of these years, it's hard to hold on to hope. you really want to. but at some point logic has to take over.
though recently, hope has sparked in you yet again. with the map ahsoka found, the chances of finding ezra have increased. you are optimistic again.
but the search hasn't been without danger. even now, you're worried.
which is why you're working on your ship. otherwise you'd just pace around or stare off into the distance with your mind running around in circles getting lost in the "what ifs".
a faint beeping sounds pulls you out of your thoughts. you get up from your position underneath one of the main consoles and get your comm.
'general syndulla for commander y/l/n.' comes hera's voice.
'go for commander y/l/n.' you say.
'hey y/n, where are you right now?'
'just working on my ship in the main hangar back on base.'
'new modifications again?'
'yeah, yeah, I know. "a good ship doesn't need modifications." well, I like them. the ghost could use some upgrades as well, you know.'
'no thank you, my ship is perfectly fine.'
you chuckle as you wipe your hands on your pants.
'have you heard from sabine and ahsoka yet?' you say. 'and when are you coming home from this unauthorised mission?'
'sabine and ahsoka are alright, we're actually on our way now. and we have some news regarding ezra.' says hera.
'you have news on ezra?' you say, unable to hide the relief in your voice. 'do you know how to find him? or where he is? is he okay?'
'we'll talk about it in person. we should be arriving soon.' says hera.
'I'll wait for you.'
'see you soon.'
hera disconnects her comm, leaving you alone with the music again. your mind is racing. they have news on ezra. you knew it, he's still out there somewhere. you're sure of it.
you quickly put the panel of the main console back and tidy up your tools. just as you pause your music and exit your ship, you see the ghost and ahsoka's T-6 shuttle getting closer to the hangar.
you anxiously await them, watching as they carefully land. the shuttle door opens and sabine and ahsoka come out of it.
sabine smiles as you half walk, half run up to them and pull them both into a hug.
'I'm so glad you guys are safe.' you say. 'it scared the shit out of me when I couldn't contact you.'
'we're alright.' says ahsoka, patting you on the back.
you pull back to look at them. they both look tired, but other than that they seem fine. sabine has a twinkle in her eyes and smile on her face.
'what is it?' you say. 'do you know something about ezra?'
'yeah.' says sabine. 'but hera should tell you.'
she points to the ghost, where hera has just exited the ship. jacen follows her, but is looking over his shoulder and talking to someone. at first, you assume it's merely chopper.
but as they walk further down, you see it's not chopper at all. it's a young man. he's wearing colourful robes and has a beard and curly hair.
it doesn't matter he's older than he is in your memories. it doesn't matter he still has the same eyes and the same scar on his cheek. it doesn't matter something in the force tugs on you so strongly, as if it has found its home.
none of it matters, because you would know him anywhere, in any universe, no matter who you are.
ezra. your ezra. talking with jacen as if nothing had ever happened. he's here, he's alive.
a sob escapes your mouth as you take off.
'ezra!' you yell.
you don't even bother to hide the tears as they stream down your cheeks. after all this time, he's finally here.
for a brief second you see his smile before you crash into him. you wrap your arms around his neck and bury your face in his neck, holding him impossibly close. you're never going to let him go.
words fail you as you just cry into his shoulder.
you feel ezra's arms around your back and get lost in the feeling. it's all so painfully familiar, as if no time had passed at all. yet you know everything has happened since the last time you saw him.
you slightly pull away to look at him.
ezra is smiling at you just like he did all those years ago. though he's older, he's still the same. still the same kid you met on the streets of lothal.
you reach out and brush a finger over the scar on his cheek.
'you're here.' you say breathlessly.
'I am.' he says.
you'd heard his voice in your dreams and memories and the recording sabine still has. but this is different. it means everything and more to you.
'you're as beautiful as the day I lost you.' you whisper.
'I dreamed of this day.' says ezra. 'thought about all the things I would say to you. it all seemed so simple. but now? I have no idea. nothing seems like the right thing to say.'
'but it is simple.' you say. 'I love you.'
ezra smiles even brighter. 'I love you too.' he says. 'I always knew I would see you again. we have a lot of catching up to do.'
you smile as ezra leans in and kisses your forehead. you'd finally found each other again.

This is so seriously cute
Cookie Wars
Day 17: Gingerbread
Ezra Bridger x reader
Word Count: 1.3k
Note: This is a fluffy one. Just Ezra and Reader being cute and couple-y while making some cookies.
A fresh wave of cinnamon-scented heat hit you in the face as you pulled the next batch of cookies out of the oven. It was all sweetness and spices in the small kitchen you worked in. You were making gingerbread cookies forâwell, not really a victory celebration, more like a hey, weâre not dead yet gatheringâto keep up the morale. You had the time for it anyway since you had a little break from the usual anti-Empire antics at the moment, and Ezra was busy training with Kanan. Setting the tray down on the counter to cool off, you focused your attention on your next task, your favorite one: the decorating. You had an array of different colored icings and sprinkles and all sorts of candiesâpretty much all the sweets you could get your hands onâset out and ready to make your cookies pretty. Loading up a piping bag with some plain white icing to start with, you grabbed a cookie from your first batch and set to work. You had made your gingerbread people in all different shapes, making sure to include your Twilek and Lasat friends, and you couldnât forget a certain sassy astromech, of course. You were nearly done with your first little cookie person, just finishing up the candy blaster you were putting in its hand, when you heard your boyfriendâs voice behind you.

summary: "Though all Mandalorians placed heavy emphasis on the value of their beskar armor, for some it was just armor, a thing only to be taken up in a time of war. Others believed that to remove your helmet or even so much as a glove around another living being was to make yourself an outcast. Most Mandalorians fell somewhere on the spectrum between them, and house Wren and its clan leaned towards the latter, not allowing themselves to remove their helmet. Their custom held one distinct caveat: once a Mandalorian had chosen a partner, a partner for life, their souls bound by a tie no man could severâ then, and only for them, could they remove their helmet, and share their face for the first time with another living soul." or, "the au in which ezra falls for sabine without even seeing her face" word count: 7927 words a/n: I hope you guys are having a great week! the good news is that I'll hopefully be writing more fic over the next couple weeks! the bad news is that that's because I'm on crutches at the moment and avoiding doing fanarts for related reasons⌠let's just say, I now know firsthand that getting stabbed in the foot REALLY hurts. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy this fic, because I had a lot of fun writing it! also on ao3!
This is (Kinda) The Way
There were two kinds of people Mandalorians disagreed withâ others and themselves. For every disagreement a Mandalorian had with an outsider, they had even more among their own ranks. Customs, traditions, and language were the biggest one, especially when it came to the one thing that united them allâ their armor.
Though all Mandalorians placed heavy emphasis on the value of their beskar armor, for some it was just armor, a thing only to be taken up in a time of war. Others believed that to remove your helmet or even so much as a glove around another living being was to make yourself an outcast.
Most Mandalorians fell somewhere on the spectrum between them, and house Wren and its clan leaned towards the latter, not allowing themselves to remove their helmet. Their custom held one distinct caveat: once a Mandalorian had chosen a partner, a partner for life, their souls bound by a tie no man could severâ then, and only for them, could they remove their helmet, and share their face for the first time with another living soul.
đ§Ąâ˘đâ˘đ§Ą
If this were a normal day, Ezra would be sitting on the familiar outskirts of his home city right now, feasting on whatever he could get his hands on. Instead, he was on a starship in the vacuum of space, with a group of rebels who thought it better to steal for others than for themselvesâ and somehow, it felt right, not just helping others, but the people he was helping others with.
In the few days he'd been on the Ghost, he'd gotten to know everyone pretty well. Hera was kind and brave, Kanan was cranky but meant well and cared about people almost as much as Hera did, Zeb would flatten him if he got within two feet of himself or his food, and Chopper loved nothing more than making others miserableâ overall, it wasn't an awful combination.
The one member of the crew Ezra had a hard time connecting with was Sabine. Maybe it was because of how she'd shrug him off whenever he'd talk to her, or the fact that she didn't eat in the galley with the rest of the Spectresâ but more than likely, it was because she was always wearing that helmet, and the armor that (mostly) matched it. He'd never seen her without it, and from what he'd gathered, no one else in the crew had either.
That afternoon, he'd run into her in the galley, as she was grabbing a meal to take back to her room. No one else was around, so he figured now was as good a time as any to risk a social blunder.
"Why do you always wear that armor?" Ezra asked.
Sabine stopped partway through the cup of juice she was pouring herself, just for a moment, then continued.
 "I'm a Mandalorian," Sabine said.
"Okay?" Ezra shrugged. Mandalorians had come to Lothal before, and they'd had no problems with taking off their helmets. "I've seen Mandalorians take off their helmets before."
"Well, they must not've been from clan Wren," Sabine said. That was the closest she gave to an explanation before storming off, much faster than normal.
Ezra told himself not to replicate that mistake again.
đ§Ąâ˘đâ˘đ§Ą
"Can I talk to you?" Ezra asked, taking a seat in the cockpit diagonal from Heraâ Sabine's seat, he could tell from the paint job, but she wasn't around anyways at the moment.
 "Sure," Hera said.
"I just," Ezra sighed, "I know you're the best person to askâ that is if I don't wanna get laughed at for asking or end up getting my question answered with two more questions I don't know the answer to like Kanan always does."
Hera smiled a little as Ezra said that, which he added to his mental folder of What Exactly Is Going On Between Kanan And Hera, Anyways?
"Why doesn't Sabine take off her helmet?" Ezra asked, "I know lots of Mandalorians who do, well, one or two of them, and I don't really personally know them, but..."
He could tell his question had been a serious one to Hera, because when he asked, she turned away from the ship's controls for the first time since before he came in. Instead, she turned to Ezra, her hands folded in her lap as she leaned toward him.
"Not all Mandalorians are the same," Hera said, "just like not all Twil'eks, humans, or Jedi. Different clans have different customs they adhere to."
Ezra nodded. That kind of made sense.
"What happened to the rest of Sabine's clan?" Ezra asked. It was hard to tell exactly how old she was because of the helmet, but she didn't seem too much older than he was, and he'd never heard mention of her family.
"Mandalorians are a brave people," Hera answered, slowly, "fierce warriors who don't like change in their customs and traditions. Naturally they're not the kind of people the Empire likes having around. I never asked questions when we found Sabine, at least, not after I learned she wouldn't answer them."
Hera shook her head, and Ezra nodded. The Empire had probably done the same thing to Sabine's family that they'd done to his.
"Armor is important to a Mandalorian," Hera said, "handed down from generation to generation. It might be one of the only things she still has."
"I get it," Ezra said, and stood up to leave.
"One more thing," Hera said, and Ezra turned back to her, "she may have a rough exterior, but that doesn't mean she doesn't need a few good friends."
Ezra nodded. If there was anyone who seemed hard to make friends with, it was Sabineâ so if there was anyone who needed friends, it must be her.
đ§Ąâ˘đâ˘đ§Ą
Even in the midst of yet another heated disagreement with Chopper and Zeb, Ezra wasn't gonna abandon Operation Be Sabine's Friend, so when he saw her painting in her room with the door open, he only felt it right to stop and say hi.
"What are you working on?" Ezra asked, leaning his arm against the doorframe.
"A little piece I like to call 'none of your business.'"
"Okay," Ezra shrugged, "well, if you ever get tired of painting 'none of your business' and need inspiration..."
"I'll be sure to look elsewhere," Sabine said, then mumbled something under her breath in some language Ezra didn't understand.
Ezra didn't have time to ask what that meant before Chopper zoomed by, running into Ezra and almost knocking into him, and leaving Ezra to forget about his quest to befriend Sabine.
At least, until that night, when he counted it a victory that Sabine had painted himself and Zeb on the wall of their room, even if it was the most humiliating representation of him he'd ever seen.
đ§Ąâ˘đâ˘đ§Ą
Ezra knocked on Sabine's door, and was surprised when she actually opened it this time.
"What is it?" Sabine asked, arms crossed.
"She must be in a better mood than normal today," Ezra thought.
"I just," Ezra shrugged, "I know you like doing art and painting and stuff, and you do a really good job at it."
 "And?" Sabine asked.
"I," Ezra pulled a stormtrooper helmet out from behind his back, "I wanted to know if you'd paint this for me?"
 "Why?"
"I wanted a helmet to wear on missions," Ezra said, "that way no one knows who I am."
"What, using other criminal's names as an alias just isn't cutting it for you?"
 "I'm serious," Ezra said.
"Then wouldn't it be better to leave it plain?" Sabine asked, though she took the helmet from him, which was a good sign, and she held it up and surveyed its surfaces.
"Nope," Ezra said, "last time I went in there with a white bucket, Zeb said he couldn't tell the difference between me and the troopers and knocked me out cold. I don't want him to have that excuse anymore."
"I'll see what I can do," Sabine said. She closed the door before Ezra could get another word in, and he didn't see her for the rest of the day.
đ§Ąâ˘đâ˘đ§Ą
 "Look alive, Jedi!"
Ezra looked up just in time to see an unidentified flying object hurtling towards his face, and surprised himself by catching itâ this Jedi stuff was really paying off. He looked at the large chunk of plastoid in his hands and quickly recognized it as the helmet he'd given Sabine the previous morning, though now it had a fresh paint job. Ezra didn't know much about art, but he could recognize Sabine's handiwork.
"It's perfect," he said, looking up overtop it to see Sabine, seating herself proudly on the table he was sitting at.
"It's nothing," Sabine said, "the only thing better than painting is defacing Imperial property in the process."
Ezra smiled as he tried the helmet on, suddenly remembering something else he'd takenâ or, helped take, anywaysâ from the Empire.
"This is great," Ezra said, then leaned closer to her, "I just might commission you to work your magic on some other stolen Imperial property, if you're up to it. Something much larger than a helmet."
He could hear the excitement in her voice, despite how hard she tried to hide it.
"What do you have in mind?"
đ§Ąâ˘đâ˘đ§Ą
"A TIE Fighter?" Sabine asked, standing outside the cave on Lothal not long after, "are you crazy?"
"Come on," Ezra said, wondering if this was a mistake, "you said you wanted to deface government property."
"How did you even get a TIE Fighter here?" Sabine asked.Â
She walked around the fighter, clearly studying its surfaces as though envisioning what they'd look like when she was done with it.
Ezra smiled. She'd already taken the bait.
"Zeb and I may have 'borrowed' it when we went on a wild meiloorun hunt," he explained.
"Yeah," her helmet peeked out around the wing she was standing behind, "and Kanan and Hera told you to destroy it."
"I know," Ezra fake-sighed, "but our options were blow it up without the best explosives expert on our teamâ or leave it as a canvas for her next masterpiece. I guess the choice is up to you..."
 "Go grab my spraycans."
đ§Ąâ˘đâ˘đ§Ą
Ezra had never watched Sabine work before, but she'd said he could stay as long as he kept lookout at the mouth of the cave and didn't say anything, and Ezra took that as a step up from the usual.
He bit back his hundreth question in the last few hours, knowing that if he was going to get Sabine mad at him for talking, it would have to be something a lot better than "is orange your favorite color? Mine too."
He held his hand out and sensed as much as he could, every Loth Rat and Loth Cat within a good sized radius of the caveâ but not another sentient life for about as far.
The very first orange hues started creeping into the horizon. They'd need to be getting back soon.
He turned back to Sabine, and since he couldn't see her face, he'd learned to read her body language to make up for it, and she seemed to really be enjoying herself and her work.
He'd never seen an artist at work before, and was impressed by how in command of the spraycan she was. Ezra had tried drawing once or twice, and found his Loth Cats looked like angry jogan fruits, and his people looked like a platter of noodles that'd just had a very bad day.
Apparently, reflection on his own inability to draw wasn't the best thing to do on an empty stomach.
But Sabine's art was almost less like a drawing and more like a piece of herself, like maybe if Ezra studied it enough, he'd see all the pieces of her she hid.
And if that was the case, then she must be absolutely beautiful.
"Wow," Ezra whispered, apparently not as quietly as he absentmindedly had thought.
"That doesn't sound like not talking," Sabine was quick to reply.
"Sorry," Ezra shook his head, not even having noticed until now how hard he was staring at her, "I just, how are you so good at that?"
"Practice," Sabine said, "a little hard work and discipline will get you pretty far."
"That's what Kanan's always saying," Ezra rolled his eyes.
"Well maybe you should start listening," Sabine called back, "or, at the very least, stop talking."
"Sorry," Ezra said, then looked back out at the horizon. As much as he enjoyed this secret painting session, he was getting hungry, and knew the rest of the crew would be suspicious if he missed a meal.
"We should get heading back soon," Ezra said, "It's almost dark."
"I'm almost done," Sabine said, adding one last white stripe, "there. Now I'm done."
Ezra got up and walked over to the TIE Fighter, in awe.
"Am I allowed to talk now?" Ezra asked.
"I guess," Sabine said. He could hear the sarcasm in her voice as she packed up her art supplies.
"It's amazing," Ezra said, "way to stick it to the Empire."
"I am pretty good at what I do," Sabine shrugged.
"Oh, more than that," Ezra said, "it's a shame no one else will ever see this."
"It's not about others seeing it," Sabine said, grabbing her case of spraycans, "this one was for me. It's about the process."
Ezra nodded. After seeing how lost in the process Sabine got, he understood why it all meant so much to her.
"Sabine?" he said, as they left the cave.
 "Yeah?"
"Thanks for sharing it with me."
đ§Ąâ˘đâ˘đ§Ą
Ezra had always thought Sabine was cool. He met her stealing from the Empire, and she'd jumped off a rooftop onto a moving speederbikeâ how much cooler could someone get? Combined with the custom armor and quick wit, she was strong contender for coolest person he'd ever met.
And the more he got to know her, the cooler she got. She designed her own armor. She was a weapons expert. She was, apparently, fluent in two different languages, which was probably what made her so quick to come up with insults.
Sabine always knew what to say, good or badâ usually scalding and rudeâ and Ezra didn't mind hearing it. Somehow she could make an insult feel as special as a compliment. It was almost like the sound of her voice was enough to give him unreasonable joy.
"Ugh," Zeb growled one night as he trudged into their room, "why haven't you gotten rid of that thing Sabine painted on the wall?"
"It's not a thing!" Ezra defended, sitting up on his bunk, "it's art."
"It's a stupid drawing of us from years ago," Zeb said, "and frankly, I'm getting tired of looking at it."
"Yeah," Ezra said, "well, I'm not."
He turned his back to him as he laid back down, but not before noticing a smile on the Lasat's face, and he could hear him chuckle over his shoulder.
"That's what I thought," Zeb said, smugly.
 "What?"
"Oh, nothing," Zeb laughed, something surprisingly not unpleasant in his voice.
Ezra recognized that tone. It was the same tone the guys on the base used whenever he'd tell them about the latest mission he'd gone on with Sabine, and it usually carried a "wow, Bridger, when are you gonna just ask the tin can out already?" with it. The other young guys in the rebellion were, well, just that, young guys. They could scarcely go more than five minutes without talking about girls and who was going with who and which girls they would be going with if this war ever gave them a night off, so it was only natural that they'd joke about the possibility that Ezra had a crush on Sabine.
But Zeb? Zeb had never talked with Ezra about girls or feelings or anything like that before, never even hinted at itâ until now. Something about a mostly-trusted, somewhat-wise, maybe-in-some-ways-experienced crewmate hinting at it made the possibility of Ezra liking Sabine made it feel all the more real.
"There's no way I have a crush on Sabine," Ezra thought, "I've never even seen her face before. I mean, she is amazing, coolest person I know. And sure, I like spending time with her, and anytime I start talking to her I don't want to stop, but that's normal, right? And sure, my heart skipped a beat that time she grabbed my arm to pull me out of the way of Imperial fire, but what if that's just the adrenaline of the fight, right? Just because I can't stop thinking about her and want to keep hanging out with her for the rest of my life and feel all giggly whenever I think about her doesn't mean I have a crush on her, right?"
He looked over at her handiwork graffitied on his wall and smiled rather stupidly.
"Who am I kidding?" Ezra sighed, "I definitely have a crush on her."
đ§Ąâ˘đâ˘đ§Ą
It wasn't too long before Ezra had realized that not only did he have feelings for Sabine, those feelings were growing. More and more frequently, he caught himself thinking about her when he was supposed to be doing other things like Jedi meditations and recon missions.
A favored distraction of his male curiosity was Sabine and her constantly shrouded face. He respected her privacy, and never attempted to see her faceâ besides, maybe the mystery was part of the charmâ and often when he'd fall asleep at night, he'd try to imagine what her face looked like. At first, the faces ended up looking similar to other people, girls he'd met on the base, a bounty hunter he'd had a run-in with, or even a merchant girl he'd seen in the village. But every time, she seemed Not Quite Right, and he'd try again. Eventually he started coming up with all kinds of versions of herâ one night she'd be a redhead, the next he'd imagine her with green skin, then after that she'd have eyes that were just black blobsâ it didn't really matter. He'd only ever see her with her helmet on anyway, so what did it matter?
But even with the helmet, anytime she walked in the room, he could feel his heart race like she was the most beautiful girl alive.
đ§Ąâ˘đâ˘đ§Ą
"Karabast," Ezra muttered, jumping back a bit by instinct from the blue milk that overflowed from the glass he was pouring it into and spilling all over his hand, and now onto the floor.
"I should know better than to pour myself a drink when Sabine enters the galley," Ezra thought, setting his drink down on the counter behind him as he searched for a cloth to clean it up with, "a Jedi has to stay focused."
 "Need a hand?"
He heard Sabine's voice behind him and turned around quicklyâ too quickly, as his forehead rammed into helmet.
"Ow!" Ezra said, wondering what could possibly make an armor that hard.
"Sorry," Sabine said, and her gloved hand touched the now-sore spot on his forehead, "are you alright?'
"I'm fine," Ezra said, ignoring the pain in his forehead for the moment. He'd dropped the towel, and now he swirled it around the floor with his foot to clean up the spill, knowing that as bad as the injury was, it couldn't be nearly as bad as what would happen if Hera caught sight of the mess he'd made. "My forehead isn't dented, is it?"
"I'm no medic," Sabine said, opening the conservator and scrounging around in it, "but it looks like it'll be the opposite. At least you'll be able to make up one of your elaborate stories about the bump it'll leave."
"Oh yeah," Ezra said, "about how I accidentally went head-to-head with a Mandalorian and ended up almost literally crying over spilled milk."
She laughed a little at his attempted joke, then pulled a frozen bag out of the conservator.
"Put this on it," Sabine handed it to him, "that'll numb the pain and slow the bruising, or something like that."
"Thanks," Ezra said, and as he pressed the bag of frozen rations to his forehead, Sabine bent down and finished taking care of his mess on the floor.
 "What happened, anyways?" she asked.
"I guess I got distracted," Ezra said, still distracted by her.
"While pouring a glass of milk?" Sabine asked, looking up at him quizzically before turning back to her work of drying up the floor.
"Yeah," Ezra scratched the back of his neck.
"I've noticed you've seemed a little spacey recently," Sabine said, "almost distant. Something on your mind?"
"More like someone," Ezra said, before he could stop himself, and she looked up again before he had a chance to get that stupid love struck smile off his face.
She stopped what she was doing for half a second, then got up off the floor.
 "I gotta go," Sabine said.
 "Sabine...."
She tossed the towel onto the counter behind him and turned to leave, but Ezra didn't want to see her go, not now or ever. He searched his words for something to say that would make her stay.
"I don't know how to ask you out!"
Ezra could tell without even needing to see her face that, as unexpected as his words were, Sabine still couldn't've been more surprised to hear him say that than he was. Still, she stopped and turned halfway back to him, so whatever he'd just done, had accidentally worked.
 "What?"
"Normally if I wanted to ask a girl out," Ezra said, knowing the oncoming ramble was going to sound desperateâ which wasn't entirely inaccurate, "which, technically I never haveâ at least, not with it actually leading to a dateâ but if I did, I'd ask them if they wanna go get dinner, which you, specifically, don't really do with people. So then I'd ask about getting ice cream instead, but then: same problem. So then I've been trying to think of different activities you like that we could do together, but all I could think of is fighting the Empire and defacing government propertyâ which we already do together, and could do more of, but those don't really sound like date night activities, unless we were holding hands, but...."
Sabine had walked over to him while he was rambling, and now she stood in front of him, arms crossed.
"Are you asking me on a date, Ezra?" Sabine asked.
"I'm trying to," Ezra said, "is it working?"
"Me?" Sabine asked, "you want to go on a date with me?"
"That's the hope," he shrugged, "if you're up for it."
"Why?" Sabine asked, "is this some cheap attempt to try and get my guard down? It's not some ploy to try to see me without my helmet, right? Because...."
"I know," Ezra said, "you don't take your helmet off. It's a clan thing. I wouldn't ask that of you."
Sabine took a heavy breath. "You'd really go out on a date with me, armor and all, just because you like to spend time with me? No ulterior motives?"
 "Absolutely."
"And you're okay with the fact that you'd never see my face?"
 "Absolutely," Ezra said.
"How about a holofilm at seven tomorrow night?"
"Eat dinner separately first?" Ezra asked.
 "Sounds like a date."
He smiled as Sabine walked away, unsure how he'd managed to do that, but very glad that he had.
đ§Ąâ˘đâ˘đ§Ą
About halfway through the holofilm, Sabine's hand found its way into Ezra's.
"You're okay with the fact that I'm wearing gloves?" Sabine had whispered.
"Of course," Ezra'd whispered back, his emotions a flutter at the mere fact that she was on a date was him, that her hand was in his at all, even with the layer of leather between them.
Sabine Wren had said yes to a date with him, and now their fingers were interlocked as they watched a holofilm together at the base's rec room. Her helmet, hard and heavy though it was, laid against his shoulder. What more could he possibly ask for?
As they walked back to The Ghost together afterwards, their fingers were still entwined.
Ezra noticed the chill in the airâ he'd been planning on it, and had worn a jacket over his nicer shirt tonight, because he knew either he'd be cold, or, better yet, she'd be cold, and he'd have the chance to do what the boyfriends in all the old holos did.
Much to Ezra's delight, Sabine shivered as a gust of wind blew across the base.
"Those old Mandalorian traditions don't say anything against wearing a jacket over your armor, do they?" Ezra asked.
"Well, no," Sabine said, and before she could say anything more, he'd let go of her hand, taken his jacket off, and draped both the jacket and his arm over her shoulder.
 "How's that?" Ezra asked.
Sabine huddled a little bit closer to him.
 "Perfect," she said.
They walked together in silence for a moment, Ezra knowing full well that if he opened his mouth he'd ruin the moment and blow all chances of a second date.
"Ezra?" Sabine asked, her voice a whisper as they neared the Ghost.
 "Yeah?"
She stopped in her tracks, and he did too.
"Do you want to do this again sometime?" Sabine looked at him, her head barely tilted up, a glimmer of a reflection of the stars in her visor.
"If it's all the same with you," Ezra said, his tone still hushed, "I'd like to do this again a lot more times."
"Really?" Sabine asked, "you wouldn't have a problem going steady with someone you've never seen face to face?"
"Of course not," Ezra said, and he turned toward her and took both of her cold gloved hands in his, "I could spend the rest of my life with you and still not have a problem with never seeing your face."
Sabine didn't respond, and Ezra was bad enough at reading expressions, but especially when he couldn't even see the other person's expressions. Maybe that was too soon, too fast. On any other first date, that would've seemed too forward, but when you've been fighting side by side with someone for years, living on the same ship and sharing your struggles, a first date hardly felt like the first one. Still, maybe something as big as "I want to spend the rest of my life with you," was a little too much for a first date doorstop conversation, and he'd probably ruined his chances right there.
He loosened his grip on her hands, but she tightened hers, not letting his hands slip away.
"I don't always have to wear my helmet, Ezra," Sabine said.
"What?" Ezra asked, "I mean, I know you take it off to eat, and probably to sleep too, and maybe when you use the sonic, not that I've thought about that, but you always have to wear it around others, right? That's what Hera said."
"Hera doesn't know everything," Sabine said, "I can take off my helmet, but...."
Her voice trailed off, but he desperately wanted to follow it. He nodded and squeezed her hands a little, silently pleading her to continue.
"Our clans customs don't say we can't ever take off our helmets," Sabine said, "but that the only person who can see us without our helmets is our ruusaar riduur, our life partner. It's a huge commitment, one that some spouses don't even make with each other."
Ezra smiled. "So you're saying I have a chance?"
"I'm saying there's almost no chance," Sabine said, "like I said, it's a commitment, and I don't do so well with committing to anything, and, besides, we'll probably fall apart before we reach that point anyway."
"Not on my watch," Ezra said, not about to let anything happen to push Sabine out of his life, "and thank you for telling me."
 "This still doesn't change anything."Â
"Of course not," Ezra said, "I still love you just the way you are."
He was barely an inch or two taller than her, but that didn't stop him from standing on his tiptoes, leaning towards her, and planting a kiss on top of her helmet.
"Same time next week?" Sabine asked.
 "It's a date," Ezra said.
đ§Ąâ˘đâ˘đ§Ą
Several dates and missions and trials and soft-giggles-while-staring-at-each-other-from-a-distance-es later, Sabine found herself with the choice to go back to help her people. Though Ezra strongly encouraged her to go, it wasn't without tears on both of their parts, and if it wasn't for the whispered, "I'll wait for you"s in their goodbye hug before she left, he would've certainly assumed it was over for them.
But instead he held out hope for them, trusted that the same force that brought them together and connected them across the galaxy would bring them back together, and his waiting paid off not long after, when he found her in his arms again, this time in a hug that meant hello instead of goodbye.
"I've missed you," Ezra whispered, holding her tightly and not willing to let her go, ignoring for the moment that Kanan and her entire clan were watching them.
 "Me too," Sabine whispered.
He then let her go, knowing he hadn't made a great impression on her family the first time he met them and wanting to rectify thatâ especially when they began the mission to save her father. Maybe he kriffed up in his first meeting with her mom and her brother, but he determined that her dad's first impression of him would be a good one.
đ§Ąâ˘đâ˘đ§Ą
"Are you with my daughter?" Alrich asked, as Ezra jumped in to save him as part of their mission.
"If that's okay with you, sir," Ezra said, then realized the question was about the status of her rescue mission, not the status of her relationship, "I mean, uh, yeah, we're, uh, we're here to rescue you."
Though his answer wasn't more rambly than normal, he felt more like an idiot than normal. Sabine always found his stumbling through his words cute and endearing, but the other Mandalorians didn't appreciate his candid words much, preferring instead to see action. So, Ezra made sure to show plenty of it, fighting alongside them later with such reckless boldness that he took a blaster bolt to the left shoulder and still kept going until the battle was over.
As the medical droid tended to his wound, Sabine sat next to him, holding his right hand lovingly as she sent forth a flurry of angry Mando'an words at him that amounted to a more colorful version of "don't you dare do something that dangerous and stupid again."
"Aww, 'Bine," Ezra smiled under his helmet, (he always wore one of his repurposed helmets on Krownest, to respect her people's traditions,) "I didn't know you cared so much."
"Maybe next time that happens I'll just let you bleed out," Sabine teased.
"You wouldn't dare," Ezra said, "besides, what is it you always say? Something about finding my combat skills and selfless bravery attractive?"
"Bravery?" Sabine asked, "more like borderline stupidity."
"And this one was skillful, brave, and borderline stupid," Ezra said, wishing his helmet didn't hide the playful expression on his face, "admit it, you thought it was hot."
"Maybe a little," Sabine said nudging his uninjured shoulder with hers, "just never do something that ho- stupid again, understand?"
"You and I both know I can't avoid that," Ezra said.
"I know," Sabine faked an overdramatic sigh as she rested her head on his shoulder.
đ§Ąâ˘đâ˘đ§Ą
Apparently his heroics charmed the rest of the clan as well, especially Alrich. Sabine chose to return with Ezra and Kanan to the Rebellion, and as her family gathered to say their farewells, her father bestowed upon Ezra a special gift.
"We want you to have this," he said, and handed Ezra a shoulder pauldron, one that was inlaid with the Wren family crest.
"Thank you," Ezra said, studying the heavy hunk of metal he'd been gifted, then looking up at Sabine's parents with gratitude, "it's a huge honor."
"You were shot protecting our clan," Ursa said, "and Clan Wren honors that. This shoulder guard will protect your arm while it heals. Not even your lightsaber is strong enough to cut it."
"Is this real beskar?" Ezra asked.
"Of course," Ursa said, "it belonged to Sabine's ancestors. Clan Wren has carried it for generations, and counting."
Ezra didn't exactly have time to unpack all the meaning in that sentence, but he was pretty sure those last few words meant something along the lines of Ezra being on his way to becoming part of their clan now, a high honor.
 "Thank you," Ezra said.
"Be good to her," was all Alrich said in reply, and as Sabine's hand slipped into Ezra's, he understood what he meant.
"I will," Ezra nodded, "I don't intend to do anything that stupid."
"He made a promise not to do anything stupid," Sabine said.
"The jury's still out on how long Bridger can keep from doing something stupid," her brother interrupted, "but he's earned my respect."
"I'll take care of her," Ezra said, "and if I don't, well, I have full confidence that she can 'take care' of me, and probably knows at least a dozen ways to hide the body."
"Two dozen," Sabine said, and that's when Ezra knew he'd been on Krownest for too long, because there was something almost romantic in the way she'd just threatened him, and he'd been around Mandalorians long enough that he enjoyed it.
đ§Ąâ˘đâ˘đ§Ą
As soon as they were back on the ship on the way back to the fleet, Ezra took off his helmet. He didn't like how it limited his visibility, its awkward bulk, how heavy it made his head feel. He then took off his gloves so he could fluff his hair up a littleâ another thing he couldn't stand about his helmet was how sweaty it made his hair, and somehow at the same time staticky, clinging closely to his head in a way that didn't feel natural.
He heard a sigh behind him and saw Sabine sitting on the bench he stood next to, the chin of her helmet resting on her fists, her arms propped up on her knees, apparently watching him with great interest.
"What?" Ezra asked, smiling as he sat down next to her.
"I've missed your stupid face," Sabine sighed, her gloved hand running along his scars as though she thought she'd never see them again. Though they'd seen each other a lot these past few days, Ezra'd never taken his helmet off unless he was by himselfâ or with just Kanan, who obviously didn't mind that Ezra didn't follow Mandalorian customs around him, and if he had minded, wouldn't've noticed anyways.
But Sabine hadn't seen Ezra's face since before they first went to Krownest together, months ago, and from the tenderness of her leather touch, he knew it'd been too long for her.
"Well," Ezra said, trying to flirt back and failing to find the words, "I'd missed your stupid, uh, helmet?"
She laughed a little. "It's good to be going home."
Ezra slid his hand under and around hers, and whispered, "you have no idea."
đ§Ąâ˘đâ˘đ§Ą
Not too long after, Sabine and Ezra sat in the only place they'd ever found they could share a quiet moment together on the Ghost, sitting next to each other on the bottom bunk in Sabine's room.
Well, "sitting next to each other" was an understatement. His arm was wrapped around her, and her hand held his, and her helmet rested on his chest, and they were talking and laughing with each other in a way they were sure no one else in the galaxy had ever experienced or could possibly understand.
"I still don't know how I managed this," Ezra said.
 "Managed what?" Sabine asked.
"The coolest, smartest, most beautiful girl in the entire Rebellion is my girlfriend," Ezra shook his head, "not bad for a street rat."
Apparently only one word in that sentence mattered to Sabine.
"Beautiful?" Sabine asked, "Ezra, you've never seen my face."
"I don't have to to know that you're beautiful," Ezra said.
 "How do you figure that?"
"Well, I've seen your art," Ezra started, "you're always saying that art is a reflection of the artist, and if that's the case, you must be absolutely gorgeous, because you're the most talented artist I've ever seen."
Sabine nestled closer to him and hid herself even further in his embrace, like she often did when she was embarrassed by how much Ezra was complimenting her. The joke was on her though, because he really enjoyed it when she did that, and it only made him want to shower her with even more praise.
"And I've heard your voice," Ezra said, "and anyone who can make an insult sound as pretty as you can must be very pretty herself. You have a really pretty laugh, too...."
"Okay, I get it," Sabine said, barely stifling a really pretty and slightly flustered giggle.
"I'm not done," Ezra said, "I've also seen how you fight, how graceful and smooth in even the most deadly battles. That's beauty. The pride in each and every one of your explosions that goes as planned, that's beauty. That tone of voice that makes me know your face is shining under that helmet: beauty; the heart you have that can't help but help others, no matter how you try to hide itâ it's all so beautiful. You're all so beautiful. Everything about you is beautiful to me."
"But you still haven't seen my face," Sabine said.
"And I've told you a hundred thousand times it doesn't matter," Ezra said, "that I'd spend the rest of my life with you, even if I could never see your face."
 "And do you mean that?"
 "Every time."
"Not just the 'if you'd never see my face' part," Sabine clarified, "the other part. You said it when we were younger, that you'd spend the rest of your life with me if you could. Do you still mean that as much as you did back then?"
Ezra sat up properly, this conversation seeming to have gotten a bit more serious and wanting to show that he recognized that.
"Sabine, I mean it so much more than I did back then," Ezra said, taking both her hands in his, "every time I say it I mean it a little bit more. I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
 "But do you mean that?"
 "With all my heart."
 Sabine took a deep breath.
"It's not like I'll never take off my helmet," Sabine said, "showing my face would be a sign of commitment. It would show that I'm absolutely sure I want to spend the rest of my life with someone. I'd have to know that I love someone enough, with all my heart and soul, to want to them to be my forever."
"'Ruusaar riduur' is what you called it before," Ezra said.
 "Yeah," Sabine said.
She slipped her hands out of his, and before he had the chance to wonder if it was because he'd done something wrong, he realized it must be because he'd done something right. Her hands gripped the sides of her helmet, then pulled it off her head.
Ezra found himself absolutely speechless as he looked the face that he'd loved for years but only met now. He'd pictured her looking hundreds of thousands of ways, but this face, with the big brown eyes, and the shy smile, and the dark hair that didn't even reach her shoulders and somehow looked flawless despite her having worn her helmet for the last few hours, and this faceâ her faceâ was the most beautiful face he'd ever seen.
It took him a moment to understand what it all meant. If she'd taken her helmet off, that meant that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with himâ the most beautiful girl in the world (and now he could with all the more integrity say that about her appearance) wanted to share her beauty with him, and only him, for the rest of her life? He didn't think he was lucky enough for this moment to ever come, but now, here it was, and she was lovely, and he loved her, and he'd never wanted to kiss her more in his life, and she was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen, and he could spend the rest of all time with her, and now, now he had to find some way to say the words that were swirling around in his mind.
đâ˘đ§Ąâ˘đ
"You don't have to do this," Sabine thought, as she let go of Ezra's hands, "he likes you, you like him. Why risk vulnerability and commitment?"
But as she looked at Ezra, she found she wanted commitment more than she'd ever imagined. She wanted him to know her face as intimately as she knew his, to see with his own two eyes who she really was, and for herself to look at him without her visor altering her perception.
So, slowly, giving herself enough time to stop herself if she regretted it, she pulled her helmet off her head, for the first time in front of another life form since she'd put it on as a child, what felt like a lifetime ago. It felt vulnerable, and terrifying, but also freeing. She looked up at Ezra and smiled a little, wondering if he loved her face as much as he loved the rest of herâ as much as she loved him.
"Maybe this was a mistake," she thought, "maybe I should've just let him keep whatever version of me existed in his mind." She'd seen him flirt with lots of girls, back before they started dating, and none of them ever looked quite like her. What if, even without her armor, she still wasn't enough for him?
But the smile that spread across his face said it all, and if not, enough words tumbled out at a parsec a minute to make up for the verbiage his expression could've lacked.
"Why did you take off your helmet?" Ezra asked, and though anyone else could've left it at that question, the man she loved would never, and he followed it up with seventeen more. "how are you so pretty? I didn't know it was possible for someone to be so beautiful. Does this mean you want to spend forever with me, because I want to spend forever with you too? You're so pretty. I mean, that's not why I want to spend forever with you. I'd spend forever with you if I didn't get to see your face, but I'm so glad I get to see your face. You're literally the most beautiful person I've ever seen in my entire life; I want to kiss you so badly. I mean, not that I'm gonna kiss you, unless you want me to, I just, I've never seen someone so beautiful in my whole entire life. I just, I'm sorry, I wasn't expecting you to be so beautiful, I mean, not that I wasn't expecting you to be so beautiful, but I couldn't've expected you to be so beautiful, but, holy kriffâŚ"
Sabine already had a hard enough time with Ezra complimenting her on things she was often praised for, like her abilities and talents, but now that he was complimenting her on her beautyâ she didn't know what beauty was, and how was she supposed to know if she was beautiful? Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, and no one had beheld her before, especially not like this. As it was, she almost wished that she was still wearing her helmet, because she was blushing so hard it was almost embarrassing.
This had to stop. At the rate Ezra was going, he could go on talking like this for another three hours without sign of slowing down.
Though Ezra was the only boy she'd ever dated, she knew boys well enough to know they came with one handy special featureâ there was a pretty easy way to shut them up, one she'd secretly been wanting to try since before they left Krownest. Somewhere in his rambled confessions, she'd heard the words, "I want to kiss you," and lucky for him, the feeling was mutual.
Before his lips could get him into any more trouble, she took over for them, grabbing him by the shirt collar and sending his lips crashing into hers. It still took him a couple seconds to grasp what was happening and shut upâ that's about when the whispered "holy kriff" at the end came inâ but he quickly understood the assignment, and as his lips touched hers, his hand touched her face, something passionate and gentle and unfamiliar and overwhelming. No one had seen her face before, let alone touched it. And now, here was his hand, his fingers twirling on her cheek, his other hand on her neck, with his thumb stroking a soft spot behind her ear.
She pulled away from him, all of it seeming too good to be true. But when she read the love and excitement in his shining blue eyes, she believed it herself.
 "I love you," she whispered.
"I love you too," he whispered back.
And now, she was absolutely certain that he meant it.
đâ˘đ§Ąâ˘đ
A few months later, they were back on Krownestâ not for war, or for reunion, but for a wedding.Â
Sabine had told Ezra that he didn't need to adapt to her customs, that if they forged him his own armor, he'd be making the same commitment to it she had, but he insisted on becoming part of her world. She'd painted his armor herself, colors custom chosen by them both, and repainted her own armor to match it. He'd started wearing the helmet right away, partly because it was better than the repurposed trooper helmet he'd been wearing, and partly because he wanted to get used to the weight of it, and partly because he enjoyed looking like he belonged here.
But except for that and the left shoulder guard that he'd scarcely taken off since he got it, Ezra hadn't worn the rest of his armor until today, when they stood side by side in a private wedding ceremony they held on the Ghost. It was a small gathering, Sabine's family and the Spectres as the only guests in attendance, but the happy couple hardly even noticed them. The ceremony passed quickly, even for a Mandalorian one, which was always quick anyways.
If you'd asked her later, Sabine wouldn't be able to tell you much from that day, except for Ezra, and how she could almost feel the look on his face as he said his vows to her, and how deeply they both meant it when they declared themselves one with each other, and how there'd never been a more precious keldabe kiss (or "bonk of endearment" as Ezra would often call it in his silly little way with words) than the one that followed that ceremony.
And the most perfect moment of her life would come that night, when Ezra held her in his arms without a scrap of beskar coming between them, a pure, intimate, human connection, one that spoke of love, a love of their own, beyond either of their wildest dreams.

The Training Facility
Luke Skywalker x Ezra Bridger
SUMMARY: Luke Skywalker has never been good at making friends. Until he meets Ezra Bridger.
WORD COUNT: 1.07k
Luke swung his padawan braid behind him, still getting used to the odd feeling of the tail-like braid against his neck. Today was finally the day that his parents let him and his sister take the next step in force training. Not that Anakin needed as much convincing then Padme, forever concerned about the well-being of her reckless children - and husband. In Lukeâs defence, Leia was more the type to go ahead and do something rash, but his sister had the impressive ability to manage to drag Luke into trouble.
Speaking of Leia, she was striving ahead, ready to meet up with her new Master and the twin's toygrota Aunt, Ahsoka Tano, for her first taste of training. Ahsoka was the perfect master for Leia, both similar in personality and lightsaber formations. The council was wary, at first, of having people close to the twins become their mentors. The idea that the Jedi were now allowed to have attachments - healthy attachments - was still new, only changing once Lukeâs father managed to get the upper hand on the hidden Sith Lord, Palpatine, and revealed his secret relationship with Lukeâs mother, Senator Padme Amidala. However, the council eventually caved, not allowing Anakin to train his children but the two Jedi closest to him. Aunt Ahsoka and Uncle Obi-Wan. The latter decided to take things slower with Luke than Ahsoka is with Leia, tasking him with the difficulty of getting to know the other Padawans in the order.
Itâs not that Luke didnât necessarily know the other Jedi his age. He often prefered to spend his time in the library or fixing droids with his father or shadowing his mother as newly-elected Chancellor. It was much easier than making new friends for himself - most people he knew were through his sister, always the opposite. Thus here he was, in the midst of the training room. No library, no father, no mother, no master, no sister to help him break the ice.
Fifteen years old and absolutely no socialising skills. Luke was sure that Jedi needed to know how to talk to the general public during missions.
Luckily for Luke, he didnât have to make much of an effort. The slow buzz of the safety-first training lightsabers provided a nice amount of background noise that Luke didn't have to zone in on any particular conversation. Luke settled on watching a battle between two Padawans he was sure he vaguely recognized.
The fight didnât last long, one of the two boys clearly had the upper hand, his blueberry-like hair matching those from the planet Lothal. Luke remembered a trip there he had taken with his mother a few years ago - a diplomatic mission that the council had approved the twins to go on. A learning experience, as Padme so kindly put it. Luke was lucky his mother was so skilled at debate.
The boy had a green lightsaber, the same colour as Lukeâs own weapon. He used a skilled strategy to gain the upper hand, tripping the other boy over, lightsaber discarded. Luke couldnât help but wonder which Jedi Knight was this Padawanâs master. If anyone, Luke assumed they would be friends with Lukeâs father - the strategy displayed seemed like something that would appeal to Anakin Skywalker. It was especially similar to Luke and Leiaâs secret sessions with him - yet another secret from the council, of course.
ââLike what you see?ââ
Luke looked up, startled at being interrupted from his thoughts. It was the boy with the blueberry hair, who sat facing him. A small smirk was building on his face.
ââI was only trying to figure out where Iâve seen that fighting style before. I canât place itââ Luke replied, trying not to make eye contact. He almost wished he spent more time around his peers. He couldnât imagine Leia ever slipping up on a face. She had this uncanny ability to remember obscure details about people. However annoying it seemed to Luke over the years, it felt very useful now.
ââProbably from my master. Caleb Dume.ââ The boy said, spinning his deactivated lightsaber around his fingers and tossing it in the air. Luke was glad for something to focus on other than the boys piercing eyes. ââI know you.ââ
ââEveryone seems to, unfortunatelyââ. Being the son of the famed star-crossed lovers of the republic came with a lot of unprecedented recognition. Itâs not that Luke hated it, but it always seemed to be the case that a lot more people knew Luke than Luke knew them. He was always afraid of accidentally forgetting the name of some senator who knew his mother and making a fool of himself. ââCaleb Dume? I know him, he is friends with my Aunt- well, my sister's master, Ahsoka Tano. You know, that makes a lot of sense. I think I remember Leia mentioning you, you're-â
âEzra Bridgerâ
ââRight.ââ Luke didnât think he should mention that Leia had once gone on a rant to him about Ezraâs fighting style - âunpredictable and absolutely no formationâ. Luke also didnât think he should tell Ezra that he had defended him to his sister - âBut isnât that a smart move, enemies can pick up the Jedi moves. Somehow, Luke didnât think that was a good conversation starter.
ââYour sister? Leia Skywalker right?ââ Ezra continued. ââHow come I never see you around? I almost thought Leia was completely making up this twin brother of hers.ââ
Luke smiled at the idea of Leia telling stories about her and Luke. Hopefully, itâll make it easier to bridge the gap between himself and the other kids here.
ââI guess I donât get out too much.ââ Luke chuckled. ââI am not very good at making friends without Leia around.ââ
Ezra raised his eyebrows, standing up with another spin of his lightsaber. ââOh really, what do you think just happened? Come on, lets duel.ââ He held out his hand expectantly.
Luke frowned. That was⌠surprisingly easy? Ezra seemed to easy going, ready to talk to anyone. It was almost comical, the way he was the exact opposite of Luke. Then, the feeling of relief washed over him. Luke could tell Uncle Obi-Wan all about this encounter. His careful Uncle may let him take further steps in his training now. Well, what was even better than pleasing Obi-Wan was having someone to talk to in the training room. Luke may even end up enjoying going down to the recreational Padawan areas.
Luke took Ezraâs hand.

Caleb should have listened to Obi-Wan. He really should have listened to Obi-Wan.
for the ask game!!!!!!!
EEEHEHEHEE okay okay so this is part of Follow The Silver Wolves, a no-O66 oneshot that I am also calling Let's Give Sabezra Their Own Year On The Run, Shall We?
For a little context: this part (aka... one of the only parts I have written XD) is right after a narrow escape, where Knight Dume, Padawan Bridger, and the Vicountess Sabine Wren are hiding in a cave. Long story short, Plot-Mandated Mid-Escape Puddle Mishaps combined with a Conveniently Located Thermal Pool ended with both kids having a heart-to-heart while rinsing mud out of their hair, and then...
---
Caleb rolled his eyes as he strode back inside, holodisc in hand. âHonestly, Master Kenobi. You can stop worrying. The last time I saw Ezra and the Vicountess, she was ready to tear his throat out and he wasnât far behind. So I guarantee you, whatever past experience you have with Jedi-Mandalorian pairs on the run for their lives, these two are absolutely notââ
He stopped in his tracks, staring into the cave, then huffed.
ââkissing in a hot spring. Iâll call you back.â
He hung up and waited, but apparently Ezra was too distracted to notice the bantha in the roomâor, more accurately, the Jedi Master in the cave. So Caleb snatched up a pebble with the Force and tossed it at his Padawanâs head.
âOw! Hey, what wasâMASTER?!â
Both kids splashed apart, red-faced. Caleb crossed his arms. âYou two wanna explain?â
The Viscountess glanced at Ezra, then looked up at Caleb.
âNo, sir.â
âNope,â Ezra seconded.
âUh-uh.â
âNot at all.â
âNever in a million years.â
âJust forget you saw anything.â
âPlease.â
âHey, was that your girlfriend you were talking to?â Ezra demanded cheekily, obviously trying to change the subject.
Caleb scowled at his Padawan. âYouâre not one to talk, kid.â
âSure I am.â
âYeah, he never shuts up,â the Viscountess added.
âWell, for your information,â Caleb said flatly. âThat was actually Master Kenobi. He wanted to know how the mission was going.â
âPretty great, if you ask me,â Ezra grinned, and she punched his arm.

A good Feeling
Ezra Bridger x fem!Jedi!reader Part II
Word count:2.9k
Warnings: !SPOILERS! for Ahsoka Ep. 7, minor injuries, canon typical violence
Summary:After finally seeing Ezra again, You barely have Time to celebrate, as Thrawn and his goons are still hot on your tailâŚ
A/N: Decided to make this into a series, so here is Part II :)
Part I , Part II (you are here)
Masterlist
Merely a day had passed, since You and Sabine arrived on Peridea. The sky was still tinted in a cold gray and the landscape looked exactly as uninviting as before. The only thing alive seemed to be the small tribe of hermits that had led you to Ezra.
Speaking of the young Jedi, he had decided that it would be safer to get moving again and so you were back on Tota the Howler, protecting the little flock from the back, while Ezra and Sabine lead them upfront.
You watched from afar, how the two of them talked. Sabine was probably catching Ezra up on what had happened in the last ten years. You were happy to see the two of them talking so freely again.
While the first few hours after your arrival were filled with hugs and small kisses between You and Ezra, you had realized that him and Sabine deserved some time to talk alone too. They had known each other much longer and were like Siblings to each other.Â
Your thoughts were interrupted by a strange feeling that spread within you. A feeling of dread and restlessness. You turned around for a second, looking out for something. Anything, that might have caused this feeling.
And then it was gone.
And a new feeling arose. A familiar feeling. The presence of a person. A Person close to you. You let your eyes flutter shut and concentrated on that feeling, pulling it closer and closer, until it felt like you could almost stretch out your hand and touch it. And then, all of a sudden, you heard it loud and clear. Saw it before your inner eye.Felt the fabric of her clothes under your touch. Her smell that you had known so well from combating against her.
It was Ahsoka. She was calling out to you and Sabine.
Immediately, you grabbed the leash of the Howler tighter, making your way towards Ezra and Sabine.
âYou felt it too, didn't you?â, You asked, upon reaching the two. Ezra only gave you a confused glance, but Sabine nodded.
âIt was Ahsoka.â, she said plainly, âShe's alive.â
You couldn't help the grin that spread over your face. Ahsoka was alive and she was on her way to you.
You didn't have time to answer, as the small shuttles of the Noti surrounding you suddenly came to a halt and several of the small hermits pointed towards the hill, located in front of you. You followed their gaze and spotted two small figures standing on top of said hill. Upon seeing the two of them, the feeling of dread you had felt earlier returned.
âThey have been following us.â, You said, looking over to Ezra and Sabine.
âFriends of Yours?â, Ezra asked, looking back and forth between Sabine and You.
âNo.â, Sabine said coldly and you couldn't agree more with her. You weren't exactly keen on facing Baylan and Shin again, after how your last fight with them ended.
You watched how Ezra slowly turned his shuttle around, directing the flock the other way, away from Baylan and Shin. You followed close behind, but had your eyes still on the two Sith standing on the hill.
âWe're having companyâ, you yelled, as the flock gained speed again. But it was useless. Shin and her group of murderous nomads were close on your heels.
You watched as Sabine grabbed both of her blasters and started shooting at the nomads. You nodded at her and let yourself fall back, as you grabbed your lightsaber to deflect the enemy fire.
While you were busy protecting the Noti shuttles, you saw from the corner of your eye how one of the Nomads was closing his distance towards you.
âYou gotta stay real still for me, okay Tota?â,You mumbled to your Howler, as you let the leash fall out of your hands. You continued acting like you didn't notice the nomad sneaking up on you, but when he was about to attack you, you quickly jumped up, aiming your lightsaber at him.
Merely a second later, you landed securely on the back of the howler where the nomad had been sitting just a few seconds ago. But he was now laying on the soft grass behind you, a hole in his chest.
But the moment of victory only lasted a few seconds, as the Blaster fire of the other nomads was directed at you again, after they realized what you had done to their comrade.
âTota!?â, You yelled out to your Howler. Upon hearing your voice, they immediately ran over to you, ready to be mounted by you again.
âGood Howler.â, You mumbled, as you jumped onto Tota´s back again. You deflected the incoming shots as good as you could, pushing a nomad off of their Howler here and there. But as you saw one of the shuttles malfunction and crashing to the ground, You quickly grabbed Tota´s leash, slowing the Howler down. You quickly jumped to the ground, as you saw the rest of the flock turn around, coming back for the shuttle.
âAre you alright? Is everyone okay?!â, You quickly asked, waving at the Noti. You didn't understand a word they said, but they seemed fine, so you just gave them a thumbs up.
You watched how Ezra directed the rest of the flock back to where you were standing next to the broken shuttle. The nomads were following close behind and started to circle you, as all the shuttles came to a halt.
âGet inside. I'll handle this.â, Ezra said to the Noti and they followed his directions without much hesitation.
You quickly jogged over to him and Sabine, your lightsaber still drawn and resting in the palm of your hand, as the nomads were still very much surrounding you.
But you couldn't help the smile that rose to your face, as you recognized the familiar outlines of Ahsoka´s ship quickly closing in on your position.
âYou two alright?â, you questioned, looking up at Ezra and Sabine. Both of them nodded quickly, but upon following Ezra´s gaze, you saw that Shin and what seemed to be the leader of the nomads, were now making their way over to you.
âWho´s that?â, Ezra asked, looking down at you for answers.
âShe's like you, but lacks your sense of humor.â, You described Shin for him. Looking back at her, the young Sith apprentice was staring holes in your head, like she wanted to kill you right then and there.
Ezra nodded at your answer,âLightsaber?âhe asked, not taking his eyes off Shin.
âOh yeah.â, Sabine tuned in. You slightly winced at her annoyed tone, as you remembered the injury she had suffered from an attack by Shin.
âGreat.â, Ezra mumbled, clearly understanding the emotions Sabine and You had towards Shin,âWe better get ready.â
You watched how the leader of the Nomads lifted his spear into the air, shouting in a language you didn't understand, while Ezra and Sabine made their way out of the shuttle and over to where you were standing already.
âYou okay?â, Ezra asked, slightly touching your forearm. You nodded at him, giving him a warm smile, before turning back around.
The nomads were now closing in on you. You calculated that your odds were about even.
âWhat´s the plan?â, Ezra asked, glazing over to you and Sabine.
âShe only pulled out her lightsaber, wanting to hand it to Ezra:âYou and Y/n. Do your thing.â
âWhat thing?â; Ezra asked, about as confused as you.
âYour lightsaber. Take itâ, Sabine explained, her eyes still locked on the enemy.
Ezra pursed his lips at that:âYou keep it.â
A small smile spread on your lips, upon hearing his words. This was so typical for Ezra. He always did something unexpected.
âI don't need it.â, Ezra explained further,âBesides, you´ve been training.â
âVery funny.â, Sabine mocked, still holding the lightsaber out to him.
Ezra only repeated himself:âNo, I´m serious.â
âTake it.â, Sabine persisted, slightly slapping the lightsaber against his chest.
But Ezra refused again:âI gave it to you, it´s yours now.â
âAt least take a blaster.â, Sabine groaned, but Ezra only grinned at her:âNo, the Force is my ally. That´s all I need.â
âFor God´s sake! Are you two finished?!â, You finally butted in, spinning around and cutting straight through a nomad that had been sneaking up on Ezra and Sabine,âNow is not the time for Talking!â
âSabine started it!â, You heard Ezra yell, as the three of you dispersed into different directions.
You rolled your eyes at him, a small smile pulling at the corner of your lips, as you engaged another enemy that rounded a corner in front of you. It took only a few swings from your lightsaber before he was down.Â
You kept moving around the shuttles, looking for the nomads, as you heard Sabine near you,âI did not start it!â, she answered to Ezra´s previous statement.
âYou two are like children!â, You exclaimed, as you took a stance back to back with Sabine, fighting off the few Nomads that had surrounded you.
From the corner of your eye, you saw a Nomad that was about to jump Ezra from behind. You quickly stepped forward, reaching out your hand to use the force to send him flying towards the nearest shuttle.
Upon hearing the Nomad crash to the ground, Ezra quickly turned around. As he spotted you, he gave you a soft smile. But you had no time to return it, as You felt a sharp graze your shoulder and you quickly jumped back, raising your lightsaber in defense.Â
The Nomad that had attacked you wasted no time and jumped at you, his spear raised over his head in an attempt to stab you. But before you could do anything, the Nomad was thrown against a Noti Shuttle, just like his comrade a few seconds ago.Â
Your gaze lingered on his unconscious body for a second, before you looked up and saw Ezra sprinting towards you.
âAre you okay?â, he quickly asked, his gaze directed towards the small cut on your shoulder.
âI´m fine. Thank you, Ezra.â, You smiled and leaned up to quickly press a kiss to his cheek. The boy´s grin only got wider, but your small moment was interrupted, as you saw Shin behind Ezra coming closer.
âLook Out!â, You shouted and pulled Ezra away by his arm, as Shin swung her lightsaber at him.
A hand flew to Ezra's hair, as he grabbed a strand that had been grazed by Shin´s lightsaber.
âClose.â, he mumbled before jumping at her. You watched in awe how he managed to push her off, before also joining into the battle. Right as Ezra dodged one of Shin´s attacks, you stopped in, her lightsaber colliding with yours, as you pushed her back. The look of surprise that she gave you was unforgettable.Â
You continued to fight together with Ezra, as You suddenly saw Sabine from the corner of your eye. She had drawn her lightsaber and joined your battle against Shin, swinging at her with full speed. Upon realizing that she now had to fight with three Jedi, two of them with lightsabers, Shin took a step back.
âIt´s not looking good for you.â, Ezra stated the obvious. But he was interrupted as you could see several troop carriers closing in on you.
âWe need to take her, now!â, Sabine exclaimed. Ezra nodded and was about to attack, but this time, Shin was faster and sent him flying against one of the shuttles.
âEzra!?â, You yelled, but he wasn't reacting. You hoped that he was just unconscious and turned back around, locking eyes with sabine. the Mandalorian nodded at you and together you stepped forward to attack Shin together. The Sith managed to dodge your attacks, but you were able to slowly push her back, until you realized that Ezra had gotten up again and joined your side once more.
The fight stopped as you realized that Storm Troopers had surrounded you and each and every one of them was pointing their weapon at you three.
âDestroy them.â, Shin finally ordered and you heard the safety of all blasters around you lock off.
âWait!Wait!Wait!â, Ezra yelled, lifting his hands to the air,âWe couldâŚtalk. Or we could justâŚWeâŚDon´t you wanna take us as prisoners? As Prisoners?â, He pointed his hand at Shin like that would help in any way.
But she didn't seem amused at all, her face was not showing any sign of emotion, as she yelled:âFire!â, towards the troopers.
But they didn't have the chance to do so, as three of them were thrown off their feet and flung across the field. Mere seconds later, a Howler approached your group and from their back, Ahsoka jumped in front of you, her lightsabers drawn, ready to fight.
You, Sabine and Ezra quickly looked at each other, before dispersing into the field again, while Ahsoka took on Shin.
You saw Ahsoka´s ship flying above you, probably steered by Huyang, as you started fighting against the Troopers. It wasn´t particularly hard to take them down, the problem was the number of them. They attacked you from every corner possible.
You were in the middle of a fight against three Troopers that had been shooting on you for a few minutes, while you tried to get closer to them, as they suddenly stopped and started to retreat. Rounding the closest corner, you joined the rest of your team again. Shin was standing in front of Ahsoka, clearly surprised by the sudden order to retreat.
âSurrender your weapon. I can help you.â, Ahsoka ordered calmly. Shin only looked up at her, the fear on her face as clear as day. But instead of following Ahsoka´s orders, Shin turned around and ran off to her Howler.
âAhsoka.â, Sabine finally said after a few seconds of silence. Ahsoka turned around and smiled at her apprentice.
âI thought you were dead.â, Sabine explained, sadness lacing her voice.
But Ahsoka only smiled, clicking her tongue:âAnd miss this reunion?â
She looked over to Ezra, who also had a smile on his face, before the two shared a heartfelt hug. As the two parted, Ahsoka looked up to Ezra and a genuine laugh left her lips.Â
After a few seconds, Ezra turned around towards Sabine and You:âWait, you thought she was dead?â
âClearly. We were wrong.â, Sabine answered, with a smile on her face. You only grinned, raising your hand to pat her shoulder:âI´m glad, we were.â
The sound of Huyang landing the ship behind the four of you, interrupted your little conversation as you all turned around.
Your gaze wandered over to one of the Noti, that had left their shuttle and waddled over to Ezra. Right behind them was Tota, who upon seeing you, Immediately ran over to you, rubbing the snout against your hand.
âHey Tota.â, You mumbled and petted the Howler, as you watched Ezra reassure the small hermit;âHey, it's okay. These are friends. All friends.â
You looked around you, as all of the other Noti now also started to come out of their shuttles, chattering away about God knows what.
Yeah, this feeling was pretty fucking great, you decided.Â
âGuys. I´m getting a feeling.â, Ezra finally said,âI think I might be going home after all. "
You smiled at him, patting his shoulder, as the four of you gazed back towards Ahsoka´s ship.
Bonus:
A small squeal left your lips, as you suddenly felt Ezra´s arms wrap around you in a tight hug. You didn't have any time to react before, he pulled you off your feet spinning you around in circles.Â
âEzra!â, You scolded him, your hands resting on his shoulders for support, but You could only hear his beautiful laugh in response, before the two of you toppled to the ground.Â
You could hear the laughs of Ahsoka and Sabine behind you, as you finally looked up. You realized that you were laying on top of Ezra. The jedi was of course already looking at you, his hands resting on your hips.
âI saw you fight today.â, he mumbled, only for you to hear,âYou were awesome. You´ve really improved.â
âSo have you.â, You chuckled, quickly pecking his lips, before slowly setting up again.
You saw a small blush creep up ezra´s neck, as he sat up next to you.
âWe should take care of your shoulderâ, He said pointing at the small scratch on your shoulder.
âIt's just a scratch.â; You tried to dismiss him, but Ezra had already stood up again, holding his hand out to you.
âNo excuses.â, he said sternly as he pulled you to your feet.
âCome on.â, You heard Ahsoka say, as she lightly patted Sabine´s shoulder,âLet´s give the lovebirds some time alone.â
You felt the heat rise to your cheeks, as Sabine gave you a smirk, before following Ahsoka towards her ship.
âShall we?â, Ezra asked after a few seconds of silence. You turned to look at him and saw that he held his hand out towards you.
âAlways.â, You smiled before grabbing his hand and letting him lead you to one of the Noti shuttles, to take care of your shoulder.Â

My Oneshot for day 3 of @kaneraweekâ "Everybody Talks". After all the angst I went with something more lighthearted today đ. Also it's way shorterđ.Â
It's also here on ao3:Â
My works for Kanera Week 2023 (5876 words) by RandomLettersIJustThoughtOf ____________________________________ Day 3: Prompts: Broad: Everybody talks Specific: Rumors | Outside POV | Shutting People Up Hera hears an outrageos rumor and is determinded to find out where it came from.
"Kanan Jarrus!" Everybody in the Ghost kitchen spun around to Hera, who had just stormed in infuriated, and now stood in the door, puffing herself up and glaring at Kanan as if she had caught him doing something extremely forbitten. He was just pouring himself a cup of water, wtf? He froze, raised an eyebrow, and exchanged a quick look with Zeb and Sabine to see, if they understood what was going on. But they looked just as surprised and confused as him. He looked back at Hera and raised a questioning eyebrow, but couldn't completely hide the trace of amusement by her barely contained rage in his voice, when he jokingly replied: "Love?" "Do not 'Love' me!", Hera demanded, striving towards him, accusingly pointing at him. "Care to explain, why I just got, not one, not two, but THREE people congratulating me on EXPECTING A CHILD?" Kanan choked on his water. "You are pregnant?!?" For a moment, they just stared at each other immensely confused, and Hera could watch every range of emotion cross Kanan's face in the span of a moment. Confusion, shock, excitement, fear, guilt, hope, happiness, and then confusion again. "I⌠what, NO!" Hera blushed such a dark green that it almost reached the tone of Kanan's shirt. Sabine and Zeb exchanged a slightly amused 'Oh, interesting'-look and chuckled silently. "Oh", was the only thing Kanan could think to say. He would have sounded nearly disappointed if it hadn't been overshadowed by ten layers of confusion. "I⌠I just wanted to know why everybody assumed that." Hera was still blushing like crazy. "I don't know, what made you think this was my fault?" "I don't know, whose else would it be?" "Well, not mine!? I don'tâŚ" "Hey guys!" Ezra crashed into the kitchen. "What's going on? Why did a very scared Wedge and a very concerned Rex just warn me, they think Hera is about to commit homicide after they saw her storm through the base? I think you scared them." Sabine laughed, picturing various rebels scrambling to get out of the way of a very infuriated Hera, practically trembling with rage, marching towards the ghost. Zeb took it upon himself to answer Ezra's question, chuckling as well: "Well, it seems like there is a rumor going around, that our dear Hera is pregnant." Ezra frowned in confusion. "Why⌠oh." A sudden realization dawned on his face. "Ezra Bridger," Hera growled, "What did you do?" "Nothing! I justâŚ", he glanced at Sabine for support, but she remained silent, a grin on her face and pure mischief sparkling in her eyes. "I was fighting with Sabine earlier, and I think I said something like 'I'm getting a new sister', so maybe somebody heard that andâŚ" The rest of his sentence got lost in Zeb's and Sabine's roaring laughter. Hera groaned and rolled her eyes, but even she couldn't hide her smile. Kanan was still confused and overwhelmed by the events of these last two minutes, but soon, he joined the laughter as well. He searched for Hera's eyes, but she kept them fixed to the ground. She did not know what to do with the realization that he was not appalledâmaybe even excitedâby the thought of her bearing his child. Damn, someday they would really need to talk about this.

summary: when ezra overhears sabine reciting a mandalorian custom, ezra regrets all the years he's missed out on. word count: 1K a/n: i came up with this fic during my mando'a studies. my goal is to someday write an entire fic in mando'a, complete with a work skin that'll include a mando'an font. that dream is still many years off though, but until then, here's a fic inspired by a little bit of manda-lore i've learned!  taglist:@laughingphoenixleader @accidental-spice @kanerallels @piraterefrigerator @jedi-nurse @dootchster @lucasbridger @redroverrider @light-umbra @commander-tech {if youâd like to be added to or removed from my Sabezra taglist, let me know!}

Here For You Now
It took Ezra a moment to figure out why he'd fallen asleep on the floor, less than a foot away from his bed. He would've totally assumed that he'd fallen off the bed in his sleep again (it was less than a foot's drop; he'd slept through it before,) but the pile of blankets underneath him told him this was definitely intentional. He couldn't quite piece together why he would've done something like this thoughâ until he heard a murmured whisper coming from the bed, a voice he almost thought he was just imagining again, until he remembered that yesterday was the day he'd spent over a decade waiting for.
 Sabine had found him.
And, since his trailer offered little in the way of comfort, he'd let Sabine take the bed and offered to sleep on the floor instead. Good hospitality, he'd called it, something he'd learned well from the Noti, and also a way to say "thank you" for coming all this way just to bring him home. (And in actuality, he'd never make his favorite person in this [and any] galaxy sleep on the floorâ and also he knew he'd irreversibly stumble over his words if he suggested they try to share the bed.)
But despite being on the floor and definitely sore from it, it was one of the best wakeups he'd had in yearsâ certainly the one that ushered in the most hope along with it.Â
Though he'd never lost faith in Sabine, hope had been in short supply the past year or soâ that is, until yesterday, when the Noti had told him that they found a girl ("your girl," their language put it, and he was too ecstatic to disagree) and she'd come to the camp looking for him. He'd never thought she'd looked more beautiful than she did when she saw him, and gave him a smile that conveyed the same genuine joy and total disbelief he was feeling.
And now he woke up knowing she was here, and it wasn't another stupid dream about her return: she was on Perida, actually with him, quietly chanting something in Mando'a.
"Ni su'cuyi gar kyr'adyc, ni partayli, gar darasuum."
Ezra wasn't sure what she was mumbling about, but it felt almost like some kind of meditation, or a prayer. His interest was piqued when he heard the next two words, and he looked up to see her sitting cross legged with her eyes closed.
"Kanan Jarrus. Ursa Wren. Alrich Wren. Tristan Wren. Ahsoka Tano. Ni su'cuyi gar kyr'adyc, ni partayli, gar darasuum."
Sabine sighed, and there was a moment of silence.
"What's that?" Ezra asked, once he was sure she'd finished.
"Ah-wha?" Sabine started, apparently not having known Ezra was even awake "it's nothing. Just an old Mandalorian tradition. I didn't mean to wake you up. Did you sleep alright?"
"What kind of old Mandalorian tradition?" Ezra asked, completely disregarding her attempts to divert the conversation.
 "Nothing," Sabine shook her head.
"Didn't seem like nothing to you."
"Well, it's nothing that matters to you," Sabine said.
"Everything youâŚ" Ezra stopped mid-sentence, knowing that if he said "everything you say maters to me," she might start to think he had feelings for herâ which he did, but he was pretty sure she still didn't feel the same way, and he didn't want to run the risk of scaring off his only ride back home. So, he switched trains of thought.
"You mentioned Kanan," Ezra shook his head.
Sabine looked at him, and in her eyes he saw the softness and pain she was trying all too well to hide. He smiled slightly, nodded slightly, raised his eyebrows slightly, tried to remind her with merely a look that her secrets were safe with him.
 Sabine sighed.
"It's a remembrance," she offered, "'I am alive, but you are dead.'" she shook her head as she choked out the words, "'I remember you, so you are eternal.'"
Ezra smiled a little at the sentiment, at keeping the memory of someone alive long after they're goneâ but then he realized that the names of her family were included in that list.
"You mentioned your family too," Ezra said, quietly, "Are they"
 Sabine nodded, "they're gone."
 "And Ahsoka?"
"I think so," she said, the words petering out as a single breath.
Ezra thought he saw a tear trickle down her cheek as she looked away from him. He didn't fight the urge to climb up onto the bed next to her and wrap an arm around her for comfort. He realized after he did so that he'd taken a gamble, and she was likely to be annoyed by his attempt to comfort her, so he was surprised when, instead of twisting away from him, she actually leaned closer, accepting the shoulder he gave her to cry on.
"I'm so sorry, Sabine," Ezra whispered, with no idea what other words he could even offer.
"There's nothing you could've done," Sabine said, "there's nothing anyone could've done."
Ezra remembered thinking the same thing when the empire took his parents, that there was nothing anyone could've done to help himâ but that didn't mean he didn't want anyone to.
"I could've been there for you," Ezra shook his head, "I should've been there for you. Kriff, I've missed out on so much."
Sabine lifted her head off his shoulder and looked up at him.
"But I am here for you now," Ezra said, letting go of her and resting his hand on the bed behind her, "if you wanna talk about it at all."
Sabine shook her head and looked away.
"I don't wanna talk about it."
"Alright," Ezra nodded, "is there anything I can do?"
"Could you just sit here with me?" Sabine asked.
 "Absolutely," Ezra smiled.
They treasured a moment's silence, before Sabine leaned a little closer, resting her head on his arm again. She glanced up at him as a smile crossed his face, and he rested his head on top of hers.
Maybe he hadn't been there for her for the last few years. Maybe there were a lot of moments she'd needed him that he missed out on.
But this moment? It wasn't going to be one of themâ he was here for her now, and that's what mattered.
And he wasn't going to stop being there for her ever again.

could you tell me more about the Reva Interlude please?
Sure thing! That's one of the few whose title still matches its name and I've completed and posted it here.
It's a oneshot about Revaâs journey back to the light side of the force, how Ahsoka mentored her, and how Reva passed on what she learned to Ezra Bridger. I originally wrote it because I realized I needed to introduce her into my 3D Tapestry fic, but I didn't want to introduce the context via flashback or internal monologue, so I wrote a standalone-able oneshot!
