Hi, I have no idea how this works, but I want to participate in fandom so here we go... I love Star Wars, Lotr, Marvel, Narnia, Riordanverse, Harry Potter (f* you JK), Night at the Museum and honestly so many other fandoms I dont remember them all. But mostly Star Wars. Exspecially clone wars and Rebels. I am pro-jedi and you might encounter slight clonecest on this blog so be warned! Also my Englisch is not the best and my phone autocorrects everything wrong. So please ignore that and welcome!

I love that Sam and Bucky's relationship is much healthier now.
They always used to look like they were physically unable to stay away from each other. Which is great to witness when you're a shipper, but not something you want in a relationship.
If you look at Sam/Steve or Steve/Bucky, they're always had the kind of friendship where they were able to do things separately. But Sam and Bucky? They've never been able to do that.
Sam and Bucky, have been "inseparable" (Sebastian's words not mine), ever since we saw them together in Captain America: Civil War. And they weren't even supposed to be that close but they were always paired up together.
It gave us these 2 iconic scenes:

We saw them getting even closer in Avengers: Endgame, with Sam comforting Bucky at Tony's funeral.
And who did Sam turn to when faced with the biggest decision of his life? Bucky. Not Steve, his best friend. He looked at Bucky for reassurance.
Even at the beginning of the Falcon and the Winter Soldier, when they were supposed to be angry with eachother, Bucky wouldn't leave Sam's side.
And at the end of the show when they solved all of their problems, Bucky basically moved to Sam's hometown.
It's not only their scenes together, but also the way the cast and crew talks about them, Sebastian said they were inseparable, in the Captain America: Civil War Press tour. Anthony said that Sam and Bucky "can't do without each other" in the FATWS press tour.
Anthony also had this headcanon that Sam visited Bucky every other weekend when he was in Wakanda, during the Avengers: Infinity War press tour.
Even the cast members see Sam and Bucky as an item, and never expects them to stay away from each other for a long time.
As Malcolm Spellman said; "they are family in a way that feels like will last forever in the MCU"
In Captain America: Brave New World we saw a much more mature version of Sam and Bucky's relationship. They're able to do their own thing, and still be there for one another when they need to.
They know where they stand in eachother lives and are comfortable with it. Bucky's picture is literally front and center in Sam's office.
There's no way tfatws!Sambucky would have been to do separately things for such a long time ... Bucky would have asked to go on missions with Sam or Sam would have stayed with Bucky during his campaign.
I really like that Sam and Bucky are now in a place where they can indeed be without eachother when necessary, but still know how important the other is in their life.

An Essay on SamBucky
Just got back from seeing Captain America: Brave New World and am full of thoughts. The following contains Sambucky-centric thoughts, head canons, and spoilers based on the movie. (I have a separate post that includes my overall thoughts on the movie but this one is solely Sambucky.)
Sambucky nation--we rise! No divorce era for us! (Though it did provide for some awesome, angsty fics). I hope the trend continues with Thunderbolts*. Bucky is obviously looking rougher there than he did in this movie, so we're not out of the woods yet, but I'm feeling pretty good about our chances.
There's so much to say here. Multiple Bucky mentions (Sam alluding to Bucky when he talks about having a friend who was controlled by trigger words.), a picture of SamBucky prominently displayed at Sam's headquarters, Bucky showing up as emotional support when Sam needs him most, the hug, the "Buck" and the "I love you, Buddy." All of these have already been mentioned a lot, though, so for this post (who am I kidding this is an essay!), I would like to highlight a few points pertaining to the movie. I haven't really seen discussed in the Sambucky tag yet.
First, Sam says the following to Bucky at the hospital:
"Joaquin鈥檚 in here. Isaiah鈥檚 in prison. And Sterns鈥 had him. I had Sterns right in my hands but he got away." Bucky is given no additional backstory here, which means he already knows who Sterns is and what Sam is dealing with. This indicates Sam and Bucky are in regular contact with Sam keeping Bucky filled in on what's happening. This isn't just a case of Bucky seeing news footage and immediately going to Sam. Bucky is an active part of Sam's life and support system.
Then we have Bucky's line:
"Steve gave people something to believe in, but you give them something to aspire to." Bucky's admiration and devotion to Sam here is quite evident. I fully believe Bucky Barnes is all in for Sam Wilson and has been probably for longer than even he realizes.
Then toward the end of the scene where we get our iconic "Thanks Buck" and "I love you, Buddy" moment:
We have a wealth of unspoken communication here. Sam and Bucky seem to have a whole conversation with both their eyes and body language before they speak these words. Sam looks at Bucky. Looks down at (presumably) Bucky's outstretched hand. Then his eyes cut back up to Bucky. Then they cut back down as he shakes Bucky's hand, then he looks back up at Bucky. For Bucky's part, his eyes never leave Sam's face during the entirety of this. It's only right before he says "I love you, Buddy" that his gaze cuts down from Sam's face. After saying the words, Bucky proceeds to back away and Sam watches him go. The way this scene plays out, and the choices Mackie and Stan make leave a lot of room for subtext and interpretation, imo.
Right after this scene, we also get the female agent coming in with questions/comments about Bucky to Sam, alluding to a possible interest which Sam shuts down with "He's 110 years old." Look, it might make sense for Sam to try to nip a Bucky/Sarah potential connection in the bud like he did in TFATWS and it not mean anything (that's another essay for another day. I wasn't on Tumblr back then to share my thoughts on that.); after all, that's his sister and Bucky was riding on his last nerve through all the previous episodes at that point. It does not, however, make sense for Sam to insert himself into the narrative at this point and try to dissuade a random CIA agent from showing interest in Bucky if Bucky is just his friend and/or Sam's interest in him is purely platonic. It just doesn't. I cannot come up with a logical explanation for this besides the obvious 'that man is mine, step off' conclusion.
And for my last point:
During Sam's final showdown with the red hulk, with the outcome uncertain, and defeat (and therefore death) potentially eminent, Sam proceeds to bitch about Bucky under his breath. "Bucky is full of so much shit..." I know this is supposed to be funny and snarky, but it's also quite telling. We know that the signature of SamBucky's relationship--whether it's platonic or romantic--is the bickering. Not only is Sam spending his potential last moments ranting about Bucky (again, the staple of their relationship), he's also spending them thinking about Bucky. He's going out there facing odds that seem insurmountable and it's Bucky that's on his mind.
So, in conclusion, they're in love.

Here's why I don't think Qui-Gon could be the magical answer to "How do you solve a problem like Anakin Skywalker?" because of this right here. Qui-Gon directly witnesses Dooku's anger at the Senator who is oppressing the people of his planet, that he uses the Force in anger, he's literally Force-choking people right in front of Qui-Gon's eyes, and that's the same kind of thing Anakin does, the big red warning flag. So what does Qui-Gon do about it? He gets the Senator's son to help calm this specific situation down, puts a hand on Dooku's shoulder and gently says, "It's over now." But beyond that he doesn't really step in to make Dooku do anything, which is especially understandable here, but even as a Jedi Master we see that he never really stepped in to do anything with Dooku. Which isn't Qui-Gon's fault, this is not a castigation of him or saying he was wrong. Because it's Dooku's choice to not deal with his darker feelings. Because we see that Yaddle does try to reach out to him but it still has to be Dooku's choice, she couldn't make it for him, Qui-Gon couldn't make it for him, all they can do is handle what's in front of them in the moment and be there if the person reaches out. They have to trust and believe in the person that they care about. Which Qui-Gon very obviously does! You can hear it in his voice and see it on his face in these scenes! And what I'm getting at is--that's exactly what Obi-Wan does with Anakin as well. He reaches out to talk to him, he makes himself available, we see that in AOTC, in TCW, in ROTS. We see on his face that he cares so much about Anakin! We see others make themselves available for Anakin to talk to, but that it has to be his choice still. Qui-Gon cared about Dooku, who was falling to the dark, just as Obi-Wan and Padme and Yoda cared about Anakin who was falling to the dark. Qui-Gon could not have magically solved Anakin's fall to the dark side because we already see he couldn't magically solve Dooku's, because it has to be that the person wants to make a different choice, they have to want to open up and be vulnerable. There's so much sympathy to be had for why Dooku or Anakin made the choices they did, that's why these characters love and care about them so much, because their motivations are sympathy-inspiring. But no one could save them from themselves if they didn't want to make the choice themselves, and Qui-Gon would not have been that magic save for Anakin, any more than Obi-Wan could have been a magic save for Dooku, if they'd been introduced sooner, not with the way Star Wars' narrative intentions work. I do believe that, in different circumstances (ones that mix-and-match Qui-Gon and Yoda and Obi-Wan's influences in their lives) people might have been inspired to make different choices, but it wouldn't have been a magic save. It would still be down to that the characters are responsible for their own choices and that Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan and Yoda are all generally equally able to/not able to save others. Qui-Gon wouldn't magically save Anakin from falling to the dark and couldn't save Dooku from falling to the dark, because he doesn't magically strip them of their own agency. That doesn't mean Qui-Gon cares about them any less, just like I honestly believe that Obi-Wan would have cared deeply about Dooku if places had been swapped, but he couldn't have magically saved him, either. Obi-Wan loved Anakin and did his best. Qui-Gon loved Dooku and did his best. And both of those beloved people still made their own choices, because all you can do is make yourself available and believe in them, whether they come through or not.

Shmi in tpm always has dignity, and her agency is emphasized, it's noteworthy. She's still not a main character- she's a role and a messenger more than a person in some ways- but her words and her choices are given respect by both the narrative and the main characters. She conveys several of the central themes and messages of the movies- and the entire series, bookending Vader's eventual choice. When Anakin wants to race, she is the one one who's permission he needs. She and Qui Gon speak quite extensively about Anakin going to the temple, and it's only with her permission that he asks Anakin, and then it's only with her encouragement that agrees. She's constricted by the harshest of circumstances, but her choices are some of the most important of the movie.
And she has this dignity about her.
