Two of the more infamous comics involving physical altercations between Dick and Bruce fall into this category.

Dick's motivations for fighting Bruce in both Nightwing vol. 3 #30 & Batman vol. 3 #138 are based around other people. In Batman Dick confronts Bruce over what he has done to Jason. In Nightwing once he understands what Bruce is asking of him Dick begins to fight back, citing their family and the recent loss of Damian as reasons why he can't.

In both of these Dick is fighting Bruce in defense of someone else.

Fighting Bruce for Bruce

There are three "fights" that fit this metric.

A much more minor altercation occurs in Officer Down. Dick stops Bruce from going too far against a goon by getting an arm around his neck, Bruce quickly throws him off and leaves.

In Bruce Wayne: Fugitive? Dick (along with Tim, Cass, and Babs) confronts Bruce over his recent escape from police custody, after explaining that there will no longer be a "Bruce Wayne" Dick attempts to fight him. Batman mostly evades Dick in this confrontation. Dick is again trying to appeal to Bruce, trying to get him to rethink a decision that is going to hurt himself. Later Bruce apologizes to Dick saying "… I deserved it."

The final fight in this section is a fight between a Bruce who has recently come into Superman's powers. Bruce has gone power hungry and violently attacks Selina. Dick attempts to fight Bruce, he doesn't believe he can win, but hopes instead that he can get through to Bruce, make him see that what he's doing is wrong. This fight leaves Dick seriously injured.

Taking the Hits

This final category is for instances where Dick does not fight back.

Dick goes to visit Bruce when he learns of Jason's death. Bruce turns the discussion confrontational quickly, putting blame on Dick for making him believe he could work with a partner. The encounter ending when Bruce punches Dick and yells at him before leaving. Dick doesn't attempt to fight back and accepts Bruce's accusations.

During the Court of Owls storyline it is revealed that Dick comes from a line of Talons and Bruce backhands Dick to knock a tooth out of Dick's mouth. Dick expresses no surprise by this, again just accepting it.

In the first 2 sections Dick's main motivations for fighting Bruce are for someone other than himself, either his family or Bruce himself. His own feelings on the matter are secondary (Nightwing 30 & Bruce Wayne: Fugitive) if given a thought at all. In comparison when Bruce is only targeting Dick, Dick takes the hit and doesn't advocate for himself at all.

In Dick's eyes if Bruce finds him guilty then he must be guilty of something and he deserves the punishment.

Underfell Papyrus - His LV is extremely unstable despite him pretending the opposite. It means that when he starts to get violent, he struggles a lot to stop. This is why he is scary when he is angry. His intensity goes from 0 to 100 in the blink of an eye. It's even worse when he's fighting, as he likes it so much he can sometimes hurt his allies because he just can't stop. Undyne usually fights him to exhaustion or injures him seriously, as it's sometimes the only way to stop him. He hates that and even though his control is a lot better with time, these crisis are still not rare.

Horrortale Sans - He doesn't regret killing Undyne. He doesn't regret injuring Alphys so much Undyne had to kill her. And he doesn't regret even one second murdering 80% of the royal guards during the famine. He doesn't regret keeping all the food only for Snowdin and condemning the rest of the Underground to a horrible death. He's not a good person. He accepted it long ago. Sometimes, imagining Undyne, Alphys, and all those people he killed burn in hell makes him feel better. He hopes they suffer eternally for what they've done.

Horrortale Papyrus - He still has extremely good hunting instincts despite how much he hates admitting it. Sometimes, when something runs in front of him, he has to stop himself from chasing it. His magic adapted to a life in the dark, so his eyes shine in the night, bright white. That's a vision you for sure don't want to see at 3 a.m., no matter if you love him a lot. He also has a titanic strength and could easily break a bone just with a pressure of the hand. His attacks are so powerful that he loses control easily, that's why he doesn't use his magic more than necessary anymore. Some of his bones are so big they shake the ground when he summons them. Like Papyrus, he is a forming boss monster that doesn't know he is a boss monster. He will never be able to control his magic fully before his soul fully ends his growth, and he stops aging. So yeah, he still has a lot of years of struggle with this.

Swapfell Sans - He used to torture a lot of monsters Underground to get information, and he still does it sometimes on the Surface when Toriel asks him to or if someone is threatening his family. He was feared in the Underground because the people he tortured and let go all got out with permanent, extremely painful disabilities. Nox pretty much shuts his mind when he's doing this, so he doesn't have any remorse. Also, he is scary when he is drunk, as he can sometimes turn violent when provoked. And his attacks hurt A LOT. He has a huge LV, and if he knows when to stop when he's entirely conscious, he for sure doesn't when he's drunk, and it can rapidly turn into a bloodbath if no one comes to stop him.

Swapfell Papyrus - He can make bombs with pretty much everything, and he's extremely good at making them. He learned during his years as a rebel, and he almost managed to kill his brother and the Queen in a cave-in once. He regretted it immediately and refused to create them again. However, sometimes when he's bored, his hands kinda do it automatically. That's something he doesn't want his brother to know, because well... He doesn't know Rus almost killed him, and that, at the time, he also really wanted to see him die in that explosion. That would be painful to explain now. Nox doesn't need to know.

Fellswap Gold Sans - Meeting him is scary, as Wine knows absolutely everything about you, from where you live to what you ate for dinner. You'll never know how he does that. Sometimes it seems he is just omniscient. But he can't be... Right?

Fellswap Gold Papyrus - Once he stole a monster candy in Muffet's pocket and he regretted it so much he came back the next day to drop the money in her other pocket. But he's extremely good at pickpocketing, and he's so stealthy it's hard to tell he's behind you sometimes.

Mafiatale Sans - Demon loves manhunt. It's like his favorite thing ever. Chasing people across the town, creeping on them to make them know he's watching and following them constantly with dark eye sockets when they see him, waiting the night to intrude their house and slowly creeping into their room until they notice him and scream out of pure terror... That's his kind of fun. That's funny only for him, though.

Mafiatale Papyrus - When he was little, Creeper was so jealous of his brother that, one night, he tried to suffocate him with a pillow. He almost did it, but couldn't end it at the last minute, because Demon woke up and fought back. Before his brother became second in the mafia, it was a regular thought. It's not that he hates his brother; he loves him, but the constant competition and how differently he was treated from him made Creeper snap multiple times. Sometimes, he can tell his brother is still scared of him and has never fully forgiven him.

Mafiafell Sans - He's extremely good at intimidating people. That's why he's mostly in charge of the interviews, as his brother often explodes and kills the suspects. He doesn't have to say anything most of the time. He has an aura that just make people shit themselves. If he wants to know something, he usually just has to sit in silence and stares at the guy without moving for them to start to feel uncomfortable. He is also very good at telling when people are lying, it's one of his little abilities.

Mafiafell Papyrus - His LV is completely unstable. He's a ticking bomb that could cause immense damage if provoked. Contrary to most of the skeletons Underground who learned to control their magic, no one did that for Torpedo, as Asgore chose him especially for how uncontrollable he gets when he starts to attack and kill. The main problem with that is that, when he start to kill, he can't stop. He is often sent on mission to kill entire mafia families because once he enters a base, he doesn't let any witnesses behind. He has no remorse killing, but he only stops when he runs out of magic, which leads to a lot of collateral damage. He sometimes kill people he was supposed to save, or poor citizens passing by, because he can't stop. He already attacked his brother several times like that, and even Asgore once. If his brother knows how to stay out of his way now, Asgore broke both his legs to teach him to never do that again, even though it's useless. Everyone fears Torpedo, as one big anger crisis can trigger him and start this all over again. Also, his magic is so messed up it acts as a repulsive on most monsters. Monsters that are extremely sensitive to magic flux, like Sans or Honey can't physically stay next to him for a long time because of how aggressive his magic is.

For as long as you could remember, Levi Ackerman had always been your favorite fictional character. There was something about his strength, his empathy, and his kindness that drew you to him.

Then, one day, the universe delivered him on a silver platter.

It was midsummer night when you found him. There he was, lying in your new antique wardrobe, groggy and half asleep, dark hair tousled to the side. You couldn’t believe what you were seeing; was this really your favorite anime character, in the flesh?

Before you could think on the logistics of it all, however, Levi was already reaching for the small knife tucked in his boot.

And threatening you with it.

It all happened in a flash.

With your heart drumming in your chest, you remember fumbling for words, looking straight into those sharp, silver eyes you’d always imagined must shine like starlight (and gods, they truly did).

Looking back, your first words lacked a certain decorum. “Wh—who—is this some kind of skit, huh? Are you some kind of pervert?!?”

Levi looked at you then like you were a complete idiot.

As it turned out, Levi was not, in fact, a pervert, nor did he mean to end up here in the first place.

Instead, he told you the hard facts: that he was Levi Ackerman, Captain of the Survey Corps. That he owned the same closet in his office, only in his own world. That the last thing he remembers was falling asleep in this piece of furniture, an attempt to hide from Hange who’d been up in arms trying to convince him to help with an experiment.

Your reality, it seemed, was connected to the Attack on Titan universe through a mysterious wardrobe.

It was then that it was decided that he would stay with you until he found a way home.

A month has passed since this first moment, and to say that your daily life has been altered would be an understatement. You’re living with one of your personal heroes, after all—not that you let him know you view him as such.

Levi is trying to get back to his world, and in the meantime, Levi gets to discover your world: the joys of washing machines, the taste of matcha tea, the ease of hoovers, rock music.

And today, he’s uncovering the mystery that is the internet.

“I don’t understand,” Levi grumbles, his voice rough like sandpaper. Lines of tension form across his pale forehead, his gaze fixed on your laptop propped on the kitchen table. “People spend their time looking at cat... paintings?”

He’s perusing your blog.

“These are actually photographs that you’re looking at, but I suppose people also love drawings of cats. Cats are a very popular topic, see,” you explain, coming closer as you stop him from clicking on a sketchy looking pop up: ‘Free iPhone 15! Claim Yours Now’.

Levi's charged gaze follows as he watches you go about it; you have the thought he smells nice, like fresh linen and tea.

You clear your throat, withdrawing from his personal space. “Um... anyway, that’s not all you can do with the internet. People use it for all sorts of things: you can look up the news, the weather, forums…”

He crosses his arms over his chest, leaning back in the chair. “What’s that? Sounds like a disease.”

Ah, where to start...

“Forums are online spaces where people can discuss things. You can host debates, provide instructions, and more. Personally, I use them to gush about things I love. Like books!”

Levi clicks his tongue. “So, a bookclub?”

“Mm, yes, and no. Like sure, on the forum I'm a mod for, I love to discuss the plot, the characters, and the writing, but I also just enjoy goofing around with my friends and sharing memes.”

“Me...mes.” Levi looks puzzled by this word.

You stifle a snort. “Memes are like... jokes. Only sometimes, they're also cultural staples.” At his skeptical expression, you shrug. “I guess this world is different from yours, in that respect. We have... less immediate dangers, more free time.”

“That's not a bad thing,” he mutters, tone oddly soft. He averts his tepid gaze, looking back to your blog as he exhales through his nose. “But your world still makes no sense to me. Especially all of this.”

He nods towards the web page.

“It’s okay, the internet takes a while to get used to," you say. "Even for me... I constantly feel like an old crone whenever I hear all the lingo kids are coming up with these days.”

“Hmph.”

Levi looks unimpressed. So, forums—and the internet, it seems—aren’t his thing. Probably for the better—the last thing you need right now is for him to realize there’s a whole fanbase devoted to discussing his character (not to mention the other, less PG-friendly aspects of the conversation).

���Hey, how about we take a break?" You tilt your head, flashing him an easy smile. "You’ve been staring at the screen all morning. It can be a strain on your eyesight.”

Levi’s half-lidded stare crinkles, his lips pursing into a thoughtful pout, the same look he gets whenever you throw him scraps of information about your world and its strange customs.

“I was planning to make some tea,” you add, “want a cup?”

“… if you're making one anyway,” he mumbles, scowling in a way that reminds you of a grumpy cat. Cute.

You head towards your small kitchen, grabbing Levi’s favorite tea bag and laying out clean cups. As the kettle groans alive and you eventually hear that familiar sizzling that tells you the water’s come to a boil, another noise coming from behind garners your attention.

“Oi, something happened to your cat photo-thing,” you overhear Levi drawl.

You turn with a raised brow.

That’s when you notice that Levi’s somehow ended up on your desktop page, the familiar sight of your screensaver (more cats!) appearing into view.

But that’s also when you notice the mouse is hovering dangerous close to one of your folders... your babygirl folder.

Oh, no.

Oh, no, no, no...

“DON’T CLICK THAT!” you plead, attempting to rush to his side to avoid the embarrassment of a lifetime.

Too late. Levi has entered the folder and somehow managed to click on one of the more scandalous pictures; your peripheral catches his expression, and it's the most stupor you've seen on his face yet... and is that pink dusting his cheeks?

Because Levi is looking straight at one of the fanarts you’d saved of him months ago.

The Real Timeline of Amphoreus the Long Ass Post:

So to those who played 3.4 at the end we get a new thing to look at. Computer logs of Lygus's experiments to make irontomb out of the Emperor's Scepter δ-me13. It can be confusing about the way things went down so I want to make this post to explain it out.

TL;DR

The point of the cycles is to complete the equation of Destruction and have Irontomb be born. Each phase I'm about to list is a type of evolution of the equation.

Phase 1: Inorganics Cycles 1-50,121

Phase 2: Organics Cycles 50,122-176,199

Phase 3: Humans Cycles 176,200-28,371,273

Phase 4: Era Nova Cycles 28,371,274-28,371,292

Cycle 28,371,293 has done 33,550,336 cycles of a dead loop. Irontomb was ready to be born but Khaslana and Cyrene stopped him and Lygus. They are forcing the loops to happen again and again but they've not exited the Phase 4 testing. They wouldn't be able to live before then.

Phase One: Inorganics 1-50,121

In the First Phase only Inorganic Lifeforms exist. The 12 Chrysos Heirs as we know them don't exist. They're lines of code, 12 Factors. And more than that they're a unified entity. That go on to complete 50,121 cycles. But what about Our cycles I hear you ask. Don't stress about it I'll get there.

In these cycles the 12 Factors attempt to separate from each other again and again. But begin competing for computing space. And attack each other which puts them back into the unified consciousness.

In cycle 50,121 a factor labeled Chaoz666 kills another Factor to avoid being consumed. This version of destructive self defense draws the gaze of Nanook. Think Cain killing Abel nothing like that had ever happened in δ-me13. Now δ-me13 had been gazed on by Nanook to be a Lord Ravager. This means all 12 Factors get their golden blood and future destructive tendancies from Nanook.

Throughout every phase Lygus is bringing δ-me13 to different galaxies to try and destroy them but isn't happy with the destruction equation until the end.

Phase One ends there.

Phase Two: Organics 50,122-176,199

Organics. It begins with the start of evolution. Aglea destroying the planet with too much oxygen. Small invertebrates. We work our way up to vertebrates. And finally primates. They make a couple proto civilizations. But these modules, factors, heirs eat each other still. Someone tries to make some art.

And someone kills another module out of love. In cycle 176,100. This glitches out the equation bad equations killing to something other than destruction to causes a glitch for 99 more cycles.

Lygus ends Phase Two there.

Phase Three: Humans 176,200-28,371,273

The longest phase by far. The phase of Humans. The first thousand cycles Lygus tries to introduce the concept of memory.

The first real human civilization is lead by what is likely a proto Aglaea referred to as an electrical charge causing a civilization of beauty that ends with all ugly people being killed. Everybody gets killed and the final (twisted) knight of beauty kills themselves.

Religion starts around the electrical charges (heirs) and they in the 3 millions of cycles try to kill gods for power. Lygus stops that cycle himself.

Around cycle 7 million Lygus splits the electrical charges in half. Giving birth to the first iteration of Titans and Heirs but they weren't that just yet.

At cycle 11 million Fovos032 (most people guess proto Mydei- Phobos and Deimos) tried to save himself and other electrical charged by preserving their memories in a backup basically. It failed.

At cycle 19 million Lygus uses Fovos032's decision making data to make autonomous cycle loops. From here on out the electrical charges will be swapping place. This greatly increases their evolution and the equations processing.

At 28 million cycles, they complete their first autonomous loop. Lygus calls it a success and concludes phase 3.

Phase 4: Era Nova 28,371,274-28,371,292

The Chrysos Heirs and Titans exist proper here. Everything we've learned about Amphoreus is in Phase 4. Lygus didn't tell us anything about before this.

Every single phase after this completes. They are rapidly rushing towards the finish of Irontomb.

Eternal Recurrence: 28,371,293 ∞ 33,550,336 times

UNTIL Cycle 28,371,293. For some reason Lygus think he should tell NeiKos496 (Khaslana) and PhiLia093 (Cyrene) that he's making a Lord Ravager to destroy the whole universe. Cyrene using Fuli's power turns herself into time. And Khaslana using his rage loops 33,550,336 times. But it's the same Era Nova Phase. He can't go back to another phase. And Lygus refers to it as a dead loop. There's no backtracking from where they've got to.

It's Trailblazer's job to stop the acnesion of Irontomb and I feel like we're going to figure out that cycle 1 isn't the real cycle 1 at some point.

Confirmed he is human but refused to tell his age. Also talked a bit about past experiences with different kingdoms, confirming the kingdom of fools is the first one he founded and saying he never had any doubt about his victory and still doesn't because he can't lose

Went to an altar far from spawn; met Stultus there and used Stultus's black magic to sign a letter using Ros’s name, which is a letter asking for help to kill the king while keeping the castle intact

ARMIN CHOSE TO TELL HIS TRUTH AND THAT MADE ALL THE DIFFERENCE

Towards the end of Attack on Titan Season 4, the long-awaited ships, AruAni, EreMika, and LeviHan—each faced a similar emotional crossroads, though at different points in the story. These moments revolved around a single question: would they finally confront and acknowledge the feelings they had kept buried for so long? Each pair had previously deflected their emotions for different reasons.

1. AruAni - Annie was crystallized and unreachable for much of the series,

2. EreMika - Eren was consumed by his drive to kill all the titans and later for the search of freedom.

3. LeviHan - Both Levi and Hange consistently chose duty over personal connection, prioritizing the sacrifices of their comrades above all else.

This narrative parallel added emotional depth to the finale, highlighting the human cost of war, duty, and unspoken truths.

If these characters were able to deflect their feelings for the past 3 seasons, then what changed? It’s simple, in Season 4 the stakes were higher and survival is not definite more than ever. (Even compared during the titans were their only enemies). Heck, even Levi was nerfed so no one’s safe during S04.

Hence the characters’ vulnerabilties were shown.

So back to the confrontations of feelings.

Let’s start with EreMika.

When Eren asked Mikasa "What am I to you? Mikasa hesitated, then she went on to say "You are family." in a sense it was true, but it was not her only truth, Eren was more than a family, additionally, that's not the answer that would make Eren stay, but of course Mikasa was not aware on the extent of Eren’s future plans.

As for Levi, when he was asked by Hange "Shall we live here, just the two of us?" Levi chose to answered with "If we keep running and hiding...what will that get us?" and when he saw the carriage Hange was fixing, continued with, "I know you...you're not able to stay out of action."

He did not reject her proposal but he reminded her who she really is, and he supports her decision and she does not need to explain herself to him. Together, they chose to keep fighting rather than run. It was a clear, rational choice, but it wasn’t Levi’s only truth.

The Ackerman parallels.

Mikasa and Levi who both hesitated to tell the truth when they were confronted by it.

Because of that, Eren and Hange's decision were shaped by the answers they received from Mikasa and Levi. Those questions were crucial in Eren and Hange’s next decisions (spoiler alert, they both sadly died)

But when Armin was faced with the same situation, He chose to say his truth.

When he was confronted by it, he didn’t hesitate to tell Annie the truth. Shy, yes—but not hesitant. He didn’t think of their fallen comrades. He didn’t stop to wonder if it was selfish to speak of feelings, even as the world was being destroyed by The Rumbling. He didn’t believe that him and Annie coming to terms with how they felt would hinder their mission.

He continued to fight even if Annie chose to stay behind. Armin chose to say his truth because he does not want to have any regrets. No matter what happens with the battle with Eren, at least he was able to tell his truth. And it was worth it, because of Annie’s reaction to his confession, he got his answer. Annie did reciprocate his feelings.

Annie's next decision, even is not solely based on Armin's answer, but it was influenced by it. Annie’s decision to stay behind was now final and she has no doubts about it now. She does not want to fight anymore and she doesn't want to see any of the alliance get hurt, specially Armin so it finalized her decision not to fight anymore. (Yes she decided to fight again, but that was because the discovered Falco's ability to fly and Armin was taken.)

Imagine what would happen if Armin deflected the question or he had other thoughts than just saying his truth.

For Armin, choosing the truth is not selfish, even if Annie said that it does not feel right to talk about their feelings while The Rumbling was happening but it did not stop him.

For Levi and Mikasa, they both missed the chance. And those missed chances will then lead to them loosing the people they deeply care about.

I wonder, even if the chances of living their dreams of having a peaceful life with the people they love were slim, even futile—what might have happened if Mikasa and Levi had chosen to speak the truth? Would it save Eren and Hange? Or were they always meant to lose them, no matter what they said?

Raven, the Empathetic Sorceress Part 3

Healing

In NTT, Raven could heal others, more specifically absorbing the people's pain to induce their healing.

The scope of what Raven can heal has varied in NTT but traditionally, it's more limited in scope: she can't heal diseases or severe injuries

(Tales of New Teen Titans #2- Young Raven learns of her ability to heal by saving a dove's life. The Goddess Azar tells Raven that Raven ability to heal is fairly limited, and Raven explains that to the team as well as absorbing other's pain add to her suffering and is painful.)

Raven was known in NTT for being a healer because, she didn't like conflict (aside from knocking people out unconscious*lol)

There is a misconception around TT03 that Raven never healed. On one hand, this is understandable because it wasn't as dramatic or grandiose as in the comics or the DCAMU when Raven healed Damian. However this isn't the case.

TT03 Raven was a healer as well; her ability just hewn closer to the original limitations of her healing.

Raven healed several times in the show:

Healed a limping Beast Boy in the pilot

(Teen Titans 1x01 "Final Exam"- After being defeated by the HIVE, Raven helps a limping Beast Boy returning to Titan Tower and heals his injury and telling him they had to accept what happened, a sign of Raven's maturity and wisdom)

2. Reduce a major injury Robin had to a minor fracture (a sign of her healing abilities being limited)

(Teen Titans 2x07 "Fractured"- In a fight against Johnny Rancid, Robin is seriously injured with a broken arm but Raven is able to reduce the serious injury to a minor fracture.)

3. Healing Herself After Being Attacked By Adonis

(Teen Titans 3x09 "The Beast Within"- After Raven was seriously attacked by Adonis, Raven went into a trance to heal herself)

Here are other times which I think count but I understand if people don't want to:

4. Attempt to Heal Robin's Mind

(Teen Titans 3x05 "Haunted"- After finding Robin, Raven enters his mind to try to show Robin the truth to soothe his troubled mind)

In "Haunted", when Robin escaped after suffering a breakdown, Raven used her soul-self to find Robin and enter his mind. Raven tries to convince him that Slade isn't physically there to calm him down. This, to me, is Raven trying to heal Robin's mind by addressing the root cause of Robin's mental issues- Slade's existence- to free from the stress he is under. This is similar to NTT #14 where Raven tries to find the root of Mento's mental distress so he can be free from the mental illness plaguing him.

(NTT (1980) #14- Finding a disoriented Mento, Beast Boy's dad, Raven sense an emotional disturbance in Mento and try to soothe his pain but couldn't)

5. Defeated Plasmus

I know this is seemingly a unexpected choice because Raven uses her soul-self to knock Plasmus out unconscious, but when you consider Plasmus's character, this is an act of empathy & healing in my opinion.

(Teen Titans 4x11 "The End Part 1"- Raven recites Azarath Metrion Zinthos, summoning more of her power, and knocks out Plasmus granting him the peace he deserves)

Plasmus, real name- Otto Von Furth, is a tragic figure in TT03. He can't control his transformation into Plasmus, and has to remain in a stasis tank or be permanently unconscious to remain human & not transform into Plasmus. Otto readily accepts this sad fate to stay human. When Slade forcibly wakes him up in "Divide And Conquer" (Teen Titans 1x02- Plasmus 1st appearances), Otto begs to be put to sleep, but Slade mocks him and ignores his cries. TT03 Raven using her full astral form can form a soul-link with someone (e.g. with Robin in "Haunted" which she later mentions in "Birthmark" that after entering Robin's mind, she and Robin share a soul-link), so she, in her astral form, likely realized Otto's desires after ending Plasmus's mind, and so with the natural abilities of her soul-self, granted Otto's wish for rest. This act of healing a distressed person is similar to Raven putting Mark, a distressed man having an episode, to rest in NTT #35.

6. Healed Plasmus again

(This was in Teen Titans 5x12 "Titans Together", but I am not going to post the scene because it is essentially the same scene as the one in "The End Part 1")

Thus, Raven healed someone at least once a season. Again, I don't blame people for the misconception, but it was a kid's show so they won't going to have people with major injuries but whenever they need a healer, Raven was there.

Empathy in Practice

Part 1 already covered how TT03 Raven is an empath, but how does she used her empathy in practice outside of healing?

Conventional Use of Empathy

Emotional Manipulation

Now as an empath, Raven can alter and manipulate people's emotions.

In TT03, Raven doesn't manipulate emotions to the extent NTT Raven, which is understandable because on a kid's show, you don't want to condone manipulating emotions. Also, NTT Raven also eventually stops manipulating emotions without consent because she realized how messed up it was.

(1st image: NTT (1980) #4 - Zatanna reveals to Wally that Raven forced her to fall in love with her so Raven can use Wally in the fight against Trigon; 2nd image: NTT (1980) #14- Raven apologizes to Wally saying she now realizes that manipulating people's emotions to force them to do what you want is wrong)

This doesn't mean TT03 Raven can't manipulate emotions, but rather TT03 Raven only does so in a 'break-in-case-of-emergency' situation:

(Teen Titans 3x04 "Crash"- After Gizmo refused to help the Titans to fix Cyborg, Robin gives Raven the go-ahead to exploit Gizmo's fears and force him to help them )

What Raven did in "Crash": sense Gizmo's fears and exploit them to pressure him into saving her friend as a last resort is similar to what NTT #14 stated she can do as an empath.

(NTT (1980) #14- After Mento for a lack of a better word went bersek and attacked the Titans, Raven exploit Mento's love for his dead wife, Rita, to get her to calm down)

Sensing People & Emotions

Because of her empathic ability, Raven can sense things, such as people's presence to find them.

(NTT (1980) #1- Raven sense Starfire's arrival and ask Titans to follow her to help save Starfire)

TT03 Raven uses this ability to find Starfire such as the TT03 prequel episode- Teen Titans 5x10 "Go" in a scene reminiscent of NTT #1 (1st scene in GIF below)

As well to try to find the White Monster the Titans were chasing in the series finale (Teen Titans 5x13 "Things Change") (2nd scene in GIF above)

This sensing ability of TT03 Raven not only extends to sensing people's presence, but also even more specifically the distress of others, particularly those of she cares about.

For example in "Haunted" (shown in the GIF below) when Raven felt Beast Boy's pain after he was attacked by Robin, Raven's sensing ability caused Raven to sense Beast Boy's distress and thus wake up from her healing trance.

This TT03 scene is reminiscent of NTT (1980) #10 (image below) when Beast Boy was severely injured and almost killed by Deathstroke. Raven sensed Beast Boy's immense pain and immediately teleported to him.

TT03 Raven, like NTT Raven, can also sense strong emotions of others. For example in Titans 2x08 - "Titans Rising" (GIF below), Raven sensed the strong, conflicting emotions of Terra after Terra rejoined the team, triggering a premonition, another ability of NTT Raven. This premonition revealed Terra's allegiance to Slade and subsequently betrayal which ultimately caused TT03 Raven to not completely trust Terra, similar to comic Raven's mistrust of Terra in Judas Contract.

TT03 and NTT Raven's ability to sense emotions as an empath is why Raven is known as a healer. Again, going back to the example with Robin and Plasmus, because she can sense their emotional disturbances, TT03 Raven can heal or attempt to heal people's minds- another conventional use of her empathy.

Grounded Use of Empathy: Understanding

In this long series breaking down TT03 Raven's powers, this might be my favorite section because this is so underrated about TT03 Raven. Though TT03 had Raven use her empathy in more conventional ways, TT03 really honed in on having Raven use her empathetic ability in a grounded sense.

Again Raven was an empath who felt everything yet had to deny her emotions and pretend not to feel anything (Part 1).

Yet underneath that faux cold demeanor & layer of sarcasm (which was always overrated imo), Raven was always to provide emotional support, be a shoulder to lean on & to vent your internal struggles (something that was all too easy for her to understand).

Beast Boy

Raven and Beast Boy's relationship was complicated, to say the least. Complete opposites, Raven struggled with Beast Boy's strong emotions, immaturity, & need for external validation. So Beast Boy thought Raven didn't like him. In turn, Raven thought BB hated her.

But Raven was there to provide comfort when Beast Boy needed someone, particularly at his lowest moment.

Teen Titans 3x09 The Beast Within - Beast Boy gets pushed too far by Adonis & thus unleashes his inner beast on him to win. Afterwards this battle, Beast Boy acts abnormally, eats meat & diary, and is awful to everyone, especially Raven. Beast Boy is ultimately turned into a out-of-control primal werebeast and Beast Boy's friends turn on him after believing he hurt Raven. Titans discovered Adonis also transformed into a werebeast & Beast Boy, in his primal werebeast form, was trying to save Raven & defeat Adonis who was obsessed with Beast Boy and Raven. Beast Boy eventually succeeds.

Beast Boy was given an antidote so he wouldn't have uncontrollable transformations into a werebeast anymore nor act like a toxic jerk, but after the ordeal, Beast Boy was badly shaken.

Raven, all too familiar with the agonizing regret in the aftermath of losing control, tries to comfort Beast Boy telling him it wasn't his fault and he has regained control (GIF below).

But Beast Boy is still mortified of his inner beast.

Raven, all too familiar with fear of your inner beast (Trigon), reminds him that his inner beast saved her life & it wasn't all bad. What's important is knowing when to release that inner beast for good - that is what makes him mature and human, reassuring Beast Boy (GIF below)

Once she sense Beast Boy was okay, she put her usual veneer of sarcasm back down.

Raven carries a deep, internal shame of her demon heritage & of her father (as Teen Titans 1x06 "Nevermore" shown), so her willingness to discuss the lessons she learn from it & the good from it despite her usual reluctance because she saw a friend in deep pain, despite their conflicts, shows how she understands and cares.

Robin

Due to their similar personalities, Raven was very close with Robin & shared a deep sense of mutual respect with him.

As such, Raven was always willing to comfort Robin when he was in emotional distress, especially when Starfire wasn't there to provide emotional support.

(1st Scene - Teen Titans 3x05 "Haunted"- As soon as Robin became agitated after realizing the Titans do not believe him, Raven was the first one to try to calm him down & was careful to use a gentle, non-accusatory tone with Robin to figure what was going on with him; 2nd Scene- Teen Titans 5x05 "Snowblind" - Raven tries to comfort a clearly worried Robin after Starfire went missing)

Again, throughout "Haunted", Raven was the only Titan who never became agitated at or rude towards Robin during his mental breakdown, likely sensing Robin's severe emotional distress. She tried to find a physical cause and when that failed, tried to heal Robin's mind, learning all his memories & forming a soul-link between the two.

With the soul-link from her empathetic powers , she was able to truly understand the source of Robin's plight: that to him, Slade was real and was actually fighting him. She showed the other Titans, Robin was in true mental, and thus physical, distress & was not being delusional (GIF below).

Starfire

Starfire always wore her emotions on her sleeve, and in her distress, either turn to Robin for emotional support or remove herself. But that doesn't mean Raven was never there when Starfire needed her.

In "How Long Is Forever", Starfire wanted to celebrate a Tamaranian Festival of Friendship with the other Titans but she was devastated when she discovered the other Titans were fighting, which ultimately result in her handcrafted festival necklaces being destroyed. Starfire, distressed at her broken necklaces, was upset at her friends fighting, worried this will cause their friendships to end. Raven with all the other Titans dismiss Starfire's concerns, saying it's normal roommate fights.

Then Starfire gets trapped in a wormhole & ends in a dystopian future where her worst fears have come and the Titans have split. Starfire is able to return to the present and tells her friends of the future. Other Titans were depressed at hearing their future, but Starfire suggests there is still hope to change their fate.

Sensing Titans' sadness at the potential end of their friendship & and sensing Starfire's quiet optimism & still burning desire for the festival, Raven suggest celebrating the Tamaranian Friendship Festival anyway, rebuilding the Starfire's beloved festival necklaces.

Uplifting All The Titans' Spirits but Especially Starfire's:

1st Scene - Teen Titans 2x01: "How Long Is Forever"; 2nd Scene: Teen Titans 3x03: "Betrothed"

The 2nd scene of the GIF above is from "Betrothed". In it, Raven tells Robin it's unfair to question Starfire's culture just because it's different from Earth's after Starfire is about to enter an arranged wedding. On the surface, this is another instance of Raven gently attempting to calm down an agitated Robin (which is true).

But this Raven quote encapsulates the deep respect and understanding she has for Starfire and her immigranthood.

Raven always felt like an outsider due to not only to her struggles to control her demon side, but also because her methods of control are from her home Azarath: an inter-dimensional society with practices (mediation, self-denial, mysticism) seemingly bizarre to Americans like Robin, Cyborg, and Beast Boy.

So like Starfire, Raven is an immigrant and understand the difficulty navigating cultural differences between your old home with your new one. Throughout the series, whenever Starfire perform a 'bizarre' Tamaranian cultural tradition or did something out-of-synch with conventional Earth culture (ie drinking mustard), Raven was the only Titan who rarely bat an eye. Although other Titans would never admonish Starfire for her naïveté  around Earth custom or "strange" ones, but they were usually bewildered, but not Raven.

This is all the more apparent when the Titans visited Tamaran, Starfire's homeland in "Betrothed." Not only was Raven nonplussed compared to other Titans about seeing Tamaran's traditions in practice, but she was also willing to provide assurance to Starfire about her traditions' validity. When the Titans arrived to Tamaran and Starfire described it as beautiful despite seeing only ugly rock formations around, Raven was the only one who agreed about its beauty despite initial hesitation. When Starfire's husband-to-be Glgrdsklechhh was revealed, and all the Titans, including Starfire, were disgusted, Raven, after hesitation, tried to hearten Starfire's spirit by saying he's cute.

Both instances, there wasn't a hint of Raven's trademarked sarcasm, but rather kindness & reassurance because Raven likely sensed Starfire's excitement, nervousness & trepidation about this visit. All this is encapsulated by when Beast Boy express curiosity & excitement seeing the alien animals on Tamaran, Raven reminds him: "He's the alien here."

These instances sum up to Raven's understanding of being an outsider with Starfire, validating her cultural differences, and the deep respect she had for Starfire's culture & how her personality flows from it, despite their seemingly clashing personalities and cultures.

Cyborg

Raven & Cyborg's friendship is so underrated, especially since their friendship was where Raven's grounded empathy and understanding are arguably the most present.

In "Car Trouble", Cyborg took so much care to build T-Car, calling it his baby & was so excited to show the other Titans his creation, but Raven was the only Titan who didn't care (remember she can fly & teleport lol). Cyborg then loses the car & becomes extremely upset when Titans said they wanted to turn Overload over to the police before searching for the car. Raven becomes rather rude & said Cyborg's car is not a big deal because it was just a car; Cyborg then becomes furious & goes off to search for the car alone. Gizmo steals the T-Car and Cyborg becomes utterly dejected, believing the car is lost forever.

Raven, realizing her screw-up, goes to find Cyborg, but Cyborg tells her it's a lost cause & maybe she's right: it was just a car (GIF below).

(Teen Titans 1x13 "Car Trouble")

Sensing his love for the car, Raven disagrees and instead affirms that the T-Car was part of him, his baby, not just a car, so it does matters, raising Cy's spirits (GIF below).

Raven joins Cyborg to look for the T-Car, but eventually Overload finds it and overtakes it. So in order to defeat Overload, Cyborg has to destroy the car & naturally becomes dejected the T-Car is gone.

Raven reminds Cyborg what made the car special was his soul, not the parts, so he can always rebuild the T-Car. And then Raven assist him in doing just that (GIF below):

("Car Trouble" - What's Raven is pointing to in this GIF is a blue and black chip board that came from Cyborg that made T-Car functional- a physical representation of his soul. Raven goes on to spend hours rebuilding a car she admittedly doesn't care about just because it meant that much to Cyborg)

Raven's care and empathy for Cyborg shows up again in "Cyborg the Barbarian":

In "Cyborg the Barbarian", Cyborg gets stranded 5000 years in the past. He meets The Village, a tribe of warriors battling the Green Gruesomes. Despite his initial reluctance, especially due to his diminishing power battery, Cyborg decides to join the battle against the Green Gruesomes, assisting the Village and their beautiful leader, Sarasim.** However, before the battle is over, Raven rescues him, leaving Cyborg distraught. And a devastated Cyborg grabs Raven, pleading with her to send him back.

Instead of reacting harshly as she usually, especially due to being grabbed, Raven gently told him she can't send him back (GIF below):

(Teen Titans 4x04 "Cyborg the Barbarian")

Cyborg walks away from his friends distraught, saying that he didn't get to say goodbye, while Raven looks at Cyborg with sympathy.

Sensing Cyborg's wallowing in his pain & regret, Raven visits Cyborg & shows him one of her books. The book reveals that Sarasim & the Village were ultimately victorious & commemorated Cy for his bravery. Raven then leaves the book with Cyborg, and seeing the return of his joy, smiles (GIF below):

Using her powers can put a strain on Raven, so you imagine using the full extent of her soul-self energy trying to pinpoint Cyborg across space and time would have done to her. Not only the strain of finding Cyborg but also using her soul-self energy to carry Cyborg 5,000 years through time. All this took a lot from Raven, and Cyborg not only didn't even thank her, but rather gripped her tightly, and begged to be send back, ignoring all that Raven sacrificed. But istead of expressing rage, frustration, or even sarcasm at Cyborg's lack of gratitude, Raven, seeing Cyborg's turmoil and pain, regretfully said she couldn't. So, Cyborg walked away, heartbroken and disappointed. And after this, Raven then searched her extensive ancient book collection, looking for the name Cyborg called out before he walked away from his friends dejected to give her friend some sense of comfort. Finding what she was looking and sensing his grief, Raven shows to Cyborg her book detailing how Sarasim and the Village won & how they never forgot what he did, like he will never forget them. After Raven provides Cyborg the closure he was searching for, Raven let Cyborg hold onto the book and read more of Sarasim's adventures. This was a big deal because Raven never let anyone touch her books since most are dangerous spell books that need to be handled, yet she let Cyborg keep one of hers just so he can gain much-needed peace. Raven did all this to a friend that was frankly ungrateful of what Raven sacrificed to save him because she understood Cyborg was reacting in pain and struggling with his sense of loss, not inherently trying to be rude.

The care she showed to the Titans shows that TT03 Raven was the most understanding Titan, sensing her friends' pain and go to many lengths to soothe them in her own way, trying to comfort them in a way she herself wanted to be comforted.

Magic

Raven and her relationship to magic is 2nd biggest misconception about TT03 and NTT Raven, and it's two-fold one: 1) that TT03 Raven only practiced magic & didn't use her empathy nor soul-self (those misconceptions were disproven in parts 1/2 and 2) that NTT Raven had no involvement with magic.

NTT Raven wasn't technically a witch*** (& she didn't like being called it lol), but that doesn't mean she had no involvement with the art of magic.

Raven was openly a mystic and was trained in Azarath mysticism.

Azarath was a mystic society, created & run by sorcerers- the ritual to purge themselves of evil created Trigon (as shown in the image from NTT (1980) #3)

NTT Raven was raised by mystics and sorcerers and thus was a mystic & sorceress too and was called such in the comic. Mystics & sorceress both utilize magic, and Raven's empathy powers and soul-self utilization were forms of sorcery, mysticism & thus magic.

When Raven was created by Marv Wolfman, Len Wein, the editor, asked Wolfman to create a mystic character without conventional uses of sorcery to differentiate the character from Dr. Strange.

TT03 Raven didn't have the same restriction as Wolfman, so she could employ more conventional uses of sorcery & magic to augment her empathetic & soul-self powers which she did (Images on left-hand side below):

And just to further drive the point home, NTT Raven did use magic outside of Azarath mysticism & sorcery. As the image on the right showed, she used Brother Blood's own magic to augment her own sorcery, free herself and the entire world from his mind control, and thus defeat him.

So, Raven always was a practitioner of magic, TT03 Raven made the connection to magic more explicit and stronger.

“Thought you were here to help me,” he mumbles, merely glancing at you for a second before getting back to folding and sorting the pile of clothes on the bed.

He doesn't hear you, attention focused on the t-shirts he's sorting on the bed.

“Oh yeah sorry… I was certain I'd lost this,” he holds his football jersey up for you to see before looking at the glasses in your hands.

“Those are Jean's,” he answers as he points to the right box. You let out an involuntary chuckle.

“Nothing… weirdly enough, it seems very Jean-like to own these,” you explain.

“Didn’t know you talked to him enough to assess his personality,” you hear him mumble, still faced away from you, folding his clothes.

“Better?” he enquires and you nod your head as you caress his hair softly. You giggle when he peppers your belly with lazy kisses. He sighs in satisfaction as his hands roam all over your body with a gentle pressure, “I love this… staying with you like this.” 

“I’m going to miss you even more now,” you pat his head softly.

“Should I just tell my parents I’m staying back for an internship or some shit?” The way he speaks makes you wonder if he’s seriously considering it.

“No? They’ll see through your bullshit like always,” you state and he slumps, groaning against your stomach.

“How am I gonna handle not being so close to you for a whole damn month?” he looks up to smile at you and you smile back. You're about to reply but freeze in place when you hear someone fiddle with the door lock. Your eyes widen as you stare at Reiner.

“WAIT!” he shouts as he gets off you, hearing the door unlock but it’s too late. He quickly manages to haphazardly cover your bodies with his single blanket before Jean walks in.

The new intruder stops dead in his tracks when he sees you next to Reiner. You hold the blanket close to your chest to prevent it from slipping as Reiner sits up next to you.  

You give Jean an almost apologetic grin and he forces himself to recover quickly to avoid further embarrassment. 

He clears his throat before looking at Reiner. “You forgot to put a sock...” his words trail off as he points to the door.

“Sorry, it just happened–” Reiner rubs the back of his neck as he drags out his excuse, but before he can finish his sentence, Jean mumbles an ‘alright’ before walking out and closing the door behind him.

You sigh as you look at Reiner.

“What?” he asks as he turns to lie on his side to face you, head resting against his bicep.

“I don’t know why, I feel bad for him,” you pout as you run your fingers through his hair to flatten the messy strands.

He wraps his free arm around you to pull you closer, “Eh… he should’ve seen it coming. He knew we’d kissed.”

You look up at him in surprise, “He did?”

“‘If y'all didn’t go beyond a kiss, nothing’s gonna happen’... so no, I don’t really feel bad for him,” he shrugs.

“Reiner, you’re a meanie,” you let out a chuckle as you shake your head.

“If not wanting another dude to steal my girl is being a meanie then sure, I’ll proudly be a meanie for you,” he kisses the top of your head as his arm traces your silhouette, lowering the blanket off your body along the way.

You blush as you lean forward to give him a quick peck. He wraps his arm around your waist, turning you over till you're straddling him. You rest your head on his chest as he draws circles on your back. 

“Reiner?” you look up at him, placing your hands gently on his chest.

“Hmm?”

“I really like you,” you bite the inside of your cheek nervously. This confession feels a lot more vulnerable than the one from earlier.

“I do too,” he smiles as he takes your hand before bringing it to his lips to place a reassuring kiss on your knuckles. You giggle when he bites the skin playfully. His hand leaves yours to slide down your lower back before squeezing your butt.

“Shit– maybe I can pull out this time?” he suggests as his hand slides over to your pussy.

“No way!” you slap his chest.

“Ugh… fine… put on some clothes if you want to avoid that,” he slaps your butt, earning a yelp from you. He laughs as he wraps his arms around you tightly.

“Okay… let me go,” you try to move but he hugs you tighter.

“No, you feel so soft,” he hums as his hands move down to knead your asscheeks. You hum as you rest comfortably on top of him, tracing the muscles of his arm lazily. A few moments pass by in silence before your stomach rumbles, embarrassingly loud.

Reiner laughs, “I guess we have to get out now.”

“I’m starving,” you confess as you laugh back awkwardly.

“Good god, you’re so fucking cute,” he flips you around till he’s on top before kissing you softly. You feel his fingers wrap around your throat as his tongue invades your mouth once again. You hook your legs around his lower back and his hips grind against yours on instinct. You let out a soft moan as your arms hug his wide back, pulling him closer and he groans into the kiss.

“Don't do that… I'm trying my best to hold back,” he scolds as he breaks away from the kiss. 

You trace your index finger down his torso playfully, “Maybe we can buy another pack on our way back?”

“Okay, let’s get you some food,” he kisses you hastily before springing out of bed.

You laugh as you follow behind him before making your way to the bathroom door. He hands you his towel and you’re about to step into the bathroom but stop when he calls your name. You look back at him, puzzled.

“Wear my jersey.”

Selfish or Selfless? Understanding why Eren did the Rumbling.

There's a lot of confusion and misunderstandings of the reasons why Eren did the rumbling, due to so many conflicting factors and the mask he was using during the entirety of the final arc. In his final conversation with Armin, he gives so many reasons and yet keeps contradicting himself about everything and it only adds to the confusion, so this is my attempt to explain why Eren did what he did, and why it's founded on irrationality and how that's perfect for his character and the themes of Attack of Titan.

Eren's Motives

Three of his generally accepted motives are these:

1- To see the sight in the book, aka, "levelling" the land. His childish dream he couldn't let go of.

2- To save his friends by having them kill him (they would be seen as heroes and the titan curse would end, saving Armin, Reiner, Annie, etc.).

(The result being the end of the titan's curse)

3- Keep Paradis safe (the level of development of the world would be incredibly reduced, Eren's friends could act as diplomats, and Paradis would now have a fighting chance.)

(I'd argue this motive is just a happy consequence of his real priorities, number 1 and 2).

But the first and second motive directly contradict each other, no? If Eren wanted to do a complete rumbling and truly level the land, he wouldn't wish to be stopped. But according to the second motive, he always intended to be stopped. Not only that, he knew he'd be stopped at 80% because of the power of the Attack Titan.

So why bother doing the Rumbling at all even though it could never accomplish point 1? For his friends only then? But he didn't even know which one of his friends would survive, just that they'd stop him and end the titan curse.

Maybe everyone but Pieck could have died while trying to stop him, so his plan wouldn't fulfill point 1 nor point 2. He wouldn't get a full Rumbling to fulfill his dreams nor a happy ending for his friends.

To make sense of this, my theory is that Eren is stupid and just couldn't help himself despite the risks and impossibilities. He just had to do it.

Eren is an Idiot.

Eren has always been stupid. He tried things irrationally just because he wanted to be free and go outside the walls, believing that it would go well as he severely overestimasted himself, almost getting killed several times because of it.

He's a subversion of a shonen protagonist in a realistic world. The only reason he got so far is because so many people were covering his back and because he got the Attack Titan. This is a vital part of his character. He is average, childish, and prone to succumb to his feelings; and that's exactly what he did. Eren developed so much along the course of the series, and managed to keep control of his recklessness with rationality and discipline... but he never developed emotionally, and this was the result.

Even if he knew that the Rumbling would stop at 80%, it'd still partially fulfill his dream to see a levelled land and becoming free. At least for a moment, he'd be able to feel like he was accomplishing that goal of his and feeling free because of it.

He fought back against Armin because Eren wouldn't give up his freedom without a fight, and he wanted to know that he truly tried everything (aside from taking away his friends' freedom, which would make him a hypocrite in his eyes). Eren was a slave to freedom and was unable to give up on it unlike basically every other character in the series. (give up on your dream and die). He was the ultimate shonen protagonist, especially in his unyielding dream, and it backfired immensely. In no universe Eren was able to stop himself from doing the Rumbling, because it's what he wanted to do to get his freedom, even while knowing it'd fail. It isn't rational. He just couldn't help himself from doing his upmost to live freely, because he was born into the world and thus had a right to, in his eyes. Eren latched onto that childish idea, of never compromising, of being unable to give up on his desired outcome, and it ended up making him a mass murderer. He never grew up, and this was the result.

At the same time, though, he did want to give his friends the chance to stop him and become free themselves, which would also save them to boot. There was the risk that they died, but he couldn't help himself, and in the best case scenario, most of them would live.

Thus, no matter what, the Rumbling was the best way of fulfilling Eren's contradicting goals, not from a logical sense, but from an emotional one.

Rationalizations

In the end, Point 2 and 3 of his motivations are just rationalizations for going through a plan he knew would fail. Point 1 was the main reason he did it (even though, as I explained, it's not really the only reason, just that if he truly wanted to save his friends and Paradis this plan was one of the worse options), and the worst part is that he knew it wouldn't go his way and he did it anyways.

So yeah, he's smart, stupid, free, trapped, selfish, selfless, and that's the point? If so, I think it's a pretty interesting point to make. Eren never managed to mature enough out of being a child—he was denied agency again and again by the world, and unlike everyone else in the series, he couldn't accept that. He couldn't compromise, not on his dream, but not on his friends, either.

I think it's really clever writing to hide all these layers behind Eren, even though the confusing explanation did end up making a lot of people wrongly excuse his genocide "because he did it for his friends", even though he straight up admits he wasn't, he just thought he was.

In truth, he killed 80% of humanity because he wasn't mature enough to pinpoint his irrational motives founded in the trauma of living trapped in walls with the physical manifestation of being trapped embodied by the titans. (A systemic analysis of Eren coming in another post!)

I do admit that actually understanding that all of this was Isayama's intention though, if I even got it right, was completely convoluted and confusing and could've been written way more neatly; but I still love the ending, because it shows us that Eren is doing the most Eren thing imaginable through the Rumbling—showcasing his stupidity, rashness and average nature, which was always a huge part of his character that I'm glad wasn't forcefully taken out of him because of his "cooler" role in the last season.

If there's one thing I've always loved about Eren, is how human he is. How imperfect he is. And his actions are, without a doubt, the embodiment of what it means to be an irrational being with a brain that tries to rationalize everything—a being that would kill 80% of humanity for his dreams, while risking his friends' lives, while also deeply wishing to save them.

I guess that his character (and humanity) can be summed up by Mikasa quite well, don't you think? Because in the end, even if he's stupid, he's also kind. He's cruel...

DELTARUNE CHAPTER 3 AND 4 SPOILERS

Deltarune: First hero is the player and Kris is a mole theory

Ok so I haven’t seen a theory similar to this being discussed anywhere so I’m posting this to put in my two cents ig AKSVSKDGKDHD

When we see the first prophecy in Susie’s dark world something stood out to me about the description of the first hero:

Many people thought this made sense for Kris: considering Kris as “the cage” that holds the human soul. Although I kinda thought the opposite when I first read this. If we think of “the cage” as a more metaphorical thing instead, doesn’t the soul make much more sense as the first hero??

A cage prevents you from roaming free. Yeah, Kris holding the soul could count as Kris being “the cage” since we can’t roam as freely as we did when we were controlling the soul outside Kris’ body. But possessing Kris doesn’t inhibit the souls freedom; we can go anywhere, talk to anyone, CHOOSE to do anything. We’re anything but trapped. But Kris can’t choose to do anything freely unless they tear the soul out of their body. Doing anything to escape the cage, even if it breaks their wings (If that makes any sense AKSHSKDHKDHD). It just makes MUCH more sense that the soul, AKA the player, is what’s being inferred by “the cage”.

And also, ofc the player would have a human soul (The little heart that we control) and parts, cause yk everyone playing deltarune is human (probably…. Hopefully)

It also just makes more sense that the soul is the first hero??? I mean like if we FULLY separate the actions the soul takes by itself and the action Kris takes by themselves. The soul has done a lot more hero-y things by itself. Like in the sealing the fountain sequences; the soul practically separates itself from Kris for a second to seal the fountain, kinda inferring the soul is the only thing that can seal a fountain. Not to mention the fact the soul literally EMINATES light which weakens the titans and its weird little fetus’. Like just by the visuals of that whole ass sequence it’s clear the soul is the one emanating the light and not Kris, right ?? Like if the souls light is truly the MAIN thing weakening the darkness’ attacks, and sealing the fountains, then idk it’s just seems like the soul is truly the thing the prophecy is referencing as one of the “saviors” ig.

I guess in the end Kris IS technically the first hero, but mostly by proxy since they hold the soul, but them, separate from the player, are not the first hero.

That brings me to another speculation, (which may be a little obvious but, sshhhhh, I like explaining my thought process) that the soul we control isn’t Kris’ soul at all. It was meant to be for the vessel, a thing that didn’t have a whole ass life and personality before the soul took over. Which really makes me think, where the hell is Kris’ actual soul????

Well idk the answer to that, but I might know why they were given THIS soul. I believe they were given this soul to be a mole for the heroes of the prophecy. So that way they technically ARE meant to be there (only cause of the soul) but also kinda aren’t cause, yk, that soul isn’t theirs. Whoever Kris is working for, it’s pretty clear they’re very against the prophecy and the heroes going into (and sealing) the dark world in the shelter. So what’s a better plan than literally having someone on the inside tracking and preventing the heroes plans ???

This ofc makes the soul possessing Kris the only choice we DIDNT get to choose.

Ofc Kris can’t really do much about messing up the heroes plans when the soul is controlling them. But when it’s not, it’s pretty clear they’re going somewhere after becoming unpossessed, which in my opinion they’re going to the shelter and ratting on the heroes plans to whoever is the mastermind of this.

So yeah, bro’s living a double life as the hero of the prophecy (only cause they hold the soul) and as a prophecy hater for some reason.

Although it’s very clear Kris is really fond of Susie and Ralsei now, so I suspect their loyalty for whoever gave them this soul will become brittle.

Also I think Ralsei definitely knows that the soul is meant to be the hero and whoever is holding it isn’t. Although I don’t think he knows the soul the player controls isn’t Kris’ soul.

Or maybe he does since he talks to Kris while the soul is distracted with Susie. Idk

Low-key I don’t want to believe Ralsei is STILL keeping quiet about things even after the events of chapter 4 in which Susie literally digs at him for it AKHSKSHDKDHDK

Its attack on titan the last attack cinema day for me! I’m so excited! I made this yesterday so this is a scheduled post :b

I’ve included the Timelapse and some photos to show how you can replicate this yourself too! All my posters up til now have been made in primarily procreate mobile with only the last two days being also with ibis paint x and sometimes ditherable

How I made this poster!

1. Get an image or images manipulate them into how you want them, I normally edit in procreate using colours and bloom but today I used ibispaintx I clicked filter then glow outer and changed the colour

2. Then I went to an app called ditherable, there you upload the image you just made and decide which design you like in the end, the app is really easy to use! Perfect for creating different effects

3. This is my procreate Timelapse for the poster, as you can see the red image just appears and that’s as I made it in ibispaintx and ditherable and then reloaded it back onto my canvas

I’m really bad at explaining things and have never shown how to do things like this to anyone so i apologise if it’s not explained enough, if you have any questions I can answer to the best I can! There are many other things and ways I’ve made the posters but if you want to make something like this one, this is how I do it :)

Sizzy Headcanons: Married with Children

A/N: I saw someone be disappointed about the lack of Sizzy content and as its the best TMI ship (as I explained in my Unpopular opinion ship post), I cannot help but agree so I am hereby writing some headcanons for them!

-Are the go-to couple to babysit Max and Rafe when Maryse is not available as Magnus trusts Simon more then Jace with the kids. -Their wedding was more grande then Alec and Magnus' because they had a far longer time to plan. -Catlovers for life. They grew up with their cats (I'm counting Church okay?) and so will their own children. -I think they will have about 3 children like the average Lightwood. -Simon bought his own fancy place not too far away from the Institute and handles most of the paper stuff regarding their home. Having grown up as a mundane, he doesn't needs to be as secretive as the average Shadowhunter and basically continued using his mundane ID and driver's license. -They keep things as much of a secret around Simon's mother, but Becky knows most of the stuff that's going on around the place. She's a dotting aunt towards their children and visits them often. -Because of that, Isabelle decided Becky might as well become a permanent member of the Shadow World and actually hooked Becky up with a werewolf. -Jace loves telling embarrassing stories about Simon to the children, like the time he got drunk on spiked blood. Simon as revenge, started telling his own children cringe stuff about Jace and rubs it in Jace's face every time he beats him at video games when the kids are present. -Isabelle is a wonderful mother to her children and definitely a protective momma bear. -Simon, as a recruiter for the Shadowhunter Academy In Exile, often pops by on Luke's farm once his children decide to attend. A lot of the students look up to him and some can be a little jealous of the Lightwood Lovelace children. -Isabelle and Simon are very supportive parents who are there for their kids throughout every stupid mistake they make. Simon knows exactly when to crack a dumb joke that will cheer up the children and Isabelle falls in love with him even more every time he does it. -Their kids know as much about geek culture as a mundane nerd would. These kids grew up watching Star Wars and hearing Simon roast whatever Disney puts out relating to the IP. -Speaking of that, any joint event with the Herondale-Fairchild kids likely involves watching some adventure shonen anime like Attack On Titan together. -At least one of Simon and Izzy's kids have embarrassed themselves when they were young by doing the Naruto run. -They celebrate their wedding anniversaries by going on a cute picnic. It reminds them of their first succesful date when Simon went to the Shadowhunter Academy. Simon never lets Izzy prepare the food though, he does it himself. -Being married to Isabelle, Simon actually learnt how to cook because her cooking skills are a biohazard. -Whilst he'd never let Isabelle alone in the kitchen, he actually doesn't minds her helping him out with cooking. At least once, they ended up having a food fight.

Mental Hospital AU! Yandere! Attack on Titan x Female Reader

Chapter 3- Meeting Levi

“I have to warn you Y/N.. this next patient you have is the most dangerous patient we’ve encountered in the last decade.. I started working here five years ago after an incident.. and even I still find it hard to look at him..” Erwin stated.

“What’s his name?” Y/N asked curiously.

”Levi. He’s murdered multiple doctors and nurses no matter how many chains we put on him. He’s got a lock on his door that only i have access to.” Erwin explained.

”I see.. Sasha told me about him, at least I think” Y/N muttered nervously.

The walk to the room was quiet after that. Watching Erwin, Y/N saw that he typed in a 19 letter passcode, did an eye retina and fingerprint scan just to get in.

”From now on I’ll be accompanying you to Levi and if necessary, other patients.” Erwin said.

Y/N simply nodded before entering along with Erwin. The room was small and only had a bed and desk. The desk for some reason was in the middle of the room and there sat Levi.

He was handcuffed to the desk and looked up at the two entering the room only to glare.

”Get out. I’m not going to let you drug me Eyebrows-“ Levi begin to say before getting interrupted by Erwin.

”I’m not drugging you Levi. You should know I would never unless necessary. Y/N, you may sit I’ll just stand up for now..” Erwin said, allowing Y/N to sit at the chair opposite Levi. 

Y/N sat down, thankful for the somewhat useful table between them. She looked up at him and smiled at his deadly glare.

”Hello Levi, I’m Y/N L/N. I’ll be your permanent doctor and since it’s our first appointment together I’d like to get to know you. It could be anything, family, friends or hobbies.” Y/N said with a warm smile.

”Get out. Now.” He grumbled looking back down at his feet annoyed.

Y/N began to rest her chin on her hand and smirked. This was probably the worst patient she’ll have judging by his aggressive behaviour so she’ll have to be careful around him so he doesn’t hurt or even kill her.

“You can’t even tell me a bit about yourself?” She looked straight at him as he soon looked back up at her. He took in her details, she wasn’t like the other doctors or nurses. She genuinely wanted to talk to him.

”I hate filth.” He said and looked at Erwin before raising his hands and pointing his fingers at him. “And Eyebrows. No wonder you can’t pull any girls, you got them big ass eyes brows-“ 

“That’s enough, Y/N it’s break for all Doctors and Nurses so we better get going.” He interrupted quickly, going beside Y/N’s chair and helping her up like a nice gentleman.

Letting go of Erwin’s hand, Y/N looked back at Levi and smiled warmly.

”It was nice seeing you Levi, I hope you and I can get along. I’ll see you later then.”

As soon as the door shut, Levi looked back up. He felt a smile curve at the end of his lips. What was this feeling.? Maybe this person wasn’t that bad.. no. That was his insomnia messing his head up.. or not? She just had to be cleansed after he had touched the demons filthy hands, he wouldn’t mind doing it himself. It was for his darling.
