soooo the instrumental edit during the chorus is from here on youtube i just didn't want any editing on their voices or the verses so here is the edited instrumental with the verses and the vocals as they are in the original minus that sound effect i removed. so only the chorus is changed. just made this for myself to listen to and watch but in case anyone's also like well shatter could be a banger if they just leaned into metal/rock for that chorus.. there you go. google drive link cause there's also an mp3 in there

Guitar (so long as they have a pick to strum the strings with) and drums-#-and piano and other string instruments#wind instruments and brass however they probably can't because you need to blow air into them and haha they can't control air#but yeah! basically if this guy learns enough instruments they can form a 'ghost' orchestra/band#they can literally be the conductor and wave their hand around and let the instruments play music#except it would be very difficult and almost impossible because they have to think about what every single instrument is playing#all of the notes one by one and keeping in time/beat#but they could pull it off#it's something I want to write them doing one day

Luke raising Jonathan au is so galaxy brained omg. you're so right Luke would be the ideal person to raise him because he would do his best to fight his own biases and avoid treat him like a lost cause or broken. also the fact they both got turned into monsters by Valentine... the potential is crazy (now I can't stop thinking about this)
exactly!! and not only do we have their own similarities, as monsters and outcasts.. but also valentine's real son being raised by his own ex-parabatai being a mirror to his pseudo-son being raised by his psuedo-ex-parabatai? and then there's also some vague parallels with ash's storyline (even if we never get ash himself in this universe) with jonathan being under the protection and guardianship of his cruel father's brother figure. and idk something about valentine's kids being split up between his runaway wife and his scorned parabatai.. it just sits so nicely in my head.
#the question of course would be where this au would diverge from canon#and i have to think it would be after jocelyn runs away with clary but not long after#maybe some residual parabatai senses get luke doubting valentine's death#maybe when he's found the house valentine lives in with jonathan he sees that it's basically abandoned except for this young child#bc val was with jace at that point in time#and luke thinks. this kid may look like a monster. but he's also jocelyn's kid#and he doesn't deserve to be a victim to valentine the way luke himself was#and he takes the child#for jocelyn. for the man he once thought valentine to be. for himself.#gah! i literally fell asleep thinking about this and will probably be thinking about it all day#but alas i must go to work now T-T#luke graymark#jonathan fairchild#tsc#the shadowhunter chronicles#tmi#the mortal instruments#asks#isabella 🦊

Music in Hallownest is everything
Aghhh I couldn’t wait to share these doodles, look at the bugs playing instruments!!! Again!!! I absolutely adore to draw them playing an instrument, plus it helps me improve on drawing stupid hands lol
Ok so we have PK playing a pipe organ (that is stored in a big ass room cuz that organ is big asf), Cloth playing the ukelele and Tiso playing drums, Quirrel playing the flute, PV playing the piano and Dryya playing the cello!
While I was daydreaming I thought of Hornet admiring Dryya’s ability with the Cello and her asking her mother to buy a Cello for her. Herrah probably agreed but didn’t let her play cuz the Cello is a big instrument, but she did let Dryya teach hornet how to play the Cello. I should probably save that with the many notes I have about hk lol-

#sunny and hot outside today#rather quiet except for the birdsong#i know it’s august but it feels like summer#just woke up from a sleep paralysis nap lmao#dreamt i was too high to move#but people/ my phone kept informing me i was failing all my classes again 😂😂#and i was so guilty cuz i’d spent all my time drinking and smoking instead of studying#not what happened irl btw#i actually still tried when i was at uoft i was simply too unwell for the workload 😂 brain getting confused#imma shower wash the dishes get lunch then practice bass#the audio interface i ordered is awesomesauce but i’m completely broke the rest of this month 🥲#also bass is really difficult#i guess starting anything is#picking it up is supposed to be easy compared to other instruments but i only have piano to compare to#and i’ve been playing piano since i was four#mostly i’m just frustrated i’m not good at it right away#like usual#told my mates id actually learn to play over the break so i gotta lock in#still absolutely shite#band never gonna happen at this point#new school term starting soon i can’t wait to have a proper schedule to follow again#and i wanna hang out with my friends#idk what to do about The Issue but i suppose there’s no issue#life shall proceed and we’re still friends#who give a shit#feelings are internal and incorporeal and can stay that way how tf they gonna screw anything up unless u let them#think things r gonna be ok#smiley face emoji

The amazing devil would be so good if they were good
#im sorry but their songs take WAY to long to do what they want to do with them#like. the calling is the best example of this. theres a really good 3 minute song inside that 6 minute one#i love a long song but they just keep repeating the same stuff over and over again until BAM sudden build#its soooooooo repetitive and it just never ends.#like ok. generously theres 5 verses that r exactly the same except for volume + like one other instrument added#4 verses of 'shoulder the sky' that are all exactly the same words included again except for volume and a few instrumentation changes#and then 1 verse that barely does its own thing#please god.#anyways.#i know everyone likes them bc theyre good on character playlists and joey batey or whatever his name is in it#but im tired of having to skip the calling every time i find a playlist#was gonna turn rb off but i dont actually care#LIKE their voices are good and their instrumentation is pretty good please they just need an editor. someone else to structure the songs#bel speaks

I am very fortunate in that I live in a pretty diverse community, come from a pretty diverse community, and my job has a pretty diverse clientele. And one of the delights of my job is getting to talk to kids who are translating for their parents and getting the opportunity to treat them like a peer . Like yeah I know you’re calling with your mom’s credit card to update your payment method for her, but as far as I’m concerned, this is your instrument anyway, so it’s your account. I don’t care that you’re in fifth grade. I’m gonna treat you like a grown up.

I have GOT to get better at Instruments so that I can jam with my fingerstyle guitar grandpa and my banjo grandma before they’re too old!!!!!!!!!!!!! FUCK!!!!! what do I do! I’m learning harmonica. Uhhhh I’m learning…. I’m learning….. to shred the tambourine. This thought just woke me up in a COLD sweat from my slumber ok I must pay attention to it
#I actually have a lot of random instruments lying around that I need to learn#NONE of which fit this banjo-y vibe#they’re all like random family instruments from some relative that idk so some of them are old and crusty#glockenspiel… trumpet… VIOLIN#stop.
