Oh yeah definitely!! I think Jim's love language is still acts of service, but he would eventually say 'I love you' to Claire. Just in private when it's just them two, or accidentally blurting it out at the most inopportune moment.

Strickler I'd imagine is very similar. He's going to only say 'I love you' to Barbara in a intense emotional state or in private.

Regarding your second question, I TOTALLY see Jim joking about the rather short time in the long scheme of things he and Strickler were 'enemies' he does it in Canon after all with Nomura! And Strickler jokes about it too! And I'm sure Jim AND Strickler joke about it with one another too!

I don't think Claire would joke about what Morgana did to her though. It was a serious transgression over her body, her free will, her soul. That's something that would leave her with terrible trauma and PTSD. She and Jim do however talk about how Morgana and Merlin screwed them over through mental head games.

Well for this I'll just pick the first five that instantly come to mind: Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Pikmin 1, Hylics 1 & 2, and Okami

Dark Souls will definitely be on this list too. Only a little over halfway through and it's already one of the best games I've ever played 🔥🖤

Katamari Damacy, no question. That game still has my absolute favorite synergy with music/gameplay of any game I've played, though I will say both it's sequel We Love Katamari and Undertale come the closest to reaching that level to me. Personally out of the three Damacy's got greater amount of my favorite songs though <3

14) Worst game you’ve ever played?

That's a really great question! I'll admit I've been pretty lucky when it came to avoiding godawful shovelware trash games as a kid, and any ones I willing play now via emulation don't count for me since I'm willing subjecting myself to them. For me a REAL worst game is one you play expecting a good time, only to be let down horribly

The winner in that regard is definitely the Finding Nemo tie-in game. I was a huge fan of the film when it came out, so I rented the game for a whole week expecting an experience that made me feel like a small fish in the open ocean, only to instead get an endless slog of the most boring gameplay ever designed. Literally just "pick up this object and place it over there" for the first several levels. It was so mind-numbing I just gave up and let the game disc waste away on my shelf before I could return it for another game.

A close runner-up though would be the time I actually tried to play the NES Ghosts n' Goblins on actual hardware at my cousin's house several years back. I'm no stranger to hard NES games, hell I even beat Castlevania 1 on the same NES I used to play this one, but fuck does Gn'G have some of the most needlessly bullshit design I've ever seen in a game of that era! I couldn't get past Level 3, but unlike w/ other hard games I didn't feel compelled to continue further. It's not hard because it's an 80's game, it's hard because the devs who ported it thought fast, awkward enemy patterns and cryptic item placement makes a game "good" -_-

20) A game that made you cry.

I remember one of the final cutscenes during the final boss of Okami made me cry. Spoilers below!

It's not that it was a "sad" scene per say, but after such a long journey meeting and helping out these characters I really grew to care for, seeing them all pray for Amaterasu to regain her full strength and defeat Yami, and then the music that started playing afterward... once that track started I just lost it. Tears were streaming down my eyes, and even with that I still had the determination to win the battle! It was the final push to make this game fall into one of my favorite pieces of art I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing :')

Thanks for the ask! Sorry I took awhile, I've been a bit under the weather :P

Sans is pretty apprehensive of Dust at first, (considering he knocked him tf out and locked him up in the basement with no way to teleport his way out💀) but when he checks Dust and sees just how much LV he has he becomes wary of his intentions, and even more concerned when he realizes that he plans to essentially steal his life.

He doesn't know what Dust did, but can infer by Dust’s general behavior that on some level it must have been out of desperation. But hes also a bit biased because he really wants to believe that... (He doesn’t want to accept the fact that he ended up like Dust in another life)

He initially gives Dust the benefit of the doubt, He willingly talks to him about his life on the surface at first, about his partner, about his friends and family, while still trying to persuade him that they can figure this out together.

But Dust is adamant that stealing his life is the only way. That he wouldn’t be accepted by other monsters if they knew what he had… gone through.

(Sans trusting Dust enough to tell him about his life on the surface unfortunately only cements Dust’s plan, Sans’ efforts to convince Dust he could have a happy life now only made Dust envious of the life he could have had. The life he distantly thinks he deserves atleast a little taste of, despite all the sins he’s committed.)

So despite sans’ efforts, he’s left to rot in the basement.

Obviously, being left to rot and having your life stolen would put a sour taste in anyone’s mouth, so sans eventually starts to hate Dust.

I ended up making a comic laying out their strained relationship since you made me think about the complexity of their dynamic a bit more.

Dust relies on Sans and he hates it. He could kill him sure, but then what? That question of "what if" lingers in the back of his mind. What if you find him out? What if he slips up somewhere and can't cover up his mistake in time? He wasn't looking for permanence with you initially... was just jealous, wanted a taste of the life he could have had… but now he's gotten attached to you. He's afraid of losing this. Losing you. And they both know that fear will be his downfall.

Sans' side of this is a bit complicated however. He doesn't want to admit it to himself but he's upset you haven't noticed him missing. Dust tends to taunt him about that, as it's really the only leverage he has... but it slowly begins to eat at him over time. He doesn't blame you really, since Dust has proved to be a pretty good impersonator. But either way, the fact that you aren't noticing any difference between him and Dust will put a strain on him. And depending on what ending, a strain on your relationship entirely.

Sans also becomes increasingly desperate, having his own distant thoughts of overpowering or even killing Dust and escaping. But refrains from doing so, afraid of ending up just like Dust in the end.

Probably this Echo x Reader fic that I really enjoyed writing, and I was so excited about it! Smut with a lil angst sprinkled over for seasoning, and it just flew way under the radar. I think everyone was in their feels for Tech at the time, so it actually makes perfect sense 😅

The characters without a doubt. Seeing how they change and grow as the story progresses. Lowkey wish I cared more about technical stuff though because I have made some choices that I know are technically wrong, and would never fly if I was getting paid for this 🤣

I’ve always had an active imagination and a tendency to get all torn up inside about things in my life that affect me but I have no control over. So I write to let my imagination run wild, and to feel some control. And I’m always my happiest, healthiest self when I’m writing and creating (and engaging with other people’s creations), so it helps keep me going 🥰

No! It would be super interesting, but this does not seem to be possible for frogs. The remodelling of the skeleton is very extensive during metamorphosis in frogs, and copulation in frogs almost always heavily involves the use of limbs, so the jump you would have to make in order to make this work is probably just too much for evolution to have managed it (though I would be thrilled to be wrong).

Wait, what’s going on with Embers???? That fic has been on my read later list since 2021, what’s happened with it???

Brief overview, then I'm likely never touching this topic again, because this is not a Drama Blog:

Context: Embers is a super old AtLA fic that was written during the early fandom days, read widely at the time, and was the origin of the widely-used fanon name of "Wani" for Zuko's ship (kind of by default that it was one of the first popular fics to give his ship a name, I think?), even though most fic writers don't seem to realize it's from there anymore.

"What's Going On": I used to include a link in all my stories to it, because I believe in crediting other writers for borrowed elements, and I was using "Wani" in all my fics. But BOY did I not want to be sending readers that way anymore, so I've adopted a new name for Zuko's ship, and removed all Embers links.

None of the criticisms about Embers itself are new; I'm assuming they date back to when the fic was being written, because this isn't an "it aged badly" thing, this is an "actually yeah this gets worse the longer you think about it and I shouldn't have ignored my bad feelings just because some of the worldbuilding was interesting" thing.

An Incomplete List of Why I Made the Change:

I don't actually like the story that much anymore, and don't want to rec it

I tried to re-read it recently to see if some things were as bad as I remembered and it turns out they were So Much Worse Oh Yikes. More specifically, the treatment of Katara and Aang and their respective cultures has... rather a lot going on. One example: The Fire Nation and Air Nomads are both given multiple backstory elements in an attempt to make the average Fire Nation soldier's participation in the genocide/war in large part the fault of the Avatar and the Air Nomads themselves, and also fully justified from the Fire Nation perspective. And I do mean fully. One of its core tenants is "People from the Fire Nation (and only people from the Fire Nation) who don't follow orders Literally Die, therefore murdering pacifists and babies and continuing the war (and their regularly scheduled war crimes) is the only thing it is physically possible for them to do". I cannot emphasize enough how literal that is.

Also the name "Wani" means "Alligator" and is... objectively a pretty lame name for Zuko's ship? Where's the personality, where's the deeper meaning, where's the resonance with Zuko's themes? @tuktukpodfics initially thought I was calling the ship "Wanyi", and that's what I've switched to, because it is Objectively So Much Better. In their words: “Wànyī (萬一): Literally ‘one in ten thousand,’ ‘perchance.’ Used grammatically in Chinese to mean ‘what if’ or ‘just in case.’ I think a ship called ‘The Perchance’ is perfect for a boy clinging to false hope.”

TL:DR; I don't rec Embers anymore, because I don't actually like the story anymore, and there are things about it that get worse the more I think on them. I've removed links to it and renamed Zuko's ship to "Wanyi" ("The Perchance") because our boy deserves a ship name that reflects his character arc.
