Starting the exam phase... Art was a pain to prepare as it always is, and tomorrow I´m doing the preperation I missed being sick. It´s gonna be difficult because I´m not sure if I´ll have the time I need but fuck it. I still need to study eco to like perfectly know the things. And revise for German and I´m not even thinking about Physics. Well I´m thinking too much about everything - my brain needs to just shut up and study.

Current favorite cherik fics - pt5
part 1 | part 2 | part 3 | part 4 | part 6 | part 7 | part 8 | part 9
We are still going strong, cherik nation! enjoy <3
highly educated (just not in the subject you'd like to talk about) by monae_the_criminal
It’s easy to feel dumb when you’re dating an Oxford graduate. Especially if your education ended as early as Erik’s, whose problems as a child were closer to “will I survive another day” than "there's too much homework". He was doing an amazing job at hiding it. No one suspected that he was just so much behind the rest of them. But then Charles told them about his idea: a school for young mutants, and it brought back all Erik’s issues and insecurities related to the fact that he never had the chance other children did. Nobody can know; they’d look down at him, it would divest him of his dignity. So he tried to hide. Unfortunately for him, his boyfriend is a telepath, and his attempts to push him away won’t work.
Anatomy studies by T0mStr1d3r
Charles had a final anatomy colloquium to prepare for and Erik entered the room at the best moment possible. or How preperation for exams leads to the best massage of your life.

Brian Xavier experiments on his only son, believing it will make him powerful. Years later, Charles Xavier still suffers from the aftereffects.
On Hearts and the Finding of Lost Treasures (The Tombs and the Raiding Thereof Remix) by luninosity
The first time he met Charles Xavier, Erik Lehnsherr was—reluctantly, angrily, and decidedly against his will—impressed. This may’ve had something to do with the fact that Charles had just given him a sunny smile and somersaulted a foot over his head.

Self / Independent Learner's Guide to Language Learning From Zero
-a mini study plan I used this for Spanish, French and Italian, it is my favourite way of starting to learn. It won't teach you the langauge but if this is your first time, if you feel confused and don't know where to begin, this is for you! -this is kinda romance langauge based but might give you ideas if you are learning from a different family too -this is very notebook / writing based since i prefer learning that way Step 1: Preperation
First of all, ask yourself "do i already have some amount of immersion in this langauge?" As humans, we learn from immersion a lot. Songs, but especially visual media is incredibly heplful. I never studied japanese but after watching a few animes i picked up 5-10 random words. Passive vocabulary, being familiar to most common words will be your biggest friend. If the answer is no, before start studying ANYTHING do some immersion. e.g. I watched dix pour cent for French and learned arrêt which means stop because characters were shouting to each other all the time.
After making sure you have some immersion or if you already have some, PREPARE YOUR RESOURCES. Make a file in your computer, reblog tumblr posts, save links. Search for pdfs in google. (x language a1 pdf / x langauge a1 grammar book / x language a1 reading) Free PDF's and and useful websites. The more the merrier. Why? Because when you actually start learning you will slowly realise them half of them are not actually useful, too advance, too simple, not in your preffered style etc. You will en up using same handful amount of resources again and again but before that, you have to TRY EVERYTHING. You are unique and so will be your learning process.
Google x language A1 curriculum. (you can try adding "pdf" at the end of sentence as well) It "probably/ hopefully" exists. If you can't find that way, learn which offical exam is necessary (e.g. for French it's DELF/DALF, in english there is IELTS and so many more) If you are lucky, you can find a langauge teaching enstitute's curriculum and you can find in what order they teach things. This was very helpful for me because sometimes you don't know what to study next, or just want to visualise what do you need to learn, it is helpful. I printed one out and paste it to the back cover of my notebook. You won't need this one YET. I'll explain in a second. Keep reading.
Get a notebook. I don't prefer books while learning from zero because it will be filled with vocabulary you don't know. My pereference is no squares no lines empty ass notebook and colorful pens. I'm a person of shitty doodles. I love to draw and visualise things. It really helps my brain. In A1, your knowledge is absouletly zero and your brain is about the explode with realising GREAT MASS of knowledge you need to learn in order to be "fluent" . So keep things away from being "too much" if you want to avoid a burnout.
Set a timer. If you want to avoid burnout, the secret is always quit when you feel like you can go another round happily. Quit when you are dopamine high. If you study too much, next day you'll wake up tired, want to rest etc. and make it harder for you to create a habit. I did this mistake with French by studying 4-5 hours everyday for around 30 days. I completed my challenge, completly quit and then didn't come back for MONTHS.
You will be re-studying A LOT. Language learning is repetition. You will start by studying "the A1 curriculum". But, because this is your first time your focus will be on the vocabulary and general comprehension. You are trying to re-wire your brain, and learn a different way of thinking and living. It's not easy. It will take time. It will be painful at times. But it is 100% worth it.
After you finished studying your curriculum, you'll take a short break and then study the curriculum AGAIN. For a second time. Because you already know the basics, this time you will be able to focus more on the little things you weren't able to comprehend the last time. e.g. articles or whatever little frustaring thing your langauge has. Also focus more on basic prononciation and especially reading aloud. Find a realistic text-to-reader. Copy-paste a text. Listen and repeat.
Get a new Youtube and Instagram account dedicated to langauge study. How many good resources exists and where they are is really depens on which langauge you are learning. For english, youtube is better. For French, instagram is better. You have to see for yourself. If you get a seperate account for your langauge algorith will learn faster and you won't be distracted by other stuff. Short form engaging videos are the best for absolute beginners. Re-watch things and try to repeat them out loud. It's called shadowing and is your future best friend.
If you want to learn how to speak, you first need to how to write. If you can't write sentences without looking at google translate (or reverso) you won't be able to make up sentences in your head. If you want to learn how to write, your first need to learn how to read. You need to start in this order but also don't be perfectionist. Do it even if you do it wrong. They will be fixed eventually and won't stick. Record yourself speaking even if the text you are reading is 90% google translated. Why? Beacuse speaking will enhance your vocabulary in a way no other thing can and that's the core of reading. So this isn't a linear thing. It's actually a circle!
Step Two! Ok, Sadie, i got my notebooks and read through all the warnings where do i start? *First page: [] means written is target langauge
[x notebook] x= your target langauge
Add something cute and make you feel happy to open up the notebook. It can a drawing, a picture, anything. First page is your entrance to your new home. Make it welcoming.
*[My name is X. I am Y years old. I live in Z.] *Greetings. Main articles if there are any. Yes, no, please, thank you. *What is your name, what do you do for living, how are you, where are you from, how old are you, how many langauges do you speak, numbers from 0-100. If there are multiple way of saying these things and probably there are, just write one. You will eventually learn others. Baby steps. *write a basic ass text of two people having a conversation asking and answering these questions.
*the alphabet and how to pronounce the letters. basic letter combinations that change into a different sound. a youtube video about this 100% exists.
*personal pronouns and if there is a "am/is/are" verb the conjugation of it. (in spanish there is two unfortunately) *artciles and basic noun endings. a couple exemples of nouns in x form but takes y article. *first 5 most common verbs. learn the conjugation, try writing basic ass sentences. (e.g. to come, go, have, speak)
*three more verbs (e.g. to eat, can, to want)
*take some time to fully comprehend. check your curriculum list to look and see if you want to add anything. e.g.for spanish that can be ser vs estar, for spanish is can be "how to ask questions in french" becaue it's way harder compared to other langauges.
*take some break from grammar and learn some vocab maybe. it can be colors, or feelings. (i am sad, i am hungry etc.)
*start studying most common verbs. usually a form of categorization exists. usually it's verb ending. (unless it's a language like turkish where every verb either ends with -mek or -mak lol.) Start with 10- 15 most common verbs. You will also be learning some vocabulary by default. (try to stick to regular verbs if you can, if not that's fine) (Do not learn any verbs you won't be able to use immediately.)
*Learn basic adjectives and how they work so you can form more detailed sentences.
*After comprehending how to form basic positive negative sentences and some verbs, congratulate yourself, because you deserve it! *Learn how tell time. "What time is it? It's x'o clock."
*learn clothing and how to simply describe physical look e.g. hair color, eye color, beard, glasses...
*learn the verbs of daily routine. be able to write a generic ass "i wake up, i do breakfast, i eat lunch at school, i sleep" sort of text.
*demonstratives. this that. these. those. you can add some vocabulary you like. this is a cat. this is a tree. you can add placement adjectives now or later. (the cat is under the sofa. the bird is on the table etc.)
*Now you know a lot of things! Take some time and focus a bit more on the vocab, let your brain process things, do some passive immersion. avoid a burnout at all costs. *learn how to say "there is" (if you want more vocab transportation and city centre themes can be included.) *learn how to talk about your hobbies. This is the generic A1 curriuculum. You are able to understand basic things, you have a generic comprehension. That's all it takes to be considered A1. If you want to pass it though, what you need is a good grammar source. For French and Spanish Kwiziq was very useful. I couldn't find a good online grammar resource for Italian yet. (please ask more experienced langblrs for recs.) Slowly learn more vocab (since A1 is more vocab based. If you hate Anki and Quizlet stuff check Linguno. Actually check Linguno anyway it's a banger and i'm gonna die on that hill.)
If you don't have have native friend to ask questiones and you don't have any ethical concerns ChatGPT can be useful. I'm using it for French for months. Why are we using this particle here, why this and not that, can you give me some example sentences.... you can play guess the animal, ask for writing prompts and then make ChatGpt find and explain your mistakes to you. It's very handy.
*Don't be scared to share about your journey on Tumblr and most importantly ENJOY!

Saw your thing about mha rewrites, thought i'd throw my hat in the ring. I've had a fic in mind for a while now that involved keeping midoriya quirkless, but instead of him just waiting for a quirk to happen, he'd actually been taking martial arts classes and such in preperation ( something that i find baffling that it didnt happen in canon) where the main issue for Izuku is pushing himself to far to prove a point. but in this, he distances from bakugou, the martial arts training giving him a better sense of self-esteem or atleast a better sense of where his energy is best spent. I plan to try to focus more on the ORIGINAL trio, uraraka, Izuku, and Iida....and i wanna give uraraka OFA bc i think playing around with what improved gravity manipulation could do. i think she'd get it after the torunament arc. Given how smart Midoriya was shown to be early on, I figure he'd make a lot of use of gadgets. infrared goggles, bo staff, head gear for better threat detection, and other possible improvements that he figures out throughout the year. All Might in this basically supports Midoriya's dream by providing the funding for the needed suit and gear. and instead of HIM having the iron man suit with everyones quriks somehow....lets give that to Midoriya, to represent his entier class pushing him forward as a symbol of hope for anyone who thinks they cant be a hero just bc their quirk sucks, or bc they dont have one. Nedzu is the traitor instead of aoyama, bc hes playing a game of 5d chess with AFO and knows once allmight loses his power, everythings going to go to shit, so he engineers events to happen at school with the lov to force the students to where they will have to be to survive the dark times to come. ie, doing a horrible thing, but he believes he has a solid reason for doing so. Bakugou loses to uraraka in the tournament. seeing midoriya so sucsessful without a quirk has made him impatient and desperate to prove himself so he goes at uraraka full boar. now, im not going to make this an insta win, that just dosent feel right, BUT this loss will be the second in a series of losses for bakugou to start going ' what am I doing wrong?' one of the other losses being that Midoriya completes the test with him and bakugou fighting allmight, but with Bakugou unconcious bc like in canon, dude flew off the handle and tried to solo the worlds strongest hero, while Midoriya was more tacticle in his approach. subsequently....bakugou dosent get kidnapped by the Lov, Midoriya does bc they think ' hey this kid is quirkless we can get him to turn' and its bakugou that fails to save Midoriya bc the students that failed their exam were all asleep during the time of the attack of the training camp. he wakes up and comes up short of saving the day, bc he blew his chance of victory. but heres the problem. i have the first couple chapters hammered out...but this is all a lot, and theres so much more that i know is either going to need to be covered. like the hero comercialization, the hero system relying solely on allmight to keep things in check, the lack of proper aid to those with quirks that would require some extra guidance etc. I have the idea....but the idea of writting all of it feels daunting to say the least XD if youd like i could also ramble more on other points i have in mind for this fic idea
Ngl, this sounds really good. OFA!Uraraka isn't something I see often, it's nice to see her get some love. Izuku working hard to become a hero on his own merit is always nice to see, and we love supportive All Might. I'm a firm believer that if Izuku had asked at any other time All Might would have given him a different answer. Izuku just happened to catch him when he was in a place of self-loathing and immeasurable chronic pain.
No, it doesn't excuse his actions. But it's realistic. He also tried to suggest that Izuku seek out a similar dream, like becoming a cop so it wasn't like he said what he did out of malice.
Also, don't be afraid to completely rewrite Horikoshi's terrible canon system! It's filled with a ton of contradictions and inconsistencies anyway so if you need to change it all to make sense, 100% go for it

Here are some pictures of my meals recently🥗 I’ve been busy with my presentation and my TOEIC exam preparation 🤐️ Feel like I’m always busy with exams but never have time for something that I actually want to do. 24 hours a day is too short for a student. Food is probably the only thing that makes me feel less stressed.
Homemade Korean Jiajangmyeon with cucumbers and slices of pork on top🥒

A schedule for my TOEIC exam preperation (but it’s in Mandarin
Craving for salad, so I went and got some🥗

📌 Study Goals
My midterm exmas (that count for my graduation grade) are in the end of January, so I would mainly like to stay/ start being consistent in my study routine. I struggle with either not doing any work or all at once. So I would like to develop an after-school-routine that works for me, is productive and will prepare me for exams.
Ideally, I would like to include:
homework/ assignments + preperation for tmr
flashcard revision
quick workout/ stretching or practice
exam studies
sketchbook art time
youtube/ media break
I don´t know if that´s possible, but it will not stop me from trying :)

I deleted my previous post about High Voltage because I want to repost in the form of a preper post.
So since I'm now taking a break from Monogatari (due to exam prep), I would also like to announce some fanfic projects that are now in production:
The Six Big Heroes of Bonesborough: the TOH au story. It's basically the original Big Hero 6 film but set on the Boiling Isles.
High Voltage: My Mom and I : A story told from the eyes of Juniper about her, her relationship with Barb, and how their bond changes as they moved to San Fransokyo to become crime dancers.
That's about it!

there's this boy
nothing really necessarily specifically special
he was kind to me, is kind to me
ever since I first came to this large, unfamiliar new school
and I assume that's when it started
it was a few minutes before computer exam started and he was sitting next to me during exam preperation
he looked over and asked if I knew what to study for
I didn't but while I made it clear, I was quiet about it
he helped me, pointing out things we were supposed to focus on
I got one of the highest marks in class
and I guess everything else came after that
I wonder if anyone has realized how soothing his voice is
I made it known to him yesterday, how I found his voice to be like a lullaby, like if the early hours of the night were to sound as we humans do
he thanked me and said how no one's ever told him that about him before
And my heart twists for him
this kind, gentle man who's made of the same words of books that my eyes struggle to pry away from
this soft-spoken, quiet man who's voice made my ears perk up to listen even if he were talking to another girl
this level-headed, shy man who I found out is one of the youngest in his large family and loves romance books and struggles to be heard
he told me that he's tried to talk to me before but he never really knew what to say
he and I both
he told me he's never flopped so bad during a debate before
that he was shaking so whenever he spoke
I asked him details of his previous debate, just to get to know him better
but he doesn't seem to recall
Jokingly, I asked what he did recall
"you," he answered simply, me being intimidating during debate
me as the first speaker
me as the person who stood up to counter the other side's points the most
me who was able to make up my own arguments without needing to read off the script
me who's last argument was the reason the other side accept defeat before the debate ended
and we avoided his answer after that
I've never really wrote poetry for another before
usually it's just for myself
I would die before I share this with him, though
because sharing this with him means admitting that
hey, I've been thinking of you
I arranged these words in the most beautiful way I knew how to
just so whoever reading this would see you the way I see you
and I feel so embarrassed
he must think I'm so silly
he must think I'm so weird and doubt if befriending me was the right idea at all
and yet here I am
falling for this man anyways
he will never know
I think it would be much better that way
it'll be much easier to part for him when his thoughts of me will be just a silly girl he befriended
and not the fool who'd willingly stopped swimming just to drown and call it love

Math Exam: Diary entry 1
Dear Diary,
The math exam went pretty well today! although i heard the other math courses had topics that were not written on the preperation check-list, and i felt really bad for them.
the rest of the day was really boring because i spent all of my energy on the exam. But while walking home during lunch break i realized i could barely remember anything i did this month, so i decided to use this account as my own Blog with diary entries, comments, recipies, whatever, in order to document more of my life. Also i realized my english has gotten pretty bad this year.. So this would be a good opporitunity to practice writing quicker :()
also my boyfriend has access to this account so maybe you will see some shitposts from that cutie, however i doubt he will actually post anything.
I did not do much outside of school, i just made some spaghetti with tomato sauce and went through my biology flashcards for tomorrows exam.
thats all for today! I am looking forward to writing more soon, and easter break will be the perfect opporitunity to do so!

Study update - semester break (feb/march 2025)
Hey ho y'all. I haven't updated in a while so here's what's been going on:
- somehow survived all my exams. Got a 2.7, a 1.3 and a 1.7 in German and a 4.0 (pass) in the only English literature course I was taking (more about that later lol)
- I passed my German sign language exam
- I'm now taking an online Korean course and it's still a lot of fun learning Korean. I will probably do the higher level one too once I've finished this one.
So, let's continue with what my next university semester shall look like once the break ends in April. These are my courses (after page break) :
- German main lecture
- German linguistics 1.2 (seminar)
- German Mediävistik (medieval German) (seminar)
- medieval German lecture
- German literature (seminar)
- German sign language 2 (lecture)
- German sign language 2 (seminar)
- Medieval English (basically swapped modules to take this instead of semantics and pragmatics, which was the course I dropped out of last year. A man gotta admit his defeat...)
- Medieval English (lecture)
- British Cultural studies (lecture)
As you can see there are quite a few lectures awaiting me next semester... and my attitude towards lectures has never been good. I tend to just. Not go.
Remember how I wanted to talk about my 4.0 in my English literature exam, which was an insane close call? Yeah. I went to 2 lectures and paid attention to...like...half of ONE of the lectures. I studied day and night for 2 weeks straight to somehow squeeze all the information in my head and SOMEHOW I managed to pass even though I hadn't read any of the books we were supposed to read. In German we call this Bulimielernen aka you stuff yourself with information to puke them out during the exam and forget about them immediately once the exam is done. It's always been my problem that I do this. I'm the king of procrastination and it tends to somehow work out for me (I'm very good at memorizing things, have always been great at vocabulary tests for example) but this time it was extremely, extremely uncomfortable and nerve wracking. I don't want to repeat these two weeks ever again in my life. Never. I also feel like this way of consuming information is slowly but surely ruining my ability to remember anything at all. Might also be adhd but I have serious concentration issues.
So with this disclaimer. Here comes my plan for next semester (and the preperation before the semester)
Preperation:
- go through all the old sign language slides to refresh my knowledge before the course starts
- fix my sleep schedule. YES I AM STILL AT IT but I know I can do it. I've done it before.
Semester:
- read all the books for cultural studies immediately
- go to all the lectures (or at least!! to medieval English, medieval German and British Cultural studies!)
- do homework
- prepare for seminars (it makes it so much easier, I noticed that during my German literature seminar last semester and I'm doing the same thing for Korean atm cause attending the lessons would be way too stressful if I didn't do it)
- do sign language exercises regularly
- start preparing for exams at least 3 weeks prior (this plus going to the lectures is kind of the most important point. 3 weeks isn't that long but for me personally it's the max time I've ever spend in preperation for any exam (my A-levels) so it has to suffice for now.)
So. Yup. There we are. Idk when you'll get the next update but this is it for now. See you!
