"Mammon" _ Immortal Snail Assassin _ Character redesign/ concept art inspired by "Mammon" from "Helluva Boss" (spindlehorse studio/ Vivziepop) It's Mammon but he's a giant demonic Snail in an evil clown disguise. His eyes are on the sides of the head, the opening of the dress is the mouth and shows the teeth, the shell is represented by the crown on the fake head of the clown, which is none other than Mammon's castle itself. His arms are chains of green light, his hands are gauntlets of hollow armor. The chains end up straight in the demon's mouth. The soul of Fizzarolli chained to the demon is represented on the hand. Forced to serve him by pushing the damned souls to enter Mammon's tent to seek entertainment, they end up being swallowed up by the monster. The demon is like a ghost, representing futile entertainment that leaves nothing and slowly devours the soul..

Amazon argues that national labor board is unconstitutional, joining SpaceX and Trader Joe’s
Amazon is arguing in a legal filing that the 88-year-old National Labor Relations Board is unconstitutional, echoing similar arguments made this year by Elon Musk’s SpaceX and the grocery store chain Trader Joe’s in disputes about workers’ rights and organizing.
The Amazon filing, made Thursday, came in response to a case before an administrative law judge overseeing a complaint from agency prosecutors who allege the company unlawfully retaliated against workers at a New York City warehouse who voted to unionize nearly two years ago.
In its filing, Amazon denies many of the charges and asks for the complaint to be dismissed. The company’s attorneys then go further, arguing that the structure of the agency — particularly limits on the removal of administrative law judges and five board members appointed by the president — violates the separation of powers and infringes on executive powers stipulated in the Constitution.
The attorneys also argue that NLRB proceedings deny the company a trial by a jury and violate its due-process rights under the Fifth Amendment. (source)
ICYMI, this is a case of corporations going, “7th Amendment Protections for me, but not for thee.”
It is strongly worth noting that in 2018 the John Roberts Court ruled 5-4 that companies can use forced arbitration clauses to stop people from joining together to fight workplace abuses - in effect denying individuals their 7th Amendment protections.
Subsequently, binding arbitration clauses used by corporations has proliferated; sneaking into all manner of common legal documents: personal banking applications, ordinary car loan applications, furniture purchases, and more. This is, unsurprisingly, a direct violation of the 7th Amendment that guarantees HUMAN BEINGS AND PEOPLE the right to a jury trial in certain civil cases and inhibits courts from overturning a jury's findings of fact. Republicans and SCOTUS are perfectly okay with corporations having more rights than workers and using forced arbitration to block people from having access to jury trials—but God forbid if corporations don’t have their right to a jury trial.
Tumblr media
This legislative push to bestow corporations with more rights than people, while simultaneously taking away rights from human beings, has been nothing if not thoroughly and methodically done. At this rate, no corporation will ever need to fear a class action lawsuit again.
Amazon, SpaceX and Trader Joe’s are union busting.
But this latest case against the NLRB isn’t just an attack on labor and worker’s rights, it’s a fascistic attack on the very heart of fairness and democracy itself.

She must be aware of this in order not to follow.
Let's break down that phrase everyone thinks they understand so well:
"Sometimes, to find the light, we first need to touch the darkness."
Though honestly, I'd swap "find" for "define."
Again, it’s about not being able to tell the difference. One is real, the other is just a reflection, a imprint.
This ties back to the idea that evil doesn’t create anything new; it only distorts what’s already there. But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist on its own? It’s real in the same way water is real—it’s the medium that reflects the light.
So evil can’t create, only mirror what already exists?
In this sense, light is the ability to see things as they are without changing, despite your nature or the nature of others. It’s a pure mirror that reveals the truth.
Kind of like light itself, a mirror. But the light isn’t the mirror only, but the observer. The one who learns, like Perceval, the knight from Arthurian legend, who has to find the Holy Grail to heal the king and the kingdom. (Ring any bells?) More on this symbolic coherentes in this post.
Tumblr media
By the way, the symbol of water is the same symbol of the spirit realm and the afterlife that we see in films like *Blade Runner* or *Dune* by Denis Villeneuve. Water is portrayed as a source of initiation, but at the same time, it's a barrier that separates two worlds — the living and the dead.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once again, the representation of Good and Evil as a pair — Man and Woman. The woman symbolizes the ability to create life (power? light, the eternal flame of Eru Ilúvatar? inspiration?). And the man, as the one who plants the seed, inspires? motivates? tempts? (guides or implants ideas?). The man's role as the embodiment of Evil/darkness in *LoR* is not entirely clear. But perhaps we can say that he initiates into the unknown, embodying the same element of water.
"He offered me wine, red as a blood moon. He offered me wine, and on that dark and nameless peak, I drank it. I drank it all."
The quote from Adar talking about his initiation in to a darkness from the season 2.
And once again, these contradictory and controversial terminology :
light and good, evil and darkness—words that aren't true synonyms but are often linked, simply because they represent opposing pairs.
Was he truly after that particular power she possessed as a woman/light—the ability to create life (not in the literal sense of childbirth, but symbolically, as light, inspiration, energy, and consciousness)? And perhaps she didn’t value or realize this power within herself?
It’s an interesting thought, that maybe, in a way, he freed her from darkness by taking on that function himself (became a villain), fully allowing her to be herself, embrace her lights within herself?
Tumblr media
But of course it's all just a speculations.. eh
Etc..etc..etc...
Realization or the awareness of something is a huge change in a person's consciousness. After that, you won’t be the same as before because you will never— and I mean never—repeat old mistakes again, because you know. Not just some made-up idea or personal decision; no, this is knowledge. And along with knowledge comes peace and confidence. Confidence is the opposite of contradiction. That’s what was boiling in Galadriel's blood from the first season because she had unresolved inner issues with evil within herself, and in the second season, she had unresolved problems with love to the same evil.
If Sauron used love to penetrate her mind and bind them together without her consent, then Galadriel needs to figure out where the evil is and where love is so she can rid herself of those ties to evil without opposing love.
So, the true motivation for fighting against evil is a kind of loyalty to love. And for that, you need to separate one from the other, define it, understand it, and gain confidence. How does confidence come? I think it’s a reward for the trials you’ve been through. And you can’t rush or cheat that process.

Serafina has never had a reason to disobey her pa and venture beyond the grounds of the Biltmore estate. There’s plenty to explore in her grand home, although she must take care to never be seen. None of the rich folk upstairs know that Serafina exists; she and her pa, the estate’s maintenance man, have secretly lived in the basement for as long as Serafina can remember.
But when children at the estate start disappearing, only Serafina knows who the culprit is: a terrifying man in a black cloak who stalks Biltmore’s corridors at night. Following her own harrowing escape, Serafina risks everything by joining forces with Braeden Vanderbilt, the young nephew of the Biltmore’s owners. Braeden and Serafina must uncover the Man in the Black Cloak’s true identity... before all of the children vanish one by one.

The Clique by Lisi Harrison
Enter Claire Lyons, the new girl from Florida in Keds and two-year-old Gap overalls, who is clearly not Clique material. Unfortunately for her, while they look for a new home, Claire's family is staying in the guesthouse of the one and only Massie Block—Queen Bee of Octavian Country Day School. Claire's future looks worse than a bad Prada knockoff. But with a little luck and a lot of scheming, Claire might just come up smelling like Chanel No. 19.
Meet the rest of the Clique:
Massie Block: With her glossy brunette bob and laser-whitened smile, Massie is the uncontested ruler of The Clique and the rest of the social scene at Octavian Country Day School, an exclusive private girls' school in Westchester County, New York. Massie knows you'd give anything to be just like her.
Dylan Marvil: Massie's second in command who divides her time between sucking up to Massie and sucking down Atkins Diet shakes.
Alicia Rivera: As sneaky as she is beautiful, Alicia floats easily under adult radar because she seems so "sweet." Would love to take Massie's throne one day. Just might.
Kristen Gregory: She's smart, hardworking, and will insult you to tears faster than you can say "my haircut isn't ugly!"
Swallows and Amazons by Arthur Ransom
Swallows and Amazons introduces the lovable Walker family, the camp on Wild Cat island, the able-bodied catboat Swallow, and the two intrepid Amazons, Nancy and Peggy Blackett.
Spy School by Stuart Gibbs
Ben Ripley may only be in middle school, but he’s already pegged his dream job: C.I.A. or bust. Unfortunately for him, his personality doesn’t exactly scream “secret agent.” In fact, Ben is so awkward, he can barely get to school and back without a mishap. Because of his innate math skills, Ben isn't surprised when he is recruited for a magnet school with a focus on science—but he’s entirely shocked to discover that the school is actually a front for a junior C.I.A. academy. Could the C.I.A. really want him?
Actually, no. There’s been a case of mistaken identity—but that doesn’t stop Ben from trying to morph into a supercool undercover agent, the kind that always gets the girl. And through a series of hilarious misadventures, Ben realizes he might actually be a halfway decent spy…if he can survive all the attempts being made on his life!
My Friend Flicka by Mary O'Hara
It seems Ken can't do anything right. He loses saddle blankets and breaks reins...but then comes the worst news yet: a report card so bad that he has to repeat a grade. How can you tame the dreamy mind of a boy who stares out of the window instead of taking an exam? Enter Flicka, the chestnut filly with a wild spirit.
Over the course of one magical summer, both will learn the meaning of responsibility, courage, and, ultimately, friendship.
Alcatraz vs. the Evil Librarians by Brandon Sanderson
AN ANCIENT RIVALRY REAWAKENS.
Everything I'd known about the world was a lie.
On my thirteenth birthday, I, Alcatraz Smedry ( yes, I got named after a prison, don’t ask ) received my a bag of sand . And then I accidentally destroyed my foster parents’ kitchen. It’s not my fault, things just break around me, I swear !
I thought the sand was a joke until evil Librarians came to steal it. You’re probably thinking, “Librarians are nice people who recommend good books,” but that’s just what they want you to think! It turns out they’re actually a secret cult keeping the truth from you―a hidden world filled with magical eyeglasses, talking dinosaurs, and knights with crystal swords!
Or so my Grandpa Smedry claimed when he suddenly showed up to rescue me. So now I have to go with him to invade the local library and get that sand back, before it's used to conquer the world. And Grandpa says how I keep breaking things is actually an amazing talent. There’s no way that can all be true, right?
Will I ever make it back home alive?

on the topic of audiobooks, the official audiobooks are also finally coming out with the Megamorphs and Chronicles!! Looks like they are releasing them in chronological release order starting this month!!
Hell YES! I was worried those weren't going to get made.
I'm genuinely excited to see (hear?) who gets cast for Esplin 9466/Visser Three. There are so many different ways you could go with that one — smug and snobby, eager and naïve, perpetually angry, perpetually contemptuous — that it'll be interesting to hear.
They're on Audible here and on Scribd here.

I’ve learned that a big a reason I don’t love romance novels as much as I want to is because they all insist on having male love interests who are jealous, macho alpha-males while my type is men who look like they would cry if they stepped on a bug.
