So he got them during a—let's say—crossroads of destiny *wink wink*#Those are his shame tattoos. He's terribly embarrassed by them so the Gaang tease him about them. (He's secretly very proud of them tho)#It's all about the duality inherent to fire (and himself!) as well as protection.#The red dragon has his back at all times. It protects Zuko from his past—from everything that he has left behind and is walking away from.#The Blue dragon guards him front unknown threats. It curls over his left arm (his most vulnerable side) and rests its head over Zuko's heart #It's all very symbolic #Zuko loves his tattoos but is also embarrassed and ashamed of how he got them. He was in a very bad place at the time.#If he got the chance to get his tattoos done *now*—he probably wouldn't do it.#He wouldn't change a thing tho. They're part of who he is. A reminder of who he was.#Also they're kinda hot #So that helps #Also...I forgot to draw the blue dragon's body on the back of his shoulder so... I really wanted to do some angry Engie sketches

And then I made this

So um. It looks kinda bad since I rushed it but I imagine this is what medic saw when Engie sawed his arm off.

And he willingly did that—fully conscience—no under the influence he legitimately just decided to cut his hand off and replace it with a robot hand. He just needs help putting it on and went to medic for it :D👍

(My interpretation at least, this guy is NOT normal STAY AWAY from him NOW)

#i havent drawn them in a while ^_^ changed their hanfu a little so they only really wear the top half #and the leg shape as well.. i used doll joints in the past just so it wouldnt bother me drawing their leg bending but at this point idc #the red parts on their hanfu are meant to kinda visually mirror sailor's red rope.. something something bound by fate #and i opted for a ginkgo pattern this time around since i think its suits them better. coincidentally ginkgo also has medicinal properties #and i kept the marking frm when zah drew them because it really is such a nice touch that i wanna keep it in their design :)#and if we're going off the idea of sailor bringing them clothes to wear as souvenirs id bet he picked that pattern out since it #reminded him of xin lol. you can also see they have a little fish charm as their jin bu (sailor has a matching one)#they are so friends to me... i love them sm #still need to update their page a little since i overhauled some of their lore.. theres a whole slidedeck and everything lol #my art #myart #my oc #myoc #oc #xin ya #lmk #lmk oc #lego monkie kid oc #ref sheet #oc ref sheet #oc reference sheet #fur #furry art #furry

Quick writing tip: You can write your story and develop your characters in an episodic format. You don’t have to write a big first chapter or write your characters as if it’s their GRAND INTRODUCTION or take time to formally introduce things if you’re just writing a one-off story. Heck, you can even assume that the reader knows some things about your world when you write these one-off things.

Sometimes you just have to write your characters.
