Quick writing tip: You can write your story and develop your characters in an episodic format. You don’t have to write a big first chapter or write your characters as if it’s their GRAND INTRODUCTION or take time to formally introduce things if you’re just writing a one-off story. Heck, you can even assume that the reader knows some things about your world when you write these one-off things.

Sometimes you just have to write your characters.

gk! jason coming to your place with your favorite soup from that takeout place on the corner of your street… just cause you texted him to let him know ur ill… it was actually you telling him to stay at his own apartment for once because you didn’t want to get him sick. that man doesn’t listen.

he also doesn’t like being away from you but that’s besides the point. yes, hed face 1000 illnesses for you… worry about that when you arent sick.

jason’s standing at your door, takeout bag in hand. he cracks a crooked smile when you open the door wrapped in an old quilt, tissue in hand. “told y’i was sick, dummy.” youre glaring at him. its easy for him to read past it, jason knows its because you care about his health more than he does.

“yeah. and im being your boyfriend. gonna let me in, or…” he dangles the bag in front of you. “should i take this to my apartment?” the soup sloshes against the plastic container, almost begging you to down it all in one go. “bastard. c’mon. your fault if you catch a cold.” the wooden floorboards of your apartment creak as he pushes the door open further, grin widening.

jason: 1, you: 0.

“it’d be worth it if i did.” he eyes the makeshift nest youve created in your bed. your apartment is freezing, no wonder you need all those blankets. rifling through the cabinets doesn’t comfort him any further. half the medicine is expired and the other half won’t do anything. “you are…” he trails off, seeing you still glaring at him. “yes?”

“if you are about to judge my medicine cabinet, i will kill you.” he nods once, holding back a laugh as he raises his hands in defeat. “alright, alright.”

it’s a little dance you two do. jason couldn’t care less if he lived or died, but you? he needed you to take care of yourself. you felt the reverse. both of you in a never-ending battle of who would “win”. both of you far, far, FAR too stubborn to admit that you liked when you got babied by the other.

“can i at least go getchya somethin’ that’ll actually make you feel better?” you grunt in response, practically nose deep in the soup he brought you. it was, in fact, helping. “whens the last time you ate, huh?” your eyes peer over the container and you send him a nervous smile. “haven’t felt okay enough to eat?”

jason walks over to the table and kisses your forehead. “call me next time, my stubborn, stubborn girl. i’m stayin’ til you’re better.”

listen i get that you don't like jason as a character or for his morals (if you even think he has them) but don't come at me saying that as if the whole batfamily doesn't do the same, the only difference is that they don't kill people (even if they do get close to almost kill some of the criminals they fight, in multiple occasions).

also, they ended up catching the real killer because the sister of one of the women he killed lures him and kills him, she confesses and they treat her like the bad guy when bruce himself said that if the killer had died it wouldn't be so much of a loss.

Hey llama, I was thinking about the p&p servant au, and I was wondering how would mc react to all of the guys attending a party she's serving at? Would it upset her to see Sans being haughty with other humans?

HOHOHOHO... I would assume at this point she's not yet one of Skull's servants. She belongs to someone else, someone who doesn't appreciate her like they do.

Sans: As much as he wants to immediately seek her out and take up all of her time, to talk to only her... he understands that it's a very busy party, and she's working. He steals her for a little bit of polite conversation, but he doesn't trap her- he doesn't want her to get in trouble. He's very kind to her, as he always is... admiring her from afar, catching her in quiet corners whenever he can, and openly scowling at anyone who comments about her. She enjoys finding ways to sneak a few hushed words with him in passing, and she loves the genuine delight on his face when he sees her in the crowd.

Would she be upset by Sans being haughty? No, not at all. Sans is only like that with people of his station or higher, never with servants. For her, there's honestly something really enjoyable about watching Sans be shitty to the kinds of people who are often the cruellest to her. He gets to say and do the things she wishes she could.

Red: She loves when Red shows up. All the staff do. Even before she knew him personally, she enjoyed when he appeared at events- Red is the life of the party, and often ends up causing some kind of scene that becomes talk of the town. Excessive drinking, ruinously beating someone at cards, pitting two idiots against each other until they get into a fight... all the servants knew that if Red was there, it was going to be a delightfully gossip-filled night in the staff quarters. Especially since Red was absolutely the type to woo any of the particularly eye-catching servants.

She likes him even more after meeting him. Because Red is excellent at distracting the other party members- most importantly, he distracts the host, usually immediately after shooting her a wink. Without her employer breathing down her neck she can get some rest in the middle of an otherwise completely action-packed night.

Skull: If Skull showed up to a party, that's a huge win for the host, and a ridiculous amount of social clout for them. So if Skull appears at the house, and expresses any open interest in Mc (which of course he will)... her employer will basically command her to be Lord Skull's personal entertainer for the evening. "Do whatever is necessary to keep our guest happy. Understand?"

If Red is there to third wheel and keep the conversations going, Mc and Skull would both probably actually have a lot of fun. Red knows his friend very well, and he can quickly and easily 'translate' for him to keep her engaged and relaxed. She likes getting to chat and eat, and Skull is just absolutely delighted that she's sat close enough for him to see her eyes.

If, for some reason, Red isn't there... it might be a bit more awkward. Skull will follow her around like an overly affectionate cat, but he gets overcome with shyness the moment she tries to start anything resembling a conversation. She'd still enjoy it, though- sitting with a silent guy who likes to stare still beats working.
