personally, i think we don't give jenny enough credit. she took in two very obviously underaged people, dealt with all of their strange habits like yelling to themselves or "using" her shop as a hangout spot or cussing out her customers or even their strange lack of boundaries with her, survived an implied serial killer date, and was willing to follow crystal with a knife when she thought she was going to confront her abusive ex.

After leaving Amity Park, Danny and Jazz had settled in Gotham. Danny got a low level security guard job at Wayne Enterprises while Jazz started her job at Arkham Asylum. Most would assume Danny had the job with the least drama.(They would be wrong.)

You see, while Danny was a security guard, he also would occasionally help out in other departments, which lead to some people getting…. possessive.

The Aerospace department had already practically adopted Danny after he ranted about how cool space was and came up with several feasible features to a new design. R&D found Danny to be a delightfully clever person whose brain was on par with their best minds, and they would trade their souls to pick his brain. Biotech adored his outlook on things and his weirdly accurate observations. The Cybersecurity department had never met anyone who could make better firewalls(though he did promise his friend Tucker, who he apparently learned everything from, would apply soon.) Even Legal liked him, since he was good with paperwork and pointing out possible loopholes.

Security was fighting the other branches back with a stick. Danny was theirs first!

I'll never recover from the absolute lunacy of the Wednesday finale. Enid really thought she would never see Wednesday again, went in for a hug, got rebuffed, and was totally like, "Okay, I hear you. BTW we'll fuck Tyler up if he tries something, please don't worry! I'M GONNA MISS YOU."

And then the very next time Enid sees Wednesday, Enid's in her wolf form, takes time out of a fight to give Wednesday PUPPY DOG EYES, and then makes sure Wednesday gets away safely. Then proceeds to nearly get her throat ripped out but at least Wednesday was safe!!!!

And THEN the next time Enid sees Wednesday, it's after Enid's scared something happened to her because none of her friends had any information on her! Imagine her surprise when small, dark, and pissed off appears out of the misty shadows!! Enid was so overwhelmed with every emotion ever and just HAD to cross Wednesday's no hug boundary!

And imagine her further surprise when Wednesday TOUCH ME AND DIE Addams pulled her back into a hug!! Enid held her like she never wanted to let go because there she is! Right in her arms!! Thank GOD!!!

It's even funnier from Wednesday's point of view. The last time she saw Enid, she left her crying alone in their dorm because she just had to get herself expelled. Wednesday, who was so jealous that Enid told a taxidermy squirrel she'd miss the creepy lifeless eyes waking her up, when we all know Enid really meant her. The same Wednesday who had a speech prepared to make her roommate feel better. Didn't want to say goodbye!!!

Wednesday stumbling around in the woods after almost dying in a crypt, being accosted by a douche bag barista who turns into a fucking MONSTER. And who comes to her rescue but her notoriously un-wolf werewolf roommate!! Wednesday was SHOOK. "Enid? The girl that cried when she had to say goodbye to me six hours ago?? MY Enid????" Her face was so shocked.

Then of course, the next time she sees Enid, she's getting linebacker TACKLED into a hug. And she was like OKAY FIRST OF ALL- but then the argument died when she looked at Enid!!

The crying face from this morning is now covered in blood and still crying, because the scaredy cat werewolf almost gave her life to make sure Wednesday was okay!!! Wednesday decided in that goddamn moment that Enid was hers!! NO MORE CRYING FACES, BABY, I'M RIGHT HERE. YOU WERE MAGNIFICENT.

Wednesday thought she'd never see Enid again, let alone see her risk her life for her.

Enid thought she'd never see Wednesday again, let alone be held in her arms for a lifetime.

dame aylin's whole speech when she kills lorroakan is extremely underrated btw but the part that gets me the most is the simple

"Dame Aylin is watching. She is indomitable"

the emphasis she puts on her name and on "she" is so beautiful. after so long of being treated as an object, called an it by most, lorroakan included, of being the nightsong, a relic, she reclaims her personhood here. her name is dame aylin and you will not call her anything else. she is a woman, not an object. and no one can take that away from her. she is indomitable, and she will never be reduced to a "relic" again

and with her being a woman obviously the extra layers of this. especially since her name also denotes womanhood (dame aylin, not just aylin), both times she is drawing attention to her personhood and her womanhood at the same time. those are tied to each other; personhood, which is so often tied to manhood (mankind, etc), here is expressed in a way that cannot be dissociated from her womanhood. she is a woman, and you will treat her with respect

and she is indomitable

in a world that tries so hard to tame women, make them pretty and palatable and small, to put them in metaphorical soul cages in service of men, which in her case was quite literal, she says she is indomitable. nothing and no one will hold her down, and she will continue to be loud, violent, strong, desire unabashedly, and all the things that are looked down on women

this also makes the "you are broken by its beauty" more powerful to me. because beauty is so often everything that a woman is reduced to; a woman's entire value is often tied to looks in a man's eyes. but when dame aylin calls herself beautiful, it is not in any way a beauty meant to make her desirable and palatable to men; on the contrary, her beauty breaks them. her beauty is in her violence, in her strength, in her wild and indomitable nature. and it cannot be reclaimed to be something that belongs to a man. her beauty is her "unfeminine" traits, it's her refusal to conform, her strength. everything that makes her undesirable to all the gamer men who hate her is what she calls her "beauty" here. not for anyone to admire, but for her to yield. not to be maintained desperately, but an inherent part of her

The thing about HotD is that it while it absolutely minimizes the agency and ambition of both Rhaenyra and Alicent, this is specifically used to glorify Rhaenyra and frame her as righteous while condemning Alicent and framing her lacking. That's the key difference in both their textual portrayals that has directly led to 90% of the fandom hailing Rhaenyra as the second coming of Christ while spewing the most hateful vitriol at Alicent just for existing. But y'all are not prepared for that conversation.

All I can think about is how fucked everyone treats a Shadow Dragon Rook if they choose to save Treviso over Minrathous. Because the decision is sound, you know? Horrible, and hard, but Treviso is this half-broken merchant city. No guard other than the crows, no defenses, no giant floating big brother laser in the sky and one of Thedas' largest collection of mages. And so Rook has to trust their fellow Dragons to protect their home and hope to anything that they can keep the blight from Treviso. Only it's not enough, and despite the fact that Rook is one (1) person, who's only leading because no one else would goddamn do it, who has never even SEEN a dragon before the one at D'Meta's Crossing, and who still managed to fight off one dragon right after a grueling mission and then still have the energy to run off to try and help Minrathous - everyone still seems to blame them. And not just that, but the entire team spends most of the next act with their hearts breaking for Minrathous, and for Neve especially. 'Poor Neve, her home is gone, her people are dead, her life as she knew it is changed forever, poor neve, I know you didn't have a choice Rook but Neve is hurting now'. And I LOVE Neve. I love her. But it is so fucked up that as a Shadow Dragon Rook who was forced to make a horrific choice, who ALSO lost their home, their people, the life they knew- no one ever really bothers to comfort Rook. Or even consider that Rook would be absolutely shattered by what happens to Minrathous. Or fucking furious, because Rook and the goddamn Crows managed to fight off their dragon by the skin of their damn teeth with basically nothing, so how could the Shadow Dragons and the rest of Greater Minrathous not handle theirs! What were they goddamn doing that whole time?!?

The only difference between Rook and Neve is that Rook doesn't have the luxury of fucking off in the middle of a fight for the world to go mourn what they've lost. They have no choice but to pull their shit together and keep going.

And still every time Rook goes to a companion with the broken pieces of themselves in their bloody palms its just. "Oh Rook, how could this have happened to Poor Neve"
