In response to Slate's article on the possibility having non-heteromative team in figure skating (particularly, ice dance and pairs), Oniceperspective shared a glimpse of Gabriella Papadakis (FRA) and Madison Hubbell (USA) working on their same-sex program. You can see how they switch the leading figure between them.

That didn't stop Charles's heart from beating faster when he thought about it. Or when he glanced at Edwin's face for his own reaction.

His face was passive, a careful sort of expression that didn't allow a single thought through. It was different than his focused look, the one he wore when he usually skated or otherwise trained. This one was so carefully blank it might as well have been plastic.

"Like this?" Charles asked, his hand hovering at Edwin's waist.

"Well," Edwin said, clearing his throat slightly. "I should certainly hope that you would hold on a bit tighter, otherwise you're more likely to drop me straight down onto yourself."

Edwin's slightly confused when the object he finds placed in his hand feels nothing at all like the book that he was waiting for Charles to pass him. He turns to ask how Charles could have possibly confused Murder on the Orient Express with a ring, only to find his partner in the middle of their office down on one knee.

Sherlock Holmes is the funniest case of “doomed by the narrative” ever. Doomed by the narrative and destined to die young bc the creator hated him, and then the fans literally bullied him into un-dooming the narrative, writing about him for another thirty years, and giving the character a canonical happy ending where he retires to the countryside and keeps bees. Funniest shit ever.

so, I have to give a shoutout to Sage_Owl over on ao3 for her fic no more the knight of dreams and show

this is a dbda fic for the ApocalAugust event, and it is AMAZING! Genuinely, such a good fic that I cannot stop thinking about it. It is a masterclass in worldbuilding, the characters are so on point even though it is an AU set in a very different world, and I literally cannot wait for the next chapter. The sirens, the war, all of it is so good and leaves me trying to guess what else has either happened in this world or what will come next!
