#every situation is different but in general

I totally agree with you. I think Tommy’s freak out was probably derived from past experiences of his. And him being afraid of getting hurt again which I think is fair.
I was honestly optimistic on them resolving the situation by having buck reassure him that he does see a future with him and that he can be his first and his last. And would have come back stronger from it.
And then those interviews hit and just like that… it’s over?
it's literally the interviews that threw me for a loop bc nothing makes sense. the way tommy was in every part of the previous ep, the previous ep ending with that hopeful scene, there being no negative signs for them ever, the breakup scene following josh's words about people like him and tommy making bad choices in fear sometimes. i won't even mention the general picture with last year's interview stating that they wanted tommy bc they wanted a love interest that could be written easier into the show and wouldn't fizzle out and the optimism for buck's storyline going forward looking different. like all of this feels like building ground for this to be a wrench in their relationship that they resolve and get stronger in the aftermath. i didn't think for one moment it was permanent while watching till i saw the interviews.
#hell i was enjoying it bc i love break up arcs!#my kingdom for this being a fakeout so i can come back one day and enjoy the angst of it#911#bucktommy#911 spoilers#mimi talks

what are your thoughts on nde for either eddie or buck in 8x08? me personally, im thinking buck is gonna get the nde, and i think he’s gonna be shot. tim recreating s4/5 when he originally wanted to do buddie, but what im thinking, is buck realizes his feelings for eddie but doesn’t want to/doesn’t know if he should tell him, then he gets shot and it’s all dramatic and eddie is there and freaking out, trying to save him and keep him alive (aka why they’re pushing medic eddie so much this season) and buck realizes this might be his last chance so he just goes for it anyway and while he’s bleeding out he tells eddie he loves him😭 i know this is probably not what’s gonna happen but lol i just enjoy theories and i always love to hear what you think!
adding onto this, i ALSO saw around twitter the theory that buck would get a nde, but he gets hit by a car or just in a car accident in general, and eddie is there and it parallels shannon’s death (obviously buck doesn’t die but you get the memo😆)
Hi, darling! Okay, I don't mean to shit on anyone's specs, but I think either of them getting shot again would be so uninspired. The show is slowly reintroducing new ways to pull the triggers they put down for buddie because they need to address the stuff that happened to them somehow, but a direct mirrored parallel to the shooting wouldn't work as well as everyone seems to think it would. Partially because I think that forcing Buck to confess because he (or Eddie) is dying is yet another way to take away Buck's agency and further attach Buck to the idea he's only worthy of love when someone bleeds. But also because putting one of them in the position to be doing the saving again won't really further their storyline. Eddie watched Buck in a nde twice, the bombing and the lightning, and Buck watched Eddie in a nde twice, the well and the shooting, and I think they need a combined trigger, aka a combined nde.
I am attached to my drown Buck theory, have them off duty, crash the car, end up trapped and the car filling with water, but I also think that the trapped dads theory also works a lot here, especially if you put them both in the situation while off duty, aka without gear or backup, and you can play with a lot of elements of every nde before that and create a catalyst for them to talk and figure themselves out. I also think everyone is getting ahead of themselves, I don't think they are in the place to get that catalyst yet, and 2 episodes are not enough to get them there when we are talking about an ensemble show. I feel like people are expecting a direct callback because we got a well callback and are getting a lightning callback, but while buddie was front and center during the well callback, they actually used it to further Chim at first. It works to get the audience thinking about different aspects of their past, which in turn makes it so that when they talk about it, it will be in our minds, but it doesn't explicitly address the implications with buddie. I think the lightning callback will be a lot about reminding Buck of whatever it was that he was supposed to learn with it the first time around that they never truly explored due to the network switch and Natalia not coming back. I also think that confronting the situation where Buck almost died and possibly watching a freshly heartbroken Buck be impulsive can push Eddie to look at some stuff that would push him into action to figure himself out.
Especially if @stagefoureddiediaz ends up right and the lightning callback ends up being a truck bombing callback too since the well callback is also a subtle callback to the kids on the cliff call in 304 and could be played into different directions when it comes to what comes out from it moving forward. Buddie has a lot to talk about, but they need a reason to think about the stuff they need to talk about on their own before getting to a point where they can actually have those conversations. I think they rely too much on how well they understand each other that they fail to consider the way they can't actually read each other's minds, and figuring that part out is important before pushing them to the catalyst. And please don't get me wrong, I'm like, 90% sure that the catalyst will be another nde, I just don't think it's gonna happen until 8b.

my thoughts on the rudy/madison discourse and obx 4 generally (spoilers):
I watch obx 4 for the characters. I appreciate the actors, find their behind the scenes moments entertaining at times, and indulge in the occasional interview or Instagram post, but I do not 'follow' the actors. My fanfics are about JJ Maybank as a character, not Rudy Pankow. I appreciate Rudy Pankow's attraction, especially when playing JJ's character, but writing fanfic about Rudy himself (or any other actor) is, for me, uncomfortable. That isn't to shame anybody who does write or read such content, it just makes me personally feel uncomfortable.
All this to say: I don't care about the drama. I don't care about why Rudy left the show, whether this was his decision or the writer's. I think Rudy's girlfriend seems lovely, but I am highly aware neither myself nor anybody else knows her. Rudy is a grown man. He's in his twenties. He can decide who he does and does not want to date, and who he does and does not want to spend his time with, both on and off set. An Instagram post Rudy made on his story on Canadian Thanksgiving I think summed it up perfectly: he loves his girlfriend, and if people can't get behind that, then get out.
Furthermore, Madison and Rudy do not owe anybody anything. I don't find interest or want to engage in the toxic debate of the 'he said, she said'. They're all adults, they all have their own lives, this is all between them. The speculation and pressure from fans is cruel and uncalled for. They don't owe anybody insight into their private lives. Maybe they aren't friends anymore - that's okay! People drift apart, people fall out. Yes, it's sad to see the change from season 1 in terms of dynamics, but a lot can happen behind the scenes. That's life! Also, I don't like the comparison between Rudy and Madison, and Madison and Chase. People saying 'but the actual ex-couple can work together fine' are forgetting that every situation is different! I had an ex-boyfriend at an old job; I was pissed at him for a few months but civil at work, and then I got over it and he apologised and we became actual friends about a year after the break-up. However, I have other ex-friends and ex-lovers who I could not ever tolerate or be near, and I can't imagine what it would have been like having to work with them after a falling out. If this is the case for Rudy and Madison, that's a really tough thing to navigate! Give them grace - yes they're actors, but they're humans too! The bottom line is: it's their life, leave them alone.
Following on from that, stop placing blame! We don't know why Rudy left the show. There's all different opinions and sources about who said what, who did what, who is the 'bad guy'. Nobody knows the truth but the three involved and, as I said before, they owe this to nobody to disclose.
I think Rudy leaving the show, whilst sad, is a fair decision. OBX began filming in 2019. You do a lot of growing from there and, especially with changes in writing, you can want a change. I think actors can sometimes be too tethered to their characters and it limits their future work abilities, because nobody can picture them as anything other than that character. You can still have successful careers because of this (think Camila Mendes and Riverdale; Matt Le Blanc and Friends; Ellen Pompeo and Meredith Grey), but Rudy clearly wants to explore other areas and other characters, like theatre and Indie movies. Good for him! We should support him! I don't love this 'I'm sorry we couldn't save you from your actor, JJ' stuff, because Rudy gave his heart and soul to that character and that performance. He doesn't deserve to be punished because he craves a change. It's the same as any other job/career; we all want a change sometimes.
The writers and show creators have been getting a lot of backlash too. Here's my thoughts on season 4: was it their best season? No. Did it do some of the other seasons and previous plotlines/character development justice? No. Did JJ have to die? Not necessarily. However, it is easy to lose sight of the small picture when you have increased demand and increased budgets. Netflix like 'bigger and better'. When people are given more creative freedom, sometimes things can veer off course. We can forget the original character motivations, dreams and desires by getting caught up in the spectacle. The only show I've ever seen that really keeps the characters true and consistent, whilst developing, and never forgetting a plot point, is Bojack Horseman. To me, that is the only show. It's a shame, yes, that it veered so far from season 1's aesthetic, but that's how it is.
As a fellow creator, I feel it's cruel sending so much blatant hate to the writers and creators for making the show. If Rudy did want to leave, they had to find a way to make this work for JJ. Yes, I've seen some say 'he didn't have to die' but I sort of disagree. JJ is too loyal and attached to his friends to just 'go off' on his own to somewhere else. That would also be out of character. I think the way he died, and the build-up and plot points that didn't get resolved prior to his death, is a little annoying. I don't like how it wasn't in Kildare, in his home, and in a different country. But hey - that's just me.
I know, that if I took so much time and energy and money, working and building something that I am proud of just, just to receive so much black-and-white hate, I'd be crushed. Constructive criticisms and opinions are good - we can be upset about a character dying - but saying 'fuck you' and 'we hate you' is a bit mean, in my opinion. The time and energy and work gone into this season is astounding. The travelling and set design is incredible! I mean, the shop is the most awesome thing I've ever seen!
I also respect that they killed JJ. I'm not saying I wanted him to die. I'm saying, it pisses me off when shows give plot-armour to the main characters. It lowers the stakes. You know they're going to be fine because they're always fine (think the majority of Stranger Things - there's a really good video essay about that here btw that articulates this point a bit better). JJ's death was shocking and upsetting, that's how a death (in a show, at least) should be, but it means hey, there are real stakes here. It's not fair he died! He didn't deserve to die! But he did, oh my God. It takes guts to kill of a beloved, main character. I agree, JJ was my favourite part of the show, but I respect the choice, personally.
I liked season 4. It wasn't as good as season 1, I wish they stayed more grounded and didn't start so many plot points without resolving any/all of them, but I liked it. It was entertaining. The acting was pretty decent, though the chemistry and acting when Rudy and Madison had scenes together was a little disappointing (again, I don't want to point blame at a certain individual; it's hard to have good on-screen chemistry, especially when you don't feel like it matches your character's true motivations).
Was it unrealistic at times? Yes, but OBX usually is haha. It's a show about finding EL DORADO at this point, like I can accept that they let Sarah and JJ get swept into the sea during a storm and come out fine, without a single earring out of place. Sure, whatever, I'll take it (so unrealistic, 90% would drown and you'd at least shed your clothes to help you swim and stay afloat but WHATEVER. Also put your life jackets on guys wtf it's a STORM).
I wish there was more development on the plots, done by having less plots at once, and more conclusions for JJ before his death. I felt as though we were building up to a big blow-out/resolution with Pogues which never really came. Also, don't love how they handled JJ and his biological dad. I don't think he'd be that willing to trust a random man who abandoned him so easy. Yes, he's reluctant, but COME ON. JJ has the biggest trust issues. I just don't buy it. Also, explain, please, how Luke went from being so wonderful and gentle with JJ to full on abusive? Just a bit of explanation would be nice, please. Not a huge fan of the pregnancy plotline but hey, sure, whatever.
So, yes, that's my thoughts on everything: leave the actors alone; the writers have balls for killing JJ but that isn't necessarily a bad thing; give people grace; treat people with kindness; I'm going to keep writing for JJ; and season 4 altogether gets a 6/10 from me.
I'm open to different opinions, further thoughts, or just general musings/ideas. I hope this doesn't upset or offend anyone, I'm not trying to spark drama or shame a certain person or people: these are just my thoughts and views! So, I won't be participating in any 'who's the bad guy' discourse surrounding the actors. I'm just here for JJ and the Pogues. Take care of yourselves and spread positivity in this crazy, difficult time <3 and, of course, rest in peace, JJ Maybank <3
P.S. These are my season-by-season ratings: season 1 - 10/10; season 2 - 8/10; season 3 - 6/10; season 4 - 6/10.

how to always put yourself first? 🤍
Interesting question.
Understand that your needs and well-being are important.
Make time for you. Whether it's relaxing, taking up a hobby or doing something that makes you feel good.
Let go of guilt. You are not being selfish, it is your life and you are looking out for yourself, that is an act of self-love. You don't have to justify or explain yourself to others.
Be well so that others can be well. If you do things out of obligation, commitment or because you do not know how to say no will generate discomfort, if you establish healthy limits with people you will feel better, you will not be forced to do certain things that you do not feel like. There are situations in which you also have to give your arm to twist for others and there is nothing wrong with that! But this goes for people who find it hard to say no and get involved with people or situations that don't make them feel good.
Take the time to do those things that make you feel better about yourself, that make you feel more confident and stronger, that remind you how important you are.
Cultivate the ability to understand the difference between what you can change and what you cannot, and learn to let go of the things you cannot. Every day you will find something new to like about yourself and something you can change to be better.
Don't forget that there are only three things in life that you can control: what you think, what you say and what you do.
Establish limits. Make a list of your own personal boundaries, and then list those of others.
Surround yourself with what makes you feel good.

Tips for Talking to Conservative Friends & Family
In the wake of the election, with the holidays around the corner, some of you may be wondering how to deal with friends, family members, coworkers, etc. who voted for Trump and/or who espouse his policies.
This guide is by no means meant to be authoritative and won't work in every circumstance. I accept no responsibility for what happens if you use any scripts and it goes horribly awry. But I did want to share some of my personal experience in this vein, as someone with a great deal of conservative people in my life whom I generally love and respect and would like to maintain a civil relationship with (and, hopefully, bring them back to center if not my side). I've had decent luck with these strategies in the past.
First: Only engage if it is safe to do so.
Do not get into political discussions that might endanger your job, your living situation, your access to care, or your physical and emotional safety. However, do engage if you are able to do so safely and your doing so might help someone in a more vulnerable position. What the fuck is privilege for if not using it to protect people?
Second: Identify your goal.
Do you want to de-escalate a situation so someone can get out of immediate danger? Do you want to establish a boundary? Or do you want to actually attempt to convert someone over to your side? Each goal has different tactics. Be realistic with yourself about what you're going to accomplish. If you do not have a close relationship with the person, you are extremely unlikely to change their mind about anything, and it's frankly not worth the effort. Let someone who is close to them do that work. De-escalate, set a boundary if possible, and gtfo.
But if you do have a close relationship -- if this person generally likes and respects you -- then you might have a shot at challenging their views.
We're going to assume a scenario where you're dealing with people you know and who you can generally count on not to be immediately aggressive. Somebody else will be better-equipped to talk about strategies for dealing with protests and people on the street etc.
De-Escalation & Setting Boundaries
This is your first line of defense against family members acting shitty. If someone tries to start a debate, makes an off-color joke or comment, or is otherwise behaving inappropriately, try:
Let's not talk about this over dinner.
I don't think this is appropriate conversation right now.
That's an awful thing to say.
I don't understand that joke, can you explain why it's funny?
I'm sorry, I won't listen to any more of this (leave the room)
That's not okay.
What you want to do here is make an appeal to correct standards of behavior. You want them to feel ashamed for acting out of line. In order to make this work, it is essential that you:
Remain calm and keep an even, light-but-firm tone of voice. It needs to be clear that you're not joking around, but you also cannot sound upset. (Yes, this is really hard. I'm sorry.) Practice your very best "I'm not angry, just disappointed" tone for maximum effect. If you can manage it, eye contact and a neutral or even slightly concerned or sad expression will make it even better.
Avoid insulting or attacking them. Do not say things like, "Stop being an asshole" or "I can't believe you're acting like this" no matter how much you want to. Do not say "That's racist/sexist/ableist/homophobic." These types of replies, no matter how accurate, will make them defensive, and defensive people shut down and stop listening. If you come off as angry, that gives THEM permission to be angry right back. But if you come off as the normal one, them getting angry makes them look like a dick.
Do not laugh. Avoid the urge to chuckle nervously or joke it off. It WILL feel uncomfortable. It WILL be awkward as fuck. That's the point. They are misbehaving by violating a standard of appropriate behavior, and you are setting down a boundary. The awkwardness will fade and, frankly, they'll often start behaving better pretty much immediately.
Follow through on your consequences. If you say, "Dad, if you continue to bring up Trump, I will not call you anymore," you have to stick to it. Holding firm to your boundaries is HARD AS FUCK but if you don't do it then all you do is teach them that they can wear you down. Think of it like training a dog. Consistency is key.
You're not going to change anybody's closely-held beliefs with this strategy, but you WILL make a case for what is allowable around you. If you model this behavior, and encourage and embolden other people you know to do the same, you might be surprised. A lot of times, people's inappropriate behavior is a boundary-testing mechanism -- they tell the racist joke because they want to see if they can get away with it -- and if you shut them down, they often just...stop. Or at least retreat into their little hole to talk to fellow gremlins instead of you.
Challenging Views, Changing Minds
Okay. You actually want to engage them in conversation. You want to challenge their views and help them change their opinion. How do you do that?
Again, it's essential that you remain calm. If you can't have this discussion without getting heated, it's not the time to have the discussion. If they start to get heated, be prepared to de-escalate and walk away: "I cannot continue this conversation with you right now. Let's talk again some other time when we've cooled off."
But if you can keep calm, here is what actually works (sometimes):
Listen to them. No, really. Hear them out.
Help them feel heard by empathizing with them. Repeat back your understanding of what they said and how that must feel.
Remind them that for other people, THEY are feeling xyz emotion, too.
Ask them questions. Instead of telling them they're wrong, ask questions that will lead them to draw that conclusion themselves.
Make appeals to emotion rather than starting with facts and logic. You'll know what kind of emotion to draw on because you've been listening to them and empathizing. Hint: almost always, bigotry (at the personal level) is rooted in fear.
If this is going well, THEN you can start citing some sources, statistics, and facts.
Invite them to share THEIR sources with you.
Thank them for doing such a good job at being calm and discussing this with you, reaffirm your close relationship, and encourage them to come talk to you about this at any time. It's very possible that you are the only person they might feel safe bringing this stuff up to now and you want to keep that channel of communication open.
Very often (not always, or often), conservative-leaning individuals are people who lack the education or knowledge that left-leaning people do. They may be accustomed to being insulted, yelled at, and made to feel stupid. They are conditioned to believe that folks on the left are smug, holier-than-thou, stuck-up assholes. Whatever you can do to poke a hole in that perception will simultaneously make it easier to talk to them AND cause them to question that rhetoric the next time they encounter it.
This tactic won't always work. It probably won't work at all the first conversation. It's something you'll have to chip away at over time. But sometimes, it's worth it.
And if it's not? Well. As they say.

I mostly do politics posting elsewhere, but there's a spot of good news: it looks like ABC and AP have called WA-3 for Marie Gluesenkamp Pérez.
Washington's third district is a somewhat Trumpy district, so a lot of people were surprised when Pérez (a centrist Democrat) flipped it awhile back. Then, redistricting in Washington resulted in WA-3 becoming an even redder district, and given the general tendency of this year, it seemed likely that it would flip back to the GOP. But while Pérez has been in the lead, it was close enough that it took a few days to confirm her win. With 95% of the vote in, she's ahead by over 4 points.
A significant portion of that win is coming from Clark County, home to the Portland suburb of Vancouver, WA. This is the same county where some assholes exploded a ballot box to try and swing the county results, and the officials rushed to get new ballots to everyone affected. Pérez is now leading in Clark by 13 points. :D
She is certainly flawed, but the reality is that a Democrat I personally agreed with more would probably also struggle more to hold that district. And pretty much any Democrat in Congress is well to the left of the most left-leaning Republican there, so it's worth denying the GOP that House seat.
Also, every seat they don't get reduces their potential majority, and the more razor-thin it becomes, the more power """moderate""" Republicans (I know they aren't moderate) have to demand concessions from more conservative party leadership. This kind of calculation only matters in a dire situation, obviously, but it ... uh, is one, and the situation does become even worse if the far-right has a large enough majority that they don't need votes from the dissenters in their own ranks.
Thus far, Dems have either flipped or hung onto enough districts that whoever gets the House majority is going to have a very narrow one (at this point, House Democrats have lost a net 1 seat, with 205 won). I think the GOP will probably win the House in the end (they're closer to 218 as of 11/10/2024), but not by much, and we need to make them fight for every seat. So good on the Pérez voters of WA-3; it does make a difference.

Right my side lost and your side won. I am trying to understand but I want to know what is the big difference between the Progressives and conservatives? Why do Progressives piss off conservatives so much? We only want equality and fairness.
Thank you for the question. These questions are deceptively simple but they require somewhat complicated answers. I will try.
Oh, I am not just a conservative. I am a Constitutional Conservative which means that the Constitution is considered the supreme law of the land. It is the guide against which all legislation, taxes, regulations, and issues are judged. It applies equally to all and is therefore a protection for all. It can only be changed by amendment and is not subject to any foreign law or restrictions even those promoted by the UN.
Since I like checklists I will try to answer your questions in some kind of order.
Problem solving. When presented with a problem Conservatives try to solve it using known facts and reason. Progressives tend to use spending and regulation. I have never witnessed a Progressive try to solve a problem (Or perceived problem) in any other way than raising taxes or sponsoring legislation that further truncates our individual rights.
Control. Progressives seem to love control, either being in control or being controlled in every aspect of life. They want to tell or be told what people can own, how far people can succeed in life, what people can think, what people can eat, what people can drive, and lets not forget what people should do with the very money they earn. In that last one Progressives are content to confiscate wealth through taxes for redistribution to their liking. Conservative just want to be left alone. We want to keep most of what we earn, we want to enjoy our enumerated rights unfettered by social pressure or governmental overreach. We would like government to literally get the Hell out of our lives.
Lack of tolerance. When a progressive gets an idea they believe it to be so good that it must be shared with (Inflicted upon) others even at the point of a governmental bayonet. Socialism for instance, also limiting 2ND Amendment rights, private property rights, etc. Conservatives don't care what you want to do as long as we are left alone to do what we want to do. If you don't like guns, fine, don't own one. If you want to be a socialist fine, get fifty of your closest friends and create a commune, I wish you luck. Do what ever you like, just leave me and my rights alone.
Happiness. Conservatives seem to be relatively happy. Progressives aren't happy unless they are angry or upset about a situation that either happened over 100 years ago or is an isolated incident, or is just something with which they don't agree. Progressives aren't always right but they are always certain. In that pseudo certitude they are willing to trample any and all rights. Individuals be damned the cause is all.
The US is always wrong. No matter the issue Progressives will unerringly take the side of anything that goes against the US. Progressives will support despots, terrorist groups, rouge nations, and criminal politicians as long as those support the inherent anti US sentiment of the hard left. Conservatives acknowledge that the US makes mistakes, sometimes hideous mistakes but at our core we are generally damn good. For example, if Kamala had won you won't see too many Conservatives wanting to leave the US. We are Americans and will stay and fight to the last.
Equality. Progressive want an equality of outcome. A guarantee that all people will have the same success. They call this "Equity". Conservatives believe that equality means that all people will have a fair chance at success. That hard work, effort, and inventiveness will pay off. You can't ensure outcomes only starting points.
There are more but you get the idea. By the way, Progressives don't piss us off all that much, we just don't want you in charge.

Alright buddy, buckle up. This is my love letter to you because we made it to the one year mark.
Replying to this post last year was an impulse, and I honestly never thought we'd make it this far. And yet, here we are. I'm so incredibly thankful for that one fanfic that brought you on my path. You're a wonderful man, and it's an honor to be able to be speaking with you so often. You grew a lot this past year, and what started as a friendship simply for speaking about Gwen characters took a turn in the most delightful way. We may not agree on everything, and have very different lives, but know I mean it when I say you're the best friend I have ever made.
How come? I love you selfishly. You are the sweetest man I have ever came across. You are honest, clever, full of compassion, and you are a fighter. I am so, so very proud of you, Lou.I want you to be happy like you make me happy.I want you to thrive, grow old, and blossom into the amazing person I know you can be. Maybe I don't always find your actions rational or right, but it doesn't matter. I'll follow you down to Hell if it means you'll be safe and loved. I love you, Louie. You're perfect just the way you are, and every time you grow you only show me how human you are. Thank you for trusting me. Thank you for allowing me to support you, to get an insight in your bright mind, to let me be the ear you need when things are bad or you just want to talk about your interest. I appreciate what you do for me as well because you are nothing short of generous either. I thank you for letting me be myself with you, my very authentic and unfiltered, sometimes rude and often frightened, self. You're not my rock - you get emotional with me, and you help me a lot more than by just being "my anchor." You make me become a better person for myself, and just for myself. I will continue to be selfish; you are my little brother whether you like it, or not. It's wonderful being close to you, but know that even if someday we don't speak anymore, I will still be rooting for you. I'll always be in your corner, no matter what. Distance is inconvenient, and I hate that I can't hold you, spend time with you like I wish I could, but we both know I would catch that flight if you were in a dangerous situation. I know you would do the same. Thank you for being as genuine and open with me, as I am with you, my boy.
Happy one year, my clever boy. It doesn't matter if you change as we grow - I'll still love you no matter what.
I WANT FRIENDS WITH THE SAME INTERESTS AS ME, BUT ALL THE PEOPLE ON THIS FUCKING APP ARE CREEPY ADULTS OR HAVE A MDI ON THEIR BIO(I totally understand the second, but c'mon, I want friends) I am on the verge of tears, I just want mutual friends

mohammedayyads-blog asked:
I am mohammed ayyad of Gazans, living in very difficult conditions because of the war that the Gaza Strip is under. Since the outbreak of the war on the seventh of October we have been evacuating .
Then the journey of suffering and separation began, because my children were separated and evacuated from our home without covering or clothes., From here they became infected with diseases, and what increased our fatigue was the constant upbringing due to the different areas in which we were displaced, as we were displaced 9 times, and this was very expensive, the last of which was the 9th of this August from Hamad Town. In addition to that, we have lived in the summer season in a tent that did not exceed three meters, closed with nylon, so it is like an agricultural greenhouse atmosphere. It is very hot. All in all, we live difficult days that no human beings can afford
We have no work because of the war, and we do not have any kind of money and this is accompanied by a crazy and horrible rise in prices.
Although water is not suitable for drinking, this is the cause of many diseases
The last suffering is that we are out of Hamad without taking our purposes or our tents and now we are searching the earth in the roads and our children and our elderly parents are suffering..So we use direct donation including what they can or share links fully so people can know our tragedy and pain. Remember a small contribution can make a difference in the lives of many children who are dealing with their health condition all. Leave their details and make them happy with your generous contribution.

u know i truly enjoyed until dawn but
i really REALLY hate the way josh was treated. if ur friend is having a mental health crisis, pls don't shout at them, hit them, or tie them up in a shed. just.....just talk to them ok?? call their mum. get them their medication and a glass of water and a snack. please for the love of god don't hurt them, that will just make things WORSe 😩
ALSO. may i just say. that i actually do NOT blame josh at all for being angry with his friends. their first prank led directly AND indirectly to the deaths of his two sisters, and one year, a SINGLE YEAR LATER, they were all back on that mountain, playing MORE PRANKS on each other, arguing, not even TALKING about hannah and beth and showing remorse for their actions. they learnt NOTHING, they learnt absolutely nothing and were STILL acting like utter twats. i don't blame josh for wanting to scare the piss out of them. i really don't. furthermore i both respect and am attracted to his dedication, planning, and genius. i find him quite brilliant and i love his film references, i would like to airlift him out of the game and invite him to my house to watch mst3k and be my friend 😌😌😌
#birb still says#until dawn#JUSTICE FOR JOSH#i don't care what anyone says josh is a good boy and he deserved better#fr tho if ur friend is having a mental health crisis DO NOT escalate the situation!!!#do NOT hit them and shout at them bc that will NOT help#every situation is different but in general#be calm and get assistance from their family or therapist or doctor#water and food can help as well#bc dehydration or low blood sugar can make certain conditions worse#poor josh ;A;#i wish he'd had a better outcome esp after everything he'd been thru!!! ;A;

Let’s amp up the “Jason says ow and the batfam thinks he must be gravely injured” headcanon.
Jason calls Bruce or Dick for fun and says nothing but “goodbye” before hanging up (maybe it’s a dare by Roy who TOTALLY suspects the reaction Jay is gonna get).
Ten minutes late the entire Justice League is scouring Gotham, on the hunt for Jason.
#someone is stuck on Bat-sitting duty#meaning someone is tasked to watch Batman in case he tries to skimp on his no kill rule again#person in question is hyper aware Bruce definitely has ten different ways to taoe them down instantly#it’s not a fun situation for anybody#except for Jason#who’s getting ready for bed totally convinced all he’s gonna get the next day is an annoyed bat lecture#meanwhile every JLA member and their sidekick on the hunt for red hood#hoping they’ll find him (alive!) before they have a rogue batman on their hands#or a rogue batfamily in general#the rest aren’t looking too sane right now either oops#jason todd#batfamily#dick grayson#batfam#robin#bruce wayne#ghost talks#tim drake#red hood#batman#batdad#Damian wayne#alfred pennyworth

"Do you want my coat?" He half jokes, a little serious. Maybe having something to hid under would make Rabbit feel better. He just, leans forward, sort of resting his head on his hand and his elbow on his knee. He was tired. Rabbit had to be even more tired than him, though, being in such a high overdrive. Smokescreen just wanted to go home and curl up with Dakota and sleep for like 5 years.
"It's uh... complicated. Different for every situation. Actually got stabbed last time I was here..." He trails off, frowning for a second then shaking his head. It was understandable, he would've not believed himself either. "In my experience... and from what Wight has said... generally when a certain thing is resolved. Can just be... a conversation, or an introduction, or... whatever." He frowns at having to bring Wight up, but he was certainly more well versed at being in this situation.
*trips and drops feral(?) Rabbit*
op- how did he get here-
haha oh wow how did he get there. chucks smokescreen at him at an incredibly high speed
#they both don’t like the bright white cube-#crazy I wonder why LMAO-#<- yeah wow wonder. wonder why#au shennanigans

Imagine you're Mr. Wu and your weird gay daughter runs away in tears after destroying some unespecified object while yelling about you ruining her life. Because you told her you'd be moving to another state. This is the last time you see your daughter in half a year, and when she comes back, she comes back... wrong. She's wearing a light leather armor, a fur-lined cape, and a green flower crown. She has two long scars, one alongside her spine and the other along her chest, the tissue around them covered in burn scars. Doctors say she shouldn't have survived. Doctors say she didn't. Yet she's right here, in front of you, hospital gown clinging to her small, fragile, trembling frame. She fidgets with her hands. Getting her to stay still has always been difficult, but now it seems impossible. She won't let go of her phone. She's always texting her two friends. When you take it away, she gets anxious. You always knew those damn phones cause kids to act weird, but your kid having a panic attack seems too extreme, even for her. Then again, she's always been odd. Nowadays, she wakes up crying and screaming almost every night, and you realize she's been stealing her phone from your bedside drawer every night to text her friends, returning it before you wake up. You catch her once and decide to give her that damn phone back. It's the only thing that calms her down, as if she were a baby with a pacifier. She spends her last weeks in LA clinging to her friends, having sleepovers and playing her weird board games with them. Everytime they drop her back at her house, there's an excessive amount of hugs and tears. But the moments when they call her, or when she leaves to meet with them, or when they show up at their door to pick her up... those are the only moments in which you see her happy. One of her friends, the rude and disobedient one, came back with a big scar on her face. She's been acting a lot nicer, though. The other one too. She acts a great deal more adult now. You doesn't know what happened or where your daughter went. She won't tell you. But you can tell this friendship is the only thing keeping her afloat right now. Maybe you know, deep down, that no one else would understand.
And then you decide to move anyway because fuck her amirite
#amphibia#marcy wu#my posts#so like what if marcy moving away was a proper tragedy#what if things were WORSE for her#what if *smashes marcy with a ROCK*#i realized that.#despite my parents being shitty (just found out literaly today my mom had doctors give me the wrong treatment because she assumed my body#would react the same way as hers. instead of doing what literally every doctor told her to do. now i need to get it fixed)#they still asked me how I felt about moving away to a different province when in like. 8.#like. oh right. this is something parents generally ask their kids about. instead of uprooting their entire lives out of nowhere.#marcy's situation is complicated in a narrative sense because#in order for her arc to work her departure must be dictated by morally neutral forces outside of her control#but her parents' decision seems very shitty with the context we're given. you COULD give context that justified their actions#i.e have them explain that they really do need this if they want marcy to go to college or some shit like that#but then it stops being Marcy vs. Forces of Nature#and it becomes Marcy vs. Her Dad (and she has to accept he's right in this one)#the show is clearly for a Marcy vs. Forces of Nature conflict (in this case it's the inevitability of change)#and in order to keep the antagonistic force abstract you CAN'T have her dad be a proper character#BUT. as a consequence -> Marcy has to give into the ''#the ''natural order'' which would be accepting her parents' power over her as natural and inevitable#it's not even like... accepting her parents are right or anything. just that their o#that their complete control of the situation and marcy's total powerlessness is natural and inevitable#and that's tragic! from a more watsonian ñerspective#perspective* : Marcy is sent back to her shitty parents and she just needs to learn how to deal with it away from her support system#the solution imo would have been to change the motivation behind her family moving away so that it's outside her parents' control too#it really has to be completely inevitable. i can't think of an alternative reason but it's just what it#it's what would fix this problem imo#it's a simple fix really

still haven't moved on from zane in this episode (aka I hit tag limit again and am unhappy about it)
#alek insanity#not gonna main tag this but prepare for a tiny rant#home is actually really good zane characterization and its super cool to me how it holds up to this day#s1 characterization is very specific to me because the behaviors displayed by the ninja there (mostly) isnt bc thats how they really are but#its due to societal pressure. cole originally being more 'stone faced tough guy' -> 'down to earth' -> 'really sensible easy to talk to guy'#is because hes always been a sensitive guy... but he felt he couldnt express that true version of himself. thats the whole thing behind his#true potential. jay going from s1 -> s6 -> now is less of societal pressure and more teenager figuring himself out but it still applies. ish#seeing how much the ninja have changed or grown from then to now is amazing because back then they all wore masks. they didnt know each#other all that well. but theyve gained that comfortability with each other and also have grown and matured as people#some seasons / eps characterization for certain people im not a fan of (lloyds random misogyny arc in s13) but i mean the overall trend here#and then there is zane. zane in home was pretty dead on to how he behaves now (at least... when it comes to his faults?) and i dont want to#say people skim over that but i am the sf proclaimed n1 s1e2 fan and overthink every scene. zane's early characterization is some of my fav#for him period. he also goes through a ton of traumatic stuff and a ton of bad writing bouts but why he acts so 'weird' or 'distant' has#always been a thread sewn in. he changed so much he stayed the same in a way... if that makes sense. -> ohhh the ninja get mail and he#doesnt? oh he has no family? he quite literally walks away from that situation. oh the ninja are yelling in his face and asking whats wrong#with him? he literally walks away from that situation. he says its to follow the falcon but seeing how he apologized to them by not only#baking a ton of pies (cough... the food fight is what led to him leaving at first) but he also found them a whole entire new house.#zane is unable to truly value what he does for others. insert him in s11 saying he 'tried' to fufill his goal of protecting others.#everything he has ever done still isnt good enough. then the ninja tried to apologize and he didnt really... let them.#that one post about characters putting on facades and that facade being how people really see them. even in fandom. thats zane to me#the guy who lies about being upset and avoids his problems ran away after being yelled at? and he said he wasnt really mad? that is a lie!!#him being a ~360 when it comes to his character development is neat to me because he never hid behind a mask in the same way the others did#cole wanting to seem tough vs being really soft? kai wanting approval so bad he starts being selfish? kai isnt selfish usually!#he is self centered but that is a whole different thing. just wanting to fit in and breaking free of that. zane's true potential came in the#form of 'i finally know why i am not normal' instead of 'i will be my true self'. zane never pretended to not be weird#(instert book) states he literally didnt know why people got mad at him. he just existed and it was 'wrong'. the mask he hid behind was#avoidance. he was pretty open about how he actually was (most of the time). when he was upset he would audibly sigh and walk away lol#but for him saying he wasnt upset / saddened by the ninja... it felt like a moment of selflessness. if that makes sense. he blamed himself#for the monestary burning down. so he didnt deserve the apologies (ish) in the virtues of spinjitzu zane is shown as the generous one iirc#he puts the needs of others over his own. he will bear whatever burden he needs if others are happy. at that same time he doesnt allow

#since i've decided to be online™ for a minute i'm gonna drop a controversial post and dip#i'm so so tired of people and their opinions on rainbows at shows#when people started bringing flags to 1d shows it was because they felt safe and the fandom felt like a community to them#they didn't do it for the boys and they didn't do it in the hopes of the boys interacting with the flags#the boys were lovely enough to make the fans feel safe and that's why the fans brought flags and stuff along with them#however as of late people have forgotten that and they bring it in the hopes of louis interacting with them#and then they're disappointed when he doesn't interact with them and unlarrie or unstan or whatever#like i'm so sorry but he never asked you explicitly to bring flags. and also he doesn't owe you an interaction#sure it's fun to do fan projects and to see everyone come together but do it for yourself#don't do it because you think he's a sorry closeted person who needs to see the support#he knows he's supported. he founded the rainbow bears so he definitely knows he's supported#by pressuring him to interact with the flags or whatever you're literally just shoving his closet in his face#just because harry interacts with rainbows does not mean louis should do. they're two completely different people#with completely different situations. so don't invalidate their identities#if you want to bring flags along do it for yourself do it because you want to do it because you feel the community#don't ever for whatever reason do it for louis because you think he needs it or whatever#like in general don't do it for other's sake. do it for you and only you.#i'm genuinely tired of the louis vs rainbow conversation coming up every few days so yeah

The gist, as I understand it:
There are uncounted ballots Not actually a scandal. The number of uncounted ballots is not high enough in any of the states they're spread across to have any statistically significant chance of flipping a state such that the election outcome will change. Even if that did happen, the official electoral vote will go to the correct person once they are fully counted. Any media calls in the meantime are not official outcomes but rather highly confident guesses. These ballots are still being counted and will be fully counted before anyone is sworn into office. (Even if they don't swing the presidential election, they also address state and local issues, after all.)
The drop in total votes compared to 2020 is proof of suppressed votes I don't disagree that it's suspicious, but probably for a different reason than the main group beating this drum. In any case, there have historically been drops in voter turnout between presidential elections in the past and the voter turnout this year is reasonably between the turnout from 2016 and 2020, so it's not inherently suspicious that fewer people voted. The number difference in and of itself means nothing.
People had their mail-in ballots challenged This is incredibly normal. I had my own challenged during a year in which we weren't electing a president. The way mail ballots are confirmed to come from a real person on the voter roll is by checking the signature on the envelope against a voter's signature on file. If your signature changes too much or you just happen to sign too differently from normal one time, you can have your vote challenged because election offices aren't sure it's legitimate. This is fairly common for younger voters in particular since many people don't fully develop their personal signature until after they first registered to vote.
This is what ballot curing is for and why it's generally a good idea to get a mail ballot sent in before election day, although most places allow curing for a day or two post-election. (Mailing the ballot back early is also generally a good idea to ensure it arrives on time, since not every state will accept ballots in the mail after election day.) If you provide proof of ID and an updated signature, the election office can match the new signature against your ballot and count it properly. If you're in an area where mail voting is big then there's likely even political outreach groups that will help try to get ballots cured. If you don't have groups in that area and you mailed in a ballot, you really should check every election to make sure your ballot was received and accepted.
The challenges to these ballots were mostly in swing states This was a forewarned situation. Aside from the fact some of those states expressed that they would relax signature check protocols in 2020 to accommodate how their residents weren't as used to mail-in ballots (which would mean a delay in residents having their changed signatures flagged) there were legal challenges since 2020 to force the swing states to review voter rolls to remove inactive voters who might have moved or died, to require they enforce their signature matching, and even a challenge on election day to force them to accept election observers. (In PA, IIRC.)
The argument could be made that this increased the difficulty level for people to vote by requiring they re-register (if they had been inactive voters previously) or by forcing them to file a new signature, but it was all within the law and, technically, aimed at forcing the upholding of the process rather than subverting it. By legal standards it was not cheating, and the bulk of the legal challenges were organized by a legal activism group and not the Trump campaign.
There were bomb threats called in to polling places, particularly in swing states This one is a very real and actual issue, and is currently being investigated. What comes of it remains to be seen. Regardless of what impact it had on the election, people should not be prevented from voting by such tactics. Polls were closed later than normal in the affected counties to compensate for their having to temporarily evacuate, so voters should not have failed to cast their ballot due to lack of time in which the polls were open. The estimated impact on voter turnout due to the threats is low, but it is still likely that at least a few people did not vote due to not having any time to do so outside of the window where the evacuations occurred, and that's a tragedy. The bomb threats were traced to Russia, but it's unknown if they originated from there or if someone routed their signal through Russian servers first.
There were ballot drop boxes set on fire Also awful. This happened in the Portland area specifically and destroyed a few hundred ballots. It was far enough out from the election that voters checking to confirm their ballots were received would have had time to request a new ballot and notice was put out to locals that if they dropped a ballot in such and such box X many hours before the fire, they needed to request a new ballot, but it's very likely that some if not most of those ballots were not re-cast. The votes might have slightly nudged the popular vote outcome but swung no states. Washington and Oregon both went for Harris. The arsonist left Free Gaza/Palestine messages at the scene of the crime but it's unknown why he thought ballot tampering was the way to go with that message.
i honestly don’t know if all this “trump cheated the election was fraud” is true or not cause it kind of sounds like the same thing trump did in 2020.
