Shu: !? Ryu~ku… I mean, Kiryu! What are you doing outside the window?

You’re pointing over at my seat… Do you want to come in and sit at the same table as me?

Ah, goodness, trying to converse through the glass will only bring attention. How about you just come on in?

Kuro: …Yo.

Shu: Quite the greeting you have there. You should be telling me what had you appearing outside the window out of nowhere.

Kuro: What’s the rush for? It’d be rude if I took a seat without orderin’ anythin’, wouldn’t it?

Shu: Hmph. Then hurry up and order yourself something to drink.

Kuro: I told you I’m choosin’ one now. Well, I suppose orderin’ ice tea would be a safe bet.

Shu: —Goodness. I was planning to take it easy for a bit, but to think you would show up.

Kuro: Take it easy and don’t mind me, then. Well, I’m the one who imposed himself onto ya, so guess I’m not one to speak.

Shu: …So, what do you need from me?

Kuro: Just spotted ya and thought to say hi since you’ve returned to Japan.

But well, there’s somethin’ I wanted from ya too. Or well, somethin I wanted to ask ya.

Shu: What do you want to ask?

Kuro: It’s about when I went to France with ya to film for a travel show. There was that incident involvin’ ya, remember? Y’know, the one with the erotic stuff appearin’.[1]

Shu: Non! You mustn’t use such expressions in a public space! Watch your language!

Kuro: …My bad. Didn’t know how else to describe it.

Anyways. Just was wonderin’ about that, if the incident was resolved, y’know. Since we sorta had to leave at a critical point.

Shu: …Sigh. I don’t believe you have the right to know, given you left me for dead at a crucial moment.

But it’s not like I’ve heard anything about the rest of your trip either. Did you get to finish filming?

Kuro: I heard the feature itself is still bein’ edited, but we should’ve gotten some good footage?

Shu: ? That’s quite the vague answer.

Kuro: …To be honest, what left the biggest impression on me was how the flight home was also really tough.

Shu: Good grief. Why don’t you just ask not to be given anything that requires you to be overseas, given you’re so poor with vehicles?

Kuro: ‘Cause we rookie idols ain’t in any position to selfish demands like that.

Shu: Don’t care, give your opinion regardless. You don’t want things like that to negatively affect your health.

Kuro: …Haha, how come your responses to me are always so snappy, Itsuki?

I felt we were able to speak rather peacefully all the way over there. Was it somethin’ about the foreign atmosphere?

Shu: Was it peaceful? Morisawa and Tsukinaga were there, I just have the strong impression that it was quite noisy. What did you and I even get to talk about…?

Shu & Kuro: ……

Shu: What is it?

Kuro: Oh no, it’s not a big deal, what were you sayin’?

Shu: Neither is what I had to say… I’ve got a favor for you since you’re here, but it’s nothing important.

Kuro: A favor?

Sounds good, lemme know what ya got for me…♪

Shu: Why are you so pleased? I’ve just figured to ask if you could carry my luggage.

I’m currently here at COCHI after leaving my luggage back at ES.

But my luggage contains my personal tools and such, so I’d like to bring them back to Starmony Dorms myself. However, with the luggage quantity, I don’t believe I can make it in one trip.

So I thought perhaps you could help me out, so I wouldn't have to go back and forth.

Kuro: That's all? No sweat!

Though…

Shu: Are there any concerns?

Kuro: It’s ‘bout our room. I haven’t heard anythin’ ‘bout Sena returnin’ to the country, so I’m assumin’ it’s more or less available, but…

Isara and I have been real busy, so we haven’t been able to give the place a good clean lately. Had I known you were comin’ in advance, I would’a gotten it clean.

Shu: Hm… That being said, you guys aren’t all too messy, right?

Kuro: Yeah. But if I knew ya were comin’, I could’ve taken the chance to hang and fluff up your beddin’ while cleanin’ up, y’know?

I’ll at least use the dryer to freshen it up for tonight. ♪

Shu: …As usual, you act as if you’re my mother.

Kuro: Hey, what’re you takin’ my bill for?

Shu: We’ve each finished our drinks, so it’s about time we leave. Though, I haven’t heard what you were going to say yet.

Kuro: I’m ready to tell ya ‘bout that anytime, but ya didn’t answer my question.

Shu: …As thanks for carrying my luggage. I’m going to go pay our for our bills, so you can wait outside.

Kuro: …And off he goes. He really doesn’t need to thank me for that…

Location: In Front of ES Building

Kuro: …That is a lot of luggage. Definitely not somethin’ you could’ve done in a single trip.

Shu: I’ll take the trunks, and you can take the suitcases… But isn’t it about time I hear about what you had wanted to say, Kiryu?

Kuro: Jumpin’ right to it, arentcha… Let’s start headin’ towards the dorms if you’re ready. …But it really ain’t that big a deal.

Shu: Still, it’s something you wanted to tell me. It wouldn’t be fair if you only had heard me out, wouldn’t it?

Kuro: ……

…A new shop opened on Time Street recently. It’s small, but they have a pretty impressive selection of stuff.

They carry those rare fabrics and threads you always seem to be orderin’ and buyin’, too.

So, I thought ya would like the place too, Icchan. I thought I’d let ya know, since I doubt ya hear ‘bout this stuff bein’ overseas and all.

Shu: ……

…Kagehira and others fill me in on things from time to time, you know… But this is the first I’ve heard about a shop like this.

Kuro: Really? Even I just found the place only the day before last.

Shu: I’ll head there right away once we drop off the luggage. This shop’s selection that you’re praising so much has piqued my curiosity.

Kuro: Jumpin’ right to it, arentcha… Wait, didn’t I just say that?

But well, ya don’t know how to get there, don’t ya? I don’t got anythin’ goin’ on after this, so I’ll show ya the way.

Shu: …I’m sure I can just figure out the way from others. But if you’d like to show me the way, then you’re welcome to.

Kuro: Alright. And ya can tell me ‘bout how that incident went while we’re at it!

Shu: Kiryu… Is that all you wanted to hear about in the end?

In that case, you can tell me everything you can remember about your trip, then.

We can try talking about what we’ve been up to in a normal way, can’t we? …It didn’t feel right hearing that we can’t interact peacefully in this country.

INFECTION AU - False Demodragon Disease Survivors Infected Cured Immune Unknown Part 1

Leonardo is doing all he can to keep his two remaining brothers safe. He has been keeping a journal to document the disease. He failed Michelangelo and Raphael already. He never will again.

Raphael sacrificed himself to save his brothers when they were cornered by Bradford. He is currently at Stage 4 of the disease, nearing 5. He continues to attack anyone in sight, with the exception of Michelangelo.

Donatello is tired. He is working in the lab alongside Stockman and Zeck. He knows that curing victims is possible, but finding the necessary resources is difficult. He spends almost every second creating a cure, but the virus is starting to mutate.

Michelangelo is the first to be cured. He was at Stage 2, but is now recovering. He still has blackened eyes and sharp teeth. He is aggressive but no where near as aggressive as the infected, however he tends to lash out. Most of the other survivors don't trust him, other than his brothers and Xever, who was also cured. Leonardo never leaves him alone anymore.

April knows that if she was to get infected, it would be the bridge between mutants and humans. She barely leaves the survivor hideout.

Casey is immune to the disease due to being human. While he's thankful for this, he wishes he could do more to protect his friends. He and April helped most of the humans of New York evacuate. Those who stayed are fools.

Karai and Shinigami live away from the other survivors. They reside in the Foot Clan lair, where their human soldiers guard them. Neither trusts anyone other than each other. Shinigami already cured Karai once though magic. And it took all her energy to do it. She knows she wouldn't be able to again. Unlike Michelangelo and Xever, Karai has no symptoms of the disease leftover due to being cured through magic.

Tiger Claw was a fool. Before his infection, he and the rest of Shredder's Foot Clan allied themselves with the turtles. The tiger was infected while fighting, trying to make up for summoning Kavaxas by defending the survivors every chance he got. He is now at Stage 3.

Chris Bradford is patient 0. While the virus didn't activate until Kavaxas was defeated, it still lay dormant in Bradford. He is at Stage 5. If you see him, you're already dead.

Xever Montes was cured from Stage 3. He was unknowingly infected from the moment he went with Bradford on the mission for the Kuro Kabuto. He is currently the third and last to be cured, however he has partly formed horns and wings and is still extremely aggressive. He is still recovering and other than Yasmin (OC) and Michelangelo, no one trusts him, especially since he was at Stage 3. Not that he blames them. He feels something is off He feels great.

Baxter Stockman works with Donatello and Zeck in the lab, searching for a cure. He's terrified. He hasn't stepped foot outside of the shelter since he first arrived there. He knows the virus is mutating. He and Donatello have agreed not to tell anyone that information in fear of making them panic more. Not even Zeck, their fellow lab mate, knows of this.

Anton Zeck and Ivan Steranko have always been together. All it took was one moment for everything to go to shit. Anton mourns his lover more than anything, promising to help him. He spends his time in the lab with Donatello and Stockman, who haven't told him of the virus mutating. This is to protect his already deteriorating mental state. Ivan is at Stage 3, nearing 4. So far every encounter with him has left injury.

Yasmin Nayak (OC) is one of the foolish humans who didn't escape earlier. She knows she should have, but her only friend, Xever, was infected. She couldn't bring herself to leave. Before Xever was cured, she spent every waking moment looking for him. Now that he finally is cured, she spends her time helping with his recovery.

The Mighty Mutanimals have not been seen since the virus began and are presumed infected.

Alopex searches for refuge. Since she can no longer sense Tiger Claw, she believes she is one of, if not the last remaining mutant.

The Shredder is dead. Infected yes, but was permanently killed when he took Kavaxas back to the Netherworld.

Ok I am going to be controversial. If I'm honest, I don’t really understand the desire for Adrien to turn his back on Ladybug at the end of Strikeback. That's partly because I don't completely get what the writers intended Adrien’s struggle to be about in Season 4. I understand what Ladybug did wrong, but my thing is…

Does CN ever actually express to LB why he is upset in Season 4? Does he ever try to reason with her or advocate for himself?

I don’t remember him approaching the real issue until they were under Risk’s influence and he says “maybe that’s because you never tell me anything.” I also remember that overall fallout feeling really muddy throughout the season.

From what I see, Chat Noir’s most valid reason for being upset is because she’s keeping him, her loyal partner, at a distance. She’s not communicating as well to the point that he ends up confused, outside of the plan a few times. He finds out she told someone her identity even though she's always been massively against that. Toward the end, he discovers she’s been working with an active Rena Furtive without making him aware. She said nothing between them would change, but he can sense this new distance and her secrecy. He doesn't quite know what to make of it, but he can't help but feel a bit betrayed. He deserves at least to know things like when a new Ladybug shows up at random or a secret miraculous holder being in the field with them.

So you'd think that would be the clear cut reason, but I'm not sure? The writing gives mixed messages and Adrien brings a lot of his own baggage to the table. The increased neglect and secrecy by Ladybug is one facet , but if we’re being honest about what we were shown, there are some more factors:

The side effects of the guardianship in itself. The nature of the guardianship means Ladybug is now a leader responsible for the kwami and involving many more holders. More holders make defeating Monarch easier and Paris more safe, but it also means less time as a duo and more competition to play on CN’s insecurity. He worried about his being replaced as early as Season 3 with Carapace. His insecurity is exacerbated by her distance, but also by more holders in general. The average person might not have been as upset at getting a "break" for a few rounds, but to Adrien, it's a sign that he is finally being replaced. Even if he knew about Rena Furtive, I’m willing to bet he still would have felt uneasy about her threatening their relationship.

He is in love with her. Kuro Neko’s messaging is all over the place, but Plagg wasn’t completely wrong. Ladybug’s increased distance and secrecy hurts 50 times worse because Chat Noir is in love with her. If he were in love with Marinette instead at that point, he might even enjoy the extra load off and having fun with his friends at school, but he is very much in love with Ladybug. That makes his suffering hit much harder.

He’s upset about Carapace and Rena Rouge knowing each other's identities even though he can’t know Ladybug’s. To be fair, I rate the other holders' identities BS pretty low on my list of things to rage at Ladybug about because after Season 3 when all the heroes were revealed and Ladybug continued to give the same heroes their miraculous while also still being really anxious over identities, it was so nonsensical that I chalked it up to plot convenience rather than Marinette just being this stupid and risky. The show was not about to design new hero models so logic be damned. I don’t blame her for this anymore than I blame Chat Noir for being stupidly bad in battle at random a.k.a nerfed to make Ladybug look better. I also acknowledge the rules for the Ladybug and Cat miraculous hold an elevated risk. If Monarch knows Rena and Carapace identities he maybe has two new miraculous. If he knows Ladybug and Cat’s identities, he has his wish and the world is rewritten.

His father also started neglecting him more after a big change in their lives. He’s projected his relationship with his father onto his relationship with Ladybug as early as Glaciator when she didn’t make it to his date. So possible PTSD.

There are also the reasons that the fandom projects onto Adrien as things he 'should' be upset about, but is never actually upset about and have never had any canon ground:

She’s the leader and the only holder with a cure. They’ve never been exactly equal despite that one line and he’s never had an issue with this on the battlefield. He only wants to know what’s going on. If he does have some leftover resentment at Fu not choosing or training him, his beef is with Fu.

He doesn’t know other holders identities. He’s only ever cared to know Ladybug’s. And this may be controversial opinion, but even if he wanted Ladybug to tell him the other holders’ identities, would he be justified in that? He’s not a guardian. Why is he entitled to demand the guardian hand them over? Especially without their permission?

Her plan with Luka to reveal their identities and erase his memory. This is to me her most egregious offense in season 4 and if he knew about it, it would make the argument against his forgiveness much stronger in my eyes. But he doesn’t. And it becomes obsolete information after the episode.

Even with all these heavy factors, all valid reasons to be upset, the only reason that validates righteous anger from CN’s pov and doesn’t make him look like kind of a tool is her secrecy around Rena Furtive and him discovering her keeping him out of the loop on some need to know info in Hacksan and one or two other eps. Emotionally, it goes much deeper than this for him. But these represent her responsibility in the matter.

The reason I can't see him justified in cutting ties with her in Strikeback though is that... this doesn't come up? He can't say he's tried to communicate with her. Nothing like “you’re keeping things I need to know from me and I don’t like it” or “you said things wouldn’t change between us as partners but you’ve distanced yourself from me. we started this together”. Nothing before Strikeback. I could see if he'd tried to talk about it and she dismissed him and didn’t try to fix things. But there’s no conversation around this in particular.

The weird thing is a lot of the other reasons come up in canon through his voice or someone else’s or both. He’s in love with her. He doesn't know what he'd do without her. All the new partners make him feel insecure and irrelevant. Why can’t we know each others’ identity and they can? In other words, the reasons that make him seem overemotional and self centered. These reasons also all center her or the desire for her love and adoration rather than his feelings as her partner. That’s what’s highlighted in Season 4.

But the actual legit criticism and bone to be picked with Ladybug herself does not come out of his mouth until he is under Risk's influence. Even then, it’s a one-liner. I don’t remember him ever actually trying to touch on the real problem with her prior to that. He either smiles and shrugs it off, even when she asks if he is ok, or he lashes out and runs away. He doesn’t breach the topic and if he doesn’t communicate it, how can they work through it?

Kuro Neko was the perfect opportunity to have Adrien really vent, but the initial argument is a textbook miscommunication. He shows up smiling over his pain and cracking jokes. Therefore she doesn’t realize how upset he is. Then he pushes the subject even though she’s out of time and she snaps at him for not listening. Hurt, he snaps back and runs. Plagg blames it on heartbreak alone. Ladybug takes that bait and laments that there’s nothing she can do but dote on him a bit because hey he’s just heartbroken. She's not responsible for his unrequited love. At the end, he never mentions the legitimate issues and nothing is ever wrapped up. That’s where I start to think, did the writers even mean for him feeling diminished as a ‘partner’ to be a real issue? Did they intend for this to be a lovesick issue from the start?

I don’t think this is just on Ladybug being impossible to talk to because of some vibe she sends out or her making sad face. Chat Noir has been pretty cross with Ladybug before over other less justified matters and she didn’t crumble or smote him. She did throw him in the trash but that took 4 seasons of being calm and reasonable in the face of some behavior that wasn’t always great on his part. He is usually the one supporting her, but she managed not to meltdown while he was struggling in Guilttrip and Reverser and support him. She’s not glass and she’s not his father and I think he knows that on some level. I think his lack of communication is partially his upbringing.

I think a decent percentage of the rage at LB in Season 4 is made more intense and inflated in combination with all those other factors. We as the viewers know Adrien's trauma, how starved for love he is, what little support system he has vs the act he puts on as both Adrien and Chat Noir. We know too the meta fact that the writers never allowed CN the dignity to be rightfully upset about it or voice his most valid displeasure at anytime except when he was under the influence of a villain.

Taking the show at surface level, I can see him forgiving her. I just wished they had talked about it. Adrien isn't helpless in the face of Ladybug. He's faced Gabriel. He went to school and told him he didn't want to model and opened up about feeling like his father never wants to talk to him. so I know he can be more honest with Ladybug without a villain spell. The only reason I can think of it never reaching that point is because the writers didn't want it to. Not only do I think that he would have expressed himself well and honestly enough if given the moment, but I think there’s a good chance Ladybug would have tried to fix things if she actually knew what he was upset about and didn't reduce it to 'he's in love with me.' Which I can't completely blame her for. She had help from both Plagg and Adrien.

I really miss early Adrien anyhow. He took a lot more flack then because he messed up more because he actually had a personality that allowed him to disagree and have sassy moments. Sometimes he was right, sometimes wrong, but at least he felt more layered.

Whew, this is a long ask! I'll take this part by part.

The thing is, I don't want him to turn his back on Ladybug in Strikeback. I've said before that I love that scene. What spoils is for me is that the conflict is never addressed after that episode, and it just makes it come off as Chat Noir pushing away his hurt to be there for Ladybug once more. Like he just accepted that he'll be treated in ways he doesn't like. The scene in isolation is one of my favorites, but it's how the aftermath was dealt with that makes it bad.

You're partially right. He doesn't really try to actually talk with her until Risk/Strikeback. And part of this is because of his own trauma. But the other part of it is also because Ladybug has also become more and more unapproachable over the course of the season. When he does try to approach her in some way, he gets shut down.

You're pretty spot on about the other reasons for why he feels the way he does.

I agree that any resentment he feels for Fu not training him isn't Marinette's fault.

This is getting long, so I'll put the rest of it under the cut.

So, he isn't entitled to their identities. I personally think he would have been justified in wanting to know before Season 4, but it's not really that way anymore. But in any case, that isn't the issue. The issue is Ladybug playing loose and fast with the rules, allowing others to know their identities and even revealing her own identity to someone else while making sure that Chat Noir sticks to the rules. He has a right to be upset about that.

The point is that it shouldn't have become obsolete. She was going to do something awful to him. I don't think it should have been thrown aside. He should know about it. She's shown that she's willing to take advantage of his trust and she never actually learnt any lesson about not doing that or that it was wrong. He's entitled to information about her actions that could potentially have harmed him. That's something she should admit to.

I think the reason for this is clear in your own next paragraph. I will say again that him cutting ties with her in Strikeback is not something that I want.

And that's exactly it. The season spends so many episodes building up this conflict between them, building up Ladybug's secret keeping and Chat Noir's increasing resentment and insecurity over the fact, and then... reduces it to him being in love with her. There are plenty of valid reasons for him to be angry with her, but Kuro Neko, the episode where the Ladynoir conflict is supposedly at an end, tells us that the reason for all this is because "Chat Noir is in love with Ladybug." I call BS.

It's a severe flaw in the writing. They reduce the conflict down to being about Chat Noir being in love with Ladybug while brushing over everything else that was set up. Him being in love with her may have been a slight factor, but it was never the main problem. If he hadn't been in love with her, he would still have the right to be pissed. Reducing it down to him being in love with her reduces the whole conflict, and Kuro Neko actually ends with Adrien saying he was too sensitive (which is Gabe rhetoric) and him apologizing to her as though she did nothing wrong at all. Kuro Neko is just... a fucking awful episode.

And I think you've hit the nail right on the head. This is exactly the problem with Kuro Neko and Season 4 as a whole.

I do sort of disagree with Ladybug being approachable. I think Glaciator 2 did do some damage. See, it's always been their dynamic to banter and for Chat Noir to flirt. Ladybug herself has enjoyed their banter and has responded to his flirtatious comments with nothing more than a small roll of her eyes. When he does it at the wrong time, she tells him to cut it out and he does. Considering that, throwing him a trashcan is unnecessarily overblown. That's way out of line. It's clearly because she's stressed out and annoyed about the situation and because of everything else going on, but him never bringing up anything so as to not upset her is a pretty reasonable interpretation after that. And it does happen again in Kuro Neko. He offers to help, she snaps at him.

The situations with Guilttrip and others like it were when it wasn't about Ladybug. She is supportive of him and she does care for him, but it's always when it's not about her. When it is about her, she never actually puts in the effort to fix the problem and just smooths over the situation (Kuro Neko, Strikeback). Of course, a lot of his lack of communication is due to his upbringing, but Ladybug is also visibly more unapproachable now.

But mostly, he's just written to undermine himself. Ladybug isn’t the only voice box for the writers. Adrien is too. Everyone in the show works to serve a particular narrative so it’s no wonder that his most valid complaint against Ladybug in Season 4 was buried under all of the less noble ones, even from his own lips. He needed Risk just to confront her on the part she was actually responsible for. Odd choice. I guess he wouldn’t have been the perfect boyfriend if he did it without Risk? Maybe that’s just me being wishful about the blorbos, but my early season blorbos are better than their later season counterparts. The latter just seem like shills for a plot that doesn't match them. I really miss early Adrien anyhow. He took a lot more flack then because he messed up more because he actually had a personality that allowed him to disagree and have sassy moments. I will say that Miraculous trying to make the switch from a monster-of-the-week type of show to having an overarching plot was an ambitious choice, but it did not work out well, for reasons you've mentioned here.

I will also say, when I criticize Marinette, it isn't often Marinette herself that I criticize but the writing around her. The sort of writing that involves other characters bending over so that she doesn't look bad, or Adrien being reduced to her emotional support partner who doesn't demand a thing from her. That's ultimately what Season 4 had him learn, that he isn't and never will be her equal and that he should just be okay with whatever she does. And since Adrien character is that of the abuse victim who has never been allowed to be his own person, it just paints a very nasty picture. So, I think we do largely agree on many things, anon.

Souma: I heard that you are facing a predicament, is this true?

Souma: If that is truly the case, then I offer my sincere apologies. Unaware of your suffering, I made small talk with you this morning.

Souma: But fear not. For I have now arrived to assist you…♪

Keito: … Kanzaki, what are you going on about?

Kuro: Haha. That's a terrible way of explainin' things, Kanzaki.

Keito: Kiryu, you're here too… Why don't you explain what's going on instead of this excited fellow?

Kuro: Sure. We were just chattin' with Mashiro…

[Ten Minutes Ago]

Tomoya: —So I was talking to Hasumi-senpai before the dress rehearsal earlier.

Tomoya: Even Hasumi-senpai has his own troubles, right? I was under the impression that he was kind of perfect, so it was a little surprising.

Souma: Hasumi-dono in trouble…?

Tomoya: Yeah. But I admire him for the way he tries to solve his problems independently. I wish I could be that sort of leader…

Kuro: You've got your own strengths, Mashiro. Ya don't have to be just like danna, yeah?

Kuro: Oh, Kanzaki, who're ya makin' a phone call to?

Souma: I am calling Hasumi-dono, but I hear a peculiar voice.

Kuro: What are ya talkin' about? Gimme your phone for a sec.

Kuro: …. Ah. That's the automated voice-mail. It plays when the person can't pick up their phone.

Kuro: It's kind of weird that his phone's switched off at this time of the day though? Let's check his schedule on 'Whole-Hands'.

Kuro: So, yeah. As soon as he heard that you were at COCHI, he started runnin'.

Keito: I didn't receive any calls though? … Mm.

Keito: … Sorry, Kanzaki. It seems I left my phone switched off after the play.

Souma: No. In the end, I was able to meet with Hasumi-dono in person, so all is well.

Souma: However, I am still concerned about this 'trouble' of yours. Will you not confide in us?

Keito: It isn't anything huge. I simply haven't figured out what to do about my 'Feature Live' yet.

Souma: Then you may rely on us! Surely, if the three of us share our wisdom amongst ourselves, then a path shall be cleared for us!

Kuro: I dunno about that… It's not like he asked for our help, and it's a solo show too. Hey, Hasumi danna?

Keito: Ah, well. Kanzaki's feelings do make me happy… Hm? What's the matter, Anzu?

Keito: I could have both of them help me if I needed it?

Keito: That's right…

Keito: ……

Keito: … Kanzaki, Kiryu. Let's go on an outing together.

Keito: If I'm with you guys, I'll definitely be able to show Anzu the 'Natural' side of me she's looking for… ♪

[Some time later]

Kuro: … Walkin' around like this brings back memories from last year. Hasumi, do ya remember?

Keito: Yes. Time passed quickly, it's been over a year since then.

Keito: … Seems you're curious about what happened back then, Anzu? Well, you were partly involved.

Keito: It was shortly after the end of the 'Halloween Party'. You came to the Student Council Office and told me that "The interview you submitted to the magazine was returned."

Keito: They had wanted a more unexpected set of answers, so I decided to go downtown, a place I usually don't frequent, and I happened to meet with these two by chance.

Keito: The rest is as I mentioned in my interview answers. I played games at the arcade, and went shopping for stationery.

Keito: … By the way, Kanzaki. Why are you fidgeting around over there?

Souma: I have a place that I would like to go with Hasumi-dono and everyone else. But since this is related to Hasumi-dono's work…

Keito: You're holding yourself back, right? That is unnecessary, we can go wherever you want to take me.

Souma: Hasumi-dono… Then, with the encouragement from your kind words…

Souma: I would like to go to that 'Tapiohka' shop!

Kuro: Tapioca shop… Huh. I didn't know that place was still around.

Souma: Fufu. It has been a dream of mine to visit this shop with Hasumi-dono and Kiryu-dono again ♪

Souma: … Ah, right. I shall present this 'sutampu kaado' to you, Hasumi-dono!

Keito: 'Get extra tapioca pearls in your drink for free after you've accumulated 30 points' … Did you save these up all on your own?

Souma: I was able to accumulate them by visiting on my own, as well as with the aid of my schoolmates.

Souma: If it is of any help with the photos for the 'pamfureto', it would make me happy…♪

Keito: Just the normal amount of tapioca pearls is enough though…

Kuro: Well, we can’t just ignore Kanzaki’s kindness now, can we? So, I’ll be borrowin’ that stamp card.

Kuro: Clerk, we'd like four drinks with tapioca pearls please. Add extra pearls to one of 'em.

Kuro: What's wrong? Is somethin' the matter little miss? “I'm just the photographer”? Don't say that, wouldn't feel right if you were the only one without a drink.

Kuro: Here ya go Hasumi, your very special tapioca drink.

Keito: Whoa, It's heavy....

Keito: .......

Souma: Hasumi-dono, how does it taste?

Keito: ...You could hardly call this a drink. No matter how much I chew, the quantity of pearls just doesn't decrease.

Kuro: ......♪

Keito: Kiryu, don't just stare at me with that warm and fuzzy gaze. Anzu, you too, don't take pictures so happily.

Keito: … No, feel free to take pictures to your heart’s content. I just remembered Kanzaki’s diligent efforts.

Keito: “I’m sure the fans will love it,” you say? … Hmph, they had better.

Keito: I wouldn’t show a stranger this side of me.

Cue shocked Rollo!!

Cue happy and giggling Livia!

"LIVIA??!" "HIIIII!"

He's surprised to see her here, especially in the schools uniform

Hes not complaining!! He's glad he's able to keep an eye on her

He greets her and pats her head

Livia just giggles and grabs his hand, keeping his hand on her head

Rollos vice president is shocked by the warm smile on Rollos face

Rumors start to spread about Rollo and Livias relationship

Rollo shut them down so fast, glaring at everyone who spoke of the rumor

He was NOT gonna allow absolutely ANYONE ruin Livias school years here

Livia attends the school with Elikai and Barin

They were so happy, although surprised, to see her here

The trio hugged tightly which made Rollo jealous

"Hey little sis." "Hey big brothers!!"

Both boys got letters from Lilia, reminding them to keep their eyes on her

Keep their eyes on her they did

Livia got a private room right across from theirs

They always come bother her after school as well

Livia is ecstatic about being in this school with her two brothers and her best friend!

She follows Rollo around, which shocks most of the students

It stuns them when they see Rollo carelessly smiling during these times as well

He knows he has a reputation to uphold, but being around Livia just makes him automatically smile

Rollo always helps her study, making sure she can understand the work

"You understand the potion now?" "Yes, thank you!" "Anytime...."

He lets her take breaks, bringing her something to drink and a snack

Very surprised with hardworking she was, but was proud

He's fidgety after he's done helping her

Pats her head when she gets high marks on her homework

"Rollo, look!!" "Amazing, great job"

He's always the first person she shows her graded work too

Cue jealous Elikai and Barin in the background

Silver comes to visit, which is actually where Rollo first meets him

He mistook Silver as Livias boyfriend and tried to scare him off

He did not need any boys besides Elikai and Barin surrounding his best friend

"Get outta here before I drag you out myself." "What....?"

Silver is somewhat offended but Livia arrives in time before anything major happened

Livia explains that Silver is her brother, sending Rollo into silent flustered panic

Rollo apologizes, albeit begrudgingly, to Silver

Livias family isn't able to visit as much, so she usually mirror calls them

Malleus always greets her with a smile on his face, although she can tell he's worried

Nex and Vex congratulate her on getting into a good school

Lilia is worried sick about her being so far from him, and asks her endlessly if she has everything she needs

"Allergy medicine??! Your stuffed panda?! Your favorite blanket! Do you have it all??!!" "Yes, yes, I have it..."

Silver and Kuro have to calm their father before he fainted from not breathing because he was speaking so much

Golden gets the low down from Livia of everything that happened in the school before their call

Shadow is VERY twitchy, since he's never been this far from Livia before and even further since she's at NBC

Maria always checks up on Livia, even scolding her at times

Rollo is always walking around in the background of the call

None of them saw his face though

His back was turned to them because he was looking at Livias assigned homework

"Liv who's that?" "My best friend! He's helping with homework!"

Nobody and I mean NOBODY approaches Livia with bad intentions

Rollo made that perfectly clear to everybody in the school

Everyone knows how protective Rollo is of Livia

Only once did some students approach her with bad intentions

They told her that Rollo was in trouble in the tunnel system

She rushed there only to find nothing

...a statue was pushed down onto her, pinning her underneath it and practically crushing her

Rollo noticed she didn't arrive for their study time

Nobody knew where she was, whenever he asked they just shook their heads

Rollo almost snaps from worry, sending students to search for her

His vice president found Livia, who had a sprained wrist and a broken leg

Livia had blasted the statue to smithereens and tried to walk but fell over

So they found her laying faced down on the ground

For the first time everyone saw Rollo loose his cool

He SNAPPED and demanded for the guilty party to come clean

"WHO??!!!! WHO DID THIS COME FORTH NOW!!!!!" "President, please relax!!"

Elikai had to calm the angry male down

Barin used a spell to check Livias memories while she was out cold

The culprits were found in no less than a ten minutes

When Rollo was done with them they apologized to Livia

Afterwards they avoided her like the plague

Rollo takes Livia to the town after she's better

He has her try all kinds of sweet treats and shows her some of the items there

Livia is so happy about being in the City of Flowers with him

When Rollo invites students from NRC to visit, Livia is present and greets everyone

Malleus, Silver and Sebek are the most happy to see her

Silvers happiness didn't surprise Rollo, but Malleus and Sebeks happiness did

She's present for everything except the flowers appearing

Rollo had placed her into a temporary sleeping state and hid her in the student council room

He didn't want the blessing given to him be taken away

The boys found her there sleeping soundly, wrapped up in a comfy blanket

Malleus did not take it well..

He immediately woke her up without thinking and told her what was happening

Livia was forced to wait in the room while they stopped Rollo

At the end of it, Livia runs over to Rollo and hugs him

He's confused and asks her why she's not mad at him

She replies telling him that she's just relieved he's okay

"As long as you're alive, I'm not mad!" "Liv..."

Things mostly go back to normal, but Livia started helping Rollo out with Council stuff

She was shocked when she got a mysterious letter telling her that Malleus had overblotted

A theory I’ve had after pondering the whole “Ladybug is pushing Chat away! She’s neglecting him!” nonsense, which was always so silly to me because - if anything - Season 4 has shilled more for Chat Noir than even past seasons.

Going off of Season 4, we can see Ladybug:

1 - trust Alya with her identity (unknown if she would’ve picked differently had she had more choice/wasn’t on the verge of a mental breakdown)

2 - inviting other heroes to fight more (unknown if it’s to serve as a replacement for Chat not being around or because she genuinely thinks they’ll be needed)

3 - been put in helpless positions that require someone to save her without Chat Noir’s assistance (”Optigami” where Adrien was taken outside and “Sentibubbler” where Rena insisted that it was a two-person plan) or done everything completely on her own (”Glaciator 2″)

What you’ll notice right away are the big unknowns of it all. Even though we know that Marinette has trauma from “Chat Blanc,” she’s never stated directly to anyone that she’s been purposefully leaving Chat Noir out of things. At best, she’s doing it unconsciously. She’s also complimented, reassured, and stood up for him multiple times over the course of Season 4 (”Truth,” “Guiltrip,” “Hack-San,” “Ephemeral”) with all those examples being pre-”Kuro Neko.”

This leaves room for guessing games and the only one who can play them is Chat Noir, a biased party who believes that Ladybug is slighting him/doesn’t care about him (again, “Hack-San,” and soon after the scene where Marinette was texting Alya about how to make Chat happy) because he’s not “””in the loop.””” Because Ladybug doesn’t voice anything on the matter and everyone except Adrien (and Plagg to some extent) think this is a thing that’s happening, Adrien is the only one that the audience gets to hear talk about the subject.

Thus, because Chat is “””left out of the loop,””” the audience is led to feel a similar impression that that’s what Ladybug’s doing. Circumstances such as “Sentibubbler” with Rena’s plan (which Rena told Chat was Ladybug’s so Chat already has false information) were completely out of Ladybug’s control but the audience is more likely to blame her because Chat is blaming her.

Chat, as far as I can see, has not been “neglected” by Ladybug, but people feel that way because that’s Adrien’s biased opinion of it and the only thing they have to go off of. Even with Ladybug bringing in extra heroes, she literally can’t call Chat Noir in the way she calls them, which she has stressed before (”Silencer” also proved that her texts only get to him after he’s transformed). In addition, Chat Noir has been taken out/not shown up to fights in ways that have nothing to do with her (”Mr. Pigeon 72” and “Ephemeral”), but because he’s getting less screen time as Chat, the audience is convinced that this is a thing that’s happening and the only one to blame in that case is Ladybug.

Same thing with Alya knowing Marinette’s identity. Ladybug isn’t keeping things from Chat more than before, it’s just that she’s sharing information with someone else, and likewise with sharing hero work.

She’s not relying on Chat less; she’s relying on everyone else more.

Weaving Stars // Chapter 1

Fandom: Servamp Ship: KuroMahi Characters: Kuro, Mahiru

Summary: Mahiru is a deity who weaves constellations in the night sky. He feels isolated working alone at his loom but then he meets a shepherd. His title is higher than Kuro’s but Mahiru falls in love with him. (KuroMahi, Tanabata AU)

Mahiru’s fingers ached after hours of weaving. He carefully eased the shuttle though the vertical yarns of the warp and he created another layer of the Leo constellation. His movements were swift and fluid from centuries of practise. He was the son of sky deities and Mahiru inherited the title Constellation Weaver. He created tapestries and hanged them in the night sky.

While Mahiru loved weaving and creating constellations, it was lonely at his loom. He moved his equipment to the Milky Way with the hope that the fresh air would help him feel less isolated as he worked. The sound of nature—the flowing water and grazing sheep—surrounded him. However, the ethereal scenery only made him feel more separated from the world. Others would say he was blessed to be a deity but there were times he wished he was a simple human.

There was a slight tug on his sleeve and it startled him. Mahiru was certain that he was alone in his garden and only a few people could enter his garden. He looked down and found a sheep chewing on his cloves. Worried that it would also try to eat the constellation he was creating, he set down his shuttle and tried to lead it away from his loom.

“How did you wander all the way here? Your owner should still be nearby so let’s go find them.” Mahiru was a deity and he had a connection to animals. He wasn’t able to speak with them but his powers should sway the sheep to follow him. To his confusion, the sheep ignored him and walked past him to examine his loom. He placed himself in front of the loom to keep it from damaging the sacred item.

“Youko, where are you?” A voice in the distance reached them and the sheep immediately ran towards it. Mahiru became curious about who could sway the animal more than a god and he followed the voice. He walked along the river and he thought he saw a cloud. Once he was closer, he realized that the cloud was a herd of sheep. A handsome man stood in the center and Mahiru reasoned he was the shepherd.

The shepherd noticed him approach and he tried to step out of the flock to greet him. The sheep continued to crowd him and Mahiru didn’t know if it was right to giggle at the sight. He lifted his robe and he made his way through the sheep to meet him halfway. “Thank you for bringing Youko back. It would be troublesome if he went into the garden and ate the flowers. I never seen you before. Are you a new star? My name is Kuro.”

“I am Mahiru…” He trailed off before he could give Kuro his full name and title. Even when he was a child, he saw how people would treat him differently after they discovered he was a deity. Mahiru could sense that Kuro was immortal but he was a shepherd for the night sky. Their stations were different and they would never meet under normal circumstances.

The chanced meeting could be a blessing for Mahiru though. He looked down at his feet and lied. “I’m a servant of the Constellation Weaver and I was working in the garden where I found Youko. Your sheep must’ve entered the garden to graze. You can bring your herd inside to eat the grass and drink from the Milky Way. That will help their coat become beautiful.”

“Wouldn’t the Shirota family be angry if you let us into their garden?” Kuro hesitated to accept his offer and Mahiru sensed his feelings.

“Don’t fret. I assure you that their first son will not punish you for entering the garden. He creates tapestries and embroideries with the yarn your sheep provide. Allowing the flock to graze in the garden will benefit everyone.” Mahiru told him. He took his hand and smiled to reassure him. They lived in the starry sky yet Kuro had never seen anything as bright as his smile. “I would like to have someone to talk to while I work. It gets really quiet.”

Kuro saw how his expression became shadowed by loneliness. They were strangers yet he felt something tug at his heart and he wanted to help Mahiru. He nodded and stepped towards the garden. “I have the opposite problem. My home is noisy because I live with seven siblings and then I have to take care of these sheep. It’ll be great to relax in the garden.”

“Why does it sound like you’re expecting me to do your job for you and talk to the sheep while you relax in the garden? Each of us have a role in the heavens.” Mahiru lightly lectured Kuro and petted the sheep standing between them. “It’s not good to be lazy and these little guys need someone to watch over them.”

“The heavens may have assigned me the role of shepherd but that doesn’t mean I can’t do something for myself.” He shrugged. Mahiru’s father had raised him to weave constellations and he was never given the opportunity to choose his own path. He wondered if he was wrong as he saw a small smile spread across Kuro’s lips. “Though, this job is perfect for me. There’s nothing better to use as a pillow than a sheep.”

“Well, I’m not going to allow you to sleep during work.” Mahiru took his hand and pulled him into the garden. The sheep trailed after them and their silver wool created the image of stardust from a distance.

Mahiru completed his next blanket as quickly as he could so he would be able to enjoy the afternoon with Kuro. Since they first met, he invited him into his private garden every day. They would simply talk as he sat at his loom and weave stars. He wanted the chance to face him as they spoke rather than staring at strings. He loved weaving but there was something in Kuro’s red eyes that gave him inspiration to create new constellations.

Mahiru sat against a tree with Kuro sleeping on his lap. The blanket that he had recently finished was draped over his shoulders. He fondly stroked his hair and he thought its light colour complimented the blanket like the moon to the stars. His sheep sat around them and Mahiru worried that he would be overheated. He placed the blanket over him for warmth but he didn’t consider how warm being surrounded by wolves would be. He used his power to create a cool breeze.

The wind against Kuro’s cheek woke him and he opened his eyes. He couldn’t stretch his stiff arms due to the wall of sheep next to him. Even if he could, he wouldn’t want to move off Mahiru’s comfortable lap. He yawned and rubbed his eyes. “I’m sorry I fell asleep. We agreed to finish work early so we can actually spend time together. I had to stay up late to protect the sheep and I ended up sleeping here.”

“I understand, Kuro. My father told me that there has been an increase in wolves and the shepherds are required to work longer. There are bags under your eyes and you probably haven’t had enough sleep in a while. Oh, I have a present for you that might help.” Mahiru patted his shoulder and signalled for him to sit up. The sheep moved so he had more room to stand.

Mahiru rose yet he found that his legs felt unstable because Kuro had been sleeping on it. Youko noticed him start to stumble and the sheep darted forward to help him. In the sheep’s haste, it crashed into him and threw him off balance. Kuro caught Mahiru’s wrist and pulled him back. Mahiru fell into his arms and the sheep crowding them caused them to be closer. His heart fluttered and he became breathless.

He had pictured himself in his embrace before but those were daydreams. Kuro only held him for a moment before he dropped his arms from his waist. His warmth lingered though. “Sorry, these sheep aren’t well trained. You probably know that since Youko went into the garden of the sky deities.”

Mahiru could only laugh nervously at the mention of his family. He kept his true identity a secret from Kuro for months. While he felt guilty for lying to him, he didn’t know how to tell him that he was a deity and they were forbidden from interacting. They couldn’t be friends or the lovers he yearned to be. Despite that, Mahiru couldn’t let go of the moments of freedom Kuro gave him.

He shook those thoughts from his mind and told himself to not linger on their different stations. Mahiru walked to his loom and he picked up the present box he had hidden there earlier. He turned to Kuro and smiled nervously. His cheeks felt warm and he hoped that it wasn’t too obvious that he was blushing. “Can you take off your white cloak and close your eyes?”

Kuro nodded and he followed his instructions. He assumed that Mahiru made him a new cloak but he didn’t know how it would help him with the sheep. A warmth fell over him and thick fur brushed over his cheek as Mahiru adjusted the hood over his head. He heard Mahiru take a step back and he said, “Open your eyes.”

After he opened his eyes, he found that he had a long jacket hanging from his shoulders. The jacket was made from blue cloth and he recognized Mahiru’s stitching. Kuro slipped his arms through the sleeves and he walked to the river to see the jacket fully. The fur lining on the hood were similar to wolf ears. Mahiru stood next to him and he could see his proud smile in his reflection.

“Usually, I only make fabrics, blankets or tapestries. This is the first time that I tried to make clothes for someone and it turned out better than I thought it would. I wanted to give the hood ears so you will look like a lion. The wolves won’t attack the sheep if they think a lion is protecting them. Though, you’ll have to tell your siblings about this plan so they won’t think you’re a lion attacking the sheep.”

“Thank you, Mahiru. This is great.” Kuro hugged him. Mahiru had created constellations that were admired by millions yet those praises didn’t make him as happy as Kuro’s words now. He returned his hug and buried his face into his chest. He never wanted to leave the haven of his arms. Then, Kuro said: “I have a gift for you too. I was going to give it to you later but this seems like a good time too.”

“You didn’t need to give me anything.” Mahiru said.

“Well, you gave me this jacket.” Kuro let him go. He took Mahiru’s hand and gently tugged him towards the gate. “Humans are holding a festival below. Do you want to go to the festival with me?”

“A festival?” Mahiru had watched humans and festivals from where he wove stars in the sky but he could never walk among them. For a brief moment, he was tempted to go with him and he searched for reasons he could. His father was away from their palace so he wouldn’t discover that he left the sky for a night. He chewed on his lower lip and then asked, “What about our duties?”

“I asked my friend to watch over them while I take you to Earth. Gear is such a cruel friend because he only agreed after I took over three of his shifts.” Kuro chuckled. He squeezed Mahiru’s hand tenderly and reassured him. “You said that you’ve never left this garden before. I want to show you the world. The Heavens won’t miss two servants for a single night.”

“I would love to see the lanterns and fireworks in person.” Mahiru decided to take the risk with Kuro. He took Kuro’s white robe and wore it himself. It wasn’t an elaborate disguise but it should keep him from being recognized. “Let’s go.”

[Here's the follow up to "Strawberry Madeleine" I said I'd do! 🥳 Feat: Tsurugi getting all the presents. All of them. And a very special gift from Freya.]

Tsurugi can’t remember the last time he was so excited for his birthday.

Actually, that’s a lie. He absolutely can. The last time was when he turned twenty and had gone out, ID in hand and stupid grin on his face, to buy as much beer as Yumikage’s credit card could handle as the first official adult of their little trio (or as much as the clerk would let him purchase). Two bikes, three idiots, and three cases of cheap beer, all pedaling towards the ocean on a beautiful, moonlit night, not a cloud in the sky.

The only thing that had dampened his mood then was the heat of Yumikage’s back against his as he stared up at the sky, at the moon, and recalled the promise he had asked his friend to make, and the offer of freedom he had turned down.

Neither of those things were a problem anymore.

Never again would Hod have to worry over killing Baldr to save him from himself.

The venue is, of course, Yumikage’s apartment. The walls are thick, the living room is large, and there’s no one there but him to bother if they get rowdy (aside from the neighbors, but Tsurugi never cared much for what they thought).

Most importantly, though, it’s a familiar place. Every year, ever since Yumikage started living in the high end apartments, each of them would have their birthday there. It was also the place Tsurugi went to when he no longer had a home, his best friend opening his own to him, and Tsurugi had felt so guilty, had been so worried, about what that change would mean for them.

As it turned out... It didn’t mean much at all.

Of course, with his weird sense of boundaries and how touchy he can get with people he likes, other people might not agree. --Especially when he and Yumikage still shared a bed.

All the guests had arrived. First, of course, were Jun, Takuto, and surprisingly, Jun’s parents. Tsurugi had hefted Takuto onto his hip, chirping at them all to come in, and led them to the living room where they had prepared snacks, drinks, big, big bowls of pretty much everything you would need for a party. Chips and dips and little trays of veggies, big two liters of soda and a store bought cake chilling in the fridge, hard candies and caramels, even a crummy cheese platter with little tiny sausages and crackers.

Next had been Freya, Iduna, and the two subclasses Takuto had taken to calling his uncles, much to their delight. Opening the door, he’d been met with three party poppers being set off in his face, Iduna, Gil, and Ray shouting their congratulations at him while he had stood there, stunned, trying to process the colorful streamers and confetti now decorating his head, shoulders, and the entry hall. Soon, though, he was laughing, dragging them all in by the arms while Freya shook her head and tried not to look too fond, a gentle scolding on her lips while C3’s ace inventor promised to clean up the mess herself.

Four presents joined the pile, and four more members of his family joined the festivities.

Finally came the Sloth pair, Kuro and Mahiru, and the gift he had been told to open immediately. The one that almost made him cry. So small, so little, so… Perfect.

Turning to bring them back to the group, Tsurugi thought to himself, All these people… Are happy I was born.

At that point, the tears he had been holding back started to overflow, quickly dripping down his face and onto the floor, much to the Sloth pair’s worry. Even Kuro, as blank faced as he normally kept himself, was clearly startled. Clearly worried. About him.

It only made the tears come faster.

“Uwah! Tsurugi-san?! Why are you crying!”

A watery laugh, quickly wiping his face on the back of his hand while Mahiru crowded closer to fuss. “I’m just glad you’re all here is all…!”

Ah. How embarrassing.

As it turned out, they didn’t need that second, store bought cake at all. The one Mahiru had brought with him, had made himself from scratch, was more than enough. There were even leftovers, sitting happily in Yumikage’s fridge and waiting to be devoured the next day.

And, of course, after cake came presents.

Jun’s parents had given him a new set of chopsticks, glossy black ones patterned with colorful paper cranes, and a matching paper crane shaped ceramic rest to go with them. From Gil and Ray, he’d received a new wallet, smelling of leather and, frankly, making him too nervous to ask if it was genuine or not. Such an expensive gift was… Not something he deserved, he felt, but he’d accept it gratefully nonetheless. From Takuto, he’d gotten the most adorable little wolf themed coin purse, as well as a handmade card. Jun gave him a new to go mug. Yumikage had grinned, sliding him a little box containing earrings that sparkled and showe and Tsurugi very nearly leapt at him if it weren’t for his idiot friend clarifying “They’re fake, dumbass. You like sparkly stuff though, right?”

“Don’t scare me like that!” he had complained, swatting Yumikage on the chest while the other man had snickered to himself. Really, he should have known better.

And now, he is here, with Iduna thrusting a misshapen gift into his arms with the biggest, most excited grin.

… He hopes it doesn’t blow up.

Tearing the bright, shiny paper away reveals a pillow shaped like a strawberry, red fading into pink and green leaves at the top. The smell immediately slaps him in the face and he wastes no time burying himself in it, a reverent, “It’s so soft…!” on his lips that make the people around him giggle. “Jun-chan, feel how soft it is!”

“I modified a pillow I bought for you!” Iduna gushes, and Tsurugi’s attention snaps to her, her cheeks just as rosy as his no doubt are with elation. “Freya helped me add a little pocket with velcro so I could put a scent pack inside! Also it’s made with memory foam so you can squish it as much as you want and it’ll always go back to it’s proper shape! Oh, and, here’s the remote, cuz I added a temperature change feature, too, so it’s never too hot or too cold and…” A hand on her shoulder has her chattering trailing off and she peeks at Ray, who seems to be holding back laughter. “Ah, oops! Sorry...” A sheepish chuckle, the girl wilting ever so slightly. “I just got so excited from your reaction…”

“I love it,” Tsurugi assures her, squeezing the gift tight. “Iduna-chan’s so smart! I’d be excited to give this to somebody, too!”

Iduna perks up once more, back to her beaming smile, and Freya… Nudges her present forward. For some reason, she looks nervous, and Tsurugi reaches for it curiously.

“Lately, I’ve been… Looking into making jewelry,” she explains, arms folded across her chest and black gloved fingers digging into her skin, awaiting Tsurugi’s response as he slides back the cover on the box. “Iduna showed me how to work with some of her tools, like things for cutting metal…”

“Freya…” Tsurugi breathes, cutting what he now realizes are anxious ramblings over having an overlapping gift short, “You made these?” In that little aqua colored box, with its white ribbon and bow so cutely done on top, are a set of earrings. Where Yumikage’s had been studs, these would dangle, little seashells carefully connected to ribbon by a simple loop of gold and a single bead, the same yellow as his eyes. Picking one up, the deep, navy colored ribbons, satin finish, flutter delicately. “They’re beautiful…”

He glances away from his gift just in time to see Freya start to turn pink. He swallows, wets his lips, and carefully, carefully, brings the box closer to his chest. “I can really have this? Like, really really?”

“Of course you can,” Freya answers, relaxing ever so slightly. “I made them for you.”

Right. That’s right. These were… Made especially for him. Him, Kamiya Tsurugi, twenty seven years old today. This gift… Is his. It’s his alone.

… Oh. That’s right. Back then… Freya had asked for…

I don’t have anything I can give to you…

You have two of these. Maybe you can give me one.

We… Except this body… Have nothing else to call our own. Aside from that… There is nothing I can offer.

In this world… Exists things that you should share and bear the burden of with other people, as well as things you yourself must treasure. You must… Understand which is which.

A… Are you angry...?

Back then, he had told her… That he had given up. Back then, what she had wanted… Was for him to take her hand. In the end... He hadn't. But they were happy.

“... Freya. Are you proud of me? I finally… Grew up!” I finally got angry. I finally fought back.

“... I am. Very, very, proud.”

Is it weird to you that Snake has not brought up the Circus gang in quite some time? He seemed to believe O!Ciel's lie that the other members were still alive and O!Ciel was looking for them. I have a few thoughts as to why Snake hasn't pressed O!Ciel and Sebastian about the circus:

1) Snake is feeling secure for the first time in his life and knows he is protected and has access to life-sustaining resources at the Phantomhive manor. He doesn't want to entertain his doubts and avoids asking questions or mentioning the Circus members out of fear that he will both lose them and his new life simultaneously.

2) He knows Ciel lied but hasn't confronted him because of reason 1 and/or he is plotting his own revenge.

3) Or this could be a much simpler situation, where he feels like he does not have the status as a servant to approach Ciel, his employer, in such a manner.

Either way, Snake is somewhat of a "weak link" in the loyalty of Phantomhive servants. O!Ciel invited Snake to stay with him after a huge lie that was told to prevent Snake from murdering him. I theorize that R!Ciel will try to bring Snake over to his team. This could be done by reanimating one or more of the circus members, which could be either of R!Ciel's lords.

What are your thoughts?

Yeah I do find that noteworthy that Snake hasn’t at any point brought his old family up to anyone at all. To be entirely honest with you, I think the main reason he hasn’t done so is because PLOT. Yana is great, but not infallible to such “sshhhh, laaaaaaater....!!” actions.

As for your hypotheses; all very interesting!

Now, 🤔 what are my thoughts you ask... Out of the three, I personally think that if we need to consider in-story why Snake hasn’t addressed the issue (other than PLOT), it’s probably number 1 that is the most probable. What also might support this hypothesis of yours is that Snake probably has next to no social skills or trained judgement of people.

Before he was adopted by his circus family, he wasn’t even treated as a person. He was just “Snakeman”. How do you acquire any skills for interaction or judgement of people in such circumstances? As “Snakeman” he would only have learnt distrust and antagonism. Once adopted he was surrounded by people who were only 100% loving of him. This would surely only have taught Snake to think in black and white.

Understanding the countless layers between “good” and “bad” is a skill that needs to be honed; it’s not inborn. Understanding “hidden malign” or “conditional good will” is also an incredibly advanced skill. I doubt Snake has had the opportunity of learning and applying these skills.

Assuming the hypothesis to be correct that Snake never had the chance of unlearning black and white thinking, all he’d know from O!Ciel is that just like his trusted family, “Smile” also offered him a family and home. His old family who did that was therefore “good”, so “O!Ciel” who did the same is therefore also “good”.

“How could someone who is “good” do anything bad?” It may seem obvious this is BS when you’re an outsider, but one must never forget in real life many people have trouble seeing those who they consider good and trustworthy are capable of doing bad things.

Now about O!Ciel’s lie. I personally don’t think O!Ciel lied to Snake about wanting to relocate the “missing” circus members to prevent Snake from murdering him. I mean, Sebas could just make Snake vanish into thin air if he even so much as made an attempt. I think O!Ciel was just genuinely interested in Snake’s abilities as an enforcement to his private soldiers. The clear guilt he feels towards some circus members probably does also motivate the boy (subconsciously) to take care of Snake who really was innocent in Kelvin’s evil agenda.

About R!Ciel and Undertaker, yes using revived circus members would be a very macabre and interesting way to make Snake join their side, or at least make him leave O!Ciel. I don’t think any reviving is necessary because all Undertaker and R!Ciel would need to do is expose the truth to convince Snake... or just kill him (I don’t see how Snake would be of any added value to UT/R!Ciel). BUT, Kuro is a series that LOVES going that extra mile, and that’s why I love the series.

However, R!Ciel and UT would have to make do with just Peter and Wendy, and potentially Doll though. In this post I discussed whether it’s likely Undertaker would try to bait O!Ciel using revived Phantomhive members. At the time I forgot a detail, namely that Vincent and Rachel are reduced to ashes, so they can’t be revived no matter how good Undertaker would be at the skill. (So yes, long post short, “nope UT won’t” XD)

Back to the circus members. Joker, Beast and Dagger are all exploded/incinerated, so they’re out of the question. Judging from the head-sutures the head is necessary to create a Bizarre Doll. So Jumbo whose head got squashed by Finny is likewise no candidate.

We don’t know how Sebas killed Doll, so we don’t know whether her body is still in one piece. This means that only Wendy and Peter have the highest chance of being Bizarre Doll material.

you know what I can’t stop thinking? about the scars that Kurogane probably have on his back for protecting fai in Tokyo just hushushauh and thinking about fai’s reaction to it. maybe they are being intimate one day and fai notices them and goes completely still cause he can’t stop thinking about how Kuro was hurt protecting him and aaaa if you would like to make write a fic about it, I wouldn’t mind <3

Air blows through the open balcony doors, cool and sweet, bringing with it happy chatter and scents of pies, fruits, and fresh bread. A happy country now safe from harm meanders below, while inside the palace of Clow, wounds are tended to and hearts healed.

Fai hadn’t meant to follow Kurogane back to his room. They’d simply begun walking together after dinner, as natural as though they were attached at the hip, and both walked through Kurogane’s bedroom door without a thought. It wasn’t until Fai saw Kurogane’s bed that he remembered where he was and what he was doing and tried to politely slip out of the room.

“You can stay,” Kurogane had told him.

So he did.

Now, he sits on the edge of Kurogane’s bed, one leg crossed over the other, elbow resting on his knee and chin perched in his palm, watching the sun set outside the balcony doors. He sighs, content though the small breath makes his sore body ache. It was finally all over. He didn’t even know what to do with himself and this new life he’d been given. He lets himself not think about the future too much; he deserves the relaxation of shutting his brain off, he thinks.

Kurogane groans from where he is standing nearby. Fai peers over at him; the ninja is standing shirtless (Fai tries not to stare) with his right hand stretched over his left shoulder. There’s an empty space where his left arm should be, the prosthetic having gotten destroyed in their final battle, and the medics of Clow had provided some treatments for the pain in his tight muscles. Seemingly though, Kurogane is having issues applying said treatment.

He looks at Fai and lifts a brow. “Mind helping me out? I can’t reach the spot that’s really bugging me.”

Fai blinks, mildly surprised by the request, but nods and uncurls himself to stand and pad quietly across the room. Kurogane holds out his hand, allowing Fai to scoop off the unused ointment, then turns around. Fai’s body goes still.

Kurogane says something while pointing over his shoulder to where Fai should apply the ointment, but his words go unheard by Fai, his voice muffled like Fai is sinking under heavy water. Fai can’t breathe, either, his lungs full of that icy water, his throat choking on it until he’s drowning.

Under the warm, red-tinged light of the setting sun, Kurogane’s bared back shows off its multitude of scars. Fai had seen a few of them before throughout their travels, small ones scattered over his skin from previous battles, but now there are new ones. Large, horrible, painful scars that spread from hip to shoulder, that tell ghost stories of an awful memory. A grisly reminder of Fai’s own magic turned against him, of his own power shredding Kurogane’s back open as the man acted as a shield for Fai.

“Oi, mage. You okay?” Kurogane asks, his voice slowly breaking through the water.

Fai’s chest heaves with a new breath and he lifts his eyes; Kurogane is looking at him over his shoulder curiously. “I-I’m fine,” Fai breathes as he returns to his senses and carefully spreads the ointment over Kurogane’s left shoulder.

Don’t focus on the scars, he tells himself, just focus on helping Kurogane’s pain. Pain caused from his missing left arm, another scar, another sacrifice made in the name of Fai’s life.

Fai’s hand stops its careful movements, his fingers lingering over Kurogane’s skin. “Mage?” Kurogane asks again, quieter this time.

“I...” Fai’s fingers skirt lower, ghosting over the scars on Kurogane’s back like he’s afraid of hurting him. “I’m sorry.”

Fai watches that broad back expand with a deep breath, and then Kurogane turns around to look at him properly. “For what?” He asks quietly.

Fai keeps his eyes low. “Everything. I’m sorry for everything. Everything I did, and...” He gestures to Kurogane’s body, his eyes getting stuck on his left shoulder, the missing piece of him. “All the times you let yourself get hurt. For me.”

Kurogane doesn’t say anything in response. Instead, he turns back around and points over his shoulder. “Right here,” He instructs.

Fai’s brows furrow in confusion but, like he doesn’t know what else to do or say, he does as Kurogane says and begins rubbing the ointment in. They stand in silence for a few long moments as Fai works, his eyes drifting over the scars marring Kurogane’s back as his fingers press gently yet firmly into Kurogane’s muscle.

“I’m not accepting your apology ‘cause you don’t have anything to apologize for, you idiot,” Kurogane says suddenly. “None of this was your fault.”

“But my magic—” Fai tries to say.

“That wasn’t you,” Kurogane tells him.

Fai frowns. “Your arm—”

“Wasn’t you, either.”

Fai’s lips twist as something builds in his throat. “...That’s not the point.”

“Then what is the point?” Kurogane asks. “Little lower.”

Fai lowers his fingers and presses into that spot. Kurogane sighs a bit under the touch. “The point,” Fai continues. “Is that you got hurt for me.”

“That was my choice,” Kurogane says. “So why should you apologize for what I did?”

“It was because of me!” Fai says, his voice rising in frustration. “Because I was there, because you felt like you needed to—because you—”

“Because I what, mage?” Kurogane asks, but Fai’s voice dies in his throat, leaving him unable to answer. Instead, he focuses his attention back on massaging Kurogane’s shoulder, leaving Kurogane to answer for him. “I don’t do things I regret. Everything I did, I did because I wanted to. I didn’t want you to die, so I did what I had to. Nothin’ there for you to apologize for, got it?”

Fai sighs and rests his hand flat over Kurogane’s back, over the scars haunting him. Of course he knew that. Of course he knew, from that moment in Tokyo when Kurogane all but begged for Fai’s life, that Kurogane cared enough about him to sacrifice himself to keep Fai alive.

That he loved Fai.

“But can’t you just... let me anyway?” Fai pleads quietly.

“You can do whatever you want,” Kurogane responds. “Doesn’t mean I’ll accept your apology.”

Fai chuckles quietly at that and shakes his head. “Typical Kuro-sama.”

Kurogane turns around, hiding his back from Fai, and knocks his knuckles softly against the side of Fai’s head. “Thought your head wasn’t so thick these days. Guess I was wrong.”

Fai lifts his head to say a teasing retort, but his words get stuck in his throat when he sees the quiet smile on Kurogane’s lips, his eyes soft as they look at Fai. With his one hand he cups Fai’s cheek, smooths his thumb against the delicate skin under Fai’s left eye.

“I forgot to tell you before, but it’s good to see you with both eyes again,” Kurogane says quietly.

Fai smiles shakily. “I’ll make sure we get to Piffle as soon as we can so we can replace your arm,” He says. “And it’ll fit better this time. I promise.”

Kurogane nods at him, still smiling, and the two take a moment to simply exist there, in that moment and that space of just the two of them. Kurogane’s hand is warm against Fai’s cheek and Fai tries not to miss the touch too much when Kurogane eventually pulls away so he can turn to the nearby table to put away the jar of ointment.

“Um, do you need more?” Fai asks quickly. “I can keep going if it still hurts.”

Kurogane rolls his shoulder and shrugs. “Still a little sore I guess.”

“Maybe it’d be better if you lied down on the bed...?” Fai trails off as his words catch up to him, his face heating up as he realizes the... implication.

Kurogane, though, snorts in laughter and shakes his head. “Didn’t think you’d be so quick to get into my pants, mage.”

“I wasn’t trying!” Fai cries, but, never one to back down to such a challenge, slyly adds, “Unless, of course, you’re offering...”

Fai gets a face full of Kurogane’s shirt flung at him and laughter blooms between them in the quiet room. The scars will never fade for good, Fai realizes, but at least the pain will. And if he can help Kurogane through it, then maybe that will be enough.

So uh.. This is quite a long question, what if the 2ps (You may choose the characters for this scenario.) found out a friend of em is a vampire? What will they do? Whats their reaction?

2ps reacting to a vampire friend:

Allen: VISIBLY POGS, he thinks it's SO COOL !! He's a little bastard though so he'd probably joke around like "Ay wanna suck my blood ,':D", but he means well; He just finds you super fascinating!

Matt: Not that fazed. He thinks you're like a vampire bat. He also thinks you're immune to danger. You might want to inform him.

Francois: He doesn't care, but he is turned on. Unfortunate.

Oliver: At first, he's a bit concerned, thinking you may have been cursed! Then, he fears you might bite him. After getting used to the fact that you're just a normal vamp, he wants to know all about it! He'll ask Arthur if he knows anything about vampires (and will probably get told off), want to dress you up, he'll even offer to bake you treats with a little blood in them, if that's what you need.

Viktor: Asks you to turn him. Will get sad if you refuse.

Xiao: "So, can you like, snort blood? Or like, shoot it up? Can you fly? Turn invisible? So, what if I dragged you into sunlight? Would you go poof into dust?" Absolutely obnoxious, I would recommend not even telling him.

Luciano: Bluntly accepts the fact with an "Okay.", and goes back to work. He acts nonchalant and won't bring it up further, but will secretly be thinking about it all day. What are your capabilities? Could you cause harm? Do you drink blood, and if so, how much? How regularly? These questions will be burning in his mind, but he's too private to actually ask them.

Lutz: Essentially the same as Allen, except his first thoughts are the pervy ones, and the excitement comes after.

Kuro: Uh- I think Kuro may be a vampire himself, so he doesn't really care.

Gillen: He's a little shaken at first, knowing how Roland will react. (Because when you tell Gillen something, chances are, Roland will know too.) On top of that, he already has Roland pretending to be a vampire. At least he has a prior idea of what a human-vamp friendship is like.

Roland: Good luck with this one. He is ECSTATIC!!! Probably faints the first time you tell him. "Have my prayers been answered?? Or am I just the luckiest man on Earth??" Oh no, he just fell in love with you.

Egil: Asks you to start counting, because he is a fucking manchild. After he finishes the gimmicks, he'll ask to do something cliche, like walk around a graveyard at midnight.

Loki: Immediately asks you if fire hurts you, so he can stop using flammable shit around you. On Halloween, he goes all out. Dracula jack-o-lanterns, slow dancing to Thriller and Monster Mash, he'll even be down to do this all year. Dude loves fire. Dude loves jack-o-lanterns.

Magnus: Doubts you at first. "Vampires aren't real. 😐" You'll have to prove it to him, but he probably won't believe anything until you end up biting and/or turning him.

Thurston: "Um, okay? Get out, will you?" If you're his friend, you're probably the only one. And he has horrendous social skills. And he isn't the best person in the first place. He doesn't mean to be so dismissive and rude, but that's his default. He deeply regrets his words later.

Bernard: Immediate response is "YOOOOOOO!!!" Does laps around the room, then calms down and asks you to tell him the story from the very beginning; How did this start? What are the details? Does it last forever? Listens intently and is engaged in the conversation.

Hermes: Picks you up and RACES to his library, speedruns every book he owns in search for mythological vampires. He uses you as a fact-checker, and then criticizes the book for getting information wrong.

Caligula: "Alright." Man is probably a vampire too. Doesn't really care.

Germania: "Back in my time, we used to burn vampires at the stake! *cheerful laughter*" Then he realizes you're being serious. Awkward silence.

Franciszek: Puts 2 fingers on your neck for moment to feel for a pulse and the cold of your skin. Mildly intrigued.

Katya: Gleefully asks you to turn her! She mainly loves the aesthetic and glamour of vampires, and will use the new look to her advantage.

Anastasia: Smiles and says "Okay!" She asks what she can do for, such as safely collecting blood to sustain yourself, any redecorating in the house such as windows, curtains and mirrors, doing your makeup, reorganizing your schedule, etc.

Egor: This turbo virgin writes vampire fanfiction and will probably be gross about it. Same as Xiao, don't even tell him.

Raimonds: Laughs evilly because he thinks you'll be an evil, blood thirsty henchman for him. Smack him on the side of the head, he'll stop.

Leonas: Honestly, the Baltics are the worst with this, again, don't even bother telling them. Leonas is another doubter; "Yeah, right. *rolls eyes*" Doesn't bother listening after that.

Paul: "NO YOU'RE NOT, IDIOT-HEAD! STOP LYING!" Doesn't believe you until you flash your fangs at him, to which he freezes and starts bawling. Cries for Oliver. Gremlin little piss baby.

Scarlett: "Well, if 'at's the case, we should at least doll you up!" Insists on giving you a makeover to seem 'less intimidating'. She's young, so she doesn't understand this might not be what you want. But she means in it good faith.

Romeo: He's an eboy who watches the vampire diaries. He doesn't think vampires are real, but he thinks you're saying to impress him. It works, and he 'accepts' the fact you're a vampire, but probably not in the way you want him to.

Justice for Awashima Seri

One of my latest posts made me want to re-watch K Project Return of Kings, especially Scepter 4 segment. And damn, there are so many things that happened to Awashima and frankly she didn’t deserve it. I’m not talking about GoRa’s overly disgusting fanservice attempts on Seri, although that’s indeed something that must be protested. I’m talking about how she was kept in dark by her two megane colleagues (mainly Munakata) even though she’s Second in Command of Scepter 4 and someone who has been working besides them for years. After I finished rewatching..... wow it’s worse than I remembered. My heart truly breaks for Seri, and I’m super glad that in the end she got her happy ending (by punching Munakata’s face). Like first, we know how worried she was about Munakata’s state, and after Reisaru’s fight in episode 8, Seri was so worried about Fushimi’s wellbeing and his bedding. Then at the very beginning of her role in episode 9, we have this :

For almost anyone besides Seri, maybe they will not think too much about the fact that they can’t understand what the hell are on Munakata and Fushimi’s heads, after all they’re not the easiest people to understand. But for Seri, it’s quite a new unpleasant territory for her. There’s a reason why she’s the Second in Command after Munakata, why she can easily command the rebel Fushimi without many protests from the said rebel, and why she can work alongside cryptic geniuses like Munakata and Fushimi. From R:B novel, we know that she’s an all-round achiever, but one of her main virtue is she’s goddamn observant. She more or less can understand Munakata’s unique mindset, and she mostly can see right through Fushimi’s bullshit. She more often can hit ‘100 point mark’ regarding the enigmatic Munakata and the ‘absolute tsundere’ Fushimi than any other human being except each other. Like on Munakata’s case, we have this :

Yoshino continued. “An ordinary man would have an interest in nude females, I think, but this is the Captain we’re talking about… How is it for him, what do you think?” She looked up at Awashima.

Awashima’s lips curved into a stiff smile as she took her time to think.

Then she drew a breath and, “I haven’t given that subject a thought until now. But well, if I had to answer…” She shook her head. “This is what I think: in the Captain’s case, it’s entirely possible that never once in his life he has so much as opened that kind of magazines or, alternatively, stores an entire thousand book collection of obscene materials in his room, and I won’t be surprised in the least in either case. Would this suffice as an answer?” Munakata Reishi’s right hand woman and Lieutenant, Awashima Seri, said with an even more strained smile.

Case Files of Blue Chapter 1 (and looking at how eager Munakata asked Hidaka to show his collection, suffice to say that Awashima is absolutely correct about her answer).

Awashima: But, well, for the Captain it’s probably of equal value. Fushimi: Of equal value? What is? Awashima: Protecting this country’s peace and fulfilling his promise to a kindergartener.

And on Fushimi’s case :

“…It might not be a misunderstanding, you know. What if I were in cahoots with Homura?” he retorted, lips pursed.

For a moment, Awashima’s eyes widened slightly before narrowing to slits as she humphed letting a slight smirk tug on her lips. “Suppose there really is a traitor who’s trembling while covered in cold sweat; I’d say at the very least it’s safe to assume he’s not switching sides because he likes it. It’s time for your report. The materials are ready, I hope?”

The King and The Traitor

“It’s hard to call realistic, I have to agree with you on that. And on the off chance that it indeed is a strain’s doing, there is hardly any ground to claim harm sustained from the act. It’s the rainy season, after all. So I do find the idea of wasting time and manpower on investigating this possibility unreasonable, especially considering that we hardly have any to spare, but… if it’s an order from my superior officer, I will look into it though?”

It was said curtly and emotionlessly, but Awashima let out a little chuckle, hearing Fushimi’s answer. “Then look into it for me. Since like me, my competent and capable subordinate, too, seems to be concerned with this matter.”

Also in anime, she noticed Yata’s worry for Mikoto and informed him about Mikoto’s condition to calm him. After breaking Sarumi’s fight, instead of asking apology, she demanded Fushimi to show her the result of his investigation, knowing full well that Fushimi already did some digging before he confronted Yata. She made the remark about only a King can attract another King. Heck, she already deduced that the reason why Munakata kept Zenjou-san on Scepter 4 is to kill Munakata one day, even though Munakata understandably never told anyone about it. During ROK, I kinda got feeling like Munakata and Fushimi were purposely ‘ghosting’ her, but looking at how observant she is, it’s quite understandable why Munakata and Fushimi kept Awashima in the dark to preserve their secret mission (still jerk move for them though).

I think that’s one of the reason why Fushimi gave the hint about his secret mission only to Yata. Not only Yata is his best friend, but he also can count on Yata’s insensitiveness, having been the victim first-hand in the past. Like, Fushimi who is surprisingly responsible and dutiful for his job maybe thought “it’s fine to give Misaki a hint, it’s not like he can pick it up anyway”, so he can feel ‘less guilty’ for endangering the secrecy of his mission. Not that he’s wrong though, I mean Yata you’re a good guy but I have to say you really have a fine thick-head for not noticing and still saying that Fushimi betrayed the Blues, Fushimi jumped from sinking ship after Fushimi uttered such a vague sentence and after knowing that Fushimi secretly asked your brother to quit Jungle. Thank God Munakata gave him clear explanation later. Instead for Awashima, she only got this :

In that brief moment of silence, Fushimi let Awashima knew 3 things :

1. He joined Green clan and willing to attack his ‘former’ clansmen for them.

2. Not only joined Green clan, but he’s now one of J-ranker of Jungle. You know, the true Green clansmen, the one they have to be most cautious like Sukuna and Yukari.

3. He allied with one of Green clansman who participated on Anna’s kidnapping and former Scepter 4′s prisoner.

And he didn’t give Awashima and Kusanagi anything except complete silence and green-laced knife-throwing. Mission accomplished! The monkey succeeds on fooling the strong-willed and observant Lieutenant of Scepter 4. Just like the phrase “To fool your enemy, fool your friends”, there’s no way Awashima can perceive that except as complete betrayal. Haha.

(Truly, Fushimi was so good at executing his job. Too good, actually).

Then, after that shocking revelation that can shake someone’s mentality, she still had duty to report it toward her superior. Look at her reaction after Munakata said things about biting the giver’s hand.

(OMG watching that scene after knowing about Fushimi and Munakata’s secret mission made me truly itch to punch a certain King’s beautiful sparkly face).

She blamed herself for failing to look after Fushimi. I read some posts about Fushimi’s betrayal speculation before ROK episode 11 was aired, those who predicted that Fushimi joined Green for real, almost all expected Yata to stop Fushimi and made him go back to Scepter 4 (or Homra). While I understand the potential Sarumi heartbreaking angst and their another flashy fighting scene, I can’t help but think, can Yata do it? Not that I doubt strong bond between them, but Yata and Fushimi are equal in power. Okay, Yata is stronger in raw power, but Fushimi proved himself can accommodate his power effectively to match Yata. We know from their fight in Ashinaka Gakuen that Fushimi’s dual-color status can pass Yata’s defense, just like an attack can pass the defense from the same aura. Then Fushimi got his Green Aura. I didn’t say that Yata surely would lose to Fushimi on that situation, but it’s understandable if he lost and no one will blame him. But Seri? She’s canonly stronger than Fushimi, she’s usually can keep Fushimi on check in Scepter 4 and Seri is his direct superior after Munakata. I think if indeed Fushimi joined Green clan, the ones that have a chance to win battling him are Seri, Kusanagi, Kuro, and Kings. I can see Awashima blamed herself for failing to stop Fushimi and wanted to compensate for that failure by bringing Fushimi back to Scepter 4.

So, as if that burden is not heavy enough, Munakata brought Zenjou to his side and Awashima, who already worried about Munakata’s safety for a whole season and more, got an honor to watch on front seat as this happened :

Her King had a sword pointed toward his neck, but Awashima wasn’t fast enough to even touch her saber. Munakata’s Second in Command, who just realized that preventing her King’s Damocles Down is her responsibility, was shown the fact that she was not fast enough in comparison with Zenjou. Just, let’s imagine some time between episode 9 and 11 Seri looked at her saber, lamented at the fact that she failed to stop Fushimi and she was not fast enough to fulfil her most hurtful responsibility. Imagine Seri tried to get a hold of herself, readied herself to point her sword toward her closest comrades.

Of course her torment didn’t end there. The Quack Prime Minister fired Munakata from his duty, removed him from Scepter 4. And Munakata, wordlessly, without giving any words or announcements toward his clansmen...

(SERIOUSLY GIVE HER A BREAK! MUNAKATAAAAA!!!!)

I feel like that scene is the peak of Munakata’s “ghosting” toward Awashima. Not to mention, her (and Scepter 4) next order is :

(Help! My poor clueless ducklings are trapped while their genius jerk megane superiors are carelessly walking toward suicide plans!).

Honorary mention for the rest of poor lost ducklings :

(Yes, Munakata, you can’t just leave without any words toward your clansmen. Especially when you literally walked toward your death).

(BTW the meaning of “one unthinkable thing happening after another” is Fushimi’s betrayal followed by Munakata’s resignation. Little appreciation that they thought Fushimi’s betrayal is “unthinkable thing” even though the fact that Fushimi’s status as Homra’s “traitor” is widely known in Scepter 4).

(Zenjou-san and the rest of Scepter 4 are not amused by your secret plan shenanigans, Munakata and Fushimi. Zenjou thought that those jerks truly ruin meganes’ reputation. Unbeknown to him, Enomoto thought the same).

Well, we know what happened after this. Seri and the rest of Special Squad got their first clue about what the heck is happened from a freaking TV, they rushed toward their King, the show was shifted to Silvers and Reds and NO SCEPTER 4 REUNION OR SETTLEMENT EVEN THOUGHT GORA CRAFTED SUCH A BIG AND COMPLEX CONFLICT IN SCEPTER 4.

Well, at least Seri got to punch Munakata in the face, even though in my opinion she truly deserved more after all the shits she had been through.

Inosuke is also a super bit fan off all of your cooking. I have a personal headcanon that, since he was raised by boars, he didn’t have a lot of sweet stuff to eat growing up and now that he has the chance to, he has a huge sweet tooth.

So I was just listening this song (Sunkissed by khai dreams) and like its so s o f t and of course I couldn’t help but imagine some of the Haikyuu ships singing it to each other so then I had to write one shots/ideas for all of them and this happened:

DaiSuga: literally the softest ship in the show there no way I couldn’t think of them. Like it could go some many ways but like my favorite would be if like Daichi plays/sings for him as a confession (cause we all know that man is talented as hell) and maybe it’s like after they graduate or the team sets it up or something and like halfway through Suga starts tearing up and when Daichis done Sugas like ‘You’re such a sap’ and accepts/confesses back with something cheesy like ‘But that’s why I love you too’. And like they’re both tears eyed and I-they’re just so soft and sweet and I’d die for them so fast.

BokuAka: I couldn’t not think of the practically canon power couple that it Akaashi and Bokuto. Like I can’t help but imagine at lunch or something Bokuto finds Akaashi singing this to himself and like just quietly stands there for a while with like this cute fond smile on his face before approaching and sitting with him, and at first Akaashi internally freaks out like ‘shit! how much of that did he hear???’ But then Bokuto doesn’t bring it up so he just lets it go. bUT later at practice stuffs going normal before Bokuto just randomly asks ‘have you guys ever heard Akaashi sing?’ And they’re like ‘Ughhh Bokuto can we please just focus on practicing’ (Cause we all know this man talks about Akaashi to everyone constantly) but then they all look over at Akaashi who’s frozen in shock with like a light blush and Konohas like ‘Nvm practice I wanna hear this man sing’ and that’s how Akaashi ends up singing infront of the whole Fukurodani team while bright red and Bokuto recording the whole thing and sending it to Kuro being like ‘Guess what bro I have the best boyfriend of all time’.

IwaOi: Dont even get me started on how cute these two are. I totally imagine this as like either a confession or a proposal or something. Obviously Iwaizumi would sing it cause he’s definitely the sappier between the two, but like Iwaizumi would totally lead him to like a secluded area and the whole way Oikawa would make sarcastic comments like ‘Are you finally going to murder me Iwa-Chan?’ And when they stop it’s like by a bunch of flowers or under a pretty tree (cause Iwaizumi would) and before Oikawa can say anything Iwaizumi starts singing playing the song with like a small blush on the tip of his cheeks while alternating between looking at Oikawa and anything but Oikawa. And like the whole time Oikawa has this slight agape and starry eyed look on his face with like a blush. And then when he’s done they just stand staring at each other for like a whole minute both blushing and Iwaizumi getting more and more nervous before Oikawa finally just step forward with a quiet ‘Iwa-Chan’ (or maybe ‘Hajime’) and pull him into a kiss, but I also like to think Oikawa would be a little shit (cause that’s why we love him) and do a 180 by throwing his hands up like ‘Idiot you finally told me!’ before jumping him and they both fall to the ground while Oikawa aggressively kisses all over Iwaizumis face who is trying and failing to not laugh. I also love to imagine that later Oikawa begs Iwazumi to let him record and post him singing cause ‘Everyone needs hear my amazing boyfriend singing Iwa-chan’ and when he posts it everyone’s like ‘omg Oikawa this is so good your singing is so nice’ and ‘Oikawa-senpai this is so good I love your voice!’ and Oikawas ‘like no you idiot that’s Iwa-Chan, duh’ and that’s how Iwaizumi gets known throughout Aoba Johsai as an amazing singer and Oikawas Torus boyfriend.

KuroKen: I couldn’t help but think of these two. Like I imagine it as like Kuro confessing to Kenma. Like maybe it’s after their last game together or after they’ve graduated or something and like the whole day Kuros has this bright look in his eyes so when he pulls Kenma away to go and talk somewhere Kenma 100% expects for him to joke around and try to give some cheesy sort of speech so when Kuro stops and turns to him with that look in his eyes Kenma can’t help but roll his eyes before Kuro suddenly starts singing and Kenma freezes ‘cause like Kuro wtf’ before the meaning of everything falls into place and he’s like ‘Kuro no no stop Kuro’ but Kuro just grins at him and keeps going while Kenna’s face gets redder and redder. Like halfway through Kuro drops to one knee (cause he’s an over dramatic idiot and I love him) and Kenma try’s to cover his face to stop how he flush’s even more. When he’s done I love to imagine Kuro making some dumb video game reference or maybe an inside joke that has Kenma laughing and pulling his hands away to look at Kuro who has the same bright look in his eyes and Kenma just gives him a small smile before quietly returning his confession. I also love the imagine that when they get back to the team Kuro just gives Yaku a small thumbs up when no ones looking (cause we all know Kuro would rant/rehearse with Yaku for a whole week before doing it) and Yaku returns the gesture before Levs just like ‘Yaku-San why are making weird hand gestures with Kuro? Are you in a gang? Yaku-San are you and Kuro in a gang?!’ And Yaku just gives a defeated sigh.

Matsuhana: You know I could never forget the beloved meme team of Aoba Johsai. I imagine they would totally do something like this before and after confessing but I love to imagine them casually sitting with (probably on) each other before Matsukawas just like ‘oh yeah bro lemme sing this song for you it reminds me of you’ and maybe it leads to a confession or maybe they’re already dating but either way he sings it and the whole time he just gently smiles at Makki while Makki stares back with his usual smirk but his eyes are kinda starry and maybe halfway through Makki starts humming along or something cute like that. When he’s done though Makki would totally be his usual self and be like ‘Well I can do you one better’ and starts playing the music to despacito on his phone before standing up and doing a somewhat coordinated dance routine while singing along and looking playfully at Matsukawa the whole time who is full on laughing between comments of ‘Makki oh my god how are so bad at dancing’ and ‘how is this better we literally don’t know a single word you’re saying’.

KyoHaba: Continuing on my love for Aoba Johsai I couldnt forget these two. I 100% believe that Kyotani crush’s first, like maybe it’s after they’re game with Karasuno and for a whole week Kyoutani can’t stop thinking about it so he’s goes up to Iwazumi like ‘Um Senpai is it weird if you want someone else to pin to a wall?’ And before Iwazumi can say anything Makkis just like ‘Nah bro that’s just kinky’ and Iwazumi just sighs before trying to help Kyoutani both better explain and also help with his issue (we all know Iwazumi cares about Kyoutani) Which is how all the third years find out about Kyoutanis crush on Yahaba. I love to imagine that through the rest of the year Kyoutani try’s small romantic gestures like flowers, notes and small things but never actually confesses and lets be honest, Yahaba would be completely clueless but can’t help but admit that they’ve grown closer ‘cause duh, of course the captain and ace need to be close I-Watari why are you laughing at me?’. I feel like Kyoutani would probably do it after a bad game as third years, maybe it was just a practice match or maybe they lost in spring high but either way everyone can tell Yahaba’s slowly getting panicked and lost in himself and maybe he does it right when he gets back or maybe a few days later but he walks in on Yahaba late at practice after everyone’s left and Kyoutani grumbles something about ‘idiot tiring himself out’ or something before marching over and dragging a tired but feisty Yahaba to the locker room to clean up. Yahaba would totally refuse and somewhere along the line they would probably start arguing and maybe Kyoutanis trying to to get his point across and repeats something cheesy he said in one of his notes and they both just freeze with Kyouanti thinking ‘fuck fuck fuck’. Then probably in a panic Kyotani just goes for it and starts singing. The whole time I imagine Yahaba is still frozen but slowly a blush starts to rise on his cheeks while Kyoutanis standing there bright red and avoiding eye contact besides to check if Yahaba’s still breathing. When he’s done Yahaba would still be frozen and Kyoutani would just frantically keep looking between him and the floor before Yahaba suddenly moved and kisses him, and at first Kyoutani would probably just stand there in shock before he slowly started to return the kiss and maybeee they just end up making out in the locker room who knows. Tomorrow at morning practice Watari would definitely pick up on the hickeys on Yahaba’s neck but before he can say anything he spots the blush running up Kyoutanis neck and just stops for a second before full on cackling at both Kyoutani and Yahaba’s matching blushes. That’s how the whole team of Aoba Johsai find out that their current Ace and captain are dating just as their previous had. (I’m so sorry this 100% turned into a long oneshot but I couldn’t stop it once it started)

EnnoTana: Another amazing ace/captain duo (in their third year) who I absolutely would die for. For some reason I kept imaging this as if the song were an apology, mainly Tanaka trying to apologize for an argument to a stubborn Ennoshita after he’s exhausted all his options. Tanaka would also totally be a sap about it like probably have flowers and candles and everything, Ennoshita being himself would totally have some sort of bored but smug look on his face when Tanaka starts singing (let’s be honest Tanaka would sing for him no matter how cheesy the song) and maybe after a certain line hits him Ennoshitas smugness dies away to a soft smile and starry eyes returned by Tanakas love struck expression. Maybe Tanaka pulls him over and starts dancing with him (I know cheesy, but Tanakas would be so cheesy). Maybe after Ennoshita would lean in to whisper ‘I wasn’t still mad you idiot’ against his lips before leaning back and laughing at pouting Tanaka who’s whining along the lines of ‘Chikaraaa you ruined the moment’.

Oh my god that was so much I’m so sorry I just HAD to rant to somebody/something about how cute this song is (I totally recommend it) and how cute these volleyball dorks are. I know my writing wasn’t really one-shot style but I just had to get it out. Also I hope I got all of them in character and I’m sorry if I somehow didn’t.
