idk about anyone else but I'M thinking about how selena, annabeth, and chris were each manipulated by luke because they were close to him and trusted him, and how beckendorf, percy, and clarisse each wanted nothing but the best for the person they loved, and tried their best to protect them through their trauma and pain, how even in the face of death, they only wanted each other, and only thought of each other.

so yeah, so happy beckengard never died and selena and beckendorf and clarisse and chris and percy and annabeth get to go on silly little triple dates and everyone gets to laugh at clarisse and percy daring each other to balance a spoon on their nose for two minutes

First season wrap up:

Okay, to start, i should mention my general opinion on first seasons for shows, especially cable shows, is not to read too much of it as canon. The writers, producers, actors- everyone- are all trying to figure out what works and what doesn’t, so i give them latitude, particularly when it conflicts with later seasons. That being said, i do enjoy jumping through the hoops to make it all fit haha

So heres a few leftover notes i had as i revisited the eps to rank them:

I bet part of Lassie was craving the father figure in Henry, since we find out later his own father passed away when he was quite young. I wonder if thats part of the reason why he became a cop, as they are portrayed as the protectors and in the 80’s they were mainly men (i don’t really remember if he states his reason later, i suspect he did and im just not remembering). So when Henry didn’t meet up to the expectation he had in his mind, i bet it hurt a little more as it reminded him of what he lost :/

I think the other reason Shawn plays dumb so much, besides hiding his genius so ppl believe hes psychic, or for laughs, is because its how he gets people talking. Like in Shawn vs. the red phantom, he purposely guessed the wrong room number so the boys would correct him. My apologies if someones pointed this out before, i haven’t combed through the internet for everyone’s theories 😬 i only now noticed. I’m not the quickest at picking these things up lol

If i had to guess, Shawn didn’t want to be a cop for halloween, he probably wanted to be something star wars related to go with Gus’s Lando. So i wonder at what age Shawn stopped trying to please his dad. But also, why didn’t his mother ever stand up for him?? I’ll come back to her later -_-

I somehow missed it the first time, but shawn clearly asked Gus to come to the dinner and Gus even points out that it was a big deal for henry to reach out. Soo, yeah, shawn obviously didn’t wanna be alone with his dad, and even henry seemed nervous about it as hes pretty drunk.

Shawn has a right to be afraid of pointy things, his dad hid his easter eggs under glass when he was 6! Not to mention he later gets stabbed 3 times! (Also its just a legitimate fear???)

I love the choice to have Fry, Bender and Leela move in together so much because it enforces the fact that Fry considers his relationship to Bender just as important as his relationship to Leela. Personally I'm a Freeler shipper, so of course I appreciate that aspect of this episode, but going beyond shipping, as an aromantic person seeing Fry's platonic relationship to Bender be prioritized and respected even as he moved into a new stage in his romantic relationship with Leela was really refreshing and nice. It made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside to see these three characters that I've loved for years take on a living situation and dynamic that I could actually relate to and see myself in for once.

And I'm so glad Bender was allowed to want to live with Fry and be upset by shifting relationship dynamics. I feel like as an aro I get asked to suck it up and just accept that my most important relationships won't be prioritized by the other person because they have romantic attachments. It was genuinely nice to see Bender be upset about this stuff and to see Fry respond to those feelings with sincerity and genuine concern for his friend. I do wish we had gotten a bit more of a resolution to those feelings then Bender simply... deciding he's okay with being a 3rd wheel, but over all I really loved this episode and the direction the writers are going with the trio's relationship.

Synopsis: On their "ST☆RISH Search!" program, it has been decided that ST☆RISH will be holding a summer training camp in preparation for their upcoming concert. And the destination for the camp will be on the beach! Masato who became the facilitator of the event is getting enthusiastic, along with Ren who casually providing a follow-up support. A hot and exciting summer that weaves the seven members is about to begin—!

Ch 1:

Currently on "ST☆RISH Search!" program. Natsuki: And for the "Masterpiece Drama Cooking Recreation Championship" this time! The winning member is… Natsuki: Masato-kun who impressed the judges with his overwhelming ability to perfectly recreate the dish and its delicious taste. Congratulations~♪ Masato: Thank you. Truth to be told, I'm honestly happy that I was able to win since I worked hard and even struggled on trying to express the world of it's original dish. Syo: And wow, would you look at that! It looks like the winner, Hijirikawa, will receive a great prize in return! Tokiya: That's quite a big box. As if its size could actually fit a person inside of it… Shining: That's right! *: Idk exactly on how to translate 一投入魂, but the jp article that I read, the phrase means concentrating/putting all of your heart and soul or going all in and trying really hard on something. It's mostly used on ball sports, such as baseball, tennis, badminton etc to boost the morale of the players.

On the first day of the training camp at Saotome's private beach. Otoya: It's the sea-! Look, it's so beautiful. It makes me want to just jump and dive into it! Syo: That's right, especially in this hot weather. …Shall we go and do it? Shall we! Cecil: Uh, I-I… I'm fine with just looking at it from the distance for now. Besides I don't even have a swim tube with me… Tokiya: Otoya, Syo. Since we're in a training camp right now, please try to act and behave as a group. There will be a couple of beach competitions to work on your reflexes. This time it's a team event. Masato: By the way, since this is before lunch, there are already rewards prepared for it. The winning team will be given a high-quality food ingredients… Masato: While the losing team will have the usual ingredients and they will be in charge for cooking lunch. Masato: And so, the result of the final beach flag showdown…will be decided in which team is the first one who capture the three flags, which means the winner is our team. Otoya: Yaayy! Although we barely made it, but with this we finally got the high-quality ingredients! Ren: Although it was actually quite a close match, but well… a loss is a loss. We will make the lunch with all of our hearts in it. Natsuki: Wow, so these are all the high-quality ingredients for the winning team? Matsusaka beef, spiny lobsters…. Oh, and there are also crabs in it too! Tokiya: For our part, it's just a very common barbeque ingredients. I'm relieved to see that it was actually something edible that we can normally eat.
