Gwen is a collector — but not of collectibles. She has a secret empire of the most random things, and is thoroughly embarrassed when anyone finds it: tickets, pins, soda can tabs, cool-looking clothing tags, mismatched hair clips, paper clips, little things stolen from school, etc. Anything she things is remotely interesting has a place in a very specifically organised box under her bed, tucked away from the world and taken out occasionally to be adjusted or stared at. It's essentially the same as being a collector, right...?

She had a fashion hobby she grew out of, but it re-kindles when she has to design a suit for herself. Initially, it's made up of thermal sportswear but she comes up with actual designs at some point, modifying it overtime to include the hood and to integrate it with her ballet slippers.

When it comes to art, Gwen's style would be a lot like a fashion student's. I headcanon her to have aphantasia so her main strength is drawing clothing, and a lot of her drawings are based on herself as a reference (she can literally only draw herself well...) Rather than a sketchbook, she has a journal that's also full of photographs and writing as well as her drawings, and the occasional crumpled up drum score.

Has a knack for sewing and customises some of her clothes, though it's more personal touches and the occasional crop rather than completely overhauling a piece of clothing. Everyday items of hers have at least a little embroidery or design on them and she likes doing patterns on like bags and converse for her friends. Wants to make plushies and things but always manages to get distracted so there's a bunch of unfinished projects in her closet. (I would totally buy from her on Etsy though 😁)

Gwen did ballet as a kid and developed the enraging habit of cracking EVERY joint in her body. She's the mf that twists in the chair in front of you and stares deep into your soul while cracking her back. Cracks things you don't even know you could crack without shame my girl is a whole instrument 😭

Ballet is something her dad pushed her towards, alongside music (though he preferred she did something more traditional). Initially Gwen did feel out of place in her classes. A lot of the other children at her classes were already well-versed in it, and a lot of times she found she wanted to quit. Only after learning that her mom Helen did ballet did she willingly pick it up again at an older age, incorporating the technique into her fighting style.

Gwen used to play a few different instruments as a kid but none of them really stuck. For a while, she thought she hated music when she did piano and the recorder, but when she got her hands on a drumkit at her school and a couple lessons, she knew it was the one.

Her drumming is definitely more freestyle, and even though she's good she has a lot of problems with her high energy, spontaneous and emotive style. That means she breaks her drumsticks ALL the time. There's no way she's banging all that out on the drums without an unfortunate snap or two, so she always keeps another pair handy. She's broken her drumsticks so much that there's a collection of them torn up at the bottom of her bag (she never bothers to throw them out, and might've given herself a splinter reaching in to find something 💀)

Speaking of drumsticks, she has one lucky pair she uses for important performances, carrying them practically everywhere. They've essentially rotted in their fancy little fabric case since she'd gottem them, the custom "GWENDOLYN MAXINE STACY" imprinted on it having almost completely eroded away.

Though, she's only ever used them once; her dad had bought them for her for a school performance, which she had to bail last minute when her Spider-sense suddenly activated. Running off to fight a villain not a street away, Peter Parker follows her, and he realises just who Spider-Woman really is.

While she was planning to use them at her prom performance with her band... that never happened. After that, everything reminded her of that night, and her relationship with The Mary Janes dwindled until she quit altogether. The band only lasted a few months prior, and since they never got to perform at prom, Gwen found herself playing for no reason at all, other than to get rid of her pent-up energy and forget about the fact that she's basically a wanted criminal.

When she's living in Hobie's universe, she ends up breaking her "lucky" drumsticks and is, understandably, a little shattered by it, but Hobie gets her another pair, "GWENDY" written in mismatched letters on the side. That "G" was definitely a last-minute addition, though. He also teaches her how to stop breaking them so often. "Bit of advice — use the wrists, not just the arms."

Gwen's definitely not meant to drink, so whenever Hobie goes to the pub he makes sure not to, suggesting his friends don't get pissed out of their minds either (though she might steal a sip of something fruity now and again.)

Hobie takes her to gigs all the time, and sometimes she drums for his ones. The first time she does it, she's nervous of course, but her sound immediately gets the crowd going and it's the talk of the town for a week straight (and her drumsticks didn't break!)

There's no shortage of junk food, of course. Just like all the takeout she'd have back at home, Hobie would make sure to take her around all the local spots. Although it's not exactly the same, anything beats the plasticky cafeteria food in 2099. Stopping for a kebab or two in the middle of anomaly-hunting isn't really against the rules anyway.

Gwen is friendly with pretty much everyone in the Spider-society because everyone knows who "Gwen Stacy" is, but she never really wants to meet another version of herself (given how unsettling it is with context). Also very awkward around any MJs — or Peters. Peter B essentially being an older 65!Peter definitely freaks her out a little at first.

Misses Miles, obviously, and probably had something she wanted to make for him back in her universe that she could never retrieve. Maybe when she gets Hobie's watch she'll bring it along with her — would Miles like a knitted neckwarmer?

SO best friends with Margo. Her tech lets Gwen see into her universe sometimes (Miguel wouldn't let her 😞) and Margo is super keen on learning about her universe. They both hang out with Peni and it's a fun little girl trio (Peni totally takes them to her universe to see all the giant mechs 😁 "Girls night!" BOOM!)

Number 1 girlfail. She hasn't broken those new drumsticks yet! But drumming can wait — and all those projects at the back of her closet, and her unresolved dispute with MJ and the band, and her dad at home. Going from her small world to having an entire multiverse against her and her friends, Gwen's got one hell of a show to put on, right?

WELL LADS, ITS FINALLY DONE. I FINALLY FINISHED THE PUERTO RICAN FLAG BLANKET

this blanket is a fucking behemoth. it almost entirely covers my full sized bed, and it comfortably covers my mom and my dad when they're sitting side by side.

it so succeeds in being cozy, and i'm so glad i chose the yarn i did. hobbii's bulk discount meant that i didn't spend as much in yarn as i could have (though i did still spend a lot, over $300 💀). amigo giga is rated as good to go in the washer, too, so that means i'm not terrified of the yarn getting damaged the first time it has to be washed.

the colors are so bright, too. even though it's not perfectly done, (i accidentally did 2 rows extra in one of the stripes and didn't notice it till last minute, and i definitely could have done a better job hiding the weaved ends,) i'm so proud of myself for buckling down and working so hard on it. and my mom loves it! and that's what matters. so, ending out this update post! here are some Numbers:

the blanket measures out to be a whopping 65in tall and 72in wide (or ~165cm x ~180.8cm for my international friends). i used 12.5 skeins of hobbii's amigo giga yarn in christmas red, 4.5 skeins of hobbii's amigo giga yarn in cobalt blue, and 7.5 skeins of hobbii's amigo giga yarn in white. i definitely overshot how much yarn i needed the second time i ordered, but i'm sure i'll find a use for the leftover yarn! i also wanna shout out the creator of the pattern i used, this Puerto Rican flag pattern can be done in single crochet or C2C, but when I realized the weight of my yarn wasn't just right for this project the pattern designer personally helped me over etsy dms and she is just such a total sweetheart. i HIGHLY recommend her patterns! she was the one who gave me the advice of making the blanket out of double crochets like a genius to hit gauge (though i did go overboard on my own accord). overall, i'm very proud of myself for getting it over and done with, and i'm excited to start on my next (less ambitious, definitely less huge) project!

There's a long frame with gold on it, and inside of it is a nail set he got her his first time ever (that was three years ago 💀) She told him it was coming off, and she was so sad because he got it for her (he fell in love with her more because of that) so he helped her get them off, and he told her that he'll throw them away.

Ghost wears a braided friendship bracelet Sweetheart made him. (Its black and blue with lil skulls) He hides it on his left wrist with his glove, but he still wears it. When he's not around Sweetheart, he plays with the ties and smiles

Soap has like a little collage of pictures of Sweetheart and him on a corkboard. They take pictures when they're in a new country or state and collect weeds of flowers and give it to each other (SO CUTE I LOVE SOAP) and his sketchbook is FILLED of Sweetheart-- like he remembers what she looks like so much he sketches her from memory. And he uses a separate sketchbook for her, he calls it "Sweet's Looks".

Gaz only has one picture of her, and it's on his phone. It's Sweetheart cuddled up on his side, hand on his chest while watching a movie. It's obviously his home screen wallpaper (not his lock screen he can't handle that) he also has a little basket of different rocks Sweetheart has given him because she has a little basket of rocks he has given her as well (they're birds I tell ya)

Price has a photo of her in his hat. That's why he never lets anyone touch it, and his heart beats a little quicker when Sweetheart wears is hat cause he's nervous she's gonna see the picture (she has, and it's her and Brutus together and she squeals everytime in her mind)

My experience

Ever since I was little, I behaved like a cat, loved to act like one. I used (still do) to walk around extra quietly, drink water cat style (even tho my mom hated it and told me to stop) and drawn towards scratching and biting when fighting with other kids/my lil bro.

{{I do also have some pack experiences and I do have a very special connection to water, so Im might be more than just cat type, even tho Id say it is my ‚main‘ one.}}

These behaviors had the effect that my parents call(ed) me cat-like a lot, but I never really thought abt it. But when I got into the tk community, I also got into the furry and therian community somehow, but then I thought that if itd be a therian, Id probably just choose a theriotype [cat] ans would be faking it. A few months ago, I got into severe contact with the whole topic, and got me thinking. Long story short, here I am.

Shifts

Since social media portrays shift in basically only one way (very extreme; its almost like the person is a completely different being) I long thought I dont experience shifts. I do, but not that extreme.

My shifts are normally about instinctive and phantom limbs. I tend to observe more and get more anxious around humans (only the ones I dont know or if its not a safe environment), same as getting the urge to hiss, meow (:3) or scratch stuff, if Im in a fight even bite. (I do not do these//Im not hurting ppl in rl normally… my bros an exception 🥰)

As for the phantom limbs, I just feel like they would be behaving like the ones of a real cat when it would be in that situation.

Quadrobics

I normally dont do quadrobics (because of the bugs and ticks… aswell as I dont know where to go, I have a field right before my house, but the street there is very lively) but I think theyre very fun! Im just kinda bad at them lol💀

Gear

I do like gear a lot! Im just kinda insecure with masks, because I look like Im dressing up, but Im not. I think it will get better over time (wven tho you cant breath with them in summer bro)

With the tails, I lovee them but I dont have one yet. I did a lot of research and spent hours with that topic, and didnt want to buy from amazon. Etsy is kinda complicated for me, since Im not super familiar with it, but yk

That whole Cassie Reffel author drama just goes to show that some people don’t know how to separate reality from fiction and then it gives other writers who touch on dark topics a bad name.

For those who don’t know, Cassie Reffel is a self-published author who writes dark romance. She recently got some heat for using real life killer Wade Wilson (not Deadpool) who was recently sentenced to death for the brutal murders of two women as a way to promote one of her books. Her video was so tactless with 0 respect for the victims, showing a photo of Wilson with a caption along the lines of “if you like him you’ll love this” followed by a picture and description of her book. Don’t have the exact quote since she’s deleted the original, but I’m sure screenshots are floating around. Instead of apologizing, she doubled down, turned off all comments where she was able, and made a bunch of unhinged TikToks in a row absolving herself of all wrongdoing.

If you’re going to write about serial killers maybe don’t do so in a way that glorifies a real murderer?? It’s bad enough Wade Wilson already has fangirls making thirst traps of him and trying to contact him in prison. Absolutely disgusting. No one would even know who she was if not for this controversy. Her self-published books read like a teenager trying to be edgy on Wattpad, complete with mistakes like “strole” instead of “stroll” and one of her characters being a “collage” student. An actual publisher wouldn’t touch her middle school writing with a 40 foot “poll.” That and with the way she can’t take any criticism shows she’s not cutout to be an actual author at all.

My favorite thing though? Her little blurb on her Amazon author profile starts with “welcome to the darkness of my mind” literally not too far off from “welcome to my twisted mind” which I’m sure she probably wanted to use, but couldn’t because it’s been meme’d to shit. 2012 tumblr ass behavior.

This could go into a longer discussion about how true crime and booktok have further contributed to this ongoing brainrot of not honoring victims while glorifying murderers, but I’m already fuming lol.

I once got into it with someone on TikTok because they said I was glorifying murder by posting about Lady Dimitrescu, a fictional villain. I told them to save that energy for the true crime girlies selling serial killer merch on Etsy. Lady Dimitrescu isn’t real, no actual living person has been harmed by her actions. Enjoying an interesting villain from a fictional world is in no way and never has been on par with people being fans of actual murderers. I don’t condone Alcina’s actions, yes, even when I write a fic that involves those in character actions. These pathetic serial killer simps make excuses for actual murders that have happened because ~their poor little baby was misunderstood~ barf. Even being a fictional villain fan, I hate the woobification of said fictional villains and then these bitches are out here doing it with real people 💀 get fucked.

I'm really glad you set a boundary for yourself with your "no more questions about update schedule please" post! It can feel hard to set a boundary when others have good intentions, but that's why it's so important!

In my middle school days, I used to make jewelry for fun, but then classmates started complimenting me and asking for items for free, and it stopped being fun after that. But I never managed to set a clear boundary of "hey this is stressful, please stop" because 1) I didn't know how to do that without sounding rude, and 2) people meant well, so shouldn't l be EXTRA grateful?

And then well into adulthood, my one friend from middle school (that I had stayed friends with) would still ask me why I wasn't posting my jewelry pieces on social media anymore, or why l wasn't selling on Etsy. And even then, as an adult, I STILL had trouble communicating that these well-meaning questions were stressful!

All this to say that I have so much respect for your writing AND your writing schedule AND your communication! 🩷 You so happened to post a bunch of updates around my birthday, which was a delight, but at no point did you ever give me the impression or expectation that you'd post at a regular cadence, nor should you have to. Any hobby should spark joy, not stress! 🩷🩷

I know I’ve said a few times that I don’t have a set upload schedule, but this fic has gotten a LOT of new readers over the past few weeks (which is incredible) and not everyone who reads on archive looks at my tumblr so I try to be understanding when I get those questions, especially since I have posted pretty quickly for the most part. And I get the part about not wanting to sound ungrateful!! I don’t want to sound mean at all because I love all the reads and comments but unfortunately yesterday was just a “please don’t do this to me today” kind of day. so i keep pulling my best friends biases. and today i pulled both scoups AND hoshi in a single album 💀💀

this is about how it goes every time bc i pull scoups and hoshi all the time its so funny 💀💀 even when i order stuff off etsy sometimes theyll come w a random pc freeb and i got scoups and hoshi from those too its so funny to me (also she lives 20 hours from me which is why i cant just give her the pcs. by the time im able to visit i might as well have a whole binder cause damn her bitches wont leave me alone smh)
