We’re organizing a community-wide Over The Garden Wall rewatch, with an episode each day for the week-and-a-half leading up to Halloween!

Beginning on October 22nd, we’ll rewatch the series, one episode per day. An announcement post will be put up each day, saying what the episode of the day is, and providing links for viewing/locations you can watch at! Our ask box and submissions will be open for people to put their thoughts on the episode :3

Any kind of content is allowed! Fanart, fanfic, meta, reactions, favorite parts from the episode, etc. As long as it’s relevant to the episode of the day!

Keep things SFW! We won’t reblog/post any NSFW content. Horror is okay, but try to keep things in the spirit of the show!

Anon is turned off for this blog! We want to encourage community building and fandom interaction in the notes & among posts in the tag!

gods of Olympus @gravity-falls-daily okay since it’s the last episode(s) it’s time for an essay on Gravity Falls and why it’s so special to me

when I first watched Gravity Falls, I was having a really bad summer.

First off, I turned 18 the previous January. I was struggling with myself a lot: my identity, my brain, my everything. I was deathly afraid I wouldn’t be able to make it on my own, that my broken brain that didn’t seem to work like everyone else’s was gonna stop me from achieving my goals and being independent. i was already taking online college courses, but college itself (actually going and having to live at a college) was marching closer with every day. I was paralyzed with indecision and fear for the future

Second: My mom got diagnosed with cancer for the second time (same kind of cancer btw) in ten years. Six years ago was when she had it the first time, and before she got diagnosed again we all thought she was pretty much in the clear. When the diagnosis came in, I was…well, pissed is too mild a word. I was angry beyond belief. That was that May, and that summer was filled with chemo appointments and I was suddenly faced with more responsibilities than before, because I had to get me and my brother places when my mom couldn’t and when my dad was at work

so to distract myself from Everything, I started watching movies and tv shows, and I found Gravity Falls. I liked it almost instantly - it was charming and adventurous, and I loved the character‘s stories.

And then the last few episodes happened. I watched Mabel learn that high school and teenagerhood wasn’t all that great, I watched things changing for Mabel and it was all Too Much Too Fast for her and I felt that in my core, and I thought ‘oh hey I’m not alone in this’.

and then I watched the finale. I watched these 13-year-olds have a happy ending, I watched everyone get a happy ending. They win. They get to live and succeed. And it made me realize: if they can do it, so can I

if 12 year old Dipper can survive three days by himself in an apocalypse, I can survive on my own in college. If 12 year old Mabel can spray-paint a demon in the eye, I can make my brain work properly. If 60 year old Ford can withstand torture for days without giving in, I can do what it takes to get to my goals. If 60 year old Stan can get his memories back, I can deal with whatever crises I may have

that’s why Gravity Falls is so special to me. It kind of…makes me feel like I can do this. I can be an adult. If they can do it after an apocalypse, i can do it after teengerhood.

("Guys, don't you see? Our friends need us, but we can only save them if we fight back." Mabel is right. Bill wants us to run and hide. He wants us to think he's invincible. But Ford told me before he was captured that he knows Bill's secret weakness.

One of my favorite scene when young Dipper and Mabel flashback I wonder how does Young Dipper got a Razor he should just give Mabel his blue hat instead. Plus Mabel give Dipper her valentines to when he got no Valentines.
