a/n: ok so these two requests are very similar so i kinda combined them, so basically reader finds out about his supplier being flirty and assumes that chris cheats but he doesn’t actually cheat. i think it works better with the storyline cause if he had cheated i wouldn’t have reader go back to him.

when i opened my door, chris stood there with flowers in his hand, in the pouring rain.

before i could even get a word out he started talking.

“you are way more than a business transaction to me. i’m not using you for sex, and i’m definitely not cheating on you. i would never do anything to hurt you. i can’t lose you. i won’t lose you. you could curse me out and yell at me for the rest of my life and i still wouldn’t leave you alone. i’d rather have you hate me for the rest of your life than not be a part of it. “

i just stood there staring and listening, taking in the fact that he was standing at my door, soaking wet, with my favorite kind of flowers in his hand. he looked desperate, like he wouldn’t be able to live if i didn’t believe him. i searched his eyes as he spoke, looking and failing to see any signs of dishonesty.

“and i swear i did not cheat on you with my supplier. i know she’s a very touchy person, but i really didn’t think anything of it. i will call her right now and tell her that she needs to tone it down and that i am happily taken and unavailable. i honestly should have done that from the start, but i didn’t think she was flirting with me. “

when i heard that his supplier was being touchy and laughing with him, i just jumped to conclusions. he never actually gave me any reason to believe he would cheat on me.

“look-“ he started. i stepped outside, into the rain, interrupting him “stop talking”.

i pulled his face to mine by his shirt, placing my lips on his. our lips moved against each others in perfect sync, as the water droplets continued to fall down our bodies.

as i pulled away to talk, his lips chased mine.

“i’m sorry chris. i shouldn’t have jumped to conclusions and made assumptions. i’ve been cheated on and lied to in the past, but i should’ve known that you aren’t like that. i trust you with my life, chris. “ he grinned at that.

“so we agree that we were both in the wrong, then ?” he asked, pressing his forehead to mine.

“definitely” i agreed.

“ok good. can we go inside then? it’s freezing out here” he said, making us both laugh.

“yeah, sorry. i just couldn’t pass up the opportunity for a rain kiss” we continued to laugh as we went inside to warm up.

and without any more hesitation here he is!!

✦ he got the nickname tears for a reason, anything and everything will set this boy off. he's a true crybaby and will certainly use it to try and win your attention from the others. It's not always cause he's sad though, sometimes things can just get overwhelming 

✦ his memory can be a bit spotty, unlike wild he rushed through his previous quest, not that he's all that fussed about missing those memories - making new positive ones are more important to him

✦ like his counterpart, he's got a couple of different nicknames, tears is the most prominent however architect does tend to show itself fairly often. messing around to see what different kinds of contraptions he can make is one of his favourite pastimes, one he'll happily share if given the chance.

✦ wild and him have been assumed many times to be identical twins, seeing as his stint in the shrine of ressurection put a halt to most of his aging processes. not that he doesn't bring up his actual age every now and then for a little shock factor

✦ thankfully they're easy to tell apart, seeing as tears discovered how to dye his hair and paint his nails quickly into his second quest, leading to his hair forever being stained with a multitude of different colours while his nails change colour nearly every other day

✦ his cheeky side is still very much there though, ready to make the dumbest puns you've ever heard and to not stop till you're laughing no matter how hard you cringe at them when he starts.

✦ one of the most affectionate links, willing to do basically anything you ask him to and even things you didn't. give him the smallest hint you like a certain food? what do you mean it's a little suspicious he suddenly has all of its ingredients for it - he simply wanted to try it himself, can you tell him if it tastes right?

✦ He hates to see anyone crying, especially his significant other, nine times out of ten it’ll end up with him crying at your side but he’s always there at your side to cheer you up. If you can’t bring yourself to speak about whatever is upsetting you though? Luckily for him a simple kiss of your tears is enough to show him the memory that hurt you. Thankfully it also goes for the happier ones.

✦ Your smile and praise is something he simply lives for, headpats being his favourite way to receive it, leave him alone with belongings for too long though and when you come back he’s standing next to them with a blinding smile having fused a lot of them to each other or to something he thinks would be useful for you to have. Granted the journal flame thrower combination might not have been his brightest moment. 

✦ the same desire can come out in other ways though, such as giving you different nicknames with his personal favourite calling you his sundelion. Sometimes he really shows how much he likes that nickname by making you flowercrowns as surprises. Granted every now and then he takes it a little too far, telling you you’re all he needs to heal from the gloom instead of taking any real treatment.

Tending the fire is probably one of the easiest and most calming tasks I could’ve been given today, it’s nice to have something to zone out with after a whole day on the road. Not that I can complain about it though, we didn’t run into any monsters or other threats and travelling was calm. Who’s trying to get my attention by tapping me on the back though?

“[name]? Mind if I come sit with you for a bit, I'd like to get to know you better if that's alright.”

“Yeah of course Tears, If we’re going to be traveling together for a while it makes a lot of sense too.”

This man is a sweetheart I can tell, just from saying yes to him he’s already got the most coy smile on his face; it’s like his face is practically glowing from it when he sits. Shuffling closer to my side almost like he’s asking if it’s alright for him be be this close, with the way the firelight is illuminating him is making me question if the warmth on my face is really from the fire or not now. Just distract yourself with something before you get any redder. 

“Oh? You’ve got something in your hair, one second-”

The moment I plucked the stick out of his hair he froze up, his cheeks flushing before relaxing. 

“Are - are you good? Sorry I should’ve asked first.”

“No, no, no it’s alright I just… didn’t expect it?”

“Yeah I know, next time I’l-”

“Actually would you um mind playing with my hair? I ah never really get the chance to relax like this.”

Well isn’t that simply adorable, I would be heartless to say no to such a request. Besides, I know wild has some of the softest hair possible so the chance to play with it? No way am I going to miss that if all that visible dye hasn’t fried it to bits.

“If that’s what you want then I won’t say no.”

“Really?”Is he - no he can’t be, or maybe… is he so starved of affection that he’d tear up over something this small, the more I think about it, it does make sense. Playing with his hair is so relaxing I almost missed the fact that he was starting to tear up more, all I can hope for is that they’re not from him being upset.

It was small things, things you had always done. Giving him a pencil when he forgot his own, saving the red grapes because he hates green ones, sliding him the answers to questions that he doesn’t know.

It was a hard habit to grow out of after being friends for so long. You did try, you wanted to hate him for abandoning you. Wanted to be bitter, but he was just that boy from middle school, from kindergarten.

You did appreciate that even though you weren’t friends, whenever Tommy and Carol tried something he’d get them to leave you be.

He was your first real friend, and it was hard watching him become a completely different person overnight. People change. It’s just a shame that Steve Harrington had to become the King of Hawkins High.

Stood in the lunch line, you slid your tray across smiling softly at the lunch ladies. Finally getting to the end of the counter you picked up a fruit cup, you’d been wanting strawberries all day so this was perfect.

Heading to sit on a lunch table, you picked at a sandwich, hating your past self for not getting up 15 minutes earlier to pack your own lunch.

That was when you heard voices behind you, “It’s literally a fruit cup Steve, I’m sure you’ll live.” Tommy.

“Yeah I’ll live, it’s just one of the only decent things to eat they have.”

“Oh no, rich boy will have to starve until he gets home and his maid makes him a 3 course meal,” Carol teased.

Sighing to yourself, you’d all of a sudden gone off your food. Deciding that you’d go and sit with your friend in the art room you stood from the table. Slinging your bag over your arm, you held the tray in the other.

You knew that Steve had money, but his parents were also assholes, as soon as he could make box mac and cheese they’d leave him alone for weeks at a time. That house was big for an adult, but for a 13 year old it was like a castle.

Walking past your old friend, you placed the fruit cup down in front of him, not stopping to look at anyone. You slid your tray onto the rack with the other dirty ones and were on your way.

It was the end of the day, and you couldn’t wait to go home, your stomach was screaming for some good food.

“Hey wait up!” a voice called, a familiar one, but no it couldn’t be for you. A hand landed on your shoulder. “Hey, didn’t you hear me call you?”

“Sorry, I didn’t think you were taking to me. Hi Steve.”

“Hi,” he smiled.

“What can I do for you?”

“I um … I just wanted to say thank you, for the fruit cup.”

“Oh yeah no worries, was that all?”

“Y-yeah,” he nodded.

“Right, I’ll see you.”

“See you.” You went to walk out of the door, but the Harrington boy called your name. “Yeah?”

“Did you … did you want to hang out?”

His eyes looked scared, afraid that you’d reject him. He’d never grown out of the habit of picking his nails when he was nervous. Giving him a soft smile you spoke, “Sure, I’d like that.”

The plan was to meet at Benny’s, you went there a lot when you were younger. You’d hang out, catch up, all that fun stuff. You didn’t know why you were nervous, it was just Steve.

Sure it’d been 3 years since you had a conversation with the boy, but he was still Steve Harrington. Your best friend. Well ex- best friend.

Driving along you were making good time, you were meeting Steve at 5:30 and it was now just past 5. The roads weren’t super busy so you could get there a bit earlier, and then try and calm down.

It would be fine, you’d go, have milkshakes, chat, have burgers, chat, have another milkshake, drive home and probably not talk to him for another 3 years of your life.

“Hey watch out!” a woman screamed as her son fell of his bike and into the road, right in front of you. Swerving the car, you stomach lurched.

The force of the turn making it uncontrollable, slamming you into a tree. Your head hit the steering wheel, blood falling down. “Ow, god my head,” you whined, trying to figure out what had happened.

It was so fuzzy, everything felt like it was going in slow motion. Ringing filled your ears and your head pounded, eyes growing heavy as you let your head rest against the wheel.

You’d just close your eyes for a second, just one second.

He’d been here for 45 minutes now, he looked like a fool. You’d stood him up. He understood that he wasn’t a good friend for leaving you to fend for yourself in highschool, but seriously.

Sighing to himself, he pushed up from the booth, leaving a tip on the table and headed out to his car. He needed to see you, needed to know why you didn’t come.

Driving to your house seemed like the best idea, that way you could talk with nobody else around. It’d be relaxed and comfortable.

Raising a brow as he drove past a tow truck pulling a car away from a tree, ouch that must of hurt. Hopefully everyone was okay.

Soon enough he arrived at your place, parking just a few doors down he walked up, hoping your mother and father would remember who he was. He changed, but not that much.

As he was ready to ring the bell, your mom opened the door. “Oh uh hi,” he said.

“Steve honey, hello,” she sounded out of breath. “I was just wondering if Y/N was here?”

“Y/N,” she began to tear up, “They’ve been in an accident, I’ve just come back pick up their things.”

“An accident?”

“A kid came into the road, they didn’t hit them but they hit a tree. Hit their head.”

He thought back to the scene he’d come across a few moments before. Holy shit. It was your car. How could he not recognise it was yours.

Guilt flooded his chests. He had been angry at you for not showing up. You had been on the way. You’d saved a kids life and risked your own. You were hurt. In the hospital and he was mad.

“Steve,” your mom spoke, “Would you like to come with me to see them?” His eyes were glassy and he sniffed, “Would you mind?”

“Come on Honey.”

Waking up your whole body hurt. What happened? The lights were so bright. Where were you? Beeping sound filled the room you were in, unfamiliar bed clothes covered you and a hand rested in yours.

You squinted, looking at a familiar face, “Steve?”

“Oh my god, you’re awake!” the boy exclaimed, “Hang on let me just get a nurse.”

“Nurse?” you asked, confused. Pushing yourself up, Steve ran to your side, “Hey take it easy!”

“What happened?”

“You don’t remember?”

“No,” you said, rubbing your eyes, “I was coming to meet you.”

“You got into a crash,” he said, taking your hand softly. Scrunching your face, you remembered bits and pieces.

“Is the little boy okay?” Steve couldn’t help but laugh at that, of course you’d be more worried about someone else. “He’s fine. Him and his mom brought you some flowers.”

“I’m sorry I didn’t make it to the diner.”

“Please don’t apologise, it wasn’t your fault.”

“I should’ve been there.”

“Like I should’ve been there for the past 3 years,” he sighed.

“Steve-“ he cut you off.

“No, I’m so sorry. I hate that I abandoned you, you’re my best friend and I just left you and when I try and fix it you get hurt!”

“Stevie, that wasn’t your fault.”

“Yes it was! If I hadn’t of left you we wouldn’t have had to meet up and catch up, you wouldn’t have driven past that kid. You’d be okay.”

“I am okay.”

“You’ve got stitches!”

“I do?” you asked, reaching up to touch your forehead. “Don’t! Gosh don’t touch, it’ll hurt,” Steve said.

“Sorry mom.”

“Oh shush.”

“It wasn’t your fault, it wasn’t my fault. It was an accident, and I’m okay. I promise,” you said, squeezing the boys hand. “I want us to be friends I’ve really missed you.”

“I’ve missed you too Stevie,” you smiled at the boy, “But there is no way in hell I’m hanging out with Tommy and Carol.”

“Oh I wouldn’t do that to you, they’re horrible.”

“Why are you friends with them?”

“Honestly, I have no idea.”

“Well it’s okay, you’ve got me now.”

Rubbing his thumb over the back of your hand he laughed softly, “Yeah I do, and I don’t plan on ever leaving you again.”

“I’ll hold you to that Harrington.”

The days felt increasingly empty in the place that was supposed to be his mind. At an amusement carnival that had now become a rollercoaster of endless emotions.

There he was, sitting, letting out a sigh that not even he knew was contained. His chapped lips curved into a small “oh,” the faint hisses of boredom were filling that gloom, that empty space that urgently needed to be filled. Or everything would collapse…Again.

His eyes, swollen from crying, wandered lazily through the dark corners, his mind was blank, but not in a good way, he was not “blank” as people describe an episode of ecstasy. He was blank because he decided to submerge into the deep sadness that crossed his being.

As if that were not enough, and although it did not help much, he was constantly visited by someone who claimed to hate him. He harassed him as if it were a hobby, his favorite pastime.

“You arrived!” It trailed from his lips, his eyes falling on the figure standing erect in front of him, his sadistic smile appearing not to intimidate him.

“Of course you do, brat…It's not like you know anyone else, or like there's a single person who likes you.” His voice was full of sarcasm and loaded with supposed hatred. Unlike before, the mocking and malicious laugh he let out every time he humiliated or tried to humiliate Alfred was no longer there. It had slowly vanished with the wind.

Slowly, his hatred dissipated, if there was even hatred beneath those cold, hard layers of his suit, fur, skin, bones and everything else.

“Anyway, what are you doing sitting there?”

“There's nowhere else to go…I can't do anything else.” His tone was void of any emotion except sadness, the sadness was perceptible. You would notice even if you were miles away.

However, as unlikely as it seemed, the sadness was mixed with a warm tone of joy? or maybe not. It was as if the dark, empty room now glimmered as it welcomed its guest.

“And you plan to stay there until you rot?”

Again, that tone full of feigned hatred. He forced himself to play the bad guy role, even though he didn't really want to. Even if his mind screamed at him to stop harassing Alfred, his ego would never allow it. For nothing in the world would he allow himself to stoop to such a level. For nothing in the world he would help someone who "hates with every fiber of his being."

Or at least, that's what he claims…

“No, but where do you want me to go? I can only wander around…I won’t get anything.”

Alfred's voice echoed again in each of the dark corners, in what remained of the Playhouse, in its safe place turned into ruins.

“I didn't ask you if you wanted to get something. I’m just saying get up now, your ass will freeze.”

The sentence itself was stupid, how could his flat ass freeze if he couldn't even feel pain in that place? Anyway, Pickles just wanted to annoy him.

“Where do you want me to go then? I don’t want to be alone.”

"I don't know, maybe to lose you in hell…This way I can annihilate Jews and make soaps with them without having to hear your unbearable voice."

His frown and mocking expression grew, if that was possible.

Alfred stood up without protest, his eyes avoiding contact with the other. Then he just walked aimlessly, trying to get to the other corner, but in reality there was no corner, it was just an illusion to convince him not to try to escape.

“Where are you going?” Pickles muttered under his breath, clearing his throat right after his murmur. “I mean…Get lost, brat. I don't want to see your disgusting face again!”

His complaint did not get a response, only the sound of retreating footsteps filled Pickles' ears. It was strange, his words always ended up making Alfred cry, but now he was just walking away.

Suddenly feeling a pang of anger, or desperation perhaps, his arm reached out almost involuntarily to stop Alfred, his grip strong enough to hold him there, but not enough to leave a mark.

“Wait, brat.”

“Didn't you want me to leave?!” For the first time, he had raised his voice at him, but the tone of his voice was pathetic as he tried to break free from Pickles' grip, “Let go of me!”

“Don't think I'll let you go, you moron.”

“I told you to let me-

Alfred stopped dead, his breath seeming to be drained from his lungs a few seconds later. Piclkes had grabbed him by the neck, lifting him from his spot, his scowl intensifying, his black eyes shining with jealousy.

Could he let it slip away just like that?

Well the answer is no.

“I'm not going to let you get out of here, you hear? I don't allow you to get close to anyone other than me. It boils my blood to see you even look at another, it turns my stomach to see you smile at Dominatrix, that's why I made sure there is no other left who can take you away from me.”

He didn't care that it was killing him here and now, the sick jealousy he felt was clouding his mind.

To the point that I couldn't hide anything from him…

“That's why I destroyed this place, I turned it into ashes just for you, for us. I made sure to kill anyone who dares to lay an eye on you…I killed them, because I can't stand the fact that someone breathes the air of your breath.”

“You're a fucking sick person.” Alfred drawled between labored breaths. “I told you to let go of me…” And he began to try to kick him, to desperately try to free himself as his consciousness drained out of him in a matter of seconds.

“Don't think I'll let you go.” He muttered under his breath, his grip on Alfred's neck loosening. But just a little.

“Please…” Alfred repeated, his hands clinging to Pickles' arms, getting no reaction from him. “I don't want to be alone again. “I don’t want to go back to reality.”

Then as his eyes were about to close, he was dropped to the ground with a thud, and the figure standing in front of him laughed, extending a hand to him.

“Are you stupid, idiot? Do you think I'll let you die? If you die I will too. As much as I want to make fun of your corpse for hours.”

“Don't tell me that.”

A sob escaped his lips, Pickles' hurtful words taking effect on him.

“Are you going to cry that easily? You won’t complain or anything?”

Alfred shook his head, another broken sob forced out. The thought of being alone hurt more than the recent strangulation.

“Why are you so mean to me? I never did anything bad to you…”

“Ugh, brat.” Pickles snorted, rolling his eyes and walking over him.

He took Alfred's face in his calloused hands, there was an uncomfortable feeling in his stomach, he would describe it as disgusting and unpleasant. But he refused to let it go. He refused to hold it back any longer.

“You're a nasty crybaby.” He continued, pulling the other's arm tightly, bringing his face closer to his.

“What are you doing?!” Alfred said breathlessly, trying to move away, but being prevented by the other's iron grip.

“I hate you, brat.” But he didn't mean it, judging from the way he then closed the distance between his lips, it was obvious that he didn't really hate him.

On the other hand, Alfred's heart seemed to LITERALLY burst out of his chest, blood rushing to his head in what seemed like just a blink, he was left speechless. And it wasn't because his mouth was occupied with Pickles's lips, but because that kiss seemed to take his breath away in a way that threatened to suffocate him.

“I hate you…” He repeated, his voice cutting like his claws, which held Alfred closely.

But I didn't hate him, it was impossible. His actions contradicted his words, which no matter how hurtful they intended, did not have a mere hint of a threat. Well, he was the kind of person who would say “I only do it because I feel sorry for you.” Even after the most passionate kiss a person could give or receive.

Neither of them could focus on anything but each other, Alfred's sadness faded, as did the evil in Pickles' eyes and voice. Nothing else could be perceived, and if that were not enough, when he opened his eyes, the warmth of the other's death grip was no longer there, at least not physically.

Alfred had returned to the world he hated more than the empty Playhouse, he had returned to reality. He still felt that suffocating pressure on his neck and the pain in his arms.

Now he would have an excuse to escape from reality, an excuse to return to his empty fair, which little by little was recovering its color…

Hilariously enough, and typical for radical feminists, this person completely fails to give any actual examples of the supposed transmisogyny in the other reviews? Nope!

The fact this reviewer said this, when there's plenty of reviews from trans women standing in solidarity with the rest of the queer community, and plenty of people giving personal descriptions from four years ago, which this reviewer refuses to believe are from real trans women, trans mascs, etc really takes the cake.

Please take a few minutes to leave a 1-star review on Shinigami Eyes, and warn any friends who might still be using it that the current developers are currently radical feminists who are marking intersex and trans activists Red for daring to care about issues that effect them.

The current developers are denying that "theyfab" is a hateful, transphobic slur, comparing "theyfab" to the descriptive term "transmedicalist", and doubling down on racism, intersexism, and hatred of trans men in their official Developers Responses on the reviews pages (pages 10-13 depending on the total # of reviews by the time you see this).

Since you mentioned only cats and a few other distant animals are sentient, does this mean foxes are getting their sentience removed? Midnight can talk to foxes in the books and even convinces some foxes to leave a patrol of cats alone (the foxes are WEIRDLY violent and talk about eating the cats too lmaoo).

I assume Hollyleaf's changes mean the Fox Cub Incident is either being moved or just removed entirely, I always found that small plot point interesting in face of all those "Non-cat in clan" AUs. WC is profoundly xenophobic already with just the cats, and I think it was a CATASTROPHIC mistake to make it so every animal is secretly intelligent but speaks animal language. Now every conflict between cats and their predators is an ethnic dispute! You're chasing out groups of people perfectly capable of reasoning if you bridged the language barrier, but they're also ACTUAL PREDATORS.

AT BEST; It's the same uncomfortable situations that Zootopia and Lion King ends up tripping over. In Zootopia, predators are used as an allegory for oppressed groups... but predators are MADE to eat prey. A rabbit is RIGHT to be terrified of a fox, twice its size with a jaw made for catching bunnies. In Lion King, lions have divine authority to rule over their dinner/subjects, and chase out any animal based on their personal ideology... which just so happens to only be leveraged against rival predator species.

(Nerd preemption: yes i know about lion guard. I do not think diverse Lion Cops were the solution you think it is.)

Carelessly adding sapience to "natural systems" often ends up accidentally justifying bigotry. Bigotry doesn't MAKE SENSE, it's bullshit we made up and perpetuate through culture, but food webs are completely logical. The rabbit fears the fox because the fox eats rabbits. The lion hates the hyena because they compete for the same food. Gazelles don't happily submit to an overlord who is divinely capable of deciding who should live and who should die, it's just nature.

So to summarize,

It was an awful idea to start with

It was executed in the worst possible way

In a series that is already plagued with xenophobic sentiment, this somehow made it even worse and more direct

If it was completely nuked it from the story, the series would be immediately better with minimal change. Holly caring for what is essentially the clan cat-equivalent of an exotic animal like a chimp or a tiger cub would have done the same thing

There is not even a glimmer of an idea here that justifies the poison that full sapience does to the wider implications of the series.

Don't even get me started on the Badger Debaucle in TNP, which is actually in my top 5 for most vile things in WC

So if I don't explicitly say that a species in BB is capable of true language, assume it is non-sapient. Talking animals like Midnight and Rat Leader are magical individuals-- gods, curses, etc.

“I know, I know,” Thorn threw his hands up in surrender, but the grin that curled on his lips couldn’t be wiped away. He leaned into Fox’s space, noses nearly brushing as he spoke, “I’ll make sure things are taken care of and that Senator Amidala gets the message from the Chancellor.”

Fox scoffed and ignored the rising flush on his cheeks as he turned back to the window looking out over the bustling city. This was ridiculous. He and his men should have been out there in the fight, getting dirty, knocking out clankers as they marched on. Instead, they were stuck on this sleepless planet as personal bodyguards and errand boys to Chancellor Palpatine. Honestly, he was more tired now than even after he’d had the floor wiped from under him in the hardest training simulation on Kamino, and this cheeky Commander wasn’t helping anything.

…Okay, he was. He trusted Thorn. There were few like him. He had the charisma of a man that had seen the galaxy despite hardly leaving Coruscant and the strength of a hundred shinies in just one fist alone. …Maybe Fox was exaggerating. Still, the point remained that he didn’t hate Thorn.

He just wished he would stop looking at him like that.

“Why are you still here?” He asked, feeling Thorn’s gaze raking over him.

Suddenly there was breath on the back of his neck, and Fox barely fought the shiver that raced up his spine. “Thorn—”

“You didn’t dismiss me, Commander.” Thorn’s voice was lower, deeper than it had been just a moment ago, wasn’t it?

It didn’t matter because Fox caught his gaze in the glass’s reflection, and he absolutely could not hide the way he’d bit his lip to keep himself from making a fool of himself. All he needed to do was give him permission to leave, right? Then he would be out of his hair for the time being and he could make himself another cup of caffe, or, if he was lucky, he could sneak in a five minute nap. That should suffice, shouldn’t it?

Fox stood a little straighter, then, “you’re dismissed.”

Thorn didn’t move.

“Did you hear me?” Fox questioned, glancing over his shoulder. He couldn’t actually see Thorn, but he could still feel him at his back, and the hairs on his neck stood as Thorn chuckled.

“Sorry, what was that?”

Fox grit his teeth. This man was unbelievable. Just who exactly did he think he was?

As Fox turned to face him and lean into his space as Thorn had done to him earlier, two things were made immediately obvious. For one, Thorn had been closer than he’d anticipated, and second, their lips were slotted together. It was a little awkward since Fox had had his mouth open to yell at him, but Thorn easily rolled with it, slid his tongue along his, had him whimpering before he could stop himself.

But that was where Fox stopped himself.

He jolted backward, putting himself against the window. In hindsight, it was only more of an invitation for Thorn to crowd him, and he did, stealing another kiss from him before he was able to come to his senses entirely.

“Thorn, s-stop,” Fox breathed, or maybe he didn’t. He was dizzy with heat, confusion written all over his face. Didn’t he just want this man gone? And now…

Thorn nodded, however, giving Fox the space he’d asked for without question. If Fox had his wits about him, he’d have seen the equally confused expression on Thorn’s face, and the flash of worry that lingered in his honey eyes.

“Fox—”

“You’re dismissed,” Fox repeated what he hadn’t been able to the first time and watched as Thorn hastily gathered himself, tossed his bucket back over his head, and left him alone.

Fox touched his lips, already missing the feeling of Thorn there.

BEHIND THE CURTAINS OF KNOWING YOUR FUTURE SPOUSE

No one asked for this, but I wanted to see if anyone else has these issues and if so I wanted to let you know that you’re not alone! So hello and welcome to my beautiful literature podcast on things I’ve experienced since knowing who my future spouse is!

For a little context, my future spouse (based on right now and if things go to plan lmao) is an influencer, but they won’t be an influencer by the time we meet, I’ve known about this connection between us for a year now.

I don’t hate the fact that they’re going to be out of influencing by the time we are together, however I don’t like that they’re gonna leave me for hours a day, like what do you mean you have to actually go out and go to work while I’m sad and alone at home?

I personally feel as though it’s one of the most isolating experiences, I feel like I need to be loyal to them although they’re probably not being loyal to me. I feel weird thinking about other people, and I’ve rejected an amount of love offers since, I was in a situationship recently that I ended since I knew that me and this dude would only date to date, and not date to marry. I don’t think I ever want to subject someone to dating me while I know that I’m going to end up with someone else, like I can give times, names, dates, it’s insane. My friends don’t understand it as they think it’s stupid to devote myself to someone who I may not even end up with based on timing (I will, or I’ll die) however I feel I know that I want to end up with this person, so why would I want to ruin that?

Dating and marrying this person links heavily into my career decisions, I’m working on going into the music industry, it’s so stagnant as I don’t know where to go after writing music, like how do I produce this shit??? So if we don’t end up together, it means I haven’t made it in the industry as I hoped I would.

Even when they do stupid stuff online that I don’t agree with, I feel like I need to be there to support them, like they’ve been semi cancelled a few times in the last 2 years and I’ve stepped back, moved onto something else but then been like “oh damn, my monkeys, my circus 😔” WHICH IS SO???? It’s certainly frustrating, that’s the best way to explain it.

Luckily for me, this bro is lonely, ain’t got no one to share a bed with, waiting for me fr fr lmaooo. But I hate seeing people say stuff about them like “I ship them with X” or saying something inherently out of pocket about them, although I’ll never voice it, it makes me feel so territorial, and I don’t even have the right to do that right now!!

Again back with the influencing stuff, they have a persona, I feel worried because what if I’m only into the person they perform as for their audience, and not their authentic self? And what if they end up feeling the same?? I mean Im assuming not since we’re gonna get married, but still brotherrrr.

Watching their downfall sucks, I feel privileged to be able to check up on this person every now and then since they’re public, but based on our connection and the next 2 years, their career is only taking a downwards turn until they change their profession, and then by then they might hop offline forever and I’ll die until we meet! (I’m very dramatic)

Constantly doubting myself and looking for more confirmation, someone could slap it into my face and I’d still question the authenticity until we are married with 5 kids, 3 cats and a dog (I don’t want 5 kids actually, that was a lie)

I like watching edits of them on TikTok, that’s a pro.

Yup, exactly! And trust, there is no way Harry puts anybody before Ginny. It is very clear in the books that she is the most important person to him. In HBP when Ron is hanging out with them Harry wants Ron to go away and leave them alone. In DH he is with R/Hr 24/7 and pines for Ginny and yearns to talk to Ginny.

I guarantee when GINNY is by his side he is never pining for Ron or Hermione's presence lmao. Ginny is his favorite, it's clear.

The only reason she doesn't know anything about the horcruxes or the prophecy is because Harry wasn't allowed to tell anyone else. It was legit part of the plot that he couldn't tell anyone else and its brought up over and over in the last book. He says he's not allowed to tell anyone else. Dumbledore's orders!

Ron!stans just don't want to admit it because they want to live inside Ron's ass. Also, Ron!stans think Ron favors Harry over Ginny when that isn't true either. It's actually very clear in the last two books how much Ron loves and cares for Ginny. Ron turns on Harry and gets angry at him for exactly TWO people: Hermione and Ginny. Both are more important to him than Harry (but he still loves Harry).

ALSO - Ron never lets anyone disrespect or insult Hermione....except Ginny lol.

In HBP Ginny calls out Hermione and makes fun of her for not understanding Quidditch and Ron is right there and says nothing. THAT is so telling to me. If ANYONE else insulted Hermione (and Harry even comments that Hermione looked hurt and stung), Ron would have shouted them down or hexed them. Ginny insulted Hermione in front of Ron and Ron was totally quiet lmao. That is the only time in the books Hermione gets insulted and Ron is quiet! That shows so much loyalty to Ginny! Because at the end of the day? If his sibling fights with someone else, he is not going to get in the middle. EVEN IF THEY FIGHT WITH HERMIONE.

TL:DR Ron and Harry both care about Ginny more than they care about each other. Hermione is the love of Ron's life yes, but his sister is still very important to him and Ron shows loyalty to Ginny even when she fights with Hermione.

This is so true. I never thought about ginny and hermione' fight in HPB w.r.t. ron but this makes so much sense.

I absolutely agree some ron stans are so annoying esp. on quora. I know hermione had flaws (and Ginny too)but some people just put all the blame on Girls and Harry and behave like ron can never do anything wrong.

Ron is very relatable flawed character( that's why i love him) rather than acknowledging it, they just like to pretend he is perfect. And they can't understand a simple fact siblings can be jerk to each other, it does not mean they hate one another.

The way some fic writers writes "after war" stories is just weird like not acknowledging Ginny's trauma and her role in war.

Ginny running after harry and harry just ignoring her and only hanging out with ron and Hermione. Harry ignoring and treating ginny like a shit is justified because "he is been through alot" and ginny is selfish for demanding anything from harry.

If ginny ever complains her whole family will tell her to stop being childish. Also, molly who has just lost her son will be back and call of harry after the war.

Harry is my favorite character in the series but still isn't this too much?

There is also lots of mysogynistic undertone like molly and hermione manipulating ginny to have a baby because harry wants kids.

While it was an interesting case, it lost me a bit as we were going through the names of the people involved. Also, I did expect someone who came to bleed out inside Charlie’s house to have a more personal connection to him. I find it ridiculous that packages which are sent to the precinct aren’t scanned for explosives, I mean, that’s the first thing you do when a package arrives at a police station.

Promo: Charlie with a bomb strapped to his chest! What’s not to love? Oh, by the way, remember what I said about concussions and getting hit a second time on the head in a short while? This is actually the ghost of Charlie Hudson strapped to a bomb. Also, he has an earbud, which is presumably to communicate with whoever is doing this? Can we use to tell Sarah goodbye please? If this is parallel to the Castle episode, Charlie is going to say “I love you” to… Rex :P

One more piece of useless trivia, a bomb is how we lost one of Rex’s partners in the Italian version (and of course Rex had to watch because why not torture the poor dog, as it was canonically his third partner that was killed). But somehow I’m certain that Charlie will manage to pull through.

The Sign - Ep 12

If you are a fan of The Sign and enjoyed the last episode, please do not read any further. Believe it or not, I don't want my negative opinion to affect your good mood 🤗

Okay, so I hated the finale 😆 The series ended exactly as I feared it would. With what was also the worst thing about the Last Twilight finale and why I hated CharlieBabe's relationship: namely, when one person call the shots in the relationship, makes all the decisions on their own, including the most drastic ones, and lies to the other a person "for their own good", and the series shows this as something positive and romantic. I hate these tropes, i.e. forced separations, fake deaths, making decisions for two without talking about it, and noble sacrifice without informing the other person about it. I hate showing it in a romantic light as the ultimate proof of love because it IS NOT proof of love. This only proves that 1) you don't trust the other person, 2) you don't believe that he or she is a rightful member of your relationship 3) you don't believe that you can talk to this person, that this person will help you, advise you, support you 4) you subconsciously question their intellectual and emotional abilities 5) you think that this person needs to be babied and you are the only adult in this relationship 6) this person does not deserve to make a decision in their OWN CASE, their OWN LIFE. Tharn decided to "save" Phaya and grandma by leaving with Chalathorn, he made the decision thinking what was best for them, but never considering IF THEY WANTED IT. The sight of grandma fainting, and later clutching her heart and losing strength as Phaya cries in the hospital scene, the sight of Phaya's utter despair as he is unable to function normally, go to work, live, who spends every waking moment looking for Tharn - yes, THIS is it the "life" that Tharn had so nobly sacrificed for. THARN NEVER EVEN THOUGHT TO ASK PHAYA AND GRANDMA IF THAT'S WHAT THEY WANTED. HE MADE THE DECISION FOR THEM, LIED TO THEM UNTIL THE LAST MOMENT AND LEFT THEM ALONE TO DEAL WITH THE CONSEQUENCES.

What I ABSOLUTELY HATE is that Tharn has NEVER even wavered in his decision, even though Phaya MANY TIMES, including on their last night, tells him, begs him not to leave him and to trust him, that Phaya will always be by his side. And I also ABSOLUTELY HATE the fact that when Tharn returns, Phaya tries to explain to him how hard it was for him, what a traumatic experience it was for him, and Tharn doesn't even let him finish. How can I support such an unequal relationship? How could I trust Tharn if I were Phaya? Our Dating Sim showed how such separations affect people's mental health. However, Lee Wan realizes this and when Shin Ki Tae breaks down, he lets him talk about his fear and then comforts him. And he doesn't shut him up.

I admit I lost it when Tharn said to Phaya and Doc "Please stop killing each other" lmao what? Are you equating your boyfriend who had to fight for his life and the guy who tries to kill him in every incarnation, including when he is still a child? What about this sick symmetry? 😆 Of course, nothing compares to the fact that Tharn stayed with Chalathorn for a whole year because he felt sorry for him, while his grandmother (the heart-clutching one, you know which one) may have had a heart attack, and both she and Phaya are in agony and losing their health ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I loved Tharn, he was my favorite character in The Sign. And in the end he became the worst.

What was really funny was that in the end, NOTHING depended on Tharn and Phaya, it was Chalathorn - a murderer, manipulator and kidnapper - who made them happy 😄 And finally, they even thanked him and Phaya promised him to take care of Tharn, as if the doctor were the father of the lovely girl, who was being given away for marriage. Just kill me now 👌 Their love turned out to be completely pointless, because everything was decided by CHALATHORN, and everything related to their relationship took place offscreen and was actually a result of coincidence. Chalathorn even gave life to Tharn, gave him his soul. Thus proving that Phaya was useless to Tharn. Amazing 👌 Their love is based on fear, death, and separations and making the same mistakes, instead of taking action together, trust, faithfulness to each other, and mutual support. In their relationship, only Phaya makes an effort, I stopped feeling Tharn's love a long time ago. Tharn has always just surrendered to what is BAD happening around him (because Tharn/Wansa always surrenders to Chalathorn, not relies on Phaya/Garuda). The worst thing is that Tharn from the beginning of the series WAS NOT LIKE THAT 😤

THE POINT OF THIS SERIES WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THAT THIS TIME PHAYA AND TAHRN WOULD OVERCOME KARMA TOGETHER. They were to break this cycle with precise instructions from the abbot. Not only did they not overcome it, but they repeated it exactly to the letter. This raises the question: what was the point of all this, if Phaya and Tharn repeated the cycle of love, despair and death and got out of it thanks to someone else's decision? Is this a series then… about Chalathorn? 😂 HOW CAN I SUPPORT THIS RELATIONSHIP AND BELIEVE IN THIS LOVE WHEN ULTIMATELY NOTHING DEPENDED ON THEM AND THEY DID NOTHING TO SAVE THEMSELVES AND SAVE THIS LOVE. Oh, by "they" I meant Tharn.

What else was weird:

how is it that Doc is suddenly so sacrificial and willing to let Tharn go when he was willing to destroy his own soul just to kill Phaya and take Tharn like 5 min ago???

where are the Chart scenes? Khem and Thongthai?

random scene with Phaya's sister and Dao who is in France? Anyone interested in this?? So there was time for THIS, but not for Chalathorn and Tharn?

The finale otherwise had no emotional impact in the most important scenes:

Tharn joined the police to solve the mystery of his father's death, Akk had his entire agenda in this matter. However, after the killer is arrested (with Chalatorn's help lol) it doesn't feel like it has any major impact on either of them

Chart almost died. He didn't even deserve a single scene with Akk, who would thank him or just talk to him (I don't care about it, just to close this thread)

Khem almost died. We only see him once more after that. He's fine 🤷‍♀️

there are no scenes of Tharn reuniting with Yai, grandmother, or even the abbot

the sex scene is boring, repetitive, with weird music at the beginning that doesn't match the mood, the sight of them kneeling on the bed with pixelated butts, their dicks touching, with their pants around their knees is nothing but ridiculous. The whole scene is overshadowed by the fact that Tharn is lying to Phaya, that he's giving him something nice before he leaves (pity fuck) and taking fond memories with him (selfish fuck), and basically we all know it's a goodbye fuck. That is, everyone knows except Phaya, who, like Babe and Mhok, is oblivious at this point and happy to have it all taken away from him by someone he loves.

Actually, the last time this show was nice was when they still called each other bolster and jellyfish 😄 Also, if I'm not mistaken, all but one of the flashbacks in this episode were from episodes 1-5, plus the sex scene from ep. 7. Because back then the series was still good and it was about PhayaTharn. How could such a perfect series fuck up so much?

What was good about the finale? Just like in Last Twilght: the hets. Thank you Yai for being there and maintaining your integrity from start to finish 💖

i have a lil rant about how tragic readers character is because i can’t stop thinking😭 (i was also wondering if i could hop onto the anon train and be 🌺 anon if that’s possible as at this rate im living in your requests rent free)

So, i did a request earlier about how Conway was the only person by readers side and i can’t help but think the pain reader must feel as she watches her closest friends go to Finnick’s parties and leave her alone in her most vulnerable state. like she must feel like the biggest second choice in the world because SHE was the one who would help them when they were drunk and unable to do stuff. SHE was the one who stuck by their side and only sung their praises. She has done so much for her friends, yet they still chose Finnick’s parties over her. i can’t help but feel like she resents everyone but Conway for that, and Conway also definitely resented them and probably even gave them a lecture about it.

This poor girl lost the only guy she’s ever loved romantically, and she so badly wishes she could return Conway’s feelings but she knows she can’t. She holds conway so close to her heart, but he isn’t the one in her heart, because that’s Finnick. it will always be Finnick. no matter how many times he says that she was “too much”, she can’t help but still be in love with him.

What’s also so sad is that these parties were her get away from her bad home life. She feels so neglected in her own home so she parties and drinks and surrounds herself with people, but in the end Finnick took that get away from her too- she’s not only neglected in her own home, but now in her social life too.

While Finnick and his sweet girl did have their good ending (at least for a few years), that whole situation still caused some problems at the beginning of their new relationship. Finnick can’t help but feel so much immense guilt when his sweet girl begins to distance herself for a bit because she’s scared of being “too much”. She was so affected by his words that she struggled to believe him when he reassured her that she wasn’t- but no matter how much reassurance he did, his venom was still in her veins and it always traveled back up to her heart :(

right, like tallulah still visits her after the parties, bottle of alcohol in hand, but like nobody's insisting they throw their own events instead of going. they just accept that it sucks she won't be there and they'll see other times. but yeah, she's the one holding their hair back, the one making sure they get home safe. and people say they're on her side but they still go without her. and whenever school is in session or the looked over career district trainings happen conway is quick to admonish people for it even though reader insists it's fine, that it's okay. because maybe it hurts internally and makes her feel second best, but at least she still has friends who hang out with her besides that.

and even if what finnick says those things for a couple weeks, until he hates himself too much to continue, and even though it hurts reader immeasurably, she can't help but notice the way he's still always around and watching her. the way some of the things tallulah gives her look like they were picked out by someone else. so she keeps pandering to the idea that he loves her from afar so she does too. regardless of how much it hurt her.

and yes, she's basically allowed free reign of the district because nobody cares if she's at home as long as she does her job and brings back the money to show it. so she had a huge social environment to pad herself with, friends to hang out with constantly and a large chunk of this was parties or finnick thrown hangouts, which she now can't do. so she has to wait for the days finnick is in the Capitol for people to be free or the off days he doesn't do anything because then she can be just as occupied as she was before.

at first, post-reaping, she isn't worried about being too much because she's thinking about survival, how she could die, and how much she missed finnick. then she wins, she's already feeling immense guilt, which isn't helped by finnick going into mentor mode for a while. so this gives reader plenty of time to build up her walls so that she doesn't ever have to ask for help, to be the comforter not the comforted, and just generally not asking for as much as she wants or needs from finnick. so he has to learn to read her because him saying she's not needy doesn't have as much affect it did when he said she was.
