when the weather is fine.
(this review may contain spoilers)
gue waktu itu pernah nanya di salah satu base kdrama di twitter mengenai rekomendasi drama korea yang cocok untuk healing, dan when the weather is fine jadi salah satu judul yang paling banyak disebut oleh orang-orang. karena penasaran, maka dengan tekad yang kuat (gue ngga begitu terlalu suka park min young soalnya) buat nonton.
Tumblr media Tumblr media

MEET THE PARENTS !
HEADCANON: BUILD A BRIEF PROFILE FOR THE MUSE’S PARENTS.
FATHER; GENERAL INFORMATION.
full name: Seo Chunghyun  date of birth: November 14th, 1964  nationality: Korean  orientation: Straight as an arrow, never explored it, the narcissist he was. Had a string of marriages, ending in his favored wife Kim Eunshil  marital status: Married  occupation: CEO of Daehan Securities up until his death religion: Himself, the narcissist he was  status: 6 feet under in a columbriam in Seoul (murdered when his older son finally snapped)
FATHER; APPEARANCE.
height/weight: 5 foot 11 (180cm), lithe and self-assured despite his age.  hair: grey-streaked black as of his death  eyes: brown distinguishing features: Walked with an aggressive swagger in life, seeming taller than he actually was.  face claim: Park Junghak (as per the show)
FATHER; BACKGROUND.
hometown: Mawon-gu, South Korea, moved to Seoul after his father passed on and became wildly successful.  financial status: Extremely affluent, inheritor of Daehan Securities and made it where it currently was. Stresses this constantly, and viciously pits his three children against each other to be heir of his company.  education level: Master’s in Business Administration with a minor in Computer Science.  father: Seo Jiwan, a computer engineer who’d raised Chunghyun alone. Often neglectful due to his work and ended up spoiling Chunghyun terribly through material wealth when he was growing up, which bred a deep megalomaniac complex and severe narcissistic streak in the boy that knew nothing else.  mother: Doesn’t know his mother, for she walked out of Jiwan’s life after Chunghyun was born because she’d been sick of him neglecting them both, abandoning Chunghyun with him. Jiwan overcompensated with this as a result, turning into the disaster of a father we know today. His mother’s betrayal also meant that Chunghyun never could settle down with 1 spouse, and instead slept around with others in a bid to prove that no women would ever be able to live up to his expectations.  siblings: A half-brother he never knew of that still lives in Mawon-gu, who eventually became a politician by the name of Jo Maengduk. Evil truly runs in their blood- though it seems that Representative Jo’s son Gongmyung didn’t turn out half as bad...  spouse: Seo Mijoo (first marriage), Kim Eunshil (current marriage as of his death)  children: Seo Jiyoon (born 1980), Seo Inwoo (born 1985), Seo Jihun (born 1990)
MOTHER; GENERAL INFORMATION.
full name: Seo Mijoo  date of birth: October 14, 1963  nationality: Korean  orientation: Aromantic asexual, married out of obligation  occupation: Florist, then homemaker when she’d gotten married and moved religion: Prays to Jacheongbi, the goddess of agriculture, but her bloodline is inexplicibly tied to Geolughanhwangso, the land spirit of abundance and agriculture, something she was never aware of until her older son inherited her abilities.  marital status: Married as of her death to a huge fucking mistake  status: Deceased, passed on suddenly in 1990
MOTHER; APPEARANCE.
height/weight: 5 foot 4 (165cm), strong-looking despite her size  hair: Black streaked with red, potentially from her unique lineage  eyes: Brown  distinguishing features: Tattoos of triangular markings across either shoulder blade, painted yellow, black and white that isn’t immediately visible. Her older son inherited the same markings when his powers manifested.  face claim: Kim Mikyung
MOTHER; BACKGROUND.
hometown: Seongbuk-gu, South Korea, moved to Seoul when she got married to the shitfest of a man who’d knocked her up.  financial status: Rich and affluent at the time of her death.  education level: Degree in business management, specifically in horticulture.  parents: Was communally raised in Seongbuk-gu when her parents went missing due to a hunting accident. No memory of either parent, and never looked into searching for them, though she did inherit the strange ability to occasionally hear and communicate with vegetation when she returned after the traumatic incident. She never paid it much heed, even up to her death.  siblings: n/a, was an only child.  spouse: Seo Chunghyun, whom she had a whirlwind romance with taking him through the woods to introduce him to the place. Was pregnant soon after, and accepted his offer to return to Seoul with him (while unaware that he’d actually had a daughter already from wedlock), if not to get away from the demands of the plants that seem to keep trying to reach out to her.  children: Seo Inwoo (born 1985), her pride and joy and biggest regret.
Tagged by @drownblessed, thank you! (now we know why Inwoo is terrible and messed up lol)
Tagging whoever wants to do this!!

***Note:  Even though “잡시” by 도연명 is the second poem in the book, I decided to skip it because the poem is over a thousand years old and the vocabulary was very difficult for me--might do that with more poems in the book depending on how hard they are***

돌다 (dolda) = to turn around, spin
