As a proud connoisseur of bitchy Essek since the year of our lord 2020, I'm so glad to see him thriving. He's two seconds from rolling his eyes at every moment. He cattily argued with his partner's ex in the back of a smut shop. He hasn't been filled in on half of what he needs to know while traveling with these chucklefucks. He wears his sleep mask while camping. He's back in the location of his honeymoon playing babysitter. At some point, he's going to have to verbally identify an Aeorian beast as a sex monster. Every day, Essek Thelyss wakes up.

"essek stays away post-canon because he doesn't want to endanger the nein while he's on the run" absolutely valid, but also i raise you: essek knows about the one (1) time the nein were in charge of protecting an important mage and she survived approximately one week before getting violently murdered while they were — direct quote — "havin' bacon"

I am so full of love and light about how the episode ended, getting to see the home the wizards have built together, all the little details of their shared life (Essek wearing and sniffing one of Caleb’s scarves, the farmhouse painting, the couples portrait, the vegetable garden) laid out before us. Matt handing over describing the house to Liam, describing some of the paintings himself but also letting Liam do some too, that collaboration in creating the place their characters live and love in. Laura chiming in too with the dicks on the walls from Jester! XD it feels so lived in and well-loved and it makes my heart so happy.
