I think people are too focused on the "Gaia" thing in the speculation about the next Pokémon region. A few previous code names were also Greek. Now it's also been leaked that it's going to be set on an archipelago, so I personally think that the Caribbean, New Zealand or even Indonesia are more likely candidates. With "Gaia", I'm kinda thinking that there might be plans to lean more heavily into the environmentalist themes Pokémon usually has. I'd kinda say with that information the Galapagos islands would be a shoe-in given those two things, but those are already the inspiration for Lental from New Pokémon Snap. With "too much water" as a hint I'm going to lock in the Caribbean as my final answer, and not just because I personally think it would be a really cool region that I've had designs for myself.

I know having zoro be the miester is a weird choice but hear me out! I was mainly inspired off this crossover artwork and the brainrot led me to develop my own au ideas around it. I've structured it so non of SE's canon deathsythe's exist, including(!!!) Justin Law. So the idea that a weapon can become a deathsythe independently has not been proven yet.

Kuina (weapons)'s inner conflict revolves around this, and her father (miester) is the one who perpetuates the idea further. it's been a while since I've read/watched SE so I will need a huge refresher on everything but I do think the themes of weapon/miester inequality could translate the sexism one surrounding swordsmanship' well. Zoro after her death decides to take on her dream along his own of being the world's first(and best!) independent deathsythe.

and while Luffy does become his miester later on (their "my ambition means nothing if I cannot protect my captain" moment) they're still pretty independent, zoro fighting like Justin as a lone weapon and Luffy fighting with his fists and DF (which are translated as special abilities that are passed down through souls of previous users (ace and sabo angst I'm looking at you)).

@spyder-fyre (hope you don't mind the tag!) pointed out how Luffy is probably alot more similar to black star in terms of personality so Im thinking about how I'll work with that, I do think black stars 'larger-than-life' ambitions are very similar to Luffy's too! not entirely sure what I want to do w him yet but I'm open to ideas and will probably do a re-read for ideas too.

It's extremely fascinating and frightening to me how hateful some of you people are towards shuro, a man who is clearly depicted as japanese, (a man who could look like me or literally any member of my family in real life) for being a normal, complex, and flawed human being.

Why do you single him out for getting frustrated with and mad at laios when chilchuck and marcille do the same literally all the time? What's the difference between them and shuro?

Why do you feel the unnecessary need to protect these white women from a japanese man?

You people get scared the moment a character that is a person of color isnt a quiet little model minority or a sweet mammy archetype. You grasp at your pearls the moment they are revealed to have complex personalities and histories; when they feel negative, big emotions that are literally part of the human experience. Or god forbid, when they show romantic interest in a pure, helpless, little white woman.

And when a person of color stops behaving good and docile the way you want, when they decide that theyre not going to put up with a situation that makes them uncomfortable or miserable or RIGHTEOUSLY FURIOUS, they become the bad guy. As seen countless times in the medias demonizing depiction of the Black Lives Matter protests and even of black people who get punished for just living their lives. It happens so often i shouldnt have to reiterate it to you but it somehow keeps flying over your head.

@zexalmonth R - Ruins I love yugioh's past life drama but I hate yugioh's lack of new character designs for said past lives when it really doesn't make sense for them to be the same. So Rae and I came up with an alternate look for Nasch that keeps his hair and eye color but doesn't look like the exact same person. And we wanted him to be in his 20s or early 30s. So here's a drawing over a screencap and a different pic I drew earlier in my own style.

After careful consideration (and excessive testing) Tiny Vessel arrived at the conclusion that he does not have a true preference of shape other than one might be more appropriate for this time of the year. His only true qualm is, that both are way too big.

I dislike takes that Danse would be just as conservative in modernized aus when it's clearly shown his staunch views of things come from his time in the Brotherhood and his deep-rooted desire to belong to something with a greater purpose.

Not to mention lines that show much more open-mindedness that get overlooked for his harsher sentiments when you first meet him. Like the oppurtunity to be a part of something is why Danse fell so far into Brotherhood dogma and it doesn't negate the offense things he does but I feel like it's just lazy to be like "hmmm he'd def be racist" just so it aligns to his BoS beliefs.
