Who the fuck were Lila's family? Her backstory in season 2 was that her parents are brits, but in this timeline she just has like 3 or 4 random american aunties and uncles and it's never explained? We're just expected to accept that she has this gaggle of family who are ready to babysit her plot device children.

barty is a narcissist. is it surprising? prehaps not, but what it is is very telling of his behaviour and upbringing.

narcissistic personality disorder is of course a difficult thing to describe or analyse over such short and relatively lighthearted writing but i will attempt my best.

barty's character takes various forms of materialisation in my mind and subconscious, however, there are specific traits i never fail to assign him. he is insecure, with no sense of self, has dramatic delusions of grandiosity and out of all the people who viscerally hate him he does the most. if we consider this hypothesis, we are swiftly presented with the scaffolding of what we can imagine barty's childhood to have been. we can easily paint in our minds the crouch's family situation. in the center of the canvas is an unattentive man, careless for nothing but his own grand ambitions. on his right, is a sick but beautiful woman, who heart only beat for barty's own, whose life has been sold and whose future holds only despair. her present, however, lies between her frail and pale hands, her only son. around the gracious trio nothing but high grey walls with cloudy and mighty windows giving out on a large and empty, dull, green land. with no stable structure on which to climb, the lonely child grabs on the unsteady and burning one, his mother. I'm fairly certain barty hates her, so much that he can only ever love her. she the poison in his veins, threatening his life and she is the very organ keeping him alive. her death was the death of his soul, he was sure of it. it left him wondering whether climbing that shaky rock to avoid the flood was worth the fall once it yeld under the stream. it was a humiliation to be alive and he would do all he could to never feel shame ever again.

the way he grew up greatly shaped him, or rather, his identity was never shaped due to it. he doesn't exist, he isn't anything and i would go as far as saying he views himself as dead. he devotes his life to the worship of gods he sees around. the god of knowledge, of beauty, of evil and voldemort ( maybe he saw him as the manifestation of all of the deities he followed for so long ). he had gone mad, and maybe he allowed himself to go mad, to be liberated and exist, freely, shamelessly, boundlessly. he sacrificed a life for eternity, an entire existence for a unique remembrance.

and i think within the context of his life he is somewhat dearly and betwitchingly admirable

Death note au but its just the original light switching places with the parody love note light after he tripped on air. The worst part is that, the yagami household is currently being surveillance and now L is confused with how Light is acting.

I just watched love note, parody of death note and light yagami from love note was so innocent 😭 he's both smart, cause he's a valedictorian, and also not, because he struggled with pronouncing death and misunderstood it as someone's name.

This is how I imagined it. The original light comes back home and notices that there aren't any people in the house. He opens the lock and goes to his room and notices that his tell if someone went in his room were all triggered. So in turn he avoids talking to ryuk and lays down on his bed. Ryuk tries to talk to him, but after not getting a response, he gets annoyed. Light tries to get up but then seemingly tripped on air (ryuks fault) and bashes his head on the floor.

This gets the attention of watari, L and Soichiro and they waited for a few moments and light seems to not be moving. Worried, soichiro gets up to immediately call the ambulance but was stopped by L who notices light moving, groaning and gets himself up. After Light finally seems to recollect himself and notices the blood, he screams and panics. And goes downstairs or to the bathroom to get a first aid kit. After bandaging up his banged up head poorly he sighs in relief and says "phew, that could have gone worse. I'm really glad that I didn't hurt myself too much from falling, who knew the floors were slippery!" And smiles before skipping to his room and opening a porn book lmfao.

(I just imagine that L would be thrown off because this does not check out his profile for kira. Since light yagami seems... childish. But I would imagine that love note light might slip up about panic because he can't see his diary (death note) anymore and he has a SISTER?? uhhhh okay.)

Back to love note, similar things happen, Ln! Light trips on air, not because of ryuk- the floors is just that slippery! He forgot he just waxed the floors before he went out! And gets his head bashed onto the floor. Again, love note watari, L and soichiro saw it. And L was like "uhh... case solved?" Of course, watari disagrees and urges soichiro to call an ambulance.

(Im debating whether or not watari actually calls the ambulance after soichiro and L argue again and Light is sent to the hospital. OR watari notices him moving and stops their arguing to look at the cameras)

every once in a while i think about whether or not stepan's indiscriminate sharing of his troubles to the young nikolai was what triggered the latter's descent into depravity... i don't have a lot to go off on here, so this is all probably just conjecture. i also remember that stepan didn't say or do anything positive that could have counteracted his TMI-ing to a young boy. and obviously, children aren't meant to carry the emotional weight of a grown ass adult.

if stepan was his tutor, nikolai would have trusted him to some degree and would consequently be affected deeply by what he tells him. kids tend to be sponges; they absorb easily what adults around them do/say, so it might have been possible that nikolai's idea of the world — as a young boy — was shaped by everything stepan had told him during those nights. and by forgoing any positive counteraction, stepan also neglected teaching nikolai that there is good in the world, and that it's what one should strive to uphold.

also, children don't just learn empathy with a snap of a finger. it's something they have to be assisted in developing. i don't think stepan would have been able to explain to little nikolai that his problems should not be understood through a singular perspective only; even then, that's not something a child should be expected to do. they should be eased into learning empathy instead, with the help of the adults around them. nikolai was also sent away to study at sixteen. i doubt he had any good role models who could've taught him to see and feel things from the perspective of others. i think that's why he's so arrogant, too. so he grew up to be this messed up adult who can't interact with the world around him without positioning himself as the sole focus of everything, and in the end, when he does try to seek absolution, he's still operating with that same arrogance he's used to understand the world around him.
