The Poughkeepsie Tapes (2007)

121 minutes of violence against women and girls. And this is coming from a true crime fan. I have watched many a Homicide Hunter and People Magazine Investigates, both of which are way better than this ficticious quasi-found footage doc.

In a way, I can see where they were trying to go with this killer. The ways he was always a few steps ahead made for a smart antagonist. However, many of his victims frustrated me. Why put be alone at night when a killer is on the loose? Why pick up a hitchhiker? Why get into a stranger’s vehicle? It may have been the late 90s, but people weren’t stupid.

Anyways, I’ve yet to find a really spectacular found footage film that turns my crank. I thought this psuedo-documentary would do it, but the search continues.

Watch this if:

you are looking to mix up your true crime stint

your brain will make this scarier by filling in the gaps

found footage is your favourite horror sub-genre

Can we talk about how Ron freaks out and Kim KNOWS her new "romance" is part of the reason and Ron KNOWS that's what she wants to talk about before she even mentions it?

They both know! There's a big elephant in the room and they both KNOW exactly what it is!

As far as everyone knew, Leon Regulus was a decent student at Hogwarts.

The accurate statement was, that Leon Regulus was the best student of his year, and to prove it now he had a Headboy badge. He was also Captain of the dueling club, and rather popular... and he didn't want his family to know.

He was still staring at his letter when Mel came down for breakfast with Lily in her arms.

"Morning," she said. "Is that your letter? We can go with the Flints—"

"Get mum," Leon said, eyes never leaving his letter.

"What?"

"Get mum," he repeated. "I need to talk to her."

Mel sat her sleepy daughter on the couch and approached. "What is it?"

The young boy reacted, jumping out of his seat and holding the letter behind his back. "Get mum and then I'll tell you!" Mel stared at him and he got even more alarmed. "Do not read my thoughts!"

"I'm not!" Mel tried to hide her laughter, chasing her younger brother around the drawing room. "I wasn't snooping! I was just trying to—"

"No, don't do that! You're too smart and you'll figure out before mum!"

"Reg—"

"Oh, bugger off, I'll do it," he complained, seizing his wand. "I'm allowed to do magic now, I keep forgetting it.."

With a swift flick of his wand, his Patronus—a border collie—ran out of sight.

"Now what, you'll avoid talking to me until Mum gets the message?" Mel smirked.

"You left a minor unsupervised—and that one likes playing with fire!" Leon reminded her as he rushed upstairs.

"Oh, Reg, don't be such a—"

Someone knocked on her door then, and Mel tensed. It'd been a whole month since Harry and Ron had gone away, and she was still waiting for news. She feared opening the door to a Ministry worker holding one of those dreadful burgundy envelopes, the ones reserved to notify the relatives of a deceased Auror.

Mel walked to the door and opened it, she visibly relaxed when she realized it was Emily Flint. "Hi, love!"

"Hi," the girl looked briefly over Mel's shoulder, she was holding her Hogwarts letter. "Is Leon still here?"

"Yeah, you want me to call him?"

"Yes, please. I was on my way already when he sent me his Patronus."

"Oh!" Mel blushed. "Oh, sorry, Emi, I think my brother made a mistake—"

"Hi, hi, hi!" Reg rushed down to meet the girl and stopped Mel from talking. "You got my message?"

"Yes," she smiles, but it looks a lot different than the way she usually grins at her friends. "I was actually on my way, I got my letter."

Regulus blushes. "Me too."

"I got great news," Emily continued, looking at them with excitement. "I'm the Captain of Slytherin's Quidditch team."

"Emily! That's brilliant!" Mel beamed.

"Dad wants to organize a dinner to celebrate my promotion, he asked me to invite you and your kids if you're, you know, in the right mood—"

"Of course I am," Mel pushed aside the little sting of disappointment when she thought of Harry, missing the milestones of people they cared about.

"We'll be there," Regulus said, looking anxious. "Mel, can you excuse us?"

She looked at her brother with a raised brow, but the boy just gave her a look to urge her to leave them alone. Once again Mel concealed her mirth and stepped aside. "Sure. I'll be in the kitchen with Lily."

When Mel's mother arrived, Emily Flint was still with Regulus upstairs.

"Hey," Mel started, lowering her voice so her children couldn't hear their conversation. "I can't believe I'm asking you this, but..."

"Your brother has gone soft over Erick's oldest daughter, yes," the woman smiled. "But Mel, need I remind you it's rude to talk about other people's love lives, especially when they're young?"

Mel made a face. "I stand by what I said back then, it was wrong of you to bet on my life. But I'm not betting, now I understand why Regulus was so eager to come and spend the summer here."

"Well, he's always liked spending the summer with you."

"But this year he's barely been here at all!" Mel pointed out. "He's spent every afternoon with the Flints—with Emily. They go to the muggle town and come back at dusk, beats me what they can do there that could be considered fun for teenagers—"

"Oh, Mel," her mother rolled her eyes with a knowing smirk. "You and Harry would walk around Privet Drive doing absolutely nothing most days, and you still had loads of fun."

She smiled at the memories of her youth, a warm fuzzy feeling spreading on her chest. "So this means our Reggie has a girlfriend now?"

"I don't think Emily would date him without having her father's approval first," her mother grinned. "And we would've heard something from Erick by now if she'd asked. He would've come to you vibrating with the need to share the news."

Mel laughed, shaking her head a little. "Well, at least it's the one boy that Erick has known since baby. That ought to ease his mind."

"Might not be as lucky with the rest of his children," Emily smirked. "He could have a Mel in his home."

The woman scowled. "What's that supposed to mean?"

"Oh, nothing. Just, you know... how every time you dated I would always find out through other people or months after it had started—"

"Well, maybe if someone hadn't bet on my love life, perhaps I would've kept them in the loop."

"Mum?" Reg's voice came from the hallway.

Mel and Emily both stopped and turned to him. Emily Flint pushed the older boy forward, and he stepped closer to them, holding his Hogwarts letter.

"Hi, boy," His mother smiled. "Everything okay?"

He handed her the piece of paper. "I'm Headboy."

"What!" Mel seized the letter and read it hastily. Beside her, their mother gasped and covered her mouth with both hands in shock. "Reggie!"

Mel pulled her brother in for a hug, her mother soon joining in. Leon laughed, face flushed, and held onto them, he was shaking.

"I didn't know you were aiming for that!" His mother exclaimed. "I mean, when you got the Prefect badge you looked annoyed—"

"He wasn't annoyed, he was stressed," Emily Flint clarified. "Layla's a troublemaker, and she was counting on him getting the badge."

"Ah, your father went through the same with us," Mel grinned guiltily. "I personally, didn't make his job any easier."

"Yes, he has a lot of stories," the girl giggled. "Anyway, if you are okay with it, I want to share my dinner celebration with Leon, I think he deserves it."

Regulus blushed and turned to his friend. "No, I already told you I don't want that!"

"I've been trying to convince him for a whole hour," Emily turned to the older women pouting. "Please talk to him?"

"It'll be fun, we can invite everyone! Harry..." Mel stopped, her husband wasn't around to celebrate with them. Emily—her mother—placed a hand on her shoulder and squeezed.

"First things first, how about we all go to Diagon Alley and get your books? I didn't get to take Mel to buy stuff for her seventh year, so we'll all have fun with it."

"Why not?" Emily Flint asked innocently.

"Mel didn't go to Hogwarts a seventh time," the boy mentioned as shortly as possible. "Because of the war." Mel and Reg shared a look, the air in the room suddenly getting a little awkward.

Emily's face got so red Mel took pity on her. "I was so ahead in my lessons by the time I was sixteen, that going a seventh time wasn't needed, if I'm honest. The war saved me the hassle of wearing uniform for yet another year."

Emily smiled shyly. "True... though I like the uniforms."

"You look nice in them," Regulus offered, grabbing her hand and pulling her out of the kitchen. "Come on, I'll walk you out, Emie."

When the teens left, Mel took a deep breath and turned to face her mother. "I'm losing it, Mum," she pouted.

Emily hugged her, having to stand on her tiptoes to reach Mel's shoulders. "Still no news from Harry?"

"No," Mel sniffed, quickly drying her tears as they parted. "I have a bad feeling about this one."

"Been a while since the last time, that's all..."

Mel pushed her hair back. "It will never get easier, will it?"

Her mother's eyes softened, seeing herself reflected on her daughter. "My sweet Mel... the war ended so long ago and you still face everything the way Dumbledore taught you." Emily cupped her face.

"Is that... bad?"

"It's the only way you Dumbledores function, I've come to realize," the woman sighed. "But if you're scared, just say it."

Mel lowered her head and closed her eyes tightly. "I'm scared."

Regulus's family tended to go big when celebrating his achievements, and somehow Rita Skeeter always made it sound way more classless and embarrassing than it actually was.

Most people had doubts when it came to the reporter, but that didn't stop his classmates from teasing him about his rich relatives' traditions. Emily and Elizabeth Flint were overly protective of him as well as Teddy Lupin and Vicky Weasley, which was nice but still just as embarrassing, considering they were all younger kids. In Regulus's eyes, it was like having an army of toddlers defending his honour.

He was complaining about all this to the only person he knew would understand how it felt to be judged by things that weren't even his responsibility: Mel.

"So what do you recommend?"

"You know what I recommend," the woman grinned. "You're bloody good at charms."

Regulus wrinkled his nose in annoyance. "But I don't want to jinx or hex other people, that is beneath me."

"Exclaimed the prince," Mel laughed a bit. "Are you sure you're a Gryffindor? I never knew of a lion who didn't like fighting. Even your professor, Neville had his fair amount of fights."

"Well, maybe I don't see the point of getting my cloaks dirty with losers's blood," he rolled his eyes.

"Ah," she smirked. "So you're a haughty one, like my dad and his uncle."

"Can you be serious for a moment and help? There is a reason why I'm not asking Mum for advice, I already know she would also choose violence."

Mel laughed good-naturedly and then sighed, a smile lingering on her expression. "I'm sorry, Leggie, most of your family is a bunch of hot-headed individuals. If you want a mellower response, call Uncle Moony."

"I thought I was talking to Mellow?" The young man smirked.

The woman laughed again. "You are, but I'm afraid that when it comes to my little brother's well-being I don't necessarily act wisely."

Regulus hummed. "So you're sticking to your first answer?"

Mel pondered, looking out the window of her drawing room. It was almost midnight, and Regulus had to go to bed soon. So did she, but lately she wasn't sleeping all that well either way.

"No..." she shook her head before glancing back at the two-way mirror she'd propped up on a pile of books. "If I were Uncle Lu... I'd tell you to pay them no mind. You have good friends willing to fight your battles—though they shouldn't—so I guess... indirect intimidation."

Regulus chortled and raised a brow, shaking his head. "You're useless."

"I think half the Ministry would disagree," Mel grinned. "But that is definitely the mellowest answer I can give you. You're Headboy now, and you have that Sultens thing about you that just screams danger when you get angry. And you have the cold-blooded Black mindset, so really, I think what's best for you is to have someone to talk to so you get all that frustration out. Someone like a Flint, maybe?"

At her knowing smile, Regulus made a face and adverted his eyes, mumbling his response. "I know what you're implying."

"Good, that was my intention."

"I won't date Emily Flint."

"Yet."

"Mellow!"

The woman opened her mouth to reply but then she heard a sudden commotion right outside her front door, like feet stumbling to a stop and then some groaning. Mel tensed and reached for her wand.

"I heard something," she said quickly. "I'll talk to you later, Reg, see you."

Mel placed the mirror face down on top of the pile of books and got to her feet, turning all the lights off with a swift hand movement the moment her front door squeaked open.

"Don't move!" She hissed, prepared to cast a hex on the person if they refused to cooperate. "Who are you?"

The person groaned again and leaned against the threshold, mumbled "Lumos!", and Harry's face looked up at her. "I'm your husband."

Mel gasped, turned the lights back on with a flick of her wand, hurried to the man's side, and lifted his face up to examine the wound on his face, messily bandaged.

"What happened?" She breathed, trying to stay quiet so the kids wouldn't wake.

"I was lousy," he winced, stepping into the house and closing the door behind him. "Don't worry, I'm not dying—just a cut."

"Harry!" Mel exclaimed in relief, wrapping her arms tightly around him. He smelled like smoke and coffee. "Where's Ron?"

"Alive, better than I look," he groaned again. "It's alright, Mel, honest. They barely got my face..."

Mel cradled his face and her gaze softened, a tentative smile coming through. "So another scar, huh?"

Harry sighed, returning the smile with irony. "Nothing new," his hand reached up and traced over the ones she had down her jaw and neck. "I missed you."

The witch hummed, brushing his hair back and helping him take off the cloak. "You look tired, I'll run you a bath."

"It's midnight—"

"I've been going to bed at two in the morning anyway," she brushed it aside. "It's nothing..." Mel grabbed his hand and pulled him upstairs, lowering her voice even more as she continued with a playful expression. "I'll join you if you want."

Harry's whole face lit up at the offer, his smile turning genuine and slightly crooked. "How could I refuse?"

Currently Watching: The Last of Us, which I’m highly enjoying! (No history with the game.) And My Hero Academia! Which I also love, but it’s so intense rn 😭 (Have not read the Manga.)

Currently consuming: very slowly drinking coffee that is cooling rapidly 😅

Evaluasi Harga Berkala, Pertamina Sesuaikan Harga Pertamax dan Dex Series Per 3 Januari

BALIPORTALNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Subholding Commercial & Trading Pertamina, kembali melakukan penyesuaian harga jual produk-produk BBM non subsidi atau jenis bahan bakar umum (JBU). Harga baru yang berlaku per 3 Januari 2023 pukul 14.00 WIB. Hal ini disampaikan langsung oleh Menteri BUMN, Erick Thohir, pada Selasa (3/1/2023) pagi. “Diputuskan hari ini harga Pertamax disesuaikan dari Rp13.900 per liter menjadi Rp12.800. Dibutuhkan koordinasi dan proses waktu dengan berbagai stakeholder, untuk melakukan penyesuaian harga, karena Pertamina bisnisnya luas dari hulu ke hilir, tidak seperti perusahaan yang hanya mengelola 5 pom bensin. Hal ini perlu dilakukan karena pemerintah harus ada dan mendukung  ekonomi masyarakat,” jelas Erick saat melakukan peninjauan di salah satu SPBU  Pertamina di jalan MT Haryono, Jakarta Selatan. Untuk produk jenis gasoline (bensin), Pertamax (RON 92) disesuaikan menjadi Rp12.800 per liter, dari sebelumnya Rp13.900. Pertamax Turbo (RON 98), kembali disesuaikan menjadi Rp14.050 per liter. Turun harga dari yang sebelumnya Rp15.200 sejak penyesuian harga terakhir dilakukan pada 1 Desember 2022 lalu. Kemudian untuk produk jenis gasoil (diesel) yakni Dexlite (CN 51), disesuaikan  menjadi Rp 16.150 per liter. Turun dari sebelumnya Rp18.300. Sedangkan Pertamina Dex (CN 53) mengalami penyesuian menjadi Rp16.750 per liter dari sebelumnya Rp18.800. Harga baru ini berlaku untuk propinsi dengan besaran pajak bahan bakar kendaraan bermotor (PBBKB) sebesar 5% seperti di wilayah  DKI Jakarta. Erick menjelaskan, bahwa harga BBM non subsidi bersifat fluktuatif, sehingga dievaluasi secara berkala mengikuti tren dan mekanisme pasar. Pertamina melakukan penyesuaian harga mengikuti tren harga minyak dunia dan harga rata-rata publikasi minyak. “Pada dasarnya, harga BBM non subsidi sudah seyogya-nya harga pasar, namun untuk membuktikan bahwa pemerintah hadir, maka pada kebijakan sebelumnya ketika harga minyak dunia tinggi pemerintah meminta Pertamina untuk tidak  menaikan harga. Sehingga saat ini, ketika harga minyak dunia di level USD 79 per barel, saya bersama Menteri ESDM, Menteri Keuangan dan Direktur Utama Pertamina akhirnya menggelar rapat untuk memproyeksikan dan menentukan harga BBM yang baru ke masyarakat,” tambah Erick. Adapun harga baru per 3 Januari 2022 ini sudah sesuai dengan penetapan harga yang diatur dalam Kepmen ESDM No. 245.K/MG.01/MEM.M/2022 sebagai perubahan atas Kepmen No. 62/K/12/MEM/2020 tentang formulasi harga JBU atau BBM non subsidi. Direktur Utama Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati mengatakan, Pertamina berkomitmen penuh untuk menyediakan dan menyalurkan BBM berdasarkan prinsip Availability, Accessibility, Affordability, Acceptability dan Sustainability. “Melalui Subholding Commercial & Trading Pertamina Patra Niaga, kami terus berkomitmen menyediakan pasokan produk BBM berkualitas diseluruh wilayah Indonesia. Tidak hanya di kota-kota besar namun ke seluruh pelosok negeri, dengan harga yang kompetitif,” ungkap Nicke. Selain itu, Direktur Utama Pertamina Patra Niaga, Alfian Nasution menambahkan, pihaknya turut memberikan apresiasi dan keuntungan untuk konsumen Pertamina yang setiap menggunakan produk-produk BBM berkualitas seperti Pertamax dan Dex Series. “Hingga 8 Januari 2023, khusus pembelian produk Pertamax, Pertamax Turbo, Pertamina Dex dan Dexlite minimum 200 ribu rupiah menggunakan aplikasi MyPertamina dengan metode pembayaran LinkAja, konsumen berkesempatan mendapatkan cashback saldo hingga 10 ribu rupiah,” tambah Alfian. When Rose Granger-Weasley was born, they discovered Ron was the overprotective father of the whole lot. Not even Erick had acted that way with his babies. Hermione found it exasperating, but to Ron, that little girl was his firstborn, and nothing was going to stop him from keeping her safe.

If they were packed with children before, now it was definitely overwhelming. Fred had a good reason to be losing his mind over it, there was always a baby or a toddler he had to be mindful not to step on or sit on accident.

Regulus, who was the eldest child, hadn't changed much after his talk with Mel. He was a kid still, so she wasn't expecting him to change his behaviour, he was too young to grasp it all. However, he seemed a little bit uneasy about attending Hogwarts now.

Emily Flint, on the other hand, couldn't wait to go. She was determined to be as good as her father to the point of claiming she'd be a Headgirl too. She wanted to be in Slytherin like him, but Erick had advised her not to force herself into a house where she might not belong.

"You should let the hat do its work, love," He'd told her. "If you talk too soon, you'll be trapped in a house where you're not comfortable."

"Listen to your father, he should know," Mel teased him. "He became my friend out of boredom and before he knew it he was dragged into our mess."

"Yeah, worst decision of my life," he mused, kissing the top of his son's head, who was sound asleep in his arms.

Matthew John Potter was born on January twelve, also known as Erick's birthday. Naturally, Mel and Harry asked him to be the godfather.

Erick was more than pleased, he was ready to take the boy under his wing and guide him through life. What that meant, no one knew, but Mel trusted he'd do a good job anyway.

Amy Flint was born in February of the same year, the fifth—and last of their babies, according to Anne and Erick.

Then, to everyone's surprise, Fred and Joseph decided to get married. It wasn't that they weren't expecting them to last, they'd been dating for almost a decade, but since they lived together and didn't seem to have any interest in getting married, it wasn't exactly anticipated.

Fred's wedding, in spite of what he'd promised when they were younger, was as elegant as any other, if not more. Joseph was firm on having the best of the best in every aspect, and Fred let him do his thing since he wasn't an expert at weddings.

"If it were for me, we'd just hire some bloke to marry us in our apartment and that'd be it, but Jo finds that, er, what did you call it, love? I just know it was a bad French insult to my person," he teased.

"You won't ruin my day, Weasley," Joseph replied unbothered. "I've been dreaming of this since our first year together."

"Wow, that's faith," Mel grinned.

"Oh, don't say that like you didn't dream about getting married to Glasses since you were a kid!" George exclaimed. "You probably talk to Harry once and you started to design the cake."

"She wanted me to be her best man, actually," Harry spoke from his place in the rug, he'd been playing with his twins quietly until that moment. They were starting to show signs of wanting to walk, so now they had to always be watching over them when they were awake. "She wanted to marry Prince William."

"What—"

"Thank you for that, Glasses," she groaned, falling back on the couch and hiding her face behind a cushion. "I'll never hear the end of it..."

"Blimey! Princess Mel of England—has a ring to it, lady."

"To think you almost got to be Lady Dumbledore for real!" Fred chortled.

"Shut up, you two," she scowled at the twins. "It was a nice thing to imagine as a child. Either way, when I first dated Harry, I don't remember thinking about a wedding. The most I would picture was Hogsmeade dates and holding hands in front of everyone once Skeeter left us alone..."

"Skeeter's no longer a problem now, is she?" George taunted her. "You guys are disgustingly sweet in public nowadays."

"Well, Georgie, being close to dying really changes your priorities," She joked.

"Look at this one!" Mel laughed, handing the picture to Ginny. "Look how tiny we look next to Charlie!"

The redhead laughs as she looks at the photo Mel's showing her, it's from the 1994 summer, the year of the Quidditch final, before hell broke loose. "Sweet Merlin, look at Charlie's hair!"

They're looking for old pictures of Joe and Fred for the ceremony, and Mel's the only one who has pictures of the both of them at Hogwarts. Mel looks at the images and it's been so long since she sat and look through them, that now she's able to see how much they've changed. 

Her fourteen-year-old self smiles at them, waving enthusiastically at the camera from where she's standing behind the burrow's sofa. Sitting there are Fred and George, and they're scribbling something on parchment, probably the pricelist for his inventions. Her face is much rounder than it is nowadays, though, in a year's time, Mel knows that will change. 

The trauma and growth spurt are bound to sharpen her features, but she remains innocent and sweet in that photo, forever enjoying her summer with the Weasleys and Harry, the boy she has a crush on.

As she looks through the album she starts to think about Hogwarts again, and it amazes her just how much she'd almost forgotten. The spring days sitting under that huge tree by the lake, the late night studying with her friends in the common room, and how could she forget the meal times with Fred and George making her laugh until she choked on her pumpkin juice!

It was all so long ago... a whole decade of experiences and changes, and yet all those memories came back to her as easily as a spell. Her fingers grazed around the soft features of that young Mel, so full of life, with a soul so whole and bright she could take down dementors by just standing there—not quite true, but now it felt like that had been the case—and her eyes teared up a bit.

"Mel, what's the matter?" Ginny asked worryingly.

"Sorry," she sniffed, hastily cleaning her face. "I just... I remembered how young we were when we met—it's so strange... knowing we were once that little, and at some point, I just... forgot."

Ginny looked at her with a soft and understanding smile. "It is strange, isn't it? It's hard not to forget how it felt to be that small... especially someone like you, I guess, holding all that power... hard to believe you were once a little girl, right?"

Mel stared at the picture for a while. She didn't know how badly she loved that little girl until now, and she felt guilty when she thought of the times she'd been embarrassed to have been her. Why, when little Mel had been all that was good in the world? 

She looked at herself with the same eyes her Uncle Lu had at the end of her third year at school, what a remarkable little thing she was, with eyes so smart and clever she looked like she knew more than she let on. No wonder adults were always a little on edge when she was around.

A little girl's squeal brought her back and she looked up. Harry walked into the drawing room holding Emmie's hands as she marched into the room with clumsy feet. Luna walked right after them with James still safely tucked in her arms. 

"Look at her go!" Ginny said proudly. "Hang on, Harry, don't pick her up yet!" She reached for Mel's old camera on the coffee table and turned the baby and her father. "She looks so cute!"

Mel watched as her daughter moved across the room holding tightly to Harry's fingers. He had a huge smile on his face as he encouraged his daughter to keep walking, glancing at Mel from time to time to point Emmie in her direction.

The young mother slipped off the couch and knelt to receive the toddler in her arms, which only encouraged Emmeline to walk faster. Harry almost tripped trying to keep up. Mel laughed and held one hand out for her daughter. "Come along, love, you can do it!"

Ginny took the picture then, the moment Emmeline crashed against her mother's chest and Mel fell on her butt, laughing as much as the baby. Harry helped her to sit up, smiling proudly at his daughter's accomplishment. "She's got good legs," he grinned. "Might be a good climber just like you."

Mel laughed again, cupping her daughter's cheek and beaming. "As long as she learns to not fall on her head, then it's fine."

"Dad!" Emmeline squealed, reaching her chubby little arms to try and pull Harry closer, he sat next to Mel on the rug and kissed Emmie's head, brushing her hair back. 

"What's this?" He grabbed one of the pictures and smiled at it. "Look, Mel, Emmie looks so much like you here!"

He showed her the photo, it was them on her ninth birthday, with icing on her cheek and the roundest cheeks she'd ever seen on a little girl. Harry had one arm around her shoulders and his fingers had icing the same colour as the one on her face. Little Matthew had the same bright emerald eyes as him.

"Yeah she does," Mel beamed, holding onto the toddler and kissing the top of her head. "I hope she gets to be just as happy as I was, too."

Once a month her mother, Remus and Tonks offered to look after the twins and Matthew so she and Harry could go out with Hermione and Ron. They left Rose with Ron's parents and left to spend a whole day in London.

First, they considered going to Diagon Alley, but they didn't want to risk finding Skeeter there, she'd been trying to get a glimpse of Rose and Matthew as well as the twins, and even though they didn't have the kids with them, they didn't want to be disturbed.

So instead, they walked around the muggle city and took Ron to the movies.

"Heard Professor Sprout is planning to retire," Hermione mentioned as she grabbed a fistful of popcorn. "Might be a good idea to mention it to Neville, don't you think?"

"Doesn't he have his own apothecary near his grandma's house?"

"Yeah, but his grandma's really old now, and I mean really old," Mel pointed out. "So it'd be a good idea for him and Hannah to start thinking about their future."

"Thinking about their future?" Ron made a face. "Not like their lives revolve around Neville's grandma..."

"Oh, you know Neville only lives so out of the way to be close to her," Hermione admitted with a sigh. "I agree with Mel, that's why I mentioned Professor's Sprout possible retirement. I think, Mel," she leaned forward and gave her a careful look. "That if you talk to her, she might consider writing to Neville to ask if he's interested."

"I don't know if I even need to do that," Mel shrugged. "He was one of her best students, maybe she's already considering him to fill the spot."

"Wouldn't hurt to make sure of it," Hermione insisted.

"Been years since we went to school and you still look after him," Ron teased her, though his voice was affectionate. "He's a grown man like all of us, Mione, he can do things himself if he wants to."

Hermione sighed and shook her head. "You're right. You're right. Sorry, it's just... sometimes I think I still see him as that little boy that used to hide behind us during potions."

Mel giggled, understanding her feelings. "Lately I've been thinking about our time in school as well... the other day I had this dream that I had fallen asleep and everyone had gone to class, but I couldn't find the classrooms, it was as if the entire castle had changed it's hallways and staircases, but I was sure they looked exactly the same, it was me who'd forgotten the directions... and then I looked at myself as I passed next to a window and saw myself in that old Gryffindor uniform?" She smiled. "It felt strange to be wearing it again, even if it was a dream."

"I don't miss wearing those stupid hats," Ron scoffed. "Or the ties..."

"The ties were lovely," Hermione argued. "I liked our winter cloaks and the scarfs were really thick and warm."

"I liked how you looked in your uniform," Harry told Mel with a grin. "Especially the Quidditch one."

Mel lightly hit his shoulder and he laughed, she shook her head. "Isn't it weird that next year Regulus will attend Hogwarts? He'll be part of a house, and use the same uniform, and he'll go to the same classes we did, but it won't be like our time there at all."

"He's definitely a Gryffindor, though," Ron added.

"Yeah," responded the other three.

"I think that makes it just as exciting for us as it will be for him," Hermione said, smiling giddily. "Everything will be new to us in a way."

"Yeah, a first year with no three-headed dogs and giant games of chess," Ron smirked. "We never got to know what that was like."

"We should get him an owl for his eleventh birthday," Mel nudged Harry's arm. "He's got Padfoot, so I don't think a cat's a good idea."

"Padfoot gets along with Grey just fine," he frowned.

"Grey's an old cat, he's too tired to fight him," Mel replied humorously. "A young cat would most likely try to murder Padfoot and Padfoot would probably sit on them until they suffocated."

Harry laughed. "Fine, an owl it is."
