The temple of Athena
The Erechtheion is an ancient Greek temple constructed on the acropolis of Athens between 421 and 406 BCE in the Golden Age of the city in order to house the ancient wooden cult statue of Athena and generally glorify the great city at the height of its power and influence.
The Erechtheion has suffered a troubled history of misuse and neglect, but with its prominent position above the city and porch of six Caryatids, it remains one of the most distinctive buildings from antiquity .

The Caryatids and the Erechtheion at the Acropolis in Athens.
Sculptural details of the Erechtheion are currently being held by the British Museum—including one of the caryatid pillars—and have still yet to be returned to Greece despite repeated calls to do so.

I didn't expect the pics from Delphi would go so well here, thanks a lot! :D So now, here are the ones from Athens Akropolis.
It cost 20€ to visit but is totally worthy. Also, of course it was crowded but... it could have been worse tbh. I'm just sad that i couldn't come any closer, because the ruins have some tiny intrincate details that i really wanted to see better, but i know it's not allowed for a good reason.
There were also many people working CONSTANTLY on its preservation, which is such a big effort. I liked it so much :)
