He was in Lego Batman for like 0.00001 seconds so that's why there's a lego lol but anyway THIS IS WHAT ERASER MAN LOOKS LIKE. he's like cute and funny but then also weirdly scary??? Idk anyway his story is actually insane. I went down a Batman Wiki rabbit hole.

He was in college with Bruce, and was known for having an eraser on hand so he didn't make mistakes. He was absolutely in love with this one girl named Celia, and wanted to take her to an ice rink festival thing, but she ended up going with Bruce. He goes crazy, obviously, and eventually, years later, becomes Eraser Man. He basically erases any evidence from a crime scene, and hires out his services to criminals in Gotham. (unrelated but this is also how i found out that Gotham canonically has a newspaper for criminals and he runs his ads in it lol)

anyway he is really really good at it, he has some kind of acid or something i dunno. the GCPD asks Batman to help, so Bruce goes undercover as a criminal to hire him. BUT! Eraser Man recognizes Bruce because of the scent of his shaving cream which. like. okay that's weird. anyway he's like "i became a criminal because you shattered my dreams by going out with her!" and bruce is like "what on earth are you talking about" and Eraser Man freaks out and like, knocks him out and then kidnaps Bruce and turns his lair into a replica of the ice festival??? Yeah. Then Robin shows up and distracts him long enough for bruce to get away and become Batman, and then yadda yadda Eraser Man goes to jail.

And THEN. chaos gremlin Bruce Wayne goes (as Batman) to eraser's cell and gives him one of those big pink erasers and is like "start over with a clean slate" LIKE AHAHAHAHA anyway.

I just find this all incredibly humorous.

So anyways I think the worst part about Emma May is that she was so so loved. Fidds almost destroyed a city because she left him. Can you imagine loving someone that much? To the point of wanton destruction? She just couldn’t give him what he truly wanted so she lost her place in his list of priorities. He got carried away in Ford’s dazzling world and forgot that she was a person who needed companionship and attention, that she wasn’t just a concept to yearn for from a distance. Fiddleford forgot that she was a person a PERSON and all we see is this negative space, a garage in Palo Alto, an imprint left in their marriage bed, half a face on his desk, this forensic scattering left in her son’s existence and a crazed lunatic missing a Family, a Wife. She once existed. And he dug such a deep well of sadness within her that she quite literally disappeared completely from the narrative. Something something there’s a particularly cruel pain left by the selfishness of kindhearted men. Emma May, was it worth it?

I keep seeing posts on social media thanking the OFMD cast and crew for their work and not mentioning Taika, and it's driving me to distraction because Taika is absolutely fundamental to the existence of this show.

There's a huge chance the show wouldn't have been picked up at all if Taika hadn't attached his name to it. And he didn't just attach his name and walk away - he played a key role in developing the show. David has said that he was looking at the history with Taika and they both went 'omg Stede and Blackbeard were fucking' and decided to centre the show around that. Taika pushed for Rhys to play Stede. Taika saw Nathan's comedy on instagram and went 'yep that's Lucius'. Taika was desperate to play Ed, and fought to play him. Taika has spoken about how much he loves playing Ed, how it made him fall in love with acting again, to the point where he wears some of Ed's jewellery and has gotten some of Ed's tattoos actually inked on him. He poured everything he has as an actor into Ed (some of the stuff he had to perform, particularly at the beginning of S2, is difficult) and the show simply wouldn't work without it. Taika directed the pilot. He loved the show enough to juggle filming S1 with post-production on Thor: Love and Thunder. When the show's budget was slashed by 40%, and could no longer afford to film in LA, Taika would have been key to moving production to New Zealand - and if that hadn't happened, S2 wouldn't have happened. When a director went off sick with Covid during S2, Taika jumped in to direct half an episode and then didn't take a director's credit on it.

You do not have to like Taika. You do not have to agree with everything he does/says. But what we are not going to do is erase the absolutely key fundamental role that Taika has played in OFMD. This show simply would not exist, probably not in any form, but certainly not in the form we see and love, if not for Taika's continuing and multi-level contribution.

Something about Vegapunk using the dna and blood of a caged and experimented on child to create more caged child experiments and the cycles we perpetuate.

Because what does it mean that all that King has left as proof, that the lunarians were real, that they existed as a tribe, as a people, are seven manufactured children he doesn’t even know about, enslaved as weapons to the government that wiped out the culture they’ll never get to be a part of, and Alber himself another enslaved child lost to something he’ll never fully know.

And what of the warlords? Already young once and hurt by their government, young again and slaves to it. Boa looking at a version of her practically pulled out of time stuck in her worst nightmare or Jimbei looking at a version of himself living out a past he escaped by the skin of his teeth but so many he loved didn’t, even Doffy once again at the mercy of the people that already abandoned him, has Kuma not suffered enough? Given enough, is this child version of him doomed to repeat the same path he already could not escape from . Property of the world government, beholden to the celestial dragons, this version of me that cannot go free?

It’s interesting that Vegapunk joined the government so that he could do the most good, but look at the long line of people right infront of him that he’s hurt with his own hands.
