"The Dogs of War" (S07E24, Stardate 52861.3) balances table-setting with the Cardassian rebellion and the lead-in to the final battle of the war with advancing Julian & Ezri to a couple and Rom to the role of Nagus. Ending with Kassidy's pregnancy announcement is a strong reminder of the Prophets' warning.

For my "The Dogs of War" poster I reflected all the way back to "Past Prologue" with the feel of an uprising propaganda poster, but this time around it is the Cardassians - not the Bajorans - doing the uprising.

"11:59" (S05E22, Stardate 57840) is a story of how legend is different from reality & how that impacts life in the present, intertwining a need to look forward while honoring the past... & it is predictable & boring. For a show that likes high-concept sci-fi, this is a hard left turn into a wall.
