i was alienating my fellow bus passengers today by failing to control my facial expressions (the bottom half of which were still hidden by my mask, thank you mask) about some dialogue halfway through episode 17 of partizan...

the words "no offense" have possibly never gotten me quite so bad.

partizan spoilers below I guess? it's been out a few years, but you never know.

Exeter Leap, pitching the group on sedition right in front of Clementine Kesh, his jailer and commander: I guess I can’t speak for everybody, but I really feel-- I really thought, I was like, “well, we don’t” - no offense, Clem - “we don’t like Clem, or trust Clem”! … no offense.

moments later in the same scene, he continues: Why would we take Fort Icebreaker for Clem when… we could take it for us, and fuck Clem. No offense, Clem.

NO OFFENSE! she does not react.

Everyone keeps talking around Clementine as if she's not there.... AO Rooke, being slowly swayed to sedition: [...] Like I’ve been a solo operator that worked with people before, but we work together well. And what if Clem - no offense Clem - what if Clem was more of, like, a…

[some crosstalk, with AO kinda buying it, Millie being kombucha girl about it, and then after AO says Clem'd be a "support officer"]

Clementine, finally: Well, hold on.

THAT'S YOUR LINE, CLEM??? nobody likes or trusts me, yeah; they're out for themselves and fuck me, sure; prisoner, yeah, i can see why they'd push for that. Support officer?? hey now.

well, I can't say I expected the new chapter to feature Idia (metaphorically) going to (metaphorical) hell, getting a pep talk from his (metaphorical) Phantom brother which helps him finally move on once and for all from his brother's death, and (metaphorically) overblotting again to fight his way back out of (metaphorical) hell, only to have his darkest fear (non-metaphorically) come true when his mom goes through his computer and finds all his secret files. but I am glad it did!

also this is all a flashback for the purpose of explaining to our group what the heck is going on (whether or not any of it is getting through is another matter)

Still Thinkin of Yokai Amity

Y'know, where all of Amity have pretty much become yokai creatures. I might be weak for Japanese mythology and cryptids. Or really all mythology and cryptids, but Japan has a lot and it's near never-ending meaning it's fun to continue discovering and learning stuff. But anyway!

Amity Park, practically empty of humans now. Not even following the usual rule that things do thanks to how malleable ecto is. Along with how a form usually depends on ones own thoughts, feelings, and Core.

But anyway, Amity? Kind of having some trouble now that, again, no one there counts as human. Visibly so. Which, yeah the GIW is sort of incompetent, but it's also kind of... not?

Let them reiterate, individually or even in pairs, they can easily deal with the Guys in White. Heck, even a small battalion is easy enough- but they have... a lot of people. And the backing of the government. So.

Plan B? Escape. Where to?

Well, see, they've all had to interact more with the Realms, not to mention that well, the entire town was pulled into it at one point. Which was how everyone got that last bit of ecto to push the transformations from contaminated to Liminal.

Which means? Time to escape through the Realms to somewhere, maybe even somewhen else. But they also can't stay in the Realms indefinitely. Because even with their own Cores, most of them are still Living.

But they also can't agree on a World to settle down in, not with how they're still wary of reactions. So what's a city to do?

Why, pop into multiple worlds of course. A wandering city, the entrance shifting through gates and alleys and doorways that appears through time and space.

Sometimes another haunted being finds their way through, sometimes they visit one dimension more than another- sometimes they leave one behind forever. But tales still spread of the wandering city that flickers through existence.
