Thinking about DP x DC Jason Todd being a revenant again. Here's my scenario. Jason gets called that by some ghost. He's like "what the fuck is that supposed to mean?" He's heard the term before but he doesn't know any actual lore. He googles it. He scrolls past the Leonardo DiCaprio bear movie. He opens the wiki. Sees the words "animated corpse" and gets a chill diwn his spine. He starts reading the first section.
Tumblr media
He closes Wikipedia.
That night he has a nightmare that his family buried him, again, this time with precautions. He wakes up in his own grave, full of stones, too heavy to move, to scream.

The more theories I come across about The Well, the more I love this episode.
Because we actually don't know anything and it's horrific.
The Doctor thinks he left it all nice and tidy and wrapped with a bow. He saved Aliss. And Shaya sacrificed herself to keep the Midnight entity trapped.
Except there's something behind Mo.
Except there were 4 life signs.
So were there three entities? Or were there two? Were there always many or did the Doctor split it by forcing it to face its reflection?
Did the an entity ever actually move to Shaya or did everyone just assume that and Shaya sacrifice herself for nothing?
Did she pull at least one entity down into the well with her? Or was there just a woman tricked into thinking she was doing her duty, doing some good, even as the entity waited patient and silent behind Mo to get off the planet and into a universe of a playground.
Did Aliss truly think that the entity had left her or did we never meet Aliss at all? Was Aliss long since dead and gone and her body just a puppet the Midnight entity was talking through?
Who broke the mirrors? Who corrupted the security footage?
How did Aliss get that cut to her arm?
Were there even rules? Or was the entity just playing? Was it moving to the person that killed its former host because it had to or did it choose to because it found that the most amusing?
Did it choose to leave Belinda for Mo instead of Shaya because it had learned from its old mistake?
We don't know.
We don't know.
We
don't
know

there's something about the fact that Murderbot still says "don't touch (me)" when on the verge of system failure
it feels more like an organic reflex than a programmed response, and i doubt a secunit with an intact governor module would be able to say that to it's clients
but even when it's buffering and glitching and leaking fluids, Murderbot can still ask to not be touched

stormbringers fucking insane for using rimlaine as a contrast to skk. these two couldnt trust each other fully and rimbaud only believed he could help verlaine feel human, not truly be so, and still considered him Other, however much he believed them to be equals, verlaines humanity only existed in rimbauds eyes because he gave it to him. verlaines inability to accept his own humanity or even really that rimbauds feelings for him were genuine because he, alone, singular, monstrously set apart from humanity, should be incapable of receiving anything resembling affection or genuine understanding, such that it left him betraying his partner. and then they cannot exist as two beings working seamlessly together. rimbaud and verlaine in fact cannot exist as two beings at all, only as one conjoined entity. verlaine kept alive with rimbauds skill, and rimbaud, long dead and refusing that reality until he can find his partner, existing only as an extension of verlaine. while skk who do trust each other blindly, who do see humanity in each other enough to look past when they doubt it in themselves, who see humanity not as a defined be or be not, but as a set of values, as a do or do not. they are able to exist as one act in two parts. interdependent, always, even down to their skills, but still functioning as one unit in two separate cogs made to fit together.

you ever think about the fact that laios won not by being a monster but by being human.
monsters as we’ve seen throughout the manga are predictable, they have this rhythm to them that, once someone understands, can be used to take them out. take kelpies like anne where laios states that she is just a monster and cannot be trusted. even kensuke is “just a monster after all”, running away from danger when laios needs it most. kensuke is beloved by laios not just because he is a monster, but because laios, in human fashion, anthropomorphized him in his mind (giving him a name, etc.)
but people are different. they are multifaceted, non-monolithic creatures. long lived races are not all pious and apathetic towards short lived races as we see with marcille and senshi. chilchuck actively works against the prejudice against half-foots. tallmen from every region have their cultural differences as we see with shuro and laios/falin. even “demi-humans” like orcs have depth to them, having rich culture and values despite the general idea that they are a violent pillaging race.
even laios’ family and village, the nexus point for his dislike of people, have depth to them. though their parents did not actively protect their children, they did not wish harm on them either. the exorcisms performed on falin by their mother was harmful in laios’ eyes, but helpful in his mother’s perspective.
laios himself, despite loving monsters and hating humans, is so very painfully human. he hates humans but has risked life and literal limb to save his sister and his party. he loves monsters but is aware of their dangerous nature and spares them no mercy.
(big spoilers under the cut)
the winged lion mistook laios as a one dimensional entity, one which only operates on a one track mind without paradox. it thought laios to operate like a monster, and so it approached his desires like one. it believed that laios, being so obsessed with monsters, must behave like one as well, so completely disregarded the fact that laios could have something up his sleeve.
but laios is not a monster, he is human. he has ulterior motives, overlapping beliefs, contradicting values. it is his humanness that made him explain to his party what to do when things went awry. it is his humanness that allowed him to lie. lie to the world about his true plan as well as lie to the winged lion about his intentions.
sure laios WANTS to be a monster, that much is definitely true. but what he IS is a different story. laios is an unpredictable, sporadic, messy human being. it is that fact which the winged lion overlooked, and ultimately led to its downfall and laios’ victory.

(yandere! french fry chef entity x gn! reader)
"it's too salty!"
"it's too bland!"
"these are so soggy!"
you were always complaining about fries. no matter how good or bad they were, you always had something to say about them.
especially to his fries. that weird french fry chef at this new restaurant near you.
it's not that his fries were bad. it's that they were too good. and you were suspicious of it. i mean what could he have possibly put in them to make them so delicious?
"you! where's your fry chef?!"
"dearest customer please-"
"i need to talk to you fry chef now!"
the cashier sighs, disappointed that you weren't looking for her. however, she goes and calls for the chef, desperate to meet your demands.
you wait impatiently, tapping your foot against the floor as the cashier slowly returns with a tall figure dressed in white. your grimace returns as you point an accusing finger at the french fry chef.
"you! what did you put in your fries!"
the chef looks down at you, neck tilting in a weird angle before he answers in an oddly deep voice.
"cum."

Random thought: Irontomb will lose its rage and betrayal against Nous and instead will turn it's hatred toward Nanook. Why? Because Phainon's wrath and anger knows no equal.
To say that, it implies heavily that Phainon's rage rivals, if not dominates Irontomb's desire for revenge. Now that Phainon's merged with Irontomb? Hilarious. Oh, Irontomb's reason for revenge is cuz it was discarded by Nous? Try 33 million+ cycles of constant death, destruction, loss of personality and accumulated hatred towards an Aeon who treated your home as a mere playground. LIKE I KNOW IT SOUNDS BATSHIT CRAZY BUT ITS A WHAT IF KAY

One of my earlier jobs in life was at a little pizza place. I worked there when it was first starting up. It’s the only job I’ve ever been fired from.
Anyway! For this story to make sense I’ve first got to set the stage. This pizza place started out as the Wild West of management but one of the original investors was super committed to work programs through the prison. We hired a ton of ex convicts and they were all, to a one, super hyped on Christianity. Like born again for the sole purpose of lauding Christ with their every breath.
I was raised without any religion which I liked very well. Throughout my life people have tried to inform me about their religion and I end up deeply resenting it. I’m good. I’m vibing. I’m staying in my lane. I’ve also had more than enough microaggressions for being queer that I get skittish around people who are especially devout.
I hadn’t been working there long but I’d definitely noticed the Jesus bug had gone around, I tried to steer clear of the topic for my own safety as much as possible.
The day our story takes place, I was folding boxes. Anyone whose ever worked pizza can attest, there’s so much box folding. It’s something that happens at every lull, the pizza machine demands box folding on a grand and epic scale.
On my right folding his stack of boxes was a guy wider than he was tall, made of pure muscle, Corey. He was newer on staff, and due to a stutter he didn’t talk much. All I knew about him was that he got hired through the rehabilitation program and had done time.
On my left folding was a tall middle-aged woman who loved to yell at me, Cindy. She and I rubbed each other the wrong way and had nothing in common, leading to a tense working relationship.
We folded boxes in silence. This was really my best case scenario as a quiet Cindy was a Cindy not riding my ass, and Corey intimidated me.
But the weight of the silence grew too much for Cindy, who finally said, “I really want to go to bible school.”
I folded a box. I had less than no idea what bible school even was and I didn’t want to get sucked into a religious topic.
On my right Corey said, “W-why, Cindy?”
“Well, cause I believe what’s in the Bible, but I just don’t know it all.”
He nodded sagely to this.
Cindy continued, “And every time I sit down to read the Bible I get real sleepy. And I know it’s the devil.”
It’s so hard to convey her tone in written format. It was delivered with the emphasis and exasperation of an inevitable inconvenience. Like, I just know it’s the squirrels eating the bird seed.
I froze in place at this pronouncement. My only exposure to Lucifer was Neil Gaiman’s Sandman comics and I was trying to mentally twist into a frame of mind where The Morningstar cared enough about this one middle aged lady expanding her knowledge of the Bible that he followed her around cursing her with sleepiness when she picked it up.
I think I expected Corey to say, “Well that’s silly,” or something to acknowledge what a bizarre thing Cindy had just said.
Instead he said, “Yeah!” In a tone of complete agreement.
I didn’t look up. I tried to keep my face neutral at this development.
But something must have shown. Corey said, “You don’t believe in God?”
I shrugged casually and said, “If I did I wouldn’t talk about it at work.”
“C-cause it’s t-true. If y-you t-ry to r-read the B-bible on unsanctif-fied gr-round the d-devil m-makes you s-sleepy!”
I made a noncommittal sound and fled into the back room.
Over the next week it drove me crazy though. The logic of it wouldn’t leave me alone so finally one day when it was just Corey and I in front, and the restaurant was empty, I said, “Hey man, I have a question.”
He shrugged and listened.
“I really don’t mean this with any disrespect, I just genuinely want to know about the logistics-“
“J-ust ask.”
“Okay, so if Cindy gets tired when she reads any book, is it only the devil making her tired when it’s the Bible?”
His face went purple with fury and he yelled, “F-fuck you!” at my retreating back as I fled once more into the back room.
It will forever remain a mystery.

Oh Mother
Mother of mine
I love you so
I love your weaving
I love your work
Oh Mother
Mother of mine
I want to help
But you tell me
"Wait, be patient
One day you'll help"
So I wait and wait
Wait for the day
Oh Mother
Mother of mine
You hand me scissors
And tell me
"It's time you help"
You guide my hand
And show me
Where to cut and
How to weave
The end into the rest
Oh Mother
Mother of mine
You show me thread
And say to me
"Let me show you
The way to weave"
You guide my hand
And tell me how
So I can weave like you
Oh Mother
Mother of mine
You bring me fiber
And ask
"Can you help?
I need more thread"
And I work to spin
Making more
More for your work
So you can
Make beautiful things
Oh Mother
Mother of Mine
I love helping
I love the work
I love the beauty
Of what I made
Oh Mother
Mother of mine
You tell me
"I need your help
It's different
But I'm sure you can"
And you don't
Need to tell me
Anymore
I will help
Oh Mother
Mother of mine
You hand me a knife
And I kill the folk
No longer needed
And I weave
The end
Into the tapestry
Oh Mother
Mother of mine
You teach me to lie
A useful tool
And I trick the fools
Mere pawns in
A game
And I make a scarf
Oh Mother
Mother of mine
You hand me poison
That won't kill
But make people
Do horrible things for
And I give it
To the beggars
And I make thread
For you
Oh Mother
Mother of mine
I love you so
I love your weaving
I love your work
The things I will do
All for You
Oh Mother
Mother of mine

Since Twink Bill was recently confirmed canon as a imposter of the real Bill Cipher, the logical thing to do here is have Dipper meet the guy in college and upon introducing him as his boyfriend to uncle Ford, learn the horrifying knowledge he has the same awful taste in men as Stanford upon learning his new boyfriend was in fact part of some weird Bill Cult and thats why he reminds him so much of Bill
