Obscure Animation Subject #177: My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale

A web series based on MLP G5 about Sunny Starscout and her friends having fun adventures together in Maretime Bay. It has the been mouth style and is in 2D. 93 5-minute episodes and a 22-minute special had been produced, releasing on YouTube from April 7, 2022 to October 17, 2024.

It’s meh, better than Pony Life and even Make Your Mark, but will never beat the godly Friendship is Magic.

Blythe Twilight Power Hour

From the discovery of Nickelodeon's TV movies simultaneously broadcast on Nickelodeon, Discovery Family and streaming on Paramount+ and Max, that gave me the notion to update the poster to my My Little Pony Friendship is Magic/Littlest Pet Shop 2012 hasbro crossover idea.

As a guy who loves meta humor, I made this compilation for the hasbro crossover's piece the start.

It was originally finished on October 1st, then updated to add another scene from When Nerds Collide that was at the end.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (2023) tries to update the franchise with new characters from the Beast Wars series and 90s nostalgia. The film attracts with humor and dynamics thanks to Mirage (Pete Davidson), but suffers from excessive action and a confusing plot, especially during the final battle. Although there are interesting moments and charismatic characters, the film does not go beyond the formulaic blockbuster.

Two stars - spectacular, but without emotional depth.​​​​

Should Zenkaiger and Donbrothers be dubbed?

A Disney Era producer was told by higher ups to "just dub the Sentai" and, well, what if they actually did that? Power Rangers but it just takes place in Japan here? It would fit DonBrothers in particular with the Japanese folklore of Momotaro. It would be an interesting experiment to say the least in visual effects editing and dubbing.

Given that they might focus on the reboot, it might seem unlikely but the allure of new teams and new toys to sell would be tempting.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (dirs. Jonathan Goldstein & John Francis Daley) x SXSW 2023.

There’s so much unabashedly geeky high fantasy fun in Honor Among Thieves. [Chris] Pine and [Michelle] Rodriguez make a fun buddy pairing while anchoring the strange but silly magical world battling evil wizards. To Goldstein and Daley’s credit, how they incorporate the storytelling aspect of role-playing makes for an overall cleverly enjoyable experience grounded in its characters’ clear motivations.
