Emma Frost x Tony Stark married headcannons

So it feels like at this rate we might not be getting a real wedding or marriage out of Tony & Emma which imo feels like a missed opportunity to explore the marriage of convenience trope and have a divorce battle between 2 of the messiest bitches in Marvel, but who knows there’s still another issue to go and anything can happen. In the meantime here are some headcannons

Tony finds out Emma’s a bottle blonde and teases her about it but makes up for it by helping her apply the hair dye in the bathroom

Tony is coy about his whereabouts one day and Emma follows him and finds out about his AA meetings. She listens in to his sharing for a bit before wanting to give him his privacy and heads back home. Eventually Tony tells her about the meetings in his own time

Tony nicknames her Em & Sparkles(which technically isn’t a hc since it happened in the comics ig I just think he would do it often)

In a similar vein Emma is always referring to him as Anthony. So much so that when another telepath or maybe shapeshifter tries to trick Tony into believing they’re Emma he catches on when the trickster refers to him as Tony instead of Anthony

Emma helps him tend to his bruises/wounds

The first time Tony catches Emma wearing his shirt immediately the heart eyes pop out. 1) because it’s the first time he sees her in something so casual 2) because well it’s his shirt duh

The first time Emma tries to cook for Tony is the last time Emma ever tries to cook for Tony as it ends with him putting out a fire and them ordering shawarma. He appreciated the effort though

They bond over their upbringings and daddy issues

Emma mocks Tony for being unimpressive without his suit. Tony in return mocks Emma for being unimpressive without her powers. Leads to them having a sparring session to settle it. Let’s just say they both win

Emma always acts disinterested when Tony rants about his tech stuff but she secretly loves seeing him nerd out about something he’s passionate about

When Riri meets Emma at first she thinks she’s sus(and it’s Emma so like fair) but eventually Riri warms up to her, but not enough to accept her job offers to work at Frost International. And unlike with Tony, Emma never pretends to be disinterested in Riri’s inventions. It’s always obvious she’s super invested, and when Tony calls her out on it Emma just says it’s because Riri’s way cooler than him(which she is)

Tony spoils the Stepford Cuckoos rotten, like even Emma thinks it’s a little much

Emma shows him some moves she learned back when she danced at the Hellfire Club

They calm each other down after waking up from nightmares

Emma initially assumes that since their marriage is a marriage of convenience he has no interest in being faithful or monogamous. Plus she’s used to feeling like 2nd choice because of Scott. It surprises her when Tony is willing to stay faithful and treat her like the queen she is

Tony Stark and Emma Frost

Going to miss these two in the comics, so I decided to create some more fanart of them to celebrate what was in the Invincible Iron Man comics. (Click on image above for larger version)

TFW an Iron Man comic has better Krakoa continuity than the X-books

Tony is dealing with the aftermath of Feilong and ORCHIS acquiring his company, with most of the board being his appointees. Obviously not happy about the Stark Sentinels situation. Jesus, he even calls back to 'where were you when our babies were burning?'

Feilong again, and the explicit mention of anyone working for ORCHIS being a collaborator. A lot of AIM joined ORCHIS and they've learnt from the experience of being junior partners.

Emma Frost shows up too while he's being magically assaulted, and their situationship/alliance actually feels like a recent thing. It matters.

It's done in a way that's self explanatory and doesn't require having read a single Krakoan issue. It's really not that hard, but the X-Men books aren't really trying to achieve it. I'm getting used to that, but seeing an Iron Man book of all things pull it off smoothly I just shake my head.

ALSO, West Coast Avengers featured Firestar truly struggling nearly a year on from the end of her undercover stint at ORCHIS. Of course she's a mess! She had the toughest job of anyone and she did it so well she fooled everyone but Night Thrasher. Six months of constant anxiety and exposure to atrocity rewires your brain. These 3 panels tell us so much about where she's at and the support she's not getting. Angelica has always been more Avengers-affiliated than X-Men, so it's understandable it's here instead of there - but this highlights what FTA is dropping the ball on. I get a clearer and more genuine picture of trauma than Wolverine's sulking in the woods or Cyclops' panic attack.

Tearing down the Krakoan era itself is banal, good stories are about people.

X-Men / Iron Man: The Wedding of Emma Frost & Tony Stark

Random.Tony Stark idea

Tony knows Emma Frost.

This isn't a stretch. Their families are rich. They grew up in New York. Emma's a little older than Tony in the way that he'll always be her little brother. She was actual college age when Tony went to college. Snuck the underage Tony into her sorority to sleep off hangovers and the girls frequently used Tony as a test dummy for makeup and nail looks. Worked with Rhodey at keeping the little genius safe and fed.

Many of the women over the years that Tony "went home with" were big sisters just looking out for baby bro still.

They were close like family once then Tony's parents died, Obie got in the way, Emma got mutant powers and started a school. Both took over their family businesses. They got busy.

Still the first time Emma sees Tony enter a gala trailed by churlish Avengers post Ultron with Wanda. Emma comes up with a smile for a hug and cheek kiss. Steve scandalized by her dress a whisper thin white evening dress that shows more than it covers.

Emma however doing her usually friendly sweep of Tony's mind freezes. She doesn't look at Wanda she throws up every mental shield she has and pointedly doesn't shake any of the Avenger's hands or really acknowledge them outside of Tony.

Which is noticed because this is Emma Frost. People know her. People are always watxhing her. She's always the center of attention the most beautiful woman you know with a razor wit, massive intelligence, and more money than almost anyone but Tony. When she snubs someone people NOTICE.

She gets Tony out on the dance floor and flatly tells him he has to come home with her. There's something wrong.

Tony thinks something is wrong with her. That she needs his help but once home is shocked and dismayed to find his mind has been tampered with.

Emma, a well trained experienced telepath with miles and miles more experience than Wanda, carefully pulls all that nasty influence out.

She crafts shields around Tony's mind. Tony wakes up and immediately his first thought is restoring Jarvis because Jarvis has a backup. Of course he does. Lots of them.

Emma let's him go back to his tower to restore his son after a good breakfast and more gratitude than she can handle from Tony.

Then she makes a phone call. Because someone has to deal with the little psycho psychic that fucked up her baby bro's brain and it sure as hell won't be her.

"Xavier. Darling. How have you been? Listen we have a problem."

And yeah I just want big sis Emma Frost to take one look at Tony's brain post Ultron with Wanda's nightmares in his brain and go oh hell no.

What I love about the line “…but I didn’t need to be a futurist to take one look at the woman and know Emma Frost was gonna break my heart and, damn, was I looking forward to it” is that it completely embodies my feelings on Tony & Emma’s relationship. Like yes I know that even if their feelings for each other turn real, and even if they decide later on they decide to actually get hitched the most likely outcome is still them breaking up because that’s what happens to most comic couples especially ones that have different editorial offices to answer to (look at Storm & T’Challa). It doesn’t change the fact that I’m still looking forward to seeing this relationship unfold between two people who are more alike then they like to admit. Both with their tough exteriors, literal iron and diamond, usually hiding behind a layer of wealth, superficial charm, & artifice but are now learning to break down their walls and be vulnerable with one another. And if they break each other’s hearts in the process then so be it, god knows these two would be just as iconic as exes than they are as spouses

Emma Frost and Kitty Pryde get a message from Tony Stark and Firestar. The latter (Firestar) tells them that she is doomed to die as Doctor Stasis found out that she is spying on Orchis all along. Tony Stark urges the two X-Women to bring Firestar back alive or if they fail to do so, she must be avenged. Much later, Doctor Stasis is running away like a dirty coward until he is stopped by Kitty Pryde and Emma Frost. Meanwhile, Synch manages to rescue Firestar from execution thanks to his power-synching which allowed him to detect a nearby mutant. Back to the hangar, Doctor Stasis gets his mind violated by Emma Frost who telepathically forces him to feel the pain of getting beaten up by many angry mutants. Suddenly, they get interrupted by the angry Firestar who crashes into the hangar to burn Doctor Stasis to crisp in her revenge for being used and nearly-killed by him. Emma Frost congratulates Firestar for having her killer instinct in getting her revenge on Doctor Stasis.
