I have a question! About bugs and arachnids and all them. Sorry to lump them all into one category, but I'd rather not make the same post multiple times.

My question is: Can they learn "tricks?"

By this I mean are they capable of learning, in general, I suppose. Like mice in a maze, magpies with a rock.

Also, what sorts of things have they learned? How do they learn (like watching others or from experience)?

I ask because it's something that really interests me. I know the ability to learn doesn't add or subtract value from a being, it's a curious thought as I know very, very little about beetles, and spiders, and bees, and so on!

Do they just know how to do things because it's all their kind have done since the beginning of them? Do they have to learn or are capable of it?

I watched Avengers: Age of Ultron (apart from I skipped some overly long action sequences) and I am not sure so can someone tell me whether or not Tony Stark was the baddy in that film? Because about halfway through I was sure he was but then it was maybe just an evil robot after all and I am confused because either this film was surprisingly subversive or it was about robots hitting each other.

The less we know about something the more our mind will be alerted by a sense of unsafety, and try to cover up for this void and discomfort. It will create many types of hindering thoughts (even fake ones) out of the fear of having to deal with the unknown, and keep us stuck in an old known place/"comfort" zone (even if we've outgrown it and need for things to change) in order to try and keep us safe/"save us". Please try to be objective and to not let it block you when it's unnecessary. Your mind doesn't know how things will be for real, it only knows how they used to be and it's using the idea of that painful experience possibly repeating to stop you from having something better. Evaluate your situation, pros and cons, patiently before making a decision.

i hope the folks planning on resurrecting Supernatural [re:jackles] are taking notes on what's happening in the 9-1-1 fandom and with this Buck character right now. i know next to nothing about this show, but i do know that 'Buddie' is a major mlm ship between two guy friends and that this guy Buck - a strong macho man in his 30s - has just been canonised as BISEXUAL! with a MLM kiss! after SIX seasons! the subtext was there all along but the network was not on board, by the sounds of it; a change of network saw this queercoded middle-aged male character finally set free. no more subtext, no insinuations that could be interpreted one way or another, just undeniable beautiful text. 

i'm thrilled for everyone in the 9-1-1 fandom and for this positive queer rep in media! here’s hoping other shows will take note - namely Supernatural. Dean has 15 seasons of queer subtext under his belt and he would now be in his mid 40s. it’s never too late to canonise a queer character. characters are never too old to realise they’re queer. this is such an important message, and while i can’t speak for the buckgirls i can say that queer deangirls have been relating to his queercoding for almost 2 decades, including 15 seasons of bi!Dean and 12 seasons of Destiel. seeing a character like Buck come out as queer after SIX seasons (i’ll keep saying it, it’s fucking amazing) is such a win not just for queer folk but for good storytelling; i know there were likely obstacles in finally getting here, and it would be great if queer characters could come out whenever they want instead of struggling against tptb, but six seasons has given the show a wonderful amount of time to delve into Buck’s character and journey with him through various plotlines. as a fan of the slow burn for romance, and a good amount of time for character development to play out, i love that there’s six whole seasons of Buck backstory to delve into for the leadup to his bisexual canonisation.

happy bi day Buck, may you inspire more creative control to cater to the characters instead of some suit in an office who’s never even seen your show and doesn’t care about your journey and narrative freedom. today is a great day.

not to be that guy but fr ankarna and cassandra are So much more marketable as a pantheon im dead fucking serious. doubt and the unknown? good and important, but in Marketing you have to add a bunch of shit to clarify intention like "stepping off the path and into the unknown is the first step to finding a better one" and "sometimes doubt and mystery is the path to the truth" and like. thats a lot to tack on. BUT if the goddess of Doubt and the goddess of New Beginnings are a package deal, BADA BING BADA BOOM you dont need to add a fuck ton of mortal interpretation to the divinity!

here is the doubt and mystery to lead you from your old ways! here is the dawn of the new ways you'll find!

Finally came up with a design for Taqqiq (the cat alien in upper right box) that I’m happy with so now I can post this :3 The image I used for Yildiz (lower right box) is a doodle that I think really captures the essence of them and the vibes I’m going for with her character (it’s hard to explain, but she’s supposed to draw power from the Unknown, which has warped her body to change depending on who is perceiving her)

Pronouns for the four:

Ishara (top left)- he/they/(she? Maybe she)

Taqqiq(top right)- he/it

Saanvi(bottom left)- she/they

Yildiz(bottom right)- any pronouns (for now? Pronoun preference may become part of their character growth by choosing an identity rather than let others make assumptions and choose for them. Yildiz has a lot of identity issues your Honor)
