Jayce would be a calico cat

-Is probably gonna knock stuff over since he's a attention whore

-Has a thing for taking naps on laps and purrs when his ears are scratched

-And he is one of those cats who wouldn't like to go in the bathtub he would literally give anyone a hard time who tries to bath him including scratching from the claws

January to April 2004. Fans of MY ADVENTURES WITH SUPERMAN would likely enjoy this poignant 2004 miniseries by Kurt Busiek and Stuart Immonen, about a young man named Clark Kent in a world very much like ours, where Superman is a familiar — and fictional — pop culture icon. Clark grows up the butt of many jokes, but when he's in high school, he discovers that he really does have powers like Superman's, something that has no precedent in his world outside of comic books.

If this premise sounds familiar, it's because it's a lot like the origin of the Earth-Prime Superboy, before he became a way for Geoff Johns to mock comics fans (and for DC to play out its institutional hostility toward Siegel and Shuster). In the pre-Crisis era, Earth-Prime, one of editor Julius Schwartz's little jokes, was supposed to be our world, where comics artists, writers, and editors transcribed the adventures of the real heroes of the other Earths. In the afterword to the trade paperback compilation of SECRET IDENTITY, Busiek admits that the similarities were wholly intentional, and that while he didn't mention it in his proposal (and DC didn't advertise it as such), this was essentially his extrapolation of that 1985 concept by Elliot S! Maggin, Curt Swan, and Al Williamson.

After moving to New York City in his '20s, this Clark becomes a reporter — though not for the Daily Planet — and meets a young woman named Lois Chaudhari. To my knowledge, this was the first time a counterpart of Lois Lane was presented as an Asian woman (although of course she's not precisely Lois Lane).

Throughout most of the story, Clark uses his powers only in secret, but he does make himself a Superman costume. Eventually, he feels compelled to come clean with Lois:

Like Busiek's ASTRO CITY, SECRET IDENTITY is a very introspective story, less interested in action (of which there's relatively little) than in emotion and small observations of life with superhuman abilities. If you're expecting bigger dramatic stakes, you may find the series underwhelming — there are no supervillains or alien invasions, just Clark's reflections on his life and family, from childhood to old age — and the fact that the story never reveals why Clark has powers may frustrate. However, its autumnal wistfulness is appealing if you're in the right frame of mind for it. Immonen's art is gorgeous, and I can't think of a better artist for this story, which straddles the line between a real-world environment and the "heroic realism" of the modern superhero genre.

Fourteen years later, Busiek tried to do a similar story with Batman, BATMAN: CREATURE OF THE NIGHT, with John Paul Leon, which doesn't work nearly as well, wallowing in some uncomfortable attitudes about mental illness and an inappropriate though deliberately ambiguous supernatural element. Leon's art is interesting, but the story leaves a sour taste, and it does not succeed (at all) in doing for Batman what SECRET IDENTITY does for Superman, which is disappointing.

* A tomar en cuenta que la mayoría de los eventos se realizan en la mañana o tarde dado el toque de queda. Los eventos caducan el día 1 de octubre.

𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐎𝐒 𝐎𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐒.

FERIA CULTURAL MUNDIAL MÁGICA.

19 A 23 DE AGOSTO. Londres recibirá la Feria Cultural Mundial Mágica anual donde magxs de todos los países visitan para presentar muestras de su propia cultura. Podrán encontrar comida, ingredientes para pociones, conferencias, música, libros y demás variedad de entretenimiento y productos. TÍTULO PARA STARTERS: FERIA CULTURAL.

ooc: Evento público. Cada país invitado contará con su propio espacio. Habrá refuerzos de seguridad para evitar cualquier altercado.

FERIA DEL EMPLEO.

24 Y 25 DE AGOSTO. Organizada por el Ministerio de Magia, la Fería del Empleo está dirigida a jóvenes magxs en búsqueda de una profesión, con diversos exponentes y actividades, incluyendo ayuda vocacional personal. Encontrarán promociones especiales para magxs de diecisiete años recién cumplidos, como recorridos por Academias de la ciudad. TÍTULO PARA STARTERS: FERIA DE EMPLEO.

ooc: Evento público. Su personaje puede asistir o participar en la misma al ser un exponente de su profesión.

SEMANA DE REBAJAS MÁGICAS.

26 AL 30 DE AGOSTO. Disponible en la mayoría de los establecimientos mágicos en Inglaterra. La ansiada semana de rebajas arriba previa al inicio de clases, donde se ofrecen montones de descuentos y ofertas para diversos productos. TÍTULO PARA STARTERS: REBAJAS.

SHOW DE TALENTOS.

31 DE AGOSTO. Con un premio de 10 mil galeones, el show de talentos patrocinado por la famosa revista Corazón de Bruja tomará lugar en Luna Creciente. Participación abierta a cualquier interesade. Los detalles de las inscripciones se publicarán pronto. TÍTULO PARA STARTERS: TALENTOS.

ooc: Evento público. Su personaje puede participar con cualquier talento que posea, sin embargo, se pide que no sean talentos que sean parte de su profesión (es decir, alguien que cante de manera profesional no puede participar como cantante). Luna Creciente es una plaza mágica famosa.

NOCHES DE ASTROS EN LA ACADEMIA DE ASTRONOMÍA.

6, 7 Y 8 DE SEPTIEMBRE. Para aquelles interesades en la Astronomía, la Academia de Astronomía de Londres ofrece una mágica experiencia para sus invitados. Durante tres días se llevarán a cabo campamentos para avistar constelaciones, acompañades de magos astrónomos especialistas y diversas actividades relacionadas. TÍTULO PARA STARTERS: ASTRONOMÍA.

FESTIVAL DEL ARTISTA / DRINK & DRAW.

6 DE SEPTIEMBRE. Patrocinado por la Comunidad Internacional de Artistas Mágicos (CIAM), el encuentro de artistas de todo el mundo se abre al público con diversas actividades. Fotógrafos, músicos, actores, escritores y demás están invitades para platicar con sus semejantes y exponer a los asistentes. Contaremos con puestos de pintura, dibujo, fotografía, escritura y más, así como venta de productos. Además de nuestro anticipado Drink & Draw, donde podrás expresarte en un lienzo gigante mientras compartes una bebida con tus amistades. TÍTULO PARA STARTERS: FESTIVAL.

ooc: Evento público. Se realiza en las afueras de Londres en un jardín de gran extensión (con mansión) perteneciente a la familia Pyrites. Su personaje puede participar como exponente.

NOCHE Y GALA DE ESTRENO DE "EL INFIERNO DE ORFEO".

13 DE SEPTIEMBRE. La emocionante historia de Orfeo y Euridice llega al público en este nuevo musical protagonizado por las nuevas caras del teatro mágico: Bertie Higgs, interpretando a Orfeo, María Jefferson a Euridice, y Phoebe Elliot como Persefone. Se promete que esta obra los sumergirá en el inframundo y a la vez les recordará que casi todo es probable por amor. Posterior a la obra se dará una gala (fiesta) en la casa Jefferson. TÍTULO PARA STARTERS: Obra.

FESTIVAL LGBTQ+ "HOPE".

14 DE SEPTIEMBRE. La Comunidad LGBTQ+ Mágica te invita a disfrutar de una noche de celebración. Encontrarán bebidas, baile, juegos, citas a ciegas y demás dentro. Si es de tu agrado, podrás portar un pequeño dije con la bandera de tu orientación o identidad. TÍTULO PARA STARTERS: FESTIVAL LGBTQ+.

ooc: Evento público. Tomará lugar en un bar mágico.

DESAYUNO DOMINICAL.

6 DE SEPTIEMBRE. La familia Travers se complace en auspiciar su famoso brunch dominical con el motivo de celebrar los treinta años de casados de Isaac y Alisson Travers. La cita es a las 11:00 a.m. en la Mansión Travers y el código de vestimenta es dorado y negro, el mismo evento incluirá deliciosos manjares cocinados por un chef francés y se contará con las salas de mujeres y caballeros para el deleite de les invitades. TÍTULO PARA STARTERS: DESAYUNO.

CONCIERTO BENÉFICO PARA DENBRIGHT RECORDS.

21 DE SEPTIEMBRE. El sorprendente regreso de The Hobgoblins tendrá lugar este sábado donde formarán parte de una serie de conciertos junto a Lorcan D’eath y The Weird Sisters, todo esto con el fin de designar una parte de las ganancias a la tienda de discos Denbright Records y así evitar que este mítico lugar sea perdido por su familia. Adicional a esto habrá venta de mercancía y discos, además de un sorteo para ganarse un meet & greet y autógrafos de la banda de su elección. TÍTULO PARA STARTERS: DENBRIGHT RECORDS.

is the 'a' in all the costumes for adamandi like... what they aim for? 'a' for grades, 'a' for adamandi, a secret other option, or 'a' for the school? is it something like. i don't remember the word for it but like a mascot for the school? logo?

The A stands for Ardess University! The costumes (designed by Hahnji Jang) are basically heightened school uniforms, so it’s like a little logo.

The Marmorei varsity jackets are thrifted and say “Astros” — which would probably be the college mascot, so the A on the sportswear also can stand for that. :)
