okay top 5 favorite books I think that my followers/tumblr would like in no particular order
Yume by Sifton Tracey Anipare
its magical realism that addresses the racism foreigners face in Japan (especially black people and people who are half Japanese)
The Library on Mount Char by Scott Hawkins
probably the best novel I have ever come across that has the most in depth orginal lore that you would only find a series buts it one book.
Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine
probably the best representation of how to escape your abusers
The Book Eaters by Sunyi Dean
what if vampires ate books instead of blood but with a lesbian and asexual representation in it. (also gives handmaiden tale vibes)
Lonely Castle in the Mirror by Mizuki Tsujimura
this is a beautiful story about how bulling/family trauma can affect kids. the premise is all of these middle schoolers are invited to a fairy castle for a whole year where they have to option to be granted any wish they desire as long as they find they hidden key. within the first week its obvious they all have one thing in common none of them are gong to school because of bulling.
I HIGHLY RECCOMEND THIS IF YOU EVER FELT LIKE AN OUTSIDER WHILE AS A TEEN BECAUSE YOU WILL RELATE TO AT LEAST ONE OF THE CHARACTERS
if you cant get a copy of this I suggest watching the anime movie or reading the manga.

SOFTLY ELLA WELCOME PAGE
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
🌟 staring: Ella
đŸŒč intro: Hi, i'm Ella, a 30 something woman (she/her) in France who loves to write and decided to share her writings with he world. Thus the birth of this blog, where you'll find writings, musings, and the occasional horny posting.
🌿 me:
i'm quite tall, and curvy;
Hopeless Romantic, I believe in true lov and divine unions;
Spiritual. I meditate a lot. Read tarot and learned energy & astrology through my lineage & my ancestors;
I am artistic & a little nerdy; I love to paint and write, and read. I like animes, mangas, manwha. and the IT crowd. (that's a joke and if you get it, there's a kiss for you!).
I also love cooking, particularly for others.
I'm pretty introverted and quiet irl. There's only so much "people-ing" I can take. If I'm comfortable with you, I can either talk your ear off or sit in comfortable silence for 5h.
I'm very sensitive, have quite an emotional depth.
I'm very sexual. (That does not mean I'm your slut or your personal sex toy. And I'm very clear about that boundary.) It's pretty impossible for me to be intimate with someone I have no feelings for.
I'm very flirty, and it's honestly a natural state of being, that's how I talk with people.
For the astrology girlies, boy lies and theylies, yes I am a Libra. Stellium. Do with that as you wish.
Note that I do not feel comfortable chatting with anyone under the age the 20.

👑 Boundaries: You can send me asks. Introduce yourself, be nice & polite. Or be naughty, but I won't be as nice
. You can compliment my writing, react to something I've written, ask if I can write a story...
⚔Don't call me yours. That's only with my consent. Please don't call me mistress either. It makes me feel like a school teacher (it sounds the same in french). Cute names are reserved for the people I know and chat with. You can call me Miss Ella.
đŸȘ·My Dms are blocked. That's reserved for mutuals or people I've gotten to know and appreciate. My DMs were filled with rude ass, entitled men demanding my attention or that I 'play' with them, helping them get them off. And they turned really disgusting when I drew boundaries. So since y'all can't behave, you're cut off.
I am a woman. If you want my attention, you need to earn it.

Urusei Yatsura was one of the first animes I watched (and Rumiko Takahashi's first) and when I started reading the manga I completely fell in love with her colorful hair, she always tries (perhaps too hard) for her love. I was so happy when I heard that there would be a new anime because I obviously didn't see the first one on air and now it's almost over, so I didn't want to miss the opportunity to upload a drawing of her.
Tumblr media

I am a lesbian and although I mostly use the word lesbian to describe my identity, I am also asexual, demiaro and nonbinary (tme), I'm one of the people that would describe my gender as lesbian, in my case I'm totally okay with being refered as a girl but i know not everyone is okay with that so please don't do this with others!
As some would've noticed my english is not the best, my first language is brazilian portuguese (ela/elu) and i can communicate in english and spanish (ella/elle). I'm currently studying korean an plan to be a polyglot at some point, I'm also constantly exercising my english and spanish cause i really want to be fluent someday.

My other interests are biology (which im majoring to), and literature (which i plan to major someday lmao), i love some good old classics, I'm studying to be a teacher so this might be considered an interest i guess (?). I love queer and goth media in general. Other subjects that i enjoyed in school were sociology, history, portuguese, english and spanish, oh and I'm an artist and often post fanart, i plan to make comics someday. I'm reading this manga called Hengoku no Schwester and it's in 1500s Europe and there's this drug that makes people see miracles (they're actually just hallucinations) that I assumed was just a fantasy drug but this girl recognized several major facts bc her mother was a healer:
hallucinations are a symptom of Saint Anthony's Fire, aka ergotism
the establishment she was at had fields of rye they didn't appear to be using for anything
ergot was growing on them, which she knew was the cause of ergotism
if you synthesized ergot in a specific way, you could probably get it into a form that only causes the one symptom instead of all the other stuff
and then the narration box appears and says "there's no way Ella would know this, but this is how LSD would be made 400 years later"

9 Fandom Peeps to Get to Know Better

3 Ships You Like: oh boy lmao. i'll ship practically anything, i'm so easy for ships. but ok, i suppose the ones i'm rotating in my head the most right now: weilan (shen wei/zhao yunlan from guardian), kakehai (kakeru/haiji from run with the wind), dream husbands.
First Ship Ever: probably something in warrior cats? or like ... redwall. first ship i can remember? absolutely artemis fowl/holly short.
Last Song You Heard: all i've been doing recently is listening to 摊äș”äșș (accuse5) on artist shuffle, and my phone says the song i paused in the middle of when i finished cooking dinner is çșą.
Favorite Childhood Book: oh man ... there are a lot, but probably ella enchanted. i think the author (gail carson levine)'s writing craft book for youths, writing magic, is the first one i ever read. i was looking it over again recently and a lot of the advice holds up!
Currently Reading: nothing actively? i'm in-between longfics, and i haven't opened an actual printed novel in a while. but i just got island of the blue dolphins and a bunch of manga about being nonbinary from the library, so maybe those ... eventually. (though last time i did borrow like 3 books and hold them for 3 months and then return them all unread oops).
Currently Watching: oho, a bunch, as always. i'm watching guardian, i'm like two episodes from the end and so so scared about it. i'm following dungeon meshi as it airs, and following along vaguely with warumono-san and a sign of affection. i'm also working my way through joker game, which i am liking soooooo much, wow, the episodes are like, vignettes following different spies from the same group. no over-arching plot (other than like, world war two lmao) has really appeared yet. oh and i'm sloooowly watching spy x family season 2 with a friend.
Currently Consuming: nothing, but i just ate sooooooo much rotini pasta :3 and i might make sotteok sotteok once i wash my pan out
Currently Craving: fried potato ...... any shape would be ok ...

IL GHIRLANDAIO (Domenico Bigordi o Domenico Curradi, Firenze 1448-1494)
Tumblr media
Workshop of Domenico Ghirlandaio - Portrait of young woman (1490 ca) National Gallery, London
Taller de Domenico Ghirlandaio- Retrato de una joven mujer (1490 c.) National Gallery, London
Bottega del Ghirlandaio- Ritratto di giovane donna (1490 c.) National Gallery, London
(English / Español / Italiano)
In the mid-15th century, portraits of women began to change. Until then, female sitters were depicted in profile, a distant, formal pose ultimately drawn from ancient Roman coins. The young woman depicted here, whose name we do not know, is turned towards us in a three-quarter pose, revealing more of her face and allowing us to relate to her more directly. By using a perspective closer to that experienced in real life, the portrait is transformed from an image to an encounter with the individual portrayed.
Although probably idealised, as was common in portraits of the time (especially those of women), her features betray something of her character: we can read determination in her small but prominent chin. Portraits were thought to represent a person's whole being (appearance and personality) even after death.
When this painting was purchased in 1887, the sleeves of the girl's dress had been repainted; this layer was removed to reveal its original dark green colour. The girl's hairstyle, which was fashionable around 1490, and her clothing are very similar to a portrait of Selvaggia Sassetti attributed to Domenico Ghirlandaio's brother Davide (now in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York). The portrait was once thought to be by Ghirlandaio's brother-in-law Sebastiano Mainardi, but it is not close enough to his style to be certain. It is more likely that the portrait was painted by an unknown member of Ghirlandaio's workshop, in his style.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey! 🐗 Here and I know that your oc is very different from another OC but they kinda reminded me of each other, *cough cough priests in mond cough cough* it's from a webtoon called breeze to ascension and I totally recommend it! I don't remember the name of the character right now but the story is really good and I think you might like it, based on my very bad character read lol. Anyway thanks for the answer and oh my gosh Ella, hilichurl OC's for the win!!!!!!!!! She is already in my heart and I love her!!!! Wings!!!! She is just so akbeksjqvmshdbwjs!!! Care to elaborate a little on her? My mind in already making up scenarios with her and I don't even know her lol

Tumblr media
I don’t usually read Webtoon but I can at least look it up!
Also Ella!! Yay!!! I love her sm I’d be more than happy to talk a bit more about her!
Her entire deal is that she is a winged Churl, which were thought to be extinct. If you look through the Genshin manga (or just look em up), you can see that they existed during the time Mond was under the aristocracy rule!
She is able to speak the common language and has “human” intelligence, making the Mondstadtians feel a bit off and iffy about killing them.
She a take-no-shit give-no-fucks kinda girl. She will fuck you up, no hesitation if you mess with her.
She’s essentially the Churl representative for Mond. Churls & humans have reached a kinda symbolic relationship here because of Ella’s & Ludwig’s attempts!
I can also say this about her, she fucking hates Liyue. She flew over it once, nearly got killed by a certain short Anemo boy. Fucking hates them. She hates a lot of thing ngl-
For world building I like to give them voice lines so here’s a few:
Good Morning: “What are ya doin’ out here? The sun’s barely up and you’re going f’ what? A walk?.. Let me come with. The sleepin’ pile’s gettin’ crowded.”
Good Night: “The moon’s up
Nice time f’ a bonfire beneath the stars
Wanna come? Pretty sure some of m’ mates are gonna sing some songs. You ever danced a Hilichurls waltz?”
Good Afternoon: “It’s nice ta take a moment
jus’ ta breath n’ take it all in
oh. You’re here too, I guess.”
Good Evening: “Nice crisp winds, perfect f’ flyin’. You got one of them uh
wing gliders? If not you can ride m’ back. No right grips or nothin’ though.”
When it Rains: “Guh
 hate the rain
makes m’ hair all matted n’ stuff
you know how hard it is to comb ya hair with no hands?”
After the Rain: “Ngh
 Now m’ all wet n’ cold n’ shiver-y
”
When it Snows: “GAH?! I don’t fly up Dragonspine f’ a reason!! To cold TO COLD!!”
When the Wind is Blowing: “Finally, some nice weather!”
About Ella: “What do ya wanna know me? M’ a talkin’ Churl who has wings. What else could ya possibly want ta know?”
About: Vision: “Vision? Don’t got one. Doubt the bast
 I mean
people up in Celesta would even consider givin’ one to a ‘monster’ like me..”
About Diluc: “Diluc? Ya mean that guy who goes around at night beating m’ friends up? Yeah, hate his guts. Should see how he looks at me when I stroll around town durin’ th’ day.”
About Razor: “Wolfie? Ya I know im’. Nice little thing when ya really talk to im’. Nice hunter too. Gets th’ good stuff heh.”
About Klee: “The amount of time I’ve had ta tell her I ain’t for blowing up is insane. Good kid, don’t get m’ wrong just
 uh
I don’t know what ta call her honestly
”
About Albedo: “The weirdo tries ta experiment on me every. Single. Chance he gets. Can’t shake im’ off or nothin’. Hate im’ and hate the way he looks at me
 freak
”
I think I’m gonna stop here, but that’s the basis for her! She will beat you up, no hesitation, give her a chance. She will. And I wanna hear some of your ideas now that you know a bit about her! â˜†à«źê’°ËŠá—œË‹* ꒱ა
Also more questions are always welcomed and appreciated!! à«źê’°Ë¶á”” ᗜ ᔔ˶꒱ა˖âș‧₊˚

More Yuri, More Manga
It's been a year since I embarked on my journey to read more yuri manga and it's time for a second update!
After all the yuri manga I read for my previous post, I set my eyes on josei and came to the conclusion that josei that either focuses on wlw or contains wlw relationships, is the best kind of manga there is. I read a lot of josei, and as for works that were also yuri, I read Love My Life, Indigo Blue and Free Soul by Yamaji Ebine, based on a recommendation from @theurbanfuturesoftherecentpast (thank you!!!). Yamaji Ebine has a neat minimalist style and she writes messy complex characters. All her manga had a realistic feel to them, which I enjoyed.
I explored other queer works and stumbled upon Yuri to Koe to Kaze Matoi by Renjouji Mei, which is a yuri manga focused on two asexual women and their relationship. Once again, I found the characters highly relatable and realistic. It's nice to see some asexual representation, but at the same time, I wouldn't have minded more development between them, although that might be on me and the expectations I have when I pick up a new yuri title, that unfortunately didn't fit this manga or topic. Both characters were ace, but the protagonist felt romantic attraction whereas her crush didn't. While they got a happy ending, I didn't feel fully satisfied, and would've liked if the manga had explored the partially unresolved feelings more, mostly due to personal reasons, even if the conclusion would've been the same (which it probably would've).
Back to some high school yuri, I finished Omoi no Kakera by Takemiya Jin, which I actually started reading early last year. It's another manga that's relatable to me, as it portrays characters with different sexualities, who befriend each other due to the shared experience of being young, closeted queer people. We got wlw/mlm solidarity, and characters who are more secure with their sexualities looking over those who are still trying to figure theirs out. The interactions and communities reminded me of the queer youth group I used to be part of :') In addition to that, I liked the portrayal of different kinds of attraction, and how the focus was on the life of a queer person, rather than a specific romance they experienced, since there's indeed more to being queer than some singular love story. Out of all the manga on this list, this is one of my top recommendations, and at some point I should check out Takemiya's other works. She's out as a lesbian, and you can tell she writes based on lived queer experiences.
One day when I didn't have anything else to read, I picked up Luminous=Blue by Iwami Kyoko (same author as Kyou wa Kanojo ga Inai kara). It had the same beautiful artstyle as Kyou wa Kanojo ga Inai kara, was slightly less toxic, but equally messy when it came to the relationships. Luminous=Blue is about a transfer student who loves photography. She starts taking photos of her two new classmates, who unbeknownst to her used to go out with each other, and still harbour some lingering feelings towards each other. I was a fan of the different relationship dynamics and happy with the direction the manga and the relationships took, although the last pages included a twist which felt a little out of place. It's a shame, because if it had been given more time, it could've been a very interesting and welcome development, and I'm curious if Kyou wa Kanojo ga Inai kara will go in a similar direction, since it has the prerequisites for it.
I also read Toumei na Usui Mizuiro ni by the same author, which had an interesting premise of a girl with a crush on her female childhood friend, who was dating their other, male childhood friend. Normally I like this kind of setting with love triangles that include both straight and queer relationships, but since this was only 3 chapters long, the characters and their dynamics weren't established enough for the story to feel as cohesive and satisfying as it could've. At least the art was gorgeous once again, and I enjoyed the messy relationships. The volume contained two one shots as well, which I think were kinda fun, but I cannot remember that well anymore.
Next up, I read Moonlight Flowers by Tsukumo Mutsumi, based on a personal recommendation from someone who has since escaped tumblr. It's one of the older yuri works there are, as it was written in 1989. It's only one volume long and contains two stories about women who are pressured to marry men, and end up in miserable marriages, until they decide to leave their husbands to be with the women they love. It has a strong feminist message and I've seen a lot of people praise it online, but I wasn't too fond of it. I couldn't quite connect with the characters, and because of that, I didn't particularly enjoy reading about women lacking rights, or homosexuality not being socially accepted. However, I can see how others might be able to feel inspired or empowered reading about characters who overcome the obstacles in their way. It was also quite dramatic, but I will always be in favour of that (even when it's ridiculous, like it was here).
I continued with Sakura no Sono by Yoshida Akimi, which was another recommendation from the same person. It's another old manga, first published in 1985, about the romances of four girls in a drama club of an all girls high school. I found Yoshida's style charming, but it's not among my personal favourites. Some characters looked quite similar and were hard to distinguish. It was disappointing to realise that only one chapter focused on a girl crushing on another girl, while the other romances and the majority of the manga were about straight characters/relationships. If I would've known that from the start, I could've adjusted my expectations accordingly, which is a shame, because now I'm mostly disappointed by the lack of yuri, and it's harder for me to appreciate the work as a whole. It was decent, but quite forgettable.
Then I completed Watashi no Muchi na Watashi no Michi by Momono Moto (same author as Yuunagi Marbled and Kimi Koi Limit from my previous post). I first started reading it 5 years ago, but didn't finish it due to the scanlation taking its sweet time. Now I read it from start to finish. It's about a woman in her early 20's, who's spent all her life pleasing others, and is on the path to marry a male childhood friend of hers, simply out of duty to him and her mom, before her female coworker steps in and swoops her away. The manga takes a weird turn after that, as it turns out the coworker might've had some ulterior motives getting close to our protagonist, but it's interesting, until a somewhat abrupt ending. It was nice to read about a young adult who never cared for romance until she fell in love with her coworker, and for once I didn't even mind the plot point where she was about to marry a man, since it made sense for them and he wasn't overly vilified for how he reacted to her rejection or the reveal of her relationship with another woman (not that it was great either). The art was nice and I liked all the characters. It wasn't anything groundbreaking, but it was a fun read.
Another recommendation from @theurbanfuturesoftherecentpast was Maka-Maka by Kishi Torajiro, an adult manga about the close relationship between two best friends, Jun and Nene. The manga is two volumes long with short chapters in full colour, which required some adjustment from me as I'm usually only reading manga in black and white. It didn't feel like any other yuri I've read, in a good way! My absolute favourite part was how comfortable Jun and Nene were with each other, with a strong mental connection, and frequent, casual sexual encounters. Their relationship felt real and I loved how they kept smiling throughout the sex scenes, which made for an interesting combination of wholesome and horny. I highly recommend this manga, as I'm still thinking about it months later...
Next up, I read Watashi no Sekai wo Kousei suru Chiri no You na Nani ka. by Amano Shuninta. It's about seven university students and their ever changing relationships. Once again, the protagonist was a whole mood as she complained about all her friends having boyfriends which she hated, having a very relatable crush on one of said friends, before getting to live the fantasy of ending up with her. I looooved the inclusion of a toxic lesbian (and her toxic lesbian clique) who would sleep around and toy with others, letting lesbians be flawed people too, but also having wholesome and genuinely good people in the cast, as a counterbalance and showcase of the whole spectrum of different people with different views on love and sex (especially fitting for the university age/setting). There were happy times, but also angst and heartbreak, and bittersweet love, between women who truly cared for each other, but weren't suitable for each other as they had different needs when it came to their relationship and sex life. At first it was a little challenging to keep track of seven different characters, but by the end of it I really enjoyed the various relationship dynamics and the somewhat unlikely friendships that formed between them.
I also read Sweet Guilty Love Bites by Amano Shuninta, which consisted of three short stories about four cabaret girls. The first story was about one of the cabaret girls taking in a random woman she came across, which I didn't care for that much. The second story was about a single mother who unknown to her, hooked up with her child's kindergarten teacher. First she freaked out, thinking she'd be judged for her profession, but the kindergarten teacher was chill and only looking to date her. It was very sweet to see them take care of the child together. I also loved the third story about two cabaret girls who were best friends and roommates, with one of them being very vocal about her love towards women and other cabaret girls, which is a trait I always appreciate. Seeing her pining for her friend/roommate/coworker was great, and precisely the kind of stuff I love! Amano has a lot more in her library and after enjoying these two manga, I think the rest are worth checking out as well. I especially like how her characters are allowed to be horny, but there’s more to her manga than just sex.
Then I picked up Kimi to Shiranai Natsu ni Naru by Keyyan, thanks to the premise which sounded relatable. It’s about two women who are at the end of their university studies and looking for work in Tokyo, facing rejection after rejection. They’ve had enough of it and decide to run away from all the expectations and responsibilities to a small island. First of all, what a mood. Second, I really liked the art, especially the character expressions, and how well their excitement was conveyed. The island setting was also A+, and I loved the portrayal of young adults who were in an established relationship, with no uncertainty or drama about the same-sex relationship itself. They were devoted to each other, and the reason both of them wanted to work hard, so they could provide for one another. Besides that, my feelings towards this manga went back and forth quite a lot. First I enjoyed the escapism, but then I had to take a break because it became too idealised with conveniences you can't count on in real life. Once I picked it back up again, I realised that the story actually does stick to reality, when the characters start to worry about money and finding permanent work on the island. While I was happy with that development, it backfired as I was reading this while I was away from home myself, and anxious about my own future in regards to my education and employment, so reading about their struggles felt a bit too real and stressful. Unfortunately, it seems like the series got axed, because the ending was sudden and can be interpreted in two opposing ways, one depressing, one hopeful, and neither fits the story I can only assume the series wanted to tell. It's still a manga worth reading, but maybe in the right mindset.
Although I try to stay away from ongoing works, Dore ga Koi ka ga Wakaranai by Oku Tamamushi seemed fun, so I couldn't help but check it out. It’s about a girl who is unable to confess to her high school crush of 3 years, and starts university determined to find a girlfriend. And oh boy does she find potential girlfriends! She instantly meets and falls for five different women, who also become enamoured with her. What follows is a bunch of flirting, some deliberate, some accidental. The catch is, she doesn't know which one to pursue seriously. The tone is lighthearted and comedic, and the series is best described by the tagline to one of the chapters as "an endless conveyor belt of yuri encounters". I like all the girls, the girls and their embarrassed or flustered expressions are very cute, and instead of the setting falling apart with five people never confessing or trying to seriously pursue the main girl, some do, while others have believable reasons to hold back. The pace is quick enough for any interruptions or miscommunications to not feel aggravating, with several encounters each chapter. I'm curious to see how the manga will continue and potentially end, with some ships seeming more likely than others, since there has been some actual development! I'll also throw it out there, that this manga is a good example of why dark haired girl/light haired girl is an established pairing, since the main pursuer at the moment has light hair and bangs like the protagonist, and it can be a little difficult to tell them apart from some panels or angles.
Another ongoing work I began reading because it ticked the right boxes for me was Sukeban to Tenkousei by Fujichika. As the name suggests, it’s about the somewhat unlikely relationship between a delinquent girl and a sweet transfer student. The manga is set in the Showa era in the 80s and has very charming art. I thought it would be pretty lighthearted and fun, opposites attract type of story, but then one of the characters saw how romantic love was defined as feelings towards the opposite sex, heartbroken by the fact there wasn't a name for her feelings, and I was in tears thinking of anyone who's ever felt that pain. Otherwise, it's mostly a comedy and a fun, easy read, with not that many chapters out yet.
Tumblr media
Finally, reaching the anniversary of my year long yuri journey, I finished reading the manga adaptation of Murasakiiro no Qualia, by Ueo Hisamitsu and Tsunashima Shirou. It's a sci-fi series with psychological and mystery elements, about Yukari, a girl with purple eyes who sees humans as robots, and Gaku, the protagonist who befriends her. There are a lot of twists and turns to the story, and it gets gory and dark, as Yukari uses her abilities to help the police solve murder cases and later gets involved with a secret organisation. It's also very philosophical and a bit difficult/slow to read at times, when characters get surprisingly deep into quantum mechanics. I liked the narration a lot, because there's a lot of repetition and Gaku, who's telling the story, jumps back and forth on the timeline, giving the reader more context and insights each time. I was also a huge fan of the character development she went through, starting to exhibit truly unhinged behavior to a level that's hard to find elsewhere, but also oddly reminiscent of Madoka Magica? The ending was satisfying, and it was cool to see it circle back to the beginning. I didn't know anything about this manga beforehand and after a curious start, it kept getting better and better. I originally found out about it in the tags of a tumblr post complaining about variety in yuri, so this is me giving back to the community and passing on the recommendation.
...That was a lot more yuri to add to the library, and there are still so many different works I look forward to reading! I don't know if I'll continue documenting my journey, as I'm probably going to slow down on the yuri a bit, but who knows if the bug bites me again and I won't read anything else for months on end! Again, thank you for reading through all this, I hope you're inspired to read some yuri yourself, and if you have any recommendations I'm always happy to hear them!

❝ just remember, the storm doesn't last forever. it can scare you; it can shake you to your core. but it never lasts. the rain subsides, the thunder dies, and the winds calm to a soft whisper. and that moment after the storm clouds pass, when all is silent and still, you find peace. quiet, gentle peace. ❞

SUMMARY
EVEN THE DIVINE WERE NOT exempt from the misfortunes of fate. those who rule teyvat bear their burdens of loss and blood, of the times of peace they once lived sullied by the ugly scars of war. even the gods look upon their lands and wish for their respite away from their bleak reality and loneliness.
YOU WERE A YOUNG GOD, born in an age of a peace that stood upon foundations yet to be reinforced and solidified. the whispers of the dead long past meet your ears and mortal longing beats within your heart. but fate, as it is, dispassionate against the divine and the mortal lets your ascension be marred by three cruel curses.
PERHAPS YOU WERE DOOMED to be forgotten from the start, to be glanced over by the heavens till you fade away from history and it's writings. but you still keep walking, keep wandering, despite your fears and heartache, bearing the scars of a war upon your back and your final penance. a promise that you hope to keep for a friend and lover till the very memory of you slips away.

So like, reading Maximum Ride again after like 4-6 years and like, there are so many things I’m questioning. For starter Manga reader only because I have this issue of not being able to read other forms of something I’ve already read. Brain kinda shuts down. So like
1) The whole Max, Martina (Martinez?), and Ella thing is just so strange. For starters Max is just awful. Prioritizing a random girl being cornered and has an easy escape route (Max took it after all) over your 6 year old sister who is in the hands of actual mad scientist who you know has actively done shitty unethical things is just, why?! Angel could’ve been saved just a bit earlier if you listened to Fang! But also the whole Martinez has something to do with the school but then it’s completely forgotten.
2) Max leaving the Blind guy and the 8 Year Old alone because “Angel (who is to young to know how to escape the school) might escape and come back here”. Gazzy has little combat experience because he is either told to run/hide or uses bombs and Iggy is BLIND!
3) Iggy really goes between I have the best hearing in the flock to I have normal human hearing. Like sometimes he can hear Erasers (like only twice?) or the homeless people in the subway and most of the time either he’s surprised by them (angel’s kidnapping or the ambush when Max and Fang leave) or Angel finds then before him (the two children). Like, JP make it’s consistent! Let Iggy be the Flock’s alarm so when they don’t have him in the group they suffer more casualties! Especially during when Erasers become robots so Angel becomes useless (like de buff the girl honesty)
4) speaking of Iggy. He has been shown enough times that he’s really REALLY smart. Building bombs, being able to remember recipes to cook, learning and mapping places out (E house and Anne’s place), yet JP literally doesn’t expand or utilize it to its fullest. Iggy could probably be the Flocks brain but no~, he’s to blind to be the flocks brain, let’s have Fang (the right hand man, second command of the flock, has invisibility powers and (I just learned) immortality) and Angel (child with telepathy, mind control, shapeshifting, and probably other things) be the brains and Max (leader and golden child) have moments here and there. The most I’ve seen of Iggy utilizing his brains was lock picking or making bombs/planning out traps. I could be missing some but JP makes it so hard to know.
5) the severe infantilism of Iggy
6) Gazzy still has no new power unlike everyone else (but Iggy’s are pretty shitty because they all are powers to “help him see without him actually seeing”). Like let him have telepathy or maybe a way that only him and Angel can communicate each other.
7) Nudge. Like she isn’t as bad as Iggy and definitely not the worst like Gazzy, but god she’s still really poorly written. She has this whole thing of not wanting to be a freak and wanting to find her family and wanting to be normal and not having to run all the time but every single one of these just stops on a dead note! It like stops existing after like 2-3 chapters and never brought up. Like she’s the most interesting girl in the flock but just so butchered.
8) their looks. Ok I’m not gonna harp so badly on the Manga artist because she is Korean and Korean beauty standards and all that is just bad in general but that’s just cultural differences. But one thing I never understand was that makeup transformation. Angel who has short hair suddenly has hair that goes below her neck. Nudge’s bleached streak somehow stays even though her natural hair should’ve shown by the 9 manga vol. Fang who always was shown with straight hair now has really curly hair. That’s not how hair works and let’s not talk about Iggy and those weird dark tips.
9) Fax and Ella/Iggy (which I learned was canon. I was wondering where all those Ella/Iggy stories came from) I don’t hate straight ships. I just hate these straight ships.
10) oh poorly written trauma handled even worse my beloved. Your telling me Iggy, the one who was awake the entire operation on his eyes doesn’t have trauma. Your telling me Fang, who almost died to an Eraser doesn’t have trauma. Your telling me Max, the one who continuously has a voice in her head, a chip in her shoulder, seeing an Eraser in the mirror doesn’t have trauma?! Angel?!
But like I could continue because there is so much but, there where definitely things I liked. I like how Iggy was drawn. Out of all the characters he looked always bony and skinny and long. Like even next to Fang who is supposed to be the same height he looks so twiggy and tall. Gazzy was so interesting because he was that grey “I suffered through the school but I was also way to young to remember” and I wish it was expanded more. I liked the Ari arc if you ignore every other Ari part in the story. Total was nice if we found nice as before he talked.
Like not to be the paranoid one but if I was in the flocked I would be questioning everything. A Gazzy photo from an abandoned apartment? They could’ve stuck it there after knowing their research was stolen just to trap the flock. Anna watching a new about Iggy’s parents? She purposely put it on so Iggy will be removed. Erasers still finding the flock? Did anyone thing that the others might have chips in them, especially when Fang, Gazzy, and Iggy where attacked. Also how does Fang still have his laptop when he was captured by the institute?

đ„žâšŸđ“ąÖŽà»‹ About me! ⭑.ᐟ
Tumblr media
This post IS LONGGGG Hi I'm Ella, this page is mainly for me to rant and talk about things I like. Below is more about me as a person and my interests, I do like talking about my personal life to a degree without giving much information out just so you know. Ella isn't my real name either it's a nickname I go by on some of my socials.
Name: Ella
Age: I don't like going into specifics, but I do follow dnf's that restrict certain ages according to my actual age, just keep creepy things to yourself! <3
Just so you know I do tend to overshare on my posts, I try keeping an open mind most times, due to my personality and the way I was brought up I am relatively mean when talking about others even if I don't exactly mean to be. I don't necessarily trash talk people in specific but I tend to be overly honest with people which causes feelings to get hurt etc, etc. I speak what I perceive to be the truth so I lack friends irl..
Personality: It's changed almost every time I took the MBTI test, probably because I took it on 16p.. But I also self typed too and looked into how people who actually are the MBTI I call myself act and respond as a person and compared it with myself I so I guess it's self typing? I don't know. But INTJ is what I find most relatable to myself and how I perceive the world and interact with people. Not too sure of an enneagram I haven't found a free test for that yet.
Interests: Ani-manga, Horror genre things, JJK, PMM, Death note, tbhk, danganronpa. Drawing, Character design, Fanfic reading or writing, world building, character writing, Reality shifting, japanese folklore, I love using folklore when creating characters it is so much fun to interpret and create a design incorporating elements from history, or just irl things in general. I like hazbin hotel, don't come for me I hate the humor in it but I love the idea of the show being an interpretation of heaven and hell and the society in it. Harry potter kind of not really.. Never was much into it. give anime reccomendations pls I need more things to watch!!
Music taste: ANYTHING LITERALLY ANYTHING IM IN THE MOOD FOR I WAS ABLE TO LISTEN TO A 6 MINUTE SONG ABOUT CORNDOGS PERFECTLY FINE IDK HOW. I have bad hyperfixations when I comes to music genres so these are my tops, Emo claimed bands, female manipulator music, pop punk and some hardcore bands, I don't have any at the top of my head, but I was able to listen to black metal, death metal, parody songs the electro swing remix was fire! I can get down to taylor swift and baby shark, I can listen to drill, rap, phonk, songs in spanish or even swedish. country, folk idc. My playlists due to my recent revamp, Are more fixated on ariana grande, sabrina carpenter, mitski, lana, and very few taylor swift, I like alternative music too, I know I'm forgetting so many different genres but those were what I could list off best so keep that in mind. early 2000s-2016 music is top tier fyi. though frank Sinatra is a G oms.
Other random things: I'm all for self improvement and learning more about myself and other topics if I ever magically start liking something you know about by all means info dump, My fav seasons are fall and winter. I'm a winter baby <3 I prefer "cunty" music made by women rather than gay men or trans women (Love y'all too dw.) It just feels more authentic to me if you know what I mean, I can't properly like describe it for some reason but just trust me it's not because I hate that group of people. (I hate everyone equally !!!) I'm a medical NERD, my favorite medical dramas are HOUSE!!! HOUSE I LOVE YOU HOUSE PLS ADOPT ME AND TEACH ME EVERYTHING HE'S THE ICON PLEASE PLEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASE. He's funny and I love his way of thinking. (I just realized we have the same personality type live laugh love that!!) My personality does kind of differ online due to the character limits on tumblr, because if it were up to me every one of these sections would have 5 different paragraphs per thing thank you. I'm an honors student idk if thats shocking to anyone but yea. This also probably will be more shitposting based just random takes from my perspective like reviews on starbucks drinks and just random events. the format is probably going to be more like, diary like idk? its just me posting my thoughts and leaving it out for you all more anonymously if ykwim? I was bullied all of my elementary years over a single unsanitary habit I had. (Picking my nose, like everyone made a point to leave me out due to this. EVERYONE collectively even when i stopped it still happened.) I'm insanely delusional not in a cute or quirky way like "omg he likes me guys" like no, I convinced myself for a month that I had schizophrenia even though I had 0 symptoms or auditory hallucinations or visual hallucinations. I did constant research and found myself on schizophrenia tiktok. Like dawg is trippin fr fr, overthinking and analyzing every little thing is my favorite hobby, so is daydreaming!! One time during a finance class I had I daydreamed that I was a single mom who lived a walking distance from the beach and I had the job i'm going for in the medical field. I loved that daydream so much, would've preferred to have a partner ngl.
Thanks so much for reading, apologies for it being so long my mind is so rampant and i have so much to say and so much input to give that it kind of gets hard to put it in simple sentences. If you're similar to me please follow and moot me or wtv yall do on tumblr I love people with similar mindsets and aspirations it makes me wanna do better in order to keep up.
