Probably because it's being made mostly by one guy who started on Tiktok, I think for funsies, only then he got hit with his own case of divine madness (relatable), grabbed some friends, and he's just... making the entire freaking Odyssey into an entire freaking musical with them now. One album at a time. Mad respect and also respecting the madness. (And of course your playlist skews darker for them, I've read your work, this surprises me 0%. ;P )

Honestly? I think it would depend who did it and how much creative freedom they were given. Then again, it could be a musical, all that needs to happen for that is for people like you to keep making AMVs for it. Then your dreams would be reality! ;D

Ok, but 'My Goodbye' from the musical 'Epic' would be a peak dynamic for Oz and Salem. Give Ozma a few teeth while keeping his concept from the show.

I had never heard of this musical before?? But can confirm the song is a banger! And the Ozma/Salem vibes are strong (although my playlist for them tends a lot darker).

Sometimes I wish RWBY were a musical like this. Would that be weird? Or would it be epic? Can we get a musical episode at least? I can dream...

What are your favourite fics? Love your art btw!

My first ask, how exciting!

I’m gonna assume GF fics, so here are some BillDip fics that stood out to me:

Any works by tswwwit (BurnerAccount on AO3)! I reread ALL of their stuff every once in a while. @weirdeggi created a very comprehensive masterpost that I reference very often!

Tswwwit had a short whump fic that single-handedly convinced me to read that genre. Their Reverse Falls stuff is very good too! I wasn’t able to find any other Reverse Falls fics that captured the magic.

“Two in a Million” by Aevintyri

- I’m a sucker for fantasy, and this fic was quite creative with its premise!

“you, me, and that bitch we call destiny” by Goldilocked

- I lean very heavily towards fluff and this one is full of it. Not a traditional depiction of Bill Cipher but still very charming.

“Family” by ElektricAngel

- 1920s mafia! This was my first billdip fic after my friend swore it changed the chemistry of her brain at the time of its release. I wouldn’t put it in my favorites, but I have a soft spot for it since I love 1920s stories.

“persephone’s folly” by ssuppositiouss

- I adore Greek mythology, so combine it will billdip and you got yourself a deal! It’s a one shot though ;-;

(And honestly any of the fics with the top kudos on AO3, they’re all very good!)

I would love more recommendations though, I’ve only started this ship a few months ago!

Qrow goes searching for Oz when lunchtime arrives and his boyfriend doesn't make an appearance (and neither does Torchwick, though Neo goes flitting through with Weiss on their way from and to the training room in the basement).

ohhhh this is hard. some of my opinions on rwby ships are #problematic but like. idc rosegarden - 9/10 if ozpin wasnt there it would be a 10/10. i just really think its cute. also the children forced into the war when theyre waaay too young? angst potential rich farmers - i dont have a ranking for this one but like. i think its interesting lol cloqwork orange - i read a fic (my own worst enemy by elektricangel on ao3 go check it out) and holyyyy shit. its roman/ozpin/qrow. i am literally frothing at the mouth thinking abt it arkos - angst <3 hummingbird - i am a qrow is rubys dad truther. also i like goth x prep fair game - holyyyy shit. this one is also angst but its ALSO so good nuts and dolts - i think i just like angst ships rosebird - they explored each others bodies

now onto the ships i dont like. i am not ashamed of my tastes in ships. im not including the weird ones like an adult x child or incest bc. yk. that is common sense

bumbleby - its overrated and it sucks im sorry. i just cant imagine a world where its cool gelato - they are SIBLINGS your honor. also roman was an adult when neo was still in school if i remember roman holiday correctly. its honestly kinda weird literally any neo ship i think - in my heart shes aro <3 silent knight - STOP SHIPPING HER WITH JAUNE white knight - STOP SHIPPING HER WITH JAUNE white rose - its SO bland bro why do people ship it lancaster - they arent romantic they are close friends why does everyone see two close friends and ship them dude

If it's okay, I might end up doing the same thing (also a personal copy not to sell or hand out), because it's fantastic thus far and I'm pretty sure I'm also going to want a copy on my bookshelf. <3

Here to report that My Own Worst Enemy is /still/ on the second page of AO3 when sorted by kudos, a year since you made that post reporting that it was. Well done, you, nice staying power! But, possibly more impressive... it's on page one when you sort by comments. Just thought you might like to know. ;)

aaaAAA I hadn't even realized! I really need to go back again and answer more comments. I've fallen behind, which is a wonderful problem to have. I still can't believe how many people like my weird what-if, let alone how many people tell me how much they like it!

I've actually been going back through the whole series and editing so I can make a personal print copy. Won't be able to sell it of course, but I just think it'd be neat to have on my bookshelf, since it's the longest thing I've written. I'll definitely post pictures of it when it's done so people can see how big a book they read XD

In an absolutely wild twist, and for the sake of honesty... technically I'm not. Love a lot of the ideas and things (especially the early fights) in the first three seasons, never got past I think episode six of season one (twice (I did try)), have greatly enjoyed what I've seen of Chibi.

Like... I'm here because I crawled in through the garage window of hbomberguy's 'RWBY is Disappointing, Here's Why' video, watched a few more critiques, was unimpressed by what I heard about season four onwards, got reminded that Torchwick is so much fun, bumped into a cool idea, discovered that @elektricangel had written that idea very well in their The Divine Comedy duology, watched some AMVs, couldn't find much else focusing on Torchwick that really drew me, remembered the jack-o-lantern mythology I know, realized that, hey, all that actually fits really well with Torchwick, wrote a one shot around that involving him and Neo, went to make my escape back out the garage window, discovered that I'd accidentally lured @fullbattleregalia in here with me, who proceeded to buy and read Roman Holiday and also watch the first three seasons of RWBY and all of Chibi, and long story short the jack-o-lantern thing isn't a one-shot anymore and I've used a literal thirteen pens' worth of ink on the damn thing so far, along with a Word document containing 10k of notes for it, and I only started writing the danged thing July 23. The divine madness has consumed me, and canon dies and is reborn anew beneath my pen.

Which is to say, I'm here, I care deeply, I am writing sincerely, but also absolutely none of what I'm doing is in any way normal, but I'm not the one who left the garage window open for goblins like me to get in so really it's not my fault. >_>U

TL;DR: Yes, but only in the weirdest, most technical sense possible, because my ability to wander into a fandom and integrate without more than the absolute barest contact with the source material is second to none. Also, I cannot stress enough that I'm not here to ruin anyone's time or anything, I'm just Extremely Weird. I did a very similar thing with Scum Villain's Self-Saving System, and it's one of my favorite fandoms now. Watched a couple episodes of the donghua, never read any of the books, literally cannot get enough fanfics of these idiot men, hamster supremacy.

Also, love the Jack Zimmerman icon, very spiffy!
