Hi! Might be a silly question but on the topic of ecological consequences for eradicating "pest" species like ticks and mosquitoes, do we have similar concerns about controlling micro parasites? I'm assuming that parasite infra/supra communities play a role?

I'm assuming this means bacteria or viruses and not like, microscopic wasps. I don't know, microbiology isn't really within my field of interest so I haven't read any papers on it. If anyone else knows more about this feel free to chime in

I am never gonna have to throw away a perfectly good little plastic container ever again. Rizzo for size so the gum photo doesn’t post super huge. Anyway. for the record, these:

Big ass 35 stick packs of wrigley's gum are the absolute perfect size to be used as cassette tape cases after you chew all of the gum and take out the little paper/cardboard label. They’re slightly too large but not to an uncomfortable degree. Here’s the closest tape I could grab from my desk chair in a normal tape case (left) vs one of these plastic gum containers (right).

After I repair my Huey Lewis and the News tape which is missing a pressure pad, it’s ass is going straight to minty-fresh hell.

So, for the first time since about Covid-19 lockdowns in the US, I will be able to play the violin again.

I took about 6 years of lessons, but through various different circumstances I have been without an instrument or any way to play since 2020. In a few hours I'm going to pick up an electric violin from a local music shop, and I am so excited to play again that I think I'm going to vibrate out of my skin.

I know I'm going to be rusty as hell when I pick it up, and that electric violins play differently than acoustic violins, so I'm going to approach this new music journey as a beginner.

My question is, should I make some sort of video diary of my progress? I want to have an external motivator to make me practice and actually try and improve, but I'm also *extremely* nervous about putting my rusty basically-a-beginner-again skills out there.

Please let me know, oh dear tumblr mutuals, what you think.
