If it isn't close enough to plug into a wall outlet, then use an extension cord like this:
Tumblr media
Thick cord, single plug on either end.
That power strip at the top of this post? The cord was "probably" thick enough to handle it, but the strip isn't designed to take that much power through a single outlet. That's why the strip end is the part where it started burning, and not the cord itself.
So, use the thick boys if you have to, but it is best to plug straight into the wall outlet when possible.

Energy Efficient Electric Heaters: Embracing Cost Savings and Sustainability
Electrical heaters have become a popular choice for many households, providing warmth during cold winter months. However, the rising concern for energy efficiency and sustainability has led to the development of energy efficient electric heaters. In this article, we will explore the benefits of these innovative heating solutions and how they contribute to both cost savings and a greener future.
Understanding Energy Efficiency
Energy efficiency refers to the ability of a device to convert energy into useful heat with minimal waste. Energy efficient electric heaters incorporate advanced technologies that optimize energy consumption, resulting in significant cost savings for consumers. These heaters utilize less electricity to produce the same level of heat as traditional models, making them a smart choice for the environmentally conscious.
Benefits of Energy Efficient Electric Heaters
1. Reduced Energy Consumption
Energy efficient electric heaters are designed to use less energy without compromising on heating performance. By effectively converting electricity into heat, these heaters minimize energy waste, allowing homeowners to reduce their overall energy consumption. This not only translates to lower utility bills but also contributes to a more sustainable future by reducing carbon emissions.
2. Cost Savings
The reduced energy consumption of energy efficient Electrical heaters directly translates into cost savings for homeowners. With lower electricity bills, households can allocate their saved resources to other necessities or even invest in additional energy-efficient appliances. The long-term savings offered by these heaters make them a wise investment for any budget-conscious individual.
3. Environmental Friendliness
Energy efficient electric heaters play a crucial role in promoting environmental sustainability. By consuming less electricity, they significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help combat climate change. Choosing these heaters also contributes to a greener future, aligning with global efforts to transition to cleaner energy sources and reduce carbon footprints.
4. Enhanced Safety Features
Many energy efficient electric heaters are equipped with advanced safety features. These include overheat protection, automatic shut-off mechanisms, and cool-to-touch surfaces. These safety measures ensure peace of mind for homeowners, reducing the risk of accidents and providing a comfortable and worry-free heating experience.
Choosing the Right Energy Efficient Electric Heater
When selecting an energy efficient electric heater, there are several factors to consider:
1. Heating Capacity
Consider the size of the room or area you intend to heat and ensure that the heater has the appropriate heating capacity. A heater with insufficient capacity may not effectively warm the space, while an oversized heater may consume unnecessary energy.
2. Thermostat Controls
Look for heaters with adjustable thermostat controls that allow you to maintain a comfortable temperature. This feature ensures efficient energy usage and prevents unnecessary energy consumption.
3. Energy Efficiency Ratings
Check for energy efficiency ratings such as Energy Star certification. These labels indicate that the heater meets or exceeds specific efficiency standards, ensuring optimal energy usage.
4. Additional Features
Consider additional features such as programmable timers, remote control operation, and eco-mode settings. These features offer convenience and further enhance energy efficiency.
Conclusion
Energy efficient Electrical heaters offer a compelling solution for those seeking both cost savings and a reduced environmental impact. By utilizing advanced technologies and optimizing energy consumption, these heaters provide efficient and effective warmth while promoting sustainability. With their numerous benefits, energy efficient electric heaters are a smart choice for any household looking to embrace a greener and more cost-effective approach to heating. Invest in one today and experience the comfort and advantages they offer.

Buying Guide for Electric Heaters: Make the Right Choice
Buying Guide for Electric Heaters: Make the Right Choice
Electric Heater has been used as a source of heat in homes as well as industries for decades. These electric heating devices use electrical energy as an input source of power and transform it into thermal energy to heat the air or things in a specific space. All electric heaters use one or more of the three basic heat transmission mechanisms: convection, conduction, or radiation. Electric Heater…

okay, look. I can put up with my mic getting turned off when my mini fridge runs. I can even deal with my controller turning off when I plug in a space heater, or my computer monitor turning to static whenever I stand up from my desk (even though I don't really understand it).
but what I cannot put up with, is the fact that when my mini fridge turned off just now, my firefox color scheme reset, which is something that has never happened before
what the fuck is wrong with my wiring?

man living in the countryside can suck because you're not a priority when it comes to disasters. my family had to live in a no heat, no electricity, no hot water house for two months when i was kid not because we couldn't pay the bills but because an electric line went down during a snow storm on our street and we weren't important enough to get it fixed in a timely manner.

Chuck Edwards says we're down to the last 36,000 people in the state without power, and IIIII'm one of them!
got a generator though, and even after only 1 evening it is a delight to be able to look at pantry shelves with the light on. I can't imagine how nice it is for Hyacinth.
The power company has gotten power to 1,000 more people in the last 4.5 hours. This does not include my general area :D
