"Lost" RPGmaker game adopt that I had a lot of fun making :D!
Posted to my TOYHOUSE!
Fake "lost lore" under the cut!
Not sure if anyone will actually know what game I'm talking about since I feel like it's super obscure?? but I just remembered it while watching an rpgmaker iceberg  Â
It was a game that you could find on one of those sites similar to jayisgames (??) where people would create posts "reviewing" or giving a quick summary of the game and at the bottom there would be either a download link or a button you could click to play the game in browser depending on the game. I remember having to download this one and watching a youtube tutorial (how to open game files) bc this was literally like in the early 2000s when I barely knew how to do anything involving downloads lol. After you download the game icon pops up on your computer. The icon for this game would be a dog wearing a gasmask with a bright red flower in it's mouth (its kind of hard to tell that its a dog unless you have actually gone through and played the game, because the gasmask dog is one of the "enemies" you combat while playing) Theres no title under the icon, I think it was literally just the star ( * ) symbol but I guess its supposed to be seen as a flower? There isn't an opening sequence, or at least not one that I can remember super well? Maybe I always just held skip and so now I dont really remember the opening scene. Everything in the first room you're in kind of has like a dark grey brick texture. Almost like it was made with default brick texture in rpgmaker just with the hue slide around to kind of represent other textures? Like tables/chairs/dressers/things on the wall would be the same exact brick texture just color changed to be brown. They dont stay like this for the entire game, its just in the first room. All the other rooms in this game are super surreal but very gothic? Like weird stained glass and iron gate type things. Theres lots of "framed" pictures on the walls when you walk through what are hallways. I remember thinking that the game was set in something similar to the reptile room from the "A series of unfortunate events" movie with jim carrey, just with the lights turned off or something. SUPER dark. You can collect pictures off the walls and use them as weapons, sort of. But it's better to just use the fireplace poker you can get from the room you start in. There are fireplaces in a bunch of other rooms and you can re-put your firepoke into it to make a better weapon. If you don't pick up this item I guess you work towards a good ending? edit; my fake lore was too long you can read the rest on the adopt page sorryyy

what's your wildest clown theory right now? ;)
What qualifies as 'wild'? đ
If you mean, what theory keeps my brain twisting in knots the most, then it's the current possibility of 1989tv being some sort of double album drop. With the constant colour alternation of blue and black recently, I know most people assume it's reputation. And that would be the most obvious conclusion, but I have so many more questions, it literally keeps me up at night.
Like, why the heck is 1989 on this wall twice, once in white and once in black??
The only other thing that's on there twice is obviously Karma, and notably also in two different colours. One of them being orange, the very same colour that Taylor randomly changed her lover nail on tour to:
March to June: pink July-August: orange âŹ
You can't tell me she just ran out of pink nail polish, everything is for a reason with this woman, especially when she's meticulously painted her nails the eras colours for EVERY single show, except 7/7 when they were all purple for Speak Now tv release. WHY TAYLOR??
Reputation on the wall also has the number 2024 in it, so if it was coming as a double drop before the end of the year, was that just a red herring? It would also break the 112 day pattern... so while I see all the rep hints and snakes, I think something is off with it just being reputation sooner than we think.
But if we think back to when this Karma album theory started, it was right in between 1989 and reputation era. The big supposed hint was the TS6 plane in the LWYMMD mv that gets grounded and then spray painted to be reputation instead. So, if anything, Karma was going to be some form of TS6, so why the hell did she change her 7th finger to orange and not the 6th one?? I really have no idea, but it brings me to my other big rumination of this year, which is the visuals from the Eras tour, and there is one other overlap of that karma origin era of 2016 with the lover era and that is when she burns the lover house during the 1989 set. I did a whole theory post on it, but basically, the lover house gets a bit charred during the lover set, and then she brings it back hours later during the final song of the 1989 set to be completely obliterated by blue flames. BUT, while the house burns with blue flames first, it then suddenly changes to red/orange fire before it collapses:
So the most iconic thing to come out of the Lover era gets destroyed by 1989...The blue flames were definitely a choice. But then why not just let it burn down in blue flames? The colour change is also a choice. The final death of the lover house is orange...whatever that means. But it does somewhat support the double drop theory: 1989 (blue) unexpectedly changes to orange. So could the double album be 1989 and karma? Tbh, I don't think karma was ever a full 'lost' album. We got reputation only a year later, that wouldn't have been enough time to write a whole new album, so I think some of these songs are actually on reputation, in one form or another. I've often joked with a friend that karma is just reputation but with all female pronouns to make our Karlie stan album what it deserves to be đđ (for the record, I don't think that's it either but it wouldn't surprise me if Taylor tried to put some of these songs out with female pronouns and was told no. There's a reason that the last ever song she recorded with Big Machine was getaway car...And fun fact: the first ever song released under her new label was what? ME! out now, on...you guessed it, Lesbian Visibility Day đ).
I know we now have a song called karma and believe me, that little giggle when she announced that song title in MMWM will haunt me forever, that woman is enjoying playing with us! So do I think the karma album theory is dead? Not sure, but maybe we will get some more of those songs as vault tracks on 1989 and rep tv, that was, after all, the time they originated from. Or, if I'm totally wrong with all of this, we may get a 1989/rep tv double drop after all and karma will be TS11, just like karma is track 11 on midnights. Who knows...? What I am excited about is that we're now crossing over to the left side of the Man wall and that's certainly looking juicy. Can't wait for rep tv, whenever it's coming. The reality of a new cover makes me nervous though and I think given the lore around the rep cover, it would make sense if she just dropped it without announcing it two months in advance. It would mirror the OG rep release and also avoid giving us two months to dissect the new cover to find which one of Karlie's body parts she has 'borrowed' this time, because she must be aware that that's what people will be looking for as soon as the cover art drops. So 1989, rep, karma, I think all is on the table, and luckily we won't have to wait that much longer to find out. đ¤

So I was poking around through my followers list and I noticed that there are a few of you who have no title, no profile picture, no custom site and no bio who do have enough likes to make me think you might be a real person and not a bot. If you are indeed a real person, please read this post.
If I click on you and your blog looks like this:
you look like a bot, yes even if you have a substantial amount of likes.
It is very easy to make yourself look human, and because I'm feeling helpful and chatty today, I'm going to show you how to do that, with screenshots. I even went on this site in safari where I don't have dashboardunfucker set up to take these screenshots, so you know I'm feeling good today.
Step 1:
In your sidebar go to "account" highlighted in blue below:
Step 2:
Select your blog in the drop down. (There are a bunch of blogs on mine because I have multiple junk side blogs.) For the purpose of this exercise I made a brand new blank one called imtotallyabot56789.
Step 3:
Go to "blog settings" in the right hand sidebar. This will take you to a new page.
Step 4:
On that new page, select "edit appearance".
Step 5:
Get to editing! I've highlighted for you the 4 most important things you need to change to not be a bot.
Those things are:
your icon
your header
your title & bio
you banner/bio colors
Some notes:
Your banner can be a .gif, a .png or a .jpg. It is best at a 16:9 ratio. I can't remember how big mine was, but a little bit bigger is better so that it displays decently on desktop and on mobile.
Your icon/profile picture should be a square. I think it displays at 128x128, but I don't know for sure. Use a bigger image than that though. Mine is apparently 886x886 at 72 ppi. Don't pick a photo of yourself unless there's something interesting about it (ie: you're in cosplay or something) because a regularass photo of a person looks like a bot as well. If you don't know what to pick, you can head over to picrew and use an icon generator there to create an icon. There are a lot of fun options. If you want to design your own and don't have photoshop or something like that, check out photopea which is an in browser photoshop clone. Have fun with this -- pick a character you like or a pretty image. Like whatever you want just don't stick with the default one. Use either a jpg or a png.
Your title doesn't have to be that deep. Or descriptive. A lot of people use lines from books, music, poetry, tv or movies for theirs. Mine is related to Elizabeth Warren ("Nevertheless She Persisted"). I've previously used "Death Cannot Stop True Love" and "This could be a little more sonic"
Your bio also doesn't have to be long or, like describe anything super detailed about you. The beauty of tumblr dot hell is that it is one of the more anonymous social media sites out on the internet. You could literally just put something like "Fandom Lurker". Just have something.
The banner/bio colors just change the color of the border around your header image/icon "background" and the accent color.
Step 6:
Some additional basic (optional) things to do:
Enable "Custom Theme". This gives you an actual website rather than the dumb little tumblr dot com/blog/yourblognamehere thing that you get by default. The advantages to having an actual yourblognamehere dot tumblr dot com website are numerous. I made a whole post about that with instructions on how to do that. (note that the screenshots in that post were made before the tumblr layout change that was tumblr staff copying twitter's homework). A big benefit to having your own site is that it is easier to find tagged posts on a site because the default search that tumblr has on the /blog/yourblognamehere thing is hot flaming garbage and pulls posts that don't have that tag whilst also missing ones that do. with a yourblognamehere dot tumblr dot com site you can simply go to yourblognamehere(dot)tumblr(dot)com/tagged/mycooltag and see all the tagged posts. Dooo this. you know you want to doooo this.
2. Open your ask box and turn off tumblr affiliate links. Asks can be fun. They can also be terrible. You can always turn them off later if you decide that people are being mean to you. Personally I have not had that problem in the 12 years I've been here. Maybe it's just the relative obscurity of this blog? who knows. glad for that though.
3. Add some featured tags.
This is a newer setting but I think it's fun. If you make posts (or reblog lots of posts) you can add a few tags that you use very often to this as little shortcuts for people visiting your blog.
Whew! That's all for today folks! Thanks for coming to my tumblr how to for newbies talk. I'll probably post another tumblr for newbies chat at some point.
with love and light,
đ your local internet crazy lady slash tumblr oldtimer
Be kind to yourself and someone else today!

heres a transcript of that gina & greg interview i mentioned yesterday. literally nothing new is in this, but theres a lot of info in this that was scattered in varying interviews/podcasts and i like having all of it in one place for future reference purposes
(link to vid)
Patrick: Hey everybody, this is Patrick Cavanaugh from comicbook.com here to bring you a very special conversation about Netflix's The Old Guard, which just debuted last week, and everybody has seen it-- I believe people have seen it by now, so that's very exciting. And to dive deep into this film, we're actually very lucky to have the film's director Gina Prince-Bythewood, who also directed Love And Basketball and Beyond The Lights here. Hello, Gina.
Gina: Hey.
P: And we're also joined by the film's writer, as well as the writer of the original comic book series, The Old Guard. Also, you might know him from his DC Comics work, Batwoman, and Lazarus, to name a few of his titles. We have Greg Rucka! Hello, Greg.
Greg: Hello!
P: So this film just first debuted last week, and I know you guys have been inundated with fans, just loving it. And let's just get to what fans want to know, right off the bat; I'm sure you're getting daily questions about this because there's so much for an expanded universe. So let's set the record straight: will there be a Tiger King crossover?
[everyone laughs]
Greg: Uh, we're planning an animated series with giant Mech suits, and, unbeknownst to a certain franchise, we're going to crossover with Transformers and-- no. Come on. [laughs]
P: Okay, alright, weâll hold onto that big crossover stuff. And I know Netflix, of course, hasnât fully announced what the future might be for Old Guard, but I'm just kind of curious if you guys have had any recent conversations about what you'd like to do in the futureâtheoretical, nothing concrete, of course. But since the film has come out and you've seen fan feedbackâŚ?
Gina: I will just say, obviously, it's an incredible compliment that people want to see more. It means we did our job in this. It was very important that this film has a beginning middle and end. We wanted to focus on this.
Greg: Yeah.
Gina: And get it right. Having people want more is an incredible gift and I would say those conversations were really⌠Greg and I, early on in talking through the story... knowing Greg knows where this thing goes --and it's pretty incredible-- helped me in terms of directing this one. So I will say we've had those conversations early on.
Greg: Yeah Ginaâs absolutely right. One of the things that I'm really-- one of the many things I am proud of is that the movie is a whole, you certainly leave it going âokay, there could be more, I can see how there is moreâ. But it is a complete work. It is not contingent and does not need anything else. That said, there were plenty of times we were having conversations and would jokingly be like, âoh that'll be in the next one, we'll do that in the next one. We had to cut this so weâll put it in the next oneâ.
P: I'm sure people would be very thrilled, as would I. So weâll try to remain patient since it's only been out a week--
Greg: I think that's reasonable.
P: [sarcastic] I mean, fans are nothing but reasonable--
Greg: [very loud laughter] You know what 'fan' is short for right? Fanatic.
P: [laughs] So Greg, I'm curious. You know, since this is a pretty unique situation where you wrote the original books but then also came to write the script-- which doesn't always happen all that often. I was kind of curious what that process was like and if, when revisiting that core story, if you were tempted to kind of go off into a new directions, you know, uncharted territory? And how you managed to stay faithful to that story.
Greg: So when Skydance initially acquired The Old Guard, Matt Grimm and Don Granger were the guys that I was working with. And they were very clear that they had acquired it because they loved the source material. So when I was doing the adaptation, it was âadapt this story to be told in a screen format, there are changes that have to be madeâ. I didn't see it so much as like âI can go in a different direction!â as âit's a really rare opportunity to have a second bite at the appleâ. Most writers don't get to tell the same story twice. And even with the collaborative nature of comics, making a movie is far more collaborative. So⌠being able to benefit from a lot of very smart people-- and then when Gina came aboard, and working very closely with her on the screenplay, you know, taking her notes, and talking at length about it was⌠I mean, I love the comic we made, I'm very proud of it. But I think this is a superior story. Because it allowed me to fix mistakes I had made. And I think that it certainly works as the film that we wanted it to be, but it has a lot more nuance and a lot more âshadingâ than the comics ever could have had. So yeah, I mean, I'm very proud of the work we've done.
P: Yeah, as you should be, definitely agree with that. And I know, Gina, you've spoken about how you treated the source material essentially as a Bible as the blueprint for adapting the movie. So a question kind of for both of you, I was curious what scene or sequence were you most excited to bring to life? And then what scene were you most apprehensive about whether or not you could pull it off as faithful to that original?
Gina: For me, I mean, there was there were certainly a couple... Joe and Nicky in the van.
Greg: [nodding] Yeah.
Gina: Such a beautiful moment in the comic. And I wanted to get it right. I knew the actors really wanted to get it right. As soon as we started shooting, I was like, 'oh yeah, they're killing it'. Also Booker in the mine, the speech that he gives to Nile, it's everything to his character. It explains both Booker and Andy; where they are, and why they are the way that they are in that moment of time. And I know that as a director, I saw a perfect take. But going into those, you hope that, âam I able to evoke what I need to evoke in the audience?â I think that the hardest really was the Kill Floor, given how iconic it is in the comic. It's just so beautifully drawn by Leandro, it pops off the page. So âhow am I going to be able to do the same thing on film?â But it really kind of boiled down to âwhat is the story [of the scene]â and really focus on that first, but also wanting to really give a bit of a homage to what Leandro did too, which was my use of silhouette throughout it.
Greg: Yeah, I think that⌠Gina just listed all of the scenes. I mean, I wanted to see the armored car, that was enormously rewarding for me⌠I couldn't wait to see the killing room floor... You know, when we talk about moments of adaptation, I actually âand I thought this was really well handled in the movie in particularâ Nileâs death wasn't wasn't easy in the comic, because it needed to have heart. You know, Kiki's performance and the way it's shot is just, it's phenomenal.
P: And obviously you can't really talk about this movie, which is this big action-fantasy movie, without talking about that scene between Joe and Nicky. I'm curious what both of your reactions have been to seeing that moment hit so hard with so many fans.
Greg: I'm overjoyed that we're able to give that to so many people. I am also frustrated that it's so overdue. While I don't think that either Gina or I felt that this was⌠It was important and special because it was important and special between these characters. But, you know, I mean Iâm in that place where I recognize why we are getting the response that we are, and, I'm frustrated by the fact that it's 2020. And⌠apparently we're the first people to have done this? And you can say that about a lot of the reactions, you can say that about the reactions to Kiki's Nile. You can say that about reactions about Charlize portraying Andy. Thereâs a piece of me that's like âguys, we didn't invent the wheel here. All we did was show you, THEREâS A WHEEL HERE!â. So.
P: Yeah, it's interesting and it is frustrating that it is 2020 and we have to refer to this as an anomaly. That this is not the norm, that as you said, this is we're showing people that the wheel exists. And so Gina, you know, between having a film with two powered, seemingly super-powered characters, in a comic book adaptation, which is largely been devoid of such characters. [I think he meant to say female powered characters?] and being a black woman, directing a comic book adaptationâ again, something in 2020 that we have to treat as a shocking revelationâ I was curious, if you felt any sort of pressure about that on set, or if it was like just a confidence in the material, and support from your collaborators, that it wasn't even an issue?
Gina: Um, are you talking about the scene-?
P: Just the project as a whole.
Gina: There was a reason I took this film, because it moved me. It has to start there. There's all these things; I love putting a black female in the world, I love putting Nicky and Joe in the world, I love putting Joeâs character in the world. Those are all such incredible driving forces. But foremost, I have to feel and care about the characters in the story. And I did. And so, for me, it felt... I mean I was honored to be able to be the one to give these characters a life up on screen... or in that big screen in your living room. There's, of course, enormous pressure. Not only just doing a film, like the bigness of it. Certainly me being a woman, me being a black woman, and doing this when nobody has done it before⌠It's about proving myself and proving that women like me can do this, that we do like action, that we can shoot action⌠Just changing that narrative. So there's pressure to get it right and do a good job, but I feed off of that. It made me work harder because I felt like I absolutely had a responsibility to get it right.
P: And we've talked about Kiki a few times as Nile, of course. And Gina, I know you said it was within five seconds of meeting her that you knew she was the right one to play Nile. I was curious, how did the rest of the casting process go? Did everybody get hired that easily? Or was it a harder search to round out the ensemble?
Greg: Yes. Iâm curious too!
Gina: You know, I knew going into this that I wanted great actors for every role and it's pretty amazing how many of my first choices are in this film. I mean Matthias Schoenaerts who plays Booker is an incredible actor and I knew I wanted him from the get-go. We were told he doesn't do films like this, but he wanted to meet, which was the first thing, like, âoh my gosh itâs on me, don't blow this meetingâ and he said again to my face, âI don't do these movies, but I love this movieâ and he loved the character Booker. And after that conversation and hearing my vision, he was in, which was amazing. Marwan Kenzari, I saw him in this independent film called Wolfâ
Greg: Yeahhhhhh.
Gina: Phenomenal. And he was supposed to read for the part. We had a meeting over FaceTime. Then, Zoom was not what it is now. And it was such an incredible meeting. He was so passionate about the material. So passionate about the character Joe. So passionate about wanting to give that speech. His energy⌠I just said 'you don't need to read, like, you're Joe'. Luca Marinelli, who plays Nicky, I saw his audition. He has this depth to him, those eyes.. where you just, you felt everything, you felt his soul. But I needed to do a chemistry reading, as I would with any love story. And so, we flew him in to read with Marwan. They did this incredible improv, and it was so obvious that these two were Joe and Nicky. It was a really beautiful moment as a director to just⌠know, and I was so excited to show everybody what they had. It leapt off the screen, their connection; theyâd never met before but, immediate connection. Chiwetel Ejiofor, I mean⌠[awed silence]
Greg: Chiwetel... yeah.
Gina: Yeah. To hear that he wanted to be in this and work with me on this, I didn't need anything else at that point. He's truly a genius. Charlize, you know, there are very few women who can work in the space and we believe them. And that's the thing about her work, and her action, we believe her. And we needed that for Andy. And of course she's a great actress, so it was, you know, that was kind of a no-brainer. So, lastly Harry Melling, you know our villain. It's funny, Don Granger, at Skydance, says you've done a good job with your villain if the audience wants to punch him in the face. Harry brought that reality of those templates of Mark Zuckerberg and Martin Shkreli and really rocked it.
Greg: I had, you know, I'm the screenwriter, right? And I am pretty much involved in the production at the directorâs sufferance, and Gina was so gracious to want me present-- and more than that, want me present and say things, right? As opposed to âstand here and be quietâ, but I remember when Kiki⌠when they knew they wanted Kiki, like in that window before all the paperwork was done and so on. Throughout most of the casting I wasn't hearing a lot from Gina, just the occasional update. Like âI think we've gotâŚâ and then the Kiki audition came in, and Gina, you called me, Granger texted me, Grimm texted me. And it was all the same thing. It was all âwe have found Nile, oh my god, there were these two scenes and she had us howling in one and weeping in the other and she is perfectâ. And the exuberant joy, you know, I remember you on that call being like âNO, THIS IS HER!!â. It's like, this is gonna be awesome.
P: So, and to open things up a little bit more to the actual mythology of the film and the comic book series, I think one of the coolest things is that this film doesn't entirely explore is why these characters come back to life? But we also don't entirely need to know that to just⌠witness this slice of time in their journey. So I'm kind of curious, maybe Greg you have more insight on this, but I'm curious if either of you have those ideas in your head of what the root of this, you know, blessing or curse, the curse of immortality? Or is that just stuff that's entirely irrelevant to this journey?
Greg: I think it's irrelevant⌠to the journey of the first film. That the story is a self-contained story and you don't need to know why they are immortal. And I think that the film actually does tell you, not specifically, but the film does provide you with enough information to allow you to draw certain conclusions. Because there are really a limited number of ways that they're going to get this way, right? We do not, for instance, see Nile fall into a vat of regeneration juice, right? That's not why Nile comes back. There is a mythology. We know the mythology. We know the why and that's for later. Yes, maybe it will become relevant to the story, but for this story that was told as it was told? No, you don't need to know why.
Gina: The striking thing, when I read the script for the first time was I didn't⌠I didn't care. Like, I didn't need it. And that surprised me because I know Greg had talked about another company who was interested in the project [Gina doesnât say, but it was Sony lmao] kept asking âyou have to tell us why though, in this story, an audience needs to know whyâ. He was absolutely right [for disagreeing with Sony]. Because I didn't need to know why.
Greg: It's the Rian Johnson School of, you know, it's Looper. âWe can spend two hours talking about time travel or you can accept that we're in time travel. Which is it going to be?â And I think that that is one of the most brilliant storytelling decisions made in the last 20 years in film! Literally 'here it isâDOESNâT MATTER, MOVING ON!â you know.
P: Yeah. It's definitely a bold direction to take. And to have an issue with 'oh, well, we never learn [about the] immortality!' proves that you just miss the point of what the movie is, and that that stuff is kind of irrelevant for right now. Although I do kind of hope that because it's on Netflix someone's expecting like a post credit scene, but it's the autoplay feature, right? [Greg and Patrick talk over eachother, laughing]
Greg: We did talk about that button as a post-credit scene, the Booker [scene]â
Gina: That was originally supposed to be a tag.
Greg: And there was, for a while, the contemplation of âmaybe we can still [put the Booker scene in as a post-credit scene] and really that'll be like a great big reward for those people who actually watch credits on Netflix. Itâs like, you got a bonus scene!â
P: So another, you know, people are loving the characters, they're loving the performances, but also the action is so cool in it, and it feels reminiscent of some other films. But the urgency and efficiency of all of the action sequences always feel like they have a point, and they're not just âlook what we can pull off this week!â You know, it's not John Wick on a horse fighting motorcycles because we don't need to do that. It's, you know, always to a point. So I'm kind of curious Greg, what does an action scene look like in your script? And then Gina, what was your whole motivation for putting these action scenes together?
Greg: I had two approaches in this script and used both. Sometimes I would write the sequence as you know, as a series-- this is what is happening, âhe swings and then his head goes flyingâ or whatnot. But knowing very well that unless the script needed to see-- because the script has to specify what is a must. It's a must. It's a must document. âWe must see thisâ. âWe must know this informationâ. So for a lot of the time, I would sort of drop into a narrative voice and say, âokay, now we watch the five of them proceeded to kick every ass and take every name that they come across and please bear in mind you are watching over 10,000 years of combat experience, combined between themâ. And then that's the description of an action sequence, right? The screenplay⌠it's a construction document. It's not the interior decoratorâs document. It's not even the Foreman's document. It's an architectural document. And then you give it to the Foreman of the whole production, who then goes, âI agree, these are the important thingsâ, and then you get out of their way and watch them do the thing that they have, you know, become an expert at doing to make it happen.
P: Gina, what's your reaction when you read Gregâs script saying, âoh, you know, just five immortal warriors demonstrating 10,000 years of combat experienceâ?
Gina: It's like âoh shitâ. [everyone laughs] Like that's a very cool thing to readâ
Greg: But how do you film it?
Gina: Yeah, exactly! Then you start at the beginning of the scene and 'what character can we reveal in the scene'? And when you start like that, it's less overwhelming. Because the best action sequences for me, when I go to the movies, are those that have a story to them and that are character driven, that have an emotion. So I really started there in the vision of what they should be and just working with my incredible, incredible stunt team, Jeff Habberstad and Danny Hernandez and Bryson Counts[? I dont know who that is]. Designing these fights to tell this story, to showcase this part of character, to further the story. And that was important as well, that we never wanted this film to feel like⌠rushing through the story to get to each action sequence. All of this works seamlessly. The quiet moments are just as important as the action moments. And so that was exciting to me. But being able to tell the story, reveal character, that was fun. And then it's âyeah, how do we choreograph so it feels as if these characters finish each other sentences, so to speak, in terms of action, knowing where the other is going to be, knowing when somebody's out of bullets and need another clip?' Like all those things, the way that they're always picking up used guns and used clips, just this dance. And it was very cool, you know, to really put that together and see what the team came up with. And then to see the actors embody that, bring character, bring performance to that. Which is why it was so great that I had the actual actors doing most of the work, so that we can see that performance.
Greg: I think you used a word that I think clearly came from what Ginaâs describing and talking about with working with Danny and Jeff and Bryson. Which is 'efficient'. Like, if you watch the film, you will see that there is only one sequence where Andy is ever firing more than twice, and it is on the killing room floor. After that, whenever she fires a gun, it's one bullet. It goes exactly where she wants it to go. Everything she does becomes an issue of âher style is efficiencyââ
Gina: Yeah, that was a bigââbrutal efficiencyâ is a term we talked about often, where they know a kill shot. They are not the type that are going to go in an environment and spray. It's lazy and not who they are. They are not going to ever hit someone by accident. They are too good. And their moral code is not like an ordinary For Hire who are just trying to get the target by any means necessary.
P: Yeah, and also speaking to what I feel set these action sequences apart from other action films is, we're used to, you know, like thumping techno or hard rock or something kick in. You know, I don't think anyone had like, you know, Frank Ocean being in an action film on Netflix on their 2020 Bingo cards. So I'm just kind of curious how you put that soundtrack together and what that process was like.
Gina: Yeah. I love music so much. It's so much a part of me as an artist. And for me, I love songs for scores, songs that can evoke an emotion, and elevate a scene or the emotion of a scene without taking it over. And music for this film was so important, to the tone. It was such a balance. This is a violent film, yet I never wanted it to feel like a celebration of violence. The fact that there was a cost to the killing and then motion to the killing. So always wanted to keep that in mind-- and music really helped with that. There's also a thing of, you know, I'm the first audience and I actually don't like heavy metal. So, it annoys me when I watch a movie and it's this non-stop thump. In the rectory âspoiler alertâ when Andy kills 19 people, the music I chose was important because it took away the sting of that. I didn't want an audience to revel in âoh my God, she killed 19 peopleâ. No, it was âshe killed 19 people and you see on her face that this was not fun, this was not easyâ. You see that on Nileâs face when she walks out, and the music helped that. I wanted the music to feel operatic, because what happened in that room did have that depth of emotion, so music againâ so important for vibe and tone and it was fun to find these songs that could do exactly what I wanted them to do.
P: Greg, the narrative is definitely very faithful to the first two Old Guard series and, you know, blends together in this compelling and unique way⌠Just as a âyou know, we are comicbook.comâ so coming from the purest sense of interpreting the narrative... [Greg laughs] like there's definitely the flashback with Achilles from the comic book, and then also the flashback to Booker's hanging scene. Those are our absent from the film. And I was just curious if those were ever in the script or if you want to rework them for the futureâŚ?
Greg: No, I mean we also had, in the original series, the flashback that sort of accounts the Joe and Nicky, âwe killed each otherâ, âmany timesâ sequence as well. There were drafts where all of that was there. And sometimes in greater detail than others. There was a version where that hospital sceneâ [in the movie] you get just the right amount of⌠when Booker's relaying it to Nile in the mine. But, you know, there was more to that, and you can see sort of Achilles' storyâs presence in the mine, right? There's a glimpse of the painting. So those things weren't erased as much as⌠when you make a comic, every choice you are making is an efficiency choice. âYou have X many pages, how are you going to spend them?â And I'm not a filmmaker. I'm the guy who wrote the thing. But one of the things I can tell you when watching is that it's the same calculus but exponentially. It isâ every single thing you are doing is asking if it's serving your narrative. And I think the trade âbecause it is a tradeâ of the Achilles backstory to build the Quynh story has a benefit that the Achilles story alone didn't have, in that the Quynh story âespecially as it's relayed in the movieâ not only does it illuminate Joe, Nicky, Booker, and of course Andy, but it's also Illuminating to Nile, in a way that⌠talking about Achilles would have been repeating a beat. Because as beautiful, and as important, Achilles is to Andy's character⌠Booker conveys that heartbreak with his story, right? So it becomes an efficiency question as much as anything else. I mean, that that's really what it comes down to.
P: Speaking to some of the changes again, I don't want to get to spoiler heavy but there's definitely a big change with one character and their possible fate. Don't want to ruin anything for anyone, so trying to play it safe.
Greg: [laughing] Yeah, how are we supposed to answer this, Patrick?
P: Why don't we just text each other? [everyone laughs] Well, I'm kind of curious. One character's trajectory has changed a little bit. What were the discussions like over, you know, altering their trajectory and what that could mean, you know, for their future adventures?
Greg: Well, how do we talk around this?
P: Also, if anyone's been watching this for 40 minutes and hasn't seen the movie, they've got to adjust their priorities.
Gina: I would say, it was about adding more jeopardy and stakes. It absolutely did that. What I love so much about the story and what Greg created is that these characters are mostly immortal. So there is always that threat. But it just added another level to that. But it also crystallized so well⌠the fact that the moment that Andy is truly saying âI'm doneâ a new Immortal shows up in Nile. So it just seemed to work really well and, you know, obviously having Greg be so on board with that and take it and run with it was really important.
Greg: It externalizes the conflict beautifully. And I believe I think David Ellison at Skydance likes the term downward pressure, I believe. [Gina smiles, Greg sees] Did you hear that? Did you hear that during editing? [Gina nods] But it does. Look, here's a fundamental problem; it's actually one of the problems at the heart of Force Multiplied: what's jeopardy to an immortal? Cuz it's kind of, you know, as Joe says, âwhat are you gonna do, tough guy? Kill me?â You know, âif I go, I go. I don't know when I'm goingâ. So you you need to be able to inject into the story some level of jeopardy. You want to heighten the stakes. And it also externalizes that particular characterâs conflict.
P: Gina, hopefully I don't put you too much on the spot with this question. But, you know, any time there's a big comic book project announced its, you know, fans start saying, oh, I'd love this person who's done action movies to do itâ or âthis person whoâs already done 10 Sci-Fi moviesâŚâ, you know, like Taika Waititi can't direct every movie.
Gina: I would love him to!
P: I'm just actually kind of curious, Gina, if there are any directors that you're particularly a fan of who don't necessarily have the same, you know, Marvel DC, Star Wars experience that that you'd love to hear get announced as tackling, you know, a big budget comic book movie.
Greg: I would like to know too.
Gina: Certainly, I'm excited about what Victoria Mahoney's going to be doing-- she just did second unit [director] on Star Wars, first woman to ever do that. I dig her brain so much and her aesthetic. I'm really excited to see what she's going to do in the action space, certainly.
P: Yeah, very cool. Really looking forward to her career for sure. And I think we're just about out of time here. We were downâ
Gina: [raising her hand] Can I ask a question real quick? Sorry, I just need a definitive answer on this because I got called out on Twitter and I asked Greg--
Greg: [laughing] Ohhhhhhhâ
Gina: So is Old Guard, is it a graphic novel? Or is it a comic?
Greg: You got to answer that Patrick.
P: Oh boy.
Greg: [laughing] Literally he's watching all credibility start to evaporate if he doesn't get this right. [holding up a comic of Opening Fire] This is a what?
P: I mean⌠part of me, knowing that it is part one of a three-part overall series⌠You know, my brain goes to âtrade paperbackâ, you know, like it's a volume collecting a certain amount of issues. But if you ask me before volume 2 came out, it would be collected as a graphic novel, but⌠they're all comic books. They're all just comic books, everybody. Let's just take it easy.
Gina: Okay, thank you.
P: That's my answer.
Greg: Thank you. Thank you. I think that is the appropriate answer.
P: They're all just comic books. Take it easy.
P: Yeah, but I am curious. Of course, one of the interesting things about the film is that over the course of hundreds⌠thousands of years, these characters, the old guard have kind of influenced humanity in some definitely interesting ways⌠And ultimately for good, is a little bit of what we're seeing in the film. And I can't help but wonder⌠is it possible that the old guard could have unintentionally influenced the world for bad? And have some negative ripples come from their actions, or do I have to wait for a sequel for that?
Greg: I think that is a very reasonable and logical question to ask, especially when you know, there are 19 dead bodies lying in a church. You know what I mean? There is a certain amountâ and it's almost fatuous to talk about it but there is always the doctrine of unintended consequences. I will say this goes to something elseâ and I'll say it really quickly because I know we're running out of time. I think one of the things that I really, really loved about what's being said, in the movie, is that at the end of the film⌠The definitive statement is, if you take away everything about immortality, what it's saying is that⌠our choices matter and our actions matter and they matter in ways and to people that we will never see and never know of. We try to put right in the world by doing right. And we do that without ever seeing what the ramifications of it are. And sometimes we're going to succeed, gloriously, and sometimes we're going to fail and we may never know that either, right? It's the choice paralysis that that you get from cheating in The Good Place, right? I can't eat or drink or move because morally it's all wrong, right? But the takeaway from the film is that, âyeah, your life matters and what you do with it matters and it matters to people that you're never ever going to see.â
P: So yeah. Yeah. Well, I mean, I think that's a great positive, you know, message for us to leave on. And I definitely think that comes across in the film, especially, you know, from the characters like Joe and Nicky just professing⌠you know, it's about the time that you have. And you don't know when your number is going to be up. So you just try and do as many good things before that happens as you can, and hopefully the world responds to that. So I really connected with that message in the film. Thanks so much for taking the time to chat with me. The Old Guard has been out for⌠five days. So I look forward to reuniting--
Greg: Does it feel longer to you. Gina? It feels like it's longer for me. [Gina laughs]
P: I look forward to reuniting in maybe 10 more days to talk about the sequel and spin-off and the prequel and all that sort of thing. [Greg laughs] But for now, The Old Guard is still on Netflix. And of course don't be tricked into watching any post-credit scenes because you might end up watching, you know, The Great British Bake Off. Well, thanks so much guys, it was a pleasure.

I keep hearing things about Live Journal commenting and like conversations in the comments? and possibly something about profile pictures? I was wondering if your would be wiling to explain any of that or experiences or how it differs from ao3 or something? (I joined fandom in 2018 and am really interested in it's history [guess who just discovered fanlore! hehe])
--
I was never much of a fan of changing icons, but a lot of people would have dozens and dozens and would choose the specific one that made sense with their comment or post. Sometimes, youâd match the fandom/theme/etc., but other times, the choice of icon would kind of color the interpretation of the comment. A lot of them were animated with pithy text that cycled through. Some were more like character portraits, but plenty had a vibe that was a bit more like a reaction gif. So... like... on a comment where you were going âWTF!â at something, youâd pick an icon where your fave was making a WTF face.
Icons are/were also used extensively in journal-based roleplaying, but I donât have any experience with that.
(Your default icon shows on your actual profile page, but you can select other icons whenever you post a post or comment. I presume this is what people meant by profile pictures.)
LJ had (and Dreamwidth has) decent threaded comments, even if a comment thread is 300 comments long and has a lot of deep subthreads (rather than a top level comment and 299 direct responses). Comments have URLs, and you can go into a thread to just see some part of a subthread, which makes it easy to read even the otherwise horribly indented discussions a bajillion comments in.
This tended to inspire a lot of longform text discussion in a way tumblr supposedly doesnât. (I mean, thereâs always my own tumblr... but in general, no, tumblr is not great for this.) Iâd say LJâs level of back-and-forth in the comments, tl;dr, and pretentious blowhard-ness was about on par with Reddit, another space that prioritizes text and threaded comments.
One thing about LJ comments is that they (originally at least) had titles. So a comment thread on a post would be like âSome quick responsesâ and another would be like âThinky thoughts on your third pointâ. (The late and unlamented âthinky thoughtsâ was everpresent on LJ.)
Because LJ was so locked down with infinite friends filters and such, youâd often meet other people in the comments of a third partyâs post. Not everybody posted anything public, let alone anything you could really interact on, but they might show up in a big discussion elsewhere.
(Basically, on LJ and on DW, you can put different groups in filters and either 1. restrict your post to that group or 2. view a dashboard-like feed of just that group. Very helpful for sorting your friends who post commentary from that bastard you like but who needs to stop spamming a different MCU gif literally every 10 minutes all day every day to the point you canât find anything else in your feed.)
Some of the same commenting energy exists on AO3, but it depends on the fandom. Have you ever been into a really popular WIP for a big ship where fans of the WIP would chat with each other and speculate about future fic developments or talk about canon in comment threads? The vast majority of AO3 comments are top-level and directed at the author, but you do see this other kind every once in a while. That used to be extremely common on big fics on LJ. (TBH, the main difference on AO3 is that people feel inhibited, not that they canât still do this LJ-like behavior.)
I didnât really post fic to LJ, so I was looking at more meta discussions, but there too, it was pretty common for two commenters to start talking to each other rather than the OP.
And yet, at the same time, you were in OPâs space where they could lock everything down if they wanted, not in a reblog situation like tumblr, so there was much more of an awareness of potential moderators. It wasnât all good: LJ had plenty of cult of nice where people were saccharine in public and salty in friendslocked posts and tons and tons of vagueblogging.
Overall, it did privilege people who spewed out walls-o-text and wanted to discuss everything to death. Getting big for... like... properly tagging other peopleâs gifsets was not a thing, though there were some big name fic reccers. The focus was much more on people who could produce a lot of their own work and on people who could hold their own in a debate.
Honestly, you could probably go look at astolatâs post where she proposed AO3 and read the comments to get a sense of how people were interacting. I think that one had a lot of top-level comments, but there were probably threads.

Oh my gosh, Triangle!!!! đą
(I know, I knowâlast episode for tonight.)
Some episodes you watch for the storylineâthis one I watched for the filming. Those long shots were WOW!, especially the one where Scully is running around absolutely losing her head trying to get the info. The difference between the two floorsâI wouldâve dearly loved seeing the set dressers run around changing the floor decor behind the camera so it looked like a new floor. (That whole scene was *chefâs kiss*) And the part where both Scullys ran through each otherâjust wowwwwwww. The filmography on this one was A+. SO good.
And he said it! He said it! And sheâdidnât say it back, but I think he knows her well enough not to be too hurt by it. But it was really cute, the way heâs sitting up in bed like a little tousled kid.
Scully, youâd betterâve been listening because your partner just handed you his heart in so many words.
Such a wow episode!
OH YES TRIANGLE TOP TEN EPISODE FOR REAL
oh YES the filming and cinematography is so gorgeous on this ep, even though the kiss towards the end is lit so little... that part where the two timeline Scullys walks through each other and can feel it? ICONIC.
that long shot with present-timeline Scully rushing through the Hoover building is SO GOOD, like... probably one of my favorite scenes in the entire show? and I believe it really was filmed all in one go (though I could be wrong, so if anyone knows better lmk) which makes it even more cool.
Scully is really in peak form in Triangle tbh, she is GOING to find Mulder and NO ONE is going to get in her way â even Skinner. the part where she stalks down to the basement office and goes off on Spender is really my favorite thing ever: "I want you to do me a favor, it is not negotiable; either you do it or I kill you, do you understand?" and then the way she says "no, I'm not [alright], I'm a gun ready to go off." I LOVE HER SO MUCH that is literally my favorite Scully line EVER (it's actually the title of the character playlist i have for her on Spotify, which I should... actually share sometime tbh)
YEAH HE SAID IT HE REALLY SURE DID HE JUST. HE LOVES HER. the thing that always gets me about that scene is that it's not this... sweeping, romantic statement or anything, he says it very simply and matter-of-factly, like it's just... a given. it's a simple, somewhat understood fact, and he's just putting it into words for once, and it really is very simple and foundational. and the way he nods a little bit as he says it, like he's reinforcing the truth of it? babiessssss
and you have to remember, this is AFTER Fight the Future! the hallway scene has happened!!! the stuff in Antarctica has happened!!!! and yet!! only when still slightly confused and yeah, admittedly a little bit drugged up, does Mulder actually outright say what was implicit in everything he did and said in FTF. and when he does, it really is that simple!! if only he could be that open about how he feels WITHOUT a trippy time traveling near-death experience (and strong painkillers).
Scully probably knows he means it for real tbh, but she just... idk I think maybe especially in the aftermath of The End/The Beginning and FTF she's a little bit uncertain in some ways??? like... she Knows but she's not sure.
the way you call it him "handing her his heart".... oh my goodness... that's so sweet....
also one of the things I really really like about Triangle is just. Scully working with the Gunmen when Mulder isn't around. that's something I love SO MUCH bc like... they're such a good vibe. Scully takes them completely at face value and really does trust them, and the way she responds to their wackiness is so similar yet different to how she does with Mulder. and the way they all just huddle around her is so cute to me for some reason shdjsjs all three of them think Scully is the coolest ever, it's adorable.
oh and btw unless you want to get put through a lot of frustration and uncomfortable sexual jokes and references and just.... generally a WHOLE LOT of unpleasantness.... skip Dreamland I and II. there's like... one or two MSR scenes in the episodes but I can fill you in on that if you want, I just.... really really do NOT like those episodes and there's no real reason to put up with the ickiness of them, so. yeah. totally up to you but my recommendation is to skip them (though I am particularly sensitive to inappropriate jokes and such, idk what your tolerance levels are like, so maybe you can just ignore it better than me)
ANYWAY yes Triangle my absolute BELOVED you're making me want to watch it again dhdjsjsjsksks
#really am gonna go edit up my scully playlist and make it public and then post it here btw!!!#Lu rambles#asks#txf#msr#mellia i feel like you should have your own tag#meta finding tag

The Golden/Stylish Trio
Title: The Golden/Stylish Trio
Requested? Yes.
Plot: You are an actress and shoot a project with Alex and Bill and the two of them have a crush on you.
Word count: 1617
â***â
Ever since you were a child, you knew that you wanted to be an actress, and it didnât matter how many people told you that you shouldnât dream so high and that you were gonna fail, that just made you want to work more just to prove them wrong. You were constantly told that you wouldnât have enough work, and that being an actress is stressful and difficult. Of course you knew that, in their own way every job is difficult, but you didnât mind it because you knew that you would have difficult moments, but you were ready for whatever that world had to throw at you, because at least that way, you would be doing something you love. You had the support of your immediate family, like your parents in the first place, and so you decided to take a chance and start your path towards making your dreams come true.
At first you had it quite difficult, not really being what the casting agent was looking for, both in terms of character and in your lack of experience. You had sleepless nights thinking about how you were supposed to gather experience when nobody wanted to give you a chance to gain any of it. And you expected this, so it wasnât a surprise to you, and it just motivated you to do better and go to some classes and stuff, but that doesnât mean getting rejected so many times didnât hurt you. There were times where you would feel like the people who told you that you wouldnât be able to make it were right and that you should just give up and go back home. Your family was alright with you coming back and going to college for something else, but just like your friends, they believed that you could do it and that every beginning is hard, but that doesnât mean that you wonât succeed. And indeed, with patience, it started happening, you started getting cast.
Of course, you wouldnât be able to get a lead role right off the bat, but you were getting work as eather a background character, or a very minor character that maybe had one or two lines. And even though it was something small and didnât mean a lot of camera time, you were still extatic and extremly grateful and happy to even be getting any work at all. Your portfolio was growing, your list of work experience was becoming longer and longer, and a lot of casting agents saw your passion and dedication to acting, to the point where you even got cast as a supporting character in a movie, the so called âbest friend tropeâ, and your lines consisted of pep talks and you were honestly just there to lift up the lead character. But it was the longest time you had spent in front of the camera so far and the most speaking lines you had gotten, so to say you were grateful and excited would be understatements.
You had no idea where all of this was gonna take you, but you were so proud of yourself for not giving up on your dreams. You even sent tickets for that movie to your cousins who didnât believe you could make it and some of the people who bullied you and said you would never amount to nothing. It wasnât to spite them, not too much anyway, because you never were a person to hold a grudge or feel good if others are feeling down. You just wanted to tell them that hard work will always pay off and that hard work can beat talent if talent doesnât work hard. You were getting recognized and it was blowing your mind to be walking down the street and hear people talking about you as you pass them, guessing if you were the girl they had seen in that movie. And it made you smile every time. Eventually you ended up getting an e-mail that changed your life in a drastic way. A huge gig, bigger than any you have had before, with actors that you admired.
You had known Bill SkarsgĂĽrd from his role as Roman Godfrey in Hemlock Groove, and as the iconic clown, Pennywise, in the most recent IT movies. And when your agent told you that he was gonna be one of your costars, you had to sit down, as your legs felt like they were gonna give out. He always seemed like a truly pleasant person to be around and an actor who really cares about the craft. And his good looks were just a bonus to a very amazing person. And that was the case for your other costar who once again gave you that feeling that you were gonna collapse if you keep standing. The Ivar the Boneless from Vikings, Victor from Outsiders, Alex Høgh Andersen. Alex always had the appeal as a literal ray of sunshine to you and it made your head feel dizzy to be working with them at all, and even when you met them, you couldnât believe it was true.
Both Bill and Alex found you adorable as you tried not to fangirl around them, and be your cool self, or at least what you thought was cool. Bill had known about you as he had watched one of the movies you were in and he admired the way you put everything you had into your character, so he already knew some things about you, but even with that, you had managed to amaze him beyong belief. To Alex. meeting you was completely new territory, but he was enjoying every second of it, seeing the way every part of you contained the character you were supposed to potray. Even your eyes would show the emotion your character was supposed to be feeling that both men were dangerously close to apologising to you the moment they looked into your eyes as you were filming a scene where you were supposed to have a disagreement or fight.
Both Alex and Bill felt like they were learning a lot from you, as much as you were learning from them. And your vibrant personality, combined with that smile of yours were enough for them to develp crushes on you. It amazed them that neither one of them was able to say anything to you, that when it came to you, they would feel nervous or get tongue tied. When the two of them were talking and you came up, the shock on both of their faces, wide eyed expressions were almost comical as they realised the second they started talking about you that they had crushes on you. They didnât want to make this a rivalry between them and try to win you over from one or the other. They were gonna leave the choice to you if you ever developped feelings for one of them and the other was gonna support you both. But that didnât stop them from admiring you constantly and gushing about you in interviews and to each other.
As more time passed, the more the three of you started getting closer, so much so that they put up with the silly nicknames that you gave them and even though Billy and Lexie werenât their favorite, and they honestly prefered some of your more creative nicknames, or standard âloveâ or âhunâ that you loved calling people who were important to you, they cared about you enough to accept you just the way you were, which meant the world to you. Billâs brother Gustaf was really glad that his costar from Vikings was friends with his brother, because the cast of the show had become like his second family in a way, and now you were a very dear friend to all of them.
Every interview that you did with these boys was a blast, you would always have fun and if they even sensed that you were feeling uncomfortable with a question or something, the both of them would create a diversion, as you woke up in them the feeling to be protective over you, but not too much that you feel suffocated, but just enough for people to know that you were not someone to mess with, both because of you being a strong and independent woman, and also because you had the two of them who had your back as much you had theirs. You three were truly a great trio, and your friendship was one that you were sure was for the books and that it was gonna last.
Regardless of the fact that their crushes were growing by the day and often times they had to stop themselves from spending entire interviews talking about you, they never forced you into anything, or tried to convince you that one of them was better for you than the other. And their biggest pet peeve was when you didnât believe in yourself and always claimed that âpeople were just too kind to youâ whenever someone complimented you, because they just wanted you to know that to them you were absolutely amazing and to so many people who were fans of you. But they appreciated that you were kinda using that to keep your humble nature, worried that if you started giving yourself that much credit, you would become vain and too self absorbed. They were thankful that they met you and hoped your friendship lasted a long time, even if nothing more developped from it. You were the Golden Trio, named by the entertainement industry, or the Stylish Trio as fans started calling you after Alexâs post, and you were happy with it.
---***---
SURPRISE @walkxthexmoon !! You wanted either one of aus that I do, but you were always sweet to me and kind, that you get all of it, written, gif and social media au :D <3 I truly hope you like it :)
I appreciate all of you guys and thank you all for your follows, likes, reblogs, Iâll never be able to thank you all enough. So thank you to all of you, I love you all so much, and if people are nice to me I do my damnest to be 10x nicer, because you deserve it back, so this fic took a lot longer to make than I thought, and hopefully itâs a good one and you guys like it, and just once again, I appreaciate all of you <3

Michael Jackson slept in bed with other peopleâs children. Everyone, including @mjjicons, knows this is inappropriate and unacceptable. The majority of sexual abuse accusations against Michael Jackson have stemmed from the fact that he slept in bed with other peopleâs children. This is one of the clear reasons why parents do not allow their children to sleep in bed with adult strangers, and @mjjicons knows this very well.
this one is actually so shitty that i canât even lol i highlighted the most important part on this.. this is actually not true
with a simple google search we can type in like âmichael jackson accusations timelineâ (i donât have to do that because i actually know every single one of them but for proof purposes)Â
safechuck said he met michael in 1986 in a pepsi commercial set and of course, he said that michael asked him to sleep with him as seen in here:
alright! letâs do some research then
1986... what a year you guys! what a year!
here we have a great year review on the detail. (a youtube channel that i love so so so so so so so so much). and as we all know, 1986 was really important for michael jacksonâs career overall, because that was the year when he wrote his (amazing) record called BAD!! kinda reclused. and of course he had the time to be the humanitarian he was:
also i can refute your âevidence number twoâ that michael only cared about pre-pubescent boys.. hereâs our girl donna having a blast with my baby and bubbles.
also, safechuck said that he gave him the thriller jacket in the meeting.......but thatâs actually a lieÂ
because that jacket is with..... lady gaga! because it never was in safechuckâs hands. it was sold for her in a auction.
letâs go forward, shall we?
back to 86. allegations say that michael asked safechuck to sleep with him in the same bed in a trip to hawaii! of course if michael jackson was in hawaii in 1986 we would have some candids.
letâs do our research once again. he was never in hawaii in 86.... 87... no... here we go, 88, with safechuck and his family:
this was in february 1, 1988, at the kahala hilton hotel - hawaii. found it. also, this was the day of âmoonwalk - the autobiographyâ release!
here he is with everyone! and our buddy alan light actually met him at the time:
as alan said, his team was with him too, of course. digging more information we can see it was a business trip and he brought his âfriendsâ with him (fake bitchessss) as always. the first accusations, however, were made to the LAPD in 1993. james was with his whole family in there, fans around, team around, everyone. the only evidence is safechuckâs word, that as we saw before we canât trust that much. i will explain why in a bit. michael had no time to bullshit in 1988, because this was the year of his american leg of the bad tour, and of course, shooting every single video from the bad era. iconic! he was in japan also in january-february as seen on his year review.
unfortunately i donât have his hotel files from this time to see how many rooms he booked, but as a fan i can say that when michael did stay in hotels, it was common for him to book the whole hallway. (please read j. randy taraborrelliâs book if interested). same bed huh.......i donât think so too
michael was diagnosed with vitiligo at the time, and his self-esteem wasnât 100% (for his whole life actually) so i doubt he would let anyone in his room. also, his addiction to medication was also at the beggining. he was working so much as you can see. wait a minute. i have to eat my breakfast.
back at it.
about sleeping with children in the same bed in other occasions:
with the allegations made firstly in 1993, michael had to explain himself about every situation envolving himself and kids around him. he wasnât a men of interviews, but on the topic, michael always said he never was alone with little boys in a bedroom. there always was someone when he did watch movies with his friends, including liz taylor, in any room (neverland had a whole movie theater there) and if falling asleep was the case, he mostly laid down on the floor. and he didnât sleep a lot either. he couldnât.
about sharing a bed tho, it happened! iâm not saying this never happened, brett barnes said it happened, in opposite sides, no touching. it happened, yes, and this is something not common between you and someone that isnât your own kid. but it doesnât mean that michael took off his clothes and had sex with a minor. not only a minor, but small boys. when someone is accused of pedophilia this is obviously a red flag, but those red flags were investigated by the FBI and local police (LAPD). if michael did it with a little boy, his DNA, sperm, skin would be all over them. the abuse would be clear. a kid doesnât have body structure to handle abuse and heal fast enough. those are little kids. the brain development and body development arenât enough to hide such a thing. if michael did it, he would be arrested FOR LIFE. oh yes he would. because no one besides his fans were there for him when shit got bad. people wanted his head in a plate with a tomato in his mouth.
on a side note i donât know why people think michael was someone that always had time to keep little boys around him and sleeping around with them...........he worked his ass off EVERY SINGLE YEAR OF HIS ACTIVE CAREER LIFE. years and years on tour, no privacy, no free time, no real friends, no real family, no one.........
2. The vast majority of âspecial friendsâ were pre-pubescent boys, who Jackson dumped once they hit puberty. Joy Robson testified to this in 2005, saying that she told June Chandler this would happen to her son as well. Joy Robson admitted in court that the dumping had a serious mental effect on the boys, as they were no longer the favourite.
this is the biggest lie ever. i canât even. about âthe vast majority of michaelâs friends being pre-pubescent boysâ i wonât even post pictures of him and little girls because this is actually.........sick.............you are just a google search away... donât be a lazy bitch.
this dumping thing is so sad to read because it portraits kids as literal objects. and this is actually a lie too. michael mantained contact with people for years, like macaulay, the cascio family (including all the kids), omer, his nephews, tata vega..... so many people, so many children. the female-chandler had jordan and his sister as kids, and in the years that michael related with them he was at family barbecues with the chandlers (and the press even called them his new family) because he was always around EVERYONE.Â
the 2005 trial was the only one actually dumped in all of this because there was no evidence against michael. and 2005 is actually a really important year for all of us, because it was the year of the innocent veredict. and wade robson was a witness in this trial. ON MICHAELâS FAVOUR. if joy robson warned june about this in this trial WHY WOULD HER KID TESTIFY IN A ALLEGED PEDOPHILEâS SIDE??????????Â
this makes no sense. and also, the clownery was way too much. in the book âuntouchableâ by randall sullivan (i do not know if this is the english title because i am brazilian and here this is the title for the book, i just translated it. but you can find it everywhere) the author describes how the prosecution tried too hard to accuse michael. they were always catching âwitnessesâ - even a man that said michael molested him in the 80â˛s, but when asked about the dates, time, what happened, the court found michael wasnât even in the place the man said he was at the time. but they demanded michael to testify on court anyway - to talk about a child he never met in a day he was at a event - with pictures and shit. a solid alibi. it was ignored. the witch hunt was big and they were ready to put michael in handcuffs WHENEVER THEY COULD. they just needed something. and this something never came.
if you are good enough to get all âyour evidenceâ together, donât be lazy to check facts. as i said before, itâs a google search away.Â
about joy robson, this bitch is bipolar or.. idk. because she was thriving in 2013 liking posts about michael and how good he was.
2013 was also the year wade filled his allegations against michael. because wade realized that michael actually did the wrong to him in 2012. before that, as a grown ass man, in the â05 trial, he didnât. but in 2012 oh boy we are here just realizing things.
in 2009, michaelâs passing, the estate released the michael jackson opus, a big book of memories and good stuff. wade was there too and made a beautiful statement, as follows:
âMichael Jackson changed the world and, more personally, my life forever. He is the reason I dance, the reason I make music, and one of the main reasons I believe in the pure goodness of human kind.â
and after that, wade wanted to be on charge of all the tributes related to michael in tv shows and awards. thatâs pretty big right......to work in the name of your âabuserâ.......
now you answer me: how did joy robson warned june chandler about anything if she, herself, said that wade didnât show a single sign that he was abused by michael? she even said michael coached him to be âa master of deceptionâ and that âwade should have won an oscar for lying that good for herâ on court (2013) and that she was lied to so good that she never believed anything.... but warned chandlerâs mom about âdumpingâ? what dumping?
if wade was dumped and really sad about it.....why would he want to lead shit about michael after he died? if your molester died....you should cheer up....
just a side note: joy said in leaving neverland that when michael died she was so relieved and danced around BUT HOW IF HER SON JUST WROTE A WHOLE LOVE LETTER TO MICHAEL JACKSON IN HIS MEMORIAL
is it crack? is it? what you smoke? following up..
3. Michael Jacksonâs âspecial friendsâ include: Emmanuel Lewis (Brooke Shields said in 1984 that it looked like the pop star was dating the boy, rather than her), Jonathan Spence (Jackson owned a naked photograph of him), James Safechuck, Brett Barnes (Jackson is on video pretending this boy is his cousin), Macaulay Culkin, Wade Robson, Jordan Chandler, Jason Francia, Arnold Schleiter, Sean Lennon (Mark Ronson said that Jackson watched pornography with both of them in a hotel room), Omer Bhatti (whom Jackson met in a Tunisian hotel, and pretended the boy was his son), David Martinez, Gavin Arvizo, Michael Jacobshagen, and his nephews (whom the police suspected him of molesting, and with whom he took an inappropriate photo shoot for Star Magazine).
âbrooke shields said in 1984 that blahblagabalâ when where WHERE bitch where
i think people donât actually answer your allegations because it is so DUMB that no one wants to waste their time with you. like......why am i doing this
i am just on #3 and iâm so tired because THERE IS NOTHING ABOUT IT are you wade robson in a fake account? just take off your mask
just
why
if you have this brooke shields line please show me???? i would like to see it
michael didnât meet omer in a tunisian hotel, he actually met him because he was in a contest for michael jackson impersonators.......and he loves him, and pia, his mom, is so grateful for everything michael done for their family WHY AM I RESPONDING TO THIS i am so frustratedÂ
4. Joy Robson also testified in 2005 that Jackson had called her up in the middle of the night in December 1993, asking that Wade Robson be brought to his bedroom. She admitted that she went back home, after leaving her son with Jackson. For context, Jackson was under investigation for child sexual abuse of Jordan Chandler at the time
she actually didnât because she wasnât a witness on court at the time. wade was. she wasnât. as i showed before. next.
actually iâm tired because all of this is so dumb and i am wasting my time........ letâs just jump to the final shit.
We have good reason to believe that Jackson molested other boys not named above. For example, who was the boy whose semi-nude photograph was found inside Jacksonâs bedroom in August 1993?Â
they never found anything in â93 because if they did michael would be arrested...............
Who filed a Restraining Order against Jackson back in the 80â˛s, and who reported this to the FBI?Â
no one filed a restraining order against michael back in 80â˛s. there is no such evidence. the fbi files are public and you can access them and read everything.
Who were the two Mexican boys that Jackson was accused of molesting back in 1985-1986?
michael didnât have contact with any mexican people between â85 and â86 as i said before, in his year review, and in â85 he was never seen with any mexican boys because he was working in USA for africa, we are the world and captain EO. nothing michael did was away from the public eye.Â
Who were the other boys that slept in Jacksonâs bedroom, according to a security guard? Who were the boys/men whose DNA was found in semen stains on Jacksonâs mattress in November 2003? Who was the âRhondaâ who sent Jackson a picture book of naked boys, because she said Jackson might like them? What did Norma Staikos know about Jacksonâs predilection for pre-pubescent boys? Who was the boy that Darlene Craviotto saw Jackson alone with in 1991 (reported in her book)?
norma staikos was his personal assistant at the time and wade said she knew about âwhat was going onâ and was someone that arranged all the âsexual meetingsâ as said on court right here, but this meeting mentioned by wade on court was actually arranged BY HIS OWN MOTHER!Â
and the book by darlene craviotto never mentioned anything sexual between michael and boys, actually itâs a kind book about how michael helped her with her agoraphobia................
WOW THAT WAS LONG AND I FEEL SO DUMB RIGHT NOW
the rest of your evidence isnât worth the read or the research because iâm not the one who should be doing this, debora, it should be you. just google it. or show something more credible, maybe actual proof? pictures? videos? audiotapes? where are they?
why am i here tho?
fuck you bitch

Hello, Is This Thing On?
Hi! (as mentioned above). Do people still use this thing? I have no idea. Years ago, and I do mean YEARS ago, I had one of these. I didnât use it for much, just reposting things, following humans Iâd met in online communities, a âcelebrityâ here or there, sometimes screaming about shit I couldnât control into the void that is the endless scrolling interweb, and being pointless in wasting my time between classes, work, and twenty-something. Regardless, my previous tumblr had minimal followers, made minimal impact, and that was okay. It was honestly just a nice place to sort of hide in plain sight. Still be part of a social world without actually having to do much. This was also pre a billion other apps and social media outlets to express yourself or scroll mindlessly at a million other pointless things that people were posting to make you giggle or even just stop for a second and think. Â
Clearly, the point of this, back then, felt like something I would use to help propel my writing career. Turns out, it did not. I did not write much, if at all. And most of the time I think it was because I was scared nothing was as good as any of the other stuff I was reading from people I liked, and thought were so much cooler and smarter than me; I still feel this way all of the time, but I do realize this was me being nervous, small minded about myself, and completely unconfident. Â
Unfortunately, I am still most of these things a lot of the time, but recently, after getting fired from a job, having my heart broken by pretty much everyone on the planet, especially a few specific people, cancelled by all of my friends (?) - this is a thing btw. (Itâs not as awful as being cancelled publicly, but it does still ruin your life, mindset, confidence, and overall physical and mental wellbeing) Getting a new job, hating it and feeling like I was going no where, and missing out on living a life I felt proud of and that I was actively participating in, I decided maybe I should just try to write it all out and see what happens.Â
To be frank, I expect nothing of this. I canât fathom a world where anything I have to say truly matters to people because lets be real - everyone has this own shit and everyone is going through so much all of the time. And we all think we have something new, quirky, interesting, and important to say. And in a world that constantly shoves perfection down our throats and works so hard to make each of us feel completely inadequate to every Kardashian, Beyonce, Grande, etc., itâs hard to really think that anything I have to say will matter to anyone; at all.Â
(I also hate that all of my âperfectionistâ people were female, but maybe itâs harder to compare to Golden Boys when you are a female. Either way, there are many boys/men/theys/thems that are put on a pedestal and made out to be perfect out there, as well, and they deserve that notation as well. I just have no points of reference off the top of my head, so please forgive me; I am trying to do this in a stream of consciousness type thing.)
I mean, the truth is, Iâm a fucking mess. Iâm 33, single, living at home, afraid of my own shadow most of the time, and spend about 98% of my time alone. I pay for a phone plan that I literally only use to send memes to my two sisters, and thatâs about it. I rarely receive texts, invites out, or even calls to make plans for something. And while a lot of this is my own doing - again, I did cut off most of the world after I realized I was sort of the joke to a lot of people - itâs still kind of pathetic, and entirely uncool. I am not a socialite, or someone cool and trendy, and to be honest, I kind of never want to be. Â
Which is a semi-false statement, because years ago, when I had one of these previously, I sort of hoped it would work out and that I could write and be âcool.â Whatever the fuck that means. But now, years later, Iâm honestly beyond glad I am not cool; not in the slightest. Maybe thatâs making it to your 30s? Maybe the trade for having to create a daily routine of lathering up my body with like 9 different versions of FDA-Approved-Vampire-Juice on my skin to prevent me from looking any older than I already do, you in turn get to have a brain that finally realizes... having a ânormalâ life is honestly pretty cool? Normal is clearly subjective here as everyone is normal, famous, notoriety, or not; Theyâre all still humans and people with feelings, thoughts, and emotions. This is a hard thing to realize when you see stadiums full of people screaming at Harry Styles (Boom! found a male perfect in this scatterbrain) or hundreds of paparazzi lined up to take photos of every person on a red carpet wearing clothing that costs as much as my student loan debt (Which sidenote, is VERYYYYYY much). Itâs hard to fully realize that maybe some of those people who became âiconsâ never really knew what they were getting into when they signed that deal with the Devil to make them seemingly immortal; especially in a world with the internet where everything can exist forever (or until the world explodes, clearly). But maybe getting into my 30s and removing myself from most social media outlets, even listening to the news, or caring about whatever fucking popular haircut was in this season (itâs always bangs, and Iâve already made that mistake. No thanks), that I learned to realize - the truly most important people in your life are the ones that stick with you when itâs tough. When getting out of bed is so hard your limbs ache and you cry every morning on your way to work, at your desk behind your computer screen hidden in a corner, or in a bathroom stall during your lunch break. The normalcy that comes with realizing your prayers to âjust make it to five oâclock,â are heard and that you are just so thankful for that that you donât even desire the innate feeling in most of our egos to stand out, be seen, âMake itâ in a way that lets people notice we âsucceeded.â Maybe this only comes with the realization of how nice it is to go to a grocery store braless and unnoticed.Â
Maybe this is also something I, and so many of us in this point and shoot viral world, are trying to still learn.Â
Sure, a lot of days I still crave being able to make a perfect Pintrest project, practice my Late Night interview with Letterman where I sound funny, charming, and likeable to all walks of life, or recreate a recipe from the New York Times website so great that The Barefoot Contessa finds out through word of mouth, and comes to my basement hide out, and offers to give me, a fellow barefoot loving bitch, her title and crown along with a glass of wine and a kiss from her husband, Jeffery. Weâll both laugh at how lovely it feels to be Barefoot ladies who understand that wanting âfameâ or ârecognitionâ in your twenties is only really a pathway to destruction by your 30s.Â
And this is not exactly something that I learned easy. In fact, I spent most of my twenties destroying my body with drugs - plenty of hard ones - and alcohol - various kinds of the same things - in order to numb my brain from the sadness that is just... being young, lonely, scared, unsure of yourself, and nervous that all of your hopes and expectations for yourself in your âdream lifeâ are too much for what you and your actual self will ever be capable of ever becoming. That I would never become the comedian I dreamed of being, or sing the perfect song in front of a crowd of admirers, or write that best selling book to tell everyone who thought I was nothing they could go fuck themselves. Itâs something I still have to remind myself, and my brain and ego, that are most likely things I will never do because those are lottery dreams. And people you know donât actually win the lottery. And at the end of the day, I am people you know. And sometimes it breaks my own heart to realize I may never feel that rush of making a crowd laugh, or creating a piece of art that makes someone feel seen, but as Pam, from The Office said, and I am paraphrasing, âthere is beauty in ordinary things.â And I think reminding myself of that as I sat on the beach this summer and watched a dad teach his son to surf, and how happy they both were when he got up, gave me that brief feeling of... being okay. I wonât lie, I did cry a little at this realization at that moment, and I am slightly teary now as I write it, but I think Iâm not ashamed of that because being normal means I get to feel things as I do, in that moment, and that is something I think I lacked in my desiring-bigger-flashier- twenties; actually being present in the world and your place in it. Even if that is just as small as being kind to a random person on the street.
I think that is why everything I felt I wanted to write never came out correct. It never came out âPerfect.â And that was my problem for most of my life, even up until today, Iâm afraid that I am a perfectionist in the ways that are preventing me from becoming... me. Iâm still fearful that I am too late in ever âaccomplishingâ anything I ever dreamed. I doubt I will ever actually write a book. Iâm unsure Iâll ever make a decent living. I am beyond doubtful I am ever going to be loveable to someone whom I also want to love back. And maybe Iâm a little scared that Iâll never have a kid, or that if I do have a kid, Iâll never be a decent parent. And Iâm still working on breaking the cycle of thinking something has to âsoundâ or âbe seen as importantâ to be meaningful. There is beauty in the ordinary. Iâve started to make it my mantra. Spoken in my head every time I see a teenage couple holding hands walking in town, a father holding their baby close to his chest, a woman dressed in a power suit striding through an office building or city on their way to make their own careers or push equality further. Iâve started to dream of how actual normalcy makes the real changes. How every 4th grade teacher has a chance to change some kids life.
Clearly, a lot of these personal fears I have about myself not being âenough,â or doing something good enough to become successful at it and build a life out of it, are monotonous fears and privileged middle-class complaints. Iâm aware they may not resonate with anyone, anything, or mean much more than just being an online public diary entry to my own meandering thoughts, but, still - I finally felt like I had to try. Â
So here it is, the whole truth on how I let myself become a ghost for years.Â
I hope someone will stick around while I just... try to explain it all, figure it all out, and hopefully make sense out of even being whatever a human who is hoping to grow even means. Hopefully, something here will resonate with someone else and we can create our own little weirdo corner of the world where weâre not seeking more than just trying to be honest with ourselves and what it means to be human. Even if that means just posting a recipe for banana bread (thank you Gwen Steffani for keeping me able to spell Banana), reposting random memes about how we all want to scream for 30 seconds and feel better, or sad-girl diary entry posts about how I ruined my own life a million times over. Oh, and maybe Iâll give you tips on how to stain your wood deck, because I spent my day doing that yesterday and basically, Home Depot is calling me to be in their ADs.Â
But at the core of it all, lets be very real, itâs hard to be human in so many ways. And Iâm just hoping this connects with anyone. Especially any of us who wished we were different - in any way.
xoxo

funnily enough, iâm interested in your land stuff in the same way iâm into ocs/the homestuck kidsâyouâre an interesting and knowledgeable figure in my understanding of homestuck and meta and stuff, so iâm like. who is this person. whatâs the important info lol.
... :o
You know what, why not?
I am a Seer of Doom. Originally, this title came to me in a Dream, but Iâve learned just how much it fit me over the years. I am a Seer through and through- Passive to a fault, group-oriented, putting others, my friends, ahead of me. I am quite focused on understanding and knowing new things, and helping guide others and helping others understand. I am also definitely a Doombound, I have an understanding of Suffering and all the bad shit people around me are going through, and I may not be able to help, but Iâve found solace and comfort in being there and trying to give pep talks to friends that need them. I am also very anxious and paranoid, to the point of literally having constant visions of worst-case scenarios which I tune out almost instinctively at this point.
I am a completionist, and I am very, very stubborn. When playing games, when doing things, I will actively map out and think things out to optimize whatever I need to do in order to get everything effectively, but at the same time, I have methods and ways of doing things that arenât always necessarily the most correct or efficient, but god dammit theyâre mine and I will not change my ways even if presented with a better option (See, it taking an Update that rendered Tumblr literally unusable before I even considered getting XKit).
I have a very deep fear of isolation. Namely, the fear of incommunication. Something happening that cuts me off from the people I love and care about, them not knowing whatâs going on with me, me losing contact with them. This manifested in a bit of an unhealthy manner when I was younger by being extremely clingy and getting very anxious when someone I know online hasnât been on and said anything in a few days- Only exacerbated by the loss of contact with a partner back in the day.
I got fucked up, academically speaking, because I was always the âgifted, smart kidâ in school, and when that didnât happen to be the case as I grew up, I had no precedent or idea of what to do when my grades started dropping. Pair it with a particularly nasty teacher, and I ended up with a deep dread and anxiety regarding standarized tests and a disdain for classes in general from which I havenât really recovered. I respond to conflict and change in my life by shutting off and ignoring the problem, which leads to procrastination and some executive dysfunction.
So with all of that put together, my Land would most likely have something to do with my fears and anxieties, and probably try to push me to improve in some way. With my fear of incommunication as mentioned earlier, something blocking the signal from my devices and making it difficult to keep in touch, particularly in a situation as stressful as SBURB, would force me to focus on whatâs going on and try to find ways to deal with the situation before I can actually get in touch and help those I love. Add to that anxiety about getting lost, extreme phobia of insects, a fear of losing who I am as a person, and sprinkle it with a few miscellaneous common tropes, and I think I can start seeing my Land coming into shape.
The Land of Thorns and Static. Or LOTASÂ for short. I considered several names for it but the aesthetic was quite solid in my mind. Thorns refers to thorny bushes, to sharp vines, to gnarled trees. An expanse of forest as far as the eye can see, dark, hazy, and difficult to navigate. Playing into my fear of bugs and my inexperience when it comes to being outside, my affinity for myths and tales of fae and woods, and my love of fantasy in general, a big spooky forest seemed like an adequate setting. Static, on the other hand, plays into the challenge and Quest my land poses.
Through the Land there would be blotches and patches of corruption. Areas, buzzing with static, visual glitching. This ties into Doom as Technology and also aesthetic I vibe with, while giving a perfect hindrance to contact with others in my Session. The static, the dense woods, it all makes communication difficult and sparse, needing to either keep me on the move, or having to learn to trust that my partners will be okay while I push through stuff myself. Of course I also thought about the idea of this Static also âcorruptingâ one exposed to it. A dream-like haze, forgetting what youâre doing or where youâre going. Making the woods so easy to get lost into, so easy to get wounded in, incommunicated, afraid...
A majority of the Consorts- Which I am going to say are Green Salamanders because I love those glubbing fellas and Green is my favorite color- Would be under this hazy spell permanently. Some lucky Consorts are still free, but theyâre terrified, to see their friends and family acting like everything is good and fine while they repeat tasks over and over, while crops die as they lack care from the local farmers. Some fun lore to spice things up, I could see something generic like... A looooong time ago, the people of the Land lived carefree lives. Too carefree. They were so carefree that tales of old began to fade from their collective knowledge. They forgot to heed clear signs and warnings of danger. They forgot to identify clearly bad ideas. And, of course, they forgot to respect the fae and their rules. Angered by their lifestyle, the Denizen of the Land, which is probably Dullahan just because I think itâs cool, fits the woods aesthetic, and is also a fae, made sure that if they wanted to live such carefree and forgetful lives, they would. The spell befell the Land, the corruption started, making Consorts complacent, forgetful, making the woods unforgiving and darkened...
And so it is said that the Seer of Doom would be able to snap the Consorts out of this haze, and find a way to navigate the woods, find Dullahanâs Minions that are keeping the spell active, and confront Dullahan himself.
Playing into my fear of not having enough time, me liking helping others, and such, I could also see some of the main parts of my Quest having Time Limits. NPCs that need rescuing, dungeons that are only accessible for a short span of time, making it so that, even when I can contact people outside my Land, or I am away and helping them, I know thereâs tasks that need to be done and I have to both have patience, but also, not put things aside for later in case I need to rush elsewhere for whatever reason.
In definitive, my Land would be an absolutely awful test of stress for me, but it would try and push me to be more âindependentâ in a way.
Thatâs what comes to mind, mostly, when I think about it!
Oh also, have a Browser Icon for Dullahan since you got to the end of this post!

His dorm for first year had been a prison-cell-box with a broken window and bunk beds, the stale smell of farts from his roommate who insisted on top-bunk and made his evenings and early mornings absolute hell- but hey, heâs getting a fancy degree at the end, so itâs worth it, right? Jeonggukâs not sure if itâs worth it anymore.
(1)
Jeongguk was broke.
It was his own fault - thatâs the price you pay for enrolling in University, studying something he probably doesnât actually need but loves. Itâs all fine and dandy studying Music until he realises that famous musicians donât become famous because they got a degree. Ask any musician how they made it big and theyâll reply with good luck and hard work, not some fancy degree that means nothing unless youâve got the talent to be successful. Well shit, now itâs in perspective, Jeonggukâs spending all this money on a degree thatâs probably not going to make a difference when the time comes.
Now he has a part-time job at a random pizza takeaway that makes no money because Dominoes opened up across the street a few weeks ago, and heâs barely making enough to buy him more than two packets of instant noodles at a time.
This evening, the library is fairly quiet. Across the stacks are small candles inside black lanterns, a Harry Potter-esque vibe filling the room as the clock rolls into ten. Jeongguk loves when the school year ends, because for the past week, itâs only been the sad and broke music kids doing exams, meaning the library is virtually empty now that everybody else has finished up. Jeonggukâs last exam was yesterday. Huffing out a sigh that turns one of the only other heads in the library in his direction, he stretches his arms up over his head and arches his head backwards.
âWhereâre you going over summer?â
Yoongi is another sad and broke music student, a third-going-fourth year who met Jeongguk in the music society during Jeonggukâs first weekend at University. Leaning his chair back on two legs, he throws a paper ball into the air and catches it, not even looking at Jeongguk as he talks to him.
Jeongguk shrugs in reply, tapping his nails against his laptop. âDunno. Home, I guess.â
âAny plans?â Yoongi asks. âWanna go to Lollapalooza?â
âCanât afford it,â Jeongguk sighs, as Yoongi forces out a, âme neitherâ in between a chortled laugh. âAnd I donât know. Probably going to have to get another job.â
âGood,â replies Yoongi, yawning loudly. âYou canât keep working at that shithole. Iâm your only friend, and even I go to Dominoes instead of where you work.â As an afterthought, he looks at Jeongguk with a small frown, âsorry.â
Shaking his head in reply, Jeongguk slumps in his chair and sighs once again. Yoongiâs just suddenly put it all into perspective for him; Yoongiâs his only friend, he works a job that barely puts a meal onto his plate, and itâs not going to get any easier.Â
The ball in Yoongiâs hand begins to bounce again and Jeongguk glances over at the student librarian, who buries her head into the crook of her elbow and sleeps her way through her night-shift. Itâs only Jeongguk, Yoongi and four others in the library right now; none of them are reading, none of them are doing anything particularly productive. Two students are tucked into an alcove pouring wine quite openly into small glasses with a board of chess unfolded out on the table, the others on computers, wishing the night away. Jeongguk just doesnât want to go back to his dorm, to where his roommate and his loaded to the brim stomach of Chinese food and unhealthy diets is waiting for him.
âYou planning on staying here all night again?â questions Yoongi. He probs his feet up onto the partitioner under the table, accidentally kicking Jeonggukâs ankle in the process. âSorry,â he adds.
âYep,â Jeongguk replies, popping the âpâ. âIâd literally rather sleep on the boys changing room floors than go back to my dorm.â
Yoongi rolls his eyes. âThatâs disgusting, donât be dramatic.â
âIâm being deadass,â Jeongguk insists, his eyes blown wide. âWant to swap dorms for the night? Ten dollars and youâll be dry heaving in the hallway before midnight.â
âIâll pass. Either way, you know my apartment is always open for you,â Yoongi reminds him. âYouâve got a key. Come by once youâve finished whatever it is youâre doing. My wifiâs out.â
Another sigh. Jeonggukâs not defeated his boredom yet, the twitch in his fingers to do something still there. If he goes to Yoongiâs apartment now, heâll just annoy him with the need to do something energetic, and Jeongguk knows best that Yoongi values his quiet time on an evening.
âOkay. Well, Iâll stay here for a little bit, and come by when Iâm done,â Jeongguk says, stifling a yawn that would otherwise expose the fact that heâs absolutely knackered. âI wonât make a sound.â
âYou will, you always do, I just pretend not to notice because I love you.â Yoongi says I love you with a disgusted face, sticking his tongue out with a fake gag that Jeongguk knows just proves how much he cares. Yoongiâs good like that, the more subtle type of loving older brother that Jeonggukâs been deprived of all his life. âDonât stay out too late.â
âWonât.â
Yoongi picks himself up and irons the aches out of his shoulders. âCool. Stay safe and smart, Guk.â
âI canât do both,â he sighs sadly, and Yoongi collects his bag and affectionately throws the paper ball at Jeonggukâs head. It bounces off and lands near one of the bookshelves. Neither picks it up, and Yoongi leaves the library. It dawns on Jeongguk three minutes after Yoongi leaves him that heâs actually really fucking lonely. Add that to the big long list of things Jeongguk is this year: friendless, broke, sad and lonely. God, he needs a hobby.
He also needs money. Very badly. After opening his phone and banking app and realising that heâs so close to slipping into the red, Jeongguk refrains from spending what he has left on something fried and takeaway and opens Google. One click, a few types: How to make money fast. Google will know what to do.
Jeongguk scrolls. Take online surveys and get paid NOW! No. Review apps and earn money! Not enough phone memory to download an app to review it, he scrolls down. Lonely AND Horny? Get yourself a Sugar Daddy TODAY! Oh? Heâs listening.
The blog that opens up as he clicks the link is somebodyâs personal blog, the title in a gross and thick font that Jeongguk almost canât read. They talk a while about why you shouldnât become a sugar-baby, but Jeongguk remembers that one time Tana Mongeau did a storytime on how she had a Daddy and got a lot of money, and Jeonggukâs got assets. Heâs smart, has abs on a good day, and his dick isnât half bad looking. Thatâs what Yooa had said to him, anyway. Finally, thereâs a hyperlink to Seeking Arrangements, and Jeongguk feels kind of overwhelmed.
At least once in their lives, everybodyâs thought about being a Sugar Baby. Jeongguk definitely has, all the damn time when heâs sitting around at work doing nothing because theyâre about as busy as one can expect for a pizza place with two stars and a rival Dominoes parallel from the front. Heâs even read about experiences, where people meet their daddies or mommies on the streets or through apps- and there was even that one crazy story about somebodyâs Principal becoming their sugar Daddy, or something, he canât quite remember. Regardless, Jeonggukâs entertained this thought before.
He looks down at himself. If he really tried his best, he could be kind of good at it. Without sounding conceited, Jeonggukâs good looking. What lets him down at school is the fact that he always dresses lazily and ignores people, rejects requests to go out and then complains to Yoongi about not having friends who hang out with him. All he needs is to fix his appearance, upload his best photographs, and he could secure the bag quite easily.
Jeongguk fills in the boxes and makes an account. petkoo is what he decides to name himself, and he picks his best selfie off Instagram as an icon. He leans back, as if a look from far away will change the way it looks. Itâll do. Luckily for him, heâs into men and women, and it just so happens that American men are both the dumbest and easiest to please. Suddenly, heâs excited, his leg bouncing under the table until he hits his knee and stops. The student librarian raises her head quickly, afraid that a member of staffâs come in to supervise. They havenât, and so she drops her head again. Ten fifty three, ish. Jeongguk blinks sleepily.
All thatâs left to do is get his account verified, and life will be forever changed.
(He hopes).
(2)
Yoongiâs apartment is off campus, about fifteen minutes away if heâs walking. Itâs small, but significantly bigger than Jeonggukâs dorm on campus, and decorated with whites and creams, big and open windows letting in golden light, when the timeâs right. Itâs the type of apartment you saw online, on Tumblr posts or in movies, looking like a perfect backdrop - sometimes, Jeongguk canât believe that Yoongi lives here, and wakes up every morning to the view of the city below his window, power lines like train tracks connecting houses, dangling fairy-lights on the trelacing of his across-the-street-neighbourâs rooftop.
That being said, Jeongguk technically lives here, too. He doesnât know how long itâs been since heâs actually stepped foot in his dorm at the same time as his roommate; he only goes in there to collect things one at a time. Today, for example, he had dropped by to empty out his small and pathetic wardrobe and put it inside one suitcase, wheeling it right up to Yoongiâs front door with a bright smile that Yoongi couldnât say no to. His couch in the living room was Jeonggukâs comfortable bed when it wasnât cold and when it was, Yoongi would huff and offer an invite into his bed, because he loves Jeongguk like heâs his baby brother, and it would suck if he died from pneumonia, or something. He said that to Jeongguk once. Jeongguk smiled for ten minutes afterwards.
Harry Potter plays on TV, the fourth movie because itâs Jeonggukâs favourite and Yoongiâs a sick man who canât say no. Itâs around five, and Jeonggukâs literally been holed up in Yoongiâs apartment the entire day. The most sunlight that he got was when he walked out of Yoongiâs house to take the trash out, and even then, the bin was in the shadows and the sun never touched his skin once. He can see the sunlight through the window, which technically counts. Yoongi cringes and takes away a plate from the coffee table.
âYouâre allowed to stay at my place, as long as you clean up after yourself,â he says with a huff. His nose upturns with a scrunch, âNo wonder you donât have a girlfriend.â
âBy choice!â Jeongguk adds, pulling a thread out from his sock. âTheyâre too much hard work.â
âYouâre just fucking lazy,â Yoongi points out. He dumps the plate in the sink and comes back to Jeongguk. âYou know that, donât you?â
Thereâs a silence. Then a sigh, âYeah.â
Jeongguk loves staying at Yoongiâs place, especially when Yoongi is feeling particularly soft and lets Jeongguk do whatever he wants, given heâs not going to get Yoongi a noise complaint in the morning. The movie continues to play undisturbed, the sight of Beauxbatonsâ carriage swooping over towards the runway leaving Jeongguk with an open-mouthed smile on his face and Yoongi folds his arms, burying himself further into the sofa. On the coffee table, Yoongiâs laid out some snacks, both his phone and Jeonggukâs laying down flat because itâs supposed to keep Jeongguk distraction free, even though heâs the type of friend to never be on his phone around his friends unless he absolutely needs to be.
Another huff is in Yoongiâs mouth, begging to be huffed out. Over on the coffee table, Jeonggukâs phone lights up with his lock screen of Sansa Stark blurred out by a notification, the ringer on loud. Attention is pulled from Dumbledore to the light, Jeonggukâs brows lifting with interest but his eyes immediately back on the TV.
âYoongi,â he calls out, and Yoongi glances over, âcan you see who itâs from?â Could be his Mom, it could be important.
The huff is released. âCome into my house and boss me aroundâŚâ Yoongi mutters under his breath and reaches for Jeonggukâs phone, pressing the home button to read the notification. Heâs silent for a long moment, and Jeonggukâs so enthralled in the movie that he doesnât notice, not until Yoongi looks at Jeongguk with a confused and funny look, his top lip curled to his nostrils as he blurts: âWhy the hell are Seeking Arrangements telling you youâre profileâs ready?â
Jeongguk looks away so fast from the television that Yoongiâs almost frightened. His eyes are wide and twinkling, âTheyâve finished it?â
âWhat the fuck.â
âGimme!â Jeongguk splutters, his hand diving towards his phone urgently. âBro...itâs been like, five days.â
Yoongi is bewildered. âWhy do you have an account? What-why-whenâŚ?â
âI donât know, I need money and I thought it would be funny,â Jeongguk shrugs. His thumb moves quickly across his phone screen. âI canât believe theyâre done. Iâm gonna be rich, Yoongi.â
âDo you know how sketchy half the people on that site are?â Yoongi questions. âPlus theyâre all old and perverted men.â
âRich men.â
âRich, old and perverted,â Yoongi nods. âGuk, I know I said you needed another job...but this doesnât qualify. Iâd rather you flip paper thin pizzas.â

Hello! Now that most of us are home with not much to do, I thought Iâd share a process that might help you stay productive and organised.
What is a digital cleanse? A digital cleanse (to me anyway) is the digital version of spring cleaning. This is the time to make sure your devices are tidy and organised. I have separated this post into four different areas to tackle while completing a digital cleanse.
I will most likely make a more in-depth post on this aspect very soon as I believe it is super important to keep your computer clean, especially as a student.
Folders are your best friend!
Organise all the items on your computer desktop into appropriate folders.
I suggest at least creating a general folder for school and then creating subfolders for each class.
Do I really need this?
Youâve probably dragged and dropped a lot of random images or downloads onto your desktop that you just never opened.
Go through every item on your desktop and either delete it or finding it a spot in a folder.
If youâre indecisive on where it goes or if you want to delete it, create a âmiscâ folder to throw all the random items.
Trash and Finder Applications
Sort through the trash bin icon and ensure that everything in there is okay to be deleted and then click âempty!â
I am not sure what the equivalent to this is on non-Mac computers but go through the Finder application, especially the applications and downloads, and delete anything you no longer need or use
Your computer browser is frequently overlooked when cleaning up your computer. Which is a shame because itâs where most of us spend most of our time while on our computer!
Bookmarks Bar:
If youâre like me, you constantly bookmark sites and then never go back to them again
First, go to your bookmark manager and immediately delete links that you have zero interest in returning to.
Then, separate the remaining links into different categories and create folders for each.
Some folder ideas: âsourcesâ (for when youâre writing academic essays), âgoogle driveâ (for those that use docs, slides, sheets, etc), âarticles to readâ, âwishlistâ (i have my wishlist folder separated into further subfolders for âbooksâ and âclothesâ), ârecipesâ, âthings to doâ (for any museums, shows, experiences you want to check out in your city)
Make sure to have your email and any school websites on your bookmarks bar. I also like to have Wikipedia saved there too as Iâm always reading about something there.
Little tip: Avoid keeping social media websites on your bookmarks bar to avoid distractions. Instead, create a folder titled âSocial Mediaâ to keep on your bookmarks bar just so those sneaky Tumblr and YouTube logos arenât tempting you but you still have easy access!
Extensions:
Uninstall any extensions that you no longer use
While youâre at it, install some helpful extensions!
My favourite extensions (for Chrome) are:
Honey: Automatically applies coupons when you shop online
Grammarly: Helps fix any spelling or grammar mistakes
YouTube Blocker: Allows you to block any creators or keywords from showing up on your homepage or the recommended sidebar
This one is fairly self-explanatory and Iâm pretty sure most of us clean out our social media profiles periodically. I will list some additional places to tidy up in addition to the obvious ones.
Unfollow people on all platforms that no longer make you happy or that you are just no longer interested in
Clean out Tumblr and Twitter drafts + saved posts on Instagram and Facebook
Delete posts that you are no longer happy with or proud of having on your social media accounts
Check out your muted lists on various platforms and go ahead and unfollow them
Clean out, edit, or delete Pinterest boards, YouTube lists (especially the Watch Later list), and Spotify playlists.Â
Delete any books you are no longer interested in reading on Goodreads
Delete any shows or movies you are no longer interested in on Netflix
Edit, add to, or delete wish lists on shopping websites
This is another self-explanatory one and a place that many of us already clean up occasionally as well. Here are my suggestions on how to tidy up and organise your phone:
Delete any apps you no longer use, distract you too much, or that you never even opened
Tip: Use the screen time feature on your phone to see what apps you spend the most time on to help you with this
I do recommend keeping some games on your phone that can be played on airplane mode to keep you busy while commuting, such as Sudoku, any word games, Tiny Wings, etc.
Clean out your Safari tabs
I personally tend to have a million tabs open on Safari that I literally never go back to
Exit out of anything you no longer need and consider transferring any links to your bookmarks bar on your computer
Clean out your Photos app
Idea: create folders for individual people in your life. For example, have a folder titled your friendâs or significant otherâs name and put all your photos with/of them in there.
I am clearly a big fan of folders so here are some more folder recommendations: separate folders for each city youâve visited, folders for specific dates or events, folders for your pets, or how about a meme folder?Â
Make sure to âheartâ or favourite photos you look at often for easy access. I keep a photo of my timetable, a bus schedule, and the campus map in my favourites album.
Clean out your Notes app:
I know most peopleâs notes app is filled with the most random things ever.
Delete anything that just makes no sense or that you no longer need.
Consider merging different notes if youâre like me and keep a lot of login information, passcodes, security questions, etc in there. Just put them all in one note.
Other tips:
If you really have the time, delete any contacts for people that you really donât think youâll ever contact again.Â
Try out a different organisation system for your apps for a change
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you for reading my post and I hope you took something from it. If you have any questions, feel free to send me an ask! You are more than welcome to add any additional tips or suggestions when reblogging or in the replies.

I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the announcements from Maxis Monthly? Did the Game Changers know about or have any say in the rebrand?
Ok so Iâm gonna answer your last question first lol
The title âGame Changerâ is definitely a little confusing because it implies that we actually change the game in some way, but we donât. Well, most of us donât. I think some of the bigger Game Changers have a little sway because they know the team personally and have been to the Sims Headquarters and stuff, but for the most part all we do is get early access so that we can provide our individual communities with a glimpse of the pack that goes a little more in depth than just trailers, that way people can see whatâs included and decide if they want to buy it, and hopefully bring more people to the franchise in the process. And we definitely didnât have anything to do with the rebrand, we heard about it at the same time everyone else did.
As for your first question, Iâm gonna put it under a cut for a couple reasons: [a] Listen, I have opinions lol and [b] for anyone that is like me and is sensitive to colour contrast, I donât want anyone getting a nasty headache or sore eyes if they donât have to. Letâs do this!
So first off, LOVE that theyâre adding over 1000+ decorative world objects! There have been so many things over the years in different packs that Iâm sure weâve all seen and been like âWhy didnât you let us use that!?â, and now weâll be able to! Sucks that some creators spent so much time liberating those things for us only to now have their work be obsolete though đ
I also think the Create-A-Sim Story Mode looks interesting. I donât like the idea that you canât change the sims aspiration and traits though; theyâre locked in once youâve finished answering the questions. Iâm not sure how much use Iâll get out of it, as I tend to either pick specific traits based on my simâs backstory or randomise them, but itâs nice to know the option is there and answering the questions might be fun to see what kind of sim you get!
Now, onto the rebrand.
I just donât understand it!
Listen, Iâll be the first to admit, I donât like change; I donât do well with big changes at all. But this isnât about that, this is about trying to understand why EA felt the need to rebrand The Sims 4 (which I canât work out) and why they chose those colours, and I just⌠donât understand.
I mean I understand, theyâre trying to attract a younger audience with bright shiny things. But I donât UNDERSTAND, you know? I donât understand what prompted them to do it now, after almost five years?! Why did they feel the need to change something that didnât need to be fixed at all? And why they went with this particular colour scheme! Itâs so unnecessarily bright! As a graphic designer Iâm genuinely horrified by the colours they chose and as a consumer of their product, Iâm a little annoyed that they spent time and money on this when there are other things that are more important (like things that are actually broken) that keep getting the âWe donât have the resourcesâ excuse or just flat out ignored.
Hereâs the difference between the original box arts and the rebranded ones:
That blue is GOD AWFUL! Itâs like Tumblrâs new blue background; I literally have a headache from looking at it! It doesnât fit with the style of the rest of the game at all. And they claimed in the stream that the new box art designs really make the render sims âpopâ⌠they really donât. The backgrounds of the DLC packs are way too busy. I just I donât understand why they couldnât just stick with the nice clean, minimalist look they had before; it was truly a timeless design. A design that actually made the render sims pop and didnât detract from them at all with busy backgrounds and headache-inducing colours!
Oh and can we just talk about the new base game box art render for a second? I love it, I really do. It looks cool and Iâm excited to get to learn more about these new sims that are being added and according to the Gurus in the stream, all of the stuff on those sims is being added to base game (the stuff thatâs not already base game that is). Iâm excited about that pink hair BUT take a good look at all the other stuff⌠look familiar? Thatâs because most of us have already paid for that stuff. The jacket on the pink haired sim is from Get Famous, the beanie on the sim next to her is from Get to Work, the hair under the beanie is from Dine Out, the bracelet on the sim with the camera is from Seasons, the chef uniform in the middle is from Get to Work, the jacked on the sim up the back with the phone is from Get Together, and the sleeveless hoodie on the sim to the left of that is from Fitness Stuff. Theyâre all recolours of stuff from other packs. Iâm all for free content, because hey itâs free, but I really wish they wouldnât make things from other packs base game; people paid for that stuff.
Side note: I feel sorry for the people who collect the psychical copies of the games, because unless they can afford to buy new copies of all the packs, any new packs arenât going to match their old ones now. And also the people who got tattoos of the old plumbob đ
Which brings me to the plumbob, and yet another before and after:
The new plumbob is whatever; I donât hate it, I just prefer the original. It matched the one in game and suited the artstyle of the whole game really well, whereas the new one looks too much like The Sims 3 and doesnât suit The Sims 4 at all. Itâs also not going to match the plumbob in-game anymore as for some reason they decided not to change that one? I mean it wouldnât matter to me if it did because I always have my default file edited to get rid of it, but it just makes no sense to leave the original in there if youâre changing everything else.
New box art, plumbob and stuff aside, the thing that probably annoys me the most about this rebrand is that the pack icons and colours are changing. I get that they probably ran out of colours to choose from for each pack, but the fact that itâs so hard to tell the difference between the colours for the game and stuff packs is gonna be a problem for anyone who has difficulty distinguishing between different colour tones. Mr Sandwich, for example, couldnât tell that there was a difference between the two, even after I pointed it out to him. Why didnât they make one of them yellow?!
I personally used to find things from expansions in the catalogue by looking for the colour of each pack icon. âI know the thing Iâm looking for is from Get Famous, so Iâll just keep scrolling until I see a pink iconâ⌠well, not anymore:
All expansion packs are now teal, all game packs are now blue (a different blue than the box art blue I might add đŠ), and all stuff packs are green; the only difference is the icon on them. And yes, Iâm aware you can filter things by pack, thatâs what I used to do for stuff and game packs because they were always the same colour, but if Iâm just scrolling through say the curtains category, itâs a lot quicker to just scroll once or twice looking for an icon colour than it is to go into the little menu, click on âpacksâ, scroll down to the pack I want and choose it.
The new pack icons and colours also look awful on the main menu. Hereâs a little before and after again:
Urgh that blue! There as nothing wrong with the original menu but now weâre gonna have the god awful blue again⌠not the point, sorry. Look at those icons! Theyâre too⌠saturated? busy? both? I dunno what but they look awful, especially on the blue background! At the very least they should have just made them one solid colour instead of trying to carry over the crystallized look.
And lastly the loading screenâŚ.
Again with the gross colour combinations and the background is just plain boring. The old one is much nicer and easier on the eyes.
Maybe itâs because Iâm old and not the target audience for this new look but honestly I JUST DONâT GET IT! I understand that EA are trying to attract more people to the game, obviously younger people, but I really donât think alienating and confusing the people who currently play your game in favour of luring in new people is this is the way to go about it.
Thankfully Iâve already seen a couple of the amazingly talented modders in the community say theyâll do everything they can to either give us back the original menus and loading screens or make a less obnoxious version as soon as they can, so Iâm just gonna keep my fingers crossed that it wonât be too difficult for them to do and look forward to downloading those mods so I can play without getting a headache every time I have to look at the main menu and loading screen đ
NOTE: Before anyone starts shouting at me for âbeing negative about a free updateâ just note that anon asked for my thoughts on it; these are my thoughts. If you like the new look thatâs great, Iâm really happy for you! But anon wanted my honest opinion and Iâve given it. Will this rebrand stop me playing the game? Of course not! The game is still the same no matter what the box art and menus look like, but that doesnât mean I have to like them and it doesnât mean I canât express my disappointment about it all, especially if a follower asks for my opinion about it.

Star Vs the Forces of Evil Reviews: The Blood Moon Ball (1-15)
Welcome back.. though to most of you probably just joining me, welcome. Iâve been on a sorta hiatus from revewiing due to a combination of procrastination, depression, and being really busy. But I finally decided it was time to put boots to the ground and get back to doing what I love: Going on way too long about childrenâs television. As such, with She Ra taking a bow a few weeks back and nailing it I got to thinking about another show that just so happened to end the year before: Star Vs the Forces of Evil. Part of it was very simple: She ra ended on a trriumphant note, making a well set up romance that had been itâs backbone canon, having a wonderful final battle, tons of payoff and a throughly happy ending that satisfied all involved and got tons of well earned coverage for having a deep, meaningful relationship between two lesbians finally coming together being the thing that saves the universe. It was freaking great. Meanwhile a year prior Star Vs, after having been treated like toilet dinner by disney for no good reason by having itâs final season shoved out over a few sundays after a yearlong hiatus.. ended not with a bang, but with a wah wah trumpet. The series ending was unsatisfying, left more questions than answers, had the title character loose all likeablity and was in general miserable. I hadnât been this pissed off at a finale since How I Met Your Mother and hadnât seen a romance botched this badly in animation since âMerry Christmas Mordecaiâ. It was BADDDDD. However it did make me want to go back to the series; To revisit the good, the bad and the just plain weird to remember what made me love the series, what made me want to throw my tv into a river before reminding myself âNo dude, shitâs expensive. â, and what COULD have been, what SHOULD have been and what WASNâT. So iâll be reviewing assorted episodes.. and the best place to start for me was with the introduction of one of the series best characters, as well as at the same time the start of a ship that was a good idea at first but would slowly take the series down with it as it started to fall apart. This is Blood Moon Ball. There will be blood, and a dead horse, after the cut.Â
Before we get into the episode, one of the series most notable and honestly a damn good one, for those 2 of you not familiar with the series a quick refresher: Star VS is the story of Star Butterfly, a rebelious 14 year old princess from the Kingdom of Mewni. Mewni is your standard medievil fantasy kingdom.. but you know with wifi because they have magic compacts that work as phones and large sale acess to the multiverse. Their also ruled over by a long sucession of queens with great and terrible magic power, which is channeld through an increidbly powerful wand thatâs passed down from generation to generation. On her 14th birthday Star gets her turn with the wand.. and not long after sets everything on fire. Not wanting the kingdom to get blown up while Star figures out thing, her parents send her to Earth, and after bribing the school principal into enroling her, thatâs not a joke on my part but an actual joke from the pilot, Star soon becomes an exchange student, boarding with the Diazes and soon becoming best friends with their teenage son Marco, a saftey obessed, shy talented martial artist. The two are frequently forced to beat up the hordes of Ludo, a spoiled monster king who wants the wand for himself. Things would get way darker... like in literally two seconds as the revelation starâs people stole mewni from the monsters and Starâs hatred being revealed to be partly racisim instead of standard hero and villian stuff. But thatâs for future reviews. Today we have demons, internet commentors and ship tease to get to. So with the basic premise set up letâs finally get on with it. We open on the arrival of my boy and yours, hopefully, Tom Lucitor. Tom is the prince of the underworld, basically exactly what it sounds like: fire, brimstone, demons spooky scary skeltons sending shivers up your spine. Heâs also Starâs ex boyfriend. How they broke up is.. never really explained. While more details about their relationship, includign the fact Tom bought Star her iconic Devil Horn headband on their frist date, were revealed in the tie-in spellbook, and reveals that starâs arson that got her sent to mewni happened right after her and tom broke up, but never explains WHY. My guess is since the series clearly frames the breakup as Tomâs fault in this episode and on his anger, they probably didnât want a scene of him screaming his head off at star, either to keep him sympathetic or , more likely, because a scene of a teenage girl watching her boyfriend having a rage fueld breakdown that leads to htem breaking up would be MASSIVELY uncomfortable to watch and unlike some uncomfortable to watch scenes, wouldnât tell us anything we didnât know already. So unlike some later things they never pulled the trigger on this one at least makes sense. Anywho, Tom arrives, parking in the handicap spot (a nice little gag as Starâs crush at the time Oskar points it out, while the dead skeletal horse pulling tomâs carriage turns around to look at him), and all the girls stop and stare.. including Janna, who would probably regret this moment once she realize tom was a bad boy because heâs socially awkard and has anger issues. Basically heâs Kylo Ren but his redemption dosenât come straight out of JJ Abrhams ass. Tom arrives at Starâs classroom, removes his shade and damn if he dosenât have game.. but naturally showing up unnannaounced to her school (Not that TOm probably gets what school is as Mewni dosenât have those, but still), basically assuming sheâll go out with him, after they had a messy breakup it dosenât go well and we get a great cut of Star shoving tom back into his carriage.. we also get the best joke of the episode. Star: So take your invitation and your fire and your dead horse and go. Dead Horse: wait.. iâm dead? Sad but hilarious. Anyways itâs quickly conved to viewers like us that Tom has anger problems, but he insists to star heâs doing better: he has an anger managment counsler he takes with him places, Brian, voiced by the wonderful and weirdly in Disneyâs pocket these days Stephen Root, and a bunny he pets. Before star can pet said bunny Marco , KARATE CHOPS TOMâS HAND OFF.. I just.. until this review I hadnât sat back to consider just how freakishly strong that boy is , that he can just accidently chop off a hand. I mean tom may have weak joints or something but even after taking far worse blows later on his hands just.. donât come off. Tom flies itnto a rage and it becomes clear that yeah, whatever happened, it was tomâs fault, and given the kind of rage she flies into, you can see why iâd assume the writers really didnât want the audience to see him at his worst. I certainly donât. Star both worried and clearly having seen this sort of thing go bad before urges Marco to run but tom quickly recovers, both reuniting with his hand and having calmed down, and he and Marco are formally introduced, with star explaning the invite. We also get a great line with marco encouraging her âStar never go with a preadator to a second locationâ. This show was damn good at getting shit past the radar and iâm here for it. Anyways, Star isnât quite sold despite tom clearly TRYING to get better, and Tom , in a really nice move, gives her a bell and tiny hammer to summon his carriage with if she decides to go but leaves it up to her, not pressuring her or anything. For how selfish tom is initially.. this is a spark that shows hâes not a TERRIBLE person, just one who has some growing up to do. Marco however is not convinced and wants to go with, with Star teling him no because A) he wasnât invited and itâd be rude to ask and B), she appricates the concerns but she can handle this, and implicily, despite her reckless nature knows this is a risk but knows if the night turns she can handle Tom, and that maybe heâs changed. Marco insists Tom canât change.. which I find hilarious given his massive character arc to the point I had as eires ofessays planned, and one don about his growth before deciding to change formats to doing each ep of his journey instead every so often, to the point where two years on in the series timeline.. weâve gone from Marco thinking Tom is a predator to...
youtube
But star decides to go and .. itâs clear from the subtext that while part of it is clear concern for star, Marcoâs line about âit being fun here all the timeâ may mean that while he DOES have the best intentions.. part of him is jealousssssss. More on that in a bit. For now we go to the underworld with the second best gag of the episode as Tom is toning down the spookiness to please star, and one of the guys in the picture at the top insults him... and when tom asks which one he says me. We sadly donât get an answer but itâs small gags like this that made me want to do this episode by episode. Star arrives.. and things quickly go south. Tom tries giving her a corsage thatâs a live spider and she rejects it. This admitely looks bad on both as Tom , living in you know, a hell dimenson probably sees it as a sweet gesture, and Star is refusing it.. but star does so POLITELY, and for understandable reasons, and Tom is still clearly pissed about it. Not long after, they line up for whatâs essentially a prom photo.. and to get Carried by a bucket of unicorn blood, another nice little gag. Star refuses since well her best friend is a unicorn, one of them anyway, or at least itâs head.. and yes one of the species in this series multiverse is a bunch of headless unicorns. ITâs wonderful. And star also notices tom needs his anger managment bunny and is clearly pissed about it when, having dated her for several months, clearly shouldâve KNOWN this might bother her. Thatâs really tomâs problem here: He wants everything his way on his terms and only compromises if he thinks itâll get star to do things with him. Heâs made the PRETENSE of changing.. but he really dosenât WANT to yet. He just wants her back and wants to change just enough to get her back so he can stop trying again. He also may , due to the underworld being diffrent and a place where being covered in a bucket of blood is a time honored tradition instead of the thing that turns a young mutant into a mass murderer, and yes I think a carrie x-men crossover would be the shit. He probably dosenât GET that star wouldnât like a spider corasge or bathing in her best friends blood.. but the problem isnât that. thatâs culture shock, that can be bridged with some talk.. the problem is tom dosenât want to talk, he just wants her to do what he wants and things to be all cool and to get his way. Being a prince with two loving parents, weâll meet them soon enough just not this episode, and tons of servants, I get the impressionf rom this and other episodes tom simply isnât USED to not getting what he wants.Heâs not USED to being told âNoâ, and thus has no way to deal with it healthily and isntead lashes out like an angry toddler. It dosenât make his actions RIGHT but it does make them more understandable and makes it so Tomâs later growth FEELS natural depsite some of his sketchier actions beforehand.Â
Back at Marcoâs house, Marco is depressed eating nachos in a sumbrero.. which if I had corn chips, cheese and a sombrero would probably be my daily life right about now. Itâs then we get a WEIRD dropped bit, as Marco hears a weird piratey voice telling him the blood moon is the moon for lovers and stuff. This is IMPLIED to be his monster arm, from an earlier episode.. but itâs.. never explained. Whatever it was going to be was dropped. Which would be fine if the blood moon itself and the end of this episode didnât get a full explination in season 4 with the writers clearly going back to it to resolve the dangling thread.. but still not explaning the spooky voice. I mean what was it? Marcoâs pirate ancestor? the sea captain from the simpsons? the monster arm? terry that bastard? Burt Macklin FBI? Old Man Withers the guy who runs the amusment park? Dirk Dastardely? A sentient payphone? The alps? Tell us damn you! Okay that tangent aside Marco decides to party crash at the advice of the ominous voice.. seriously is it Flintheart Glomgold? Nevermind. Back at the ball star is bonding with a small skeletal fish int he magma punch whent his random asshole comes up and whines for a good minute,if hilariously so, about the ball being changed.
Heâs feels, looks and acts like the combination of those morons who were mad adora wasnât âas hotâ in the she ra reboot and was aged down to a teenager and the threw it on the ground guy. After that interlude, tom shoos away a guy asking star to dance and the guy makes vauge comments about tom wanting his and starâs souls to be link while making kissy nosies. Before Tom can explain what he means by that, or at least lie about what he means by that, the blood moon is about the drop, the lights turn red and tom walks off because he wants the music to be perfect. And then Marco arrives in his really damn cool calevara outfit. Which fair play, I can see why, besides ship reasons, it gets a lot of art: it looks really damn neat. Speaking of shipping.. itâs time. Star, not realizing itâs marco, dances with him.. quite romantically in fact. Itâs here that the show conciously starts Shipping star and marco together. Starco is born, and the scnee is really good: romantic, well animated, jsut great all around. While the ship would .. end up done rather poorly and lead to some really terrible stuff at the time.. it wasnât abd and already shipping them I loved this and even now, even knowing what woudl come later... itâs not a bad sequence. The only bad thing is what would come later, but I canât fault the writers of THIS EP for what they would do in a LATER ONE. Thatâs just not fair. The ship wasnât bad to start and the later arc springing from it in season 2 would be good.. it just quickly went in bad directions as the series went on , then disappeared, then how it finallyc ame about was just awful. But as much as I want to.. I canât blame the sequence on this. It didnât create rabid shippers or poor writing, it was just good and deserves to be praised as such. Naturally tom takes this about as well as me when I found out HBO max wouldnât be on roku at launch and prepares to murder Marco.. and promptly gets frozen by star who decides to wisely get out of there. Itâs a ncie moment.. and reminder that Star is crazy powerful, as is the wand itself, because as weâll see later, tom is no slouch himself in the power department, but even if her attack was from behind, she still stopped him in one move. So Star takes marco home and dresses him down for sneaking in, understandbly so: while it was an iffy situation, Star knew who she was dealing with and as shown at the end, was strong enough that tom was no threat to her, and given what we learn later, Tomâs parents would likely never let her come to real harm. For all her reckless decision making, Star thought this one out and Marco shoudlâve repsectied that and didnât for his own reasons. To his credit though he apologizes, Star admits to liking the dance, then the two speak in unison a few times, and we wontâ get followup on that till the last season! Roll credits. I donât have the credits for this episode so enjoy this instead:
youtube
Final Thoughts: Blood Moon Ball is a spectacular ep. A good plot, a great introduction for tom, and great animation and humor really make the episode pop and itâs nice to get our first look at the underworld and tom himself. Tom would be back, and iâll be back to tom eventually, but on itâs own the episode is really good and itâs standout sequence still holds up even as starco ended up in the sewer quality wise. All in all a great ep and a great starting point if you havenât watched the show yet. Coming Soon: A return to Star in the near future probably since Tom is great and his second ep deserves love too, as do several other star eps, as well as a look at the saluna episodes of the loud house because iâm in a gay mood for obvious reasons, and a loud house mood for less obvious reasons. Until then, feel free to hit me up with asks with suggestions or commisosns for future reviews, and until next time, later days.Â

DE:CODE IS LIVE: HAPPY MILO DAY! đ JULY 17TH, 2020 â˘Â 43 MINUTES
he isnât sure whatâs worse â the nagging guilt and greed that both a fanmeeting and a vlive for a forgettable recently-debuted idol is far too much, or the small yet persistent voice in the back of his head that tells him no one will show up, that anyone who does is just waiting for him to do something stupid. the little live icon mocks him as he shuffles in his seat, leans in closer to see the details of the livestream. the viewer count jumps from zero, to a hundred and beyond, but what heâs most concerned about is the speed the comments move and how small they are. he retreats, resting his back straight against the back of the chair and pulling the sleeves of his jumper down over his palms before he waves.
âhello,â he greets, quiet and shy. his cheeks are a soft pink and itâs likely the tips of his ears are, too, though conveniently hidden by his overgrowing, curled hair. âIâm de:codeâs milo. ah, force of habit. my name is in the live title, right?â his laugh is airy. âitâs my birthday today.â he continues, letting the any and every thought that comes to mind roll off his tongue. âthank you for all the well wishes! I saw some of the comments on social mediaâ well, I saw lots of cake emojis. this is the first year I havenât gotten to eat mumâs cake on my birthday. mingâ magnusâ mum always bakes each of us a cake on our birthdays, but I was so busy today that I couldnât go home.â he sits forward once more to read what he can of the fast-paced comments. âoh! donât worry, donât worry. weâre going home over the weekend to see his parents, so weâll have cake then! Iâll bring slices home to the dorms for all the members.âÂ
he pauses to read again, clearly struggling even when he moves closer. heâs long-sighted, but the font is so small that itâs hard to see regardless. âdid the members get me anything?â he reads with a tilt of the head. growing up, won rarely received presents on his birthdays. sometimes heâd get a little cash from his parents, or a hand-me-down, until he met mingyu and thus began the traditions of spending as much of the day with the kims as possible. though he still doesnât think too much of material gifts, he cherishes the thought each of them have always put into choosing something for him â either for its sentimental value, love and effort put into creating them, or relevancy to his interests. he chuckles to himself as he remembers the time mingyu bought him two bottles of coca-cola knowing he had been craving it but unable to afford any. âso far, a.câs gift is top of the ranking. when I woke up for practice this morning, he gave me the biggest hug before I could even make it to the bathroom to start getting ready. I think itâs going to be tough to beat cute cuddles from our youngest.â he teases, concentrating so hard on reading once again that his phone vibrating on the table just out of frame startles him.Â
he glances down to check, unable to hold back a grin. his eyes trail back to the camera, lips pursed, then to his phone as he picks it up. âmagnus just texted me. heâs watching from the dorms; everyone say hi!â he waves. âheâs nagging me. heâs telling me to put my glasses on, but I donât have them with me...â a pout tugs at his bottom lip. âIâm long-sighted!â he answers when he spots the question before it scrolls off screen. âah, he text again. he asked me where they are. ah... I think I left them on the bedside table. itâs fine, though! I can manage; I can see! I always take them off to sleep so they donât get brokenâ but then I forgot to pick them up before I left earlier. this is my tmi for the day.â he laughs, leaning forward again. a few notes about wanting something more interesting for his tmi catching his eye. honestly, he isnât really sure what constitutes a tmi in the first place â heâd just heard it around on other idolsâ vlives and broadcasts. still reading, he hums to the beat of another buzz of his phone. âah, heâs good to me. magnus is coming to deliver them!â he sucks in a deep breath, resting his chin against the palm of his hand, his elbow propped on the table.Â
âoppa, why do you look so good? hyung, what should i eat to look like you?â he reads, chuckling loudly until his nose starts to crinkle. âcheetos.â he answers simply, still eyeing the comments. âtheyâre my favourite snack. I would always try to save up my allowance and treat myself to a bag when I could.â more messages flood in about which flavours, about other snacks he enjoys and what his favourite food is, but won catches one about his voice that makes his cheeks flush so bright that he instinctively leans back in the hopes that it becomes less noticeable. âto the person who said they loved my voice and that it was one of their favourites, thank you! thatâs an honour... just in de:code, we have so many talented vocalists. Iâm happy that you enjoy my singing. or is it my talking voice?â he all but giggles. âIâve been told since my early teens that I have a really deep voice. I might get in trouble with him for telling you this but I always thought it was just in comparison to mingyu â his voice dropped after mine even though heâs a little older. I thought my voice canât be that deep, but it really was all that time.â he hums, noticing a surprised question. âmhmm! I used to be taller, but now mingyu has a few centimetres on me. a lot of the de:code members are either very tall or very short. even though Iâm tall, almost everyone around me my whole life has been taller than me. mingyuâs step dad is taller than me, too. Iâm not tall enough! I want a couple more centimetres but I think itâs too late for me now...â he pouts once more, but it doesnât last long. âdid it hurt when you fell from the sky? did it hurt when you did?â his counter is embarrassing but heâd have had that same red tint to his cheeks either way so why not?Â
i entered for the chance to come to your birthday fanmeeting but i didn't get chosen ): but i am glad you are doing a vlive and that i can still see you on your birthday. i hope that you've had a very enjoyable day, milo, i love you đ happy birthday!!Â
âah, that comment disappeared before I could read it out loud, but I saw it! thank you! Iâm sorry there wasnât a chance for you to come to the fanmeeting; Iâm glad I could do a vlive for anyone who couldnât make it. I was really surprised, actually. I was... kind of worried no one would come.â he laughs now, but he almost hadnât slept last night stressing about it. perhaps it still hasnât quite sunk in yet that heâs really an idol â in one of the top five companies, no less. âyou can thank magnus when he gets here for persuading me to do both the fanmeeting and this vlive. I really wanted to do the vlive especially, but I was worried I wouldnât be very entertaining. are you having fun?â his grin is probably a little too hopeful, but his viewers at least humour him. âyou are? thatâs a relief. but... should we listen to the music? what songs are everyone listening to lately? Iâve been listening to âlove is the wayâ by red velvet a lot.â he begins to sing a little as he scrolls through the music player on his phone, periodically glancing back up to catch a few comments.Â
however, he squeaks when the door to the practice room clicks open suddenly.Â
âah, my knight in shining armour!â heâs all sparkling eyes and wide grins as he looks at mingyu off camera, arms raising to grabby hands at the glasses case in his boyfriendâs hands. âmy glasses! oh, how Iâve missed you.â it takes an embarrassing amount of force to prize open the case as mingyu busies himself taking off his jacket. he pushes the frame up his nose, blinks a few times to adjust to the change. âthatâs so much better. gyu, come sit with me.â he pats the chair beside him heâd saved just in case anyone popped in. he suspects seonho will bounce in later ( literally ), though he had hoped mingyu would come to lend him a hand soon after he started, too. said jacket is draped over the back of wonâs chair, though he doesnât realise until he feels the weight of the fabric brush his arms. he barely has chance to turn around before mingyuâs arms hang around his shoulders, pulling him back towards his chest. they sway, left to right to left to right, to the rhythm of mingyuâs gentle âhappy birthday to youâ, wonâs grin growing to crinkle not only the bridge of his nose but the corners of his eyes, too. heâs still in a daze when he gets a birthday kiss to the cheek, mingyu finally taking his seat.Â
âhello!âÂ
dumbly, won replies, âhi,â then realises, âoh, you werenât talking to meâ thatâs embarrassing. a-anyway, what were we talking about? oh! songs. what songs youâre listening to lately. what have you been listening to, gyu? ah, I donât think all of you have been listening to gorilla twenty-four-seven. you can tell us the truth, you know, we wonât tell anyone! itâll be our little secret. shh.â once mingyuâs settled, he answers.
"if you have been listening to gorilla twenty-four-seven, though, I would like to personally thank you... but also encourage you to take a break to listen to to you 2020 by teen top and o sole mio by per_se." won hums in agreement, turning back to the comments.Â
âsomeone else just said o sole mio, too.â he tries to point it out, but the message is long gone before he can even raise a finger. âyou guys are so fast... thereâs so many of you here.â thereâs wonder in his voice, disbelief at the numbers displayed in the top left. are that many people really watching him sit around? and sending him that many hearts? he almost feels like crying. âIâm really bad with technology.â he admits, trying unsuccessfully to scroll back to some older messages before mingyu gently nudges his hand aside to take over. âour manager had to set up the live for me. he asked me what emojis I wanted in the title and I didnât even know what to answer. I only know like, five emojis, and the cake one just makes me hungry.â he hums, patting his stomach once, then again for good measure. âwhat I mean is if I donât see your comment, itâs probably a combination of bad eyesight and the speed the little feed moves, please donât feel disheartened! keep sending it if I havenât answered! w-wait, will they get banned for that? is it spam? word it differently each time!â he advises, though truthfully, he has no idea how it works.Â
eventually, he spots one he feels he has to address, even if he isnât too sure how best to answer it. âdo I have any tips for someone that wants to be an idol...â he reads. âI know it probably feels a little like a boring answer and a given, but hard work absolutely pays off. also, if you donât pass an audition, it does not mean you didnât work hard or arenât talented; thereâs so much more to it than that. the casting agents might be looking for something specific for a group already planned out, for example.â for a moment, he pauses, purses his lips as he tries to piece together the words heâs looking for. âI think you should always be yourself and make yourself proud. your time will come; the agent or company that sees your worth and potential is the one you want to work with, anyway, right? practice as much as you can, but practice healthily and enjoy it. if youâre not having fun, take a break. itâs important to pace yourself and be good to yourself. there were times before I went on the mgas where I didnât dance for weeks because I wasnât in the right head space, but when I came back to it, I wanted to put more into it because I enjoyed it again and missed it. donât build a bad relationship with performing. do it because you love it. a-ah, I think I got a little off topic there. do you have anything to add, gyu?â he smiles at his boyfriend as he begins to speak.Â
âhm? oh... yeah! don't give up. I know that's probably irritating to hear after a while of trying as hard as you can, but I know how easy it can be to get disheartened. if it's really what you want, you can take a break if it'll help, but get back up and keep fighting for it. sometimes, doubt will make you think that it's pointless and that you should settle for something more ârealisticâ, and other people might urge you to, too, but don't listen to any of that. if you know in your heart that you can do it and it's truly what you want, don't let anyone or anything beat that dream out of you. you can do it!âÂ
for a little while, they continue to answer questions he spots in the comments â ones they realistically can answer, anyway. too many people are asking about a comeback or upcoming plans and heâs almost certain they arenât allowed to even hint at anything or face their companyâs wrath. between telling everyone for the tenth time that he rooms with seonho and mingyu, his curiosity gets the better of him as he eyes the bag mingyu brought with him.Â
âwhat else did you bring?â subtlety hasnât really ever been his forte. âyou brought a whole bag with you just for my glasses?â his voice has dropped to a mumble, but itâs likely viewers can still hear him. the stream is the furthest from his mind as mingyu smiles and reaches for said bag, dragging it closer and as his hand delves inside, wonâs neck cranes to see.Â
âstop trying to peek, it's supposed to be a surprise!â won huffs as mingyu laughs fondly. âI brought you a birthday snack, too, in case you were hungry. you're welcome.âÂ
he should be embarrassed by the gasp that parts his lips but at the sight of cheetos ( and other snacks, but cheetos! ), his image is long forgotten. âah, kim mingyu... once again my knight in shining armour.â he teases, fingers itching to tear open the top of the packet. âI havenât had cheetos in a long time even though theyâre my favourite.â he tells the camera. âI know earlier I said that to look like me you have to eat cheetos and thatâs true, but I donât know if any of you watched us on the mgas in season four but... I was very small. my height hasnât changed; Iâve long since stopped growing.â he pouts shortly. âbut I was very thin. I started working out with mingyu when we signed to royal and eventually some of the other trainees when I got more confident. these days I could bench press mingyu! Iâm telling you! I had to stop eating cheetos, though, so you have to let me know if it was worth it; do I look good?â briefly, and embarrassingly, he flexes one arm, losing what little cool he had at mingyuâs over-dramatic âwoah!â and amused chuckle. âa-ah, n-no, donât ask me to prove it. you just have to trust me!â he giggles, finally popping the first cheese puff into his mouth.Â
âI want to play a game, but I donât know what we can play with everyone. someone suggested we watch videos of ourselves on youtube, but I donât think Iâm quite used to seeing my own face in public yet.â his laugh is gentle and his cheeks pink. âmaybe next time. leave suggestions in the comments and weâll prepare something next tiââÂ
his squeak gets caught in his throat when the door flies open, mingyuâs hand patting his back to help him catch his breath again. seonhoâs bouncing over in all his glory, a shit-eating grin on his cute face. his arms wrap around his shoulders as mingyuâs had not too long ago and won canât help but smile. âanother very special guest.â the comments explode, âmaknae on topâ filling the screen and wonâs nose wrinkles in another laugh. he pulls mingyuâs chair closer and nudges his boyfriend to the side so that the three of them can fit across two seats, seonho settling in beside him to respond to comments with them. periodically, he offers the two cheetos, watching secretly with a hungry stomach as their hands dip into the bag.Â
he doesnât realise quite how long theyâve been live until someone says they have to go to bed to get up early in the morning. his eyes widen at the forty minute timer on the display and with a small content sigh, he turns to each of the boys beside him. âI think itâs about time we rounded this live off, right? itâs getting late and everyone should be getting plenty of rest.â with waves and a chorus of âbye!âs and âsleep well!âs, mingyu and seonho are out of frame for won to say his final goodbye for the night.Â
he clears his throat, leaning in a little closer and adjusting his glasses on the bridge of his nose. âeveryone, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for coming to spend my birthday with me, whether you came for five or forty minutes.â his smile is gentler than it has been the entire stream, his teeth just starting to show. honestly, he never believed today would go so well and heâs relieved that mingyu was able to persuade him to do it at all. he had been stubborn, stuck in his insecurities and worries, but he felt good now â like floating on a cloud high above the sky on a fair, lightly breezy day. âIâm so grateful for every second we spent together. Iâve had some really strange birthdays over the years,â he chuckles, âbut this is definitely one Iâll never forget. itâs been an incredibly happy day; I hope youâve all had just as wonderful of a time whatever it is youâve been doing. plus, itâs friday! the weekend starts now, huh?â he purses his lips, then hums. âmake sure to get lots of rest and stay healthy so we can keep meeting like this, okay? thank you again. goodnight, everyone! thank you for all the birthday wishes! bye bye!â he waves and waves for a good thirty seconds as the comments roll in to say goodnight in return. âa-ah, guysâ how do I end it?â with a pair of laughs off camera, the live cuts off.Â
