Just got home from work and now I'm crying because I was able to sing Northern Downpour in key
I've been on testosterone for 5 years! My voice changed a long time ago!
I don't know why I'm crying over it now!!

Girl, testosterone makes your vagina desert dry when it should be ALWAYS wet and well moisturized by the right amount of hormones. There's a reason why every gynecologist says to not clean your interior, bc it will fuck up its hp. Imagine what a ride it is to have it always dry and prone to every infection. (I didn't know this until last week btw, things you learn)
The human body's response to HRT is actually admirable in the sheer indifference. Just pure I Don't Give A Shit, I Just Fucking Work Here compliance to the new instructions. You can get testosterone injected straight into your body and it doesn't even question where that shit came from, coming back from a coffee break and just going
"Okay, everything seems to be in ord- oh fuck now what? Oh huh. Alright fine. New orders came in, cancel the menstrual cycle. Dig up the genetic balding patterns from somewhere, I don't fucking know they're buried somewhere in the dna. I'm greenlighting the growing-hair-on-your-toes thing. Yeah just cancel the ongoing maintenance processes, new orders came in so this is apparently what we're doing now."

what they dont tell you is that even if you dont want to be a guy, you can try testosterone any ways, if you would like cute handsome tomboyish or androgynous features. even if you are a cis butch lesbian or completely unaligned nonbinary person you might like it. just do the research first naturally yknow? like a lot of research so you dont flip out on trans people if you end up not being a fan lol

An alt version of my Thad and Lizzy doodle lmao
I headcanon them as ftm and mtf respectively, and I adore these two more than I ever expected to.

No one warns trans boys about anything fr. Voice dropping? Hurts like hell and you sound dorky (affectionate and passes quickly dw). Leg hair in skinny jeans makes your legs feel numb after a while. Bottom growth too big so you have to choose which side of the seam it goes on, but so small itll break rank and shoot pain so bad youll see god into your stomach everytime you step wrong (also passes and is not permanent. And funny.)
Trans men and transmascs please share the things no one warned you about transitioning is so sexy and fun

do you ever think about how the mainstream transphobic talking points about trans women are how they're imposing their gender on other people (bathroom bills, sports bans, age old jokes about them tricking men, etc) and meanwhile whenever trans men come up it's about how their gender is being imposed on them (ie. caterwauling about detransitioning and puberty blockers and 'confused tomboys'). its probably just being grandfathered in from patriarchal viewpoints of gender but it's remarkably consistent. i don't think i've ever seen anyone concerned about trans men 'invading' mens spaces except in like. niche gay sex clubs. and even then those clubs can be more trans positive than your average womens public bathroom.

any trans person should get HRT for free (no insurance required) and in exchange they should participate in the occasional study/survey.
research into sex hormones and their effects is so scarce and you have a whole ass population group who's willing to not only switch up their hormones but keep it up for very long periods of time. you could run some incredible long term studies with participants across all sorts of demographics.
while it's impossible to conduct any blind studies on this due to observable change in appearance, there's still so so so much data we're giving up on because we'd rather...
lemme check my notes. that cant be right.
...because we'd rather deny trans people health care and let them die. huh.

i think we also need to address the elephant in the room that yes, there are people who seek gender affirming care who later realize they are cis- but that a vast majority of people who are detransitioning do so out of social pressure. whether its familial, spousal, work, school, sports, politics, resources, etc; any trans person you ask can probably explain to you in detail what exact precipice would make them detransition, or at least understand someone else doing so. its fucking hard and its fucking scary being trans in this country- not just recently, but continually. it really can be beaten out of you. not being trans, but any ability you have to pursue recognition for being trans. how many of that 1% of people decided they were cis, and how many of them decided they just werent strong enough to be out?

So I've been on testosterone for 3+ years and, while others experiences may vary, I actually feel more in touch with my emotions than previously. I think this is a result of my mental health improving in general, as most of my depression symptoms got a lot better, especially post top surgery. (Anxiety is still here though, lol)
I admittedly don't cry as easily as I used to, yet I still feel the same happiness or sadness just as deeply. The only difference is the physical tears. And I am still fully able to cry.

I wish I could tell every young person with a uterus (especially with bad cramps and/or dysphoria and/or depression, etc) that there is a decent chance they just straight up don’t need to live with that. don’t let the stigma surrounding contraceptives and the expectation that you should just ride it out and suffer win. for the love of god if there’s a chance you can lighten or even stop your period and it’s symptoms all-together, unless there’s a legit health concern, your doctor should at least make you aware of that option. I want every young person to know that “birth control” is not just for birth control and it has the potential to make your life infinitely easier to live. do not give in to anti-pill propaganda im serious
#kibumblabs#I remember being in late high school and my doctor suggesting it because of how terrible my dysphoria/related depressive episodes related to#menstrual cycle shit is. and like. im not saying it was a flawless transition but good god im serious it changed my fucking life#not to the extent testosterone would but it was still like. a Big Deal#because I was like. what the fuck. I’ve been suffering through this shit for years. and no one told me this was a thing? we’re all just#expected to suffer? because it’s ‘Normal’????#this whole time I could just. turn the bleeding off. or at least Down. turn off the debilitating breast soreness and swelling. etc.#anyway im not sure why im thinking about this but#i guess every time i hear someone (without any known health issues that’d interfere) like ah time for my monthly Week Of Pain And Misery#i want to shake them by the shoulders like. YOU DONT NEED TO LIVE LIKE THIS. PLEASE I JUST WANT YOU TO BE AWARE OF THIS.#and yes i know it doesn’t work for everyone or sometimes there’s side effects that make it not worth it or what have you#but for a huge huge huge amount of people. they just don’t know it’s an option. because it’s labelled Birth Control. and because there’s#this long-standing quiet fear mongering about it that makes it seem more dangerous and sinister and promiscuous than it is#similar in a lot of ways to other stigmatized hormone treatments. like. well. you know#doesn’t help that when you first get your prescription it comes with the worlds biggest list of Potential Issues (most of which are either#minor temporary or unlikely)#grahhghhhhhhhhh anyway. on a seperate but related note shout out to my fellow tboys who either didn’t have their periods totally stop on t#or (like in my case) they came back after like Years for whatever reason and that had to be dealt with via supplementary contraceptives#cw menstruation
