let the bob-off commence!
submissions are closed, and we are ready to start round 1!
a few things to be aware of...
78 bobs have been submitted to the tournament, and the first round will consist of 39 matches
each matchup has been decided at random (some of them have put my beloved bob blorbos in dire situations but. we move) by a random name generator - I haven't selected the match-ups myself
each match will last for a week, and I will post two matches a day
you can still send bobaganda (bob propaganda) when the tournament is underway! stick up for your bob blorbos! each poll has a section for bobaganda, and if one of your faves' has been left empty, please help me out by sending some my way! you can even submit reasons that your faves bob should win if they already have bobaganda attached - you can never show too much love to your favourite bob!
enjoy the tournament, and bob speed to you all...
[underneath the cut, I have included the complete list of bob entries - tournament spoilers ahead!]

“Why don’t y’all go play with those li’l figures out there.” Gabriel’s Wannabees, Mattel’s Hub Bubs, and Kenner’s Strawberry Shortcake … Gen X vintage toys
Me. Scenes from a crazy room – judgment free zone. In this pandemic, and honestly with the loss of my mom, I have felt increasingly nostalgic. I suppose some of us silly humans are plagued with an instinct to gather up trivial objects in an effort to nest during difficult times. Tigger and Bo (or maybe Doodle) and little Roy There were three toy lines when I was a child that I knew at the time…

Cooke Family
Tumblr media
I’m back with my backwards legacy families and next in line are the Cooke’s. Julien married my 7th generation sim Edna Duncan, when they married she already had a daughter named Lise Duncan who is now at uni. After that she had Loretta, Nathan and Dustin with Julien.
Tumblr media
This week in the Cooke household......
Tumblr media
Julien gets struck by lightning, a rare occurance in my game for sure!
Tumblr media
Maxx becomes an adult dog
Tumblr media
Loretta leaves for Uni
Tumblr media
And Dustin grows up to a teen. If you noticed in the family picture the skin on his head and body was mismatched, yes it was and I tried everything to fix it but failed. Luckily the problem did not persist into his teen years.
He grew up with a family aspiration and he is an average achiever. He dreams of meeting a nice guy with facial hair and face makeup but who does not wear jewelry.

Masonry Monday: The Case of the Sleepwalker’s Niece
A man apparently terrorizes his wife while sleepwalking. When his stepbrother is killed in bed, the police believe those nightly jaunts were a cover for murderous intent.
Tumblr media
Who’s Who
Perry Mason’s client: Peter Cole, a rich businessman divorcing his wife, whom he menaced while sleepwalking
The victim: Philip Kendall, Cole’s stepbrother, who also owns a share in his company
Suspects: Doris Cole, Peter’s estranged wife, who accuses him of trying to kill her using sleepwalking as a cover Frank Maddox, Peter’s business partner and Doris’s lover, who conspires with her in a blackmail scheme Lucille Mays, Peter’s new girlfriend who has waited 15 years for his marriage to dissolve Ralph Duncan, Maddox’s lawyer, who attempts to execute his blackmail scheme Edna Hammar, Peter’s niece and secretary, who believes strongly in his innocence, but is set to inherit his fortune Steve Harris, Edna’s poor boyfriend, who recommends Perry Mason
The Setup
Tumblr media
It’s the middle of the night in a ranch house, and a man in pajamas with a knife in his hand is walking around in the darkness. He enters a bedroom where a woman lays sleeping. She wakes, sees him, and immediately starts screaming. Other members of the household arrive: The man, Peter Cole, is woken by his niece, Edna Hammar, as he was apparently walking in his sleep. The woman is his wife, Doris, who sobs that he’s faking and trying to kill her. Peter looks down at the knife in his hand.
Sometime later, Doris is living in her own apartment when she receives a visitor: Frank Maddox, her husband’s business partner. She asks the reason for the visit, and he points out that her divorce from Peter Cole will be finalized the next day -- she moved out of the house the day after the sleepwalking incident. He proposes a way she can make a lot of money, starting with $100,000 by holding off of the divorce. She is, of course, interested . . . in both the money and Maddox.
Cole is happily planning his honeymoon with his girlfriend, Lucille Mays. His stepbrother and other business partner, Philip Kendall, enters the room and says Maddox has arrived with another man. The other man is a lawyer named Ralph Duncan. After ushering Lucille out, Duncan lays out Maddox’s offer: They pay him $500,000 for his share in the company, much more than it’s worth, or Doris will stop the divorce from going through. Edna is furious at the proposed blackmail, and runs into the hallway. When her boyfriend, Steve, arrives, she asks him what lawyer he’d call for help...
Enter Perry Mason, Attorney at Law
Edna and Pete tell Perry Mason all about the problem, and ask him if Doris can really stop the divorce. She can, if she can claim to have been defrauded during the initial filing. Since the divorce will be finalized the next day, they don’t have much time. Mason tells them to invite Maddox and his lawyer out to the Cole ranch later that night and stall until he (Mason) gets there. When they leave, he calls in his clerk, Jackson, and asks him to look into the divorce case in Santa Barbara.
Tumblr media
Later that night, at the Cole ranch, Duncan and Mason are both digging their heels in. They finally agree to come to a decision by nine the next morning, and, to save time, Maddox and Duncan will stay over at the ranch house. In private, Perry tells Peter this is to keep an eye on them, and that there’s a loophole: Peter himself can apply for the final decree, and he and Lucille will fly to Las Vegas immediately afterwards to get married. Perry will write up the final decree and Jackson will file it. Steve volunteers to run the paperwork up to Jackson in Santa Barbara, and Perry asks him to help a private eye keep tabs on Doris while he’s up there. Steve says he can watch her himself, and Perry gives him instructions on what to do.
Later that night, Edna is waiting up for a call from Steve in Santa Barbara. When she walks into the hallway, she sees Maddox walking out of Philip’s room, thanking him. As he passes her, he says he and Kendall are switching rooms so that he (Maddox) can have the bigger bed. He bids her goodnight as she glares suspiciously at him. At 11pm, Maddox sneaks out and calls Doris from a phone booth to update her on the situation, and says he’ll call her in the morning after they get a final decision from Cole and Mason. Meanwhile, someone sneaks into the dining room and removes a carving knife from the sideboard.
The Case
The next morning, Perry arrives back at the Cole ranch house. Lt. Tragg responds to his knock at the door, and takes him back to one of the bedrooms. The body under the sheet on the bed is Philip Kendall, who was sleeping in the guest room. Tragg produces the carving knife, and says Kendall was stabbed with it through the sheets. He demands to speak to Perry further. Meanwhile, a deputy keeps Maddox and Duncan out of the den, as Maddox fusses over missing his scheduled call with Doris.
A tearful Edna tells Tragg that the knife -- which was found under Cole’s pillow -- was kept in the dining room. Mason tries to tell Tragg not to press her, as she’s clearly upset. When Edna explains about the room swap, Tragg naturally assumes whoever killed Kendall was going for Maddox. He asks Edna if she told Cole about the room swap, and she says she didn’t. Tragg also asks about the sleepwalking, and where Cole is. Mason just tells him Cole is on an unrelated trip and promises to produce him by the next day.
Tumblr media
Back at the office, Paul arrives with his expense report, and offers news on the case. Maddox was once convicted of swindling someone in San Francisco, but his lawyer, Ralph Duncan, got him out with a loophole. Perry says it’s irrelevant. Paul also suggests Perry could play up the sleepwalking, as he can’t be accused of acting with malice aforethought. Della says Cole and Lucille still haven’t checked into the hotel in Las Vegas. At that point Jackson calls -- he’s with Steve, who has news: Doris Cole got a call at 3 am from someone she called “Duncan.”
Perry asks Steve and Jackson to return to the office, where Steve goes into more detail. He wrote down the details of the call, where Doris responded to “Duncan” and mentioned a few other details before hanging up. Perry is still concerned that they haven’t heard from Cole, and tells Paul to send a man to wait for the two lovebirds at the Las Vegas airport. He also tells Della to charter a plane for himself. At McCarran Field in Las Vegas, Cole and Lucille are detained by Paul’s man, who can’t give them details. Lucille offers to go along to the hotel with the luggage while he waits.
When Perry arrives, Cole explains that they went shopping before their flight, hence the delay. He tells Cole what’s happened, and asks whether he killed Philip. Cole says he’s honestly not sure, given his history of sleepwalking. Tragg arrives with the Las Vegas police, and arrests Cole on suspicion of murder. When Mason protests that a sleepwalker can’t be held responsible, Tragg drops another new piece of evidence: Maddox saw Cole with the knife on the night of the murder, wide awake.
Perry arrives back at the office, exhausted, but immediately heads out again when Della says Doris Cole wants to meet. In her hotel room, Doris denies having spoken to Duncan, and says she only knew Maddox slightly. She tries to subtly blackmail Mason by implying she’ll say something ruinous on the stand, but he doesn’t bite, instead telling her he’ll ask about the phone call she received from Ralph Duncan. He also convinces her to settle to finalize the divorce.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Steve arrives at Tragg’s office, and he attempts to make small talk with the young man, asking him about the fights. Steve wants to know what he’s really been called in for. Tragg tells him that Edna’s fingerprints were on the murder weapon, and implies that someone saw Edna handling the knife that night. Steve immediately says that’s not true -- the knife was gone before he left at 10. Given that this was before Cole went to bed, it would indicate the murder was premeditated. Realizing he’s been cornered, Steve runs out.
The Trial
At the trial -- which has a jury this time -- Burger asks Maddox about seeing Peter Cole walking. On cross-examination, Mason asks why he didn’t do anything when he saw Cole with a knife, as, sleepwalking or not, he must have thought Cole was dangerous. But no, Maddox didn’t alarm the household. He also asks Maddox about the phone call he made to Doris Cole that night.
Burger next questions Duncan, who establishes the room arrangements. On cross, Mason asks him about his adherence to the lawyerly code of ethics, and if he thinks lawyers should help clients attempting to swindle others. Duncan looks to Burger to object. Burger does not. Mason asks Duncan about the blackmail, but Duncan maintains the deal and the divorce were separate. Mason asks him directly if he ever spoke with Mrs. Cole, and Duncan denies it point blank. Perry quickly murmurs something to Paul, who leaves the courtroom.
Next, Burger calls Steve to the stand. Steve is a hostile witness, and Burger asks him leading questions about his relationship with Edna Hammar. He then asks him about the carving knife on the sideboard. Steve tries to avoid the question, but says the knife wasn’t there before he left for Mrs. Cole’s. On cross, Perry asks Steve if someone could have put the knife under Cole’s pillow the next morning, before the police arrived. Steve says they could. Perry then asks about the phone call, which Steve recounts.
Tumblr media
Then, before the trial can go on, Perry raises one interesting point: Everyone knows who Edna did not tell about the room swap. They haven’t asked her who she did tell...
Final Report
This is a much better starting point for Perry Mason neophytes than the previous case, if I’m being honest. We get to actually meet the victim, and we get a little more time with each of the suspects. This makes it infinitely easier to follow the mystery. We also see the beginnings of several of the usual Perry Mason staples, including the offices of Della Street, Paul’s expert resourcefulness, and the Mason cross-examination.
That last one can’t be emphasized enough: Whereas last episode, the guilty party outed themself with a stupid mistake on the stand when Perry already had them dead to rights, here he traps them into giving their game away under oath. It’s very impressive to watch, especially since Mason accuses the murderer almost without fanfare. It takes you a while, but eventually you catch on to what he’s doing just as he lays out a case for why they killed the victim. Perry even gets a bit emotional while doing so, which is not common for him.
The expansion of Paul’s and Della’s involvement also helps, as it gives Perry a strong support system and people off of whom he can bounce thoughts and ideas. The addition of Jackson is a bit baffling -- he appears just once and never again, but he’s a minor character in the books. I think him being here is proof that the office works best with the three core characters doing most of the work, though minor characters will pop in and out of the “Jackson” role occasionally.
Tumblr media
Tragg also gets a bit more screentime this episode. He’s much less hostile to Mason than he was last episode, but no less smug when delivering evidence Mason does not yet have. We get a scene in his office this time, where he uses some rather underhanded techniques to get Steve to cop to what he witnesses. Playing a smug cop would be such an easy thing to mess up, and I think only Ray Collins could play this role and look puckish and sly while doing it.
This particular mystery has some interesting facets to it. There are a number of great suspects, and everyone gives the impression of having interior lives and hidden motives. The mystery is also fairly complicated, as it begins with a divorce and blackmail scheme that eventually escalates to murder. And then there’s the added wrinkle of the sleepwalking -- even Perry’s client is afraid that he did commit the murder and just doesn’t remember.
It’s actually quite rare, to my knowledge, that Perry has a client whose response to the question “Did you kill the victim?” is an honest “I don’t know.” It’s not paid very much attention to, but Cole does mention how terrifying it is to know there’s a chance he could have done something while sleepwalking and he wouldn’t have any memory of it. Of course, no one, not even Perry, seems to seriously consider that as a possibility, but it’s still a scary thought all the same.
On that note, this episode also has one of my favorite setups for a murder mystery: The alleged mistaken identity. This is going to qualify as a little bit of a spoiler for the ending, but I enjoy stories where the presumption is that the murderer mistook the victim for someone else, only for it to later be revealed that they knew exactly who they were killing. I’m not sure if it still qualifies as a twist at this point, but it’s still possible to do it right, so that’s it’s still a surprise at the end. I think this episode manages it.
Tumblr media
As for legalities, this episode is also unusual in that it features a jury in the final trial. As I’ve said before, that’s not common in these cases: Usually the “trial” is just a preliminary hearing, but in this case we see Burger make an opening statement to the jury. Oh, and a side note about Burger: I appreciate that we get a glimpse in this episode that, while he’s Mason’s legal sparring partner, they are ultimately on the same side and want only for the truth to be revealed and justice to be done.
There are some parts of the mystery that don’t make sense or are not explained to my satisfaction. For starters, how is Perry Mason, a criminal defense attorney, able to intervene on a divorce case? It’s not uncommon for Perry to get involved in a case before a murder has occurred, but this isn’t even a criminal matter, unless you count the blackmail. I’m not complaining, necessarily, but it’s just amusing to me that Perry Mason is basically a legal wizard on the show, capable of handling anything even remotely legal that might arise.
Also, with regards to the suspects, why exactly does everyone say Lucille has waited 15 years to marry Peter Cole? Maybe I’m missing the obvious here, but are they implying Lucille is his mistress, and he’s waited that long to divorce his wife for her? And everyone’s just... okay with this? I mean, Doris Cole isn’t exactly the picture of fidelity herself, but before Maddox involves her in his scheme, she seems to be guilty only of not wanting her husband to menace her with a knife.
The Verdict
Judgement: ⚖⚖⚖ (three scales out of four) This complicated case of inheritance and blackmail makes for one of the better early cases of the series. The reveal of the murderer is considerably more dramatic than the previous, inaugural case.

Once Upon a Lamp
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(At the Steve Jobs Building, everyone steps out through the doors to clock out for the night.)
PIXAR INTERN: It’s so incredible to think that Mr. Lasseter started Pixar Animation Studios forty years ago today. To think of all those talented artists and wonderful characters who have been a part of the studio over the years.
PETE DOCTER: Yep. If these walls could talk.
(As Docter and the intern leave, the title appears. “Once Upon a Lamp”. On the wall is a photo from “Toy Story 2” featuring Woody, Jessie, and Bullseye from their role-playing scene. In the photo, Woody moves.)
WOODY: Psst, Luxo! Wally B.! You there?
(Luxo Jr. and Wally B. move to Woody.)
WOODY: Is that it? Are they all gone?
(They nod.)
WOODY: Yee-haw!
(He and the others jump out of their photo.)
WOODY: Come on, guys! This is it!
JESSIE: Let’s get the gang! Yodel-ay-hee-hoo!
(In another hallway, Joy wakes up. Others leave their photos as well.)
JOY: (GASPS) There’s the signal. All right, everyone! It’s picture time!
MIGUEL: That’s tonight?
JOY: That’s now.
EMBER: 40-year group photo. And the sun’s going down. Come on. Let’s get going!
WADE: Ooh, I like the attitude.
(Arlo and Spot pop out, the latter of whom scampers off. In another hallway…)
BUZZ: Picture time, guys!
(The Parr family jump out of their photo.)
HELEN: The day is here?
BOB: Yeah, baby!
VIOLET: Well, what are we waiting for? Let’s get going!
(Violet and Dash stop at a picture of Gus and Peck.)
DASH: Wake up! Wake up!
(They pop out. Peck flies out of control past Bo Peep and her sheep walking with Carl Fredricksen, Russell, and Dug.)
DUG: Oh, boy!
(Flik, Atta, and Dot fly past.)
BO PEEP: Yo, Flik! Ladies! Get the folks upstairs!
FLIK: You’ve got it!
ATTA: Let’s go!
(We follow the ants down the hallway and up to the ceiling. On the second floor, Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater race down a hallway in reverse.)
MATER: (reused from “Cars”) Whee-hee!
McQUEEN: (reused from “Cars 3”) Whoo-hoo-hoo-hoo!
(WALL-E and EVE fly overhead.)
WALL-E: Whee!
(As the cars flip forward, Merida and Angus the Clydesdale horse emerge from her picture frame.)
MERIDA: Picture time! Hyah!
(With Merida on his back, Angus gallops off.)
MERIDA: We’re meeting in the lobby!
(The jackalope and lamb bound down a staircase. The jackalope responds to Merida by shooting her a thumbs-up.)
JACKALOPE: (SINGING) …and I think you can do it If you give it a try
(Voyd opens a portal and lets Bass and Treble through.)
VOYD: Let’s go, boys!
(They start to play. The umbrellas ride gusts of wind made by Gale Cumulus.)
GALE: Up you go, fellas!
(As they fly up, the bluebirds fly down from the upper floor. Behind them, Izzy Hawthorne somersaults down, then Marlin, Dory, and Nemo land in her hands, gasping excessively.)
DORY: (reused from “Finding Dory”) Water.
(Izzy rushes away. Nearby, Hank serves drinks to Lumpy the clown, Geri, Mira Nova, and Mr. B. Elinor yells at them.)
ELINOR: What are you guys doing? There’s no time for drinks!
IZZY: Hank! A little help?
(Hank takes a coffee pot from its machine and fills it with water.)
MARLIN: (reused from “Finding Dory”) Just… keep… gasping.
(He lets Izzy drop the fish inside.)
DORY: (reused from “Finding Dory”) Hank!
HANK: (CHUCKLES) Oh, well. I get to carry you again.
(In another hallway, Ercole Visconti faces a jammed beverage vending machine.)
ERCOLE: Stai scherzando, vero? Il succo stupido si blocca proprio sul bordo! Che sfortuna!
(Riley Andersen, Grace Hsieh, and Bree Young walk past him.)
RILEY: Yikes.
GRACE: Talk about dramatic.
RILEY: Do you guys think all of the villains will show up?
BREE: Hmm. Not all.
(She says, punching a photo of Jangles. Meanwhile, the Potato Heads enter an elevator, already occupied by Fear, Kitbull, Stu, the Witch, and her crow. Fear lets them enter with an “after you” gesture.)
FEAR: Going down?
(Fear presses the button, only for the group to be stopped.)
ROZ: Hold the elevator! I’ll get there!
MR. POTATO HEAD: (reused from “Toy Story 2”) What?
MRS. POTATO HEAD: (reused from “Toy Story 3”) Oh.
(In an office, Meilin Lee draws at a desk with the 4*Townies.)
MEI: (SINGING) You’re never not on my mind
(James P. Sullivan, Mike Wazowski, and Boo pass.)
SULLEY: Come on, girls!
MIKE: Yeah, shake a leg, will ya?
MEI: Hey, you can’t rush art.
(Nash and Ramsey emerge from the paper, scaring the 4*Townies.)
RAMSEY: Well, gosh, is this a sleepover? Come on.
NASH: Let’s go!
(In the women’s bathroom, Celia Mae feeds her snakes breath mints, Laurel Lightfoot cleans her glasses, Luisa Rivera brushes Libby’s skin, Purl sprays her mouth, Mirage brushes her hair, and Colette Tatou adjusts her collar.)
CELIA: Eat up, girls. We’ve got to look great.
(Celia kisses one snake. Molly Davis opens the door, holding Jessie.)
JESSIE: Let’s move it, ladies!
(As Day and Night struggle to squeeze out of their photo, Luca Paguro, Alberto Scorfano, and Giulia Marcovaldo walk by.)
LUCA: You guys excited for the photo, too?
ALBERTO: You know it.
(They stop.)
GIULIA: Hey! Scud!
(Scud looms over Remy and Emile, about to eat them. Dante scares him away.)
REMY: Nice.
(The defective robots watch the Scare Simulator scene from “Monsters University” on a TV. Among the chiefs and suitors of Clans Macintosh, MacGuffin, and Dingwall, Valentina Ortiz and the Fire Hawks walk past.)
VAL: Come on, guys. You’re gonna have nightmares.
(Johnny Worthington III emerges from the screen, scaring the robots away. They surge past Ernesto de la Cruz and carry him away.)
DE LA CRUZ: Huh? Hey! Hey!
(Uku and Lele watch from their photo, unable to leave it. Thunderclap flies past.)
THUNDERCLAP: You guys need a lift?
(The volcanoes nod. Thunderclap picks up their photo with his talons and flies away. Back at the elevator, Roz slowly enters.)
ROZ: Thanks for holding the elevator, Potato Head.
MR. POTATO HEAD: (reused from “Toy Story 2”) Yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever.
BOOSTER: You guys mind if I squeeze in here, too?
(Booster Sinclair Munchapper squeezes himself into the elevator as it closes. In another hallway, Sox follows Anger.)
SOX: Would you like me to play whale sounds to relax to?
ANGER: No. I promise, I’m fine.
(Papá Héctor and Mamá Imelda Rivera come down the stairs. Héctor’s hat falls off. As he and Imelda laugh, Alec Azam takes it in his mouth and runs away.)
HÉCTOR: Hey! Alec! Presto, come get your rabbit!
(They run after him.)
IMELDA: Go, Alec, go!
(Woody laughs while coming up the stairs, then stops and gasps.)
EVELYN: That’s it. Just keep following.
(Evelyn Deavor walks by, hypnotizing Bonnie’s dad with her Screenslaver goggles.)
WOODY: Evelyn? Evelyn! Evelyn, stop it!
(Bonnie’s mom follows.)
BONNIE’S MOM: Don’t worry, Woody. I got this.
(She removes the goggles, then attacks Evelyn. As the fight continues, Woody cringes, then faces the wall in front of him and smiles.)
WOODY: Hmm.
(A portrait of Pixar’s founders, Ed Catmull and Alvy Ray Smith, hangs on it. Woody walks up to it and takes his hat off for a moment of respect.)
BUZZ: Hey, Woody? Where are you? We’re in the lobby!
WOODY: Gotta go, but thanks. On with the show.
(Woody leaves. Nearby, a line of characters waits on the stairs. Riding on Hanuman’s back, Woody flies past.)
WOODY: Whoa!
(Disgust opens the door.)
DISGUST: Coast is clear, Sheriff.
WOODY: Great!
(He jumps off Hanuman’s back.)
WOODY: Right this way!
(Fergus bumps into the closed door.)
WOODY: Oh! Your Majesty, are you okay?
FERGUS: (dizzily shakes his head) Aye, never better, Marston.
(He trips over a garbage can. The next character to leave, Buddy Pine, rolls his eyes.)
SYNDROME: Brilliant- Hey!
(He ducks under Dim carrying Heimlich, Rosie, Tuck, and Roll. Dim flies around the Luxo Jr. statue.)
HEIMLICH: Whee! I feel like a beautiful butterfly!
WOODY: Oh, great. The ladder!
(Alfredo Linguini ducks as Andy Davis swings the ladder over his head. Mo Morrison and Darby Steel walk by.)
MORRISON: I’ll say this much, I’m surprised this went off as well as it did.
DARBY: You’re telling me.
(They join the large group of characters being guided by Woody.)
WOODY: Okay, everybody. Get- Get together now.
(Tinny arrives.)
WOODY: Oh! After you.
(Tinny toots happily and bumps into M-O, who chitters angrily. Edna Mode hands Rex the camera.)
E: It is time, darling.
REX: Thank you, Ms. Mode!
(As Rex uses Slinky Dog to climb the ladder, it becomes unstable and wiggles.)
WOODY: Rex, careful!
(The ladder now swings in circles.)
REX: Where’s that timer button?
(Charles Muntz and his dogs watch.)
GAMMA: Three, two, one…
(Rex falls off the ladder. On the ground, he gets up next to the broken camera.)
DUNCAN: Well, that was fun.
(He storms away.)
SADNESS: Maybe we can try again in another forty years.
(All the other characters sadly walk away from Woody.)
WOODY: Oh, no, no, no. Come back. It- It- It’ll be fine. It’ll... be...
(The characters stop in their tracks as Rosa Rivera plays the first part of “When You Wish Upon a Star” with her violin. Joe Gardener joins in with his piano. Woody, Buzz, and Jessie watch happily.)
GREG: (SINGING) Anything your heart desires
GREG AND MANUEL: Will come to you
(Hopper sighs and puts his fingers on the bridge of his nose.)
HOPPER: I knew this was gonna happen.
IAN: If your heart is in your dream
22: No request is too extreme
JOHN AND MARY: When you wish upon a star
TYLOR AND VAL: As dreamers do
(Abuelita Elena Rivera sweeps up the broken pieces of the camera.)
CHORUS: Fate is kind
(WALL-E fixes it by placing it in his compactor.)
CHORUS: She brings to those who love
(Poppa Henry picks up the ladder. Francis carries Rex up the ladder, letting him set the camera down and press the timer button.)
CHORUS: The sweet fulfillment of their secret longing
(Corey and Gia hold hands as they sing. Elio Solis joins them in harmony.)
COREY, GIA, AND ELIO: Like a bolt out of the blue
MEI: Fate steps in…
(Her friends join in.)
4*TOWNIES: …and sees you through
(Woody stands on Andy’s hand.)
WOODY: When you wish upon a star
(Everyone, together!)
ALL: Your dreams come true
(As everyone finishes singing and smiles for the camera, Luxo Jr. faces us and flashes his light, and the finished photograph appears in a frame hanging on a wall. Fade to black. One final message appears: “TO ALL WHO HAVE IMAGINED WITH US, LAUGHED WITH US, AND DREAMED WITH US, THANK YOU”.)
