I'm not sure who said it first, but the theory that krs is the red dragon has been on my mind for days now

And it would make so much sense if that was the case

Like what's a better twist than finding out the man who ended the white stars bullshit is also the same being who was used to start it all?

And the fact that krs was able to be affected by white stars curse is so much worse now

Imagine sherrit finding out her child was hurt by the same thing she created to protect him 😭

This also places immense suspicion on the god of death, i mean it never made sense to me that the white star was just able to "pass his curse around" like a sickly virus just because he stole someones body. It sounds more plausible to me that the god of death never added the rule "this curse cannot affect anybody else" and then used it as a loophole to curse KRS.

The curse was a punishment for an oath only dragon slayers have made, what the hell could be more targeted and specific than that??? And now you're telling me this random guy from raon has to live with it in korea cuz the white star took his body before that soul got to inhabit it??

The only person who can break a curse is the one who made the curse and the person who wanted it to be made (in this case the GoD and Sherrit)

And in the sealed test choi jung gun says "the god of death is trying to hold the curse back from affecting you"

Excuse me??? He can't dispel his own curse?? I don't believe that at all. Also krs had nothing to do with the white star since he was born, so why is it impossible to remove him from the effects of it?? The god of death had about 36 years to figure out how to make it go away, and he just couldn't?? I smell bullshit

Sherrit also said that the red egg was affecting it's surroundings before it was born, the dragon inside would've been powerful to extents she probably couldn't even comprehend

It makes more sense to me if the GoD just wanted to get rid of any competition/ "wrench in his plans" and used the excuse of protecting sherrits children to create the perfect scenario to take out 2 birds with one stone

GoD does seem kinda stupid when we see him but it's always the mfs with that kind of act that are the most suspicious, also he literally became a god?? If he can do that, then he's more than capable of setting up some kind of intricate plan to get what he wants

Anywho, there's also other things I've noticed:

1) never accepting park jin tae as king until he proved himself, krs has never submitted to anyone without a valid reason for doing so. Which would seem kinda weird cuz he spent 90% of his upbringing being beaten into submission. I've only ever seen an attitude like that in dragons or just stronger creatures in general (coincidence? I think not)

2) this has been stated before but his affinity with dragons is crazy + he's constantly being mistaken for one 😭

3) the GoD called krs a mutant, we don't know why yet but being a human with the soul of a dragon is a pretty valid reason to call someone a mutant. (Especially if that mutant was able to activate a small % of its attribute)

4) i don't have anything to back this up with, but instant being his attribute instead of a power he got on earth would be pretty cool, just using it for a little bit is enough to injure him because it's meant to be used by a dragon as powerful as the Red one.

He knew what to do before this bright light ended. He gently stroked the soft, smooth back and then lifted the small creature that fit in his two hands up high above his head. And the light went out. - Human, this is Eden Mir ! Cale and Raon, who have become invisible, were inside an aurora made of brilliant platinum powder. They could see a small dragon in the center. Eden Mir was half-human and half-dragon, but now appeared as a baby dragon. The dragon, small enough to fit in Cale's two hands and safely supported, slowly opened its eyes. The dragon bowed his head as if he knew who was supporting him. “… …”. “… …”. Cale and Eden Mir looked at each other. And Cale was startled. Because he saw dark brown eyes just like his own. A black body like Raon. But the golden patterns embroidered on its body reminded him of the Milky Way. And two small purple horns sprouted out. Half-human, half-dragon, possessing light and time. Eden Mir.

Raon's round eyes drew a crescent moon-like smile at Cale.

[Name] softly asked as his gaze landed on the half-blood that was supposed to be dead. Well, at least that’s what everyone told the man. They all told him that his hyung was dead and that his never coming back.

Nonetheless, he was here, in front of [Name].

He was weak, he looked like a normal human. The air of elegance and power around him was almost gone.

But still, he was here. He isn’t dead like everyone had claimed him to be.

That’s enough for [Name].

He tried to reach out to the Dragon half-blood, but an arm stopped him from doing so.

It was Dorph’s arm. Of course it was, who else would it be after all?

“You mustn't [Name]-nim, that bad hyung has betrayed your father. We don’t want you being tainted.”

The man retreated his hand. Dorph’s voice and actions were soft, as if [Name] was the finest jewel that would break if handled wrong. However, that jewel was already shaking even after being cared for so meticulously.

[Name] did not dare argue. It was obvious in his eyes how he wanted to be by the half-blood’s side, but no words came out of his mouth. Dorph looked back at the man and smiled in satisfaction after seeing [Name] follow his orders.

“Take that calamity– that boy with you.”

Cale who had been watching the exchange heard the Dragon half-blood whispered. His brain was still in disarray, but he had enough wits left to tell Cale to take [Name] with them.

Of course, Cale isn’t someone who would trust an enemy so quickly. For all he knew this could be a last-ditch effort to have the upper hand.

The half-blood knew he couldn’t be trusted, but he still insisted.

“White Star will take a huge blow if you take him. That kid also doesn’t know how to fight back, I can guarantee it.”

As if to prove his point White Star arrived and the first thing he did was look for [Name].

White Star gently smiled at [Name] as his gaze landed on the man. It was as if a father was looking at a beloved child. However, that affection is unreciprocated as [Name] becomes even more scared upon the reincarnator’s arrival.

[Name] became even more scared after the bastard whispered something in his ear.

“B-but hyung is with them–!”

“Hurry up, before White Star forces that calamity to use his powers!”

The so-called calamity tried to plead with White Star at the same time the Dragon half-blood whispered to Cale. Urgency dripped with every word the chimera spoke. He even almost sounded scared at the man’s ability.

It made Cale scoff. He still doesn’t know the whole picture, but this was enough to finalize his decision.

“Choi Han!”

The young master shouted amidst the chaos and the enemy's monologue. Choi Han immediately knew what to do. He quickly yanked the mysterious man and ran towards where Cale and the others were.

With that, all of them safely teleported to Marquis Stan’s territory.

[Name] was dizzy. Both physically and mentally.

He had no shred of clue what was happening. One moment he was behind Dorph, then all of a sudden this swordmaster grabbed him and now it looks like he was underground.

The poor man was scared. Most of the people he met wanted something with him. They all sought him out for what he could provide for them. This is especially true with powerful people.

And this group is full of just that.

Nevertheless, he said nothing. He merely followed everyone while staying as quiet as possible. His hands strongly gripped the back of the distraught Dragon half-blood’s clothes. As if that cloth was [Name]’s last lifeline.

Honestly, it could be.

For all he knew they could force him to use his ability to its maximum capacity and then he would die.

As much as he didn’t mind dying he didn’t want the aftermath of using his ability.

“This kid has an ability called barren. Calamity, explain it yourself. You’re not a kid anymore.”

What a flimsy excuse… it was obvious that the half-blood just wanted some thinking time.

Still, [Name] complied and started introducing himself to Cale.

“I’m [Name] and unlike hyung and White Star I’m a normal human with a normal lifespan.”

The weird introduction made Cale’s eyebrows raise. But he said nothing and waited for the man to continue.

“As hyung said I have an ability called barren. The best explanation for it is death for everyone and everything as long as I will it so.”

Ah, suddenly the nickname “calamity” is starting to make sense.

“Of course, it’s not without a price. I can kill anyone in the world at will but it would cost me my life.”

[Name] proceeds to explain how the price is his own lifespan. Every time he uses his powers his lifespan shortens. Hence why all this time White Star used it sparingly.

“I… I’m not really allied with the White Star. He found me on the streets one day and discovered my ability. Since then I’ve been forced to do whatever he wants me to…”

His voice shook as he spoke. Fear and anxiety apparent with every word. However, truth was also there along those things. He might be shaking in his boots, holding onto his hyung like his life depended on it, but his voice and eyes showed Cale that he spoke the truth.

“We’ll talk more later. For now, we need to get that earth attribute power.”

Unfortunately, things became hectic after that. The next time they got to talk was after Sheritt and Raon found out the truth about what happened to the red egg.

“Thank you.”

[Name]’s voice was sincere as he thanked Cale.

“For what?”

“For giving my hyung a choice. It means a lot to him. More than he is willing to show.”

Cale’s insolent tone was drowned out by [Name]’s genuineness.

“What about you?”

[Name] made a humming noise at the redhead’s question. Asking him to explain what he meant.

“You were never given a choice.”

A serene look glazed over [Name]’s face and for a moment Cale couldn’t help but think about how odd this pair of “siblings” are.

“Seeing my hyung have the possibility to redeem himself is good for me. It’s enough.”

The ability user’s voice became quieter, more content.

“You see young master, I’m a blight. It’s why my family abandoned me. Someone like me should never exist. Did you know that at first, I couldn’t control my ability? I would accidentally kill the trees and grass around me.”

A distant look glazed over the man. He wasn’t with Cale anymore, he was back in the past. Back in his childhood memories.

“I hate White Star. I never wanted to kill so many living things, but he made me do it. He said it’s for the greater good, but I’m not an idiot… Still though…”

[Name] choked up a bit, as if his next words had to be forced out of him.

“I’m thankful to him because he taught me how to control my powers. It’s because of him that I can talk to you peacefully like this.”

Cale wasn’t sure where this was going, but he still listened. Not an inch of him moved from his position. Record unknowingly working hard to take in [Name]’s words.

“What I’m trying to say is that this moment of peace is enough for me. Being able to talk to everyone without having to worry is enough for me. In fact, this is already too generous for a calamity like me.”

That glazed look in [Name]’s eyes disappeared as he came back to the present.

“Ah, I’m sorry I spoke a bunch of nonsense. I’ll be retreating in my room now. Please call me if you need anything.”

Cale didn’t say anything as [Name] bowed an apology before walking in the opposite direction.

He wasn’t stunned or surprised per se.

It was just that he saw himself in [Name].

Not him as Cale Henituse, the young master of a wealthy noble family.

But him as Kim Rok Soo, the abused and battered child who had long given up. The child who had succumbed to the whims of the incompetent adults around him. The man who only woke up every day because he hadn’t died yet.

And maybe it was because of some twisted self-satisfaction. Maybe it was Cale projecting into [Name]. But the moment the man had turned his back the redhead made a promise.

A promise for no one else to hear but Cale only.

A silent vow that he would give [Name] all the possible choices he could give him. Ensure that he’ll find out the joys of living, of not being in pain.

Cale silently vowed that he would put in the effort just so that [Name] could enjoy his own small field of flowers.

Bruce is probably around 40s? in this world

which would work with Cale who is mentally almost in his 40s

and probably more reasonable is if this is after they defeat the hunters and slacker life time so Cale body is now physically in the 30s and BAM it fits

Reactions to The Worst's Chapter 397

Brief summary: Eden is finally born.

I think I know now why this chapter was delayed for so long. The author must have wanted Eden's birth to coincide with the Lunar New Year! Though it's the Year of the Snake now and not the Year of the Dragon which was last year.

Cale's DA fooled everyone into thinking it was the egg who had the aura of a ruler. 😂 Gashan's crows and Mary's skeletons "bowing down" and "kneeling" was also funny. 😂 Then there was HD parting the red clouds, and Eruhaben sending down a platinum lightning towards the egg, and which turned to platinum dust before it reached the ground. The special effects crew worked hard today! 😂😂😂

Cale and Raon approached the egg while invisible, thinking that there should at least be someone to embrace Eden when he was born. 🥰 And when Eden was born amidst a blinding light, Cale reaching out to him and feeling a front paw was so 🥰🥰🥰.

Then Cale raised Eden up high as the two stared at each other. Eden could finally talk, so he thanked Cale and said he liked his name. 🥰🥰🥰

Cale and Eden stared at each other. And Cale was startled. Because I saw dark brown eyes just like my own. A black body like Raon. But the golden patterns on its body reminded me of the Milky Way. And two small purple horns sprouted out.

For context, the word 광 (gwang) in Korean could mean "light" or "crazy". So Cale was wondering if Eden was a "Light Dragon" or a "Crazy Dragon." 😂😂😂

Oh yeah, Eden was cute. Even Cale acknowledged that.

Cale looked up. A dragon small enough to fit in two hands. Eden Miru was quite- uh, well- -Human, Eden Miru is so cute! As expected of the youngest! Uh… he's over 900 years old, but still cute. Seriously, he was born so cute that even Cale would recognize it. Though Eden Miru himself didn't seem to have noticed it yet.

Cale thought it was over now that the subquest was completed, but for some reason, it was not over???

“Fufu-” Clopeh Sekka made sure all the footage was in the storage and immediately began working on the second part. “Spread this out into the world.” New World, Earth 3. Spread it everywhere. Cale was so busy watching the cheers that he didn't realize the quest window fluctuated. [Birth Ceremony progress 307%] [Birth Ceremony progress 308%] [Birth Ceremony Progress 309%] The progress continued to climb. Cale still hadn't realized Clopeh Sekka's true intentions.

Ah... Clopeh discovered social media. 🤣🤣🤣 What kind of craziness was he up to now? Then again, it's the Year of the Snake now, so it's Clopeh's year.

Ending Remarks So many moving scenes today. 🥰 Next chapter would probably be Sheritt's reaction to Eden's birth.
