I hate all of you. Why is this website making Kaz Brekker a soft boy when he literally MURDERS PEOPLE. No, he won't cry if you hug him. No he doesn't want to pet your dog. He'll take your eye out.
Stop romanticizing crime, all of you are sick.

Intro post! + links to everything :)
Hi, I'm DK and this blog is mostly full of me talking about the Six of Crows and the rest of the Grishaverse! (and I'm also on AO3 as she_posts_nerdy_stuff)
It's occurred to me recently that I never did an intro post and also I'm just generally feeling that things over here are super disorganised so I've gone through all of my posts since 2022 (this was not a quick task you guys omg) and done my best to organise everything into tags so that you can access them all from here! All the links to the tags, or sometimes individual posts, are below the cut, and the categories are AO3, Grishaverse analysis, Grishaverse edits, Grishasverse knitting projects, and Grishaverse incorrect quotes.
Please note: this is a lot of stuff to wade through and I am sure to have missed the odd thing, but hopefully this is pretty mch everything! If you're looking for something that I've said should be here and can't find it, let me know and I'll do my best to track it down :)
Thank you all so much, love to you all <3
AO3 LINKS (I'm starting with the easier links, I don't have to make tags for these ones)
Original works
As I'm writing this I have four fics up on AO3, two of which are works in progress, and I'll update this post whenever that changes (ie when I finish them or when I start a new one)
UPDATE: Five fics now! Links are below <3
Daughter of the Rain and Snow
225k words, 146 chapters, Kanej focused with Wesper featured and Helnik kinda mentioned, post-canon, no archive warnings, completed
Summary:
Around ten years after the events of Crooked Kingdom, 25-year-old Captain Inej Ghafa frees Maya Olsen from a pleasure house in Ketterdam. Maya is looking for revenge against the man who put her in her position, a man who she knows nothing about except his name: Kaz Brekker.
Don't Go Blindly Into The Dark
100k + words, 60+ chapters, Wesper focused with Kanej featured and Helnik mentioned, pre-canon, canon divergence, no archive warnings, work in progress
Summary:
To hide that he can't read, Jan Van Eck has been forcing his son to pretend he's blind since he was eight years old. Wylan is now attending Ketterdam University, and meeting Jesper Fahey may very well be about to change his life. But is he safe to tell Jesper the truth? And what will Jesper say if he does?
Jesper is struggling to weigh up his life in the Barrel and his life at the University of Ketterdam, and there's a good chance that his growing debt is about to make the decision for him. He hasn't attended class consecutively for months, but maybe that will change when his newest project includes partnering up with Wylan Van Eck. But can he really leave the Barrel behind him? And how long can he keep up the pretence of who he thinks Wylan wants him to be?
Meanwhile there is a darkness growing in Ketterdam, and it seems a killer may be stalking the streets of West Stave. An unknown evil is closing its jaws over the city, and it’s starting to feel like nowhere is safe.
Our Gods Have Abandoned Us
19k + words, 11 chapters, Helnik and Kanej with Wesper kinda featured, so much angst, post-canon, canon-divergence (Van Eck wins AU), major character death, work in progress
This one properly started with this post
Summary:
"Of course they do, Jes," Kaz flexed his fingers in his gloves, "That's what losing a war means. And when that war comes, Kerch can't afford for Shu Han to win it. They'll back Fjerda against Ravka now so that when Shu Han turn against them Fjerda will back them in return. Ravka's navy will fall to Kerch's, most of Ravka's territory will go to Fjerda and if it has any money left then I expect plenty of it will be given to Kerch as part of the deal. The Shu will move against Fjerda to take back the territories they were trying to win from Ravka, and Fjerda will pay them little mind until they declare war on Kerch. Novyi Zem will back Shu Han, because they still think their trade ambassador was killed by the Kerch in what was actually Shu Han's last attempt to start a war over here, Fjerda will back Kerch, refugees will flee to the Wandering Isle and their economy won't be able to withstand it, and meanwhile I will remain exactly where I am and get drunk toasting to the end of the world. You're all welcome to join me,"
OR -
A Van Eck wins AU, mostly exploring how the Crows would respond to the situation but I have some semblance of a larger plot forming I just need to piece it together
If I'm Good Will You Come Back?
2k words, 1 chapter, sad and angst, gen but Helnik mentioned, canon compliant, major character death, completed
Summary:
Five times Matthias Helvar spoke to his baby sister through Djel, and one time that she answered
I’ve put major character death as a tag but it’s nothing beyond canon, it’s just depicted in this fic from a slightly different perspective 👍
Portrait of a Dead Girl
7 chapters so far, gen but also F/M, Alina and the Darkling are in a relationship in this but it isn't shipping them and the Darkling is the villain, canon divergence, alternate universe, rape/non-con, underage, major character death, work in progress
Summary:
Alina Starkov was given to Duke Aleksander Morozova of Os Alta in marriage when she was fifteen years old. Within a year, she was dead. The official cause of Alina's death was marked as putrid fever, but many at the time believed, and many in the future will go on to believe, that she was poisoned by her husband.
-
This fic is completely inspired by The Marriage Portrait by Maggie O'Farrel, which is a work of historical fiction based on the real lives of Duchess Lucrezia d'Este (née de' Medici) and Duke Alfonso ii d'Este of Ferrara. You don't need any prior knowledge of The Marriage Portrait or history to read and enjoy this fic, but know that my writing is very much going to mimic that of O'Farrel in format and although I'm hoping to write the story in my personal usual writing style I will definitely be borrowing a lot of my descriptors, symbols, and so on and so forth from O'Farrel - there will be some of mine too though :)
Recommendations
Posts where I'm recommending fics can be found here

Imagine this..
Matthew Murdock has always been such a close friend of yours, and only recently have you both begun dating. It wasn't a spontaneous decision or one made from desperation. Both of you truly love one another. You have just been dancing around the matter for far too long. The teasing you received from Foggy was relentless..
Despite knowing Matt's "night job" and the incredibly enhanced senses that he has, you were adamant that he didn't know what you truly looked like. Not only your face, but your body. Matt could sense your heart beating too fast, an ankle that is swelling, footsteps from downstairs, yet you were positive that he didn't know you were on the chubbier scale. You two haven't been an official couple for too long, and so not many intimate moments have happened.
Tonight, though, everything came crashing down around you. The damn broke, and water flooded the land so violently that these salty tears had you bent grasping your stomach.
You had gone out with Matt and his team. Everything was going so well. You even won a game of pull against some guy who claimed he was the best. All of this came to a halt when you overheard a group of ladies nearby talking about you. Each one had something to say. You were too short, your clothes didn't match, your fashion was ugly, Matt would be better with one of them, you were just too fat to be his girlfriend. You had tears welling up in your eyes, and you held back a sob as you excused yourself from everyone else. Matt noticed your shallow breaths and quickened pulse, but you ran away before he could say a word.
Matt shot a glare in the direction of the women, despite having his glasses on. Matt heard every word they said. Of course he did. He wasn't that drunk. Matt gave Foggy his pool stick and rushed after you. Matt followed your path that led him to the backdoor, where he could hear your sobs through the door. He quickly exited the building via the door and stepped into the alleyway. As he approached you, the smell of cortisol poured from you. Matt was reluctant to hold you in case that would be crossing a barrier at the moment, but it was getting really damn hard to just stand and do nothing as you sob.
Luckily, he didn't have to wait long. You practically threw yourself into his chest and wrapped your arms around his neck as you cried into his eck. Matt didn't hesitate to hold you close and soothingly caress your back and hair. When your crying finally came to a standstill, Matt asked the big question. "What happened?" He mumbled into your hair.
You immediately froze, clutching him close to your chest as you sniffed. "I'm not..as pretty as you think I am.." You whispered into his warm skin. It took Matt a moment to process what you had said, but once he did, he pulled away from you. The look on his face was stern and frustrated. "Who told you that you aren't pretty?" Matt asked. You only shook your head wiped your eyes.
"No one needs to tell me..mirror's exist." Matt only scoffed at this answer and shook his head in disbelief. "You are the most beautiful woman I have ever met." He bitterly chuckles. "Matt.. you don't know what I look like. That's the only reason why -" Your lip started to quiver once again. "Don't. Finish that sentence." Matt's voice was demanding, you immediately shut your mouth.
"I'm with you because you are a beautiful woman. You have such a bright laugh that makes me melt. Your humming lulls me to sleep every time you do it, not to mention this body that I get to feel against my own." He gently smirks as his hands wander up my shirt slightly. You swat at his hands yet can't help but grin from his words. "But what I really love is your personality." He says with a loving sigh.
You erupt into tears once again, yet this time, they are from happiness. Matt runs his hands up and down your body and explores your face. He kisses your cheeks and then your shoulders, leading to your fingertips. Matt may not be able to see,but he can feel and sense things. The love radiating off of you was simple enough to make Matt fall in love. Not to mention the way you feel under his palms. You're not the skinniest woman out there, but who gives a shit?

When they say shelving stories isn't the end of things and that you can always come back, we mean it.
I did some extremely light editing work today, on a whim, for "In Shining Armor" which I wrote in 1993!
Tumblr media
The file is so old that I had to download LibreOffice to even open the file and then convert it because Word considered the file format a threat (probably to their pocketbooks more than security but still...).
So, to go along with you can always come back, also remember to both back up and never throw any writing away. You do never know when you might need it.
Someone brought some of their old work in to writing group this week, mentioning it was one of their first things which they had been thinking about again but also that they felt bad about how bad it was. And I mentioned, hey, it's probably fantastic compared to my oldest stuff.
So then I was like, hey, I should dig out my equivalent piece.
And... Sheesh, it is BAD bad.
63 pages double spaced but still with 8 parts and 41 chapters. One is a prologue and I'm fairly certain the last 4 "chapters" are all epilogues, two with multiple brand new characters being introduced in them. You know, for all those epic sequels I was going to write.
Tumblr media
Peter Jackson has got nothing on me.
I also managed a very graphic sex scene without ever describing the body of one of the participants. Must have cut that for the magazine back in the day. Highschoolers writing smut! Scandal! Outrage! Why, I never! It's all too shocking! For shaaaaame!!
But it is at least spelling and grammar checked now XD so that's an improvement.
I don't know if I can quite imagine what this story would look like if I tried to do it now. Definitely not the same amount of smut. Don't know if it would be more or less, though.
It's so cliched fantasy.
Evil Tyrant overlord, check.
Return of the long lost prince, check.
Cursed good sorceress, check.
The peasants are revolting AND they're rebelling, Check.
My god the accents >_< XD!, yes, spell check, I do wish to keep all the whadya means.
...Somehow the rebels have guns when everyone else has swords.
The evil good Wizard did it.
The Wizard's name is Marlin, not to be confused with Merlin.
Villain (and HOMG check his name) gets a final monologue. AFTER he has gotten a fatal stab wound and is bleeding fire.
"You may think you have won," Darius gurgled, "But this is only the beginning. I shall come again. When you least expect it, and when you are least prepared to handle it, I  Darius Lucifero shall return." With that the flames engulfed him, and his ashes were set to the winds.
Che-eck, PLEASE.
Ah, no, it was only THREE epilogues. That's fine then.
XD!!!
So, you know, don't get too down on your writing. Trust me, you will get better. And probably faster than me XD! I still give villains final monologues. I like villain monologues.
I may just like monologues XD.

The break
Fandom: Six of Crows
Pairing: Jesper Fahey x Wylan Van Eck
Warnings: smut in general, blowjob, soft Jesper, adorable Wylan
Summary: it's been a while since Wylan and Jesper shared some intimacy as Jesper works for days and nights but they manage to find a way back to each other
Word count: 3,1k
A/n: big thanks to @ikeneasul11 and @verygaynotherapy for their help with editing.
Tumblr media
Wylan still couldn't believe that Jesper was his boyfriend. Jesper, who was loud and funny, who Wylan had seen hundreds of times make anyone, men or women, fall in love with him, flirting like it was a second language for him. No one could resist his charms. Wylan tried not to think about why Jesper chose him when he could have had anyone in Ketterdam, instead, he tried to enjoy the soft kisses and touches between them.
They spent less and less time together lately, so Wylan shone with happiness that today Jesper agreed to not only to have dinner at the Van Eck mansion, but to cook dinner for the two of them. It reminded him of the past, of all those nights they spent together in the kitchen at the Slat.
— I love cooking for you. It's always better compared with what I do for myself. And I don't want to brag, but you're a great cook under my influence, too, — Wylan joked, smiling infectiously. — This breakfast is incredibly delicious, for example.
Jesper knew he was already running late, but he couldn't bring himself to tell Wylan and ruin their rare moment of that almost domestic routine he liked so much. He finished everything with great appetite, hardly feeling hungover anymore, and glanced regretfully at his watch before turning to Wylan.
— Will you kiss me in a way I can't forget it all day?
No matter how much time they spent together, Jesper's feelings remained the same. He still wanted to care about Wylan and make him laugh as well as bring him gifts and treat him right, the way he deserved. And it was totally mutual. Wylan tensed briefly but nodded, feeling suddenly responsible for the kiss. They'd both always been very tactile with each other, but lately every casual touch was so rare that they had become worth their weight in gold. He couldn't remember the last time they'd slept together, still, he tried to shake his anxiety off.
Wylan waited until Jesper rose from the table and took the first dozen seconds to just stare into his dark eyes, stroking his cheek and then running his fingers down to the back of his neck, pressing gently and shortening the distance between their mouths. Jesper gave in easily and confidentl, he braided his arms around Wylan's waist as their lips finally joined with a quiver. He felt the familiar softness and pushed the tip of his tongue along Wylan's lower lip, circling wetly around the outline. He took his time, deliberately going slow to catch every little detail better, and then kissed Wylan for real, lingering with their tongues, while pressing himself closer to Wylan.
— I love you very much. I always will, I guess. And I'm really glad we're still together, I don't take that for granted, just so you know, — Jesper confessed confusedly, reminding himself of a teenager, and kissed Wylan again, his fingers tangling in Wylan's hair. He couldn't stop himself, managing to slide his palm under his shirt, but then he had to force himself to pull away, catching his breath while looking into Wylan's eyes. — I have to go, — Jesper stretched out sadly, not at all convincingly.
Wylan nodded cautiously, not the least bit surprised that their happy moment was interrupted again by some business matter of all things. It was a phrase he had been hearing more often recently than the cherished "I love you," but he didn't argue, because making this displeasure known wouldn't change anything. Spoiling each other's moods early in the morning wasn't something he wanted to do.
— I'll see you later, then. I'll be home, — Wylan retorted with exaggerated cheerfulness, as if saying that didn't leave a bitter taste in his mouth, and then he kissed the corner of Jesper's mouth once more before breaking the contact and turning his attention to the empty dishes he'd gathered together and taken to the sink to wash.
Quite often Jesper didn't know what he really wanted. Sometimes he thought that if Wylan asked him to stay, he wouldn't hesitate to jump into his arms and disappear from the rest of the world. But Wylan was too attentive, too caring and too gentle to reproach him seriously. That didn't stop him, however, from being upset. Even now he somehow shamefully wanted to cry himself to sleep alone at the Van Eck mansion.
The day had flown by when he distracted himself with household chores, and in the evening Wylan greeted his partner with such enthusiasm and joy, it looked almost like they had not seen each other in years.
— I took care of all the little things. I bought some groceries, changed the bedding, sorted out a new box of books and rearranged things in the dressing room, — Wylan followed him first into the bathroom and then into the bedroom, watching curiously as Jesper changed his clothes.
Jesper listened about Wylan's day with genuine interest, mentally thankful that he didn't have to answer the same questions. Wylan had long ago accepted what Kaz and the rest the Crows did, but some things still continued to scare him for their cruelty.
— Did we need to rearrange the dressing room? — Jesper teased a little, tenderness showing in his voice.
— No, but I had to keep myself busy with something. With mum being gone to visit her aunt and you being away in the Barrel, it became kind of lonely here.
But Wylan felt way more comfortable now, no longer confined to his solitude within these four walls. He had learnt how to love this house, every inch of it was familiar, and he could blindly name the position of every little thing on the shelves, but all of that was losing its charm while being stuck here alone, as if it was his personal prison, chosen of his own will.
— You've got me in your grip and won't let me go anywhere now, I hope? — Wylan smiled playfully, taking a couple of steps backward and dropping to the bed as Jesper approached him. He was well aware that dinner would have to wait, even before Jesper brought it up. — I imagined it tonight, you know. That you wouldn't let me go again. That you'd hold me to the table, that you'd kiss me more.
Wylan didn't have time to finish because Jesper was suddenly too close, the weight of his body was the first thing he felt on him, and the next second they were already kissing, unrestrained and greedy. Wylan instantly lost all control of the situation and was seized by that vivid passion he always felt when he was too close to Jesper. A barely audible moan escaped his lips as Jesper pressed against his groin in a familiar way and tangled his fingers in his hair, pulling away slightly. Their kiss was passionate and wet, almost painful, imbued with unsatisfied desire and fear of parting.
They had seen each other in all sorts of clothes and all stages of undress. Seen in different moods: sad, angry, joyful, irritated, bored, jealous, excited and happy. Jesper was literally the closest person to him, but now Wylan had to teach his body to trust Jesper again after a long hiatus. Maybe that's why he was so blown away immediately. His body's reactions were all too vivid and eloquent, obligingly showing that their lack of touch had clearly reached a new level. Even simple kisses got Wylan so turned on that his own heart pounded in his ears, making his blood pump faster than necessary, turning the anticipation into a pleasant heaviness in his lower abdomen.
— I just… — he said confusedly, pulling his head to the side as Jesper nuzzled his neck with soft kisses. — Sometimes I feel like I miss you even when you're next to me, you know? Before… before, even after a day apart, we'd pounce on each other at the first opportunity, even after the longest day we would always find time for each other, but now I hardly see you, even though we literally sleep in the same bed. I fall asleep when you're gone and I wake up when you've already left. And I'm afraid to think about it because I don't know if it's just because we've been together for so long and our feelings are getting cold, that you find other activities more interesting than me and I have to get over it, or that something has gone wrong between us and I really have to worry about it.
— Babe, I know I've been hanging around the Barrel doing Kaz's dirty work the last few weeks, but it has nothing to do with our relationship. I swear, my feelings for you are just as strong as ever and I miss you endlessly and I think about you a lot, always, — Jesper immediately tried to reassure him, feeling Wylan's insecurities and doubts too well.
The next moment he leaned back to Wylan with another hot kiss. He didn't hold back his fervor and wasn't cautious. Quickly he pushed assertively with his tongue, getting past a row of teeth, licking greedily as he let the wet smack of their kisses spread across their bedroom. Jesper had waited too long and missed Wylan too much so he tried to show it now, by reaching down with his free palm to cover Wylan's groin, squeezing hard, as if he was checking if their reactions to each other still worked in the same way.
They had used sex for many purposes throughout their relationship: to express desire and need, to show feelings, to make amends, and to make things right after a stormy argument. Now it was a way to get back to each other and find themselves again. Jesper marked his partner's neck in the most direct way possible, thinking of how the already forming hickey would be a reminder of who really belonged to whom. He ran his tongue over the reddish patch of skin and then moved lower to leave kisses all over Wylan's collarbones.
— You're the most beautiful person to me. I love you more than anything in the world, and I want you, no, I need you to remember that, — Jesper whispered sweetly, throwing a burning gaze to his lover, and moved lower, taking the clothes off Wylan. Jesper's tongue was quickly near the perks of his nipples, while his fingers crawled slowly under Wylan's underwear.
— You are unbelievable. Just look at the effect you have on me, — Wylan's face lit up with a smile and the tips of his ears turned red with embarrassment as he impatiently pushed himself into Jesper's palm now without the barrier of clothing, showing him how ready he was.
— I don't want to watch, I want to taste. To feel you on my tongue again, — Jesper said plentifully, not even trying to hide the desire in his dark eyes.
Wylan's pants flew somewhere on the floor along with his underwear, but Jesper paid no attention to it anymore, staring admiringly at his lover's evident arousal and smiling contentedly. He was between Wylan's legs the next moment, running down a path of soft kisses on the inside of his thigh, biting playfully there only to quickly return his attention to Wylan's cock. His fingers circled the sticky head around it. The tip of his tongue collected a drop of precum, and Jesper had an extremely smug look, unashamed of anything.
— I didn't think about others during those months. Even when I got someone else's attention, I still thought only of you. You alone deserve a place in my bed, — he was being frank again, before leaving a kiss on his partner's thigh.
Pleasure overshadowed Wylan's consciousness, and Jesper's actions seemed particularly intimate and proper. Only Jesper knew all his weaknesses and was now brazenly taking advantage of them, making Wylan moan louder as well as making his hips quiver.
— You look so seductive when you're between my legs, did I tell you that? — he spoke teasingly as he squeezed Jesper's shoulder approvingly. — More, love, I need more.
Jesper slid lips over his shaft, pressing his tongue tightly against the inside, and drew his cheeks in. He was filled with a sincere joy, almost childlike, when he felt directly the way Wylan's cock trembled on his tongue. It made him want to moan even louder. Jesper deliberately chose a leisurely pace, stretching everything into a sweet, exhausting torture, and swallowed the tart taste of precum, forcing his muscles to contract for more pleasure.
It felt good to turn off his head and follow the simple mechanics of these familiar movements. His own arousal didn't go anywhere, still gathering in a tight lump in his lower abdomen. But it wasn't distracting, because now he was much more engrossed in the need to feel Wylan like this. Jesper let the hard cock go further down and waited for a while, reveling in the feeling of tightness and tension in his throat, swallowing all of his excess saliva. He knew from experience how amazing that tightness felt.
His lungs burned with fire from the lack of oxygen, but Jesper endured, finding a strange pleasure in the asphyxiation. His muscles contracted reflexively, and he knew from Wylan's long groan that he, too, felt the shudder. Only then did he gently pull away with a loud pop and coughed, finally catching his breath and looking at Wylan quite happily.
— I fucking missed moments like this, princess.
Wylan felt what was happening so vividly that he had to clutch at the sheets with trembling fingers. He opened his eyes, meeting his partner's gaze, and was ready to whimper just at the sight of him, involuntarily jerking his hips upward barely noticeably. His arousal had been put off for so long, and was therefore so heightened now, that for a second Wylan thought he would cum just from this, like a teenager, after only a few minutes of such stunning caress.
Jesper playfully left another bite on Wylan's thigh and carefully pulled him to flip him onto his stomach. Already familiar with the process, Wylan thrust his hips upward and didn't bother to hold back a surprised shriek when a hard slap reached his buttocks.
– Even if you cum now, I'll still go on, — Jesper warned as if it were meant to frighten Wylan, though his voice was too low and seductive. He added some lube to his fingers and then put two at once to the clenched ring of muscle and pressed gently. Wylan exhaled sharply, and his cheeks flushed at these words.
— My fingers don't feel as good as yours do. Nothing feels as good as you do.
The abundance of lube made it easier, and Jesper acted unhurriedly but confidently enough, moving his fingers progressively. The hot elastic muscles were slowly stretching. They clenched the phalanges within them so that the mere thought of replacing them with his cock and feeling that narrowness directly made Jesper want to reach the peak.
All of Wylan's concentration went into keeping himself from cumming, so he had no control over his moans and sighs, that burst out of him with each new movement of Jesper's fingers. Nor did he control the way his hips impatiently moved back towards his lover, trying to deepen his thrusts and get even more pleasure.
— Please, please fuck me, Jes, please, — he whimpered, arching his back harder and peering out from behind his shoulder to notice the same intense desire in his boyfriend's eyes.
— I love it when you beg. When you languish like this, all ready for me and only me, — Jesper leaned in with a chuckle and traced caressing kisses along Wylan's back, but he didn't play any more, feeling himself how hard it was to contain the acute arousal.
He pressed his fingertips firmly into Wylan's thighs, surely leaving marks for the future, but he paid no attention to them, and with a confident thrust drove his hard shaft all the way in. He froze, breathing heavily, and gave them both some time to get used to each other all over again, and then began a measured movement, steering Wylan's hips so that he was directly thrusting into him, listening to the wet slaps of skin against skin.
Wylan mumbled something between "Jess," "I love you," and "please" into the pillow and finally let out a long, hoarse moan as Jesper began to stretch the muscles inside harder, pressing on the sensitive points. His moans were still Jesper's favorite thing in the world. Addressed only to him, evoked only by him. He listened carefully to each one, memorized them again, and saved them deep in his memory, like a thief who kept his bounty. He was thankful that they had the whole house to themselves and didn't have to hold back or worry about the volume.
Jesper frankly admired the sight of his cock hiding inside Wylan's body and stroked his buttocks. He leaned lower and pressed close against Wylan's heated body, ending up with kisses near his shoulder and the curve of his neck, while the bedroom was filled with the vulgar sounds of hard thrust.
— Cum, sweetheart. Do it for me. I'll keep going and I can get you going all over again. Come on, babe, you deserve it, — Jesper allowed finally, running his palms over his partner's chest. He grabbed his nipples in between his fingers and then confidently scratched along his belly on the sensitive skin before he covered Wylan's dick with his palm, helping him loose control and get a release. Jesper pushed harder, letting a new moan come off his lips, and slapped his ass again, trying to affect Wylan's pleasure in every way possible at once.
Wylan heard these words as if it was coming through thick water, but he still could understand their meaning. He needed that permission now, and the praise that followed only added bright colors. He let go of his self-control as Jesper quickened his pace and began to push into his body harder, pushing them both to the edge. Wylan groaned, squeezing to bright colored spots under his eyes as his orgasm finally overtook him, making him clench his muscles from the inside and speed up an orgasm for Jesper as well.
There was no clear thought in his head, only a fog of tenderness and love, while a pleasant exhaustion pierced his body, and Jesper moved gently to face Wylan and pull him closer before he left light kisses on his cheeks and lips, smiling happily.
— If you're always this hot and needy after a break, I'll ask Kaz to load me up with work again before next weekend. I feel like a teenager around you, and I fall in love with you more and more every day, princess.

---
Nina Zenik stood in the dimly lit study of the Van Eck Mansion, her gaze fixed on the flickering flame of a solitary candle. The grandeur of the room was lost on her as she wrestled with memories that refused to fade. She clutched Matthias Helvar's worn leather jacket to her chest, feeling the weight of his absence like a physical ache.
Outside, the wind whispered through the trees, carrying with it the promise of a harsh Fjerdan winter. Nina shivered, not from the chill in the air but from the relentless sorrow that gripped her heart.
Matthias, the boy who brought her back from death, the boy he loved, was gone.
Gone.
"Nina," a voice called out, deep and steady. "What are you doing here, witch?" he demanded, though his tone lacked the venom it once had.
Nina's heart ached at the sight of him. "I'm not here to fight, Matthias. I'm here because I miss you."
Nina reached out, her fingers brushing against his arm. "I know. But I can't help it. I keep seeing you everywhere."
His gaze softened slightly. "I was your enemy once. Do you remember how we met?"
Nina nodded, her mind drifting back to that fateful encounter. She remembered the fear and adrenaline, the way they had circled each other like predators, each one waiting for the other to make a move.
"You were so determined to hate me," she said softly. "But we both changed, didn't we?"
He looked away, the hardness returning to his face. "We did. But some things can't be undone. My people, my duty... they were my life."
"And now?" she asked, her voice trembling.
"Now I'm gone," his words hitting her like a physical blow. "You need to let me go, Nina."
"You saved me, Matthias. More times than I can count. You brought me back from the brink," she said, tears streaming down her face. "But I couldn't save you."
Matthias reached out, his hand hovering over her cheek. "You did save me, Nina. You showed me a different way, a different path. Even if it was just for a moment."
Nina's heart clenched, the pain too much to bear. "I don't want to say goodbye."
"You have to," he whispered. "For both our sakes."
The snowstorm intensified, and Nina felt herself being pulled away, the image of Matthias fading into the blizzard. She tried to hold on, but the wind was too strong. The cold bit at her, and she heard her own gasping breath. She was falling.... falling .....
Nina's vision blurred, and she sank to the floor, Matthias' jacket slipping from her grasp.
"Nina?" Inej's voice broke through the haze, filled with concern.
Nina looked up to see Inej standing in the doorway, her friend's dark eyes filled with understanding and worry. "I'm okay," Nina lied, her voice hoarse from crying.
Inej stepped closer, picking up the jacket and handing it back to Nina. "You don't have to do this alone, you know."
Nina nodded, though she knew that this journey, this grief, was something she would have to face on her own terms. "I need to take him home, Inej. It's the least I can do."
"I will," Nina promised, though she wasn't sure how she would keep that vow. She felt like a part of her had been buried with Matthias, and the road ahead seemed impossibly long and cold.
Inej sat down beside her, the silence between them filled with unspoken words. "Do you remember when Oomen cut me?" Inej began softly.
Nina glanced at her friend, surprised by the sudden shift in conversation. "Of course. How could I forget?"
"I was so close to giving up," Inej continued. "I felt the darkness closing in, and I thought that was the end for me. But then you came, Nina. You healed me. You brought me back."
"I did what I had to," Nina said, her voice barely above a whisper.
"You did more than that," Inej insisted. "You showed me that there was still light, even in the darkest of times. You gave me hope when I had none."
Nina's tears flowed freely now. "Inej, I..."
Inej reached out, taking Nina's hand in hers. "You have that same strength, Nina. You can find your way through this. And you don't have to do it alone."
Nina squeezed her friend's hand, drawing comfort from the warmth of her touch. "Thank you, Inej."
Nina stood up, wiping her tears, and looked around the study. She had to be strong, for Matthias, for herself, and for those who believed in her. With a deep breath, she steeled herself for the challenges ahead.
Then, without warning, the sound of shattering glass echoed through the mansion, followed by a chilling voice that sent a jolt of fear through Nina's heart. She turned, eyes wide, as a shadowy figure emerged from the darkness.
"Nina Zenik," the voice hissed. "Did you really think you could escape me?
Nina's breath caught in her throat as the figure stepped into the light, revealing a face she never thought she'd see again.

My Analysis for this Picture
THIS IS WRONG. I AM FIGURING IT OUT. DONT BELIEVE ANYTHING I SAY. ILL EDIT THIS SOON.
Tumblr media
First of all, these are just my opinions. You can have your own. I can have my own.
And most of the things I will mention in this post are from my other posts and reblogs. (And I'll likely keep editing this if I find new information.)
Let's start with what I think is happening in this scene: I think this takes place in Kaz's room. The same exact place we see the De Kappel in the show. This is a sort of flashback. And Kaz is giving Inej her first knife after they managed to steal Van Eck's De Kappel painting as it is seen hanging on Kaz's wall.
Next, I will explain why I think this in terms of how it fits timeline-wise and why I disagree with other interpretations.
This will be in bullet form now for your attention span:
I don't think Kaz is removing his gloves or tying her vest here. That would stray too far from the timeline in the books. And if this scene was emotional in that sense, I know Freddy wouldn't act it as it looks in the picture. Kaz looks calm and collected without the jaw clenching and internal turmoil.
Notice how Inej has her hands behind her back. I don't think this fits current Kanej's dynamic (from where we left off in the show or started in the books). It feels like she still views and treats Kaz as her "boss", as show!Jesper calls him.
If you watch Episode 1 of the show when the De Kappel flashes on screen, you will see that the placement of the lamp and the painting are very similar as to this picture. The differences were that the walls were smoother, there was a fancier lamp, and the De Kappel was framed (in episode 1). All of these point to this picture happening before the Slat and the Crow Club finished renovating. This also makes sense if he were to give Inej her first knife early on.
A loophole in this theory is that I always assumed that Inej got her first knife way before she was competent enough to steal the De Kappel with Kaz. But I wouldn't put it past the show to do that.
My Other Thoughts
When I first saw the picture, it reminded me of the eye-contact, Inej-giving-Kaz-the-knife scene before she went to perform. That one. And if this picture is really Kaz giving Inej her first knife, there will be so much parallels and I'm excited for that. (x)
I think with the general vibe of the picture that Kaz will say something really poetic again, like the "No Saint ever watched over me, not like you have" quote. And if that happens, this will definitely be one of my favorite scenes. Also, we deserve a nice quote with the word "knives", don't you think? (x, x)
This is a stretch and absolute clownery. The scene from the teaser of Kaz in front of the De Kappel and this picture. I like to think there is a symbolism between Kaz wearing a coat and hat in the teaser while he was shrouded in darkness. While in this picture, Kaz isn't. (x)
This picture feels like a painting. Every Kanej scene is always so poetic and that was my initial reasoning. After staring at it more, I realized that when we compare the picture and just the De Kappel (which is present in the picture), they have a lot of similarities in color and pattern. There’s a sort of yellow light from the left in both pictures. The green on the walls remind you of the grass in the painting. And then there’s Kaz’s black clothing and there’s a sort of black near the right. (x)
And here is just my lengthy thread of reblogs that show how I came up with my theory. (x)

You know what🧐 I wouldn’t mind a “A Day in the Life of Frost/POV I ain’t gonna lie he has been growing on me😭 he really be there for reader and joker like he’s giving mad father figure vibes😭 plus I want to see him and his daughter’s interaction some more
His Lighthouse: A Frosty Outlook (LedgerJoker x f!reader)
A Frosty Outlook- Oneshot
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In this house we stan Frost. I was inspired to write this by this post lol. I hope you enjoy!
Side note: I suck at writing first person so its not a true POV but its still good. I had too much fun with this one but when don't I have fun?
There is a slight irregularity with this fic being canon with His Lighthouse. In the series chapter Fear Is the Only Way, Joker told Frost “I didn’t know you had a family...” to which Frost fired back saying “I didn’t know you had a girl.”
This is pure sarcasm, people. Joker knows that Frost has a daughter and Frost obviously knows that Joker has a (future) girlfriend. But denial is a river in Egypt. Once again, I hope you enjoy I made myself cross eyed trying to edit this in the dark lol.

There was no such thing as a day off when you work for a literal madman.
Frost knew that better than anyone as the right hand man to The Joker. Work never stopped. There was always someone to kill, money to collect, a city to burn, on top of personal errands and/or favors to run on Joker's behalf. There was always something to do.
There was hardly any time for a personal life which was why majority of the people under Joker's employ did not have families or loved ones. It interfered with work, made a person distracted, and Joker did not like distractions. However, Frost was an exception.
Frost and Joker went wayyy back and he was the closest thing to a friend that J had. Frost was the first henchman that Joker hired and a decade later, he was still the man to call on in any situation.
Trust and unwavering loyalty were forged from their mysterious bond and so rules that would normally apply to Joker's employees became more lax when it pertained to Frost.
He received a higher pay, had actual benefits and health care, and most importantly.. Frost was allowed days off. Not in the traditional sense– he never turned off his phone, but he was given time away from the gang to spend time with his family.
Joker would always be a priority in Frost's life but his little girl came first.
In the beginning she was a mistake. Frost was prepared to walk out on his lover at the time until she slapped a sonogram on the table.
The second Frost's eyes laid on his baby girl; he was a changed man. He thought about quitting Joker's gang but no one ever quits and remains alive, so he confronted Joker about his current dilemma.
"Who's baby? Eck, get rid of it." Joker cringed and kept walking into his office but stopped when Frost spoke up.
"She's mine, Joker. She's... I never asked you for anything so hear me out. I ain't giving her up and I'm not leaving your employ so.." The office was quiet as Frost's words tapered off.
Joker nodded and sat down at his desk. He knew Frost long enough to know the man's mind was made up. No ounce of torture was going to sway him and bribery didn't work on the guy.
Joker decided to compromise to keep his best employee.
"Fine. Keep it, buttttttttt on one con-dit-ion." J picked up the sonogram and tried his hardest to identify it as a human being. To him it looked like a grey blob but this blob meant so much to his fellow comrade.
"I get to name her." Joker said.
Frost quickly protested but after one look into Joker's demented eyes, he knew he had no say in the matter.
"It'll be my uhh, bargaining chip just in case ya ever try to walk away. Don't you think that's fair Frost-y? I name the kid and she and her.... uh mother don't wind up in a ditch. Deeeeal?"
Frost was making a deal with the devil but he couldn't lose his unborn girl. He'd explain this to his baby mama later, right now he leaned forward and shook hands with his boss.
He just hoped Joker didn't pick some outlandish name.
Tumblr media
"Don't forget your lunch, Gen."
Frost held up the overly decorated lunch bag outside the car window for his daughter to grab. She smiled in thanks and leaned forward to peck Frost on the forehead.
"Thanks Dad!"
He watched her disappear into the school with a rare smile on his lips. It quickly faded away when his phone rang. He had the ringtone memorized and answered it with a heavy sigh.
"Come. Get. Her before I.. I... shuT UP, Y/n!"
Frost heard you in the background shouting at his boss but he couldn't pick up anything you were saying. Regardless, you sounded upset.
The two of you were having another lover's spat and if Frost didn't come and break it up, Joker might do something he'd regret for the rest of his life.
Frost cranked up his truck and held the phone to his ear, "Don't commit any acts of murder, I'm on the way."
Times like this Frost truly believed he had three children instead of one. And just like that his rare day off was gone.
He arrived in the private apartment garage exactly twenty four minutes after he received Joker's call. Frost wasn't allowed up to your floor– no one was anymore– but this was an emergency. Frost would deal with getting yelled at later if it resulted in saving your life.
Hopefully you were still alive to save. Joker might be in denial but he loved you unconditionally. If he hurt you during one of his mood swings— Frost shuddered at the thought.
Frost nodded at his fellow henchman in passing as he called for the elevator to come pick him up. Joker took your safety very seriously and assigned a few of his most loyal men to work at your residence undercover as a first line of defense.
It would take a calculated and deliberate attack for someone to reach your private floor without Joker knowing about it.
Frost was walking off the elevator on your designated floor when the front door flew open.
You emerged dressed to the nines with a purse flung over your shoulder. Joker was hot on your heels until you spun around and told him off.
"Screw you and the plane you flew in on! Call me after you get some act right and not a minute before!!"
Frost interpreted his boss's glare as you boarded the elevator. Joker might be upset with you right now but the warning was clear.
Guard her with your life or I'll kill you.
Frost didn't need to be told to do his job. You gave Joker a purpose in life other than destroying the world. Frost respected you greatly and held you in high regard for that.
Frost would protect Joker's Light to his dying breath. You didn't need to know that though. Frost did have a reputation to uphold.
There was an awkward silence as the elevator door slowly enclosed you inside the lift with Frost. He covertly glanced down at you and met a head full of curls.
Today your voluminous hair was untamed and wild about your shoulders. The only thing styled was your baby hairs swept back in a carefree, but deliberate fashion with gel. A fitting style for your fiery mood. Your overall sense of fashion always fascinated him.
"Wanna talk about it?" Frost asked somewhere around the tenth and ninth floor down.
You sighed while shaking your head. "I'm sorry that he called you. I know today's your day off." You laughed at Frost's curious frown.
"I figured since it's his day off as well. You know I tried to get him to go out and do something legal with me but he just snapped saying, 'he's not normal so why bother? He doesn't do normal. I guess he's having one of those days today."
Both of you knew Joker's mood was unpredictable and his bad days were atrocious to deal with. Half the time you left the clown to his own devices until he was calm enough to tolerate, but today just your presence in the apartment set him off.
Joker needed alone time and you were okay with that. However you wouldn't let him talk to you any kind of way.
The floor numbers ticked lower and lower as you and Frost stood in silence. You glanced up at him lost in thought.
On the outside he was a terrifying guy. Tall, bulky frame with a permanent scowl on his face. His dark eyes and the deep scar that split his eyebrow made him appear unapproachable but you knew Frost had a heart of gold. He cared about Joker and subsequently you when he didn't have to. Frost lived up to his nickname but there was more to the guy. The writer in you could tell.
"Enough about him. I don't wanna ruin the day. Hey? What do you normally get into on your day's off?" You playfully nudged Frost's arm. The man didn't move an inch.
He was quick to reply. "Nothing."
The doors dinged open and he didn't wait up for you, he just started walking towards his truck. You were left behind to marvel at the giant vehicle that Frost expected you to climb into.
You were a short thing; even wearing heels, how did he expect you to...?
"Grab onto the sidebars and hop in. Geez.. if my daughter can do it, you can too." Frost grumbled from the driver's side.
You did as you were told with great difficulty and managed to buckle into your seatbelt. Then you ran back what Frost said.
"Daughter? Oh yeah! I remember you saying I'm stubborn just like her long ago. How is she?"
It was quiet in the cabin. You looked over at Frost finding that he was already staring at you. "What?"
His frown was deeper than normal. "Why are you asking?"
Granted no one in the gang knew about his daughter except you and Joker, it was still a shock to hear someone genuinely ask about her well-being. Frost made triple sure that no one knew about his little family of one.
But you were different. An aura surrounded you— heck it was the reason why Joker named you his Light– that just oozed out of you. You truly cared about people and you weren't going to let this go.
You rolled your eyes as Frost cranked up his truck. "Uh because I want to know how she's doing? That's why I asked. You never did mention how old she is."
Frost gave you a side eye as he drove out of the garage and onto Gotham City streets. He honestly had no idea where to take you. Joker didn't say where to go, just to come get you.
Frost waited until he was at a red light to answer your question as vaguely as possible. "I know I didn't."
You hummed and glanced out the window. It didn't take a scientist to understand that Frost's daughter was not a topic he wished to discuss but you weren't about to spend the rest of the day in absolute silence with him.
Frost was a difficult man to read. He was a man of few words and lived up to his descriptive name. You'd rather take a chance of Joker strangling you to death back at the penthouse than be stuck with his six foot something iceberg all day.
"Can I at least go shopping?" You ignored the low irritated sigh you heard from the driver. "If I had a female companion we could shop together and not bother my annoyed bodyguard on his day off."
The light turned green and you felt the truck shift gears as it moved. "No."
"Oh come on! She's fully aware of what you do so it's perfectly fine if she and I meet! Is she young? Still in school? Ooh, maybe in college? What's her major? You can at least tell me her name. C'mon Frost, give me something to work with!"
You faced him with a pout but then realized he wasn't Joker and that wouldn't work. You had no leverage with Frost. He was just as mysterious as J like two peas in a pod.
So you applied the same logic! Joker hated when you became quiet and closed yourself off.
You crossed your arms and continued looking out the passenger window in silence. It took a couple of city blocks but before long, you could see Frost glancing your way every odd minute or so.
"What're you over there thinking? Hey."
You turned your head so he couldn't see your grin. He couldn't see anything with your natural curls in the way.
Frost growled to himself as he kept driving. It had been no more than fifteen minutes since he picked you up and he was already at his wits end. No wonder Joker couldn't say no to you. You had to possess some kind of powers of coercion. There was no other explanation as to why Frost wanted to keep you happy.
"D__n you woman.." Frost said under his breath. He hoped he wouldn't regret this.
The truck veered roughly to the side as he made an illegal u-turn. Your body collided roughly into the door and you were about to give Frost a mouthful if not for his grumpy frown and death grip on the steering wheel.
You did not want two men angry at you on the same day so you sat back and let Frost drive you to who knows where.
He pulled the truck into a parking spot at a public school forty five minutes later.
You glanced around and arched an eyebrow in intrigue. He turned the truck off and made a show of pocketing the keys. Like you could drive this beast of a truck if you wanted to. You had on vintage platform heels. There was no way you were scuffing them up.
Frost faced you to sound off his rules. "Stay here. Don't get out. Don't talk to anyone. I'll be back." He ordered.
He didn't wait for your response, he just got out and stormed across the school lawn towards the entrance. And just because he was cruel, he mashed the lock button on his key fob, locking you inside.
First period wasn't over when Frost walked through the school's main entrance. Not many students were in the halls— most likely in class, but a few facility members stared at him in passing. It was hard not to.
Frost was used to the stares. He didn't necessarily blend in with the whole school aesthetic. He wasn't a PTA member or a doting father dropping off forgotten lunches.
He was a tall, burly man who screamed of trouble. It would be common sense to be wary or to call the police. His stony aura created a bubble around him and everyone kept a wide berth as he navigated the halls towards the admin office.
There was a woman seated at the front desk but shockingly she wasn't afraid when Frost walked up with a permanent frown carved on his face.
She just looked up and greeted him warmly. "Ah Mr. Myers! Did she forget her lunch this morning? I can take it to her after first period."
Ms. Tammy was always nice and never judged Frost by his appearance but rather by the way he cared for his daughter. Frost was a better father than the white collar dads on the school's chair board. He was alright in her book even if he didn't appear 'father material.'
"No. I want to pull Gen out for the day. Family emergency or whatever." Frost grumbled.
The school only allowed an allotted amount of excuses per school year, but his girl was an A+ student and never missed class. Today would actually be her first offense.
Ms. Tammy nodded and grabbed a form for him to fill out. "I understand. They deserve their days off too. Just sign that dear and I'll go fetch her for you."
Frost nodded and clicked a pen to use. Most of the fields didn't apply to him but it couldn't be left empty. He made up some passable excuse and half hardly signed his fake name on the dotted line. It only took him a minute to complete.
He was forever grateful that his daughter carried her mother's maiden name.
It was the only favor his ex managed to extend before she left without a trace. Legally, Gen wasn't tied to Frost and he preferred it that way should something bad ever happen and his enemies try and find a weakness of his.
In the meantime, he glanced around the admin office to pass the time.
The school wide bulletin board caught his eye. Nothing of importance was posted on the overly bright eyesore, but he did acknowledge the annual Father-Daughter dance that was scheduled in two month's time. He wondered if his daughter would like to attend before she got too old for the age requirement.
Probably not since she didn't want her friends knowing about her criminal dad.
Each year prior she made up an excuse to not go. Studying for a test, being too tired, etc. but Frost knew the truth. She'd be bullied and harassed if it came out he was her father.
Frost wished he could go to school events and be more proactive in her academics. He never missed recitals or science fairs but he was forced to watch from the shadows and not be seen as the supportive father he was.
It was the only drawback of his profession. Frost wasn't allowed to be normal, not even around his own child. Either way, he ripped a flyer off the board and shoved it into his pocket to bring up later.
He was brought out of his musing by Ms. Tammy returning into the office with a student in tow.
Frost's cold facade cracked at the sight of his daughter. She was the only thing in this life that could get a reaction out of him.
"Omg dad what's wrong? Ms.T said there was an emergency!"
Ms. Tammy giggled and returned to her post behind the desk. She noticed the dismissal form and tucked it into an organizer bin for later.
"Have a good day you two!" She waved them goodbye and resumed her work.
Frost said nothing as he nodded at his daughter to walk out the office. She rolled her eyes at her father's lack of response. It wasn't uncommon, he always explained things in private.
He made sure no one was watching as the both of them walked out the school and out to the parking lot. Gen was heading towards the front seat when Frost finally spoke up. "Get in the back." He urged.
"What, why? I always ride shotgun. Ooh! Does this mean I can drive today then?" She grinned in delight.
"No."
Gen pouted but hauled herself up to open the backdoor. One of these days dad was gonna say yes.
She froze the moment she saw someone in the passenger seat and her gasp made you turn around in shock.
You were jamming out to music playing from your phone when they came back. Your coloured eyes clashed with her brown ones. Frost watched the staring contest unfold with a sigh. This was exactly what he wanted to avoid. You were the first to break the rift.
"SHE IS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! ARE YOU SURE SHE'S YOURS?" You asked Frost.
He took offense to your question even if the resemblance was non-existent. It wasn't the first time someone questioned if his daughter was his and it wouldn't be the last.
"What the f__k is that supposed to mean?" He argued. You sucked your teeth and eyed the young girl again.
"Well..." You were going to state the obvious until the teenager in the backseat finally got over her shock and spoke up.
".... Dad. Who's this?"
Frost stared at the two females in his truck. It was best to get this over with. He sighed and turned to face the backseat a little better.
"Y/n, this is my daughter Genesis. Gen this is..." Frost stalled and the two of you looked at him, patiently waiting for an explanation.
You knew what Frost wanted to say and shot a nervous glance at his daughter. Genesis looked about seventeen yet wise beyond her years to know the truth. There was an uneasy gleam in her eye and you didn't want her thinking ill of you or her father. So you quickly came to Frost's defense.
He wasn't one to communicate delicate topics like this anyways.
"I'm his Boss's partner. It's nice to meet you!" You smiled at Gen and she breathed a sigh of relief.
"Oh bet. I thought you were f__king my dad. You are way too pretty for him." She turned to fasten her seatbelt and didn't notice her father's reaction. He was catching strays left and right today.
"Again. What the f__k is that supposed to mean?" He asked no one in particular.
"Nothing dad it's just.. I mean. Like you're an attractive guy..."
You noticed her struggling and added in your input. "8 of 10 would smash." You nodded. Frost looked at you in horror. Then you realized what you just confessed. "Oh God. Please don't tell him that."
"Do I look like I want to be murdered with a vegetable peeler?" The truck got awkward real quick as everyone imagined Joker killing someone with such a common kitchen tool. It was doable..
Genesis coughed. "Anyways.. I'm just glad there's nothing going on between the two of you but it doesn't explain why you pulled me from school today."
You raised your manicured hand. "Guilty! I wanted a shopping partner for the day!"
The truck was silent for a long stretch of time before Genesis turned to her dad with a serious expression. "Dad, is she like his bimbo or... what?"
Frost huffed and it was the closest thing to a laugh you ever heard from him. You were sitting next to a stranger right now. Frost never smiled. Ever. Much less laughed at something that was said.
You were seeing him with brand new eyes. It was refreshing to know his frosty exterior could melt to a normal human being underneath.
The comment was a bit funny since Frost thought the same thing about you the first time Joker invited him to your apartment.
Surrounded by luxury and on the top floor no less, Frost thought that you were just a run of the mill bimbo that Joker was taking advantage of. He'd seen you from your tv appearances. You were just a waft of a girl, always dressed up in pretty things– batting your long lashes and drawing silly hearts next to your signatures.
If Frost went by appearances only he would have labeled you a bimbo and kept it moving.
Frost was ready to kill you off the second Joker snapped his fingers but then you showed your true colors and captured everyone under your spell.
Whether he admitted it or not, Joker fell in love with you and Frost hadn't seen his old companion this happy in decades. You unlocked something good within Joker and as a result, you earned respect in Frost's book.
He'd do anything to keep you safe and happy so you could continue to shine a light on Joker.
You were a perfect match for the Clown Prince of Crime even if you acted like an airhead sometimes. It was a part of your character; however, you were educated behind your designer threads and jewels.
Frost had to give you some credit.
"No. Y/n is actually a Gotham City's best selling author. She wrote that novel you like. The one with the archer I think." He cranked up the truck.
They wasted too much time chatting. It was time to go. Gen's jaw dropped and she leaned over the console to stare at you more closely. How could she be so dense not to notice you?!
"Wait? You're that Y/n?! Omg, WHB was such a page tuner! And like Hunter is so hawt! Like, chase me in the woods anytime papi, hot! Ugh and that cabin scene when he—" She glanced at her father distracted by driving before stage-whispering to you.
"The smut was immaculate." She giggled into your ear.
You burst out laughing and had to cover your mouth when Frost sent you an annoyed glare.
He drowned out the sound of you two gossiping to focus on the road. He only interrupted the 'juicy' book discussion to ask what store you wanted to go to first.
He already knew your favorites from previous trips and from his time on security detail, yet you surprised him by picking one of Genesis' favorites.
Frost glanced through the rearview mirror at Gen. She was none the wiser given that she was too busy smiling and getting along with you. It was as if the two of you were lifelong friends catching up on old times.
Frost assumed you two would click since the age difference was less than ten years.
He just was happy that his girl had someone to talk to, at least for the day. Genesis didn't bring home any friends (for obvious reasons) nor did she talk about any. If she didn't excel in her academics, Frost would've been concerned. It was only natural for a father to be worried about their daughter's social growth. He didn't want his occupation to stunt Genesis' upbringing.
Frost was turning into a parking space in the mall's parking lot when he heard your probing question.
"Genesis, is there any special occasion coming up you wanna shop for?" Your kind smile was gentle and patient, knowing the teenager was hesitant to answer. You were her age before, you knew why.
"Well um..."
"Come on, 'Sis, don't be shy! It's just you and me and the grumpy chaperone pretending not to listen." You turned to glare at Frost. "Can you not?"
He narrowed his brown eyes and tried not to bare his teeth at you. He knew that tone. You wanted him out of the picture.
Like that was happening. He honestly didn't like having you out at such a public place. This was gonna make his job all the more harder trying to protect you and his little girl but it wouldn't be impossible.
He thought you would know the rules by now, "Boss's orders. You don't leave my sight."
"Frost, we will be fine. If I feel like I'm in danger, I'll scream. Go.. I dunno, check out some knives or whatever men do at malls." You snickered and Genesis joined in from the backseat.
She didn't understand why you needed security but that due to her being in the dark regarding Joker's gang. She knew her dad was a criminal, the worst of the worst, but he was still her father in her eyes. The level of danger you could be in went right over her head.
Knowing that her dad was technically on the clock right now was a hard concept to grasp. She glanced at him, noticing his guarded glare and sharp eyes already scanning the area as everyone got out the truck.
It was cool to see him in his element of sorts.
Although she felt wholly underdressed in her jeans, graphic tee, and chucks standing next to you.
You looked like a dark skinned doll wearing a light colored pleated skirt that fluttered in the wind. Your ensemble was preppy chic teetering on Lolita and it didn't help that your hair tumbled down your back just like a doll. She admired your soft aesthetic with your winged collar, lace bow ties, and pearl accessories.
Everything just worked perfectly to create an adorable outfit.
You adjusted your cardigan better and checked your lip gloss in the truck's back window. Your naïve humming floated in the air.
Both Frost and Gen looked on in a mixture of intrigue and exasperation.
"You look fine. Let's go." Frost grumbled.
He averted his eyes from your adorable pout. He was not Joker, he would not crack under your charm. Frost did crack a smile when you and Genesis walked into the mall linking arms like two high schoolers.
With your dumb outfit and short stature, at least you looked the part.
Tumblr media
He didn't let the two of you out of his sight but he took your disapproving glare as a sign to back off some. People were beginning to stare at the scary looking guy following two girls around.
Frost became a shadow as you and Genesis filtered around the mall, ooh and ahhing at every little thing that caught your eye. He lost count how much of Joker's money you blew through. Quite frankly Frost didn't care. His job was to hold the bags that the two of you couldn't carry and keep you safe.
Frost wasn't too upset about his current degrading role.
Genesis' happiness was his only concern and today he got to see a rare smile brighten her face. She was laughing and having fun like someone her age should. She needed female bonding time and you were definitely making up for years of neglect.
He lost sight of the two of you during his musing and quickly went into a calm but panic induced mode.
You watched Frost rush the opposite way of where you and Genesis were currently hiding.
"Um. I don't think this is a good idea.. Dad said to stay in his line of sight." Genesis' brown eyes shifted down to the potted plant she hid behind. You waited until Frost was long gone before standing up and brushing off your pleated skirt.
"It'll be fine 'Sis! I remember when I was your age. Sneaking off at the mall to shop at specific stores was virtually impossible with my parents around. Now! Are you going to that Father-Daughter dance your school is having?"
Gen quickly grew defensive, "How did you know about that?" She hadn't mentioned it in conversation but you waved off her concern.
"Your dad sucks at hiding things. I saw the flyer when he got in the truck. It's formal attire so you need a jaw dropping dress that he totally won't approve of but will make all the girls in your class jealous! I know just the store too."
Your e/c gleamed under the mall's bright lights. It had been a while since you got to dress someone up. Gen's hesitant hum though made you pause.
"Well actually I don't wanna make her jealous. M-More like I wanna impress her, like really impress her.." Genesis winced at your stupefied look. She honestly didn't expect you to understand.
It took you a few seconds to process her statement.
"Oh." You said. "Okay, that changes things. You need something eye catching, I gotcha! Same store so let's–"
You were about to walk off when Genesis grabbed your arm, stopping you in your tracks. She was still rather bashful yet somewhat hopeful when she met your eye.
"Woah wait a min, Y/n! Don't think that's like... weird? I just said I wanted to impress a girl? Not a guy." Her hand fell from your arm as she picked at her nails. It was a nervous habit she was trying to grow out of.
One you filed away for later. Your heels clicked sharply on the mall's linoleum floor and your mess of curls fell off your shoulder when you tilted your head in confusion.
"And? Genesis. I'm dating a psychopath who frequently dresses up in a nurse outfit, wig and all. I'm in no position to judge your preference for a partner." You laughed but quickly frowned when Gen groaned in frustration.
"No no no! That's the thing!! I read your trilogy and I'm attracted to Hunter. Strong, dominant, alpha guys are hot but I also like how Jordan makes me feel. She's... ugh. You remind me a lot of her. Bubbly, confident, always wearing pretty outfits like she's going to GC fashion week and not English 1 at eight o'clock in the morning. She's so pretty and I probably don't stand a chance but I wanna try!"
You eyed Genesis differently as she stood before you coming out yet still unsure of herself. Your lips parted to speak but she cut you off, going on another nervous rant.
"I'm just so afraid and not about asking her out but of what my dad will say! Like, I'm his perfect girl! I get perfect grades, I don't get into trouble, and I'm home before the street lights come on! I already have pending scholarships! Y/n, what if he doesn't approve?" Gen switched to picking at her lips.
Your heart went out to her but you still didn't see the problem. You playful scoffed and replied.
"Again, Genesis. Your dad works for that same psychopath who dresses up as a nurse. Frost has seen plenty of things in his line of business. I don't think he'll judge you. And guess what? It's your choice so if he shockingly disapproves, then tell him to shove it and move in with me. Now.. I think... blue is your color. I feel a rich indigo would bring out your melanin and I'm here for it. That is, if you want to wear a dress? I honestly don't wanna assume again."
You sent Genesis a sympathetic smile but jumped when she tackled you in a hug.
You almost lost your balance since the girl was taller than you even in heels. Just what were they feeding kids these days..
She sang out a string of thank yous and rocked you in her arms. You patted her on the back and wheezed out a 'can't breathe.'
"Sorry." Gen let you go. She watched your lashes flutter as you caught your breath. "Yeah, umm. I haven't worn a dress in ages. C-Can you help me find one?"
She regretted asking the moment she saw your eyes light up like fireworks. Shopping with you was both fun and exhausting.
Tumblr media
The scolding the both of you received once Frost found you exiting a high end lingerie store was epic. Frost literally had steam coming out his ear, he was so furious.
"I thought since you're an adult you would have some common sense Y/n! I told you not to leave my sight and the two of you wandered off for two hours! F__k you're a terrible influence. If something had happened, not only would he kill me, he'd kill Gen for being involved. Is that what you want? Murder all around?"
Genesis felt awful but wisely hid her racy purchases behind her back until her dad was in a better mood.
She hated when he was angry but she had no dog in this fight. She told you it was a bad idea to shake off dad's surveillance.
You on the other hand were used to being yelled at. Joker gave you plenty of practice.
You simply rolled your eyes. "Frost stop overreacting. Nothing happened so don't dwell on the past. We got far more shopping done with you not slowing us down. Anyhoo we're done here and.." You glanced down at your phone vibrating in your purse.
It was a string of text messages from J beginning with an apology along with questionable promises on how he could make up for his mistakes.
You did not want him killing a prominent political member in your name. You did consider his offer on buying you a pig. They were cute!
"I'm needed back home. Can you drop me off?" You asked Frost. His right eye was twitching.
You gave him headaches. He strangled the air in front of you, "I don't get paid enough for this." He growled.
You waved goodbye to Genesis as you walked into your apartment building an hour later. Two workers followed behind you carrying your many shopping bags.
Gen crawled into the front seat as Frost shifted gears to leave. It was a long day and he just wanted to go home and relax after babysitting you.
"H-Hey dad. Can I ask you something?" Gen asked. His soft hum was the only acknowledgment she would receive.
"Do you know that Father-Daughter dance at school– the one we never go to each year? Well, I've been thinking.. I kinda wanna go this year."
She snuck a glance over the console but Frost was still focused on traffic. He didn't show any signs of listening but still, she continued.
"I know its kinda last minute being its like in two months away and your... boss? Master? He who shall not be named? Whatever you call him, he doesn't like last minute requests but I wanna go. Can we?"
Frost sighed as the truck idled at a red light.
It was then he glanced over at his little girl. He was so lucky to have her. Genesis didn't look anything like him and he was forever grateful. He didn't want to curse her with his shortcomings because her beauty was so refined.
Genesis was all aristocratic lines and sharp features, perfectly balanced by her mother's warm complexion and hooded eyes. Gen had the face of ancient statues with deep rooted secrets evident in her full upturned lips and mirth forever shining in her dark brown eyes.
Frost often thought back to the day Joker named his daughter. The psychotic clown snuck into the labor and delivery floor to claim his end of the deal.
Frost stalled as long as he could when the nurses asked what to name his child and they found it odd that the mother didn't offer any input. The birth certificate was left blank until the middle of the night for J to come fill.
His green eyes were unreadable as he glared at the bouncy baby girl wide awake, waiting for him.
Frost was beyond terrified when Joker picked up his unnamed girl but shockingly the clown held her right and entered a staring contest with the infant.
Not once did she cry and much to Frost's horror, she smirked at Joker as if she knew something he didn't.
"Genesis." J mumbled.
"What?" Frost probably heard that wrong. Was that the name Joker had picked?!
Frost was expecting something stupid like initials that spelled out TNT or a play on words like, Dianamite. Joker was full of surprises after all. One couldn't be too sure.
Joker purred as he tickled Gen's cheek with his makeup stained hands. She cooed back and tried wiggling out her swaddle wrap to interact with this strange looking man.
"She's the ahh, beginning, to something greaT, Frosty. It's up ta her to figure out what."
And so Genesis was named.
Times like this Frost could see why Joker picked it. She was confident in her decision as if she already foreseen the outcome. Once she arrived at the dance with her father, it would open up a can of worms and questions, but she was ready to tackle them head on.
He couldn't be more proud.
Frost nodded sagely. "Hm, Good thing I bought a tux already. Y/n said to make sure it coordinated with something blue."
Genesis blinked before bursting out laughing. Of course you planned this.
She wouldn't expect anything else from a remarkable woman like you. You unknowingly brought her closer to her father in just one day. And tomorrow Gen would have the strength to come out to him.
"Yeah. Blue is perfect, dad."

you don't want to know my hurt yet
read it on AO3 at https://ift.tt/R1vJPSo by heart_that_shines_like_a_hobbits “Wy--what are those?” “What are what?” He asked absentmindedly as he searched for something clean to wear. Morning light shone through the windows as Kaz waited impatiently by the fireplace. They were going to debrief their latest mission. Kaz had stopped by and was waiting while Wylan and Jesper got ready for the day. “On your back...” Jesper trailed off as Wylan craned his neck, trying in vain to see whatever Jesper was referencing. Jesper stopped him as he turned around, and fingers lightly traced invisible lines across his spine. He stilled and caught Kaz’s eyes. The older man looked away after a moment, but Wylan knew he was thinking back to their previous conversation. Of course he was. Keep in mind that a mans just as good as his word. It takes twice as long to build bridges you burn. And there is hurt you can cause time alone cannot heal. Keep your nose on the grind stone and out of the pills.

Conversation
We don't talk about Brekker
(I don't know if anyone did this before but... I was inspired)
Zoya: We don't talk about Brekker, no, no, no
We don't talk about Brekker, but...
It was my wedding day...
Nikolai: It was our wedding day!
Zoya: We were getting ready
And there wasn't a cloud in the sky!
Nikolai: No clouds allowed in the sky!
Zoya: Brekker walks in with a mischievous grin...
Nikolai: Thunder!
Zoya: You're telling the story or am I?
Nikolai: I'm sorry, my love, please go on!
Zoya: Brekker says, "It looks like rain"
Nikolai: Why did he tell us?
Zoya: In doing so, he floods my brain...
Nikolai: Genya get the umbrellas!
Zoya: Married in a hurricane!
Nikolai: What a joyous day but anyway...
Both: We don't talk about Brekker, no, no, no
We don't talk about Brekker!
Jesper: Hey, grew to live annoyed by Kaz counting kruge and grumbling,
I can always hear him sort of muttering and mumbling,
I associate him with the sound of falling sand, ch-ch-ch!
It's a heavy weight the past he is carrying,
Always left the Dregs and the whole crew fumbling,
Grappling with suicidal plans we couldn't understand
Do you understand?
Matthias: A six-foot frame, crows along his back,
When he calls your name it all fades to black!
Yeah, he sees your dreams and feasts on your screams, (Hey!)
We don't talk about Demjin, no no no, we don't talk about Demjin!
Rollins: He told me my empire would fall, the next day, doomed!
Ensemble: No, no!
Per Haskell: He told me he'd taken my place and just like he said!
Ensemble: No, no!
Jarl Brum: He said that all my hair would disappear, now, look at my head!
Ensemble: Hey, no, no!
Your fate is sealed when he starts one of his plans!
Nina: He told me that he needed my help
and he'd free my love from Hellgate...
He told me that I had crumbs on my chest
But I was way too hungry to care...
Kuwei: Oh damn, I've just burnt a whole field!
Inej: Bad for me, he's the man of my dreams
But he's just out of reach...
Betrothed to his business!
I'm still in love with him though...
Van Eck: Hey son, I want not a sound out of you!
Inej: I do still love him though...
I still love him though!
Wylan: Um, Brekker
Yeah, about that Brekker
I really need to know about Brekker
Give me the truth and the whole truth, Brekker!
Jesper: Nina, honey, your True Love's here!
Nina: Time for waffles!
Matthias: A six-foot frame, rats along his back (...)
Zoya: It was my wedding day (...)
Nikolai: It was our wedding day (...)
Nina: He told me that he needed my help (...)
Jesper: Grew to live annoyed by Kaz counting kruge and grumbling (...)
Kuwei: Oh shit this time I've burnt the woods!
Inej: Bad for me, he's the man of my dreams but he's just out of reach...
Betrothed to his business, his business...
All the Crows, obviously lying: And I'm fine, and I'm fine, and I'm fine, I'm fine!
Ensemble: He's here!
Don't talk about Brekker!
Wylan: Why did I talk about Brekker?
Ensemble: Not a word about Brekker!
Wylan: I never should have brought up Brekker!

My guide to Yorkshire slang (because I'm bored and if I see the arctic monkeys stans doing it wrong again I'm gonna cry):
settee: sofa/couch
owt: anything
nowt: nothing
anall: as well
ta: thanks
put wood in't 'ole: shut the door
lad: boy
lass: girl
mardy: mad, in a mood
be reyt: basically means be alright but we use it in any sense if something goes wrong
summat: something
ey up: just a greeting
chuffin': sort of like a swear word but not- you use it to express annoyance e.g. "chuffin' 'ell"
butty: bap, sandwich, whatever u wanna call bread
lug 'ole: basically ear but it's mostly used when parents say "you'll get a clip roun' t' lu 'ole"
tha'nos: you know (bit of a general definition but it'll do)
thee, tha, thou: you e.g. "does tha' want owt from t' chippy?"
'ow do: how do ya do, but it's not a literal question
'eck/eckers: basically replaces 'heck' e.g. "did 'e 'eck!" is a statement of disbelief
cunt: couldn't (I know, but there's no other way I can write it)
wunt: wouldn't
shunt: shouldn't
dunt: doesn't
sup wier: what's up with you (usually asked when someone looks upset or annoyed)
arse end: middle of nowhere
gander: to look e.g. "let's 'ave a gander"
monk on: when someone's being arsy (you usually only hear old white men saying this about their wives though)
reyt/reyt good: really good
ta'ra: see you later/bye
si'thi: see you later
tha sen/me sen: yourself/myself e.g. "I've 'it me sen on't 'ead"
We also drop the letter 'H' and 'T', so have becomes 'ave and that becomes tha' (make sure you're replacing them with a glottal stop thought, else you sound weird
we also don't use the word 'the' very often. So "I'm going to the shop" becomes "I'm off t' shop"
I'm also sounds more like 'am'

Saying that Kaz was worried was understatement. Kaz was totally panicked and for the first time in his life he didn't know what to do. He couldn't solve the problem with force as usual, right? But, come on this kid was his son, he couldn't be that bad as others. Kaz wanted to believe in this but for him children were only little devils.
'Don't make such a face, Kaz,' said y/n and took her suitcase. 'This is your son and I'll be back for three weeks. Bye.'
It took Kaz a moment to realise that previously she had been saying about two weeks not three.
'Wait! y/n!' He ran after her but she had already gone. 'Fuck!'
'Fuck,' Kaz heard a childish voice.
She will kill me, he thought and looked down at the boy.
Jordan Kaz Brekker – this name was chosen by Kaz – looked like a miniature copy of his father. Except that he was smiling... and he didn't have a bad haircut.
'Jordie, this is a very bad word. Only adults can say it,' he crouched ignoring the pain in his leg.
'Fuck,' he said with a smirk and Kaz just sighed. At least he knew that his son wasn't stupid and he did this deliberately.
'Jordie, when your mother hears this she will be mad, so please, stop,' he asked and Jordie frowned.
'What will I have from this?' the boy replied. Kaz didn't know what to say. He was proud but on the other hand he was being blackmailed by his seven-year-old son.
'And what do you want?' He raised his eyebrow. Jordie was thinking for a while before he said:
'Hot chocolate.'
'Okay kid, it's a good deal,' they shook their hands. 'But before that, we need to change your look. You don't look like a true Brekker.'
Tumblr media
Of course, Kaz couldn't just walk through Ketterdam with Jordie. That's why he used a tunnel which connected the Slat with the Crow Club and Van Eck's mansion. He knocked at the door and it was opened by Wylan.
'Kaz, what are you doing here?' he asked and let them in.
'I need small black clothes and hot chocolate,' he explained. Wylan looked at him with surprise.
'For who?'
'For him,' Kaz put his hand on Jordie's arm.
'Who is this, Wy?' they heard Jesper's voice. 'Kaz junior!'
'Uncle Jes!' The boy ran to him and hugged his legs. 'Dad promised me hot chocolate if I don't tell mom that he taught me say fuck.'
'Kaz!' outraged Wylan.
'Jordie, you weren't supposed to say that,' moaned Kaz. 'So Wylan, do you have small black clothes? I have to make this young man a real Brekker,' he changed the topic.
'I should have some. Come with me,' replied Wylan.
Tumblr media
'You look like Kaz senior, Kaz junior,' said Jesper.
'Yeah, I know! That's great, right?' He turned around to his father. 'All I need is a cane and the Dreg's tattoo!'
'No canes and no tattoos,' the older Brekker objected. 'Your mother is gonna kill me anyways. I won't give her another reason.'
'Where is y/n?' asked Wylan and put a cup of hot chocolate in front of Jordie.
'In Ravka. She said that she has to get something done, but I think it's just a tea party,' he explained.
'I'm in awe that she left him with you,' said Wylan.
'I'm his father Wylan,' Brekker made a comment, but he only shugged his shoulders.
'Hey Kaz junior wanna learn something? Your father is great at this,' offered Jesper and Jordie wasn't interested in his hot chocolate anymore.
'What are you up to this time, Jesper?' Kaz really didn't want his son to be hurt and he also wanted to live.
'You said that you want to make him a real Brekker,' he answered with a smile.
Tumblr media
'Okay Jordie, it's not that easy as it looks but you can do this,' began Kaz. He didn't know why he had agreed on this, because Jordie was only seven years old, but sooner or later he would have taught him this anyway. 'You have to just walk to this man, shove hand into his pocket and take out the wallet, you understand?'
'Bring it on, Kaz junior!' Jesper was too excited about the whole situation which couldn't be said about Wylan. He decided to stay at home and threatened that he will write a letter to y/n.
'Listen Jordie, if you don't want to do this then don't,' said Kaz when he saw the boy's hesitation.
'Oh, come on, little Brekker, you can do it,' protested Jesper. Kaz gave him a murderous look.
'I'm not sure,' Jordie replied and hid behind his father's legs.
'Then we're coming back to the Slat.' Kaz turned away. The boy followed him holding the end of his coat, whereas Jesper was straggling, unhappy.
When they came back, Kaz got down to work while Jordie was watching him in silence. Younger Brekker felt remorse so he decided to do something nice. He got up from his chair and walked to the door.
'Where are you going?' Kaz asked without raising his eyes.
'Downstairs,' he replied and his father nodded.
After he got on the ground floor of the Slat he walked to the bar.
'One cup of coffee, please,' he asked, but the barman raised his eyebrow.
'Aren't you too young for coffee?'
'It's not for me. It's for my dad,' Jordie explained and rolled his eyes. He didn't like people who asked unnecessary questions.
'Who is your father?' The barman continued, but he started doing the coffee.
'You shouldn't be interested in it,' he answered. When the coffee was ready he put one coin on the counter. Then he started mounting the stairs. It was very hard for him, but after a few minutes he was at the top floor again.
'I've got you a cup of coffee,' Kaz looked at him, surprised.
'You didn't have to,' he replied, but made a place on his desk where the boy could put the drink.
'I've thought that you are mad,' he mumbled and Kaz just sighed.
'Sit down, kid, we need to talk,' said the older Brekker. 'Don't be concerned about that. You will do this when you'll be ready, alright?'
'I know that it's important to you,' the boy answered, but he wasn't looking at his father.
'Look at me Jordie,' younger Brekker followed his order, but he did it reluctantly. 'You can do this again in a week, a year or three and you shouldn't care. I know that one day you will do this because it's necessary to survive in Ketterdam. And now go practice lock picking, I have work to do.'
Tumblr media
After three days, Jordie still wasn't ready, but he didn't feel comfortable with this whole situation. Young Brekker thought that he let his father down and he couldn't stand it.
'Shouldn't you be practising lock picking?' asked Kaz after his son walked in.
'I'm ready,' he lied. 'I'll do this today.'
'Are you sure?' Kaz knew the boy had lied, but that was Jordie's decision. He nodded in the answer.
After a while they were standing near the Goedmedbridge. They took Jesper with them. He was too excited again.
'Remember what I told you?' The older Brekker asked. 'You ha-'
'I remember,' Jordie interrupted him and he started walking to a random man, but Kaz stopped him.
'Not that fast, Jordie. If you pick the wrong person, I will have problems. The last thing I need at the moment is the gang violence,' he was looking at the crowd for the moment. 'Man in yellow vest.'
'Who is this?' asked Jesper when Jordie wandered.
'He plays in the Crow Club. In case something goes wrong, I have something on him.'
'Hey, you!' they heard. Kaz sighed, but Jesper… Jesper shouted at the top of his voice:
'Run, Kaz junior! Run!'
'Shut up, Jesper,' snapped Kaz. Then Jordie fell down and the man in yellow vest collared him.
'Give me my wallet back, bastard.'
'Kaz do something,' said Jesper. The older Brekker sighed again, but he walked to the man.
'Any problem?' He asked and the man immediately changed his behavior, but it was visible that he was still angry.
'Mr Brekker,' he was surprised. 'This little bastard stole my wallet.'
'Watch your mouth, you're talking about my son,' the man was floored. He let Jordie go, but stood there and looked at Kaz with terror.
'I'm so sorry Mr Brekker, I didn't know about it,' he choked out.
'Of course you didn't,' Kaz snorted and took out money from his wallet. 'This is for insulting my son,' he gave him back an empty wallet. 'And now, go away.'
'Keep it,' Kaz gave Jordie a roll of kruge, after the man had gone. 'This is your first stolen money.'
