i always liked to imagine that they had no idea it existed for a good while until one day they were just out on a walk and Kaz Brekker popped up from the ground.

Wylan in Crooked Kingdom: Until this moment, Wylan hadn't quite understood how much they meant to him. His father would have sneered at these thugs and thieves, a disgraced soldier, a gambler who couldn't keep out of the red. But they were his first friends, his only friends, and Wylan knew that even if he'd had his pick of a thousand companions, these would've been the people he chose. Wylan Van Eck - Anna of Cleves. She got rejected for being too ugly. He got banished because he couldn't read. Do i even need to elaborate? Her song (esp her verse in six) could literally be rewritten to suit Wylan like

Jesper Fahey - Jane Seymour. Jane knows Henry might not love her if it weren't for her son. Jesper knows his father might love him more if he wasn't Grisha, if he didn't have the one thing that took the love of Colm's life away. Jane loving Henry anyways despite. Jesper doing the same with his father. *SOBS*

Matthias Helvar - Catherine of Aragon. OH. GODS LIKE. "you must agree that baby in all the times i've been by your side (Fjerda). "I've never lost control (never questioned), no matter how many times i knew you lied (no matter how many times he saw the faults and barbaric teachings of Fjerdan ideologies). "If you can just explain A single thing I've done to cause you pain, I'll go" *silence* (Fjerda pulling a King Henry and banishing Matthias) . NOooooo. WAY.

Nina Zenik - Anne Boleyn. PURE VIBES. . LIKE I CAN easily imagine nina going "LIKE WAHT WAS I MEANT TO DO?" When Matthias confronted her about Hellgate. Then going "LIKE OMG GUYS HE ACTUALLY WANTS TO CHOP (//choke) MY HEAD OFF" when matthias tried to kill her. Plus, "grew up in the French court" (nina grew up in the Royal Palace), "life was a chore so she set sail" (went to the borders)

Inej Ghafa - Katherine Howard. Kaz and Inej's could easily switch. I mean, although Katherine suits Inej more, with the "all you wanna do" motifs going on, it could also be reinterpreted for Kaz as all they (Pekka) wanted to do was milk him of his money. Either way they get sold/manipulated for something and ended up suffering for it. For Inej it was years of abuse and sa. For Kaz it was loosing his brother and learning how to survive Ketterdam alone.

Kaz Brekker - Catherine Parr. Again, could easily be switched with Inej with the "I'm much more than my trauma, I fought for (in Catherine Parr's case, women's education,..etc)". Inej going on to becoming more than the Menagerie girl she was forced to be (a slaver hunter, the Wraith..etc). Kaz going onto be much more than the scared naive little boy he once was.Although this also could easily go for all the crows, I feel like it suits Kaz and Inej more, since their trauma and backstory is more or less prominent and relates to hers more.

Six of Crows cooking headcanons:

Kaz: Kaz knows a few basics but he’s generally not that good of a cook. He was pretty young when his parents died and he didn’t really get to learn to cook in the Barrel for obvious reasons. He mostly relied on stealing food until he was able to actually buy it so he kinda just never learned to cook for himself.

Inej: One of 2 Crows who can cook. She definitely learned a bunch of recipes from her family from the time she was really little and cooking helps her feel closer to her family when she’s in the Barrel and misses them.

Jesper: I like to believe he’s the best cook of the Crows. He grew up in the kitchen with his mom and picked stuff up from her, and after she died he cooked for Colm most nights. (I know it mentions him cooking poorly the night his mom died but I think that has more to do with him grieving than his actual ability to cook). He does all the cooking for him and Wylan.

Wylan: This boy cannot cook. He grew up in a mansion and had chefs cooking for him. I think Marya probably could cook because the Kerch value work, but Van Eck didn’t want her to teach Wylan. He picks up a little bit post CK when he’s living with Jesper and Marya is back home, but he definitely couldn’t cook growing up.

Matthias: Matthias probably knows how to cook over a fire or something from being a Druskelle, but not much about cooking in an actual kitchen or anything. I get the impression that Fjierden men don’t often know how to do housework type stuff like cooking or sewing, so he just wasn’t raised to know how to cook. He definitely enrolls him and Nina in a couple’s cooking class somewhere though.

Nina: Canonically she cannot cook, I think there’s a few reasons behind it. First of all, similarly to Wylan, she grew up having people cook for her and wasn’t really in the kitchen. She also just strikes me as someone who would get distracted too easily in the kitchen and forget about her food until it’s burning. I also just think she’s got the mindset of, “you do the cooking and I’ll sit on the counter and look pretty,” partially to annoy Matthias and partially because she’s just not that interested in cooking.

Kuwei: He didn’t learn to cook much growing up and isn’t particularly interested in it, but he pretends he is when Jesper is cooking so that he’s got an excuse to follow him around. Jesper finds it annoying but puts him to work chopping things up, (he cut off his finger once and Nina had to fix it), and Wylan absolutely hates it.
