Sunlight

It is getting to that point in the year where we move into the shortest evenings of the season. Here in northeast Oklahoma that is November 30th through December the 10th where the sun sets at 5:09pm(total daylight is 9 hours and 47 minutes) then on the 11th the sunset gains a minute with 5:10, however the shortest day here will be December 21st which actually does fall on the winter solstice. Generally it is 3 to 5 days before, this year on the 21st we get a total of 9 hours and 42 minutes of daylight, yet by this time the evening sun is setting at 5:13 which is 4 minutes more than the shortest evenings back at the first week in December. Enjoy those early cozy sunsets coming up. Just thought I would pass it along since this all gets lost in the holiday hussle and bussle.

"you should wake up early to watch the sun rise!" is actually the dumbest possible way to guilt trip people into getting up early. hello, the sunset? exists too? every day even. and is equally gorgeous. and fits into many people's free time. you're awake, work's over and holyshit--THATSA SUNSET BABY!!!
