BLOG TOUR: Immortal Dark by Tigest Girma (BOOK REVIEW)
This was quite an interesting one. I fully thought I’d rate it 3 stars and then when I wrote down my thoughts I realised a higher rating was indeed necessary! Thanks so much to TBR and Beyond Book Tours for a spot on the blog tour and a review copy.

A summer romance. A mistaken identity. An awkward problem.
On the upcoming anniversary of a career-ending accident, Illiana Hastings, a formerly gifted ballerina is encouraged by her best friend to join her on vacation to the west coast. Upon arriving, Illiana meets Emmett King and feels an instant attraction through banter about romance books and their tropes.
As Emmett and Illiana begin seeing each other, they agree it’s just for the summer, but shortly after Emmett realizes a fling is not enough—and he’s pretty sure he’s falling in love with her.
To make matters worse, he realizes they made an error with a miscommunicated identity, and it begins to affect some of his closest relationships.
All the while, Illiana is struggling, because she’s not supposed to stay, and she never meant to fall in love.

𝚁𝚎𝚟𝚒𝚎𝚠:
Super cute and endearing romance novel ✨️ With a good writing on top of it and a set of well written characters with good relationships to back it 🤚🏽
Emmett and Illiana are just so cute together 👌 The chemistry was already there upon first meet, and their exchange was just fun ♥️
Other than that, the characters were also amazing, I love how they feel home towards Illiana, even though there's someone there who's an ass, I love that they don't take bullshit from him.
This novel also tackles disorder and parent neglect, so be mindful of that when reading this book.
Overall, this was good 👌 I'm excited to read from this author ♥️
Not to be ill about zoro and luffy in wano again, but can we talk about zoro talking to luffy with his captain still positioned between his arms? Not even trying to put his captain down, but just lowkey adjusting his position (cuz he was out of breath)
If anyone was going to understand leaving the Order, it would be Obi-wan.
If anyone was going to understand wanting to leave because he’d fallen in love, it would be Obi-wan.
If anyone was going to understand what it was like to be put under the microscope of the High Council, have every action he’d ever made inspected, every word he’d said scrutinized… it would be Obi-wan.
If anyone was going to understand mistrusting the orders of the Council, it would be Obi-wan.
Obi-wan who:
Actually left the Order once because he saw people who needed help, and orders went against everything he’d ever been taught about being a Jedi.
Had to beg for help after leaving the Order to help a bunch of kids try to survive a civil war, and then had to beg to be allowed back into the Order, and to be taken again as someone’s padawan.
Had fallen in love (and never really faded out of love) with a woman was was literally one word away (“Stay?”) from leaving the Order again for, but ended up staying because both he and the woman he’d fallen in love with were too bound up in duty to serve themselves.
Had been ordered by the Council to do things he doubted the wisdom in (Rako Hardeen), and was blasted for trying to do the right thing for the greater good, not just serve his own comfort.
It would have been Obi-wan who understood what it was like to be one of the people who needed greater help, who needed the help of a Jedi to solve their problems.
It would be Kenobi who knew what it was like to hold lives in his hands. (It was Kenobi who knew exactly how heavy the souls of children sent to fight wars were in his hands.)
If someone was going to understand not trusting ones’ own judgement, and still having to make choices anyway, it would be Obi-wan.
What if we were both magic prodigies and it otherized us in different ways and we devoted ourselves to protecting a family member who has general other goals & priorities. What if we both did self-sacrifical devotion in opposite ways.
What if we were dark mirrors of each other and where I've grown
overcontrolling you've grown complacent. What if, bought as a servant into a pretty loving home, ownership and control is what love looks like to me, and to you neglected and lonely growing up, love is gratefully taking any scraps of it you’re lent.
By belonging to someone, even if she comes back injured or fails at finding Delgal, she feels like she belongs and is cherished, by owning someone he feels safe in them not leaving him.
She’s what’s tethering him do you see… And he’s the only thing giving her direction and purpose in her state. She needs a compass and he needs a support.
They’re both so out of it 😭 It’s the weirdly intense and unearned mutual trust and reliance on each other?? They’re each other’s weird little comfort codependent teddy bear. Or at least they were headed towards that before SHE DIED THEN HE DIED THEN THEY BOTH FORGOT ABOUT EACH OTHER AND NEVER MET EVER AGAIN. Though she’s also the guard attack hound keeping him safe… And vice versa he heals her and can rewrite her very being with just one wave of his hand. They’re both so so mentally and physically vulnerable both but they cling onto each other. They can’t perceive things accurately but despite it all someway somehow they stumble into something closer to resembling companionship just before they both die. Falin is just that kind and Thistle is just that lonely. Overworked.
We both haven’t lived for ourselves in a very long time, haven’t we.
They both have a similar devotion to the people they love but again the difference is that Thistle starts overtsepping while Falin is self-effacing. The other difference between them is that people care about Falin <3 People have given up on Thistle long ago, and he has given people reasons to, while people refuse to give up on Falin. Yaad has a mini arc about it dw about it it’s ok he’s not all alone in the end 😭😭 He reached out for Marcille’s hand but they already all wanted to help him, they just had to be given the chance to, Yaad just had to be given the chance to, it’s okay I’m okay
Hey what if we learned to get in touch with our own identity and the world around us and living in the present again through being in the worst codependent situationship ever.
Falin and Thistle sitting in a tree, sucking on flowers together because they’re h-u-n-g-r-y 💕💕💕
I bet he’s only ever thought of flowers as useless ornaments. Weak weeds. But she shows him they’re tasty and useful and good and pretty in their own right too and deserve existing without proving their worth and waaa <33 Thistles…... Did you know thistles taste sweet if you remove the thorns and eat them?
"Even as a chimera, her kind nature remains" you can’t suppress her in the way that matters. You can’t soothe him in the way that matters. It’s doomed. You’re doomed. It’s all doomed. Save me.
I have a small AU where on the Day of the Departed some souls are able to go down to Ninjago to see their loved ones.
(Such as souls who have recently died, souls who are remembered, or souls who are trusted enough to go down (when a dangerous soul is one of the first two they either are not allowed to go down or must travel down with a ‘Guardian’ such as Garmadon with Morro (yes this is a Morro AU are you actually surprised)))
So imagine how Cole feels when years down the pipe line something triggers his previous ghostly-ness (maybe evil Garms resurrection) and he sees Morro and Garmadon bickering near a Lloyd, Cryptor making fun of Zane and Pixal, Dr Julien admiring all the changes that has occurred, his mom admiring how big he’s gotten, and the damn First spinjitzu master snorting at Wu and (evil) Garmadon bickering.
No Kai he’s not hallucinating Harumi’s birth parents and adopted parents hovering over her what the hell.
Imagine how baffled he would be when he sees some random blonde woman and a guy who looks way too familiar babying a Jay who has no idea why Cole both looks traumatised and amused when looking at him.
Jesse was one of the oldest clones to be involved with the 501st so it hit me right in the chest when I realised that he was one of Rex’s men in helping Anakin train Ahsoka to fight off their enemies earlier in the war, and Jesse was there trying to kill her under the chip’s orders at the end of S7, where she and Rex were fighting for their lives before they were able to escape in the end. Jesse helped her escape from himself, even if he didn’t know it in the beginning. and ohhhhhh I cannot do this, fellas
