The new queen's white falcon was on prominent display throughout the pageant, resting on a bed of Tudor roses. Although it is now synonymous with Anne and the Boleyns in general, Henry had only granted it to her on her elevation to the marquessate of Pembroke. It was a fitting choice because the same bird had long been an emblem of Anne's Irish ancestors, the Butlers, earls of Ormond. It also had strong royal associations and had been used as an emblem by the celebrated warrior king Edward III, as well as by Henry's maternal grandfather, Edward IV, with whom he strongly identified.

✩🪡🐈Review:
This historical romance is absolute perfection!
Since his return from the war, the Duke of Ashbury is in need wife. Enter Emma Gladstone, a vicar’s daughter turned seamstress. When she conveniently appears in his library wearing his former fiancé’s wedding gown demanding payment, he decides she’ll do.
I loved watching Emma and Ash’s marriage of convenience slowly turn into something real! In the beginning, Ash was determined to keep them apart by creating rules so that they wouldn’t fall in love. I knew from their first interaction, however, that his plans would fall apart because their chemistry is undeniable! Emma is stubborn and sees right through the walls that Ash puts up. Their intelligent, humorous personalities spark a connection between them that only strengthens as they help each other embrace their insecurities.
I was pleasantly surprised by how comedic this book is! Emma and Ash’s banter was incredibly entertaining and made me laugh out loud at times. If you’re looking for a historical romance that is reminiscent of Beauty and the Beast with both steam and humor, then this is your book! I was hooked from the first page and am convinced it was written for me!

Eton College holds a cherished place in the annals of His Serene Highness the Count of Münnich and Reutern’s family history, with their connection dating back to its very foundation.
The illustrious Founder of Eton College, King Henry VI, is His Highness’s seventeenth great uncle. This noble lineage traces its roots through his half-brother, The Count’s seventeenth great-grandfather, Edmund Tudor, 1st Earl of Richmond. Notably, King Henry VI was also a great-grandson of His Serene Highness’s eighteenth great-grandfather, John of Gaunt, 1st Duke of Lancaster.
The family’s ties to Eton College have remained steadfast across generations. Many generations of The Count’s grandfathers and extended family members were privileged attendees of this institution. From those bygone days to the present, Eton College continues to hold a special place in the hearts of His Serene Highness’s family.

Maybe we'll get a little Vanya press during the interim? 🤞I've loved watching Andrew and Simon interact in the past, so it would be wonderful if we could have that again!

Gretchen/Duke decision
Episode 1 spoilers!
I think a lot of non-powerful-built people struggled with this one, but I don't regret saving Gretchen at all. Of course, I feel awful about Duke's death, but for me it's all about the choice you make with the information you have at that moment.
Before the actual decision, Stella warns you that Gretchen is able to get out of her harness when she tries to chase stuff, so you know that's a potential risk from the start.
When the big choice comes, you're not presented with the options "save Duke" or "save Gretchen", but only "dive for flashlight" or "dive for Gretchen". Although it's heavily implied that both are in danger, I try put myself in the shoes of my character and do what would come naturally to me (at least in my canon run). I saw these two options:
Assist Duke (armed) when he was getting ready to shoot at the unidentified creatures.
Prevent Gretchen from charging at the unidentified creatures.
It was obvious to me that only one of them was in immediate danger: Gretchen. She was about to run off and I had to stop her right that second, because I saw what happened to the chicken. In my eyes Duke was in as much danger as Stella or myself at that point. Maybe even less, because he was the only one with a weapon.
Here's the thing: Duke's death was an unpredictable accident. He was startled by a creature and tripped, shooting himself in the process. I couldn't have known that would happen. Well, I could because of the context clues, but my character couldn't. What my character knew was that the dog that had been put under her care was about to escape. Duke was fine. So I think she'd be like "let me get a good hold of this dog right now, we'll see about attacking the creatures after". Basically, I thought the cause-effect relation was clear when it came to "let Gretchen go - Gretchen dies" but not "give light to Duke - he survives".
To be honest, if the game had explicitly said "save Duke/Gretchen" or if Duke was in a more helpless situation, I would have saved Duke. As much as I adore Gretchen (even without Talk To Animals), I would ensure the safety of the human being first. But that was not the case, so I stand by my decision.

The exact date of Conan IV’s donation isn’t known. The duke died in 1171, the presence of Bishop Geoffrey, who ascended the episcopate in 1167, makes it possible to propose that the act studied was drawn up in the years 1167-1171. These were difficult years for Conan IV. Since 1166, the year when the promise of marriage of his daughter, Constance, to the heir of Henry Il Plantegenet was sealed, he had, in a way, abdicated in favor of the King of England. He had nevertheless reserved the county of Guingamp for himself. But it is significant that he intended to continue to exercise his authority over the whole of the duchy, since this act was orchestrated in Cornouaille, a long way from the northern county, the prerogative of his house. It is true that it was a hereditary region, based on the ducal lineage from which his mother, Bertha, descended. However, it should be emphasized that, in this act, Conan still called himself dux Britanniae and comes Richemondiae. How do we understand this abdication made before the Plantegenet, since, until his death, the Breton wanted to take pride in, it seems, the title which gave him political primacy over the Duchy of Brittany? Also, behind the spiritual concern of a prince wishing to attach his name to the birth of a monastic establishment, should we not also glimpse the desire for a policy that saw, while his life was ending, Breton power soon in the hands of a foreigner? The goods donated by Conan were located near the south coast of Cornouaille, about five kilometers from the sea and about fifteen kilometers from Quimperlé. The deed uses the term foresta to describe the conceded area. More than the description of the plant cover (which is also probably intended to cover the sense of the word by the writer of the act), we must see in the abandoned domain the trace of the foresta known in the High Middle Ages, territory directly under control of the holder of public power. Count Alain Canhiart had granted the monks one of his residences; his wife, Judith, had ceded, a little later, the portus of Doelan and various domains around Clohars. It was a region where the house of Cornouaille was largely possessed, not in assets of hereditary origin, but in territories under the tax department and therefore its comital honor. Conan acted in a region controlled by his family, on property that came under his legitimate power, as the heir, as territorial prince of Brittany. Alain Canhiart's heir could no longer find the political dimension that was to be his except in this region which had probably remained faithful to him. Langonnet, born under the principate of his grandfather, Conan III, was a friendly abbey; what role did they want to give it by entrusting it with the creation of a daughter abbey? Sainte-Croix de Quimperlé had been a frontier abbey; Carnoët benefited from an identical geographical situation on the borders of Vannetais, then in the hands of Eudes de Porhoët, the second husband of Conan's mother, Berthe. The chosen place for the new Cistercian establishment, entrusted to a friend who was perhaps Maurice, just a coincidence or a symbol designed to mark the presence of a Breton Duke in this region?
