Eton College holds a cherished place in the annals of His Serene Highness the Count of Münnich and Reutern’s family history, with their connection dating back to its very foundation.
The illustrious Founder of Eton College, King Henry VI, is His Highness’s seventeenth great uncle. This noble lineage traces its roots through his half-brother, The Count’s seventeenth great-grandfather, Edmund Tudor, 1st Earl of Richmond. Notably, King Henry VI was also a great-grandson of His Serene Highness’s eighteenth great-grandfather, John of Gaunt, 1st Duke of Lancaster.
The family’s ties to Eton College have remained steadfast across generations. Many generations of The Count’s grandfathers and extended family members were privileged attendees of this institution. From those bygone days to the present, Eton College continues to hold a special place in the hearts of His Serene Highness’s family.

At Eton College, Prince William was a member of “Pop”, also known as The Eton Society. Pop is the body of senior prefects at Eton College.
There is also a wall at Eton College; which runs along the Long Walk upon which only members of Pop are allowed to sit.
There are generally 21 elected prefects from the Senior Year.
When he joined Pop, William would have had to undergo the traditional inauguration ceremony, which consisted of existing members of Pop chanting as they marched to his boarding house (Manor House) before “mobbing” him.
Mobbing consists of having shaving foam rubbed on his head and his trousers ripped off.
Poppers wear a special checkered pair of trousers to distinguish them from the other pupils. William also had a braided tailcoat and colored waistcoat of his choice. William, in this case, chose the away Aston Villa Kit for his Pop waistcoat.
Members of Pop are very important, as they are voted on by other members of the group.

Your reminder that there have always been forward thinkers among us.
currently maybe possibly single-handedly crashing whatever servers eton hosts its archived student newspapers on because me and a friend are getting obsessed with a single outspoken prefect from 1883

Croydon peer Barwell calls for ex-PM Truss to lose party whip
Get the pop corn, there’s another row in the Tories over ‘PopCon’, as right-whingers reveal themselves once more as ‘the Nasty Party’. By our political editor, WALTER CRONXITE Nasty party: Thick Lizzy showed she’s lost none of her natural charmlessness or ingrained incompetence Gavin Barwell, the former Croydon MP and now a semi-detached member of the Conservatives, has called for ex-Prime…

Robert Herbert came to Queensland as Bowen's secretary but emerged after the elections of April 1860 as leader of his government – effectively the Premier, though he called himself Colonial Secretary. The twenty-eight-year-old grandson of the Earl of Carnarvon, educated at Eton and Oxford, appointed his lover John Bramston to the Legislative Council.

In an unpublished autobiographical fragment, Haldane took the trouble to note that he did not join in the homosexuality rampant at Eton and that he was sexually – meaning heterosexually – ill at ease until much later.
